“what even was that?! you literally missed the entire target, jay” you laughed as you listened in on the occasional bickering coming from riki, jay and jake because of the game they were playing. heeseung scrolled through his phone, laughing at the trio every now and then. sunoo and jungwon sat and conversed amongst themselves while you and sunghoon sat quietly watching whatever the boys were playing in front of you, sneaking small glances over at each other. 

you invited all the boys over for your monthly, little hangout - or at least trying to make it monthly due to their packed schedules. you loved having them over even if that meant doing the same thing over and over again. you just love having them around. they are your best friends after all.

just as you were immersed in watching the game, you were suddenly reminded of the cookie dough you made the previous night that’s currently sitting in your fridge. “oh! i’m gonna go bake some cookies, i’ll be in the kitchen” you told the boys. 

“ooo i want cookies.” you heard sunoo say as you walked to the kitchen, feeling sunghoon’s eyes on you.

after setting everything up, you took out the cookie dough and started to roll it out on the counter. as you began, you suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist. already knowing who it was, you smiled and said, “hey, you.”

“hi, beautiful,” you turned your head over, seeing sunghoon with his head nuzzled against your neck, “what are you up to?”

“i’m baking the cookies i made last night, i literally just told you guys.”

“oh right, i was there.” sunghoon brought his head up to kiss you on the cheek.

“yeah you were,” you laughed, “shouldn’t you be out there with the others?” you asked, changing the subject as you were brought back to reality.

“i mean, i should…but i’d rather be here with you, my girlfriend.” he smiled.

you chuckled and shook your head, “we both know that i’m not your girlfriend, hoon.”

sunghoon moved over slightly so he could be next to you, his arm still wrapped around your waist, “well you're pretty much my girlfriend if you think about it, we very much act like one. which by the way-” he said, trying to meet your eyes only to notice that you're fixated on the dough in front of you, “hey,” he said softly to get your attention - which it did. your eyes meet his, noses almost touching. you slightly flinch, not expecting how close the two of you were “when will you say yes to being my girlfriend?”

you and sunghoon have an…interesting and somewhat complicated relationship. you weren't a couple but yet you also weren't just friends. you're not sure how this came to be but this has been going on for quite awhile - a little too long for your likings. if you were being honest, you’re waiting for sunghoon to make the first move - to which he says he is but he’s really not - because you were scared of doing it yourself.

it’s not like sunghoon hasn’t done anything for the two of you. in fact, he’s done quite a lot. he would buy you gifts, call and text you almost everyday, tell you how much he likes you and how he really wants to be with you. he’d also suggest the idea of being his girlfriend, but that’s about it. 

now, anyone would think that this is perfect as it is and tell you that you’re being unfair. you can’t lie, sunghoon is a great guy. there’s no doubt in that. the only problem however, is that you and sunghoon never go out. you barely spend any one on one time with him. quality time is something you value a lot especially in a relationship so of course you would want to be able to spend some time with him.

as much as it pains you to admit, you needed more from him. a simple “be my girlfriend” won't do the job for you. you needed him to show you that this is all genuine and that he truly wants you.

to make your situation worse, no one seems to know what you have going on with sunghoon. it's not like you were trying to hide it from them, you just have no idea how to even explain this whole thing to them. so you thought the best option was to tell them after you and sunghoon get your shit figured out. 

“when you take me out on a date,” you said, offering him a smile, “then maybe i’ll consider it.”

the two of you shared a moment of silence, just staring at each other. if anyone were in the room, they’d be able feel the tension and intimacy emitting off of you. sunghoon was the first one to break eye contact when he slightly shifted his gaze to your lips for a brief second before looking away and sighed, “i’ll take you out soon, i promise. i’ll make it special for us.”

“yeah?”

