Fic - Donnerstag 20:37

So, I wanted to write a little something and I was out of ideas so while talking with @stazyros she reminded me that I wanted to explore the Thursday clip of s3 episode 9. I wanted to look at how we could still have had the Friday clips happen as they do (for all that they’re not perfect, I do still like the way that Friday works) and yet have Matteo not just sitting at home. So here we are. This is my little ‘imagine if Matteo and Laura went out looking for David that night? What might that have looked like?”

It’s pulsing in Matteo, the terror that started nudging at the edges of his consciousness when he first got Laura’s message at the church. Then, he’d thought he could deal with it. He’d send a message and everything would slot back into place. David would answer, they’d come together to Matteo’s home and everything would be fine. Better than fine.

Instead he’s here in his bedroom. Alone. Pacing. Anxiety is coursing through him. I’m worried about him. I’m worried about him. I’m worried about him. Laura’s words press in on him. I’m worried about him.

“I’m worried about him, too,” he whispers, looking down at his phone.

The two messages he’s sent this evening stare at him and he can feel the panic rising in his chest.

“Fuck,” he mutters, fingers twisting painfully in his jacket to avoid doing something stupid, like throwing his phone away again. His body aches to do just that - send something hurtling towards a wall to assuage his growing fear as he considers his actions. He wishes Hans was home: he always has a way to settle Matteo and get his thoughts back into focus. But the place was empty when Matteo barged in a few minutes ago and he’s all alone with his whirling thoughts.

Did you find him? His phone lights up with a clearly desperate text and his heart clenches. She’s feeling it too, then. Of course she is. The two of them are probably the two who care about David the most. Of course they’re the two who worry about him the most.

No, Matteo responds. I’m scared for him

Come over? she sends Maybe we can talk together to figure something out

A brief flash of relief hits Matteo. He doesn’t have to be alone in this. The anticipated long, anxious wait through the night, not sleeping because how could he, dissipates into a realisation that he can share his fear with someone else, someone who will understand. Maybe a shared fear is one that can be controlled.

Even so, Matteo’s heart is pounding with stress and fear (and okay maybe a little with how unfit he is) when he makes his way up to Laura’s home. The door is open just like last time which sets a dark hand clawing at his throat. This has never been an easy place for him to come to. Matteo takes a deep breath before stepping across the threshold. She’s sitting at the table in the same position, hands again clutching a drink but clearly this time not really paying any attention to it. Her lips are pressed tight together and there’s a wild fear in her eyes when they lift to meet his. Matteo feels her pain in that one look.

“What do we do?” he asks, laughing quietly as he says it. How silly and simple that sounds, as if they can really do anything.

An answering smile ghosts over her lips then she grimaces. “He left Fürstenberg earlier today,” she says almost too quietly for Matteo to hear as he drops into the chair opposite hers at the table. “He was okay then. Cheerful.” She shrugs. “Somehow between then and now, something happened.”

Matteo nods. “It got too much,” he says. He can still hear David’s voice as he said then I run. Hide. That’s what David does when catastrophe strikes, he hides. And as much as Matteo might wish it were different, he knows things feel catastrophic for David. So this all makes sense. Matteo can trace the events and the reasons for them. But still. If David’s hiding then what chance do they even have of finding him?

“Where would he go?” he asks. “Can we find him maybe? He could be anywhere.”

“I already tried the railway station,” Laura says, sighing. “I had hoped he was just waiting for me there. But…”

“Is that when you contacted me?”

Laura nods. “Again, I hoped he’d be with you.” She takes a breath, shaky but determined. “Okay, let me think. There were a couple of places he’d go, back before we moved out. When stuff got a bit much he’d go walking for hours. He discovered the most ridiculous stuff that way that all fascinated him. Cemeteries were his favourite.” She chuckles, wryly and without any real amusement. “That stupid vampire movie of his…”

Matteo’s lips tug upwards briefly. “So maybe we start in the cemeteries. Go vampire hunting.”

Laura rolls her eyes, but she pushes back from the table with a sense of purpose in her eyes as she shares a hopeful look with him.

So they start, each filled with a similar gritty purpose. Laura’s head is down, her hands shoved deep into her pockets as she walks, feet crunching on the rough pavement. There’s a flush on her cheeks in the dim light from local streetlamps and Matteo can see the tension in her shoulders even through the jacket she’s put on.

“He’ll be okay,” he says softly, trying to convince himself as much as her, still feeling the clawed fingers of anxiety clutching at his chest whenever he lets his mind veer too close to the idea that maybe they won’t find David.

Laura glances at him, understanding in her eyes as she nods. “He will,” she agrees. “Here.” She indicates a cemetery across the road, with a wrought-iron gate and a rustic stone fence. “He loves this one.”

Matteo can see it, see David bonding with this place. It has the exact sort of romantic gothic sensibility that David used to play up with his air of mystery and his black and formless clothes. He can picture a younger David feeling like he fit in here with the lost souls, the run-down ancient graves on the edges of the city. A misty rain starts to fall, adding to the eerie atmosphere as they scale the gate into the, thankfully small, space beyond.

He shivers as they make their way, torch apps out to light their way among the broken stones almost covered in moss and grass through years of neglect. Matteo curses the impulses that make this the sort of place David would feel some sort of connection and comfort. Trudging through the knee-high weeds alongside Laura is a harder struggle than Matteo had expected.

“David!” Laura calls out. “If you’re here, you asshole, I’m going to kill you myself.”

Matteo allows himself one small amused snort. “You think that will help?”

Laura shrugs. “Can’t hurt if he’s a little scared of me.” She grins at him, a brief flash of humour in a situation that feels heavy and uncomfortable. It helps, a little, that she’s here with him.

“David!” Matteo calls. “I won’t kill you!”

“Traitor!” Laura mutters as they push further into the tangle of vegetation between the graves, and he sniggers.

It’s fairly obvious that David won’t be here. Everything is too undisturbed, the pressure required to make their way deeper into the space is too intense for there to be any chance that David is here. And yet, Matteo can’t bring himself to give up before he’s checked every inch. And it’s obvious that Laura feels the same way. The slight moment of humour has dissolved into a steely strength as she purses her lips again and presses ahead.

Eventually, though, Matteo has to admit defeat. The purpose and energy that had coursed through him as they set off has gone. David isn’t here. There are hundreds of other cemeteries he could be in, millions more nooks and crannies in the city and the night is darkening, rain settling harder and Matteo’s heart is squeezed almost to breaking.

He sinks down onto the stone fence at the far end of the cemetery and sighs. Invisible ghosts float around him; ghosts of David and the people who rest here. Ghosts that try to feed off his despair. Laura sits next to him and squeezes his hand.

“He’ll be okay,” she says. “We’ll find him.”

"What if we don't?"

Laura shakes her head at that. "I know him," she says quietly. "You know him. If he's in Berlin we know how to find him."

Matteo nods. That’s the one thing he does know. If David is in Berlin, the two of them will find him. But that’s the problem. If.

"I wasn't sure about you, you know. At first." This time there's definite amusement in Laura’s voice and Matteo shrugs.

"What do you mean?"

"At your party," she says with a chuckle. "You were so awkward."

"Well, I thought you were his girlfriend," Matteo admits. "I was jealous."

The smile that lights her face is infectious. "Idiot," she says affectionately, knocking his shoulder with her own. He knocks back, laughing.

"I really was." He looks over at her. "And now?" He asks. "How do you feel now?"

"Now I think you're pretty ok. You worry too. You care too. That's all I really want for him."

Matteo nods. He gets it. It had hurt back when she closed him out of their home, closed him off from David. But he understands now the ways in which she was protecting him. He's just grateful that she's letting him in. Letting him be worried with her. He sucks in a deep breath, steeling himself for their next attempt.

“Where else could he be?”

They keep on moving, place after place, time after time. Always hoping that this next bright sparking idea will be the right one. The abandoned park. The street art. The underpass. A music spot that has Detroit connotations. Everywhere either of them can think of. Through it all, she’s with him. Laura. The one who cares as much as he does. The one who will also never give up.

Eventually, they’re both too tired to do the search any justice. Matteo slumps against a wall covered in lurid graffiti. It seemed fitting when they thought of it, something David would like, and yet he’s still not here. The rain has cleared up leaving glistening streaks running down the vibrant contours of the paint in the gleam of the streetlights. They look like tears.

“We have to sleep,” Laura sighs, her head tipping back, rolling in the way heads do when their owners are too tired to hold them up.

“We have to find him,” Matteo counters. Even in his exhaustion he can feel the squeeze of fear banding his heart at the idea of quitting, pulling it tight.

“We will,” she says, leaning her head against his own. “But for now we need to sleep. You know as well as I do that he’s asleep somewhere. He’ll never hear us calling, he’s such a heavy sleeper.”

Matteo laughs, a small puff of amusement. While he usually wakes before Matteo, there was the one time David slept through all of Matteo’s infatuated ministrations so she’s probably right.

He sits up. “I’ll send a message,” he says. “His PE exam is tomorrow. I can check for him there.”

“Yes,” she agrees. “And I’ll go home to make sure I’m there if he comes.”

Matteo nods. As little as he wants to part from her, he recognises the sense in that.

“I’ll go home too,” he says reluctantly as he drags his phone out of his pocket. He sends a quick message then looks at her.

“Tomorrow. We find him tomorrow,” he says.

“Today,” she counters. “It’s already today.”

“Today, then,” he agrees. “We find him today.”

He stands up and reaches a hand down to her, slipping a little in his exhaustion but managing to pull her onto her feet. They share a hug, long and meaningful, one that leaves his throat clogged with emotion, before they each head back to their own homes, hoping that David has somehow ended up at one of them. Knowing that he probably hasn’t. But knowing, most of all, that they have each other as they keep up the long vigil. That the dawn that’s coming is a new chance. After the dawn they can find him.

