I feel an obligation to say steddie bb but I read steddie + sportsball and I’m weak SO, April Writing for WIP weekend? 🥰
Thank you for the ask 💖
Also not me completely forgetting you are one of the BB mods 🤦‍♂️ *side eyes my BB doc as I continue to ping-pong between a bunch of random wips tonight!
Some more Steddie Sportsball coming up! Here's the first snippet.
Also also: my deepest apologies to you Lex, Patron Saint of Steddie Sportsball Fics as I bumble my way through not writing specifics about Amercian Sports. But hey, at least I can make that Eddie's thing™ right???
Eddie sighs and looks at his watch. This game is only in its… Something innings and the Blue Team aka, Steve’s Team are gonna lose. Sitting here for god knows how much longer feels pointless. Especially considering there is fuck-all else to do in this big dumb house of his boyfriends. And the limited interest Eddie did have in this game is all gone now that the one hot guy on this team aka, Moustache Man, a very tall brown-haired guy with a thick moustache and arms to die for, got run out mere seconds ago… Or something. Whatever it was, he sculked off the diamond pitch, handsome face hung in shame, not be be seen again for the rest of the afternoon.
Help me work on my mountain of wips

I saw your Taylor Swift/the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo post and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's a fictional biography/memoir abt the 1st woman president and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend ala shoeh and has massive Taylor Swift vibes (especially anti hero, last great American dynasty, gold rush, I Did Something Bad, and champagne problems) It also ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters!
okay I have no idea when this was sent to me but I get the feeling it is Not Recent, for which I am sorry but I think it might be fair to point out that I didn't know I even HAD an ask box until recently so also thank you for being my first ask 🙏🙏🙏
i have not heard of burn the house down but it feels very of the zeitgeist rn and I'm going to check it out from my library if I can rn!!! also you listed like half of my favorite songs. amercian dynasty???? gold rush???? champagne problems???? WE ARE SPEAKING THE SAME LANGUAGE MWAH MWAH MWAH. also I've been looking for more books like TJRs famous series and haven't found anything so actually this rec is so insanely appreciated BLESS UP KHRUSCHEVSHOE!!! I think this is a late post of this question but... would it be okay to drop into your dms when I finish it 😭😭? I feel like that's the kind of thing I have to rant about after when I'm done LMAO. one thing about me is I will be reading the gay fictional politics ☝️☝️ thanks for the ask!!!

Art assistance = caregiving
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dont know why but i was thinking alot about care giving
I have. New art asisstance job and this time its more one on one than a big production like Lenny.
And i was thinking about how i am doing more than making the rat. I keep them company, we have meaningful conversationss and i am having real genuine human nnections
I approach everything with gentleness, compassion nd kindness. And I extend that to the artist i work for
I problem solve. I organize, i clean, i create, i make, i create a safe environment where they trust me. I am honest with my work, and i work hard
-
I love making the work, the craftsmanship, skillsets and the act of making art.
I love being a part of the process. I love how my hands is a part of the creation.
I love being a part of something important and creating culture and history.
I think alot about how most Filipinos are nurses. I think its our innate nature of being care giver. We are motherly and hospitable. We care an we give comfort. It’s natural to us and it comes out in everything we do.
Obviously i dont save lives, but i am also a healer and a natural helper.
I think about my mom as. Nanny/caregiver. I think about the women in my life who does this on a daily
We used to have our own nanny in the Philippines but in America she has to become one in order to survive.
I never really had shame thats he had to do that i understood that she had to do what she had to do. Also she never bowed shame in what’s he is doing, ive always seen her proud as to what she is doing. She runs the house. Without her they would not function.
I think about how she sacrificed and abandoned her own children and had to take care of other peoples children in order to have the aMercian dream. We never got out of that loophole. She never came home. I guess as a little girl i was waiting for the day when she would come home an tend to us instead but that never happened. I guess thats the reality of an American dream.
I think about how i m in their place now. I would always joke about how i would just nanny too to get many bc he earns alot. And she would always be like, dont because the reason why i brought u here so that you can have a better future and have a professional job.
And nw i see held doing what she is doing. I dont know why i am so convinced that art assitance is care giving, but it sure feels that way. That kiss hw much i put into othe job. I’m really serious into what i am doing and i really care about the people i work with. I go above and beyond.
I think my approach to the job is never just art making, I also build a relationship with these people and really try to change their lives- maybe through doing the work or through organization etc
I fin it so interesting how i never reallly had this epiphany before till now. But i feel so strongly about it. I feel so connected ot that word.
——
I really are about the job.
I could be doing their things but i am doing this.
It’s hard its not permanent and not stable
Sometimes i jump from me job to another just to make ends meet.
Alto of times i also end up with no jobs because one freelance job ended.
But I continue to pursue this type of work because i think i do well in it and i see how much i can touch peoples lives through it
I work well one on one. I work well alone and also in teams but i work well with thing i am passionate about I have to care about wat i am doing for me to put effort in it.
I take pride in what i do. I am proud that i made it here. I made this for myself. Got myself here by connecting with artists and being determined and offering my help and services.
I’m proud because i give my all and i found my niche. I know this is probably not gonna be forever but i know that this is a meaningful part of my life.
I also listen to th universe there must be a reason why i keep getting these types of jobs.
—-
But yea that’s all.
I’m proud of myself because I am chasing my dream. I am pursuing my passion and I am doing the bet i can it’s what i got.
Not a lot of people can go this route, but i did and i am doing well for myself. The fact that i was able to get so many opportunities on my own is insane. That is something to be proud of.
I’m proud of myself for following my heart and what I think is the best for me. For doing hat makes me happy. And ffor being so hard working and putting my heart into what i do.

