The Fixer / I learned a lot from this though. // I learned that my tendency to jump in and fix to organize things that I didn’t even think up to take on that responsibility to neatly lay things out // isn’t just a product of me being sensitive or needing to control as an intrinsic personality flaw // but as learned from reflecting back on the things that have happened a product of the environment, in that when I didn’t take that responsibility things fell apart, didn’t move forward

Long time listener first time caller (well not really I'm pretty sure we've talked about Succession before). I wanna read up more on anti psychiatry but I'm fucking shithouse at reading, are there any like videos or podcasts or audiobooks you'd recommend, because that would make my life ten times easier
yes great question honestly. i haven't heard all of these podcast episodes, but i curated the list based on knowing the speakers' work (not necessarily the podcast hosts/shows!), and i think these are good places to start.
"Debunking the Myth of the Chemical Imbalance with Dr. Joanna Moncrieff" interviewed by Dr. Caroline Leaf
Revolution Health Radio: "Reviewing the Evidence on the Serotonin Theory of Depression, with Dr. Joanna Moncrieff"
Mad in America Radio: Lucy Johnstone on the Power Threat Meaning Framework
NPR Fresh Air: Anne Harrington on psychiatry's "troubled search" for a biological understanding of mental illness
New Books Network: Mical Raz on her book "What's Wrong With the Poor: Psychiatry, Race, and the War on Poverty"
The Mental Breakdown Morning Show: "Bruce Cohen and Psychiatric Hegemony" (Cohen, unlike most on this list, explicitly aims for a marxist explanation and understanding of mental illness)
Madness Radio: "Bipolar Medication Myths" (Joanna Moncrieff interviewed by Will Hall)
What Your GP Doesn't Tell You: "David Healy Discusses SSRI Drugs, Suicide and Sexual Dysfunction"
Coming From Left Field: "The Political Economy of Mental Health Systems with Joanna Moncrieff"
States of Mind: "Mental Illness in America" (includes segments with Katherine Bankole-Medina, Jonathan Metzl, Allan Horwitz, Jamie Cohen-Cole, and Elyn Saks)
Jesse Meadows's podcast on ADHD, "Sluggish" (haven't listened to this one, but have read a lot of their writing; they're challenging the psychiatric view of ADHD as a person who struggles with the symptoms and behaviours the diagnostic label describes)
audio books: i'm honestly not sure where's the best and cheapest place to actually download these from, but i know there are audio books of 'mind fixers' by anne harrington (narrated by joyce bean) and 'desperate remedies' by andrew scull (narrated by jonathan keeble). uh, if anyone has a good list of audiobooks on this lmk :-)

family dinner.
It's not that Aiden is nervous, not entirely. It's more along the lines of opening up his and Luci's circle just a touch bigger. It's not a bad thing, his family is completely fine and he doesn't think there are going to be any issues with it. It's Aiden being Aiden, worrying something will happen but nothing will. It's his fixer side wanting to fix something before it even happens, trying to be twenty steps ahead.
It's dinner not some wild and crazy life changing (debatable) confidential, under lock and key situation. Not entirely. And dinner is going to be good, it always is. Even as he turns up and lets himself into the house, it smells delicious and homey. He closes the door behind himself and he always comes a bit early because he likes too. And he brings along some of the California wine as he had an extra bottle from Napa he hasn't gotten around to drinking yet.
There's music from somewhere, maybe Leo has the record player out. Music and food, always a staple in their home growing up. Aiden shrugs off his jacket and hangs it up, shoes off as he walks down the hall, looking into the parlour but doesn't see anyone so keeps moving along.
"Oh Kim, your son is here," Beatrice says from a chair in the kitchen. She's into the white wine right now. "The overachiever."
"Funny, gram," Aiden shakes his head, settling the bottle on the counter.

Random Lucifer Headcanons
I love this man so much, but he is also so goddamn irritating it drives me insane! So here are some basic Lucifer headcanons that formulate the way I write him.