NEW YORK — The city of New York is settling lawsuits filed on behalf of two men who were exonerated last year for the 1965 assassination of Malcolm X, agreeing to pay $26 million for the wrongful convictions which led to both men spending decades behind bars.

The state of New York will pay an additional $10 million. David Shanies, an attorney representing the men, confirmed the settlements on Sunday.

"Muhammad Aziz, Khalil Islam, and their families suffered because of these unjust convictions for more than 50 years," said Shanies said in an email. "The City recognized the grave injustices done here, and I commend the sincerity and speed with which the Comptroller's Office and the Corporation Counsel moved to resolve the lawsuits."

Shanies said the settlements send a message that "police and prosecutorial misconduct cause tremendous damage, and we must remain vigilant to identify and correct injustices."

Last year, a Manhattan judge dismissed the convictions of Aziz, now 84, and Islam, who died in 2009, after prosecutors said new evidence of witness intimidation and suppression of exculpatory evidence had undermined the case against the men. Then-District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. apologized for law enforcement's "serious, unacceptable violations of law and the public trust."

The New York City Law Department, through a spokesperson, said Sunday it "stands by" Vance's opinion that the men were wrongfully convicted and the financial agreement "brings some measure of justice to individuals who spent decades in prison and bore the stigma of being falsely accused of murdering an iconic figure."

Shanies said over the next few weeks the settlement documents will be signed and the New York court that handles probate matters will have to approve the settlement for Islam's estate. The total $36 million will be divided equally between Aziz and the estate of Islam.

Aziz and Islam, who maintained their innocence from the start in the 1965 killing at Upper Manhattan's Audubon Ballroom, were paroled in the 1980s.

Malcolm X gained national prominence as the voice of the Nation of Islam, exhorting Black people to claim their civil rights "by any means necessary." His autobiography, written with Alex Haley, remains a classic work of modern American literature.

Near the end of Malcolm X's life, he split with the Black Muslim organization and, after a trip to Mecca, started speaking about the potential for racial unity. It earned him the ire of some in the Nation of Islam, who saw him as a traitor.

He was shot to death while beginning a speech Feb. 21, 1965. He was 39.

Aziz and Islam, then known as Norman 3X Butler and Thomas 15X Johnson, and a third man were convicted of murder in March 1966. They were sentenced to life in prison.

The third man, Mujahid Abdul Halim — also known as Talmadge Hayer and Thomas Hagan — admitted to shooting Malcolm X but said neither Aziz nor Islam was involved. The two offered alibis, and no physical evidence linked them to the crime. The case hinged on eyewitnesses, although there were inconsistencies in their testimony.

Attorneys for Aziz and Islam said in complaints that both Aziz and Islam were at their homes in the Bronx when Malcolm X was killed. They said Aziz spent 20 years in prison and more than 55 years living with the hardship and indignity attendant to being unjustly branded as a convicted murderer of one of the most important civil rights leaders in history.

Islam spent 22 years in prison and died still hoping to clear his name.

Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? Therefore the LORD himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. - Isaiah 7:10-14 KJV

We are familiar with this prophecy which came true for Ahaz when his wife bore him a son and it is also considered fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ. We sometimes think of prophecies as only referring to the future but prophecies are given to speak God's Truth to the people and had as much reference to the time when it was uttered as it did to the future, as it does in this case.

One current example is the climate changes that have taken place over the past fifty years. Early on, scientists warned that unless we change our behavior, there will be a warming of the oceans that could be catastrophic especially to lands bordering the oceans. This is truth, and God is using the scientists to send the message. The early scientists were either ignored or their findings were rejected. Most of the reason for this is because it could be damaging to the economy of the most industrial countries. In the past year, we have seen a greater incidence of floods, storms and fires. Billions of pounds of ice have melted in the Arctic raising the levels of the oceans. The forests that help oxygenate our air supply are being cut down in the name of progress and burning because of the lack of rain and the increasing heat.

The prophets of our time are ignored just as the prophets of the past. They may not seem to be God's messengers, but one of the commands that God gave humanity was to take care of this world he created. Ahaz refused to ask for a sign, but God gave him one. We didn't ask either, but God gives the world signs all the time and it is our responsibility to recognize them and respond. God gave us dominion over all that He had created. It is our responsibility to preserve the world and the Gospel Truth for those who will come after us. May He help us to make the changes that are needed without worrying. He extends salvation to everyone, and we want to show the world the freedom, hope and peace they can have in accepting and following Him. May we follow and serve God daily with love, trust, awe and wonder. May Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ strengthen our faith, lift our spirits, protect our hearts, and show us opportunities to help bring others to Him and His Gospel Truth daily.

We must come to Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ with sincere hearts to ask forgiveness and follow Him and His Holy Word and Spirit always. We praise Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for the mercy He bestows upon us and we are grateful for His grace and mercy and infinite blessings. By surrendering our hearts and our lives to His will, we see all the blessings He has bestowed upon us. God our refuge and our salvation and our constant provider. We lift our voices to Him in praise for His steadfast love, mercy and understanding. May Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ open our minds and hearts more and more to perceive and embrace Him and His truths. May He help us to find time to pray and read and study the Holy Bible daily and to find power in prayer, praying according to His Holy Word and will. May He help us to come to Him in true repentance and with faith in Him and His grace and merciful nature. May He give us the grace, courage and strength we need to walk with Him and do His will daily. May He teach us to watch our words when we pray to Him and to speak reverently and rightly. May we continually ask God to transform our hearts and make us faithful and humble as we walk with Him daily. We must come to Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ with honest, humble and repentant hearts. We must seek Him and His will and choose to follow Him all the days of our lives. May He help transform our hearts, help us to seek and live for Him above all else and to grow spiritually and build our faith and relationship with Him with each passing day. May He forgive our sinful nature and help us always make Him and our relationship with Him top priority.

As true and born-again Christians, we choose to walk in His righteous path and lead a life that is pleasing to Him. We desire Him and His will above anything else. We desire to walk in accordance with the love and light He has shown to us through His Holy Word and Spirit. We long for a deeper relationship with Him and a deeper fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ as well. When we fall into temptation and sin, we must turn to Him for forgiveness, strength and guidance. When believers learn to walk in accordance with God's Holy Word and Spirit, they have deeper fellowship with both God and one another. And the sin that could threaten to destroy that fellowship, if confessed (1 John 1:9), is covered in the blood of Jesus Christ and no longer a barrier between us and God. May we ask Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ to forgive us for any sins we have sinned this day or in days past. May we be faithful to Him and His Holy Word always. May He help us to walk more consistently in the light and to not neglect long to confess and forsake any sins that hinder our walk with Him. May He lead us in the direction He wants us to go so that we may seek and serve Him faithfully. God is holy and almighty and deserving of all praise honor and glory. We rejoice in Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ, knowing He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He is the Alpha and the Omega (Revelation 1:8). May our hearts always be filled with thanksgiving and rejoicing. May He help us to praise Him freely and honestly like all believers who came before us. May we live a life that showcases our love and trust in Him and His Holy Word and Spirit as He uses us draw others to Him and His soul-saving Gospel Truth daily. May He continue guide, correct and protect us, so that we continue to grow in Him and not weaken and stray. May we all remain faithful to Him and to this duty and purpose He has called us to. Seek and put your faith and trust in Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ and let Him do the rest. May He humble our hearts and help us focus on following and serving Him daily and helping others with joy and happiness. We lift our voices in praise to Him for His love, mercy, peace, faithfulness and grace - For EVERYTHING!

It is vital that we remain rooted in Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ through prayer and His Holy Word and Spirit and that we live and walk as a beacon of His light and love and share and spread the Gospel Truth daily, so that the lost souls in this world can come to know Him and be saved. The more we focus on Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ, growing spiritually by building our relationship with Him, leaning on Him and His Holy Word and Spirit, the better off we will be. Thanks to this and our faith in Him, we know that everything will be alright. And we will forever be grateful to Him. As true and born-again Christians, we believe in Him and His Holy Word and we strive daily to walk in His Holy Spirit. We know though our mortal bodies should die, He will raise us up and into new and glorious bodies (The Rapture). We who are truly His and alive at His second coming will never die, and our bodies will be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, and so shall we ever be with Him in His Kingdom of Heaven forevermore (1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). This is one of many promises given to us by God Himself. Thank God for His strength and guidance when we are faced with sin and temptation. Thank Him for His mercy and grace. Through Bible study and prayer, God reveals His wisdom and guides us to see opportunities to grow closer to Him and grow spiritually. He gives us direction to live our lives daily according to His will.

Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to Heaven (John 3:5, 14:6), the ONLY way to salvation (Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9) and He is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25-26). Jesus Christ the LORD of lords, the KING of kings, the GOD of gods (Deuteronomy 10:17, 1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 17:14, Revelation 19:16) - He is the Living, Almighty and Everlasting God (Isaiah 9:6, Revelation 1:8, John 3:16, John 3:36, Jeremiah 10:10). There is no other God besides Him (Isaiah 45:5). We MUST humble ourselves before Him, turning our backs on false teachers, false gods and idols and our sinful ways. We MUST repent and turn back to God and recognize who He is and love Him in return for His great love for us. We MUST make God top priority everyday! May we be motivated to spread God's Holy Word and Gospel Truth to all the Earth, knowing that it is the only hope of all those lost in their sins. Let us not hold out a false hope for men to be saved without the Gospel, but instead, strive to do our part to get the Gospel out to a lost and dying world.

