Sasunaru pacific rim au
Can’t believe I never thought of it. The potential is literally endless. You could have Sasuke and Naruto be two brats in the Jaeger military division. Maybe Sasuke comes from a long line of family members who are part of the military so he always has something to prove. Maybe Naruto is just an orphan brat who keeps failing the Jaeger program because he’s “too brash. Too unpredictable. Unable to follow orders”. So he just works as a soldier at the Jaeger base.
Maybe Sasuke and Naruto have been friends since they were young because Naruto is a breath of fresh air compared to the rigid, unforgiving military standard he’s lived his whole life. Maybe he has a crush on this boy who’s one of the few people who can make him smile in this world where he and his brother have to suit up in a robot and fight giant monsters that keep getting stronger. Maybe seeing Naruto is one of the reasons he keeps fighting no matter what.
THEN maybe Itachi gets badly injured and he’s not gonna be able to be a pilot for a long time if ever but this is a crucial time for humans and they NEED pilots so sasuke has to find a replacement but no one is compatible!!! Until Naruto offers and they let him try as a last ditch attempt and holy shit, it works! They fit together perfectly. They are in sync. Better than when Itachi was copilot and everyone is so relieved cause they have their Jaeger back.
But Sasuke is freaking out cause he’s imagining Naruto getting killed the same way Itachi was injured. The Kaijus are getting stronger and more dangerous and they’ve already lost so many pilots so has he just signed Naruto’s death warrant by accepting him as a copilot?

Too few people have discussed how, according to Gorrequor’s diary, Hudson Lowe’s wife, Susan, has opinions on Napoleon that seem to be based only, and I mean only, on how angry she is with her husband.
Getting along with dear lil Hudson? She 100% wants Lowe to keep the bust of Napoleon II out of their prisoner’s hands, because she wants to deny him anything that could give him comfort!
Angry at him? Lowe is a pitiless monster, and also, she can and will try to drag anyone in earshot (including Gorrequor) into the debate as to whether Napoleon deserves pity or contempt. At this point she is strongly in camp “pity” and why are you all being so mean to him?
Other about-faces too, based on nothing but apparently vibes and voodoo
Her opinion seems to be based on nothing except how to best irritate her husband and she succeeds

During the show the tightrope breaks and Thena falls. Luckily Gil catches her but gets injured. The whole crew protects both of them when kro is very angry that Gil touches Thena. Some drama for the circus one
"Thena!"
It felt as if it happened in slow motion. Thena was in the middle of the routine as usual, and things were going well. She and Angus were both strong and ready for the show.
But something wasn't right. Gil had watched as Thena froze on the tightrope, her whole body locking up on the spot. He had looked to where her eyes were anchored, running out from behind the scenes. Something was wrong with the joint where the line was attached.
Then it snapped.
"Thena!" He ran as fast as he could. There were no nets, as per a certain ringleader's demand (because it didn't instill the right excitement in the crowds). There was no protecting Thena from a bone shattering fall.
He plowed into her, just barely managing to catch her as they both rolled and skidded from his momentum. He somehow managed to keep a hold of her within his arms. His shoulder was most certainly jostled from where it was supposed to be, and he wouldn't be surprised if he had a number of bruises along his ribs and arms.
The crowd was up on its feet, women and children screaming. Kro was already trying to assure them and tell them there was no need to panic (no need to ask for their money back).
"Gil?"
He opened his eyes, scared to look at what happened. But he grunted as Thena leaned over him, her hair pooling on his chest as he lay on his back. Her hand trailed over his cheek. "Are you okay?"
"Oh Gil," she whispered, her hand sliding down his cheek and neck and over his chest.
Gil looked around them. It was chaos, and this was definitely a worst case scenario. At least Thena wasn't hurt, but the repercussions would ripple through the whole crew. They had to check the equipment, they would have a meeting with everyone from every department. And Kro would be furious.
"Hey!"
