I'm part of a system, though general I'm going to be the main one running this blog!

ᜊ; I made this blog because I find coining terms to be incredibly fun, and wanted a special place for my terms! so, what can you expect from me? primarily, gender and orientation coinings or things that align with such. I can also make name, pronoun, and title packs either for fun or per request. I might also coin other terms. such as things relating to plurality or alterhumanity!

quick side note: I enjoy some media lot of people consider to be "problematic" I consume my interests critically.

INTRODUCTION!!

hi hello! you can call us zootz, teal, sacchi, or capri. we're a system as you may have been able to guess TwT. we use rot/plur pronouns. most of the time, individual headmates will be posting and such. ofc we all have different names and sign offs which you'll learn as we post. most of our art is oc stuff or doodles relating to our system. :33 we don't do fandom work often tho may start soon tbh.

TOS

usage of our art!!

1. you CAN trace our work! (work made explicitly for other people cannot be traced.) you CAN absolutely trace my art as a tool for practice if you find aspects of my style you want to emulate. if you are to post the traced artwork, please give proper credit by mentioning us in the post. and preferably don't post the traced work outside of tumblr unless given expressed permission. do NOT trace and work that is explicitly created FOR another person.

2. you may use our work for icons etc as long as it isn't explicitly created for another person. tbh you can use said icons wherever, we kinda don't care. credit is appreciated for this as well.

3. you can absolutely take inspiration from our art styles , stories, and characters as well. as long as that inspiration isn't super heavy to the point of just copying. if I used a concept for one of my characters that you want to use for one of yours, by all means! you cannot own a concept, and it strongly goes against our personal morals as an artist, as trying to do so does little more than stifle creativity.

4. currently, we are not open to commissions nor requests. we LOVE art trades however, but really only accept them on a case by case basis. if you have any interest don't hesitate to reach out, however. :33

5. we usually don't do dnis or whatever but if you're proship, radqueer, a terf, 'gendercrit', against 'contradictory' labels, anti xenogender/neopronoun, pro contact paras, narc abuse truthers, pro israel, alt right, or basically just gross or weird stay the hell away from us and our art. 🫶/srs we don't want our work associated with scum.

I also played at the ZOOTZ nightclub reunion which was fantastic! Really happy with my set and the place was packed! It was an amazing time. It was real cool to play with some of the DJ’s who influenced me when I first started out, DJ Deb Dufresne, DJ Dale Charles And DJ Overload we’re big in the late 80’s and through the 90’s club and rave scene. Also great to see the other DJ’s, Bob Look (who I used to play after on Sunday nights from 1am to 3am!) Fred Kennedy and Chris Gauthier (O.G. From the 80’s onward) The only DJ’s missing we’re Dj Dale Da Dred Dorsett (hip hop/house dj I looked up to) and Spencer Reed. We all played at ZOOTZ nightclub during that time. FORMAS FÓSSEIS > DANIELA CARBOGNIN

Formas Fósseis (Fotô Editorial, 2021) livro da paulistana Daniela  Carbognin, explora de forma interessante a ideia da ausência visual em relação à noção filosófica clássica da estética do vazio. Suas abordagens estão localizadas entre representação e abstração em um eixo  complementar a clareza visual e suas ambiguidades. Estamos próximos de uma presença visual como prática ancestral e também contemporânea, quando nos referimos ao método de redução da fotografia, a incompletude e metáfora que se estende pelo espaço e o significado de sua construção por meio de uma presença visual se transformando em uma forma de arte. Uma estratégia que encontramos na construção das estéticas orientais.

   Na arte podemos encontrar correspondências nas obras do artista carioca Waltercio Caldas e suas estruturas que consideram o vazio como forte elemento de suas construções minimalistas;  do novaiorquino Gordon Matta-Clark, quando enxergamos suas fotografias de edifícios (exteriores e interiores) em ruínas. Entretanto, como escreve o curador e publisher Eder Chiodetto e a pesquisadora e professora Fabiana Bruno, "os vazios são reveladores de traços e rastros de tudo aquilo que sobreviveu impresso pela ação fantasmagórica do tempo."

Eles também falam que as marcas e a aura das coisas que existiram um dia no espaço que habitamos “estarão lá como latências enquadradas pela poeira do tempo”. Uma pesquisa fotográfica dedicada a tornar visíveis esses ocultamentos. "Imagens emergentes graças aos fósseis das formas das coisas já ausentes." O que nos leva ao livro Branca (Edições Olhavê, 2015) da paulistana Lygia Jardim e sua retórica que prioriza o espaço fragmentado das experiências vividas e sua extinção sistemática e inevitável. Como em Formas Fósseis, equaliza a passagem histórica e o acúmulo temporal na dicotomia entre o que foi fotografado e o que não foi.     Outra conexão entre as duas publicações é a questão do luto, que retoma a ligação familiar. Para Lygia Jardim, a morte da avó e o posterior registro fotográfico de um apartamento em desmonte. Para Daniela Carbognin, uma visita a um apartamento fechado por um ano, depois da morte de sua sogra. Em ambas situações uma referência afetiva a ligar o passado e o presente, e, entre estas o vazio contemplativo de suas marcas temporais e materiais.