Leaning on Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ through prayer and His Holy Word and Spirit strengthens us and our knowledge and wisdom about God and His Gospel Truth, exposing these imposters. May God help us to seek and lean on Him daily to gain the strength, wisdom and spiritual discernment needed to expose Satan and his imposters who seek to destroy us and God's ultimate Truth. Everyday, we must remember to share Jesus Christ's Gospel Truth with the world and to thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for the grace that He poured out for us on the cross at Calvary. He has freed us from the burdens of sin and from the eternal damnation of Hell. In all we say and do, may all praise, honor and glory always be given to Him and His Kingdom of Heaven.

With renewed minds, hearts and wills, let us serve Him humbly and faithfully out of pure love and grateful rejoicing. May He remind us of His presence and to remain at peace, fully knowing that all will be well because He is always with us. Let us seek Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ today and everyday with all our heart and being, looking for His love, light and will for our lives with each step we take. Let us seek to please Him with our thoughts, words, and deeds and seek to advance His Kingdom of Heaven and His glory with our lives. Let us seek Him from a pure and humble heart, and when we so seek, we believe Him and His promise that we will find. May He help us all to be more sensitive to the teaching ministry of His Holy Word and Spirit, relying on Him and allowing Him to speak to us and guide us every step of our Christian journey.

God gave us the Holy Bible - His living and Holy Word - to let us know of Him and His abiding love and care as well as guide and prepare us for all our lives. May He help us encourage one another as we continue our walk with Him and our duty to Him daily. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for being present for all our new beginnings and all our lives. May He redirect any anxiety we feel as He provides countless opportunities for growth and change. May we humble ourselves before God always, asking Him to forgive our sins and make our hearts and lives anew through His Holy Word and Spirit. May He help us make Him and His Holy Word top priority, so we can grow spiritually and grow in our relationship with Him as we apply it to our daily lives. Thank God that we can focus on Him and everything about Him, for that is what keeps us sane and at peace. May our words and actions always be a reflection of Him and His Holy Word and Spirit and will.

May He help us to always walk in His grace and Holy Spirit, not by our own measure. May He give us the humble humility to know that our freedom and eternal salvation is found only in Him, so that His grace may sustain us, and we may never lose sight of His love and light and mercy. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for calling us to Him and to serve Him. May He equip us to do all that He has called us to do so that as He works through us, He may use us to produce fruit, to reach others, and to encourage all brothers and sisters in Christ. May He work all of these things in us and through us for His Kingdom and His glory. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for all His creation, for His miraculous ways and for everything He does and has done for us! Keep the faith and keep moving forward in your walk with Jesus! He loves us and He knows what is best for us. Seek, follow and trust in Him - Always!

Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for His Holy Word and for sending His Holy Spirit so that we might have His grace, not only to awaken us and transform our hearts in our spiritual rebirth and guarantee our eternity with Him, but to also call upon Him whenever we are in need. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for all the reminders of His love and mercy and faithfulness within His Holy Word. He is bigger than any challenge or circumstance in our lives. Knowing this within our minds and our hearts, nothing can deter our faith in Him and His Truth. May we all accept Him and His eternal gift of salvation and ask that He would transform our hearts and lives according to His will and ways. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for His Holy Spirit who saves, seals and leads us. May we always thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for His almighty power and saving grace. For He is our strength, and He alone is able to save us, forgive our sins and gift us eternal salvation and entry into His Kingdom of Heaven.

May we make sure that we give our hearts and lives to God and take time to seek and praise Him and share His Truth with the world daily. May the LORD our God and Father in Heaven help us to stay diligent and obedient and help us to guard our hearts in Him and His Holy Word daily. May He help us to remain faithful and full of excitement to do our duty to Him and for His glorious return and our reunion in Heaven as well as all that awaits us there. May we never forget to thank the LORD our God and our Creator and Father in Heaven for all this and everything He does and has done for us! “God, the Author of love and peace”

Today’s reading of the Scriptures from the New Testament is the 13th and closing chapter of the letter of 2nd Corinthians:

This is my third trip to your city and community. As the Scripture says, “Every charge must be confirmed by two or three witnesses.” As I said before on my second visit, I say now again while absent. Consider this an advance warning, if you wish, to those of you still caught up in your old sins and to all the rest as well: when I come the next time, I will not spare anyone who is out of order. You asked to see evidence that the power of the Anointed One, the Liberating King, is at work in me. Well, you will see it because He won’t be weak in dealing with you. Instead, He will do great things in you. Now it’s true that He was crucified in weakness, but it’s also true that He lives by God’s power. For we who belong to Him are weak in Him, but we will live with Him by God’s power for you.

Examine yourselves. Check your faith! Are you really in the faith? Do you still not know that Jesus the Anointed is in you?—unless, of course, you have failed the test. Surely you will realize we have not failed the test, but we pray to God that you will stay away from evil. What’s important is not whether we appear to have passed the test, but that you do what is right and act honorably, even if it appears that we have failed. For there’s nothing we can do to oppose the truth; all we can do is align ourselves with it. You see, we celebrate when we are weak but you are strong. Our prayer is simple: that you may be whole and complete. How I hope I am saving you by writing this to you in advance; this letter will spare me from using the Lord’s authority to come down on you when I arrive. His intention in giving me this authority is to build you up, not tear you down.

Finally, brothers and sisters, keep rejoicing and repair whatever is broken. Encourage each other, think as one, and live at peace; and God, the Author of love and peace, will remain with you. Greet each other with a holy kiss, as brothers and sisters. All the saints here with me send you their greeting.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus the Anointed, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit remain with you all. [Amen.]

The Letter of 2nd Corinthians, Chapter 13 (The Voice)

Weakness looks like failure in the eyes of the world, but for Paul weakness is an avenue to share in Jesus�� death and, therefore, in His life as well. The challenge is to remain faithful even in the difficult times, even when there is no one left to provide support. It is in these times that God’s power and comfort are most evident. This call to embrace weakness and suffering is difficult. It is normal to run from pain. But the examples of Jesus in the Gospels, of Paul in his letters, and of David in the psalms are of finding God’s strength in times of weakness.

Paul ends his letters as he begins them, praying that grace be with those who read this letter. From first to last, the life of faith is framed by grace.

Today’s paired chapter of the Testaments is the 30th chapter of the book of Jeremiah:

The word of the Eternal again came to Jeremiah.

Eternal One: Write in a book all the words I, the Eternal, the God of Israel, have said to you. Look! the days are coming when I will restore the fortunes of My people—both Israel and Judah. I will bring them home to the land I gave their ancestors, and they will again possess it.

So says the Eternal in a message about Israel and Judah.

Eternal One: A cry of fear is heard—

it is the sound of panic, not of peace.

Ask and see for yourself:

can a man give birth to a child?

Then why do I see strong men clutching themselves,

their hands on their abdomens as if they are in labor?

Why has every face paled, looking sickly?

I will tell you why:

for that great and awesome day is like no other.

It will be a time of suffering for Jacob’s descendants;

still they will be rescued from it.

For on that day of deliverance, declares the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies, I will break Nebuchadnezzar’s yoke off their necks and tear off their shackles; no longer will foreigners force them into slavery. Instead, they will serve the Eternal their God, and I will raise up a descendant of David their king to rule over them.

So do not be afraid, O Jacob, My servant;

do not be troubled, O Israel.

For I, the Eternal One, promise to liberate you from that distant place,

to bring your children home from where they are in exile.

Jacob will return home to peace and quiet,

and no one will make him afraid,

Because I am with you, and I will deliver you.

I will completely destroy all the nations where I have scattered you,

But I will not destroy you completely.

I will discipline you, but My discipline will be just.

I will not let you go unpunished.

Your wound is incurable;

your shattered pieces are beyond repair.

There is no one to plead your case—

no healing for your injury,

no relief for your affliction.

All of those allies you loved have forgotten about you;

they care nothing about you.

For I have struck you as an enemy would

and punished you like the cruelest of foes.

Why? Because your sins abound

and your evil actions are abundant and brazen.

Why do you cry out over this wound,

this pain that won’t go away?

I have done these things to you because your sins abound

and your wicked acts are abundant and brazen.

But all those who devour you will be devoured.

Exile awaits each of your enemies.

Those who plunder you will be turned into plunder,

and all who prey upon you will be turned into prey.

For I will make you well again and heal your wounds

I, the Eternal One, declare to you,

Because they have called you an outcast:

“Look, it is Zion, the one for whom no one cares.”

I, the Eternal, have this to say: Look, I will bring back those from captivity.

I will show mercy to Jacob’s tents and dwellings;

From the ruins I will rebuild Jerusalem,

and the palace will once again stand where it belongs.

Songs of joy and gratitude will rise from the people.

I will bless My people and increase their numbers; nothing will diminish them.

I will honor them in the presence of others;

no one will despise them.

Their children will live as they did long ago,

their community will be established again before My watchful eyes,

And I will punish anyone who tries to harm them.

The prince who leads them will come from among Jacob’s descendants;

their ruler will be one of their own.

I will draw him near to Me, and he will delight to come close,

for he will devote himself to remain close by My side.

And as before, you will be My people,

and I will be your God.

Behold, the storm of the Eternal’s wrath will now break open,

swirling down out of the sky like a whirlwind onto the heads of the wicked.

The Eternal’s anger will not relent until He has carried out His most fervent plans.

You will understand all of this in the days to come.

The words of Jeremiah are often dark prophecies of destruction, for Judah willingly betrayed and disobeyed God. Clearly, a major aspect of his call is foreshadowing the coming judgment of God. But in the following oracles, Jeremiah delivers a strong message of hope to those in exile. The next three chapters are often called the “Book of Consolation.” Tucked in the middle of vivid declarations of God’s punishment of the unjust, these promises speak of hope and restoration. These, too, are part of the prophet’s message.

