Backrooms — Vanishing Point
After his accident with the Low-Proximity Magnetic Distortion System, Daniel Fenton has begun spontaneously traveling to the Backrooms at random. ASYNC sets out to research and test this unique phenomenon.
Fandoms: Danny Phantom, The Backrooms (Kane Pixels)
[Read the first story here first!]
~
Testing log: Experiment KV31-DR001
Participants:
Group A: Catherine Williams, Marvin E. Leigh, David Bright
Group B: Peter Young, Simone Richards, Wyatt Park
Research goal: Determine if humans other than Daniel Fenton have an instinctive sense of the Threshold’s location from within the Backrooms.
Experiment procedures: Groups A and B will journey into the Backrooms together, following standard tethering procedures, until they are out of sight of the Threshold and find an area of the Backrooms with no unique landmarks. Group B will remain out of sight and control the tether while Group A disorientate themselves, then attempt to point out the path back to the Threshold. After Group A has decided which path to take, Group B will return to check if Group A determined the correct path. Group A is not to leave the site of the test unless accompanied by Group B.
Recording of experiment: Below is a transcript of relevant sections of the experiment recording taken by Marvin E. Leigh. The full recording is available upon request.

20 Q's for Fic Writers
Thanks for the tag, @summerssixecho! I enjoyed revisiting my work a bit for this one :)
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
9 (17 over on FFn)
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
243,275
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Primarily Danny Phantom (it’s what got me into writing fanfiction to begin with; in fact, even as an 11-year-old I was writing my own Danny Phantom episodes when it was first coming out), but I also write for DC (either DP crossover or standalone) and Miraculous Ladybug that one time. I have been t e m p t e d to write more ML as well as dabble in a few others, like maybe Ted Lasso or Scooby Doo (couldn’t be more random, I know), but that hasn’t come to be yet. Let's also not forget the DP x The Office au that @tytach and @arken-99 and I were messing around with a while back 😂 I'm still tempted to go somewhere with that. (Tytach did.)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
5) Intervention at 657 kudos - DP - Danny comes home after curfew one final time, and his dad is waiting for him. We give Jack Fenton credit in this house/fic.
4) Beast Within at 910 kudos - DP x DC/Young Justice - Garfield Logan has just lost his mom and is struggling to get his newly developed shapeshifting powers under control. The team calls in Danny for help.
3) Fire with Fire - 956 kudos - DP x MCU Spider-Man - After the Fentons temporarily relocate to Queens for a contract with Stark Technologies, Danny and Peter find themselves embroiled in a conspiracy bringing malicious wraiths to New York City.
2) A Vigilante, a Different Vigilante’s Sister and a Villain Walk Into a Bar - 1,811 kudos - DP x DC - Jazz Fenton and Jason Todd attempt to date amidst unpredictable rogues needing therapy and nosy family members needing gossip fodder. This getting 2nd place is a surprise since it's my newest fic...
1) Recognized - a whopping 3,561 kudos - DP x DC/YJ - After Danny accidentally gets zeta tube access using Robin’s credentials/DNA, the two boys try to find out what happened years ago while unraveling a web of past and present secrets.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Absolutely ALWAYS, and if it’s taking me a bit to reply, just know that I’m going through it irl and I’ll get to responding to everyone ASAP. I love hearing what you guys think of my work and what in particular you’re reacting to/enjoying, so whether it’s fanboying over scenes together or explaining details you might’ve missed or just don’t quite get, I always take the time to show my gratitude for you taking a moment to share your thoughts. :)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Pretty much none of them, to be honest? I always like to try to end on a hopeful note, if not an outright happy one, because I need hope for my own struggles lol. The only candidate I can think of would be The Theorists, but even that’s not an angsty finish. My older oneshot Taking The World by Thunder might count since Lance Thunder doesn't get a happy ending, but it's pretty much a crack fic so I still wouldn't call it angst lol
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Gosh, this is also a hard one because most of them are sort of open-ended and hopeful. I would probably nominate Night One because I love Wally and Connor’s bonding. It gives me the warm fuzzies. I also think Intervention qualifies since it's a wholesome reveal to the Fenton parents instead of the typical catastrophe (I mean, look at the reveal in Recognized, y'all).
