what camera do you use? your photography is beautiful! <3

Heyo! Glad you enjoy my photography. I have... far too many cameras, so you'll see pics shot on many different cameras. I definitely have some favorites that I use far more than others.

My main camera is a Fujifilm X-T2 and most pics I post are from that camera. It's a great camera that I wish had IBIS. Recently I picked up an X-H1, which has the same sensor and IBIS but I don't like it as much. So, more recent stuff (that I don't think has even posted yet) is from the X-H1. There's also some stuff from a Sigma DP2 Quattro, which I love.

For infrared, I use a 590nm converted Panasonic GX85. I pretty much exclusively use the Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 on that camera. Truly a great little combo & the 25mm f/1.7 is one of my favorite lenses of all time. I also have a Panasonic GH3 that's 720nm converted, so if you see 720nm pics, they're probably taken on that camera instead.

For film, I'm still trying to find a truly great camera. My trustworthy camera right now is a Minolta Maxxum 5000. Most of my film shots on that, though I don't really love the controls. I've been testing out a Yashica Electro 35 GSN that I like the controls of way more, but I've gotta get my test rolls developed before I truly trust that camera.

My 10 Best SOOC Street Photography Series #1

I've chosen some of my best SOOC street photography pictures to share with my readers. There are many various kinds of street photography, as we all know, and I'm not claiming to be an expert, but here are a few of my favourites. I have selected the 10 best street photography photos which were shot with the Contax G1 & Fujifilm X-T4 camera. Previously I have compiled two series of best portrait shots from my portrait work in Kuala Lumpur. Ever since I'm shooting with the Fujifilm SOOC film simulation recipes, I no longer edit my photos with Capture One and all are shared straight out of the camera. Some photos are selected from my photo walk trip to Penang and outing in popular street photography locations in Kuala Lumpur including Chinatown and Bukit Bintang area. For the time being, I will choose 10 of the best photographs to be included in this first series, with more series to come in the future. I usually shoot in Aperture Priority mode while simultaneously mastering zone focusing, which is one of the most helpful skills for street photography. Most of the time, I chose Nomadic Mood, one of my favourite Fujifilm recipes for creating a melancholy colour tone for loneliness, also known as solitude. I couldn't agree more that if you're like street photography, you should try this recipe. If you enjoy street photography, you might be interested in the finest Fujifilm street photography recipes. I enjoy photographing people, regular urban life, and isolation, which generally consists of only one person. I enjoy candid and solitude photography because it allows me to express a dramatic emotion in my images. I generally photograph objects, streets, or people who are walking, sitting, working, standing, or doing something. It is also one of the genres in street photography, and many viewers will probably not comprehend the story behind the photographs. I often enjoy spending lots of hours wandering about the city, maximum up to 4-5 hours in the morning. On weekends, I enjoy going for a stroll and then relaxing at cafés nearby in Kuala Lumpur to rehydrate and I enjoyed my street photography photo walk session even more.

My Best SOOC Street Photography Shots (Dec 2021 - July 2022)

Contax G1, Kodak Ultramax 400 - Pulau Ketam, Klang This shot was captured using the Contax G1 on a trip to Pulau Ketam with other street photographers. Pulau Ketam has several little alleys that are ideal for shooting leading lines with subjects, light & shadow style.

Fujifilm X-T4 - Georgetown, Penang This is one of my favourite photographs from my holiday trip to Georgetown, Penang. I liked the dreamy neon glow on the Gravybaby restaurant's signboard.

Contax G1, Kodak Vision3 500T - Bukit Bintang This is one of my favourite reflection street photos of all time, and I believe it is worthy of inclusion in this 10 best SOOC street photography series. I also prefer how the Kodak Vision3 500T's colour tone in daylight without the 85B filter.

Yashica Electro 35 GTN, Ilford HP5 Plus - Kuala Lumpur I was strolling behind a historical structure and took a snapshot of an older man clutching and staring at his phone. This is the sort of isolation photography that I enjoy, as indicated previously.

Fujifilm X-T4 - Kuala Lumpur The Fujifilm X-T4 was used to capture this image at a Japanese restaurant in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur. After seeing that this situation was pretty appealing to me, I swiftly took the image and applied the melancholy technique for shooting street photography SOOC.

Yashica Electro 35 GTN, Kodak Portra 400 - Penang During my trip to Penang, I photographed some of my best street photography on film. This was photographed early in the morning near a wet market in Campbell Street, Georgetown. I believe it is worthwhile to be included in this list of the top ten SOOC street photography.

Fujifilm X-T4 - Kwai Chai Hong, Kuala Lumpur I find this shot to be pretty eerie, but it also has its own story. It was shot at night while I was doing a film photography challenge at night in Kuala Lumpur.

Fujifilm X-T4 - Kuala Lumpur One of the photos I took was on an outing to the Kuala Lumpur area while the sun was low in the sky. This is perhaps the ideal moment to photograph light and shadow.

Fujifilm X-T4 - Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, Kuala Lumpur This shot may not be perfect, but I captured it at the ideal time, with ray of light through the smoke. It's one of my favourite images.

Fujifilm X-T4 - Chinatown Kuala Lumpur Shot at a prominent location for street photography as well as a tourist attraction. I like how the stall owner is staring at my camera.

Contax G1 - Kwai Chai Hong // June 2022 Last but not least, this was a night photography project shot on Kodak Vision3 500T film. I love how cinematic it appears, almost like a scene from a movie. This street shot is deserving of consideration in the best SOOC street photography series.

Final Thoughts

So here are some of my favourite and best SOOC street photography photos work. I haven't had the opportunity to travel or go on an overseas vacation, but I may have a plan to fly soon, so for the time being, I'll be photographing more around the Kuala Lumpur vicinity. I try to explore new places and hidden moments on the streets of Kuala Lumpur. As I previously stated, I am not an expert, and what I enjoy may not appeal to others. last Monday, coworker v generously put together a shelf for me to make my desk a standing desk and also gifted me books + a Yashica TL Electro X and a Konica SII! shelf has been stained, last coat of finish drying now. gonna take the cameras to the shop this week to sell 'em and hopefully get a nice beginner rangefinder there (I love the way the Konica feels but unfortunately the lens is scratched up and I don't think repair is an option)

and now: green tea, clean and sweep, practice some kettlebell exercises, go for a run and/or do some skateboarding this afternoon. ideally also set up the 'blank year' stories in Scrivener - I think I'm finally almost ready to let myself have fun with those...