He doesn’t outright tell people he loves them. He shows it in little ways: placing bowls of cut up fruit beside his loved ones while they’re busy working, not eating until everyone is at the dinner table, peeking into rooms at night to be sure that everyone who should be there is.
He’s so protective over his brothers that I could see him interrogating any significant others they may have intensely to be sure that they’re being upright and honest about their intentions.
He does not enjoy being called Luci, at all. He only tolerates it from his brothers (past and present, i.e, Simeon) and Diavolo. Anybody else is getting an angry peacock on their ass.
He’s a very good student but everyone is somewhat scared of him. His classmates are mostly terrified to work on group projects with him and his teachers are all somewhat intimidated by him.
He dedicates all of his time to serving Diavolo and taking care of his brothers, so he really doesn’t have many friends at all.
He’s so incredibly proud of his family. If he had less self control, he would be preening like a peacock, bragging about them all constantly.
He’s so emotionally repressed that he has no idea how to deal with negative emotions at all, both his own and others.
Following that, he’s very much a fixer. If any of his brothers are upset about something, he’s more likely to try to fix the situation than he is to comfort them outright.
I can’t remember if this is canon or if I’ve just internalized it so much that its become canon to me, but Lucifer almost always knows about the Anti-Lucifer League’s shenanigans and it’s not because anybody tells him. He knows his brothers so well that he can typically predict their plans based on how they’re acting. He doesn’t completely stop their plans because he uses the existence of the ALL to become closer to both Belphie and Satan.
He absolutely has a stash of his favorite foods hidden in his office somewhere, both as a back up plan for if they run out of food for Beel and as an easy way for him to access food without leaving his office on late nights.

David Martinez preferences
First meeting
A/n: this is for the lack of David fanfics out there. In this story the character is a female and Lucy isn’t interested in David for story reasons of course. Feel free to send recommendations, sorry if my writing is off I haven’t written fanfic in years <3
Tumblr media
Maine’s chrome hand slammed down onto David’s back as he lead him through the doors of Afterlife. “Living the dream, right? Cmon, get a beer down your throat.” He smirked, shoving him towards the bar. David groaned, hesitantly sitting down at the strangely desolate bar, everyone crowding around booths, discussing new deals with fixers. Seems like nobody wanted a drink. “Sorry, someone sitting here?” He jumped slightly at the new source of sound, looking towards the owner of the “mysterious” voice. The first thing he saw was the bright e/c eyes staring back at him, the mystery woman wore a wide smile, a smile that seemed genuine which was unusual. Sincerity in night city? Never heard of it. “Um..sure, the bar’s pretty empty.” David muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. The girl sat by him, shuffling in her seat as she leaned over the bar. “Just a Cola for me..actually make it two colas.” Was she ordering a drink for him? And..cola? Ugh. He shivered, tapping the bar softly. “I uh, actually don’t do carbonated drinks-“ “one cola, one water. Better?” She sent him a wink, sliding the glass of water over to him. “Sorry hon, no clue!” A pet name from a pretty lady, David had never felt so lucky. “So..come here often?” He cringed at his own comment. ‘Come here often? Jesus David.’ The sweet sound of the girls chuckle rang in his ears. “I could ask you the same thing! Saw you come in with Maine and the crew, fresh blood? Guess it’s my fault for not collecting that ‘Saka data hm?” He sputtered, slamming his fist into his chest as he coughed. “Jesus don’t choke, if you die that sandy is mine yknow?” Her hand tugged on the back of his jacket as she peered down at his back, the chrome attached to him glistening under the bright lights of the club. “Y-You. Maine, you’re-“ “I’m in the crew yes, never heard of me? I’ve certainly heard of you David. I’m Y/N, I’m sure we’ll get alone just fine hon.” She smirked, patting his back softly as she made her way towards the exit of Afterlife. “Oh David. Call me!” His eyes widened as he turned to watch her leave. ‘Call-‘ his water. He stared down at the glass, a slip of paper with a phone number messily scribbled on sat under his drink. He had a feeling that he’d be seeing more of her. He smiled, shoving the slip of paper into his pocket as he chugged the rest of his water. “Long Night..”

