"ive never felt like this about anyone before!" with terasaka and nagisa?? (or just karmagisa if ur uncomfy with that! :>)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Nagisa Shiota/Ryoma Terasaka
Genre: Romance, Fluff
Word Count: 1,588
A/N: Aww this is a cute pairing! I decided to go the classic route of confessing with chocolates UwU. Also ft. BFF/wingwoman Kayano!! I really like the honest simplicity of Nagisa and Terasaka’s relationship, and I hope I conveyed that well.
Tumblr media
Before joining 3-E, Nagisa never really thought of himself as unpredictable. He’d always been a simple guy, with not many quirks. Maybe a bit of a wallflower, even. He liked observing others and the nuances of human nature. He liked seeing how other people could be surprising.
But then 3-E happened, and he kept receiving constant praises of his “natural talents.” How stealthy he was, how he took down Takaoka, how he kept on shocking his classmates and teachers with his capriciousness, etc.
Nagisa couldn’t help but enjoy the attention, although he tried his best to hide it. But truth be told, he still saw himself as a simple person. And a part of him preferred it that way, seeking out some normalcy in the midst of his transformed life.
And now, as he stood in his kitchen, eyes wide at the countertop covered with a dozen different ingredients, he was wishing he’d been more unique after all.
Chocolates on Valentine’s Day? How unoriginal, he sighed internally.
Nagisa reached for his plain navy apron and looped it over his head, the fabric tickling his nose. He tied the straps behind him and took a deep breath, eyeing the gourmet bar of 80% cacao he’d purchased.
Before he could linger on his doubts and call off the entire thing, his best friend (and baking partner) returned from the bathroom. Kayano bounded into the kitchen with a grin on her face. “Sorry for making you wait, Nagisa. I just had to take care of a small hair emergency!”
“No, no, it’s fine,” Nagisa quickly reassured her with a smile. He glanced at her dark messy bun, fondly recalling the old quirky jade pigtails he’d grown used to for an entire year. “Thanks again for helping me out, Kayano.”
“Of course!” she replied, skillfully tying on her own butterscotch apron. “What are friends for, if not helping you make chocolates because you’re a hopeless mess in the kitchen?”
Nagisa laughed and stepped back to give her room as she started examining the ingredients. “Yeah, I would’ve destroyed my kitchen. Cooking is one thing, but I’m not good at baking...and I’ve never made chocolates before.”
“That’s fine. They’re pretty easy to make, once you get past the beginning,” Kayano assured him with a smile.
They fell into comfortable conversation as they worked through the recipe. Nagisa’s clumsy hands nearly made a few mistakes, but Kayano was quick to assist him. Eventually, they stood by and waited for the chocolate to melt over the stove, with Nagisa continuously stirring it.
“I really appreciate you helping me. Seriously, that’s so nice of you. Let me know if there’s anything I can help you with.”
He paused then quickly fixed his words, stammering. “I-I mean, you can ask for anything at any time, of course! I just meant to return the favor, you know?”
Kayano laughed. “Relax, Nagisa. This is nothing compared to what an awesome friend you’ve been for me. You don’t owe me anything.”
He frowned slightly. “But…”
She hummed in thought. “I guess I am pretty curious to know who you’re giving them to, though? But only if you’re comfortable sharing!”
There was a brief silence, only the stirring of the liquid chocolate filling the air between them.
“Nagisa…?”
“Terasaka-kun.”
“Huh?”
He sighed with a smile. “I’m making these for Terasaka-kun.”
“Really?” Her eyes widened. “Aww!”
Nagisa winced at her high-pitched squeal then smiled at her acceptance. “You’re not surprised?”
“Not really,” she admitted. “You guys have always had a very sweet and trusting relationship.”
Nagisa felt his face heat up. “You think so?” he asked quietly, returning his gaze back to the pot.
“Yes, I do,” she smiled. “They say the best relationships always do come after one of you nearly blows the other up, anyways~”
He groaned as she laughed.
Another stretch of comfortable silence passed and soon, they were onto decorating the chocolates. Nagisa watched in awe as she delicately laced the top of the rich chocolates with a caramel icing.
Finally, it was his turn. He carefully made a tiny flower design with the hazelnut icing tube. “You know…” he began.