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Only every once in a while, and it’s not really hate but more…closed-minded rejection of the fic’s idea. Like on Recognized I’ll occasionally get something along the lines of “this whole thing is confusing and over-complicated” (literally the point) or “this wouldn’t happen” (you’re reading a fic that literally takes place in a world of ghosts and aliens and people with superpowers). Only a couple times someone’s said “this is stupid” and I’m like, if I don’t like someone’s fic, I just move on and let them be because it’s what they wanted to write. Have these people never heard “you do you”?
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
HA. I can barely even write flirting.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Often, usually for DP x DC. The craziest was probably The Theorists because it features almost entirely side characters and their “conspiracy theories” about the main cast. It also wove into the Recognized storyline in the end.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of. Let me know if you find my work anywhere lol I only ever post on my main accounts: agentianlegend on tumblr and AO3 and hiimian over on FFn.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope but I’m open to it
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I’m not big on ships, to be honest. Though I enjoy Jason Todd x Jazz Fenton, and OH in the middle of writing this I remembered other fandoms exist lol. Marichat from ML because they’re both their most relaxed selves. Adrienette is a very close runner-up.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I’ve never published it or shared with anyone, but the first modern fic I wrote was a DP x Teen Titans crossover where Jack and Danny move to Jump City after tragedy takes Maddie and Jazz. Danny wants to lay low and not be a hero as he deals with the loss, but Slade has other ideas. I wrote quite a bit for it, but I don’t know if I’ll finish. It was heavily angsty when I was going through some stuff and needed catharsis. I still have it almost entirely outlined, so theoretically I could finish it. But, I don’t know. Inspired by Into the Dark by InkyIris btw (apparently a rewrite and cross-publishing is in progress on AO3!), one of the OG fics that got me involved back in the fandom.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, characterization, and action scene choreography. Or so I’ve been told lol
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing out scenes when I don’t love the scene as it is. The efficiency side of my brain doesn’t want to waste the energy when I know I’m going to pretty much throw it out and rewrite entirely later on. Also, romance.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Danny Phantom, even before I started publishing. (See the aforementioned episodes I wrote when I was 11.)
20. Favourite fic you've written?
If not Recognized, I would probably say Night One. It’s a quiet fic, and I love those intimate moments when these larger-than-life characters have some hurt/comfort and bonding moments.
-
Well I already mentioned you guys earlier but I'm tagging @tytach and @arken-99 as well as @the-outcast-ed, @tourettesdog and @dp-marvel94!

Murder At The National Gallery - Jim Eldridge: Parte de uma série, Murder At The National Gallery se passa em 1897.

The Eve of the War
Tumblr media
Jeff Wayne
Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds è un album doppio pubblicato nel 1978.

Who’s Got Time For Death, Anyway?
Crossover: Danny Phantom; Spider-Man
Summary: What the actual fudge was New York’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man doing in the gut’s of a G.I.W. base in middle-of-nowhere Illinois?
And in a freaking overgrown test tube no less.
Danny had no idea, but it was probably the reason Tony Stark's ghost was screeching holy murder at the end of the corridor.
Chapter 02 — LINK TO AO3
Danny had heard the news, like everyone else.
But honestly?
The news channels were always more interested in what would bring up their damned ratings than verifying their info, and the amount of shit the Daily Bugle put out by the minute was astronomic .
Danny had experience with misunderstandings and shitty news outlets both. He even had his identity exposed a pair of times, managing to salvage the secret by reverting time or altering reality.
Sam always told him he had horrible luck but also stupidly resourceful friends in stupidly good places.
Spider-Man had lots of friends too, but it seemed like it hadn’t been enough this time.