Go Ahead . . .Suspend My Disbelief!
Question: Do you have any general suggestions for an author who wants to write a thriller with a medical theme as its hook?
This question is very timely for me as I am just starting a new book. I would like to say that this is my second novel, but like many authors, I have a number of books in progress and struggle to find the one that inspires me to push through to the end.
That said, I took a look at my “works in progress,” and found that they all have something in common.
I like searching the web for a new scientific breakthrough or discovery that fills me with hope and scares the shit out of me simultaneously.
There . . . you see . . . we have the makings of a good thriller already. Kind of like Schrodinger’s Cat, it’s both alive and dead at the same time.
Tumblr media
I am delighted and somewhat surprised to announce that my debut novel, Immortal Red, has just become an Amazon Best-Seller in the Medical Thriller, and Crime & Mystery / Science Fiction genres.
Tumblr media
As such, I will use it as one of my examples for how to select an idea / premise for a novel. Shameless Plug: The eBook edition of Immortal Red is on sale for a limited time for $0.99 on Amazon. CLICK HERE for a deeper explanation and the opportunity to buy at $0.99 if you wish. While searching the web for second-hand parts for an ancient Lotus Elan and a used tweed jacket on Poshmark, I came across this article about a unique creature.
Fact: Turritopsis dohrnii, the dime-sized jellyfish with the bright red stomach, is the only creature on earth with the gift of immortality (notice that the title of the novel, Immortal Red, is chosen from the headline). When confronted with death due to advanced age, starvation, or trauma sufficient to kill but not obliterate, turritopsis dohrnii has the ability, through a process called transdifferentiation, to repair itself by converting adjacent healthy cells of one type into precise replacements for damaged cells of another type. This is not unlike a fetal stem cell, except for the fact that turritopsis can do this a seemingly endless number of times. Through this mechanism, turritopsis is able to effect a complete repair of all damaged tissue and emerge young and healthy.
Tumblr media
Now I was intrigued and looked for a way to make this a universal concept, something that would appeal to everyone.
Questions: Would you want to live forever? Would you kill to be able to live forever? If everyone you know and love—dies of old age—would you want to go on? Would you be motivated to do anything if you had all the time in the world?
Suspension of Disbelief: A marine biologist snorkeling off the coast of Cape Fear discovers the jellyfish and takes it to her lab for further study. She kills the little invertebrates over a hundred times only to have them come back to life, new and perfect. She wonders if there may be mammalian applications. The Institute finds her research interesting but unimportant and cancels funding. Her husband works for the eighty year-old director of a CIA black ops division charged with doing jobs too dirty for the rest of the agency to touch. Surprise, the aged director offers to fund her research—and we’re off on a tale filled with a diverse cast: Nick, an archaeologist turned CIA “fixer,” who is dying, Tommie, a Native American who has died more times than he cares to remember, and Lucy, a young graduate student on the run with the “Cliff’s Notes” for immortality.
Procedure: At this point, I had to invent science sufficiently credible to allow human application of transdifferentiation. I took liberties with the existing science, but remained true to basic scientific and medical principles to allow the reader to suspend disbelief.
Here is another example of a simultaneously hopeful and horrifying scientific “breakthrough.”
CRISPR: (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) By use of a hand-held “gene gun” scientists are able to coat a heavy-metal projectile with specific gene material and literally fire it into a cell, inserting this genetic material into a strand of DNA to repair the strand or eliminate the sequence of certain diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis. . .
Tumblr media
or to create a genetically modified “super” tomato.
Tumblr media
All well and good until a Chinese scientist used the process in utero to create genetically modified super-twins. He’s now in prison, and there is a selective moratorium on the use of CRISPR in humans.
But once the cat is out of the bag . . .
Tumblr media
The internet is chock full of tidbits like this if you just dig a bit. Below are the workings of machinations of one such headline:
“Combining a Virus and Genetic Material for Insertion into a Human Genome.”