“I’ve never done anything like this before,” he admitted quietly. “Making chocolates...confessing...I never acted on my feelings or was proactive.” Nagisa’s eyes were trained on what he was doing, but he could feel Kayano’s gaze on him.
“But...the way I feel about Terasaka-kun. With him. Around him…” A small smile etched onto his face. “It’s such an intense, engulfing feeling. But at the same time, it makes me feel lighter than air.”
“I’ve never felt like this about anyone before.”
Tumblr media
The next day was Valentine’s Day, and Nagisa swore, he never heard his own heart beat so rapidly before in his whole life.
He had texted Terasaka that morning to meet up somewhere, under the context of borrowing a book. The five minutes in which he’d awaited a response were the most agonizing he’d ever felt. Was he being too obvious? Terasaka responded positively though, with a short “yeah ofc. see u later.” Nagisa had fallen out of his bed in relief.
Now he was standing outside the local library, clutching onto his schoolbag. He was still in his uniform, and he bet Terasaka would be as well since school hours had just ended.
Valentine’s Day had been uneventful for the most part. He’d gotten friendship chocolates from most of the girls in his class, a completely platonic gesture. Nagisa made a mental note of who he would give gifts to on White Day, to return such a kind gesture. Outside of that, he’d just watched in amusement at some of the antics going on around him. Chocolates being given by the hundreds to popular boys, confessions going wildly wrong and descending into chaos, fangirls, all the like.
“Yo!” His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a familiar voice. Nagisa jolted up at the sight of Terasaka making his way towards him. The object of his affection was uniform-clad in a rather neat manner, with his school bag slung over his shoulder, wearing a fond grin once his eyes locked with Nagisa’s.
Nagisa felt his stomach tighten, as if a bunch of knots were tied inside. This is it… “Hey,” he greeted with a smile, waving to the taller boy. “It’s good to see you.”
“You too,” Terasaka replied warmly, slowing to a stop a couple feet in front of him. “How’s this crappy holiday been for ya?”
“Heh, pretty boring,” Nagisa chuckled. “Like always, I just get friendship chocolates from the girls in my class.”
“Really? That’s still cool.”
Nagisa hummed. “What about you?” He asked, instantly dreading the answer.
Terasaka laughed lightly. “I got some from the squad as a joke, and I’m completely fine with that.”
“Oh, haha.” Nagisa felt a weight lift off his chest at the response, and his grip tightened on his bag.
Terasaka frowned slightly at him. “You okay? You’re acting a little weird.”
Now? Nagisa questioned himself. Now feels right…
Finally making his resolve, Nagisa chose not to answer verbally. Instead, he quickly opened his bag and pulled out the decorated box. He opted to go simple, rather than the ornate boxes he’d seen people give. It was a small square shape in a deep crimson color, topped by a golden bow.
“Terasaka-kun…” Nagisa let out a sharp breath he was unaware he’d been holding. He lifted his gaze to meet Terasaka’s, and offered him a genuine smile.
“I really like you. And I made you these chocolates.” He extended his hand holding the box. “Will you go out with me?”
A tiny part of Nagisa’s mind, within his conscious, was blown away at his actions. He was seriously confessing to his crush. With homemade chocolates. Is this for real?
But Nagisa was nothing if not honest. And that extended to even himself.
A second had passed and Terasaka gently took the chocolates from him, a warm look in his eyes that made Nagisa melt just a little. His lips were curved into a rare smile of faded surprise and contentment.
Finally he spoke, his voice like honey, full of affection. “Of course I’ll go out with you, stupid. I like you too.”
Nagisa’s chest swelled with joy. He smiled stronger than he ever had before, a rush of emotion passing through him.
Terasaka’s attention had shifted to the box in his large hands, and he tugged the bow off. “You made these yourself?” He sounded curious.
“Yes...but with a lot of help from Kayano,” Nagisa admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of his short hair.
Terasaka laughed as he opened it, picking up the one that Nagisa had decorated with a flower. “They look awesome.” He plucked it into his mouth and chewed thoughtfully. His eyes soon lit up. “Woah, they taste great too!”
“Really?!” Nagisa asked excitedly, feeling a bit of pride.
“For sure.” Terasaka nodded with a grin that soon turned shy. He averted his gaze slightly, his face pink. “Thanks for making these for me…”
“I’m glad you like them,” Nagisa said somewhat absentmindedly, his attention focused on how cute Terasaka’s shy smile was.
