Okay, so I was thinking about troll speculative biology curtesy of @theoldandnewfirm and this isn't exactly a biology thing, but I think most species of troll hate water/rain.

Hear me out.

Trolls are made of living stone, so I'm assuming they don't quite have the durability of actual stone, if going for the idea their skin is the only thing being made of a stone-like substance and its more like a flexible, thin exoskeleton. And of course rain contains carbonic acid, a result of carbon dioxide mixing with water in the air.

So I'm thinking maybe long exposure to rainfall, of different acidity, would maybe weaken their stone skin or cause a rash? And of course large bodies of open water are generally avoided, since trolls would sink like, well, a rock. This is a naturally inbuilt aversion to a significant majority of troll species but there are always outliers. It also depends on the type of Stone a troll is made of. If its a hard stone like granite or a soft stone like marble.

The side novels introduce us to deep sea trolls and we can't forget the Quagawumps as being Marsh trolls and the swamp/river trolls we see when Jim becomes a half-troll. Their skin is slightly more lubricant and they're generally more squat. There isn't deep water to avoid though.

I think with changelings it comes down to preferences, since their stone isn't as hard as a full trolls and they're probably spliced with different troll tribes, including more water based ones. We know NotEnrique isn't a fan of water, and I doubt Nomura would be either, but that more so based on the fact she wouldn't want her hair wet.

Strickler I'd think is a anomaly. I know his remark about being a keen swimmer was probably, most likely, a innuendo. But what if it had some basis of truth? His stone skin is quite smooth and 'soft' looking compared to other trolls, and the adaptations to his body that allow for flight would help in the water. Aka light bones, thin limbs and large lung size.

Goblins on the River

Scene: A Rickety Raft Bobbing Along the Murky Waters of the Glimmering River

(Four goblins, Gobnob, Snizzle, Grubwort, and Muddles, huddle on a barely buoyant raft made of gnarled wood and hope. The current is swift, and the mood is a blend of trepidation and exhilaration.)

Gobnob: (Gripping the raft with one hand and his hat with the other) I told you this was a bad idea. Rivers are for fish and... other wet things.

Snizzle: (Paddling with a stick) Nonsense! It's like the tea party, but with more... potential for drowning.

Grubwort: (Looking over the edge) Do you think there are river trolls? I heard they're like regular trolls but with an affinity for moisture and bad poetry.

Muddles: (Steering the raft with a large leaf) Focus, crew! We must navigate these treacherous waters with the grace of a swan and the cunning of a... well, of a goblin.

Gobnob: Grace? We have the coordination of a three-legged dragon in a dance-off!

Snizzle: (Squinting ahead) Hey, what's that up ahead? Rapids? No, it's a waterfall!

Grubwort: (Panicking) Waterfall? I didn't sign up for involuntary flight lessons!

Muddles: Steady! We need a plan. Gobnob, use your hat as a sail! Snizzle, paddle with the rhythm of a panicked heart! Grubwort, stop looking for trolls!

Gobnob: (Holding his hat up) This is either going to be a brilliant escape or a spectacular way to bathe.

Snizzle: (Paddling furiously) I can't believe I'm saying this, but... faster, Gobnob, faster!

Grubwort: (Peering downriver) There's a branch! A big, sturdy branch! If we can just grab onto—

(The raft hits the branch, spinning into a sudden, ungainly pirouette.)

Muddles: Now, pull! With all your goblin might!

(They all heave, managing to narrowly avoid the waterfall, the raft lurching into a calmer stream.)

Gobnob: (Breathless) We're alive! And only moderately soaked!

Snizzle: (Laughing) See? What did I tell you? An adventure!

Grubwort: Next time, let's stick to tea... on solid ground.

Muddles: Ah, but where's the fun in that? Onward, my brave crew, for the river still calls!

(The raft floats away, the laughter and bickering of the goblin crew fading into the sounds of the rushing river.)

Despite only appearing in fifteen episodes over the show's more than 60 year history, Alex Kingston left an indelible mark on Doctor Who, bringing to life one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise: River Song. Along with being the woman the Doctor married, River was a captivating character with a complicated history. She danced up and down the Doctor's life as their love story, which transcended time, saw the two constantly meeting out of order. Kingston's last on-screen apperance as River took place over eight years ago in the Christmas special, "The Husbands of River Song." The episode seemingly served as an end to her story, as she and the Doctor spent one last (twenty-four year long) night on Darillium together. However, that hasn't stopped audiences from hoping to see River again — and maybe fans just might get their wish.

Kingston stopped by MegaCon in Orlando, FL this weekend to speak on the "Women of Sci-Fi" panel. When asked which Doctor she would like to see River team up with that we haven't seen her with yet, Kingston enthusiastically named Ncuti Gatwa, calling him "a twinkly badass too," referring to a description she'd given her own character earlier in the panel. While there hasn't been any announcement made indicating a return for Kingston, she did indicate that perhaps we haven't seen the last of River Song: "It was such a wonderful journey and the journey may still continue," she said. "Who knows? I mean can you imagine just flying the Tardis and going to all those incredible different dimensions in time and space. I mean, it's been an amazing journey and I fly the Tardis better than he does."

Luckily, Kingston is no stranger to playing this character opposite a range of Doctors. Though the majority of her episodes were with Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor, the ER actress also appeared opposite David Tennant's Tenth Doctor and Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor. When asked if she felt that her character changed at all from Doctor to Doctor, Kingston said:

"No, I don't think my character differed, actually. She just sort of adapted to the personalities of each new Doctor. I mean, essentially, it's the same spirit but in a new body a little bit like when a snake sheds its skin. So it was sort of more like, oh hello. This is another facet of the person that I love that suddenly kind of opened up to me. And so I always found it's actually super exciting working then with a new incarnation of the doctor." The Salamander Army was a band who's fame exploded in Volcano Rock City before King Thrash even rose as King of Rock.

They had a complicated history of a Roomie Situationship to Aspiring Rock Band to Co-Parents to Husbands (in this exact order).

As must as I love and adore this sillies, they're more than everything a colateral damage of me wanting to create a bf to Floyd, then giving said bf some lesbian mothers and THEN deciding to make parents for one of his mothers and then I went down hill- Don't ask how my brain works ok, I just gave up the wheel for the autism-