Consider the following premise: the military, searching for a way to offset its ever shrinking ranks decides that it needs to create soldiers who can operate on the battle field without the constraints of conscience or the PTSD that often results from such activities.
The researchers note that the limbic system plays a vital role in the inhibition of violence and manifestation of the inevitable mental trauma of these actions. A plan is developed to insert DNA from the limbic system of a reptile into the limbic system of a test subject. Researchers note that reptiles are able to attack their prey without anger or regret. They simply do what is necessary to survive.
Ideally, the effects would be limited in both time and scope, manifesting on the battlefield and dissipating soon afterward. To that end, a decision is made to combine the type-specific DNA with a virus and literally give the subject’s limbic system a short-term “cold.”
What could possibly go wrong?
Well—it turns out—not only are the changes not limited to the target organ—the subjects are also contagious.
Tumblr media
This premise happens to be the idea behind Elegant Beasts, a novel I am currently working on.
Below you will find the teaser prologue illustrating the evolution of an idea from Science Fact to Created Science to Suspension of Disbelief.
Elegant Beasts
Prologue
What if? The two most dangerous words in the English language. What if he hadn't ignored that nagging pain in his gut? Or better yet, what if he had never worked for that chip manufacturer growing those damn silicon crystals for micro-circuits and then cleaning them with trichloroethylene?
But that had been 1973. Who knew, another provocative word pairing, that “Tricky” would turn out to be one of the most potent hepatic carcinogens the world had ever seen? A time bomb that could sleep soundly for decades before waking to spawn a tumor that would quietly, double every 6-8 months, seeding the lung and regional lymph nodes. before bursting free, to take out its host in six months.
“Damn.” Albert Fontaine, MD rolled on his left side, brought his knees to his chest and palpated the growing mass under his right ribs. If he lay perfectly still, in a tight fetal position there was no pain. But moving—well— that was something else.
But, this morning, something was different. He didn't know what. But it didn't matter, given his present circumstance, different was good. The mass felt, not so much smaller, but softer, somehow less of a challenge to his survival.
Elizabeth Gilmore, PhD in Genetics and Virology or as he nicknamed her, Elizardbeth, now shortened to simply Lizard had told him this was just a “taste” of what was possible. A cure for the incurable. But at what cost he thought, picking at the scaly rash that had appeared on his forearms.
Life for his humanity. But not the life he had now. Was it a good trade? He supposed it was a matter of perspective and belief. He was no longer the Catholic schoolboy who accepted everything the nuns told him. But he was not quite ready to accept the Kansas rock band's thesis that “all we are is dust in the wind.”
The skin of the creature was the worst part.
Albert Fontaine had always been fascinated with skin. It was an overlooked wonder of evolution and accident, a twenty-one-square foot organ with an exceptional ability to regenerate itself. He had once read that dead skin cells accounted for a billion tons of dust in the atmosphere and he wanted to believe it, but as a scientist, he had no faith in how they’d arrived at that figure. Measured how many cells the average individual lost in a year, he supposed. 30,000 cells a minute? Was that right? Skin was always changing. Microbes roved its surface, fighting disease, the miniature populations unique to the species they protected. Fontaine liked this idea of humans hosting one kind of vibrant community and dogs another and baboons and sharks yet another. He was not religious, but this felt close: every moving creature a solar system for another world, every beating heart a sun, each world contained by living, seething skin.
Albert brushed the now vaguely greenish flakes from the rash on his forearm.
Lizard had hinted at the existence of another subject, someone months further along in their “treatment.”
And so, Fontaine had broken into Elizabeth Gilmore’s lab to see for himself.
Broken in wasn’t quite the correct term, since he had used a key card to gain access, but he’d acquired the duplicate key card under a false premise. So whatever that was, it was enough that he felt jumpy. He was not given to criminal activity; he did not get speeding tickets, he did not cross against the light, and he did not eat donuts from bags labeled with other people’s names in the break room. So long as the rules made sense, he was a rule follower.
