The thing about fortune telling with cards 'aka' cartomancy is that you're between two major styles:

Tipe of deck

Use non based in reality cards.

Use high based in reality cards.

Secret third option (not necessarily better).

Tipe of consultation

Specific question about a specific topic.

The classic combo (love, work, money, health, family).

Has no fucking clue.

Non-based in reality cards

Here are classic tarot decks like the Marseille style ones and the very old ones like the Visconti-Sforza and any deck that has almost no root in tangible concepts. Yes, there is a Pope and there is a Sun and a Moon but you will never be close enough to call them 'tangible' in a everyday life context. That's the exact same reason they can answer almost any question*. Here are also playing card decks in the context of abstract type of reading interpreatation.

Doesn't matter if you were a high aristocrat or a humble baker's daughter, the Sun shines for everyone the same way Death will come for all of us. These decks are perfect for specific questions and the development of specific situations but kinda vague with general topics like Work and Love. They will answer? Of-fucking-course they will but keep in mind that this kind of reading will demand more steps:

Symbol -> Symbolic meaning -> Tangible situation.

And the final conclusion will still be vague without an additional layer of meanings because our mind will see the literal object before the simbolic information. This cards are also vague with the third kind of consultation (I don't know what to ask :3) but vague answers to vague questions, what were you expecting hahshasha.

(*Althought they will answer ANY question this doesn't mean that the answer will be more easy to understand. You could ask the exact number of atoms in the universe but good luck trying to extract any comprehensible information from the reading.)

Highly based in reality cards

In this category we have the sibyls and other oracles that have specific cards for specific everyday life situations:

The House, Money, Happiness, a Meeting, receiving a Message, sudden Luck, sudden Misfortune, Travel, Love, Marriage, etc.

These decks are born with the concept of fortune telling in mind. This can be the actual deck design or the meaning associated with every card. Old school tarot cartomancy is also here (+ the advantages from above). La Sibilla Italiana, traditional meanings for spanish/french/german/etc playing cards, Kipper cards and more.

These decks are vague with specific topics UNLESS the topic itself can be expressed within the cards of the deck. If your question can be related to any of their cards is your lucky day because these decks will answer with a lot of actual details, easy to understand and read.

But another of their advantages is that you can see the Classic Combo type of reading in a more efficient and accurate way. There are less steps in the interpretation:

Everyday life scene -> Tangible situation.

The House will usually be your house, Money will usually be money. Less steps are less loss in the translation from illustration to meaning. And this is the reason they're also excellent with I don't know what to ask :3 readings, cuz the deck itself with will give you a significator to focus the reading on.

Althought their advantages they are restricted to their own meanings. The can't adapt like symbolic decks without falling into more frustrating steps:

Everyday life scene -> Symbol -> Symbolic meaning -> Tangible situation.

The best path is to use them exclusively for everyday fortune telling readings and let the symbolic decks take care of the qustions beyond this field.

Secret third options

And of course that's not all pals! We still have a lot of decks that are either symbolic or straight up literal. The first one I can think of is Petit Lenormand. Althought the deck itself is usually used for everyday questions its cards are symbolic, so we face both the advantages and cons of both type of decks. Old school tarot could also be here.

My final thoughts in this dilemma is to use one Symbolic deck and one Literal deck (marseille tarot + kipper cards). I don't use the Petit Lenormand or third secret oprion decks because I think they do a lot of things but none of them with the excellence a specific deck can do in that specific situation.

Le Très Grand Tableau - November 2023

Decided I'd try again a tableau for a monthly spread and saw the Lady a bit cornered. Not sure what I'm suppose to do so I'll just chain the house and look for meeting points. Also, I don't really need a past reading on myself ...

Let's start with the Lady in House of Anchor : Not sure it is goal-focused girl, more Not-Moving-Girl. I am in standby for a last interview this month ... but also feel stuck in all aspect of my life ( understand : weight loss is my second obsession after money/work )

Anchor is in House of High Tower : ... this is literal. I'm literally stuck at home. And yes, kinda feeling lonely since my SO is on a big project. But this is fine, I do like when this happen cause it gives me more freedom ... Usually. Now, if we play with Near and Far method, farther is the Anchor, the less stable the Significator is. And it is totally true as far as I'm concern. Without the stability, I'm not moving on much project.

High Tower is in House of Letter : well, this should be about receiving communication I guess. Or like a post office ? Receiving and giving out ? Sounds like communication with officials too.

Letter is in House of Heart : this is easy, some news about love or more realistic : a subject of matter, something important to me. According to Rana George, if the Letter is near, than it won't take time to arrive or its subject is of importance. As for the subject, I look at the meeting points : Cats and Snake ... looks like some nice words and temporary trouble.