The word sukkot (סוכות) is the plural of the Hebrew word sukkah (סוכה), meaning a "booth" or "hut." In traditional Judaism, a sukkah is a temporary structure used for "living in" (i.e., primarily eating meals or entertaining guests) throughout the week-long holiday. The purpose of the sukkah is to remind us of how God tenderly cared for the Israelites as they made their trek through the dangers of the desert. God spoke endearingly to Israel: "Follow me into the wilderness, into an unsown land" (Jer. 2:2).

The Scriptures state, "The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down" (Psalm 145:14). It has been said that the word sukkah can be understood as an acronym formed from the words somekh Adonai (סוֹמֵךְ יְהוָה), "the LORD upholds," kol (כָּל), "all," and ha'nofelim (הַנּפְלִים), "the ones who fall." This suggests that those who make a sanctuary within their hearts, trusting in God’s indwelling Presence, will be upheld and kept from falling (Jude 1:24). God knows many need this truth to be made real in this hour...

The Kotzer Rebbe said that the verse, “this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him” (Exod. 15:2), may be understood as, “this is my God, and I will make a dwelling for Him within me.” Though the LORD is forever enthroned in heaven as our Creator, King, and Deliverer, we still must make a dwelling within us. He stands at the door and knocks. “Where does God dwell,” it is asked, “but where He is given a dwelling place, a sanctuary, a throne within the heart?”

Bearing and Helping to Bear

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ....For every man shall bear his own burden.” (Galatians 6:2, 5)

This is one of the most commonly cited Bible “contradictions,” the apostle Paul commanding us, almost in the same breath, to bear other people’s burdens and yet to bear our own burdens. There is, however, no real contradiction, and both commands are equally valid and important.

The problem is partly one of translation. There are two Greek words used here, baros and phortion, respectively. The first means “heavy load,” the second “responsibility.”

When a Christian friend has been stricken with a great burden—whether sickness, financial need, death of a loved one, or even a grievous sin in his life that he has been unable to overcome by his own strength (see v. 1)—he needs desperately the love and support of his Christian brethren. The Scripture assures us that when we help relieve this burden, we “fulfill the law of Christ.” The previous chapter also notes this: “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Galatians 5:14).

At the same time, the privilege of having Christian friends who will share and help with an otherwise unbearable load does not at all absolve us from the responsibility of doing our own part in carrying out our God-given responsibilities. There is no place in the Christian warfare for Christian beggars or Christian crybabies. “Study to be quiet, and to do your own business. That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without” (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12).

The preceding verse (Galatians 6:4) had urged that “every man prove his own work.” Since God has both created and redeemed us, we can be sure He is concerned about us and will not allow trials, or place upon us duties, that are greater than we can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). HMM

The Writers Guild of America called for a strike on May 2 after negotiations for fair pay and streaming-era regulations broke down, leaving late-night and variety television immediately impacted, the future of your favorite show an open question, reality and animated TV the only sure things … and no Pete Davidson–hosted SNL episode. Celebrities voiced their support for the strike in the days and weeks leading up to the anticipated walkout, but the first Monday in May proved to be the most fruitful moment to get them on the record about the then-potential seismic event. “Everything changed with streaming, and everyone needs to be compensated for their work,” Amanda Seyfried told Variety on the Met Gala red carpet. “It’s fucking easy. I don’t get it.” Jimmy Fallon, who also attended the fashion extravaganza, said he “wouldn’t have a show if it wasn’t for my writers, and I support them all the way.” Game of Thrones mastermind George R.R. My thoughts about the JESC 2022 songs. Part 2:

(This will be in order of release of the videos at the official JESC YouTube channel)

🇦🇱 Kejtlin Gjata "Pakëz Diell":

From the dancing rhythm songs we now go to the JESC ballads with this entry of Albania. But don't leave, please, this one hits as hard as possible with its purpose, considering the actual situation we all know about, and the song's tune is something good.

The videoclip really takes the title of the song almost seriously: A bit of Sunshine to illuminate a monocrome world, a ray of hope for those difficult times and for those who feel alone. And Kejtlin's voice is something astonishing to join the ethereal soft melody. I can understand that most of the JESC fandom are not rooting for this one, but at least we can give Albania a chance to shine with this song and place it at Top 10 at least. It's something good, indeed.

🇰🇿 David Charlin "Jer-Ana":

Kazakhstan: The country we can say "Why aren't they competing at the official adults' Eurovision Song Contest?". They share their potential at Junior and THEY HAVE IT: One example, before this entry, is their 2020's entry "Forever" by Karakat Bashanova. If the live version has not been strong enough with the lyrics and emotions, the studio version and context behind the song (Karakat sings this to her dead father) can make it heartbreaking and say "again, how did this not win?". (I can't hear the fricking song in any version once without crying at least a bit. I loved "J' Imagine" and France as a JESC host, but this was a winner too)

Now, to this year's entry. They want to avenge their failed good attempts to win every JESC they competed with a strong ballad and a strong message: a boosted and less groovy version of "Green Forces" with a touch of "Pakëz Diell" with the vibes of "Everything I Need" from Skylar Grey. And they don't dissapoint.

While it's not as heartbreaking as Karakat's song, it is something strong both in melody and message. Most of the videoclip visuals talk for themselves. And again, singing one portion in English and then hit it hard with their native language, something that is becoming less common in both ESC and JESC but reinvindicated slowly recently. One of the songs not into my "greatest" favorites, but if David wins or enters the Top 3, this can be not only surprising, but also give Kazakhstan their boost to enter the adults' ESC and the victory they could have had years ago.

🇷🇸 Katarina Savić "Svet Bez Granica":

Serbia at JESC. If there's something they like to do well, regarding their rhythm and their place at the voting results, is to send their melodies in their native language. And if I expected my thought of "Jovana and Dunja are JESC's Hurricane but only two of them and more into a ballad" to be the only "JESC-ESC" coincidence I imagined, this year's JESC song was something that made me say "This is the Molitva (Serbia's ESC winning song at 2007) of JESC..."

Calm, orchestrally soothing, moving vocals and graceful movements at the videoclip...The song (after researching a bit) talks about the feeling of finding your true love, not letting anything to diminish it, and telling it in a poetic way to everyone. And THE TROMBONE, FROM ALL THE INSTRUMENTS. Katarina plays the trombone in a way that surprisingly complements the song well. While again, not into my "greatest" favorites, this song is soothing for relaxing you and help you rest well. I could give her a chance :D

🇫🇷 Lissandro "Oh Maman!":

Now returning to your scheduled moving songs...

France giving quality JESC songs 4 times in a row? Yes, it's not an illusion. From Carla's "Bim Bam Toi" to Valentina's "J' Imagine", followed by Enzo's "Tic Tac", and now succeded by Lissandro's "Oh Maman!". And each one not dropping the quality of the other, regardless of the rhythm.

This is, in my POV, what happens when one mixes Enzo with "Hamilton" with a portion of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "I'm Still Standing", and luckily, it resulted fantastic! Look at him, just vibing and imagining himself being a superstar at the stage, living his dreams and telling everyone about them. :3 Not for my "podium" favorites, but let's be honest, with that French tone and happy vibes, he can get easily into the Top 5!

Ps. Stupid Pokemon X/Y-related random thoughts in my mind. I know Lissandro is derived from Lyssandre and so on, but please, this kid is NOTHING like said villain!

🇵🇱 Laura "To The Moon":

After their second place at the podium of last year's JESC, Poland had to put their bar higher or at least the same Sara James left for this year's JESC. And MY GOSH, this electronic space-vibing song got the spot BY FAR!

The setting of the videoclip could not be more futuristic than ever, and reminds me of Malta's entry by far. Laura's imagination and curiosity come true, even for just some minutes, complementing the song's vibes. She is one of the strongest contenders in this edition, competing with the Netherlands, Malta, UK, Spain and so on with such good moving vibes! Not the "greatest" favorite of mine, but hey, maybe Poland could get a second victory or Top 3 in a row? :o

Ps. Finally, an accurate depiction about how some folks like me are like in an interactive museum: a neurodivergent playground to explore and be curious and imagine! ;w;

CLoves: The Waking Up App 💙

It's literally not just a meditation app. No alerts to make you feel like a failure for skipping a day, truly scrumptious content for the mind body and soul, no charges if you can't afford it, no questions asked.

I love free stuff. Not only because I'm stingy (maybe), but I really believe the best stuff the world has to offer in life is free, and should be. So this is what really got me about the app before diving into its content. It doesn't stop at giving you a 30-day free trial without asking for a credit card, but you can get a full-year scholarship with no questions asked when you truly can't afford it. You just listen to a short message from Sam Harris, the founder and voice for most of the content, send an email, and a few days later someone sends you a very nice email saying you get a year of free subscription (normally $14.99 a month for people who can afford it). And you can do it again next year (which I did, went from student to graduate so it's justified). I really think all business models should be something like this. Sam says in his podcast (called Making Sense, which also has the same business model) that he didn't expect this to work out or be able to support itself, but I guess this type of radical generosity really pays off.

I've been listening to David Whyte's spoken poetry series on the app every night before bed, for a few months now. He reads his beautifully and deadly simple putting-together-of-words in his deep, soothing voice, but also gives background and context to each poem. Each recording is 5-10 minutes long, perfectly bite-sized, and a perfect balance of intellectually juicy food for thought as well as meditative insight. I love having poetry explained to me, telling me the state of mind in which he wrote it, where he was, who it was about, and just super insightful anecdotes that make the poems that much more memorable.

I'm not as good at keeping up a daily meditation practice, but Sam makes it really easy to get back into it.

This is the homepage of Waking Up. Every day, the daily meditation updates, with today's date and a new unseen artwork. You don't really know what you're gonna get every day, how much he's gonna talk, what instructions he'll give (all while sitting comfortably), whether you open or close your eyes, how theoretical he'll get, how much he'll just leave you be in silence. That really works for me, so I don't have any preconceptions of what may come. I just click on the beautiful artwork (the list of artists can be found here) and sit. I also love how it shows how many people are practicing with you at that moment. I don't notice it much, but it's such a nice feature and a pleasant thing to acknowledge. You also choose whether you want a 10-minute session or 20-minute session. I sort of switch depending on the day, but honestly if I don't do the 20 then I just skip it altogether lol.