But Elizabeth Gilmore’s research did not make sense.  She had been one of DARPA’s (Defense Advanced Research Project Agency) “golden girls,” a rising star in charge of a government-funded “super soldier” program. Fast forward six months: The Lizard had been unceremoniously booted from her high-tech digs in the Virginia Tech research center and banished to a hastily outfitted lab in one of the many dozens of remote abandoned buildings that dot the nearby Radford Army Ammunition Plant Army Base
As Fontaine prowled through her lab, he tried to look as if he belonged, although he didn’t truly believe he would be interrupted. It was after hours for most of the staff and he’d watched Gilmore leave as he arrived. She worked the twelve-hour day shift that was typical here, seven am to seven pm. Fontaine was on the exact opposite, pulling nights since beginning his circadian skin research.
Gilmore’s lab was impeccable, not just spotlessly clean but fastidiously organized. A radio had been left on and it played the glimmering ‘80s music she listened to relentlessly. He’d somehow expected her research to be secret, hidden away, but the isolation chamber was clearly labeled.
Fontaine hadn’t been able to see anything through the glass square in the door, so he dutifully scrubbed down and searched for a hazard suit. Finding none, he considered his options. Given his dismal prognosis he decided to go for it.
The door opened with a snake-like hiss as the chamber decompressed. His vision adjusted slowly to the faint red lighting.
There it was.
One fell straight into uncanny valley just to look at it. Two legs, two arms, those frightful hands, the eyes. Was it a thing that looked human or a human that looked like a thing? It was impossible for Fontaine to tell which direction the slider was being pushed.
And the skin was the worst part. On some areas of the body, it was smooth and hairless, the surface marked only by striations that reflected the arid environment of the isolation chamber. But on other others, particularly the arms and the face —
He was reminded suddenly of his younger brother, a miracle baby. He’d been born with Harlequin Ichthyosis, a rare skin disorder that left him plated with a thick armor of his own skin, a tiny stegosaurus-human chimera. The red, scaly plaques had to be operated on to keep his limbs from auto-amputating, and to this day he had to constantly manage his scaly, red skin.
Looking at Gilmore’s research, he was reminded not of the adult his brother had become, but the tiny, scaled hybrid in the ICU he had begun as.
“Dr. Fontaine, you seem lost.”
Fontaine startled.
She was there. Of course, she was there.
Elizabeth Gilmore stood just outside the isolation chamber, her narrow, shapely face framed in the thick glass window. He saw the thick blue lanyard at her neck; she had not left at all.
“What is the use of such research?” Fontaine demanded, his voice raised in order to be heard. “What practical application can there possibly be?”
Gilmore smiled. It was neither amused nor friendly. “It cured her anxiety disorder entirely.”
Her. Somehow it was far worse to think about the creature as possessing a gender.
“This is unethical,” he told her.
Gilmore merely blinked at him.
“How did you even get someone to volunteer for this?” he asked.
Gilmore looked away for a moment; she was tapping something into the keypad. When she looked back at him, her smile was gone. She said, “They wander in after hours.”
He heard the lock slide into place.

Yeah. Yep. Mmmhmm. Something about how Buck is increasingly desperate to find the secret to happiness.
Tumblr media
How Hen "always has the answers" but she told him he needed to figure it out on his own. How Buck is — likely subconsciously — clinging to the fact that she didn't try to stop him, so he must be on the right track. (Not her responsibility, btw. She's trying to be a supportive friend.)
How that "infinitely beautiful and reachable thing" he's so desperate to find is inside of Buck. Buck himself is infinitely beautiful and worthy of love and happiness. He has been all along.
But he misunderstood the assignment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's so deeply ingrained in Buck that he does not exist for his own sake. His body was created — literally conceived — to save someone else. And he failed. (How deeply fucked up is it that his mother's one and only attempt at care and compassion for her son just doubles down on his trauma? That she and his father caused him? "You were born to save someone." Fuck.)
And the more he tries to find happiness, Buck "The Fixer" just keeps trying to save other people. The one and only thing he knows he's good at.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he keeps saving people. He failed Daniel, but now he does save people. So many people. Strangers, his beloveds (especially Eddie and Chris), over and over again. But why does he still feel so empty and despairing?