His thoughts were interrupted by Terasaka suddenly leaning in closer. “Wait uh…” His crush’s face reddened even more. “...Can I kiss you?”
Nagisa felt his own face flush as he nodded.
The kiss was simple and sweet, yet filled with strong genuine emotions. It was almost like a representative of their bond.
And Nagisa wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can I please get a drv3 boys monster au w a human s/o? I'm sorry if this is vague and you can choose the monster each boy is!!
Heyo, Anon! I had a lot of fun with these since I love writing about monsters. However, I ended up making these way too long so I’ll post this in two parts. I hope that you’ll enjoy it even if I got a bit overzealous.
Tumblr media
Part 1
(Part 2 here)
Rantaro (Vampire)
As vampires typically are masters or seduction it isn’t much of a surprise that you met Rantaro through him bringing you home one night.
It was surprising at the time though, when he thought you were asleep and was looming over you with his fangs visible.
Thankfully, Rantaro is still pretty civil as a vampire so he struck a deal with you when you were about to scream.
Basically, he’d do whatever you want as long as you’d allow him to drink from you.
You could have anything, he had riches as well as a body that you could use however you wanted to.
However, instead, you refused. You agreed to let him drink from you but only in exchange for him targeting no one else.
He allowed for you to move in with him even and you began your symbiotic relationship. One that would change into a romantic one as you grew to get to know this vampire.
He was surprisingly kind and gentle for a monster even when he’d drink from you.
He’d care for you since you’d still be kind to a monster like him and would end up confessing to you after instigating a candlelit late-night dinner.
“I love you S/o, stay with me forever.”
Ryoma (Nekomata)
You had been on a late-night stroll in the mountains when you came upon a strange makeshift tennis court.
Despite it being strange you didn’t think much of it until a deep voice rang out from somewhere in the mountains.
“You know you’re not supposed to be up here, right? No one comes to the mountains. It’s dangerous up here.”
Why was there some disembodied voice here? As you’d struggle to respond you’d hear that same voice ring out closer this time, as though it was below you.
“You do know the legends right? There are monsters in these parts.”
Ok. Time to get out of here! You’d start to run across the makeshift tennis court, ignoring the voice when you’d trip over something.
Is that a dead body!? Before you can scream you catch sight of a two-tailed cat slowly ambling towards you, the same deep voice coming out of it as it says menacingly.
“You shouldn’t have come here.”
As scared as you were that’s when an idea hit you. You’d propose a deal. A match of tennis actually! You were on a tennis court after all so he must like games.
“Wait wait wait! You like tennis right? Well then let’s play a match…you can play right?”
As you looked down again that same cat transformed into a small man with cat ears and a tail. The rumors of a nekomata were true!
However, he seemed intrigued by your proposition, ignoring your shock as he asked for the terms of this “game”.
“If I win, you let me go and if you win you can….you can kill me or whatever it is you do.”
“Deal.” He agrees rather quickly to the match, throwing you a racket from who knows whereas he’d give you a small amused glance.
Whether you were ready for it or not he’d play at his full capability, not even allowing you to get a single point.
You were done for you’d think when he’d only smile at you. You never gave up that whole match, he was impressed so he had no choice but to change his terms.
“You lost, but you never lost your spirit. Even if you have a long ways to go in tennis, I do with spirit. I won’t kill you. I’ll stick with you.”
What? As much as you were happy to not be dead you were confused. He was going to come live with you? But as he said he did exactly that, walking alongside you on your trek back home as a cat.
Now you were stuck with a rather affectionate, albeit weird looking house cat that can turn into a man. Did he like you or something?
You can’t complain since you got to live but Ryoma will definitely show his love in some unique ways.
Korekiyo (Naga)
To say that you’d expect to be caught in a trap like a wild animal when you went into the forest would be unthinkable.
But here you were, now hanging from a tree in a large net that albeit was trapping you was also quite spacious.
What kind of animal was this person even trying to catch you’d wonder to yourself as day was beginning to turn to night.
You’d sit there for hours until it was the dead of night. That’s when you’d begin to be lowered into something’s grasp.
It was too dark to see but once you were brought back to some sort of cave still in your bounds you’d panic.
“Do not scream or else.” A voice gently but firmly orders.