He had seen videos of the dude getting cats out of trees, helping old ladies cross the street. There was no way. No Freaking Way that he had tried to take over the world or whatever nonsense that Mysterio guy was spouting on national television.
So yeah, the halfa was firmly on the Spidey side of the situacion, even though he lacked a lot of context, but really, who but the really involved in that mess even knew what was going on for real?
As it was, Danny had found one Peter Benjamin Parker and gotten him to Fenton Works as fast as he could, deposited the teen on his bed and then proceeded to make sure that no one would barge in on him while he had a naked super teenage spider burrito on his bed.
He wasn’t feeling like explaining that to his parents, much less them finding out the truth, because that would be even worse . So better just- not do that.
What followed was, as Tony would later oh so helpfully describe, a round of fussing of epic proportions as Danny tried to get Peter as comfortable and non-slimy as possible.
It was very likely that he would need to incinerate some of his bed sheets when he was done, but sacrifices needed to be made for the greater good sometimes and it’s not like this was the first time he had to dispose of his bedding.
He was still mourning his favorite NASA set, which his parents had absolutely drowned in ectoplasm when he was seven.
To be honest Danny had thought that the intermittent glow was a nice touch, but they didn't let him keep it. Pretty hypocritical of them but well. Parents.
This seemed like nothing in comparison .
“I'm never going to forgive them for that one..” he murmured under his breath, elbows deep on his dresser while he tried to find the baggiest clothing he owned because again: Danny felt like a damn noodle.
Danny tried, he really tried, to not get distracted by the memory of the buffness.
Though maybe getting distracted by the thought of the very toned teen was better right now than allowing himself to get lost in the feeling of guilt that had been steadily growing deep on his guts since he processed the fact that Spider-Man had been trapped for who knows how long right under his figurative nose and he hadn’t done anything about it.
He cursed under his breath.
“It’s irrational to feel guilty about it..” he made his way back towards the bed and started cleaning peter’s face and whatever available patches of skin that didn’t compromise Danny's almost nonexistent heart rate the other’s modesty “I didn't even know he was missing to begin with-”  how was he supposed to know the radio silence from Spider-Man was because he was captured to use as a lab rat and not the remaining avengers closing range around the youngest of the group?
Freaking illogical, but apparently his ghost half didn't care .
Danny wondered if it was crazy to argue with your own obsession.
Was it even possible? Because that’s exactly what all this murmuring felt like.
And he was losing against it too.
“Fuck, I hate this-! Not my fault. Nope! It's not. Nonono, he was not under my protection back then so I couldn’t know, shut UP-!”
“O̸̜̩͋̑͑́̍͐͝h̶̢̠̼̳̹̆͒͗̄̌̕?̴̧̬̭̰̟̔̄͋͒͗͆̈́̎̍ ̴̡̧̟̱͔̮̏̂̇̆̑͋̽͠S̸͎̤̈̈̂̋̀́͋̕o̸̢̲̟͖̯̞͖̮̠͊̆̃͝ ̷̧͓͖͈͗̿͑͗͌͌̇̐ḩ̷̡̡͓̥͚̦͌̐͘͠è̷̩̰̮̯̗͈̈́͜ ̶̢͈͕̞̹̥̣̣͇͚̈́̌͂͝i̷͔̾͗̇̈́s̸̢̤͚̙̮̝͎̯̫̈́̏́͒̍̓̑ ̷͉̺̭͚̝͔͖̟̂̀̿̅̾̈́͠n̸̢̳̝̳̥͍̝̤̓̂ŏ̴̧̞̹̠͎͈͙̲͍̌̏͆w̶̡̻̯̩̩̳͉̯̜͓̎͒̐̈?̶̨͍͕̩̤͈͚̣͎̞͐̿́̒͒͛͘͠ “
Danny shrieked.
He wasn’t ashamed to admit it.
…Not right now, at least.