He may not write them down, but Buck's got his own ledger of people saved, just like Bobby. If he saves enough people, maybe he can finally be at peace with himself. Except Buck doesn't even have a goal he's trying to reach. It — and he — by definition will never be enough.
Anyway. Evan Buckley misunderstood the assignment and is still stuck in this moment:
Tumblr media
He will not find happiness until he 1) reckons with this right here and talks to his parents about himself, 2) realizes he deserves happiness, for his own sake, not as a reward for saving people enough / saving enough people, and 3) that the happiness he seeks is already right there, inside and all around him.
(This was a lot but I caught feelings from your tags.)
this ask is great and more coherent than most of my thoughts, my friend. thank you.
every time i think about hen and buck’s relationship, about him seeking her input, i always go back to the post-lawsuit days, when the rest of the team was still kind of giving buck the (rightful) cold shoulder and hen was the first to properly welcome him back. that “thank you, hen. for not feeling like you need to follow bobby’s lead” and hen’s “i march to the beat of my own drum, buck. always have. you should too.” because that’s exactly what she kept repeating him all those other times, and buck keeps coming back to her to hear it once more, twice more - to have someone tell him that his life is his to live, no matter how it started. no matter how it’ll end.
eddie announces he’s leaving the 118 and buck looks at hen, who’s losing eddie too; buck kisses lucy and tells hen, who gives him advice based on her past mistakes; “hen, you always have the answers” and she’s just failed a test by giving the wrong answers. buck not only thinks someone else can show him the way out of the woods, but he chooses someone who’s just as lost. he was told once that “you make it, son” and “there’s never enough time” and he convinced himself there are universal answers to universal questions, somehow. so he asks the smartest person he knows - who’s lost, still - and listens as she tells him he has the power here, he has agency, they both do. but hen’s way out is not buck’s, and it’s so significant in the frame of his storyline that she’s finally picked her happiness and how to get it without sacrificing herself more precisely when buck’s path is turning on itself over and over again.
the point is that he was conceived in pain and in pain he was every time he managed to be seen. there reside both his question and his answer. sacrifice is his act of rebellion - ‘buck begins’ and how he just doesn’t. listen. and “just breathe”//“how will you breathe?”//“i’m gonna hold it. for as long as i can.” - but it’s also his act of submission to those who have left him alone - “i’m really sorry about your dead son, but can we talk about me for a minute?” -. he can’t ask of his parents to put aside some of their pain for him, that’d be asking them to sacrifice something and they’ve suffered enough. everyone has suffered enough. maybe he hasn’t? maybe the next time he gets crushed or almost drowns, yeah, maybe that will be enough and he’ll be free.
the healthiest mindset he’s shown up until now is his desperate “love me anyway” because unconditional love is what he inherently deserves, just like everyone does, but at the same time there’s nothing worse than that ‘anyway’. anyway? despite what? what should his parents’ love forgive him for? there’s no fault - no original sin - to get over here, and he doesn’t know. he doesn’t know he can get to the core of his being and find the beauty and the happiness he spies in others, he doesn’t know he’s whole and not the sum of parts, he doesn’t know he can stop clinging to whatever he meets on his path if he’s stable and solid as marble himself.
“i hide my true feelings from others myself.”
(copy-pasting this fever-induced set i made for morgan once upon a time because i feel like it sums everything up quite well).

I want to give a shoutout to CartoonFuel for writing my other favorite Wish re-write. I like how this work sticks to canon while still adding it the cut concepts we all wanted.
It’s boldest, and my favorite choice was making Starboy nonverbal. A non verbal Starboy seems to be a rarity in the re write community and it can be hard to pull off but Fuel’s descriptions help paint what this character is feeling.

They're 10s, but...
Thanks for the tag, @squarebracket-trickster!
The game:
Rules: List your OCs as “tens but” to give us a not-at-all comprehensive scope of their characters
I'm going to use some of the characters from the restoration comedy I wrote for my Master's degree, because this seems like a good field for them:
Charles D'Aubigny: He's a 10, but has NO idea how to flirt properly with a girl, even when she gives him every opportunity. :(
"Andrew" "Anderson": He's a 10/10 valet, but--oh, she? Well, she's just a 10 then.
