Fraw Holt or Dame Holda, the northern witch-goddess travelling upon her sacred goose through the night.
“Frau Holda , Venus Mountain and The Night Travellers
From the 10th Century c.e. onwards Frankish clerics and churchmen such as Regino of Prum fulminated sourly against the devilish ' belief of 'certeine wicked women that in the night times they ride abroad with Diana, the goddess of the pagans, or else with Herodias, with an innumerable multitude upon certeine beasts. This was echoed in the fourteenth century law-code of Lorraine which censured those who rode through the air with Diana. The image of the Wild Ancestral Goddess had a powerful influence upon the mediaeval imagination; the author of ‘The Romance of the Rose' wote that a third of the people have dreams of nocturnal journeys with Dame Habondia.
In Northern Europe, the sect of night travelling witches were held to fly through the sky in the retinue of the goddess Herodias or Holda, who leads the ancestral spirits of the Furious Horde in the winter months around Samhain and Yule. Like the Cymric goddess Cerridwen, Frau Holda is the archaic underworld Earth Mother, mistress of death, initiation and rebirth, who rules over the chthonic realm of Hel or Annwvyn. In Scandinavia she is known as Hela, the daughter of Loki, of whom it is related that half of her is fair and half black with decay. This signifies her bright and dark aspects as Freyja/Holda mistress of life and death. The Veiled Goddess encompasses the cosmic dualities of day and night, growth and dissolution, radiance and shadow. Her association with the Wild Hunt is strong in Germany where the ride of the death powers is sometimes called the Heljagd and in Normandy, Mesnee a Hellequin. The Indo-European original of this Witch Goddess is *KOLYO, 'the Coverer' the funereal Otherworld Queen of the Indo-European peoples from which figures as diverse as the Celtic Cailleach and Greek nymph Kalypso are descended.
The life/death aspects of Dame Hela were referred to by the German wizard, herbalist and crystal scryer Diel Breull of Calbach who confessed in 1630 that he had travelled to the pagan holy mountain, the Venusberg, 'four times a year, during the fast.' He had no idea how he got to the mountain. He then confessed he was a night traveller and 'the Frau Holle (to whom he travels) is a fine woman from the front but from the back she is like a hollow tree with rough bark. It was in Venus mountain that he came to know a number of herbs.'
This description corresponds with the female forest spirit called the Skogfru in Old Norse and the woodwife, birch maiden and wild damsel elsewhere who are beautiful women from the front but hollow behind like a rotten log. The woodwives are associated with the Wild Hunt, sometimes being pursued by Woden . (‘Woodwife’ and ‘woodwose’ both stem from the Saxon root-word ‘Wod’ - ‘wild, furious, enthused’). Like many native European initiation sites, the Hurselberg was regarded as the gateway to the underworld, the domain of Frau Venus, the classicized Freyja/Holda. From the Hurseloch cave on the mountain eldritch voices and wailing could sometimes be heard, for it led down into the magical realm of the goddess.
The mediaeval tale of Tannhauser is based upon this initiatory lore for he was a knight minnesinger (troubadour) who while riding past the cavern of the Hurselberg at twilight encountered the beautiful and entrancing Frau Venus, who took him below into the Otherworld regions to be her consort for seven years. In Scottish tradition a related pattern is exemplified by Thomas the Rymer, the thirteen century seer who met the Queen of Elfame beneath the Eildon Thorn and went with her into the world of Faery for seven years.
She gave Thomas a golden apple to eat which conferred the prophetic gift upon him. This is reminiscent of Woden's descent into the heart of Suttungr's mountain where he sleeps with the giantess Gunnlodd to attain the mead of poetic inspiration.
Such goddess forms are comparable to the shamanic Clan Mother of the nether-world in Siberian mythology. And we may note that the worship of the Northern Earth Mother Jord/Hlodyn was carried out at hills and mounds, symbols of the womb of the earth. The Furious Horde at Samhain is esoterically linked with the rune Haegl whose primal form ‘*’ represents the snowflake. This makes sense as Holda is traditionally held to shake down the snow onto the countryside; in the Channel Isles snow showers occur when Herodias shakes her petticoats. Her holy bird, the goose, is also connected with the Wild Hunt, and snow crystals are said to drift from its feathers as it flies overhead. The nocturnal cries of migrating geese are interpreted as the yelping of ghostly Gabriel hounds in Celtic lore and are symbolised by the Bird-Ogham Ngeigh at Samhain. The mystical Ninth Mother-Rune symbolises the nine nights the post-mortem soul takes to travel the Hel-Way, the prototypical Spirit-Road which runs northwards into the Underworld of Helheim.
Frau Holda is the heathen original of Mother Goose, who is remembered at winter tide, and the goose is the magical steed upon which Arctic shamans travel in visionary flight to the Otherworld. The witch Agnes Gerhardt confessed in 1596 that she and her fellow initiates used a vision-salve in order to fly to the dance like snow geese', and went on to describe how she prepared this hallucinogenie ointment by frying tansy, hellebore and wild ginger in butter mixed with egg. Such flying salves' (or Unguentum Sabbati) feature prominently in the worteunning of the night travelling witches.