He had the right to do so because he had completely forgotten about the man, who still sounded like a damned psychophony even for the halfa. Danny had a pair of issues with those . Them being inside now was just making the sound worse.
He spun around to point a finger at the man’s faceplate.
“Don’t do that-” He hissed “Bad robot! no-!”  Even with Danny honest to god hissing it didn't seem like the man would listen. Somehow understandable. Not only because he was Tony filthy-freaking-rich Stark but because the man, most likely, couldn’t even tell his voice was practically glitching and thus wouldn't understand Danny’s reaction and request.
“No, don’t-!” Danny interrupted again, raising both arms as if he could somehow keep the other silent by waving them around. “Don’t talk , you are giving me the heebie jeebies.”
“Ë̴͖̙͔́͆͑x̴͓͙͑̚c̒̈́u̴̺̙͍̓̐͋s̴̡̺̈́͆è̷̩̰̮̯̗͈̈́͜ m͚͚͙è̷̩̰̮̯̗͈̈́͜ ??”
Oh. An indigned Tony Stark wasn't the best course of action, was it?
“Wait, hold on , just-” Danny let himself drop to the floor and then wasted no time on wiggling under his bed, and then phasing through it a little when the wiggling was unsuccessful.  “ah ha!” an ectoplasm shot.
He also had the Ecto Dejecto somewhere in here, maybe, but he figured that was too strong for a ghost who was still figuring themselves out. Danny didn't know how much the ghost armor reflected their, uh, original? counterpart so-
Considering he didn't even know what the original could do, or even how many of them there were – even with tucker gushing from time to time about them –, he definitely didn't want to find out via demonstration by a supercharged iron man ghost.
It would be cool, yeah. But painful. He didn't even want to think about the collateral damage, nevermind the unconscious teen that would be unable to dodge whatever hell was unleashed.
So an ectoplasm shot it was.
He had lots of those around the house and amity in general, just in case he needed a boost or a fight went downhill, this one would hopefully be enough to keep the armored man from sounding like the mother of glitches until they could get him into the zone.
“Ok, Come here.”
“W̶̰̤̫̎̚h̵̲͎̮͖͠a̷̘͓̹͈̰̔̓̄̕t̶̳̞̰̳̂̀͊͜?̸̜͎̝̌̚̚ N̵̟͑o̷̩̻̥͛̋̄͐.̶̱̬̳̓̏ ̴̰̒̈́͛W̸̨̨̥̅̆̚̕h̵̢̼̫͗͒a̵̝̓t̶̨̢̨̛̮̓̍'̶̹̩͖͕̊͌s̵͎̙͑́̚ ̴̞̩̠̹͂t̷͕͇͋̂͝h̴͕̾̀̎͑ą̷̢͔̀t̷̖̉-̸̱͕̙͍͒̇?̶̦̰̭̳͐͋̈́̾”
“Less questions, more holding still- ..Ugh, It’s just ectoplasm, ok?” Danny sighed and conceded when the man started to look like a retreat would be his go to option. The reaction to the answer was immediate and clearly visible with the armor’s helmet disengaged
“Don’t make that face at me! Do you want to stabilize or not? We talked about this already, no one but the dead will be capable of sensing you in any way if you keep going like this- also you sound downright horrible . I hate it. Way too much. Stay. Still-”

Oh, well.
No one had ever accused Danny of having good bedside manners.
Never mind when dealing with billionaires.
Danny might or might not have ended up stabbing him a little.
So what?
It was a tiny bity needle anyway, and the man was already dead .
It's not like it mattered that much at this point, Danny had dealt with – and done – much worse-
“Uh..”
And it had worked, so ha!
“Told you” Danny deserves to be smug, he really does.
Tony, meanwhile, was beyond done with this death thing and he wanted to give it back right now, thanks.
“..that makes absolutely no sense”
“it kind of does actually,” when you had some years under your death belt at least, “if you swing your head to the left a little and squint just right -”
His response was a disbelieving look, a look that got interrupted midway when the man got distracted by something over Danny’s shoulder.