The homepage is like Spotify, with recommendations and features to guide me on what next across my overthinking mind. Look at the cute artworks!!!

Excuse the lazy layout, but these are the different pages that are Theory, Practice, and Life. This is one of my favourite things about it. They're not just meditations, but crazy stuff like full-length exclusive Alan Watts talks and series by some of the biggest thinkers and practitioners, including my favourite David Whyte series. I started with his Consolations series where every poem explores the meaning, paradox, and complexity of everyday words, e.g. "Genuis", "Ambition", "Heartbreak', etc. They really really hit the spot for me, and I've learnt so much from them. Sometimes they just perfectly align with what you're going through and tell you exactly what you needed to hear. Now I'm on his Contemplative Action series, and it's sooo good.

When I tried Headspace, I hated that they reminded me every day that I didn't meditate and it keeps piling up in my notifications, I just wanted them to leave me alone. But with Waking Up, you get a little contemplative message every day with the title "Take a moment?", and if you click it it takes you to a ~40 second voice message from Sam saying something nice and deep. And an artwork. The one I got yesterday said, "Each of us is looking for a path back to the present. We're trying to find good enough reasons to be satisfied." Thank you Sam for the little bit of data that will go into my subconscious and feed the cats that are hungry for good thoughts.

But if you want to start with some kind of structure, the app starts with an Introductory Course that has about 30 sessions. But no pressure to follow day 1 day 2, they're just called Meditation 1 and so on, and the sessions vary from ~8-15 minutes. They're also accompanied by a nice non-compulsory theory session that goes hand in hand with the meditation for more conceptual backing. To kind of give a ballpark, he explores the sense of self, metta (loving-kindness), the power and necessity of thoughts, mindfulness and its usefulness, and much much more.

Waking Up has given me such good guidance when I need it without forcing it down my throat. I'm still trying to maintain an every day practice, but I also don't blame myself when I don't. Everything about it is just so soothing, including the amount of charity they're doing with the app. In their 100 Days of Giving, random members will be selected to direct $10,000 to one of 10 highly effective charities, with a total of a million. Their radical generosity is infectious, and they truly make the world a better place. I love them very much.

Embry Call x Reader

Most of my life has been spent in the Forks area so getting to travel to Europe for six months to see the art and culture was a dream come true. The past four months I’ve been travelling through Europe, starting in Greece and ending my trip in the Irish countryside.

The old art and architecture filled me with a joy that I could not get anywhere else in the world. The smells, sounds and sights all played their own part into the experience. I got to see the moon rise over Mount Olympus, the David by Michelangelo in the Vatican, tour through the Louvre, drink wine on the beaches of France and so much more. I’ve been living my best life.

It's been a dream to see the world, I've met so many new people and tried so much food. I’ve enjoyed every minute of my trip, but there was a part of me that longed for the beaches of La Push.

That part is Embry. Embry Call. My boyfriend, my pal, my love and my light. To me Embry is my everything and to him I’m his everything. That is one thing that has been made perfectly clear the past four months I’ve been away. Every day he’s told me he misses me and I know he means it, I’ve been told not just by him but also the rest of the pack.

Everyday I’ve woken up to ‘Good morning I miss you.” Sometimes he phones to tell me that he feels like he might die if I’m away for any longer. I always chuckle and tell him he will survive, it’s not like I’m going away forever; but that's what he feels like it is. This usually earns me a long winded whine from the other end of the line.

My phone buzzed against the smooth surface of the bedside table while Embry’s face flashed across my screen signalling that he’s calling. A smile graces my lips as I pick up the phone to be greeted with his loving voice.

“Hi (y/n)!! I miss you so much.” sadness was laced in his usual cheery greeting, it hurt my heart to be away from him but I would never trade this experience for anything. I’ve been planning this for years and I wasn’t going to pass up cheap plane tickets.

He filled me in on the pack's shenanigans, complaining about how they keep teasing him for being glued to his phone awaiting any updates I would send him. The later it got the heavier my eyelids seemed to feel, my speech started to slur with exhaustion of time zones while Embry continued to become more energetic with each passing minute.

“Em. . .” A yawn interrupted me mid sentence, a low whine emanated from the phone as he knew I would want to get to bed to have the energy for the long trip I’ll embark on tomorrow for Ireland, which is my last stop. I’d be spending the remaining two months of my trip in the lush countryside.

“I think I should get to sleep, I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.” I mumbled into the phone.

“But (y/n)!” he dragged out. I knew he wanted to talk longer but I physically cannot do it. Even though Embry and I don’t live together officially yet, we’d talk into the early morning till one of us fell asleep.

“But (y/n) what?” I dragged out the ‘a’ matching his whine.

“I miss you and want you to come home.” I could hear him pause over line before he continued.

“Besides, sleeping isn’t the same without you.”

I ran my hand through my hair gently tugging on the roots easing the tension that’s built up over my trip. As much fun as I’ve had, he does have a point. Sleeping just isn’t the same without Em. My nights have been spent restless in beds that aren’t mine without the comforting touch of my boyfriend; but that doesn’t mean I can just drop everything and go back home.

“Em you know I can’t just pack everything and go home. . .” I looked at the painting that hung over the tv that sat opposite of my bed. A puppy-like whimper fell from his lips when he spoke again, his voice cracked like he was going to cry. It broke my heart hearing him upset.

“I-I know I just really miss you.”

“I know Embry I miss you too, but it’s only two more months then I’ll be home.”

We chatted for ten more minutes before I fell asleep on the phone. As much as I missed falling asleep in his warm embrace I can’t just fly back home, not yet at least.

The blaring of my alarm woke me from my slumber. The clock face read 6:02 a.m. taking everything within myself to peel back the blankets that encased me in their warm grip. I patted through the bed sheets to find my phone only to knock it onto the floor in the process.

My lock screen adorned a photo of Embry with icing smudged across his face from his birthday party but a swamp of text messages from the pack covered my favourite photo of him. Five texts from Leah, seven from Jake, nine texts from Paul, 12 texts and two missed calls from Sam and a whole group chat titled ‘(y/n) come home.’

The group chat kept pinging with the members of the pack who were still awake discussing the logistics of flying out to Ireland to take me back home. Was Embry really causing that much strife in the pack for them to create a group chat? Knowing him, it couldn’t be too far from the truth.

Leah and I call once a week to check in and make sure the other is doing okay since I left. It’s one of my favourite parts of the week being able to have a one on one with someone sensible. Every week she fills me in on Embry begrudgingly, she does it because she knows it makes me happy which I appreciate.

Reading through her texts she didn’t say much in regards to Em’s behaviour the only message relating to him was “come get your man child please, he’s getting snot on the floor.”

I listened through Sam’s voice mails which were begging me to come home, he informed me that once Em knew I was asleep he started moping around Emily’s house again for the fourth consecutive night in a row. This was news to me.

The texts entailed that Embry was becoming a pain on patrol and that Paul ‘couldn’t take another minute of the incessant whining.’ I told them the same thing I told Embry; I’m not dropping everything and rushing back home to sooth the wails of a love sick boy. There isn’t much I can do from across the ocean anyway.

I stretched my body and headed towards the bathroom to brush my teeth and shower before I had to leave for the airport.

I packed the few remaining things I left out to prepare for the flight and headed my way to the lobby to check out. I enjoyed travelling but I wasn’t going to miss sleeping in hotels and hostels.

Two weeks have passed since I touched down in Ireland and to say I’ve been having the time of my life is an understatement; I’ve been having a ball living my best life.

The land was capped in a luscious emerald green sea of grass that waved in the wind, the roads were lined with hand built stone walls that marked the division of farmers fields.

Sheep and cattle grazed in pastures, and old castles dotted the countryside. It was gorgeous. It was a view that I wanted to see again, a view I want to see with Embry.

It felt like time was flying by between sight seeing, trail hiking, museum tours and calls with Embry and Leah. It has already been a month. I had one more month before I was to jet set back to the U.S. and see my Embry.

One more month before I was back in La Push surrounded by the scent of sea water and trees with the looming threat of rain constantly overhead except in the summer. For two months of the year La Push was bright and sunny with the expected summer storms that happened.

I had fallen asleep on the phone with Embry again when I realized my phone was lost in the sea of sheets as it buzzed with an incoming phone call.

I couldn’t find it until the call had gone to voicemail and my phone landed on the ground when I gave up and ripped the blankets off of the bed but whoever called must have felt it was really important. Picking up my phone the most unflattering photo of Jacob was plastered on the screen, his name in white.

“Hello?” I asked groggily into the phone, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I looked over at the clock which said in bold red numbers 1 am.

“Hey (y/n)! You sound like you just woke up.” I heard him chortle from the other end.

“That’s because I just woke up Jake, it’s one in the morning.” a yawn escaped my lips, I know I’ll have a rough time getting over jet lag when I go home.

He occupied twenty minutes with idle chatter and borderline interrogation about all the sights I’ve seen before I asked him why he was calling me so early in the morning

“Embry has spent the week at my house, you need to come home there’s nothing we can do anymore to occupy him till you return.” He sighed, Jake knows I want to finish my trip but we made a deal that I would come home early if there were absolutely no options left to keep Embry from sending the pack into hysterics.

I knew he was buttering me up for something.

“Are you sure you can’t figure something out? It’s just another month!”

“Another month of him eating my cereal and getting dirt on me from my dad!”

I snorted with laughter at the fact that Billy was telling Embry every embarrassing detail from his childhood.