You immediately quiet yourself, fearful of dying when you’d be pulled out of the net and bound to the cave walls.
You didn’t dare to speak or move out of fear of what the voice would do.
As you lay there you’d hear some shuffling when the figure would suddenly light a torch within the cave revealing itself to be a naga.
He was going to eat you. This was it you thought when he instead began to embrace you.
“Ahhh such beauty.”
Beauty? What was he?
“I was planning on killing you but I couldn’t bring myself to do that to someone so breathtaking. I’ll just keep you here, alright?”
Unlike with the others, Kiyo is immediately enamored. You looked so similar to his sister before the hunters got to her and left him here alone.
The way that you squirmed it all reminded him of her and it drove him mad.
He’d treat you well even for being in a life of captivity. He was rather affectionate even if he could be a bit sadistic at times.
You could tell he was lonely. From what you heard from him his own sister had died leaving him all alone but that really didn’t make the whole kidnapping thing all right.
You’d have to agree to stay with him for him to let you free and even then he’s stuck to you like glue.
He’d need a lot of help with healing after losing the only person he had left but after he’d be as loving as even Rantaro.
You saved him, and he was never going to leave your side.
Gonta (Frankenstein’s Monster)
You lived near a lake, so you were used to seeing some animals come near it to drink or to lay by but you were quite shocked when you looked out the window to see what looked like a human body hunched over it.
Worriedly you’d stepped out of your home when you’d notice the giant human figure jump at its own reflection cast in the lake.
“Are you ok?” You try to ask gently enough as to not scare it when you notice it jump again, this time to cover its face from you with its hands.
“No, don’t look. Gonta is so ugly you’ll scream!”
He’s so ugly…you’d scream? What did he mean by that?
“I won’t scream, I promise so don’t worry. I just wanted to make sure you’re alright.”
“You won’t scream?” He asks innocently like a child.
“I won’t scream.” You promise, giving him some time to think.
At first, it seems like he’s just gone quiet but then you notice him moving his hands away from his face.
When you catch sight of it you can’t help but gasp.
He wasn’t ugly at all. However, as soon as you let that sound escape he does flinch.
“No no no! I wasn’t being scared just now it’s just….you’re really pretty.”
“Gonta is pretty?” He looks at you with wide eyes with a small bashful smile. “No one ever calls Gonta pretty.”
Well, I think you are.” You add. He definitely was a freak of nature but he wasn’t as terrible as he thought. He should know that.
“Oh thank you!” He picks you up into a bear hug in his massive arms, swinging you around as he declares that he should stay with you now.
“Gonta love you! You only one that show kindness to Gonta, so Gonta never leave you!”
Wait, isn’t he like seven feet though? Also doesn’t he have a home to go back to?
When you’d try to ask you definitely wouldn’t expect for him to tell you that some people set fire to his house because of how he looked.
This poor baby. You couldn’t leave him out here so you had no choice but to kidnap someone’s science experiment.
At least he’ll be shown some love for once though.

Day 18 since the beginning of the game.
6:30 AM.
Shuichi woke up to the sound of his alarm. He had put it on so he would be ready by 7:00 AM- the time everyone chose to reunite and finally go through the tunnels.
With newfound energy, he made his daily routine.
He had packed a few things he wanted to take with him in bags they had found at the warehouse.
Tsumugi and Kiyo's notebooks, some of the items the others gave to him as a souvenir, but he preferred not to pack too much stuff as he would have to take both Ryoma's weapons and a part of the foods and drinks for outside.
Once ready, he pushed the door of his room. Kirumi and Miu were already there. There were a few packages at their feet.
"Good morning, Shuichi! Ready to go?" the street artist called.
"Good morning!" he approached them. "What are those for?" he asked, pointing the objects.
Kirumi handed him one. "Those are the food packs with a bottle of water. Make sure to take one."
He opened his bag and did as told.
Shuichi had just noticed that Miu didn't put on her leather jacket, and Kirumi had put her whole uniform back on.
"Oh... Did you two decide to switch back to the usual uniform?"
Miu shrugged. "I kept the jacket in my bag. If we go through the tunnels that ain't going to be the most practical thing to wear."
"As for me, this is a similar situation. Besides, I asked Rantaro to reinforce the bandages, and this is also in case we have to brave the cold outside."
