I hate the fact that the only think people talk about regarding Grian's Evo series is the Watchers.

Is like, no one gonna mention how Grian summoned his friend from underground?

Or all the Jigsaw traps that he created?

Nobody talks about his empire and all his paranoic plans of escape.

Noone talks about how he tried to bribe the police by rebuilding their station.

He was his own fucking dictator while trying to make it everyone else's problem.

Sandstorm dying solely to further alderheart’s pissbaby manpain made me so upset. alderheart in general just pisses me off… him and tree were both just so blatantly written to steal the arc from their she-cat counterparts lmfao (sparkpelt, sandstorm, needletail, violetshine). that’s it, that’s their purpose… similar to rootspring and nightheart. I just can’t enjoy characters whose purpose narratively is to shove the she-cats to the wayside… it happens so much in this series already

yeah 😔 it's the repetition of the archetype and the context around it that gets me- on his own, alderheart is just "guy i don't really care about", same with rootspring and tree, but the more i sit down and think "hm, why are the male characters in the series written this way and the female characters written this way? why are events ordered in a way that constantly shifts attention and sympathy back towards the male characters?" i start to get mad about lots of little tiny details, which in turn make egregious things like "arc 1 legacy character getting unceremoniously fridged by dying in a ditch somewhere for a pittance of character development her boring grandson while all of her male counterparts get comparatively way more respectful or impactful deaths" even worse somehow.

#it's also so tiring to me that when male characters are boring they are given heaps of fanon that make them sweet and memorable #but when female characters are underwritten that side of the fandom is just like 'yup she's boring! i hate her. ignoring her' #i understand that there are few genuinely well-written male characters to latch onto in the series #but people do it with every single male character regardless anyways so it's not like that even matters #i liked a lot of generic niceboy characters when i first joined the fandom but in hindsight it was all just fanon and a sense of obligation #'yeah of course i have to like alderheart and fernsong! they're good soft boys! crowfeather is a funny pathetic guy!' #nowadays i couldnt care less if alderheart and fernsong etc died in a tragic sudden minecraft creeper explosion offscreen #and im actively manifesting that it happen to crowfeather

My Minecraft oc from circa 2015’s lore was that her mom was a scientist that was trying to develop portals into another theoretical unproven dimension but on the day her mom finally tried to go through a constructed portal something misfired and the portal exploded she vanished entirely, people assumed vaporized. But my oc was like no she is out there and began modifying her moms portal design to try stabilizing it and to go after her into the other dimension where she believed her mom had successfully gone but was trapped because portal blowed up. Well where my oc ended up was Minecraft world, a dimension created because of a gamble between life and death. They couldn’t settle whose domain should expand, so they put a third neutral entity named Nocturne alone in the empty realm they both wanted and agreed whether Nocturne decided to live or die would determine whether this space belonged to Life or Death. Basically nocturne did neither. It could see shadows of both realms of life and death and it created longing, blocky simulacrums of the life it saw (Minecraft). The elder dragon was a manifestation of Nocturne, which she would have to defeat to leave. Also my oc did not find her mom but found a dog she named Dog who i meant to imply was the spirit of her mom. If I redid this today it would probably instead just be a dog her mom sent through the portal to test it out. Nocturne was meant to serve doubly as like a metaphor for grief.

Mathew: So. Wil said something about you eating his weed?

Tom: I was hungry and it smelled good, so I ate it. Wil smells like it too but I'm not going to be eating him any time soon. I like him.

Mathew: hmm. Thoughts on mushrooms?

Tom: Oh my god that would be amazing. Don't worry about the type, I eat all of them. I like tasting the life in their flesh and how they scream in ways that you can't hear. They're delightful. Definitely in my top 15 favorite things to munch on, next to wood furniture. Unlike wood, I can smell a ripe shroom from miles away. If I wasn't tied to this pole I would go for the ones sitting behind that boulder over there.

Mathew: I'll be damned! There are mushrooms here! Put down the pick. I have a different job for you.