Gil saw from somewhat upside down as Kro caught sight of them. He didn't know why the guy was anywhere but by his wife's side, but he was too tired to think about that now. He watched as Kro began the process of storming over to them.
"Get your filthy hands off of her!"
Oh, he was talking to him. Gil blinked, feeling as if he were hearing everything underwater, and his head hurt something fierce. But Thena was unharmed, that was all that mattered to him.
"Gil," Thena whispered to him. There was a flurry of motion around them, the crew rushing to talk to Kro about what to do about the broken highwire. They would serve as a barricade for them. "Can you see me?"
He could only ever see her. He nodded, groaning as he tried to sit up.
"It's okay, easy," she cooed to him as she helped pull him up. "We're going to get you some help."
Gil tried to hold himself up, but damn it felt hard. He didn't think he was really this heavy, but he couldn't keep his feet straight. He was like a newborn colt trying to walk for the first time.
"Come on, big fella," some of his friends from the crew got on either side of him. Of course Thena couldn't be the one to help try to walk him to the medical tent. But she smelled nicer than these guys.
"Gil," she called to him again, dragging his eyes up to hers. "Just look at me. You can't fall asleep."
Why not? He was dead tired and he felt like he'd been wrestling with the elephants.
"Just keep looking at me," she whispered, leading him with the sweet lyricism of her voice. Like a damn angel, that woman.
Gil sighed as they finally got him to the medical tent and seated on a bale of hay. He really was ready to lie down, but he let Thena drag his head upright again. Although he did whine a little as she shined some kinda light in his eyes.
"You can't sleep like this," she sighed, and then put something cold on the top of his head. His eyes naturally rolled upward, not that he could see whatever it was. She smiled, "it's just from the icebox. We have to keep the swelling down."
Oh, it was his head. That made sense why his ears were ringing, at least. "Are you okay?"
Thena looked at him in a way that made his heart melt. She sat beside him, even letting her knees in her sparkly stockings brush against his in his regular, ratty old trousers. "Thanks to you."
Gil looked at her, now that the chaos from the main tent was behind them. She did look fine, which was a relief. "Couldn't just let you fall."
It was almost not within his control, that was to say. But Thena took his hand in hers. "I know you couldn't. But I owe my life to you, all the same."
His mind was a few steps behind his mouth as he blurted out, "where's your husband?"
Normally he wouldn't bring him up, even just so as to not upset the lady.
But Thena didn't even blink, rubbing her thumb against his, "don't worry about him, for now."
"I wish you didn't have to worry about him," Gil mumbled out. He really was saying whatever was on his mind, huh?
Thena sighed, though, looking at him with those stunning green eyes. "I know. I wish so, too."
Gil closed his eyes as she adjusted the cloth bundle of ice on top of his head. It did feel nice, but it also gave him the chills. "He's gonna blow his top if we can't get the highwire restrung."
"That man would blow his top at the sky if it were the only thing around."
Gil chuckled, although it made his head hurt something awful. He groaned.
"Sorry." Thena brushed the backs of her knuckles over his temple, soothing the ache from the outside in.
Gil looked at the cloth walls of the tent. It was just some canvas, and it was far from impenetrable. But he looked at Thena, feeling like he really did have this moment to keep just to themselves. "Thena...if he ever hurts you, I swear-"
His eyes slid closed as she leaned forward to kiss him. Her lips were as soft as the light of first dawn. If he never believed in heaven before, maybe he did now.
Thena leaned back, her thumbs on his cheeks, "don't worry about me, Gil."
But he did. Every second of every day, he thought of her.
He was painfully in love with someone else's wife. "But-"
She kissed him again, more softly, and more chastely too, leaning back even quicker. "No buts, just try to rest. I can handle Kro."
Gil tried to protest again but Thena stood, leaving him alone on his little hay bale island. He blinked as she exited the tent, the warm glow inside contrasting the cold, blue light outside.
"Is he in there?"
"He's resting. Leave him be, Kro."
"Like hell I will. Bastard thinks he can put his hands on my wife?!"