Adelaide D'Aubigny: She's an absolutely bangin' 10, but no-one else can keep up with her rapier wit!
Lucy Armstrong: She's a 10, but has a thing for slightly incompetent men.
Mr Stodge: He's a 10, but mostly because of his fortune, let's be real. He's a fixer-upper.
Fare-well Willis: He's a 10, but tragically descended from Puritans.
Musetta: She's a 10, but... actually, no notes. She's perfection.
I'll tag @dragonatthedinnertable because I think you'll have fun with your novel characters, and anyone else who wishes to can use this as an excuse to hop on.

sbr gio content mayhaps please i beg you
ok fair warning i got a lil too excited about the concept of a dinopants giorno, then thought too hard about it and spent WAY too much time on this <33
and its basically all half ass ideas and designs im still not set 100% on...
BUT!!
Diego and Hot Pants in my rewrite where they travel together after the ringo roadagain fight onwards, and pick up Lucy as a traveling companion/guardians from the infiltration arc onwards. live at the end of SBR. Both make it out with injuries and for Diego this meant he had to take an early retirement from competitive horse riding. Man still loves his horses and treats them like his own family, but will no longer be able to participate in the thrill of the race.
Once Diegos up to snuff again, with some help from Hot Pants and Lucy's connections to her grandfather Steel's assets, they were able to keep Diego alive. Diego lives with draw backs that keep him more limited than he used to be.
Hot Pants and Diego who have both grown to care for on another and the companionship they grew together on their trip, stay by each others side. HP accompanies Dio to England to find his estranged father and get a bit of insight into.. well whatever he thought he was looking for.
HP and Diego then settle down and with some years they have their first child who HP names Giorno, and Diego gives them the last name Giovanna after his late mother.
Tumblr media
Giorno is a mischievous girl, and even with HP's stricter nature, she was a daddys girl. Absolutely spoiled rotten by Diego. She's a bit of a princess and acts like a know it all (and both annoyingly enough and creepy enough she's basically always right on the money). She tends to think of herself first but has a good heart, i picture her kinda a mixed balance on being like p5 Giorno and Trish. She has two younger siblings (who names are tbd but I'm picking them to be 6 and 8 years younger than Gio) and they were also spoiled but a lot better temperament than Gio was as she spent nearly 6 years the only kid in the house Diego focused his fatherly affection onto. However her siblings followed her around like ducklings. They simply adored her.
and in turn Dio loves her parents terribly and has been close to her aunt Lucy since she was young herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the death of her father and the development of her stand, Giorno has left home and hasnt spoken to her mother Hot Pants in years now. Her father Diego ended up passing away after complications with his old injuries finally caught up with him, and not long after she fully found herself in possession of a full stand ability she could control. (Named Born to be, Album by Melanie. Might change at a later date,, ways also considering Moondog the artist or Jig Saw Puzzle also by Melanie for names...)
Im still debating the exact ability for B2B, but i do picture it being a healer/mender/fixer kind of ability, and Giorno often feels a heavy weight that if they had just developed their stand just a bit sooner, they could have helped their dad. Iv been picturing her having a mending ability that's a bit like nut king call but with sewing where she can sew things together with a tough thread that can be pulled apart with force, but im still debating this and if i want more added to this or something totally different,,, still playin around with B2B's concept
She found herself unable to stay home where he father no longer would be there waiting for her. Her mother still had her siblings and all her friends around, surly the daughter who had the ability to save Hot Pant's husband but didnt wouldn't be missed?
Now Giorno acts like a total con man, they hustle shady goods, play shifty pop up card games on the street, their kinda just a rotten no good slum of the street now. just waiting for some big thing to fall in her lap and sent her on a quirky weird adventure that'll change the very core of who she is as a person and learning that maybe the things that happened to you, even bad are the very things that change and grow you and make you who you are.