“mhm” he hummed, eyes meeting yours again. there it was again. the silence and the longing gazes. it was evident that sunghoon wanted you and only you. you can tell simply by the way he looked at you. the distance between the two of you got smaller and smaller, almost as if a magnet was pulling at the two of you. your noses brush against each other and you feel sunghoon’s breath on your lips. he gives you a small smile then cups your cheek with his free hand. he pauses for a second before softly pressing his lips against yours. you couldn’t help but smile into the kiss. but before you had the chance to kiss him back, sunghoon pulls away. “what? we can’t let them catch us, can we?” he said, backing away from you and moved towards the living room.

something about sunghoon’s words and actions made you feel a slight ache in your heart. there was nothing new with how he treated you. in fact, you were pretty used to it. it was natural for you two to tease each other. however, this time you were more hurt rather than amused. maybe it’s because the yearning you have for sunghoon is only getting stronger. maybe it’s because you’re growing tired of waiting. who knows?

the only thing you could do was nod at him, giving him a fake smile. “come out soon, beautiful” was the last thing he said before leaving you alone with your thoughts.

how much longer must you wait? is it going to be worth it in the end? yes. the answer will always be yes. as painful and frustrating it is, you know what you want. you know what you need and that is sunghoon.

jegulus is like a years-long social experiment i keep expecting someone from harvard university to pop out of nowhere and be like Jegulus was a an engineered mass-hallucination for the purpose of seeing if a harry potter yaoi ship between two characters that have never interacted on account of being dead for years at the start of canon could make it to the top 20 most popular ships on ao3

lmao no but in all honesty jegulus is my favorite… if you couldn’t already tell from. the 100k+ words of fanfiction i’ve written about them. they’re the doomed love affair of All time to me. and like… the doomed aspect is very important and compelling to me. not to plug my own fucking fic but this will always be a core part of my jegulus thesis:

jegulus is also the love story that wasn’t meant to happen yk? i joke about this all the time but also it’s so serious to me. in a canon setting their love story is always woven through the gaps in the Narrative. they love each other despite the story they’re supposed be living out… and they have no choice but to live that story out! regulus has to take the dark mark. he has to die. james has to marry lily and have harry. he has to die. all in all their love changed nothing about their story but it also changed both of Them so fundamentally. just not in ways that are apparent to anyone but themselves

we also cannot ignore sirius….. sirius!!! sirius might be more important to jegulus than james and regulus themselves. he is the inadvertent crux the accidental catalyst. he would never ever dream of james and regulus falling in love he would actively stop it if he could but he CANNOT bc he’s the reason it happened. regulus and james are only aware of each other’s existence because of sirius. they’re bound to each other by the fact that they cannot separate themselves from sirius.

but i don’t think that james wants to save regulus because he saved sirius. i think james is aware of the fact that he Didn’t save sirius. sirius saved himself. and therefore james understands the differences between regulus and sirius and wants to save regulus himself. he wants to be the white knight rescuing the princess from the tower. he wants to give regulus a better life. and regulus wants that more than anything…. but he doesn’t believe in it. he can’t let himself hope that james is telling the truth bc if he is then it means that Sirius was telling the truth and regulus can’t bear that. it’s this endless misunderstanding……

i think a lot of jegulus fans make the point about how “love isn’t enough to save someone” and while i do think this is a correct statement… the only thing that can save regulus is love. there’s nothing else for him there’s nothing he’s been denied in life except love and connection and if he let himself believe he could have those things…. he could walk out!! james COULD save him!!! love CAN be enough

(spellchecking this was a nightmare; I got sent this a while back as a response to a topic I commented on, where I basically agreed there is an oversaturation issue of a specific nature form not friendly people making the community they clam to be supporting look bad in the process. I agree with them but what is your take?)

First off no hate intended but I sometimes forget form past experiences that Mod (s) form a specific blog get bit heated around the shipper issue. (Fujoshi is the proper term for this specific shipper type; but tumblr has issues with that term being used in its proper context. there is actually a darker reason why this became a term its a Idol culture rabbit hole to be saved for later.) As for the topic I genuinely believe that they can't really relate to this topic without proper context. A great deal of this is probably because they defend who they should not and I will do my best to explain this issue without calling anyone out. No hate intended, I like to see the best in people and encourage that to grow more as individuals. The fandom in question is pretty small but the issue is not. There are other fandoms that can relate thou this one is for a game genre. I can't fathom why people defend other users for this horrible behavior towards others just because they ship the only popular guy on guy ship in the fandom.

