people rightly criticize how team 7 reacted to sasuke's pursuit of justice for his clan, but one thing i feel is always overlooked in these discussions is how sakura literally is not granted the option by the narrative to learn about what sasuke has been through — not in the way that naruto, kakashi, or even team taka are. throughout all of part 2, she is operating under the assumption that sasuke killed itachi and then turned on the village for no apparent reason.

in part 1, she offers to help sasuke with his plan to kill itachi and even says she'll come with him so he won't have to handle a clearly dangerous and unstable sannin alone. she tells him she wishes he would be more open with her because she wants to understand what he's going through. (all of this stands in stark contrast to naruto, who says he'll break every bone in sasuke's body to bring him back, or kakashi, who projects his own traumas on to sasuke.) then in part 2, she can't bring herself to hurt him despite ample opportunity and even though (as far as she knows) he's become a violent criminal. throughout the series, she's averse to inflicting harm on others (aside from the punching naruto gag). is it really so unreasonable to imagine that if she knew sasuke was avenging the state-sponsored genocide of his clan, she would respond differently? with more empathy and compassion for his circumstances, and anger of her own towards konoha?

#people never factor this into their sakura discussions and it does upset me #like no offence but no one raised in konoha is going to have a political awakening where they realize how awful the system is #without some major catalyst (ie what happened to sasuke's clan) and she never gains access to that information #it's also been pointed out that her speech to him at tvote2 is really stupid and like. i agree #but if all she knows about the situation is from naruto and kakashi @ sasuke saying he's given into hate or whatever #of course that is going to be her response? like what else would she even say. she doesn't know what's going on LMAO😭 #don't get me wrong i think in canon (pt1-2) their relationship has a whole body of issues but a bunch of them are intrinsically tied to thi #uchiha sasuke #haruno sakura #sasusaku #this is not really a shipping post but that's my tag for their relationship in any form sorryyy #naruto meta

An interesting little fun thing with team 7 is that you assume that Sakura's gonna, like, woobify and simplify Sasuke by putting him on a pedastal,cause her goal is centered around him and shes a 12 y/o fangirl so like of course her understanding of him is skewed cause she doesnt see him as a person, just an object of affection, right? She's can't get Sasuke, can't imprint on and/or traumabond with him like Naruto and Kakashi do. They don't see him with rose tinted glasses, because they've lived through their own Horrors and empathize with Sasuke's experience.

WRONG lmao!! They have too many ghosts!! Naruto's single-minded codependent ass won't get out of his own way long enough to see Sasuke for who he actually is, only able to empathize with the parts of his trauma Naruto relates to and not really capable of understanding him outside of the context of himself (because Sasuke is. His other half). And Kakashi is far too jaded to be fair to him!! He can't decide if Sasuke is gonna end up as a mini-him or a mini-Obito or maybe a mini-Itachi, but either way he ALSO is too traumatized to see Sasuke AS SASUKE.

Seriously, when she's not being torn down by straight men for her appearance, "uselessness", and "lacking" talents; she's getting torn down by straight women who only use her as ship bait or overwrite her actual character and personality-- making her a completely different person entirely.

And if that weren't bad enough, she gets pushed to the side once again by gay people who see her as the annoying tag along for their Sasuke/Naruto ship! The only consolation prize Sakura gets is people shipping her with Ino, but even then, she's more likely to be written as the third wheel "mean lesbian" trope of the M/M pair. STILL sidelining her but trying to put a progressive coat of paint on it. I'm not even getting into Boruto either; ppl dunk on her for unknowingly acting as Sasuke's beard and being a single mom bro...

The literal series shunts her to the side in favor of SNS. Everything she tries to do to help her teammates is seen as either ineffective, or it gets completely negated by another character-- in this case, Naruto. I don't even need to get into the author's poor treatment of her either like u already KNOW. Sakura's the only character I can think of that had both the fandom and series writers hating on her, for 15 years I might add, during the manga's run and still counting. Please god, Sakura deserves to win something in her life!

Sasuke and Itachi stuck in a limbo like Naruto and Sasuke after their final battle. They both pour their hearts out to each other. Itachi lets Sasuke know how much he was hurting leaving Sasuke alone and having to make him go through hell. Adult Itachi's soul comforts little Sauske from afar. He watches over him. His guilt doesn't let his shadow fall on Sasuke because Itachi believes he isn't good enough to be close to his little brother.

And teen Sasuke pouring his feelings out to Itachi how hard it was for him to hate his brother. How every day without him was nothing but a world jumbled and distorted into something he didn't understand, so to make the world make sense he clung to his hatred. And hating hurt even more.

Sasuke helping Itachi forgive himself, telling him he deserves it. They're dead and they don't have to take the burden anymore.

Sasuke is free from the burden of being the last surviving Uchiha and Itachi is free from the burden of crimes he was forced into.

Little Sasuke comforts his brother because he knows Itachi is suffering. That's the only thing he can do.