“Jake please just let me think about it okay?” I sighed, flopping back into my hollowed cave of blankets and sheets.

“Okay, I’ll let you think about it but don’t think I won’t be telling Sam.” he warned.

We laughed together and he wished me a good night before hanging up the phone, before I slipped back into slumber I sent Jake one more text.

‘You wake me up at one in the morning again and it’s over for you.’ in which he responded with ‘Oh no I’m so scared lol.’

I reached over to the bedside table and plugged my phone in before the sweet embrace of warmth and slumber took over my senses.

The next three days I was bombarded with texts from Paul whining about the wolf mind link and how every patrol shift he had with Embry was spent tuning out his constant thoughts of me.

Standing in the shower with hot water running over my skin soothing my tense muscles I heard my phone buzz against the granite countertop. I rolled my eyes and continued to bask in the endless hotel hot water.

As bad as staying in hotels could be, the hot water made up for the early breakfast and sheets that were tucked in a little too tightly.

I had shampoo in my hair when my phone started buzzing again, this time with a call. I grumbled under the stream of water washing away the soap before it could get in my eyes; whoever's calling can wait.

I moved on to conditioning my hair, letting it sit while I wash the rest of my body with a lightly scented lavender soap.

I refused to use the complimentary soap because it dried out my skin and the lotion just left me feeling sticky instead of moisturized.

Watching the soap run down the drain my phone rang again, I clenched my fists, who could possibly be calling me now? I still refused to get out of my steamy heaven to answer my phone.

My gut told me that whoever was calling wouldn’t let up until I answered. I washed out the conditioner from my hair and wrapped it in a towel.

The mirror was coated in a layer of steam, the tiles were cool against my feet. I wrapped the plush towel around my body, mopping up the droplets of water that remained.

My phone started vibrating with rapid fire text messages from the pack’s group chat they made a month ago. I sighed, picking it up to sift through the messages. I read a message from Jared telling me he’d pay me to return.

The pack always made me laugh, together they’re a walking sitcom. There is never a dull moment with them, someone always had something witty or sarcastic to say.

I checked to see who had called me and it turned out it was Sam, I listened to his voice mails and immediately phoned him back.

As soon as I hit the call button it only rang for half a second before he picked up.

“Thank you for calling back, I thought I’d have to call two more times.” he chuckled.

“Well I was in the middle of a shower, can’t really take a call there.” I moved through the room with my phone pressed between my shoulder and cheek. Stopping at my suitcase to pick out what I was going to wear for the day.

“I’m going to be frank with you, I need you to come home. . .” I let out a huff before he continued.

“Embry needs you badly, he’s just a pile of mush on the floor now. It’s a chore to get him up to go on patrol. Please?”

“Fine, I’ll see what I can do Sam, I’ll try to book a flight for the earliest date I can find.” I knew I was giving in but from what they were telling me and the constant texts were getting to be difficult to manage.

“Thank you, when you get back I’ll buy you take out for a month okay?”

“I hate that you know what my weakness is.” I laughed through the phone, a month of free take out? Hell yeah. It made the prospect of going back a little brighter since I wasn’t going to complete the rest of my trip.

I wasn’t losing out on too much though, I had seen and done everything that I wanted. It wouldn’t be too bad to go home early.

We talked for a couple more minutes before parting ways, I threw my phone on the bed and watched it bounce a couple times before turning my attention back to getting dressed. Since I had a flight to book it was okay to spend the rest of the day lounging in pj’s.

The soft fabric of my pj’s brushed against my skin as I jumped into bed with my computer in hand, and now it was time to book a flight back home. Maybe text Paul and tell him he can quit complaining as well.

I woke up the next morning with my flight booked for take off in the afternoon and my daily good morning text from Embry. I felt a little sad to be leaving such a beautiful country but the trees, ocean and Embry all called my name.

Pacing through the room I grabbed the comfiest set of clothes I packed for my return flight back to Seattle, I had enough time to sleep on the plane to be conscious enough for the three and a half hour drive back to La Push.

I was set for a long day ahead of me but it was going to be worth it in the end, seeing the bright and happy face of my boyfriend, getting to hug him and kiss him again.

I made one last check of the room before I gathered my clothes and toiletry kit and made my way into the bathroom to shower before my long flight. As I was stepping into the shower my phone pinged from the counter with a text from Sam.

“Have you booked that flight yet?” it read.

“Yeah I’m due for take off at 1. I should be back in La Push some time tomorrow!”

My fingers brushed the cool surface of the counter top as I put my phone back and got into the shower, hot water immediately running down my back; this time my phone wasn’t being blown up by a desperate wolf pack trying to get my attention.

I can’t sit in the shower for hours on end this time, I have a flight to catch and a boy to surprise. Embry was currently still under the impression that I would be coming home in two weeks. Boy would he be in for a surprise.

The residual steam wafted out of the bathroom while I brushed my teeth revealing my towel wrapped body and hair in the mirror behind the skin. I checked the time and noted that I had two hours to check out, make my way to the airport, and check into my flight back home. Two more hours before I could smell the trees and ocean, two more hours before I could see my friends and hug Embry.

The time managed to move by in a blur by the time I was shutting the trunk of the yellow cab that was going to drop me off at the airport. I got into the back seat and the driver peeled away from the hotel front onto the winding roads.

“Aye where are you headin’?” The driver inquired in a thick Irish accent.

One thing I noticed in my stay here was that the accent changed in every town or village I passed through. It added to the charm

“Well, I’m on my way home after spending six months in Europe.” My eyes scanned over the green hills that rushed past in a blur.

“My favourite places I’ve been have definitely been Ireland and Greece.” I smiled towards him.

The lines around his eyes crinkled with the smile that graced his face at the mention of Ireland.

“Well that’s good to hear innit? Glad you’ve enjoyed your stay. We welcome ya with open arms if you return.”

We held a light conversation until we arrived in front of the drop off area for passengers, thanked him and grabbed my bags before heading into the crowded lobby.

The front of the terminal was metal and glass that reached towards the heavens with automatic doors gaping open like a mouth. Inside was a dull white with light grey floor which my shoes clicked against with each step.

It was packed with people like a can of sardines, I weaved my way through the masses towards the check in desk which thankfully only had a short line to get through.

Under the mix of fluorescents and natural light the desk lady’s bags that donned under her eyes glared with visible exhaustion from the mass amounts of people that swarmed the terminal.

Despite her clear drowsiness she still greeted me with a warm smile and a soft hello.

I grabbed my ticket and thanked her then turned and pushed myself through to the security check, dropped my luggage off and took a seat to wait for the boarding call for my flight.

As I waited grey clouds started to fill the sky blocking out the little sun that was once shining in its place.

My eyes grew heavier by each minute that passed, waiting could be hard, but waiting in an airport where there’s no sense of time is worse. So I distracted myself by people watching.

A lady was bouncing her baby, the old man across from me was snoring. A businessman paced back and forth speaking urgently into his phone, a family chatted excitedly for their family trip to the Canary Islands.

I pulled my eyes away from them as the call for my flight rang out over the crowded terminal, grabbing my suitcase and making my way towards the gate.

Excitement filled my every step as the anticipation grew and bubbled inside me. I gave the greeting flight attendant a small smile and made my way to my seat, for being last minute I managed to get a window seat.

We sat on the tarmac for twenty minutes before taking off and before I knew it the seat belt light pinged off and I was fast asleep jet setting my way back to America, back to my home.

I couldn’t tell what time it was when I woke up but the clock on the tv screen said 2 a.m. and that we’re due to arrive in an hour. I sat up in my seat and gazed out the window into the starry night sky.

Energy started to course through me as I watched the arrival time tick closer and closer. A light rain misted down over Seattle as I left the Seatac terminal and made my way through the maze of cars in the night that was made darker by the rain.

I spotted my blue Subaru and popped the trunk so my interior and seats wouldn’t get wet. It had been a long six months since I last sat in my driver's seat, the wheel almost felt foreign in my hands as I turned the key and listened to the engine roar to life.

I drove through the winding roads of the city to the Seattle-Bainbridge Ferry to take the 45 minute ride into Bainbridge and headed North to get on the 101 then turn onto 110 which would take me back into the heart of La Push.

The closer I got to Forks the brighter the sky became; well as bright as it could be on a gloomy day. The clouds became painted in the glow of purple and pink as the sun rose over the horizon, the rain had let up and left me with an overcast sky for the remainder of the drive back.

Since I slept virtually the entire flight back I didn’t feel the weight of exhaustion at all, but surely when I arrived back in the arms of Embry I knew I’d hit the wall with sleep deprivation.

As I barreled through the corridor of trees I passed the signature ‘welcome to Forks’ sign and turned right onto the 110, twenty minutes to home. I was so close but my soul felt like it was light years away.

The clock on my radio told me that it was currently 6:45, the pinks and purples that coated the sky faded away to the typical grey that fills my senses with delight. Sea salt and washed up kelp started to seep into the air that circulated into my car making the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

Closer to Beach Drive I got the stronger the smell of the ocean became. The turn signal clicked as I turned onto the road that gave way to Sam and Emily’s house so they could take me over to Embry’s in the off chance that he happened to be awake at this hour.

It’s highly unlikely that he would be up at this hour but it’s not something I could be one hundred percent positive about. I stepped out of my car and turned around to see Emily running as fast as she possibly could towards me with open arms and a huge smile plastered across her face.

Dropping my bags I dashed across their lawn into her embrace.

“Oh (y/n)! I missed you so much, you must be so tired.” She released me from her hug and settled her hands on my shoulders giving them a gentle squeeze.

“I missed you too Emily, I knew I’d be tired but not this tired.” I chuckled while wiping at my under eyes in a feeble attempt to wipe away the exhaustion.