It's true that they had no idea what was waiting for them. Sure, if nature managed to grow trees inside the academy, then outside shouldn't be that bad.
But if they were in the middle of nowhere and had to walk days to find even one person alive, then surely they would need enough clothing.
However...
He kept thinking back at what they learned from the flashback lights. The meteorites. The ultimate hunt. The funerals. The people claiming mankind deserved damnation.
The academy is the only place they know is safe from potential dangers. But considering the current situation, to get out was better than to kill each other for a time limit.
For now, they had to focus on their main objective.
To get out of here.
The others were ready, but...
"Where are Rantaro and Ryoma?"
The two soldiers hadn't shown up yet.
Kirumi had her monopad out. "They are both in Ryoma's lab. I'm supposing they're doing the final touches to the equipment."
The monopads...
"Shouldn't we leave the monopads here? Monokuma can track us if we keep them..." Kokichi noted.
Good point.
"The rules say the monopads mustn't be damaged. They don't say anything about being left here." Kirumi explained.
What was the point of following the rules anymore? Were they even going to be chased by the exisals?
Only Monodam and Monokuma could control them, but if they were outside the academy, could they really do something to them?
Perhaps with Ryoma's weapons, they could work things out.
Shuichi found strange the fact that Monokuma didn't try to stop them, though.
Maybe it was because they hadn't broken a rule yet. But they would break the first rule once they step outside the academy.
... He really hoped Ryoma was indeed living up to his talent.
They took care of the last details and before they knew it, Rantaro opened the door, everyone suddenly turning to him.
He looked even more tired than yesterday, somehow. Had he even slept?
"... The weapons are waiting in Ryoma's lab. We can't bring them all at once here."
The group went to the fifth floor. Shuichi had this uncomfortable feeling in his chest, like he knew things would go wrong, but he repressed it. This was their only chance, and they had no choice but to do it.
Ryoma was waiting in front of the lab. There were several machines that looked like guns, and two heavy weapons behind.
"Is everyone here?" he asked.
"Yup. No one's missing."
"Good." he took the smaller guns and gave one to each. They were black and dark blue with a symbol resembling the one on Ryoma's beanie on them. They were lighter than Shuichi expected. "Let me explain how these guns work."
"They aren't normal guns. I guess you could call them hacking guns. You put the ammo in, you aim for a machine and it's done for. That's what we're going to use for the traps."
He distributed several sets of tiny blue bullets.
"Let me give you a demonstration."
He took his gun, opened a small chamber on the side, inserted a bullet, and closed it. He aimed at one of the Monokuma statues near the stairs that were usually moving somehow and pulled the trigger.
The wings of the bear replica started vibrating, then completely froze. The statue wobbled and fell onto the floor with a loud crash.
"Woah..."
He put the gun back in his bag. "I'll give you enough ammo for you guys to be safe, but don't use them too much. We have limited resources."
Ryoma gave them about ten bullets each. "Each bullet gives you 50 shots. There's an indicator on the gun showing how many are left. You can only insert one bullet at a time."
"As for the heavy weapons, they will be for Rantaro and I, so you don't have to worry about them."
The mercenary raised an eyebrow. "What are these for?"
He took one of them and put the strap around him. "Heavier weapons for heavier targets. You should know what I mean."
... The exisals.
Those weapons looked dangerous. Surely they would be enough to resist Monokuma's mechas. Especially if there were only two of them.
Rantaro took the second one without a complaint.
These looked really heavy though. Was their training enough to help them carry such bulky weaponry?
It looked like it, and that was a terrifying thought.
Kaito looked at Ryoma. "You managed to do all of these in one night?"
He shrugged. "That's kind of my talent. Besides, I only had to do the hacking guns from scratch. The heavy weaponry had already built-in pieces in the boxes."
Did he even sleep? That still must have taken a huge amount of time.
"Is everyone ready?" Rantaro asked, putting his backpack on.
The violinist observed his gun for a moment.
"... Yes."
They all made their way to the death road of despair.
It was tough for the two soldiers to fit their giant weaponry into the manhole, but that was not a huge problem in the end.
"This is it..." Miu muttered. "We're leaving."
"No regrets. The others wanted this for us. We cannot fail." Rantaro took a step forward, facing the tunnel. "We got an opportunity to escape and we cannot afford to miss it."