'There's plenty of room to raise taxes': This billionaire says the US will need to change Social Security, cut federal health insurance to deal with its worsening debt crisis — are you ready? Hedge fund honcho Paul Tudor Jones is warning Americans of the “big fiscal problem” ahead. Appearing on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” this week, the founder and CIO of Tudor Investments said “there are obvious remedies” for the nation’s $33 trillion debt crisis — but not everyone’s going to like them. Don’t miss Rich young Americans have lost confidence in the stock market — and are betting on these 3 assets instead. Get in now for strong long-term tailwinds ‘A natural way to diversify': Janet Yellen now says Americans should expect a decline in the USD as the world's reserve currency — 3 ways you can prepare Super-rich Americans are snatching up prime real estate abroad as US housing slumps — but here's a sharp way to invest without having to move overseas According to Tudor Jones, many politicians in the U.S. typically only look at one side of the equation — how to cut spending. He believes lawmakers are unwilling to look at the other remedy for the nation’s “big fiscal problem” — to “unequivocally raise taxes.” The country’s tax-to-GDP ratio at the end of 2022 was 18.7%, according to the latest report from CEIC Data — which is significantly lower than the European Union (26.8%) and the United Kingdom (27%). “There’s plenty of room for us to raise taxes,” said Tudor Jones during the interview. But the needed support for any such notion is typically hard to find in Congress. And that may be especially true given that the House is currently in limbo as lawmakers try to install a new Speaker and continue to clash over the current budget — only narrowly avoiding a government shutdown at the start of October. If Tudor Jones is onto something — and program cuts and tax hikes are lurking on the horizon — here are some ways to secure your finances and minimize the financial impact of any policy changes. Figure out your Social Security benefits “We’re going to have to sacrifice,” said Tudor Jones told CNBC. “We’re going to have to cut spending. We’re going to have to deal with entitlements. We’re going to have to change Social Security. We’re going to have to limit Medicare and Medicaid.” Story continues In 2023, almost 67 million Americans will receive a monthly Social Security benefit, totaling about $1.4 trillion in benefits paid during the year, according to the Social Security Administration (SSA). Nearly 90% of Americans aged 65 or older were receiving a Social Security benefit as of June 30, according to SSA data, with the federal payments representing about 30% of their income. But as Tudor Jones and some (mostly Republican) politicians have pointed out, it is a very expensive program to maintain, especially with the life expectancy of 65-year-olds currently sitting over 20 years. Furthermore, those costs could increase as the number of Americans in that age bracket is projected to grow from about 58 million in 2022 to about 75 million by 2035. With that in mind, it can be confusing to find the optimal time to start claiming Social Security. The earliest Amercians can start claiming benefits is 62, but if you delay claiming, you will receive higher monthly payments, with the maximum benefits available to those who claim starting at age 70 or older. While some Americans may not think they’ll live long enough to make the most of the benefits they’ve earned, some also worry that Social Security will run out of money — as suggested by Tudor Jones. Just remember, as things currently stand, waiting to claim Social Security will get you a bigger monthly payout, which will come in handy if you are one the estimated 15% of Americans who rely solely on that benefit for at least 90% of their income during retirement. **Read more:**Jeff Bezos and Oprah Winfrey invest in this asset to keep their wealth safe — you may want to do the same in 2023
Be careful with health care expenses Four federal Health Insurance programs — Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace health insurance subsidies — account for 24% of the federal budget in 2023, or $1.5 trillion, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Half of that huge total, or $828 billion, is going to Medicare, which provides health coverage to around 66 million people who are aged 65 and older or have disabilities. Again, there have been repeated calls by certain politicians to cut funding for Medicare, but President Biden has countered with legislation that extends and strengthens the program. As politicians debate over the cost of health care, there are things you can do to protect your financial security. An emergency fund can help retirees weather financial storms, like extended hospital stays or illnesses where insurance or Medicare doesn't cover the full cost. Finally, if you’re insured under a high-deductible plan, consider opening a health savings account (HSA) to help you cover out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision costs. With an HSA, you must deposit pre-tax money from your paycheck, which you can then withdraw tax free for eligible expenses. Invest your money wisely Last but not least, with federal funding for social programs under scrutiny, it is critically important to save and invest your money wisely during your working life so that your finances are retirement ready. Tax-advantaged investment accounts like a 401(k) or an individual retirement account (IRA) are great tools to help you get ahead. A 401(k), for example, allows you to steer a portion of your pay into an account where you can invest and grow your money — and get a tax break. If you’re still working, make sure you take advantage of any contribution matching available from your employer, which is about as close as it gets to free money. You don’t have to be an investing mastermind to build a solid nest egg for retirement. You can start small by investing your spare change, or you can put your money to work over time through any number of investing apps or crowdfunding platforms. Remember that diversifying your investment portfolio (and ultimately, your retirement income) with traditional stocks and bonds or alternative assets like real estate will also help you to set yourself up for success in retirement — regardless of any future entitlement reforms or cuts to social programs.