Lets start by providing context, there are two different types of user here the kind that just mind their business and enjoy their ship, these ones are not the issue, and (lets call them Troublemakers since tumblr hates the term. The term literally means "Filthy Girl" and more importantly I know why it means this but that is somewhat irrelevant here and not the topic.) Basically I really want to understand why no one is calling out their vile behavior because to me its just as bad to not hold them accountable for the bad things they do just because they throw around a trigger or two. I am not saying they can not better themselves, just that not frowning upon their actions does not help them.

Sorry for the long clarification I just wanted to make this clear before getting to the topic because this is about a specific set of individuals, not he group as a whole and I think some people forget that this is a thing with said group. The inconvenient truth is there is a good and bad way to handle it, ignoring the issue and praying it goes away is not a way to handle it.

NOW FOR THE STORY: Because it is a general issue we shall improvise with names, it also makes cleanup easer). In this Game story the ML (Author) and the FL (Gwen) are portrayed as having a deeper bond, the only other character (Lance) also has a deep bond but is a different relationship entirely and you can tell form the interactions hinted at the the deep lore.

During the course of the story Lance becomes cannon fodder for Author's development after he makes a bad deal; yet his tragedy is not a total loss for Lance as lore in this story says Lance IS able to warn Author of a plot form his father that would lead to Author being turned into a literal human puppet.

Here is where the Trublemakers come in, They have been drawing people into the fandom claiming that a offshoot of the story in question that is teased could be centered around Author and Lance as a couple to spite the writers of this series saying if Author were to get with anyone it would be Gwen.

They also mention that is not where they want Authors story to go. Basically developers were saying that the romantic openness is just that an openness to interpret the relationship as romantic and something they only put with Gwen and Author. They also clarify that Authors relationship with Lance before Author has to end him is a "Brothers in Arms" one thou they are very close as friends they are not romantic.

Lances story is meant to be a tragedy as you discover Lance was not in the best of health in the game he even says he "Made a deal with a devil and regrets it" and it is hinted that this deal has taken his freedom form him rendering Lance nothing more than a tool for the Antagonist to use against Author in the end. When Author makes the final blow Lance thanks him for finally freeing him form his terrible fate. This isn't to dog on the ship but in the end the issue is the Trublemakers are ruining the chances of this small fandom to grow by trying push that this is a canon Pairing when its a tragedy that was meant to grow the Protagonists resentment towards his father who is hinted as being the devil in question. Something that is meant to progress to the final confrontation where the protagonist is given a choice to side with his father (become the human puppet) or rebel against him which leads to his fathers tragic end after the epic final battle of this story. This series is NOT sunshine and rainbows it is classified as a Dark Fantasy hence why we using fantasy references. and Cannon fodder like Lance is common in this genre. The concern is that the Trublemakers are creating false expectations for incoming fans about the series; sadly Lance is not likely to come back, thou he was developed as a character who could, as it is made abundantly clear that Lance in the end found his freedom in his passing. The Bad actors are making light of the fact Lance sacrificed himself to Warn Author and is in some since disrespectful to the writers as well who are trying to not falsely advertise the games story or genre. Oh but it gets worse; in the fandoms they are literally intimidating and bothering fans that refuse to shill the ship going after people who just do not post the things and that could be any reason what so ever there. It could even be personal preference we are talking full on attack mode, hiding behind a gray face, trashing people behind their back to people they interact with exc. So enter my dilemma; am I really wrong for thinking this behavior is bad? I do not feel as if its right to consider my stance here flawed or worthy of scorn and hate. My concern is not the ship existing but the bad actors that are in it being coddled when they behave just as vile as the "Unicorns" in the Idol fanbase trying to force real people to bone to appease their single sex couple fetishes. (That is literally why its so bad I did say it was a Rabbit hole, thou the term Hole is a gorse understatement of how deep.)