Gil tried to get to his feet, stumbling to his knees at first. He tried again as the crack of a palm against a cheek sliced through the air. "Th-Thena?"
"He saved my life! More than you've ever done, and if I see you bothering him, I'll give the crowd something that will really scare them away and right out of your greedy hands."
He had never heard Thena raise her voice. He had seen her stand her ground with Kro, and he had no doubt she was as tough as a lady got, even with that brute of a husband. Maybe because of that brute of a husband.
"Ungrateful little whore."
"Call me whatever you want. Gilgamesh is not to leave his own sleeper car until he's healed."
She only ever called him Gil when they were alone.
"Fine, but the show goes on, even if the vet starts bleeding from the eyes."
Gil tried to stand again. He had to say that he would be fine. He couldn't let Thena be left alone with that devil. He groaned, managing to stand and take a few steps.
He only made it out of the tent in time to see Kro all but dragging Thena away, probably to berate her for talking back to him in front of the crew like that. But she turned and waved to him, assuring him of her well being.
Gil stood there, watching the woman he loved get dragged away by her husband. He couldn't make out any of the words his fellow crewmen and friends were chattering at him. All he was thinking about was how Thena had kissed him, and in such a way that could only mean that she loved him too.

sometimes I randomly think about the time a girl posted in this girls only Facebook group I’m in telling everyone how she broke up with her boyfriend and he lied saying that he lost the spare key she gave him, only to then break into her apartment when she wasn’t home and steal the cat they’d adopted while they were together, but then he denied having done this and she didn’t really have proof that he took the cat since he wouldn’t let her come into his place and look for it. And then another girl saw this post and knew her ex-boyfriend, and she was like “girl. I used to hook up with your mans back in xxxx and I still have his number. If you want, I’ll hit him up and get him to invite me back to his place and see if your cat’s there.” And the OP was like “bet.”
So this woman hit up homie dog, asked him out for drinks, went home with him, slept with him, and then woke up in the middle of the night and TOOK THE CAT. Like she had only said that she would confirm if the cat was there but then she took it upon herself to steal this woman’s cat back. Like she full on Trojan horsed this man and then hit up homegirl like “I got the goods. Where you wanna meet.” And then the two of them posted a photo of them together with the cat to the group.
And I just think women supporting women is so beautiful.

Hello! ✨
Something for the Thenamesh 10 Things AU!
What about some drama with Arishem. He heard a stupid rumor that his daughter Thena had some dirty time with a "bad boy" at a gas station or a workshop. Arishem was storming out of the house when Thena an Sersi came home and he yelled at her and grabbed her, trying to drag her into the house. And then, of course, Gilgamesh shows up and makes it even worse, because Arishem thinks he's this, in the rumor mentioned, "bad boy".
🖤✨Hugs and Love✨🖤
"Thena!"
Thena and Sersi both jumped as their father's voice rattled the air around them. Sersi stood from where she and Thena were sitting on the front step together. "F-Father, what-"
"Silence," the monstrous man stepped closer to them, forcing Thena to her feet with the pressure of his presence. He loomed over them. "Thena, I have heard rumours of you."
"What rumours?" she asked outright. It wouldn't do her any good to play stupid with her father. "Whatever it is, I'm certain it's false."
"Is that so?" he queried, leaning over his eldest daughter more. "I was told you went looking for...transportation."
Thena bristled.
"It is my understanding that you have formed an associative attachment with someone," Arishem paused, "less than reputable."
"Please say who you mean, Father," Thena asked, which was as good as wagging her finger and sassing him.
"Gilgamesh," Arishem spat out the name with distaste. "A young delinquent who will be lucky to graduate school, let alone attend a secondary education befitting of this family."
"And what does that have to do with anything?"
"You know the rules," he spoke deeply and evenly, eyes bearing down on Thena with her head directed at her shoes. "You do not let the common animals bed you, especially not the likes of unlawfuls."
