Wrenn's eyes were hazed over, completely devoid of any hope or will. An empty shell, a worthless puppet that had his strings tied right around his joints once again.

Once more, he was Dottore's plaything--and this time, there was no hope of escape.

So when Nene asked him that, he could only laugh. It was thick with despair, of a learned helplessness that ran so deep that he couldn't see any hope in the situation.

This girl was just a child--but she was ensnared in Dottore's grasp, weakening by the day. A little butterfly trapped in a spider's web, cocooned and ready for the moment that spider decided to take a bite.

"... There isn't any hope of getting out of here," he repeated again. "You're better off dead. You humans... at least you can die. Hopefully, for your sake... it'll happen sooner rather than later."

That other puppet, Evan--thankfully, he wasn't around to hear that. Otherwise, Wrenn would definitely be getting an earful.

"Me and your 'brother'... Evan, or whatever. We're going to be trapped here until Dottore is thoroughly done with us," he murmured. "For me, that might be sooner rather than later. But for him... he's in for the worst sort of hell for the next five-hundred years or so. Depends on how long he resists... but hey. At least there is a silver lining to it--"

"Even the most durable toys eventually break. So even if he suffers for a lot longer... at least there will be an end to it. Eventually. Surely..."

It was his only hope--the hope that one day, him and that other puppet could become so broken that they were irreparable. That they could one day "die."

"I just feel bad that he hasn't realized it yet... he's making you suffer for no reason," Wrenn continued. "I hope for your sake... his stubbornness breaks soon. You don't deserve to suffer."