Am I understanding you that most of this is a c&p of something you received? Okay, then, let's break it down.

Okay, big picture:

It is bad to pressure creators to make your ship canon.

It is bad to pressure other fans to ship your ship or harass them for not posting enough about it.

But as for this little essay, no, of course I don't agree with it: It's so full of red flags it has barely any room for anything but red flags.

'Fujoshi' has a ~darker reason~? What? The history is simple: 2chan bros used a rude but kind of funny pun for women who were "spoiled"—i.e. undatable—because they liked m/m content. Those women found the pun amusing and reclaimed it for themselves. The end.

It's just the 'fu' from 'tofu' and is a pun on a homonym, 婦女子, that refers to a married woman. It's "rotten" like food going bad, not like moral depravity (though I'm sure the 2chan bros do think it's morally depraved for women not to cater to them).

Right off the bat, this is a red flag because it's trying to hint at some dark depths here that just are not present and are not a big deal. It's trying to set up a tone that the author has Special Knowledge and we should just trust them. Sheesh.

And here we dive straight into "I'm just trying to help you" bullshit. This is condescending and creepy.

The description of the canon is convoluted and pointless. Brothers in arms is the main driver of oldschool m/m ships. Yes, of fucking course people are going to ship this.

"Baww, the creators said they didn't mean it that way!" What the actual fuck is this? Who cares what the creators think? Why is this essay fellating the idea of canon compliance?

"The het subtext was intentional!!!" is not an argument that anybody should be making because there is literally no reason fans should care which subtext was intentional when it comes to whether they ship something.

Almost the entire description of the canon could have been cut out to just leave:

HM How do i put this.So people often think 'punk' and 'asshole' are synomyous and this causes problems when it comes to character interpretations(and irl too ofc but that's for a future post).Now i'm not saying you can't be punk and an asshole because that would be absolutely stupid and just incorrect but the latter does not make the former and you shouldn't force anyone to when they're not even if they're fictional since how you treat characters who're part of a group reflects how you think of the irl one

I'm gonna use the example that prompted this post:Spiderpunk aka Hobie Brown.Hobie is often characterized as mean-spirited and perverted because he's explicitly meant as the embodiment of black punks but the thing is,in the actual movie and og comics,Hobs is an incredibly sweet and gentle person and if you think i'm being ridicilous for saying that about the dude who kills fascists and runs his mouth all the time,consider that direct action is not an act of cruelty but kindness towards oppressed people by helping them have a safer world and that Hobie's only actually rude to authority figures and with everyone else he's just goofy.He's also pretty open with how much he loves his friends and always has their backs and i find it very odd how often he gets assumed to be an extremely sexual person when there were never even any under the radar adult jokes about or by him and the smoker headcanon for him is baseless too and pretty obviously only happens for sex appeal

And that's a general problem with both canonical and popularly headcanon punk characters-Most fandom members think punk is 1.Exclusively male and 2.Inherently made to make yourself attractive.There's nothing wrong with finding punk men super hot but there IS a lot wrong is assigning punkhood to them with that intention alone,especially often the characters are not only just EdgyTM but also straight up fascists(Hp and Marauders Flop Era 'kinnies',please touch grass)

This leads to defanging of punk female characters.Katara is a classic example and Zuko is a rich boy with weird biases he's very open about that didn't fade until adulthood while Katara is an eco-terrorist who reclaims girlhood for herself by being anti-traditionalist and feminine in her own way yet Zuko is always the punk of the Gaang in aus.Stephanie Brown and not a girl but Duke Thomas are a poor woman who grew up friendless and abused by her dad and had a drug addict mom so she became a vigilante at 14 to help people like her and is implied to be a metalhead and a black boy who grew up getting kicked out schools and in and out of foster homes and joined a gang of crime fighters respectively but Stephanie is called scene instead(cause pastel punks don't exist right /s)and Duke is turned a meek black boyloser stereotype so that Jason Todd can be the punk Batkid instead,which is certainly......a choice seeing as Under The Red Hood is basically about him doing freestyle death penalty and is not actively an activist even if he does enjoy helping people and does whenever he has the opportunity to by narrative.Very important sidenote is that Stephanie and Duke are often entierly erased from Batman fan content despite being Jason's Batgirl and Robin and i think you can guess why(that obviously the coolest Batkid has to be the fan favorite white boy /s x2)