In fact Styrian witches were still using them in the 19th Century. Hartliepp, court physician of Bavaria, gives a formula used by 15th century Northern witches which involves procuring seven herbs on the appropriate days of the pagan week - heliotrope on Sunna's day, fern on moon day, verbena on Tiw's day, spurge on Woden's day, houseleek on Thor's day, maidenhair on Freyja's day and nightshade on Saeter/Hela's day. This magical operation would ensure that the salve would be empowered with the energies of the principal heathen deities.
In 1582 the Archbishop of Salzburg's counsellor, the erudite mathematician and astrologer Dr. Martin Pegger, was arrested under the charge that his wife had flown with the night travellers to the goddess Herodias in the Unterberg. Within the mountain she had seen Herodias with her mountain-ladies and mountain-dwarves and the goddess is said to have come to Frau Pegger's house by Salzberg fish market on a later occasion. The mention of the goddess' mountain-dwarves is significant for they are sometimes known as the Huldravolk; the folk of the Elder, Frau Holda's holy tree.
The association of cats and hares with witches and night travellers may indicate that they inherited many of the magical techniques from the cult of Seidr, the shamanism of 'inner fire' sacred to the goddess Freyja which included trance journeys and communication with the elves and other entities. According to Saxon lore, Freyja sometimes appears amidst a company of hares and she is known to roam the meadows of Aargau with a silver-grey hare by her side in the night hours. The hare is famed as a totem form in which shapeshifting witches travel.
Tumblr media
Freyja, the Teutonic goddess of love, sexuality and mantic sorcery riding a Siberian tiger.
It is know that a strong subterranean current of Freyja worship survived in mediaeval Germany. Closely related initiatory Mysteries existing in the British Isles usually centred on the Faerie goddess, the Queen of Elphame.
An interesting late case is the astrologer and Hermeticist John Heydon in the 17th century, who having imprudently predicted Cromwell's death was forced to flee from London to Somerset. There he claimed to have encountered a green- robed lady at a faery hill. She took him within the mount into a glass castle where he learnt much wisdom and mantic lore. This experience obviously took place in an altered state of shamanic perception.
Frau Holda is the feminine counterpart of the Master of the Wild Hunt, and she is essential to a balanced appreciation of this area of pagan spirituality. The night- travelling witches of the Northern Lands, far from being demonically deluded as ignorant and vindietive churchmen said, were in reality the preservers of a hoary Wisdom Tradition and magical world view which is now accessible to us again at the dawning of a new heathen aeon.”

K, so you know those gags in cartoons where the character can see another character’s dream and it’s something maybe embarrassing or SUPER indulgent and they are like “uihhhhhh I can explain”, like say their jerk boss is THEIR underling or their crush feeding them grapes or something.
What that scene look like from Tony or Steve in a ship context lol Really go for the id. And what’s the other’s reaction?
(It’s like possible! We have mindreaders and dream seers in this universe!)
((This can be vry sweet or angsty lol especially with the timing these 2 have.))
------
It is totally possible! And a lot of potential, really. This was a whole subgenre in SPN fandom but I don’t think I see as much dreamsharing in Steve/Tony, it’s such a great idea in general.
Anyway, some iddy ideas RIGHT off the top of my head -- now about Steve walking into Tony’s dreaming of a full-on harlequin scenario of either him in distress being and rescued by a vary dashing Steve (in classic Cap regalia, a la the posters of Tony’s youth) or HIMSELF rescuing Steve and Steve being grateful going “oh Tony you’re so SMART”. (Steve’s reaction: Oh😳)
Or Tony walks into Steve’s dream where Steve is getting the full Tony Stark(TM) experience where Tony is utterly fascinated by Steve and using all his charm in trying to get Steve’s attention maybe even escalating to full-on seduction techniques, while dream!Steve always knows the right thing to say in return but is being very cool and suave about it. (Tony’s reaction: what🤯 but why??? doesn’t Steve hate that side of him??? )
OR OR OR if you want to to go the real angsty route, I mean, the first thing that popped into my head would be post-Civil War where both of them have nightmares about what happened in the Siberian bunker. It was bad enough on its own, but they could in nightmares relive the emotions again and again, drawing out the terribleness and fear and panic of the moment, plus how it could’ve gone even worse. (Tony dreams of abandonment in the cold, Steve dreams of losing control of the shield at the worst possible moment.) ❄🥶

RELATIONSHIPS
Tumblr media
Brother: Rasalas Jacob Winter
Jacob is 5 years older than her
He was sorted to Gryffindor like father
His first name, Rasaras, means the northern star of the lion head (Constellation of Leo)
Jacob really love his sister, they are inseparable since she was born. When he first saw Danique, as a newborn, he swore to Merlin that he would protect her with all cost. When he went to Hogwarts, he sent a letter for Danique weekly. The letters are about his life in Hogwarts, he even tells her about the cursed vaults. Then there is R situation, he rarely sent her a letter. When she asked about the vault and why he didn't send a letter weekly, he said that he gave up and busy with his school works.