It didn't take long to figure out it was by the sight of one Peter Benjamin Parker, still lying pale and weirdly still on the bed. Emotions all over the place, even if his face remained mostly blank. The older superhero was looking at the teen with-
Concern.
Guilt.
Protect-
Oh .
“It’s not your fault either” Danny offered, quietly, then a thought crossed his mind and he murmured under his breath “At least I hope it isn’t ”
That gained him some indigned spluttering from the man.
That was a no, then.
“Sorry old man, nothing personal.” The sputtering stopped, but Tony still looked offended. Danny wasn't sure if it was still about the implication or because of the old thing. It didn’t really matter. “I just have bad experiences with billionaires”
A raised eyebrow. “How many do you even know ?”
“One too many.” Danny sighed. “And you, now, so that’s two I suppose”
He didn't really get a response beyond a distracted hum because Tony’s attention had gone right back at Peter. After a moment the man replied.
“It is sort of my fault.” At Danny’s little frown he proceeded “Not directly, mind you, but the Mysterio fiasco was all on me, the kid shouldn't have needed to deal with the fall out.”
And so, explanations ensued.
Danny winced through a good chunk of them.
“Yikes”
“Yeah” Tony grimaced, and then grimaced harder after catching a glance of the new bright green of his armor. He would have to do something about that later. Peter was a priority right now.
“So, after his identity got out things went tits up, the government got greedy- color me surprised- then what?”
“Do I look like I know what the fuck is going on in the head of those morons-? No, don’t answer that. I don’t. There. Short answer. Easy digestion. All you need to know is-” Tony glanced back at Peter, pretty concerned by the null signs of recovery because “he should already be better, whatever nasty chemicals they put on him are messing with his metabolism”
Umh, considering it had been the GIW then there weren't really many options, and it’s not like Danny hadn’t thought about it before this.
“Far frozen it is, then” at the questioning look he elaborated before the man got started with the questions. Again. “Allies of mine, they are good with health things. Got me out of tight spots more than a couple of times.”
And thus, Danny started to arrange things for the trip with Tony’s curse packed rambling as background noise.
“-Fuckin Ross. Fucking HYDRA. Fucking Government- When I get a grip on this and go back, and I will , they are going to try and put a damn leash around me and the kid. Oh, I want them to try, I dare them to try- ”
“I mean, you are technically no longer under US jurisdiction- is that what is called?“. Tony turned around, so Danny continued. “You know, being dead and all? Sorry, I keep forgetting beginners are queasy about that word at first. “
“Beginners..” Tony repeated the word. It didn’t make a difference. “What is this, a netflix subscription?”
“Yeah, but the free trial period never ends. It’s a whole deal around here, you get used to it” Danny winced after a pair of seconds, “sorry. Too much. I mean, you don’t necessarily have to stay here, here, to get it, but you do need-”
Tony waved him off, they could get back to that later if necessary. “You said I'm no longer under US jurisdiction. Then who’s? There’s got to be someone trying to call the shots even in death, the maniacs”
Danny nodded, a little nervous. “Uh.. there are- royals? in the zone? And the observants. But nobody gives a fuck about them- Oh, and some democracies too, but those are pretty young in comparison and most of the ghosts are ancient as fudge, so- actually, scratch that, I'm pretty sure you can find almost every type on there if you search long enough, but most ghosts just run on Anarchy Mode, the damn jerks-”
“Whoa whoa I’m gonna need you to stop there, Casper.” Once the teen seemed to give Tony his attention the man continued, “The ‘Zone’?”
“Yeah, the Ghost Zone” at Tony's look Danny remembers- “Oh man..you are new, like, really new. Of course. Yeah, ok. Since the beginning then”
This was going to take a while.
-.-.-.-
“Who were those guys anyway?”
“The G.I.W. or Guys In White”
“The what ?”
“I know, dude-” Danny sighed. “I know .”