Heart in House of Bacchus : Looks like a party. A good news despite the Snake/Cats ? The meeting points only tell of Sick Bed. So I don't know.

Bacchus in House of Train : A moving party ? A party in a train ? Party coming over ? Going out ? Ok to be honest, the combo of Letter in Heart, Heart in Bacchus and Bacchus in Train push me to think the remote job I applied to will be mine. But that could be wishful thinking ...

Train in House of Bouquet : this is kinda confirming the previous. A good surprise coming, a public good surprise ?

Bouquet in House of Clouds : But it is not perfection in paradise. There's some blur about that nice thing.

Clouds in House of Sun : Yeah, that good bouquet isn't a complete victory. The Clouds are in the past, there's that. Also, they are far, so there's that too.

Sun in House of Lady ( wow, that was short ) : Victory nonetheless. But still ... in the past and with Clouds coming after that Sun so ... not that much victorious ...

Thoughts on divination that I had after writing the title “thoughts on divination”

I don’t know what divination is. If you asked me what divination is, I could talk your ear off about it (and at length). But nothing in that unfiltered spiel would resemble anything close to a conclusion.

Does it matter? 

Divination works regardless of ontological backing, the form is irrelevant to function. The easy answer then is that the “how” and “why” of the operation would be irrelevant--purely academic--and for brighter minds than me. However, that lack of a conclusion runs directly parallel to the operation itself. Divination is not conclusive. The cards or birds or stones don’t have the answers. Not with the clarity and certainty of a calculator. No more definite than anything else filtered by the human mind. In that context, yes, it absolutely matters.

The “how’s” and “why’s” of divination matter in the same way the cards matter to the actions. They will contextualize, they will extrapolate, they will not carry the ball over the goal line.

When you come to the question of “why this works” you should not expect to come away with a clear answer, no precise mathematical set of tables that proves the efficacy of the work. There’s no program you can hit “execute” on and it’ll quantify the behaviors of your petite lenormand. But you should come.

Approach those questions as you would your placidus chart for geomancy. Ask them to tell you a story. Wander in the uncertainties of universal calculations or the words of spirits or the happenstance of fate. Let them all exist at once. Let them collaborate. And at the end of it, let them teach you about your own practice. Then do that over and over again for the rest of your life.

Magic isn’t a field of a/b formulas and stone-etched conclusions. It’s a field of uncertainty, of paradox. In that paradox we find truth.

I ask not that you refuse to pick up the “useless” questions. I ask that you grasp them and hold them tight. Work them around your mouth like a jawbreaker. Fuck around before you ever find out. And the whole while, keep throwing those cards. The only time you’ll ever be wrong is when you stop.

Well, I think this is the final list of cards for my own fortune-telling deck.

It's basically a Frankenstein monster (not the Doctor haha) from multiple fortune-telling decks from Europe (sadly). Divination in México is mostly based in spanish playing cards and the Rider-White-Pixie Tarot, and oh boy! Both of them are a headache.

Spells with Lenormand - A Comprehensive Guide

Did you know that the Lenormand Deck can be used to intensify the energies of spells and rituals - and even as the foundation of simple or complex spells?

✹ The Petit Lenormand deck is an enchanted oracle consisting of 36 cards. The origin of the name is attributed to the French fortune teller, Marie Anne Adelaïde LeNormand, also known as Madame Lenormand. These cards were found along with her belongings and popularized, due to the undeniable fame of the fortune teller, being known as accurate and “surgical” in her predictions.

Each card has an egregore that can be accessed and directed to the intention placed on the magical activity you are performing. The methods for using each card (you can use more than one card in the same spell) vary and this is a field relatively unexplored and commented on in the literature of Witchcraft and Magic with Oracles. So there is plenty of room for you to create your own methods and develop unique personal practices.

*It's a good idea to have a spell-only deck dedicated to that purpose. This will make it easier to magically use it, and also prevent you from forgetting to purify it before using it for magic. It's okay if you use the same deck for both, but be extra careful with cleansings, especially before casting spells with it!

✹ Method 1: Using the Card on the Altar

This is the most common, and many people do it instinctively! Choose the most appropriate card for your magical work at the moment (eg The Heart for a love potion) and place it in the center or somewhere on your altar.

*Instead of one, you can use two or more cards. In that case, how about arranging them in the sequence that is closest to the reality you want to create? Think as if you were doing a card reading, but with the cards you want to read.

✹ Method 2: Energization

Here, the card itself is the center of the spell. You will use other elements to make a beautiful and decorative organization around the card (or cards), preferably on your altar, whose purpose is to gather and direct energies for your purpose.

Choose crystals and herbs with properties similar to your intention. Crystals must be pre-cleansed and energized for intent, and you can use as many as you like. The amount of herbs used is also a personal choice. A tip is to follow your intuition when decorating with herbs and crystals, making mandalas or shapes that have to do with your intention.