She put her hand on my lower back and led me inside for the awaiting cup of tea while Sam moved my bags into his truck.

The warmth of their home embraced me, the comfort of their kitchen was familiar. The only thing missing was the rowdy group of boys that made up the pack who usually occupied every available seat in the home.

I took a seat at the kitchen table where three cups of tea sat waiting, I should have expected a q and a when I returned. Wrapping my hands around the mug the warmth that radiated from it filled my hands.

Emily took a seat beside me and Sam entered through the door and sat adjacent to both of us.

“So how was the trip?” We sat around their table chatting until our cups were empty and filed out of the house into the early morning air.

“Emily and I will drive your car back to your place after I drop you off at Embry’s, the kid’s been sleeping in my living room more often than I’d appreciate.” Sam’s eyes crinkled with a smile, I knew he was joking but at the same time there was truth to his words; and honestly I couldn’t blame him.

“Thank you for putting up with him while I was gone, I owe you guys one and you owe me take out for a month.” He rolled his eyes and ruffled my hair turning into the Call's driveway. Embry’s mom had already left for work leaving him to his own devices; which meant he would sleep in as late as his heart desired.

We got out of Sam’s truck and he dropped my bags on the doorstep. I turned and gave him a quick hug and a thank you before sticking my key into the lock.

The door creaked open and I dragged my suitcases to a stop in their front entry way and shut it behind me.

My shoes landed on the floor with a soft thud and I gingerly walked up the stairs to ensure I wasn’t too noisy while making sure to avoid the one squeaky stair.

I got to the top of the stairs and hung a left down their light beige hallway that gave way to the oak door that guarded Embry’s room. His soft snores filtered through the door, it’s door knob was cool in my hand. Making an audible click with the turn of my wrist.

Dark mahogany brown hair peaked up from beneath the sheet that tucked Embry’s body out of view. One pillow was on the floor while the other was tucked firmly between his cheek and arm, I smiled at the sight of my sleeping boyfriend which filled my every inch with the utmost joy.

My sock covered feet pressed into the carpeted flooring with each step I took towards his bed making sure to step over the piles of dirty clothes that were scattered around the room.

The sun filtered through the gaps in the window blinds casting pools of golden light on the floor and along his walls causing the crystal prism that hung above his closet to sweep dashes of colour across his walls.

I pulled back the grey top sheet to reveal his peaceful face and I swear my heart was going to burst with the amount of love that I feel for him. His hair was tousled in every direction and a cow lick stuck straight up on the left side of his head.

My hands ran over his hair, smoothing it out while I whispered his name. Embry groaned a bit and rolled over, I whispered his name a little bit louder and moved my hands from his hair to his shoulders running them along his arms finally waking him from his slumber.

“Hi Em!” I gushed out as his brown eyes opened and focused on me. His face split with his toothy smile and his arms shot around me, pulling me down into his chest.

“Do you know how much I missed you?” Embry mumbled into my hair.

“I figured a lot with the amount of texts I got from the pack.” I reached up brushing the hair from his face.

“You can never leave me for that long again. . .I didn’t know what to do without you here.” He ran his hands through my hair placing a gentle kiss upon the top of my head.

“I was so worried about you. I couldn’t protect you and make sure you were safe.”

“Well next time I’ll make sure you can come, then you don’t have to worry.” Craning my neck up I placed a kiss upon his lips which were still a bit swollen from slumber.

“The important thing is that I returned safe and in one piece. The other important thing is I get to spoil you with the gifts I brought back!”

His laugh filled the room sending vibrations through my body.

“Hey! That’s my job to spoil you, not the other way around.” He ruffled my hair causing us both to laugh. I peeled off my socks and wiggled my way under his blanket.

“I think it’s time we catch up on six months worth of cuddling.” I poked a finger into his side.

“Yeah I think that’s a good idea, you owe me for being gone so long.”

“What? I came back early!” His hands made their way under my shirt to rest on the bare skin of my back sending waves of heat through my body from being pressed into him. Oh how I missed my heater.

“Yeah, by like what? Two weeks?” his silky voice chuckled out.

“I missed you Embry.” I told him, placing a kiss on his exposed shoulder.

“I missed you too. Now let's go back to sleep, you look tired.” He said to me as he rested his chin atop my head and pulling me closer.

Yu Yu Hakusho 2009 Blu-Ray Booklet

Part I (pp.1-17): Comments from Yoshihiro Togashi and Japanese Voice Actors

Part II (pp.18-35): the rest of the characters’ profiles, anime episode guide and interview with the animation staff.

This 35-page booklet comes with the 2009 Blu-Ray Edition. The illustrations were made by Mari Kitayama, anime’s character designer. It has a brief summary of the characters (no new information). I’d just like to highlight the messages from Yoshihiro Togashi and the Japanese voice actors:

1. Togashi drew Yusuke leaving a message

“Thank you for buying!!! Enjoy it!!”

2. Main cast comments: the four voice actors, who played the main characters, share their memories and send messages to the fans.

Note: The Picture Drama mentioned by the voice actors in their messages is the one recorded exclusively for this Blu-Ray BOX in 2009. I did my best to adapt some Japanese expressions to English, so I’m sorry for any mistakes.

Nozomu Sasaki ● Yusuke Urameshi

Profile:

- Born on January 25th, Hiroshima Prefecture;

I went to an anime convention held in Seattle the other day. There, I had the chance to meet and talk with many anime fans and everyone I met said that they love "Yu Yu Hakusho". When I signed an autograph for a hardcore guy who was cosplaying Yusuke, I thought I was the one who wanted his signature, and for a beautiful lady who drew a really cool picture of Yusuke and showed me, I seriously thought about asking her to give it to me. I was impressed by the fact that although it is a work from 17 years ago, it is not old to the fans and they are still loving it. I feel like "Yu Yu Hakusho" has revived within me. And with this Blu-ray release, "Yu Yu Hakusho" has been revived even more! Whether you've seen it in the past or for the first time, please enjoy it. "Yu Yu Hakusho" will surely be revived many times in the future, I am very happy to have met this wonderful work that has been loved by people all over the world for a long time and continues to live on.

Shigeru Chiba ● Kazuma Kuwabara

Message:

It has been known for a long time among some intellectuals, as a matter of course, that this three-dimensional space, the Underworld and the Spirit World exist in such a way that they overlap due to differences in wave motion. We are "conscious beings" that are currently using our physical bodies as a tool to learn how to love and control our emotions through our experiences in a three-dimensional space-time, but the man I played, Kazuma Kuwabara, also learns what is important to humans by meeting Yusuke and his friends.

This time, when "Yu Yu Hakusho" was made into Blu-ray, video commentaries and a picture drama were recorded. Even though it has been more than ten years since the broadcast ended, the atmosphere has not faded but rather has become more vivid.

Unlike audio commentary, video commentary appears as live video, so it is different from a normal recording. However, when the director gave a signal to start, the conversation proceeded with each of us instantly feeling and comprehending the division of roles.

A work is not completed by staff and cast alone. The reason is that it cannot be viable without the existence of a third creator, the "audience", who is the most important thing beyond the point of transmission.

The love and support of the fans elevates this work and makes it grow. In that sense, the work "Yu Yu Hakusho" can be said to be a masterpiece that has been sent out to the world together with its fans. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our fans again. Thank you! And thank you for your continued support!

Megumi Ogata ● Kurama

Profile:

- Born on June 6th, Tokyo;

- Affiliated to JTB Entertainment;

- Representative works are: "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S" (1994) as Sailor Uranus; "Magic Knight Rayearth" (1994) as Princess Emeraude; "Neon Genesis Evangelion" (1995) as Shinji; "Cardcaptor Sakura" (1998) as Yukito Tsukishiro etc. In addition to releasing many CD albums as an artist, she appeared as a storyteller in the NHK special program "Kaidan Hyakumonogatari" (2009).

Message:

"Every role I play is important”.

That's what I always answer whenever I'm asked what my most important work is. It's true. Without any one of them, I wouldn't be where I am today, so all of my works are important. However, there are few works that make my chest ache just by looking back and it’s so painful that it grabs my heart tightly (for me, looking back = the feelings of the role come down to me). "Yu Yu Hakusho" is undoubtedly one of the first works on the list.

Yu Yu Hakusho is one of my debut works as a voice actress (at the same time, I played the role of Shizuo in "Tsuyoshi Shikkari Shinasai").

A very popular character of a very popular work that suddenly shook an industry where I had no idea what I was doing. Moreover, the difficult role of "a high school boy possessed by a youkai who has lived for 1,000 years”...I am happy. There are not many voice actors who can make such a debut. But to be honest, it was hard for me at the time. Not only because of the pressure, but also lots of things going on at the same time in the environment...Nevertheless, I can live here and now because I was able to overcome this period. I can do my best.

For me, the role of Kurama was the very "origin".

I love you. I still love Kurama as much as ever...Second only to his fans (laughs). I was surprised to see that “he” still lives in me, so much so that when I stood in front of the microphone with the Picture Drama script in my hand, he came down to me easily. I am also deeply grateful for this project, just for the fact that I was able to interact again with everyone who hasn't changed at all (laughs, Yusuke, Hiei and Kuwabara-kun).

Come and take a leap in time along with us. To everyone and to our "those days".

And let’s meet again sometime, somewhere. As Kurama.

Nobuyuki Hiyama ● Hiei

Profile:

- Born on August 25th, Hiroshima Prefecture;

- Affiliated to Arts Vision (Japanese talent agency);

- Representative works are "The Brave Express Might Gaine" (1993) as Maito Senpuuji; "B'TX" (1996) as Teppei Takamiya; "The King of Braves GaoGaiGar" (1997) as Guy Shishiou; "Mobile Suit Gundam/The 08th MS Team" (1996) as Shiro Amada; "Gurren Lagann" (2007) as Viral etc.