MAIDSTONE STROKE GROUP
JANUARY NEWSLETTER 2022
📷
Its all over and we hope you all had a very good Christmas and New Year and
now we start a brand new year, and look forward to a much better year than 2021. With we hope it being safer to go out and try to have as near a normal life as before covid, so as a group we have already Brick Lane in Febuary and Bournemouth weekend in May to look forward to and also our first Quiz night in April to start our Fundraising so we can continue to enjoy our future outings.
BOROUGH TOPS LIST OF BLUE BADGE FINES
Thousands of fines have been issued to drivers who have parked in disabled bays without blue badges across kent in the last three years. Nearly 30,000 penalty notices were dished out between January 2018 and August 2021. Income goes towards maintaining “frontline services” and enforcement functions. A freedom of information request carried out by the Local Democracy Reporting Service found Maidstone recorded the highest number of cases on and off-street, with 7,229 fines. Borough council leader David Burton
( con ) said: “The enforcement team are doing a good job.
“If there are people blocking spaces reserved for disabled drivers who need better access to the shopping, and other things, it needs to be looked at”.
This I'm sure is a pain for those of us needing a blue badge and can't use disabled spaces because LAZY people or some driving a large 4x4 and can't park in a normal space because the car is to big for them, sorry but this is a pet hate of mine.
Article by Peter Fenton excerpts from local paper
DISABILITY AMBASSADOR TO CALL TIME ON PUBS
Sadly, too many of us know the frustration of not being able to get into a pub, restaurant or hotel. Now we have a NEW GOVERNMENT appointed yet again 'disability ambassador', Kate Nicholls, to head up the Government's National Disability Strategy ( NDS ) to try and improve things. With a 'vision to improve the everyday lives of disabled people', the launch of the NDS has also seen the appointment of disability ambassadors across other sectors including airports and creative industries. The aim is to pursue the GOAL of EQUAL access to services in these sectors for everyone in the UK.

1 HOUR OF NEED
999 stroke and heart attacks wait doubles to 54mins
Ambulance wait times after a heart attack or a stroke have doubled to nearly an hour. And lives are now at risk as paramedics are so overwhelmed, experts say. The NHS target for category two calls, including heart attacks and strokes, is 18 minutes. But England's average response time has more than doubled since May to 53 minutes, 54 seconds. Richard Webber, from the College of Paramedics, said: “Patients are waiting too long and that is putting them at risk”. The long waits come as 999 calls hit a record 1,012,143 in October and crews attended 423,000 category two incidents. Wait times for life-or-death category one cases are also up, to nine minutes and 20 seconds when the target is seven. Margaret Root, 82, of Cheltenham, Gloucs, waited nearly six hours for an ambulance after a stroke and then waited three hours outside hospital. When she was finally admitted, it was too late to give her drugs to reverse the effects. An all-time high of 121,000 A&E patients waited more than four hours for a bed last
month. And 7,059 waited longer than 12 hours-ten times higher than the 725 in
October 2019. Dr Kathrine Henderson, of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, said: “This is the beginning of a crisis. Patient safety is at risk”. 121,000 A&E patients waited 4hrs for bed last month – a record.

CAMPAIGNERS LOSE FIGHT AS STROKE UNITS TO CLOSE
The health secretary has confirmed half of Kent's hospital stroke units will close, replaced by three new “hyper acute” centres-with one in Maidstone. Campaigners have been fighting to keep the stroke services at Medway, Margate and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals. But after a long-wrangled battle with the NHS and a series of legal challenges, health secretary Sajid Javid approved the Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group's ( CCG ) plan to create the new network. The new Hyper Acute Stroke Units ( HASUs ) will be based at Maidstone Hospital, Darent Valley and Ashford – all of which currently have specialist wards. Campaigners argued a wider geographical spread was vital to ensure patients could receive quick treatment as close to home as possible. But the NHS says its stroke review will provide “very specialist care” and will improve the treatment available and “save a life a fortnight compared to previous configuration”. Dr David Hargroves, senior stroke consultant said: “All patients, no matter where they live in Kent and Medway, will benefit from being admitted to units able to provide excellent stroke care 24 hours a day, seven days a week”. Several of us from Maidstone stroke group were involved in discussions at seminars and meetings regarding stroke services over several years all our comments were noted at each meeting.