And i feel the need to include this one due to my url and that is Percy Jackson.Percy is representation for audhd and dyslexic people who can never mask and got bullied and abused for it but remained kind against all world's cruelty and choose to help others since they wanted the world to be like that to them as a kid instead but they ALSO aren't a pussy about it so they openly stand up to corrupted people and refuse to be like them no matter how hard they try to get them to and they openly hate them for what they're like and they act like a parental figure to younger minorities.Their creator stated he never inteded Percy as being bisexual and has no interest in it but he also said he'd be happy and supportive of Percy being played by a poc one day and within the books Percy is extremely transfem-coded so obviously the fandom pops several blood vessels when literally any of this is aknowledged because they read the wrong books and wanted a white male power fantasy in ancient greek gays flavor

So overlord Sera gets a call from Roise who tells her that she has a young woman named Emily who just shown up looking pretty worse for wear who says she's Sera's sister. Sera immediately cancels any plans she has for the day and tells Roise she'll be over as quickly as possible. She arrives to find Emily wrapped in a blanket by Roise asleep on a coach she seems to be covered in dirt and blood but besides that seems fine. Roise asks Sera about her and how she never told anyone had a sister. Sera for once tells Roise everything just letting all the stess and trauma she also went through in her life out. She also tells Roise how heart broken she is that Emily is here because one Emily died in real life and if anyone should have gone to heaven it was Emily and her fear that she had spent her life trying to keep Emily safe but was worried she wouldn't be able to do so in hell. After Sera gets all that off her chest and talks to Rosie she goes over and wakes up Emily. Emily wakes up to Sera looking down at her in some ways Sera is different her body changed from what it was in life but in other ways it's clear to Emily it's Sera the same concerned and loving expression that Emily remembered so much from life and missed so much in heaven is still there. Things may still be difficult but she is confident that now the two are back together that they can overcome anything.

Sera doesn't believe it. She can't believe, because it can't possibly be true. She busts through the entrance to Rosie's emporium, out of breath, because she'd sprinted all the way here. She'd canceled all her meetings for the rest of the day, because she simply could not think straight after Rosie had called her. A part of her is screaming, "It can't be! It's not possible! She wouldn't be here! There must be some mistake!"

"Where?" Sera asks, as soon as she spots the older woman. It's all she can squeak out, as she desperately takes oxygen back into her lungs. Rosie meets her at the entrance and points a finger over to the corner where she entertains her most important guests. There is a small person lying on the couch, wrapped in a fur blanket.

"She showed up outta nowhere looking like death warmed over," Rosie says, repeating some of the information she'd provided to Sera over the phone earlier. "She's been asking everyone in the neighborhood for you. My cannibals almost ate 'er, thinkin' she was an angel. She knows your last name, Sera. Claims she's your sister, Emily."

Emily. A name Sera hasn't heard in what feels like a lifetime, but has only probably been a few short years. A name she'd hoped to never hear again, because it had meant she'd been safe from this place. If this is actually her here, now, then that means...Sera doesn't even want to think about it.

Wasting no time, Sera moves over to the couch. The girl is scrunched up in the fetal position, blanket covering every other part of her body besides her head, but Sera can plainly see...it's her face. Her face and hair are undeniable. They look different -- a light bluish-silver hue, like a cloud or a pearl. But the freckles, those cheekbones, that sleeping face...it is absolutely her little sister, here, back from the dead.

"Oh, Satan," Sera says, taking a step back, hand shooting up to her mouth. Thankfully, the girl has yet to wake up. "It is her."