Message:

It's a work that made "Nobuyuki Hiyama" a major voice actor. After all, at that time, most of the people got to know me from this "Yu Yu Hakusho". I loved the character "Hiei" and I still like him. I remember how difficult but fun it was to play him, such as his rebellious ways and how he kept his distance from his friends.

It was also quite hard to properly use "humph," "tsk," and "idiot”. When you watch this BD-BOX, please, see that as a point of interest, it’ll make Hiyama happy (laughs).

This time, I played the role of Hiei for the first time in a long time, but it feels like I was able to play him without any difficulties. That's why I realized once again that Hiei is at the forefront of my acting roles.

In the Picture Drama, Hiei was used as a punch line, but even at the time of airing, Hiei was used as a gag character and a character to toy with, in dramas (made by Mr. Chiba) recorded as CD bonuses¹, that is also strangely nostalgic.

Finally, everyone who bought this BOX. Thank you very much.

"Yu Yu Hakusho" is a truly memorable work for me.

At the same time, I think it's a very interesting work to watch now.

Shiori Minamino

Kurama’s mother in the Human World. She has a kind heart that transformed him, a villainous youkai. Her husband had passed away and she fell ill. However, thanks to the power of the “mirror of darkness” stolen by Kurama, she recovered and remarried a man named Hatanaka (right).

I wonder how old Kurama was when his biological father passed away, probably very young. I’d also love to see him working at his stepfather’s company.

Niall posted another collection of photos (“SPRING THINGS”) including his face, golf stuff, studio stuff, and one featuring golf stuff in with the studio stuff, Niall heaven. He also raves about the Bruce Springsteen and Obama discussion podcast-- the fan who baited him with a question about it definitely went for the easy Niall grab there, and sure enough he had lots to say! “Listened to every second of it. It’s one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. The two voices, the eye opening contextualisation of some of the issues in America and effectively the wider world. [mind blown emoji]”

And other spring things are afoot as well- at last a glimpse of My Policeman filming in London! Not of Harry though, just his costar David Dawson and a few other cast members, and rumor has it that production is working hard to keep fans away from set, and in particular preparing to do so during the much anticipated location shoot in Brighton. The sighting of Dawson makes for an exciting day for the weird anons who have been sending messages about him for weeks, claiming to think there’s some conflict between believing Harry and Louis are a couple and being interested in a movie in which Harry plays a character who is with a male person who isn’t Louis (you really… connected those dots huh??) The theory seems to be that we think Harry is dating whatever guy he’s photographed next to most, yet oddly I have the impression that they are targeting exclusively LARRIES, a group who believe Harry is dating a man he’s been photographed next to like one time in SIX YEARS, rather than hazoff or xarry blogs, who actually DO operate on that principle and probably really are about to turn into Harry/ Dawson shippers. Hot tip dumbasses, go yell at solo harries! No no, don’t worry; it IS possible to send anons to yourself on this platform, so there’s nothing standing in your way!

The Planets, Elevated

Sun

As the Most Elevated indicates a drive to express one’s creative essence and core ego values before the world. This individual will shine amongst their circle of peers. This person’s 15 minutes of fame can extend to a lifetime of fame in one area of life or another. The world is a stage they play on. They were put here on earth to display their creative gifts and talents. They tend to be leaders. Tend to be worshipped. Popular. If the elevated planet is conjunct the Midheaven, this is a strong indicator of celebrity. Martin Luther King had his Sun in Capricorn as the Zenith of his chart. Albert Einstein’s Sun was his most elevated as well.

Moon

As the Most Elevated is more inverted than the Sun. Whereas those born with the Sun highest in the chart can feel an urge toward leadership or expressing their egoic and creative impulses in a public way, those with the Moon highest are more often drawn to project their personality or their emotions into the spotlight. Many actors and musicians have this placement. Individuals with the Moon at the Zenith of their chart can become well-known for their nurturing talents. Their emotions. Their moods and the creativity surrounding them. Their temperament and what they create with them/ expressing their emotions to the public can gain them notoriety. As the most elevated Indicates a drive to project energy and strength before the world. Muhammed Ali had Mars as his most elevated planet. Ruthless ambition. Renowned undefeated heavyweight champion in boxing. Martial arts ruled his life and where he received the most notoriety. Definitely a feisty placement as well as one that will make the native hard to ignore. This placement indicates a leader. The types to set shit off. The type to be the “boss” in whatever field of work they choose. Spearhead some sort of militant movement. The ‘Gangster” placement. Very often seen in the charts of those who take part in sports. Jupiter

As the most elevated Indicates there is confidence about matters of career or dealings with the public. As a result, this is one of the leading chart indicators of popularity and success, as well as general “good luck,”. Global awareness, travel, teaching, and philosophical/spiritual matters will be their forte. The “prophet” or “guru” aspect. Someone who’s calling in life may involve lots of travel or they can be a “citizen of the world”. Angelina Jolie has Jupiter at the highest point in her chart and not only was her film career a huge success, but she also became a bit of a 2nd Mother Teresa, traveling internationally to adopt children, and doing humanitarian work worldwide. There is also an interest in different spiritual teachings [i.e the Cambodian prayer tattoo on her left shoulder blade.] This is one of the hardest-hitting horoscopic indicators of popularity and success, as well as general “fortune/luck” in life. Basketball heavyweight Michael Jordan has Jupiter at the Zenith of his chart as does Kim Kardashian. This is also an indicator of one who can become famous or well known for their ideas/thoughts on spirituality. If Jupiter is in Virgo, the native can become renowned for their writings on esoteric or spiritual matters.

Saturn

As the most elevated Like Jupiter, Saturn near the top of one’s chart can show considerable success and prominence in one’s life. But unlike Jupiter, this usually involves far more work and a few tough building blocks along the way. There’s a “late bloomer” quality to the lives of these natives. Many instances, they can experience great struggle in building their career and reputation — that constant ‘between a rock and a hard place”. Yet these people often live to see great rewards and prestige as a result of said hard work. The types to be in inevitable positions of authority in whatever they do but also the types to hold themselves to impossible standards. They must be the best. Uranus

As the most elevated indicates a native who possesses a fiercely independent streak and a desire to pursue uniquely personal or unconventional life paths. The weirdo who becomes famous for being.. well, a weirdo. Needless to say, this generally makes it difficult for these people to adapt to rigid routines and structured environments, and in terms of career, they like to have/need as long a leash as possible. They think outside the box and as a result, can gain prestige for doing just that. The “fuck it I do what I want” aspect. This attitude may make them famous and even admired. Geniuses. You can see this rebel spirit in many of his songs that went platinum. Many Astronauts including Edgar Mitchell have this placement. Those with Uranus as their most elevated see “beyond”. This also indicates the maverick spirit of innovation. This placement is often connected to technology or the media [remember, Uranus has an ‘electric’ energy to it]. A prime example is Apple computer founder Steve Jobs who had Jupiter and Uranus in conjunction as his highest point.

Neptune

As the most elevated indicates a spirit of “reaching for the stars”. I see this planet most elevated in the charts of those renowned for their artistic talents. ESPECIALLY in music and the arts. Many actors have this placement, which is fitting considering Neptune is the planet of dreams/fantasy, and actors are paid to pretend to be someone else. Famous for the mask they wear. Powerful spiritual impulses. An inspiring individual. Can become famous/well known for their idealism or the spiritual messages they send out to the world. When well aspected or unafflicted it can indicate an individual who can become revered for their fantastical ideas. Walt Disney’s most elevated planet was Neptune and I feel many of us can agree that his classic works of fantasy shaped our childhoods. His billion-dollar empire still stands today decades after his death. Elevated Neptunian Bruce Lee not only brought martial arts to the attention of thousands but also expounded on its spiritual philosophy in writings and interviews. He even created Jeet Kune Do, a martial art deeply rooted in spirituality, wrote a book about it, too. 44th President Barack Obama has Neptune as his most elevated planet and his campaign slogan “hope” gave many just that during the 2008 election. An affliction to this most elevated planet can still make one very well known but not necessarily for the best reasons. When afflicted it can be a dangerous placement and one can suffer or make others suffer from fanatical or delusional teachings. Cult leader Jim Jones had Neptune has his most elevated and his spiritual teachings resulted in the death of hundreds of naive and innocent people due to drugged [Neptune] kool-aid.

Pluto

As the most elevated indicates that an individual’s career or sense of “calling” will be involved with any or all 8th house dealings. Sexuality, death, transformation, secrets, the occult. Megan Fox has Pluto at the highest degree in her chart, though she is a Taurus, her MC is in Scorpio and conjunct her Pluto which is the most elevated. She comes off an undeniable Sex [Plutonic/8th house] symbol. Same for the late great musician Prince, who was very public about sexuality. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia has his Pluto closest to his MC and he was a KGB spy. This is definitely a placement of someone with considerable power. Not one to be underestimated. Capable of covert manipulation and may/can become famous for it. They may also become well known for dealing with dark matters. Jack Kerouac, who celebrated the bohemian “underworld” had his Pluto elevated. Mary Shelly, author of Frankenstein became renowned for a book that had to do with a monster made of dead bodies transformed through supernatural means. It is now one of the first books parents will read to their children on Halloween.

As the most elevated indicates an individual feared and admired for their rebellious sexual spirit. The seductress/seducer. The individual can become loved or hated for their ability to put their wily charms on both men and women. Audrey Hepburn had Lilith at the zenith of her chart, quite close to Saturn near the MC.

Juno

As the most elevated planet may become famous for their marriages or whom they are married to.

Vesta

Famous for their devotion or well known for becoming homemakers.

Pallas

As the most elevated can indicate someone known for their wisdom. How they temper their instincts with discretion.