"Father!" Sersi spoke up in a surprising bout of rebellion. "I don't know what you're talking about but Thena-"
"Was seen with this young man several times," Arishem concluded for his second daughter. And favourite, if Thena needed any more proof than this very conversation. "Including, entering and exiting his vehicle."
"I did not realise asking for a ride was strictly forbidden," Thena spoke up for herself again, which she had never done as much of in the past. But she managed to drag her eyes up to glare at her father, "truly I must be the whore of Babylon, then."
Arishem's eyes flared, only making his dark, devilish appearance even worse. "Enough."
"Father!" Sersi gasped.
"Inside," he snarled, gripping Thena's arm and dragging her up the rest of the stairs and towards the door.
"Hey!"
All three heads turned as a figure walked up the sidewalk and towards the house. "I don't know what the hell's happening, but let go of her."
Arishem stared down the young man walking towards him so brazenly. "You."
"Me," Gil made a face at him. Arishem's height didn't bother him, nor the sheer size of his figure, wide shoulders and monstrous limbs. Gil shrugged at him, moving his jacket with his hands inside the pockets.
Arishem looked down at Thena, in his clutches like a bird being shoved into a cage, "truly? This is with whom you wish to associate?"
"Father, please!" Sersi pleaded, tugging at his other sleeve in an effort to help her sister.
"Father?" he an even more sneering face at him. He walked up a few steps towards them. "You're their asshole of a dad?"
Arishem's spine straightened, each vertebra locking into place so he could glare down at the boy. "You have the audacity to address me so improperly?"
His eyes dashed down to the hand around Thena's arm. "I have a problem with anyone who handles their own kid like this."
"Gil, don't-!" Thena bit her lip as her father pulled her upwards, forcing her to stretch up with the impossible angle of her arm within his frighteningly high grasp.
"Gilgamesh," Arishem addressed, still holding onto Thena like an escaped convict. "I will say this only once: whatever claim to my daughter you think you possess, put it from your mind."
"Put it from my mind?" he repeated back as if he hadn't heard it the first time at all. "The fuck is wrong with you?"
Arishem brought his shoulders forward. "You-"
"No, you!" Gil belted back at him, jabbing his finger up in his face despite the difference in their height. Gil didn't back down in the least in the face of the monster of a man. "You listen to me, fuck-face! I don't care if you're their dad, I don't care if you spoon feed them from gold plates every single day! You don't handle them like this!"
Gilgamesh reached forward, taking advantage of the surprise on Arishem's face and grasped Thena's hand in his. He pulled faintly, but Arishem's grip hadn't loosened any.
His eyes looked as black as coal. "Unhand her."
"Stop hurting her," Gil barked right back at him. "I don't know what happened here, and I don't give a shit. She doesn't deserve this."
"Gil."
He looked at her, grief stricken by the whimper in her voice.
"Enough!" Arishem bellowed, his voice once again seeming like it could rustle the leaves in the trees. He let go of Thena, who stumbled like a fawn into Gil's offered support. "It seems I was right to deem you a lost cause."
"Who the hell talks about their own kid like that?"
"You," Arishem turned his attention back to Gilgamesh, whose hold on Thena's shoulders tightened. "If I ever lay my eyes on you again, your life in this town will cease to exist. Do you understand?"
Gilgamesh didn't even blink, holding Thena against his chest, "I understand that you're a prick who's lucky his daughters didn't turn out to be psychos too."
Perhaps with nothing more he could do to exercise control over the situation, Arishem turned and walked back into the house. The door slammed closed and Sersi's somewhat panicked breathing became more audible.
"Hey," Gil said gently, tipping Thena's chin his way, "are you okay?"
Thena just blinked, somewhat stunned by the past minutes.
"Thena!" Sersi rushed over to her, practically in tears. "I-I-I can't believe Father would-!"
Gil moved aside as Sersi threw her arms around her sister. Thena would never call herself a 'hugger' by nature, but Sersi was always the more emotional of the two of them. She patted her sister's back, "I'm okay."
Her eyes met Gil's, who still had quite a snarly look on his face. "Are you?"
Thena blinked before nodding, "I am."
