The pilot of Elementary is so good. I’m sitting here with a Cheshire grin on my face. And I love love that the ended with Elvis Costello’s Watching the Detectives! First of all because I LOVE that song but then I found out it’s also a reference to a straight-to-DVD flop Lucy Liu made called the same thing! I’m so happy to have a new murder mystery series in my life, it’s a good time.

Having recently picked up crochet, I decided at Xmas this year that I'd make blankets for my mother in law and my mother for next Xmas.

This one is for my mother in law. I'm uhhh using the wrong sized yarn and a smaller hook than the pattern calls for, so it's ending up a lighter weight than I think expected, but tbh I think I like how it's turning out. (I already adjusted rows/repetitions to produce a blanket of comparable size)