Há na fotografia uma salutar recorrência à esta temática, quando também nos aproximamos do livro Antes do inverno ( Ed.Olhavê, 2020) da chinesa Chen Hui Li, que trata do espaço sendo esvaziado de sua antiga casa após a morte da mãe, e suas indeléveis marcas de existência. Em todos, o espaço fica para trás, mas a memória não. O vácuo entre a existência e a memória, este "vazio" é materializado em fotografias delicadas, íntimas e poéticas.  Embora a fotografia nos mostre similitudes o tempo todo, Formas Fósseis distancia-se dos demais por outro aspecto, o uso da cor como forma. É um livro praticamente em meio tons de cinza. "Era uma atmosfera de" grisalhas" das coisas, escrevem os editores. O termo remete a pinturas monocromáticas (em tons de cinza, branco e preto) produzindo um efeito de baixo relevo, aplicada na pintura decorativa. Para Chiodetto e Bruno, "a grisalha" seria para as cores do mundo o mesmo que a poeira para consistência dos objetos". A referência pode ser encontrada no ensaio Grisalha do livro Falenas- Ensaios sobre a Aparição (Ed. Kkim, 2015) do francês Georges Didi-Huberman, um autor que tem um lugar cativo no pensamento dos editores.

    Em mais detalhes, para Didi-Huberman: " há uma ação e um poder do tempo sobre a cor das coisas, assim, a grisalha não será propriamente uma cor, mas o coloris de descoloração que o tempo impõe às coisas... bem como aos seres ." Por outro lado, penso que é muito interessante notar a intencionalidade no uso tonal que se torna eficiente, chamando atenção para seu caráter simbólico, com a cor adquirindo uma condição de expansão e apoiada pelo repertório da fotógrafa onde são afastadas as impossibilidades mais tradicionais deste uso, transformando-se claramente em arte.

Podemos pensar em um ideal da cultura oriental de "espaço vazio" como algo profundo e infinito, o espaço interior, ou o espaço do espírito, o espaço do pensamento dos seres humanos, onde existe o poder misterioso do desconhecido, não sendo vago nem inexistente, visto que é dinâmico e ativo, relacionado com o local preeminente de transformação, onde a plenitude da fotografia pode alcançar sua verdadeira medida na descontinuidade e reversibilidade ao permitir que seus elementos transcendam a mera formalidade material, percebida pelas afinidades mais íntimas da autora.

   A ausência visual, embora às vezes referida como um possível "espaço negativo" não se mostra em alguma conotação negativa. "O vazio tem suas próprias virtudes"- como pensou o filósofo taoísta Lao Tzu (VI a.C.) em seu Tao te Ching, um clássico da filosofia oriental- ao mesmo tempo que nos oferece a possibilidade de aproximarmos de um nível maior do universo.

Daniela Carbognin nos mostra certa recursividade exercida sobre e em respeito ao seu próprio "Eu" em uma configuração estética em constante mudança, visto que não é apenas um caminho trilhado, mas sim o forjar de um percurso novo a ser seguido. Como escrevem Eder Chiodetto e Fabiana Bruno, "As coisas ausentes em sua materialidade tornaram-se linhas de força deste ensaio que investiga o vazio, a passagem, a flagrante desaparição da memória."

 Daniela Carbognin, é graduada e mestra em Ciência da Computação pelo Instituto de Matemática e Estatística da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) com doutorado em Inteligência Artificial pela Edinburgh University, fundada em 1583, uma das mais antigas da Escócia. É aluna do Programa de estudos avançados de fotografia do  Ateliê Fotô, coordenado por Eder Chiodetto.

Como embasamento estético, a construção do livro, impresso pela própria editora, com montagem e acabamento artesanal, tem o miolo impresso no papel Markatto Stile Bianco, com textura que salienta o prazer tátil. A capa em papel Galego Apara Branca Recuperada, com aplicação serigráfica de uma fotografia, emula a tessitura das paredes que ilustram o percurso da autora. O projeto gráfico é de Fábio Messias ( Zootz Design) e a coordenação editorial de Elaine Pessoa, com uma tiragem de apenas 110 exemplares numerados.

Dinosaur Jr. - You’re Living All Over Me

This album was highly influential on me and on the alternative rock scene.  Released at the end of 1987, I first heard “The Lung” over WBOR FM from Bowdoin College and I was hooked on those big, distorted guitar power chords.

The opening of this album has more distortion and “Wah” pedal then I had ever heard.  And the lo-fi closing track, “Poledo,” is a nice primer for bassist Lou Barlow’s other band, Sebadoh.  I saw Dinosaur Jr. in a little venue called Zootz in Portland, Maine.  It was the loudest show I’ve ever been to in my life.  Something about Meat Puppets and Dinosaur Jr. rings my guitar-lovin’ bell.  I have and love all their albums.  A lot has been said (and written) about this album and its influence on, maybe Kurt Cobain, maybe all of lo-fi indy rockdom.  For certain, it opened my musical mind to the grunge rock that was on the horizon in ‘87.  We hope you’ll open your mind to the possibilities and listen to, “You’re Living All Over Me” with us this week.

I had a couple but they are taken by either squatters or a mix of social media people.How important is a name in terms of its relationship to the business?
