SHE LITERALLY SPENT MONTH EMBROIDING IT BC I SPENT LIKE 30 MINUTES ONCE TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS PERFORMANCE AND HOW MUCH IT MAKES ME FEEL MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY
During Seoul Final in 2019, Jimin and Jungkook changed the lyrics at the end of The Truth Untold to “but I still want you.” Compared to every other change made for the final concert, this was never explained. These different lyrics hold a significance that still applies today.
In a year of uncertainty, the members strived to do their best for us in 2020. They filmed and released content throughout the year, putting us first in their minds. They kept us going during our darkest times and made us feel less alone when most of us were struggling, online and offline. They tried to make each performance unique but with the same powerful moves and meaning. With certain restrictions, they would try to keep themselves positive both backstage and onstage. They kept the flow of music and happiness going and expressed wanting to do this for many years. Not just during the hard times. It’s obvious that Jimin and Jungkook also spoke about this together previously, as seen in Festa:
A special performance is MMA 2020. Black Swan is already a heart wrenching song, even more so with the cancellation of the tour afterwards. To lose your true love and passion for something, to face those fears and then conquer them within art is such a powerful message. It must have been incredibly hard for them to go through their worst fears during lockdown and we could see how they supported each other during these times. With Jimin and Jungkook, we saw them nearly always together as we usually do. And this was reflected in their performances too.
In a cruel twist of fate, they wouldn’t be able to perform Black Swan live in front of an audience for a few years. I wish that BTS could have performed their MMA 2020 set in front of a live audience, but of course that wouldn’t be possible. The performance is so tender, as we see Jungkook being dragged away from Jimin. Jimin then struggled to get through and then the powerful lift when they reunited. You could still feel the impact of the performance though through the screen and there are countless praises for Jikook’s part especially:
It would be a long time until BTS would be reunited with Army again. They continued with their releases, but we could see how much the distance between them and us was affecting them. We saw this when Jimin suddenly cried during MOTS:Online and how Jungkook comforted him, very much aware of what they were each feeling. Once we were together again,we gave them so much love and you could see the relief on their faces. That they had made it and Jimin and Jungkook seemed just as affected by this too. They have an extra connection on stage and that was in full force as they played around, got extra close and flirted together. It was like no time had passed at all. This hug is different from their normal ones, it silently says “We did it. We made it.”
Chapter two began and, though they did their separate things, that connection remained strong. They supported each other as much as they could, occasionally missing each other and talking about the other at any opportunity they had. This would have been a different set of circumstances that they are used to, but they made it work. Whilst also enjoying time by themselves or working on other things. Another new situation is enlistment. Though it’s been a talking point for many years, it was soon time for each member to enlist. With Jimin and Jungkook deciding to take part in the buddy system. Showing that with each struggle or new experience, they are always there for each other. And will continue to be. No matter what happens, that look and message from 2019 still remains:
JK and JM felt it was in their best interest to serve together. This speaks to the bond they have, whatever their relationship is or is not. They both knew that tattoos could limit life choices for them, yet they still chose to ink themselves. During the live, it was Jimin who spoke about wanting to join the Special Forces. JK seemed to mumble something too. The unit they were speaking of is the ROK Special Forces unit that reports directly to the President similar to the US Army Green Berets or Navy Seals. Both JM and JK have the physical abilities, martial arts skills, MMA skills, etc to do this level of training. Tattoos ARE ALLOWED in this unit. The issue is it requires a 4 year commitment and serving potentially around the world. This unit is for a career soldier.
The Unit V is enlisting with is Special Operations/Military Police. This unit only requires an 18 month commitment and yes, does not allow visible tattoos. Remember all members have tattoos.
Jimin and JK had to apply months ago for this companion program. It was a three stage process that took several months for approval. They most likely knew for years they were going to enlist together. Jungkook got his first tattoo in Sept 2019. All members had planned to enlist in the military in 2020, before COVID killed those plans. JK had to know when he got his very visible tattoo what the limitations were regarding the military, yet he chose to move forward. Even back then, he could not serve for 4 years. He and JM had most likely decided back then they were going to do the companion program. In 2019/2020, they were perceived to be much closer back during that time, than they are in 2022/2023. Yet, we now know how close they really were/are this year, in spite of limited public outings.