During Summer break, he would show Danique all the spells he studied and broom flying manoeuvres(Without mom and dad knowing). Even she doesn't have wand, she would try to mimic his move. One day when her magical ability is awake, she somehow could cast the spells without a wand. This is the reason why Danique knows and masters a lot of spells and has excellent flying skills.
One summer after Jacob was treated by R, he was a lot quiet and stayed in his room most of the time. Danique was feeling sad about this, but her dad told her that it is normal for teenagers to spend their time in the bedroom. So she tried to understand and playing with herself instead.
Knowing Jacob was expelled is quite a shock for her since Jacob was always serious about studying and had good grades. She was angry at him for ruining family's peace. He and father had never talk to each other again since that. Even she was angry, she sneaked into his room to talk to him sometimes. Surprisingly, Jacob talked to her. He also told her that he may disappear one day to seek for something and if he found it, it might make the situation better. Having thought about Jacob leaving, she cried and tried to beg him not to go. Jacob lied that he changed his mind and promised to stay. One morning when Danique went to his room to show her new achievement of wandless spell, he was not there.
Tumblr media
Father: Dilan Sigourney Winter
Pure blood
Former Auror
Sorted to Gryffindor
Charming, persistent, easy going, family man
Curently work for Department of international Magical Cooperation
He loves his children so much. He always spend his freetime with them by playing with them, show them some spectacular spells, and take them to picnic at countryside near London.
Since there was an incident at the end of the first wizarding war, his wife died, he became more strict and protective. He worried about his children, especially Danique since she was young and unlike Jacob that he has a protection from Hogwarts. He quited his job and moved to countryside, far away from London. He even took Danique to work at the department.
When Jacob was expelled, he was really angry on Jacob behaviors and blamed himself for not taking a good care for him.
Tumblr media
Mother: Helen Winter
Muggle-born
Sorted to Hufflepuff
Kind, generous, cheerful, dedicated
She was a famous singer in wizarding world, but she has some connections so she could hide her personal life from the society. No one know that she married and have kids, she just disappeared from the spotlight.
On October 20, there are a group of death eaters invaded in her house while her husband were out for work. Lucky for Jacob, he went to Diagon alley to search for a clue for cursed vault. She tried to protected her daughter, Danique, and was killed by one of the invaders. Before they could lay their hands on the poor girl, her father arrived from work and killed them all.
After 1 year of the incident, Dilan can't forgive himself and he missed her a lot. He decided to hire a painter to make a magical portrait of Helen.
So Danique's mom is a magical portrait!

I’m Aesthetic Trash.
So I’d like to say that it’s more that the Pantorans vibe with my personal aesthetic than the Ikanii are based visually on the Pantorans, because I originally make the Ikanii when I’d watched the Prequels but not TCW.
SO HERE WE GO
A Note -- Yelena’s hair in the top left is too light, it’s supposed to be the color in the sketch on the bottom. Still not sold on her name. I’m basing her more on Caucasus people, but I’m not far enough into my research to be comfortable giving her a name from those cultures.
Another Note: Master Que’s skin tone is actually closer to Yelena’s dress but they’re in the same image so like. :|||||||| Oh well, maybe they’re feeling more pink that day. Also, their tunic color gave me SO MANY ISSUES. UGH. Eventually I settled on this blue.
Info under the read
Yelena!!
I have decided to base the Pantorans on Russia from Europe to Asia, because Riyo Chuchi’s name sounds similar to some Siberian names + some other East Asian names.
Yelena is specifically from a family entwined with the Pantoran religion that produces about one seer a generation. Yelena is the second seer of her generation, so she was given to the Jedi. I’m currently debating making her master Cyslin Myr, Mace Windu’s former master, so that she and Mace are sibling-Padawans. However she’s the same age as Jango Fett, which *does* play into the story I’m building around her bc I’m a predictable af. Her tattoos were done in infancy and are (artist statement) made to be somewhere between sun bursts and tear tracks.
The multiple braids here are actually for when she’s a Knight. As a Padawan, she only had her padawan braid, at the back of her neck and well hidden under her masses of hair. This is because she and her master were undercover at the time researching pirate cultures. She’s an anthropologist/historian Jedi.
Master Que!!!
I’ve talked about Master Que a bit more in their tag. They’re from a shapeshifting species called the Ikanii that has a taboo on purposefully mimicking any living sentient. They can but they prefer not to. Skin colors at birth are either incredibly pale colors or incredibly dark colors, enough they look stark white or stark black, but they’ll quickly mimic the colors around them (chameleon babies ARE a problem for them). Most Ikanii prefer skin colors in the purple-pink-red range, but consider it a fashion choice. Honestly most of their appearance choices are fashion choices.