Once assembled, the "decorative" spell with the card(s) in the deck should be left to send the energy for a few days. During this time, you can regularly remove and re-energize the crystals and replace the herbs so that they remain at their fullest potential. If you want to power it up further, when taking herbs to make the switch, burn them in the cauldron and direct the energy into the spell.

✹ Method 3: Enchantments

This method involves creating a rhyming verse that has to do with your situation and the chosen card. It's best to do it with a single blade.

Once the verse is done, recite it over the letter as many times as you like. For more effect, repeat several times a day - create a routine if possible. For example, recite the incantation three times when you wake up, three times after lunch, and three times before bed.

You can combine enchantments with the other methods mentioned, to further enhance your spell.

✹ Method 4: Visualization

This is the simplest method, but it's more up to you. You can light an appropriately colored candle if you want to help, but there's no need.

Take the card chosen for your situation and arrange the room so that it is half-lit (neither too bright nor too dark). Sit comfortably and hold the letter, staring at it without thinking about anything.

Breathe deeply, calmly. Empty your head as you breathe in and out deeply, always looking at the card. When you are relaxed, talk to the card, make a simple mantra that has to do with the situation. It can be the same as the incantation, or some simpler phrase, without needing to be rhymed.

Close your eyes and visualize that you are inside the card, you are part of it now. Make your request and be very clear on your intention. Be silent for a while, until you feel that you have absorbed everything, and open your eyes. It's done.

✹ Choosing Lenormand Cards for Magical Use

I decided to add some magic usage tips for each of the cards according to different needs. All these are aspects that can be invoked from the symbology of the card, with applications in magic. There are many other aspects to be explored and you'll find that some cards are more useful than others for magic, but there are situations where these little-used blades fit like a glove! Therefore, it is necessary to analyze each situation very carefully when determining the cards chosen for the spell.

Likewise, there are several ways to determine which herbs and crystals are most appropriate for each situation; in general, try to choose ingredients that match your specific intention. Analyze planetary and elemental influences if possible as well. It's best that you have some understanding of the Cards in general before trying to use them for spells. If you have just started using Lenormand, do a meditation activity for 36 days, one day with each card, to awaken the understanding of each one of them (combined with studying and reading about all its practical symbologies for oracular and magical use).

● 01. The Knight: Move some situations, bring news about a subject, send or receive messages, implement plans, bring the energy for things to move, remove impediments, speed things up.

- Suggested use: Ginger or coffee to speed up/energize something.

● 02. The Clover: Dealing with obstacles, having your effort rewarded, favoring luck, bringing resources and returns, achieving what you want.

- Suggested use: Lemon grass with to bring luck.

●  03. The Ship: Favoring travel, bringing adventures, starting or ending a cycle, finding new horizons, sending someone out of your life, putting plans in motion.

- Suggested use: Pineapple for travel, adventures and putting your plans in motion.

● 04. The House: Domestic matters, giving stability and comfort, real estate and properties, things related to family and ancestry.

- Suggested use: Anis for good relationships and stability.

● 05. The Tree: Fertility, making something grow, prosperity, protection and security, wards, comfort. Fair return on your actions, balance, free from prisons and bonds.

- Suggested use: Oregano for any of the above intentions.

● 06. The Clouds: Clear confusion, clear the mind and goals, make a decision, remove loneliness, be at peace with your feelings, patience, calm, see the situation as it really is, without victimism or drama.

- Suggested use: Cilantro for any of the above intentions.

Bom, continuando a contar as coisas das semanas que passaram e eu não escrevi, percebi que eu não tenho muita ambição na aula de carro kkkkk o instrutor querendo com unhas e dentes que a empresa dele cresça, vá pro interior pra ele ter bastante lucro e assim conseguir uma fazenda com cuidador e tals, e eu só querendo ter um emprego bacaninha, comprar uma casa com espaço pra árvores frutíferas e uma piscina (acho que é a única coisa de "luxo" que quero) kkkkk

Pensei em ser uma bruxa missangueira, mas sou muito cri cri pra isso, tava pensando em fazer umas coisas de osso depois com sementes, mas o processo para uma pessoa com nenhum dinheiro e os formatos são o problema, mas a idéia não morreu.

Meu amigo me passou um feitiço pra aumentar a conexão e fiz, o quarto ficou com outra vibe bem mais leve.

Eu faço um monte de coisa, mas minha mente sempre ignora mais da metade e assim acabo pensando que não tô fazendo nada 🤡 ontem eu tava vivendo tão na intensidade que meu cérebro nem teve tempo de pensar isso e o tanto de sorte que tive não tá contado kkkk