Gil shifted on his feet, nodding his head in the direction of the front door, "are you gonna be okay going in there?"
Thena had her reservations, but their Father, at the very least, never dwelt on them for long. "I have no concern with what his opinion is of me. But don't worry, he would never expend the effort it would take to hurt me."
Gil eyed her arm--the one that had been wrenched upward in her father's grasp. "You sure about that?"
Sersi pulled herself away from Thena to offer a positively furious expression, no matter how tearful. "I cannot believe Father would act this way. I'm going to tell him that I will never forgive him for this!"
Thena nearly laughed, watching Sersi stomp her way into the house to give 'daddy' a piece of her mind. She rubbed her hands over her arms, "if it comes from Sersi, he is more apt to listen."
"Hey."
Thena looked at him as he placed his hands over hers, letting her guide his hands over her arms as well. She immediately thought of the hoodie that was inside, sitting on her bed waiting for her.
"Are you really okay?" he whispered, as if her father were lying in wait, listening. He ducked his head closer to hers, "you don't have to go in there. My Uncle would have no problem with you staying with us. He has a guest room!--and my room in the basement is-"
Thena smiled, tapping just the tip of her finger to his lips. She had never had the privilege of seeing Gilgamesh ramble on and on. It was endearing. "I am not afraid of my father, Gil, nor will I be afraid of walking into my own home."
"But-" he tried to protest, but she sealed his lips shut again.
"It is a sweet offer," she conceded. She never would have anticipated it, and it was almost humorous to imagine Gil just...showing up with her, like some stray he wanted to keep. "And I appreciate it. But I promise I will be fine here."
He sighed, obviously not in favour of leaving her here to whatever her father had in store for her. "Yeah?"
"Yeah," she echoed back to him, just to see a smile on his face. It was small, but it was there. "I'll come find you tomorrow--prove my living status to you."
He chuckled, stepping back from her with a roll of his eyes, "okay Princess, whatever makes you feel better."
This was very literally for his benefit. But she didn't mind that so much, "very well. Tomorrow, then."
Gil took the steps backwards, staring at her as he made his way back across the street, "looking forward to it."

A murder mystery film set in a medieval village. After an outbreak of plague, the villagers make the decision to shut their borders so as to protect the disease from spreading (see the real life case of the village of Eyam). As the disease decimates the population, however, some bodies start showing up that very obviously were not killed by plague.
Since nobody has been in or out since the outbreak began, the killer has to be somebody in the local community.
The village constable (who is essentially just Some Guy, because being a medieval constable was a bit like getting jury duty, if jury duty gave you the power to arrest people) struggles to investigate the crime without exposing himself to the disease, and to maintain order as the plague-stricken villagers begin to turn on each other.
The killer strikes repeatedly, seemingly taking advantage of the empty streets and forced isolation to strike without witnesses. As with any other murder mystery, the audience is given exactly the same information to solve the crime as the detective.
Except, that is, whenever another character is killed, at which point we cut to the present day where said character's remains are being carefully examined by a team of modern archaeologists and historians who are also trying to figure out why so many of the people in this plague-pit died from blunt force trauma.
The archaeologists and historians, btw, are real experts who haven't been allowed to read the script. The filmmakers just give them a model of the victim's remains, along with some artefacts, and they have to treat it like a real case and give their real opinion on how they think this person died.
We then cut back to the past, where the constable is trying to do the same thing. Unlike the archaeologists, he doesn't have the advantage of modern tech and medical knowledge to examine the body, but he does have a more complete crime scene (since certain clues obviously wouldn't survive to be dug up in the modern day) and personal knowledge from having probably known the victim.
The audience then gets a more complete picture than either group, and an insight into both the strengths and limits of modern archaeology, explaining what we can and can't learn from studying a person's remains.
At the end of the film, after the killer is revealed and the main plot is resolved, we then get to see the archaeologists get shown the actual scenes where their 'victims' were killed, so they can see how well their conclusions match up with what 'really' happened.