"What's goin' on, Sera?" Rosie asks, barely above a whisper. "You never told me you had a sister? What's the story here?"

So Sera tells Rosie...everything, more or less. About her upbringing, about her family, and about her killing her parents, which is probably what made her end up in Hell in the first place. And also about how she'd raised Emily, and her untimely death...and how she'd never known what happened to the sister who got left behind.

Rosie listens, and understands. She's probably the only person, let alone the only other overlord, Sera would ever be this honest with. Sera had tried to keep her secrets close to her chest, but now with this development...with her sister here, she's going to need to take advantage of every ally she has. Until she can figure out what's going on and what to do about it.

"That's quite a secret," Rosie says, blowing air exaggeratedly through her lips. "Can't say I blame you for not tellin' me, but this is gonna complicate things, girlie. Do you have anywhere to take her?"

It's at that moment that Emily stirs on the couch, moaning a little as she's coming out of sleep. She rubs all the gunk from her eyes and tries to sit up, but gets tangled up in the blanket. After a few more tries, she's able to lift herself onto her side.

Her clothes are still filthy and stained with blood. She's about to apologize to Rosie for any of the dirt and detritus she probably got on her furniture while she'd been asleep. But Emily doesn't get the chance, because suddenly another person is standing over her, blocking her vision of Rosie completely. Emily panics momentarily, covering her face, and trying to move to the other end of the couch, to get out of the way. Then a familiar voice reaches her ear.

"Emily?"

That voice. The one she'd been searching for, longing for, for so many days now. Emily looks up, seeing a different woman standing there, looking down at her with twin waterfalls of tears pouring down her cheeks.

She looks so much different than Emily remembers. Her dark skin is ashen gray, the color of storm clouds. Her once-dark curls are even darker silver, and two curled, black horns have sprouted from her head. The light-colored eyes she's used to seeing have morphed into a sea of red, with a single slick of gold in the middle of each one. The freckles that mirror her own have become more like stripes on her cheeks, like a big cat's.

Everything about her is different. But even with all the visible changes, behind those eyes, is the same big sister who used to take care of her, feed her, and carry her to bed. She's changed, in every feasible way possible, but with one look at the pained, sorrowful expression on her face, Emily knows immediately that this is her sister.

"Sera?!"

Emily's cry is almost pleading, and without hesitation, Sera takes her in her arms, and embraces her there on the couch. The blood that's still in Emily's robes soaks into Sera's work attire, but she doesn't even care. She holds onto Emily tight, until they meld together, almost a single individual in their shared grief. She can't believe Emily is here in her arms again.

"Emily, what the Hell?...What are you doing here? How did you even find me?"

Emily doesn't answer any of Sera's pertinent questions. She just cries, burying her face in her sister's shirt, and refusing to stop hugging her. She's also making the deliberate choice to keep her wings hidden from her sister. She'll tell her...in time. But not right now. Not while their reunion is still so fresh, and when she could be spending more time embracing her, rather than talking.

Eventually she'll have to tell her what happened. About Heaven, about their parents, about her escape, everything...but right now, she just wants to be held. It's been so long since anyone she loves has held her. The truth can wait. She promises herself, right then and there, that she's not going anywhere ever again.

I’ve always maintained that writing and this blog is a safe space for me, a place to escape from the real world when I need it. but right now, what’s going on in the world isn’t something I can escape from. it’s robbed me of my sleep and my sanity. and honestly, writing and kpop just don’t even seem like valid enough escapes anymore, even though I feel immensely privileged to have these escapes in the first place. I feel numb. but it’s not even about me or this blog or any wips I have.

the beauty of being here is being able to connect with so many people far away, across the country or even across the world. if we can use our energy to celebrate our groups and our faves, we can also do the reverse.