Also they’re genetically unstable! This is possibly because they’re silicon based lifeforms! They refuse to tell anyone if that’s the case, though, and they can reproduce with non-unstable sentients, so scientists think not. And yet the question still remains because the instability baffles geneticists and a creation myth says their were carved from crystal (that’s also theorized to be Kyber) and their hair has a far more crystalline structure. But it’s theorized by said geneticists that the instability is what allows their particular shapeshifting ability. Unlike the Pantorans, the metallic marks on their face aren’t tattoos! They’re either gold or silver leaf (*cough*aesthetictrash*cough*).
Que is pretty much the only Ikanii to be given to the Jedi in their history, because most the Ikanii are a highly Force sensitive species. Why they were given to the Jedi is something I know but will not be sharing any time soon.
They’re older than Jango! They do not look it! They also don’t look like they can physically benchpress him in full armor, but here they are. Yes, again, I’m predictable af.

THE MAGIC OF SHAMANS, WITCHES, DRUIDS, SEERS, VIKINGS, SIBERIANS, MAGES....
(The story about witches and flying broom sticks is merely a depiction of the flying ointment - Amanita Muscaria - which enables one to Astral Project).
Fly Agaric (Amanita Muscaria) is a well-known mushroom with a long ritual history. Use of this mushroom has historically been widespread. It grows abundantly from Scandinavia to the far eastern Siberia, and has been used in India, Persia and Egypt. Shamans of the Koryak take the mushroom to communicate with the ancestors and spirits of the dead, to journey in spirit and to see past. Its association with shamanic travel and the Underworld is Universal.
It has been proposed as the “elixir” of the ancient alchemists, the original “holy grail” and the biblical Tree of Knowledge. Most famous is perhaps Gordon R. Wasson’s theory that it is the original Soma, the mysterious drink of the Gods celebrated in the 2,000 year old sacred scripts of the Rig-Veda - and so it is, I can confirm it from my numerous experiences with this magical mushroom.
Symbolism of the fly Amanita is featured throughout history and religion. Many cultures in Europe have stories and folklore pertaining to mushrooms, specifically the Amanita, which some might argue is one of the most recognizable fungi in the world. It has been theorized that their reach bleeds as far as into Christianity, with the ”Forbidden Fruit” named in the Genesis being not an apple, but instead a mushroom. There are stories of the Lithuanian god of the dead whose fingers are mushrooms reaching out from the world of the dead to feed the poor. Viking berserkers are had ingested Amanita Muscaria before battle, which enabled them to enter a frenzied trance state. All across the Nordic countries Amanitas have been traditionally associated with Yule and the god Loki. They’ve possibly lent their colors, as well as Loki’s attribution as a trickster character, to our modern version of Santa Claus, who has the ability to be both good (leaving presents) and cruel (leaving coal), all while draped in red & white, the iconic colors of the mushroom.
Amanita Muscaria even traveled down into China, where traditional Taoists refer to it as the ”Fruit of Immortality”, and has been said to have been used as far as India, where it is known as Soma, Israel, possibly Egypt and the Mediterranean, and even in Mexico where sculptures of Amanitas and other mushrooms have been found.
In western Siberia, the use of A. Muscaria was restricted to shamans, who used it as a method of achieving a trance state. This could be accompanied by drumming and/or ritual dance. In India, a drink was made from the mushrooms that was said to bring one closer to god. Fly Amanita has been used, along with other psychoactive mushrooms, in Nordic countries during rituals and sacrifices, sometimes even being presented as an offering to the gods. Mostly, however, the mushroom is generally processed and consumed, and the participants then sent on a whirling journey in which they invoke magic, god(s), sex or some other state. The uses for Amanita Muscaria are as varied and detailed as the many stories. Every experience is unique and magical.
For me personally I love to take small amounts 2-3 caps - and love the feelings/ecstasy from it(way better than alcohol + without any hangover or side effects, great mental clarity, super strength - I love to work out on them - they give inhumane strength(this confirms the Viking frenzied berserk mode by consuming them) and I also love to sit still on them and meditate - it can take me in so deep. But if I want to go deeper, like astral projection, then 5,6+ caps guaranteed.
#Shamanic-journeying, #divination, #ecstasy, #inebriation, #group-frenzy, #necromancy-(communicating with spirits), #ancestors, #immortality, #warrior-power, #journey-through-death, #death&rebirth, #theLittlePeople(Nisser, Gnomes, Dwarves, Svartálfar), #astral-projection, #flying-ointment, #third-eye-opener, #feasting, #entering-the-Underworld.

A more official intro
Hi. I thought posting some finished projects might help introduce this blog, but words do that even better sometimes, no? So let’s do that, too.
I’m Seer. Not the seer, or a seer. Just Seer. It’s what people call me outside of work and family. I’m an adult woman who is quietly losing her mind while working full time in the public education industry. (No more details about that will follow; I don’t do work talk on social media, or social media in general.) I like playing video games, listening to and playing music, freshwater fish keeping, nail polish, yarn crafts, playing with Siberian huskies, and sleeping. Most of those can’t be done at the same time, sadly, but I wish I could try. Just imagine how much hooking you could do in your sleep!