DEMENTIA DIAGNOSIS BREAKTHROUGH
Researchers are testing an artificial intelligence system that could diagnose dementia after a single scan. It may also be able to predict whether the condition will remain stable for many years, slowly deteriorate or need immediate treatment. Currently, it can take several scans and tests to diagnose dementia. Earlier diagnoses with the system could greatly improve patient outcomes by earlier intervention to slow down the progression of the disease and avoid more damage. The AI compares brain scans of those worried they
might have dementia with those of thousands of dementia patients and their relevant medical records. It can identify patterns in the scans even expert neurologists cannot see and match them to patient outcomes in its database.

OUR CHRISTMAS DINNER
Our christmas dinner on the 9thDecember at the insperation suite went very well with the added bonus of live music. It was very good to see Marie, Ann B, accompanied by her daughter and Bob also accompanied by his daughter it was excellent to see them. I would like to say a huge Thankyou to all for the raffle prizes and work that went in to organising the event, everyone so far seemed to enjoy the event this year and that would be an astounding success so all involved well done. Look forward to 2022.

JOHNS NOTICE BOARD
I would firstly like to wish each and everyone of you a most joyous, prosperous and trouble-free 2022, and hope our outings and events are not curtailed again by the dreaded covid omicron.
ONE. It appears by the feedback I had that by and large the xmas dinner at the village hotel was a reasonable success. After a shaky start from Geoff stephens stand-in, Rick stills , the music was a welcome inclusion to our xmas fare, with some of us cavorting around to shake off the excess food that we ate. I am glad Ann bowie was able to make it thanks to her granddaughter Briini, and Bob sawyer and his daughter Emma. And our own Marie shaw, courtesy of a taxi sharing arrangement with Barry & Mavis. We also had from afar Roger & Diane ferris, from deal and district stroke club, who so kindly made us a hamper for our raffle, and I would like to thank them for that kind gesture. The village hotel donated a raffle for a break to be had at the venue, which was won by Kathy, enjoy!!. Now there was one oversight and that was the tea/coffee & mince pies that was included, unfortunately, it was a small second page addition to the menu that I nearly missed myself. However Emma.d. From the village has apologised for that blip, and suggests if we were to return 2022 she would ensure they were complimentrary and include festive chocolates as well.
TWO. Some of you did donate to our stroke group by way of our xmas card fund, which was not prominently displayed or talked about, my fault entirely as there was a lot going on at the time, and I had been rather busy with my xmas tree selling this year, which kinda took over my life for 4 weeks with me selling 540 trees this year ( a record ).
THREE. We are fast approaching our annual event to Brick lane on Weds 23rdfeb 2022, we are hoping all will be well this year and we don't get scuppered again. We have 40 people booked in for this at £50 p.p. There are still 11 more people to pay and can I ask you to settle by the 18th jan ( our 2ndjanuary meeting ) there will be a brookline coach leaving Tovil club at 10.45/11 a.m. The show is robin hood and his camp followers and includes a 3-course lunch.
FOUR. Just a reminder that I have to pay the final balance for Bournemouth 4 night break at the sands hotel on 15th April 2022, so I will need All monies in before that date thankyou, most have already paid £30 deposit so your remainder would be £255 p.p.
FIVE. Well our last mince pie meeting of the 21st dec saw an old face return, by way of mary law, not seen her for a while so it was nice of her husband to drop her off, so she could catch up on all things new. And talking of new we had a new member join us, Kevin malley, who has been on the periphery for a while, keeping in touch by phone and keeping up to date by newsletter. He has also booked his place with his significant other half for the 2022 panto. So welcome Kevin.