They both had the opportunity to apply to a multitude of units that would accept their tattoos, individually. However, they were limited in the units that accept the companion program. This should tell the naysayers that Jimin and Jungkook have a tight bond. They gave up other units that would have been a lot more comfortable and safer (locating land mines) if they had enlisted separately. We may never know the true reason for the joint enlistment, but obviously they are close friends who love and depend on each other. This has nothing to do with shipping, but simply the bond between them. They are looking out for each other verses meeting individual goals or challenges.

Part 9 of maybe (?) more to come that is.
Or...
A page from JM and JK’s book of “How do we do the couple in the group without others noticing it (or so they thought)”.
Been a while eh? I guess I thought it was time for part 9.
At this point I'm not even sure if I'm repeating or not, but let's be honest here for a sec... who cares? Right?
The hugs.
You know, the ones that kind of don’t seem buddy buddy like, that just feel like MORE.
Moving on...
JM not so subtly checking out that hunky piece of JK.
And JM of course is not the only one to loose his cool
Like what was this for JK?
And if they are all about the fanservice, and lifting up JM’s shirt is for the fans, what exactly is JK looking at? Or even more so, why is he looking? And that smile...
Those times they change the lyrics singing to each other.
This wasn't us JM was admiring.
Poor man lost himself for a second there.
I guess this needs no description.
Ties in with my "The terms JM has used to describe JK" post...
How subtle of you JK.
Now, the second one there, nothing subtle about that one now is there?
So, that second moment, not TTU one (that one I'm still on the fence about), JK was not being real subtle. But thing is, it would have gone unnoticed. Like many of their moments do.
And then, like many of those moments, once you have noticed them they are anything but subtle.
And if we are on the subject...
The kiss blowing
We had young Jikook blowing kisses and miraculously catching each other's kiss.
Can we call this blowing a kiss?
Jimin blowing kiss at 2018 MMAs
2020 Festa Karaoke
2022 Las Vegas concert - JM again
2019 concerts
1st one, ok now, wow there JK...
2nd one, well it's cut off but like many Jikook moments pretty sus.
3rd acknowledged by JM.
Is that a kiss JK?
Once again I've reached my image quota (Tumblr is just mean).
But you know what that means, don't you?
...
To be continued.
I am kind of feeling the next one will be a good one. Already have some ideas floating around. Hopefully no repeating, but then again, who cares?
I’ll admit, I do pick my battles sometimes on social media. And one of those battles that I will always die on is that Jikook chemistry on stage dancing is UNMATCHED not just in BTS btw but the entire industry. No one does it like they do. There is a mildly harmless y/n Jimin and JHope biased account that I follow. I say she’s a y/n because I think she has a crush on Jimin and thinks he’s bf material (she’s not wrong) but she doesn’t do or say anything overtly weird. Ya’ll know y/n’s are right up there with tkk for me. She makes mostly cute edits of Jimin. But she just lost me and I couldn’t scroll past it without engaging. She posted a kind of suggestive partner dance between two dancers with intricate choreo and claimed that this would be perfect for JiHope and that their chemistry is unmatched. Now, J-Hope is an EXCELLENT dancer. He’s one of the main dancers of BTS for a reason. His technique level is insane and he is a powerhouse on stage. But his chemistry with Jimin unmatched?? Really?? If his chemistry with Jimin dancing is so palpable why didn’t he lift Jimin in the pas de deux for MMA 2020 Black Swan? Tell me, I’m waiting. If his chemistry with J-Hope is unmatched then why haven’t they done duo stages like Black and White? Why didn’t he do the Own It choreo with Jimin? I think this girl is an aspiring dancer or something, and while we love that and we love having biases, sometimes you have to be subjective. JiHope doesn’t even hold a candle to the level of Jikook when it comes to dancing on stage. I don’t have to take dance lessons to know that. I cited my sources with no response other than agree to disagree. I can’t help but feel like this is another instance of Jikookphobia and downplaying their chemistry. I’ll leave you with this masterpiece to ponder. Oh and keep in mind that chemistry aside, Jungkook was the ONLY member that could technically do this lift. Oh and fun side note, it’s official that I will be getting a tattoo on my trip to Korea this summer done by none other than PolyC and it may be inspired by a certain event that happened during this stage. 🤭 Sorry, couldn’t help but share because I’m so excited. And if you are one of those that wants to act like getting a tattoo by PolyC is an invasion of privacy, then drink some water, touch some grass, and grow up. I’ll gladly block you.