... Hooking is a “slang” term for crocheting, by the way. Not the other thing you may have been thinking of if you’re not familiar with it. And yes, I may often refer to myself as a hooker. I’d be flattered if you really thought I was a sex worker. Those poor people have it hard, especially in these times.
Anyway. I took a break from crocheting a while back after moving to a new state/life. Some things had to take a backseat for a while as I readjusted. I’m back though, and I’m as proud of my ability to pick it back up as one can be without being a total narcissist. I’ve been putting some of my progress on Ravelry (incredible yarn project website if you’ve not been there before: www.ravelry.com) but wanted to really showcase some things better in a blog and have more room for wordiness. I intend to update here as I go though I won’t commit to any kind of a regular schedule. But isn’t life a little better without scheduling everything all the time anyway?
I think we’ve got the gist now, so I’ll stop here. Thanks for getting this far! Let’s do this again sometime, eh?

MountainClan
Could you review this?
Hello there! I am sorry I couldn’t answer sooner, university afternoon and morning classes have been keeping me rather busy.
MountainClan
Overview: Appearance- MountainClan cats are large and muscular, with thick fur, often in shades of brown, black and gray. White spotting is low to nothing, and solid white cats are incredibly rare. The main breed is the Siberian Forest Cat, and they have thickset, cobby bodies. They have extremely powerful legs that they use for leaping from rock-to-rock, and their claws are dull from scraping against stone.
Their body shape seems fine to me. I personally would make them all long furred, it can keep their body temperature when facing extreme cold temperature. Looking at the environment they live in, it only makes sense not having with cats so it works too. Now here, I do have a little thing against using a certain cat breed for clan cats. You see, for a cat to be a purebred it means that, for generations, certain genes have been kept within their geneva which can easily be translated into massive incest which, even though kind of realistic given the fact that these cats live in groups in the middle of a mountain with probably 0 contact with other cats, can be a dangerous as kits can be born with great deformities or dead. I don’t know much about this breed but I certainly prefer not using them when it comes to clan cats. You must also take into consideration that, in most cases, purebred cats are product of human interaction. If you still want to use this specific breed for your clan cats, I recommend doing a research on how it was first created and what illnesses/deformities/problems in general these cats have.
Skills- MountainClan cats are excellent hunters, since prey is so hard to come by. They also have amazing balance, and can leap from a rock to a narrow ledge with no trouble. They aren’t the best fighters, but they are very clever and can often win battles just by outsmarting their opponents.
Makes sense. Living in such an inhospitable place, one would think that only the smartest and the strongest would survive.
Territory: The territory is mostly rock and stone, but at the base of the mountain is a pine forest, with a few spruce trees mixed in. The cats mostly hunt hares on the mountain slopes, and avoid the forest because it’s crawling with wolverines and foxes. Mountain goats and sheep roam the rocks, but aren’t eaten. If a cat is lucky, they can hunt down an eagle or a hawk.
Even with the menace of foxes and wolverines, I still think the cats would risk their health for prey. After all, when winter comes, prey would probably move to places where food is available (aka: the forest) and cats would risk dying of starvation. What brings me to my next question, how many generations have these cats been living here? If these cats have been living here for long, why haven’t they kicked bigger predators out of their hunting territories? Foxes and wolverines are stronger than one single cat but I am pretty sure that most of them would retaliate if they had to face a clan made out of 20-30 cats. In the end, the forest does sound like a territory you would prefer hunting in so it does make sense for these cats to fight for it. Lastly, I advise searching for information about the kind of eagles or hawks your territory has, they may not be well suited prey for cats. I would also do an in depth research on what kind of prey they can catch, if the only prey they can catch is hares and hawks they may be pretty screwed.
Camp- The camp is in a small stone cave with holes in the stone walls. The seer sleeps nearest to the camp entrance in a large den. Across from it is the warrior’s den. The nursery and the elder’s den are next to each other in the back of the cave, and the apprentices sleep in a hollow on the floor under a large rock. The leader sleeps on a ledge overlooking the clan.
This sounds good to me. I keep thinking about whether making elders and kits in the back is a good idea or not. I do think that keeping them in the deeper part of the cave can protect them from the cold outside and potential attacks of any kind but, at same time, I think that this part of the cave is probably the most humid one and, since it is located at the back, the one that gets less warmed up by the sun too. Maybe they can change their den location with every new season? Or depending on their health and personal needs? Remenber that you don’t have to separate the cats just because they have different ranks, if an elder’s bones get fragile and it is summer, I am pretty sure that they would move to a more sun warmed den.
Notable Landmarks- Stone Streams- Thin streams that rush down the mountainside. Cats often hunt here, as the hares need to drink as well.
