The great tragedy of Ring of Solomon is not Solomon's life force being slowly drained by the ring, or Khaba and Ammet's horribly unhealthy but still sad to watch relationship, or even seeing how good Bartimaeus and Faquarl's chemistry together when they actually try to get along and knowing their relationship just gets worse over the next 3000 years.

No: it's the fact that Ammet actually says the words "I helped him with his experiments in his private chambers" to Bartimaeus's face and Bartimaeus is too terrified / shocked / disgusted to make a single dirty joke about it. Not so much as a raised eyebrow.

Which is probably for the best for Bartimaeus because any "Is that a euphemism for something?" comments would probably have backfired horribly by causing Ammet to overshare even more than he was already doing.

Re: the ship name for RoS's gruesome twosome (derogatory) (affectionate) I haven't seen anyone use one in ages. I suppose khammet could work, but I've been using otp: I like you hungry since 2016 because I can't be arsed to go through my tag to change it.

I also refer to them as K/A (though this can be confused with Kitty/Asmira* which btw is a neat concept. Throw down with the government while holding hands with your gf), the Bastards, and reasons 1 and 2 why I cannot have nice things.

(*BTW one day I'll gather enough spell slots to write out all the similarities between Nat and Shadowfucker McGee up to and including getting into politics at a young age, summoning something you shouldn't have and absolutely not getting attached to it in some way, and having a teenage girl want to beat the shit out of you.)
