If the super cool odd smelling of incense witchy binder with the crinkly aged paper and the tiny wonderful bag of string and amazing little decorations and journaling questions is there on the bottom shelf of the shop for 4 months and you look at it every time and it's clear you are the only one entranced by it, then it's meant for you, it was meant to be yours, I say to myself in the mirror, knowing I was trying to save money.

Muggle Animals Don't Sparkle

There was a conversation in the drarry discord about how 12yo Draco would have totally been into Lisa Frank if she had been a thing in the UK, and then this happened, idk.

‘’No, she’s definitely magical, Pansy,’’ Draco said confidently as he wove through the corridor. ‘’It’s just, she’s American.’’ He paused to glance at her significantly. ‘’So it’s a bit different.’’

Pansy was tilting the booklet in her hands to squint at it from different angles, bumping into other students left and right. ‘’I guess,’’ she said dubiously.

They turned at the portrait of Oswio the Unlikely to reach the Tapestry Hall and found themselves with a bit more space, as there were only the Charms classrooms this way – well, and the Astronomy Tower, but no one would be heading that way at ten am on a Tuesday.

‘’I’m simply not sure there are any spells on this,’’ Pansy said cautiously.

Draco rolled his eyes and whirled to a stop. He grabbed the top of the booklet, tugging it down so they could both see it.

‘’Pansy,’’ he said as patiently as he could. ‘’Look at how many animals are squeezed on here. And their vibrant colours.’’ He gestured at a wide-eyed pink and yellow tiger. ‘’Some of them sparkle, Pans.’’ He looked at her pityingly. ‘’Muggle animals don’t sparkle.’’

Pansy tossed her head and handed him the booklet. ‘’You just don’t want to admit you like a Muggle thing.’’

Draco snorted, following Pansy as she strutted away, nose in the air. ‘’Are you suggesting my Great-Uncle Waldorf might have been to a Muggle shop on his travels abroad?’’

Pansy tossed a withering look over her shoulder. ‘’Are you suggesting your Great-Uncle Waldorf personally picked that out for you?’’

Draco blinked in startled realisation. ‘’No,’’ he said hastily. ‘’Obviously I realise his,’’ he flapped his hand, ‘’servant, or house elf did.’’ Then he grinned triumphantly. ‘’But even so, you can’t think a house elf went to a Muggle shop.’’

He caught up to Pansy. ‘’And they’d have to use magic to get them this cute, look how cute this is!’’

Pansy reached for the door of the classroom, then stopped when Draco gave a gasping little shriek.

‘’Pansy,’’ he said urgently. ‘’Some of them can lift off the page.’’ He held up his finger. ‘’And then affix to other surfaces.’’ He popped the rainbow-maned unicorn onto the breast of his robe and gazed down at it in admiration for a moment before smiling back up at Pansy.

‘’See? Lisa Frank is certainly a witch.’’