White Sands- A small beach at the lakeside, barely on MountainClan territory. The cats often go there to sun themselves, but it’s a long walk, so they only go there during celebrations.
These sound good to me. That stream sounds like the perfect place for prey like birds and other small mammals (and even fish) to live, don’t let them solely rely on hares. White sands sound like a nice place to be but, if they are such a long walk away, cats only go there to sunbathe and this clan highly praises hard work and hates laziness, why do they go here on the first place? Does this have a high sacred element to it? Is it related to an important historic event? Maybe it has to do with folklore?
Common Behavior: Values- MountainClan cats value hard work more than anything. The cats of MountainClan must work hard if they want to survive, and laziness is seen as the greatest weakness.
MountainClan cats also value companionship. Being alone is considered dangerous, and cats form strong bonds of friendship and love.
 Sounds legit.
Habits- MountainClan cats speak slowly and clearly, and their voices are often described as smooth and watery. They’re voices are soothing, and it’s hard to feel uncomfortable around a MountainClan cat.
They usually name their kits after color, or after things found in their territory, such as Hawk-, Dust-, and Rock-
Choosing colors to name the young! Interesting, I have seen few people choose color above other things. Why colors and not living beings? This is interesting and could be used as a great worldbuilding base to create mythology/folklore/culture. I recommend looking at what kind of plants and animals live around the area as colors or inanimate objects may end up being too little or repetitive.
Characteristics- MountainClan cats love to tell stories, and will prance around the cave, telling dramatic renditions of epic hunts or battles. The kits adore it, and when an apprentice becomes a warrior, they will tell the whole clan a story of their proudest moment.
Good one, I like it. In a territory like this I am pretty sure that cats have lots of legends, myths and stories to talk about.
It has a couple of things that could be improved but, as a whole, I do really like the idea. I hope I was of any help and, once again, sorry for my delay! I’ll try to answer sooner next time.

so, @thicckevin and i have been talking about an all for the game au where the characters have daemons, and let me tell you, it’s lit (i even included pictures, lmao)
daemons are the physical manifestation of a human soul, and during a person’s childhood they can take any shape they please. however, once a person reaches the age of maturity, the daemon will settle into a form that best represents the soul
wymack’s daemon is a kodiak bear that follows him around like a ginormous shadow
spiritually seen to represent strength and leadership, also known as a strong, grounding force circled around healing and rest
abby’s is a guinea pig, very fitting
represents empathy, sensitivity, trust, protection and commonly referred to as “sacred healer”
bee’s is a badger and see we could’ve given her an actual bee but…
the badger is the keeper of stories and represents reliance, independence, strong will and confidence
dan has a lynx because she’s the captain, it’s her job to know or to want to know everything
the lynx is the seer of secrets, a born leader and very patient
matt has a bloodhound, because he’s kind, loving and forgiving, the first time he meets neil he knows this boy is going to be a handful but he doesn’t care
the bloodhound represents affection, gentleness, nobility, playfulness and unconditional acceptance (in other words, it fits him perfectly)
his daemon also has a stupid reference to neil’s, but we’ll get to that
allison has a leopard because she walked away from her parents and found herself
the leopard shows claiming your true self, boldness, beauty, strength and perseverance
renee has a tiny goldfinch bird that likes to sit on her shoulder
the goldfinch illustrates understanding the importance of change, balance and harmony when dealing with people, happiness, diversity and joy
nicky has a hare, much like a rabbit but with larger ears and legs, typically they live in pairs (erik also has a hare, would you believe)
they represent family, love, loyalty creativity and rebirth, as well as vulnerability and sentiment
aaron has a ferret that likes to curl up around his neck and brood with him
ferrets show healing, agility, stealth and being a pain in the ass
surprisingly, he and andrew daemon’s don’t share the same form, most likely because they’re very different people
kevin’s is interesting because throughout his childhood his daemon remained a raven, something riko was extremely jealous of, but when he joined the foxes it finally settled into a hawk
representing overcoming problems, clear-sightedness, leadership and strength, things kevin had been severely lacking back at evermore
andrew’s daemon settled as a maine coon, but when he was a kid in the foster system and living with cass and through being subjected to drake’s abuse, it took the shape of small animals like mice, ladybirds and moths to seem invisible
cats symbolise being secretive, intelligent, watchful, wary and loyal
maine coons also look 99.9% done with everything all of the time
neil’s daemon never settled (which is rare and you know, bad) until he legally became neil. his daemon couldn’t settle due to all of the personalities and names he wore, it couldn’t find a specific trait to stick itself to
when he was alex, it took the shape of a shrew to seem unimportant and so that it could be easily concealed. when he was stefan, it was an australian shepherd dog so that it could keep up with running him and his mother. when he was chris, it was a weasel, signalling his secret agenda and urge to stay hidden, especially when his mother died
riko’s torture at evermore included separating neil and his daemon for long periods of time, something that should never happen. if you injure the human, the daemon feels it, injure the daemon - you get it
however, when he finally became neil abram josten after baltimore, it changed to a fox (you knew it was coming folks) and andrew and neil’s daemons like to cuddle, giving away their not-relationship. there’s also a fox and the hound reference here for neil and matt, lmao
jean has a siberian husky, very fluffy but not very friendly at all
siberian huskies symbolise inner strength, survival, leadership through hardship and embracing challenge
jeremy has a big, dumb dalmation, over-excited little thing and loves to play
dalmations represent balance and kindness, an ability to love unconditionally and be loyal, and they’re highly intelligent
and now moving onto the less important assholes
riko has a rat
for obvious reasons
rats represent wealth, stealth, defence, intelligence
ichirou has a king cobra
snakes represent cunning, wisdom, immortality, connections between primal sources
nathan has a sea otter
ask ella, honestly. they kill kids when they’re sexually frustrated okay, it’s perfect for him. they literally have no spiritual meaning for this. we just hate him
lola and romero have golden monkeys, vicious little fuckers. they also have little to no meaning, they’re just awful and match their human counterparts so well

Paleo Indians - First Americans, a short essay.