He turned to them. "I understand the doubt, but if we all want to survive, that's what we have to do."
"So no going back. Got it?"
Shuichi nodded.
He still had doubts about everything. About the outside world. About Monokuma. And...
Was there really a traitor among them? If so, they hadn't even tried to stop them- they let them do whatever they wanted.
Surely, they would have a way to stop them, right?
Unless...
Would it put their identity in danger? If they even tried to suggest this was a bad idea, they would be suspicious in the eyes of everyone.
... Or it was because they knew they couldn't escape?
So many questions ran through his head, but for now, he had to follow Rantaro and the rest of them.
They entered the tunnels, Shuichi firmly gripping his hacking gun. He checked the indicator. 50 shots left to use wisely.
He was ready.
He could hear their footsteps echoing through the dark tunnels as they walked in silence.
Shuichi heard a strange noise from behind him, and not even a second later, Kirumi turned around and shot the origin of it.
The bomb that was flying towards them fell to the ground, surprisingly not exploding.
"These guns work wonders!" Kaito exclaimed.
"Kirumi, I thought you didn't use guns for your missions... I didn't think you would have such a precise aim." Shuichi turned to the mercenary.
"Because I don't use them doesn't mean I don't know how to. They simply are not my first choice of weapons."
"Please try not to rely on one person too much, we're going to waste time unnecessarily if we have to give ammo to her over and over again." Ryoma advised.
"Got it!"
The walk through the tunnels was surprisingly easy thanks to their new weapons. Whenever a trap activated, they shot a bullet at it and it was done for. It almost felt like a video game.
Sometimes several of them had to shoot at once because of the number of traps, but what was an impossible challenge for them two weeks ago was now more than doable.
It felt good to have a sense of control. To be superior to the robotic bear forcing them to do all this.
... Could they even use the hacking guns on Monokuma? Of course, that would be against the rules but... Once outside and thus breaking one of the rules, they could deactivate him, right?
Or even if the plan doesn't work for some reason, they could still try to defeat Monokuma and end the game.
Even if the supposed mastermind made more copies of him, they still had plenty of ammo and weaponry to deal with an army of them.
But for now, he had to focus on what was ahead.
Some of the traps, unfortunately, couldn't be deactivated, so sometimes they still had to run as fast as they could.
None of them ended up getting injured though.
After what felt like an eternity of running and trap deactivation, they stopped in their tracks. He looked up to see...
... The door. The end of the tunnel, right in front of them.
"We... We made it..."
"Is that the exit?" Miu approached the thing.
"There's a shutter, though..." Kokichi noted.
Perhaps they could disable it with the guns.
Shuichi couldn't help but smile. "We did it... We can finally get out..."
"Are we sure this is the outside world, though?" Kaito asked.
Ryoma approached the panel in front of the door. "I doubt it would be a dead end. As strange as this academy is, there has to be a way out, somehow."
But... He could still feel the unsettling feeling he had prior to the trip here.
Why wasn't Monokuma here trying to stop them? Was it because they had weapons?
Was it because he had changed his strategy?
"Let's finish this."
Ryoma took out his gun and...
*Bang!*
He shot the control panel.
The electric shutter turned off, and the light turned green.
Lock disabled.
"It's... over?" Miu's eyes widened.
"Then let's go!" Kaito exclaimed.
"Hold on, we still have to be careful. We do not know what's outside." Kirumi took out her gun, changing the bullet inside it.
Rantaro and Ryoma put their own aside to take the heavy weaponry they had carried all the way here.
They were ready.
They pushed the door.
But the moment they thought they would feel the fresh breeze of the outside...
They saw it.
A city in ruins, a red sky looming over them, and not a single trace of humanity beyond that door. It was the apocalypse.
A scene full of despair.
With the harsh wind blowing on them, Shuichi suddenly felt unable to breathe, like everyone else.
He saw some of them falling to the ground, and it wasn't long before he himself fainted.
The last thing he saw before drifting into unconsciousness was Kirumi heading towards the panel with difficulty.
Trying to... close the...
... door...
...
--
...
After an unknown amount of time, he woke up.
Shuichi slowly opened his eyes. Everything was blurry around him.
He sat up, trying to make out the scene before him.
The door was closed, and everyone was on the ground, slowly waking up as well.