you know, i appreciate the work Susan Sontag has done for people appreciating Camp and stuff but i feel like if you are still using Susan Sontag as the authority on Camp in the year of your lord 2023, using notes that were written in 1964, as if the landscape of art and our relationship to art hasn't fundamentally changed since then,,, it's like, you need to catch up babes, a lot of those points are still really relevant, i'm not saying throw it out, but like update your understandings of Camp beyond that one authoritative text that's at this point almost 60 fucking years old. Susan Sontag is not the fundamental authority on what art today is or would be considered Campy, build off of those basics, please dear gods, evolve your understanding of what Campy art today actually looks like rather than trying to apply a prescriptive label from a text that can kinda boil down to 'Camp is whatever you feel like, and you'll know it when you see it because it won't be like traditional art' because the attempt to define it is so wide, calling every non-traditional piece of art campy is fucking pointless and not how anyone is obviously using the fucking label, people are very deliberately talking about one specific feeling they get from the piece of art, and it's got very little to do with aesthetics, at least as far as TV shows are concerned (movies are a different conversation), and much more about presentation and tone and intended effects and what the whole fucking point of the piece of art actually is, which is a lot more than what is afforded to most things considered Campy, like 90% of the shit people call campy at this point is just called campy and then it's left there, because it's a "oh you can't say anything about it because it's campy" like at this point it almost functions as a conversation ender because anyone you're talking to about any aspect can just go "yeah that's meant to be that way, it's campy" and it's like. okay, where do we go from here? should the piece of art not be analyzed as a work of art? does it not deserve to be evaluated in good faith and treated like any other piece of art? i understand the urge to defend the use of the term, as like "oh we're using it because people are misunderstanding art and what it's trying to be", and as a Riverdale-truther (as in genuinely love it as a piece of art and what it says and does, it's not fucking campy i swear to god, none of you fucking know what pulp art is!), and as a TASM2 truther (best Spidey movie after ITSV, and definitely best general movie after ITSV, and i don't care what your opinion is) i understand the urge to want to defend it as camp, but like, what's the piece of art actually doing and trying to say, what are the deeper layers at play? or are you really just satisfied saying something is Campy and stopping your analysis of the piece of art there? is your soul really okay correcting someone's interpretation of a show and saying it's campy and not doing anything beyond that? what does it being campy actually change? what the fuck does it actually do for the piece of art, if the piece of art is even campy at all?

As can be seen from this, this new self-insert doesn’t stick to any particular nicknaming scheme across all of her Pokémon, unlike Adriana (who gives nicknames based on fitting words, like Soulfire for Chandelure) or Nova (whose nicknames come from sounds in the Pokémon’s name, like Chirithy from Cinccino). In fact, she kind of has a mix of both of those styles across the Pokémon she has.

She originally deliberated whether to bring as many of her Hoenn team as she could to Paldea, but eventually decided to only bring Mari and Aria, mainly for ease of traversing the region with their help (as she didn’t know they had such a good Flying Taxi system until she got there). Later on, she ended up trading Aria for the Glaceon she has since nicknamed Snowball.

I know I still don’t have much established for this self-insert, but I’m still having a lot of fun thinking about her and developing her more, so I hope it’s okay to have made this post!

sorry for sending you an ask about this but i saw your tags on the warrior cats post about neutering and i just wanted to let you know that they actually do take away the cats balls, they leave the sack but the balls are what gets removed. eventually the sack shrinks and like goes away because of the lack of nuts inside. so i guess bluestar did know what she was talking about in the end

plus, gonna reiterate, we should also consider that this series just isn't very well written. in all seriousness, as a writer myself, Warriors is a badly written series that should have ended over a dozen books ago, with authors who make shit up & don't bother to communicate with each other about their new headcanons & characterizations. not shitting on it (i love Warriors) but we should remember that there's like a million orange female cats & calico/tortie male cats, Graystripe's parents are siblings, & nothing actually killed Firestar on his last life, he just dropped dead randomly for the drama.

it's fun to speculate, but also Bluestar was just saying that shit about the cutter cuz of Rusty needing a final push to leave his twolegs. it was entirely for plot reasons & the authors never actually did research to make anything in this series accurate.