The Paleo Indians were the first peoples to arrive in the Americas making them the First Americans. Some came from Asia, others took a Trans Atlantic route. Those from Asia kept their cultures which included shamans, totem poles, and language. Is it any wonder that only the Northwest Natives have totem poles? Native Siberian tribes do also.
Arctic peoples who arrived in Greenland and the Arctic area’s of North America are prime fishermen. They not only gather fish but whales, seals and polar bears. They traded furs with other tribes. All tribes had their own celebrations, but they all had ceremonies to mark the solstices as the Sun was very sacred to them, as well as days for first berry harvests and corn harvests. All tribes seemed to have some sort of their own version of the Great Flood story.
All up and down the East coast are ancient stone circles and monoliths which point to the migration of peoples from the Middle East / Western Europe who are known to build these structures - they are also found in Britain, France, Spain and Germany and locations of Northern Africa and Middle East. These peoples had a different culture than those from Siberia and East Asia. Oddly, when asked about these stone structures, Native Americans just say they had been here for a very long time and their reason is some sort of secret, and they were built by great men, their ancestors. I honestly feel this is true and these people came from a route via the Atlantic. It’s hard to rule it out, especially when ancient cultures in the Middle East had good ships and sailed by the stars, they could easily navigate the oceans.
The Paleo tribes were not uneducated by any means. While they had not begun to grow crops right away, they were expert at hunting and gathering. North America is rich is food to gather: Blueberries, raspberries, wild rice, wild garlic, wild onions, walnuts, beech nuts, acorns, watercress, dandelion, pine nuts, persimmons, amaranth, pawpaw, and maple syrup. They would fish and hunt animals for food, bones, and furs. Animals such as bear, wolves, jaguar, and eagles were considered supernatural. Sacrifices, both animal and human, would be common. Shamans and seers knew wild plants well and used them to heal illness and wounds, prevent pregnancy, purge fevers, and to aid pain. At this time, terrible diseases such as smallpox may not of been present as yet because they were not keeping animals such as pigs, cows and birds that carried the virus, as well as these animals had not come into the Americas so smallpox and measles remained in the Old World. The Paleo Indians did suffer from cancers, parasites, and the general cold/fevers. They also knew which plants and mushrooms would bring visions from the gods/goddesses. They worshiped many deities, a god to aid them in war and hunting, a goddess of fertility to bless the womb and food, and a god or goddess of death and underworld. Dreams were special to the tribe and often shared with everyone.
Some lived in tents, others built huts and small cabins of wood or stone. They made baskets, created dyes and paints from plants, crafted jewelry and talismans made of wood, stones, bones and shells, and were adept at storytelling. Shoes would of been crafted from leathers and deer skins, feathers were gathered to created headdresses, and tools were made from stone and eventually, copper and gold. Life was easily taken in these times, animals roamed wildly and did not fear men as they do now. The America’s were home to packs of wolves, mammoths, bison, bears, and large cats which could be dangerous to a single or weak human. Animal and human hunted each other. Because of this, hunters went out in groups not alone, and those unable to hunt such as mothers, children and elderly remained within camp boundaries. Kidnapping was common, as it was an act of strength and power over another tribe. Violence would be common, as it would be between tribes for years to come.
The Paleo era became an interest after reading The Moon People series by Claudia King, found on Amazon.

Guest Post: T.M Lakomy #darkfantasy
INTERVIEW WITH T. M. LAKOMY
What was the most difficult part of writing your most recent book?
Leaving it at the current ending, I wanted to continue with the character’s journey but I knew that was the perfect place to end. In a way, I wanted the reader to know what lay beyond the final chapter as it is a bewildering end. But then, I would have got carried away and ended up combining two novels in one. But the temptation was strong, I itched to show the results of the end chapter.
What was the first book you ever had published? How much time did it take from writing your first book to having it published?
This is my debut novel and I wrote it three years ago, I shelved it for a long time before considering taking it further. I believe it took me between 6/8 months to write it.
When you create characters, do you base them on real people?
Yes, I base them on people around me, not necessarily people I know very well. I look for a certain character streak, mannerism or affectation and I take it and build on it. Sometimes it’s just the look in the eyes or the tone of the voice or the gait, and I add layers of complexity to it and a backstory that fits. I amplify virtues and vices and I am always on the lookout for interesting people. I study people, it’s a form of anthropology for me.
How would you describe yourself if you were “speed dating” your readers?
I am a very eccentric woman who has a deeply philosophical streak and a penchant for the occult and mysticism.
What’s something fans would find fascinating about you?
That through my archaeological studies I became fascinated with the occult practices of indigenous people and from studying the Siberian shamans, I ended up getting to know the spiritual and mystical aspect of some east African tribes through my work.
How do your family and/or friends feel about your book or writing venture in general?
They are very supportive, they are happy I took the step to publish my writing. I have toyed with the idea of becoming a writer for years and never fully committed till now. I am glad they encouraged me.
Do you have any pets?
Yes two cats, mother and son, delightful little furballs
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you travel?
China, I would love to discover the culture there and immerse myself.
Do you have siblings? What was it like growing up with them?
I have half sisters… let’s say it wasn’t easy
Do you have a favorite beverage that you drink when you write?
White wine or a home made passion fruit martini.
Please tell us 5 miscellaneous facts about yourself.
My favourite colour is black, then grey, then green, then yellow, I have remained a goth at heart.
I am actually quite shy while simultaneously having a rapier wit
My favourite season is winter, I don’t like the heat that much but I do like to sunbathe
I love horror films, anything to spook myself out
I hate tall buildings

BRIEF AUTHOR BIO:
I am T. M Lakomy (Tamara Lakomy).  I was born in London, but grew up as a tribal girl in a North African repressive regime. I spent my childhood between the slums of Mellasine and the affluent neighbourhoods in Tunis.
I studied archaeology and became enamoured with the shamanistic practices of indigenous people.
I am an author and poet who seeks to challenge our notions of reality, and see life with a different perspective.
I work in East Africa with indigenous tribes studying the origins of mankind and the salient golden thread in the tapestry of humanity’s beliefs.
BOOK DESCRIPTION:
In a world where angels, demons, and gods fight over the possession of mortal souls, two conflicted pawns are ensnared in a cruel game. The enigmatic seer Estella finds herself thrown together with Count Mikhail, a dogmatic Templar dedicated to subjugating her kind. But when a corrupted cardinal and puppet king begin a systematic genocide of her people, the two become unlikely allies.
Taking humanity back to their primordial beliefs and fears, Estella confronts Mikhail’s faith by revealing the true horror of the lucrative trade in human souls. All organized religions are shops orchestrated to consume mankind. Every deity, religion, and spiritual guide has been corrupted, and each claims to have the monopoly on truth and salvation.
In a perilous game where the truth is distorted and meddling ancient deities converge to partake of the unseen battle, Estella unwittingly finds herself hunted by Lucifer. Traversing the edge of hell’s precipice, Estella and Mikhail are reduced to mere instruments. Their only means to overcome is through courting the Threefold Death, the ancient ritual of apotheosis—of man becoming God.
  BOOK EXCERPT:
“I want to liberate you from your thralldom,” he said. “I have watched over you all, my tender flock. I am Lucifer, the morning star, the first to greet you with my love into this life, and the last to claim you on my dark stallion of death. I have come to free you.” His persuasive voice was soothing and nurturing, like a gentle river rippling mildly over soft bedrock.
The cardinal found himself in a daze of awe, and within him woke his longing for power and lust for dominion. “Come to me, let me free you, and we shall destroy the Twilit world that has robbed you of the gifts that you so deserved.”
The fatherly voice of the angel was indignant yet gentle, and he beamed at the cardinal who nodded back eagerly. “Let me into your heart, then. Lead me into your house, in this false edifice erected in the name of God, and let us together find the lost sheep in the house of God. I am his true son, after all, prince of the world.” He glided towards the cardinal, his numerous nacre wings extending into the chamber. They shed their own pearly light, and it seemed he floated like a silver vision. The angel knelt beside the cardinal, gazing into his watery eyes.
“Let me into his house.” The voice was slightly more pressing now.
The cardinal, dazed, nodded in agreement. With a satisfied smile, the angel touched the cardinal’s chest with a slender finger, right at his heart, and breathed over him. The cardinal groaned, falling instantly asleep.
The angel then shifted like a blurring image, colors melting and running, twisting like molten glass into a murky mess of shadow and dirt-colored fumes. The gleaming wings fell to the ground, losing their feathers and rotting instantly. Now instead of the radiant angel, there stood a hooded and cloaked figure, emanating death. Like a black hole, it sucked in all the light around him, exerting a fearsome pull. The light from the candles swirled and were drawn into him, as though he were a gasping sinkhole.