"What... What is this?"
He tried to stand up, taking deep breaths.
"What the hell was that??" Kaito yelled.
"Why is everything in ruin?? What the hell happened?" Miu exclaimed, hands on her head.
"That was definitely the outside world, but... How did it end up like this?" Ryoma stared at the door.
Kirumi slowly sat up from the control panel.
"We didn't get to see much but I think that was enough to say the outside world isn't a solution anymore."
"B-B-But how d-did this happen?? W-What... What happened?" Kokichi couldn't even form a sentence.
Shuichi tried to apprehend what he just saw. "The outside world... Is in ruins...?"
"Then... If the outside world is in ruin..." Miu muttered. She suddenly put both of her hands on her mouth. "Kaz-"
The violinist's eyes widened. If everything was in ruin then... Where were their loved ones?
Were they-
"No... Nonononononono-"
"Then..." Ryoma looked at the door with concern. "Was this game of 'kill to get outside' a lie?"
They all wanted to leave but this... This was the outside world?
Was everyone dead? Were they the only people alive? Was the entire outside world like this?
"So! You finally learned your lesson?"
A robotic voice called. Monokuma appeared in front of the door.
"This is the outside world you all have been trying to achieve! Isn't it splendid?"
...
He couldn't believe this.
"If you thought I would let any of you leave, then that's wrong! I didn't stop you *because* I knew you couldn't leave! Did any of you think your lovely headmaster wouldn't be more careful?"
...
No one was able to mutter a single word. Everyone was dead. The outside world was no more. They were fighting for a world that didn't exist anymore.
"This is where I shall give you the second motive!"
...
He wasn't even listening anymore.
"Although... Now isn't exactly a good time, is it?"
...
Huh?
"It would be better if every one of you was awake for the motive announcement!"
Everyone... Awake?
"Rantaro...?"
He heard Ryoma's voice from behind.
Rantaro was still unconscious on the floor.
"Rantaro!!"
The weapons maker put a knee down next to him. He placed a hand on his chest and let out a sigh of relief.
"... He's breathing. Only unconscious."
But... Why...? Why was he the only one still unconscious?
Miu ran up to him as well. "What should we do? What happened to him? Why isn't he awake?"
"I don't know, Miu. I don't know."
"Wake up! Please!" she cried. "Please..."
But her tears couldn't bring miracles.
The medic was sleeping. And nothing on his face indicated a peaceful sleep. He looked terrified, like the rest of them right now.
The others approached him as well, ignoring the bear.
"Hey! Pay attention to your headmaster!"
...
No one did.
"Give him some space. He needs to breathe."
"How are we even going to get back to the academy? Do we wait for him to wake up?"
"No! He needs more than just resting! He needs to be taken care of!"
"What, you can carry him?"
"W-We also have his stuff to carry..."
Kirumi put a knee on the floor. "... I'll carry him. Someone will need to transport my equipment and Rantaro's, but I can try to carry him."
"Really? You have the strength?"
"I don't see anyone else volunteering. I can give it a try. He doesn't look too heavy."
"HEY!"
The bear yelled from behind.
"I said, I have the motive to show you guys!"
"Shut your fucking mouth! No one needs you to-
*Bang!*
Before Shuichi could think, a gunshot was heard.
But it missed its target.
And the one who tried to shoot...
... Was none other than Ryoma, who had just stood up, gun in hand.
He glared at the bear with frightening blue eyes. The glare similar to Rantaro's.
"... None of you learn their lessons. It is quite sad."
"Shut it. If you think you're going to get away with this entire game of yours, you are sorely mistaken."
He wrapped his finger around the trigger.
"I missed on purpose just now as a warning. Leave us alone or I'll make sure to use each and every one of your pieces as I please."
"So now, do yourself a favor and get out of here."
There was a long silence.
"... If you think a single toy will make me comply, then you did not learn a single thing from this game. I feel sorry for you."
"The rules are quite clear. Any violence against the headmaster is prohibited."
Ryoma didn't move.
"Oh well, since one of you is still out, I can't exactly give you the second motive, so for now... Buh-bye!~"
Finally, Monokuma left.
And silence settled in the room once more.
Ryoma lowered the gun and put it back into his bag.
"... We're going to have to think of a new strategy. But for now it's useless to stay here any longer."
Shuichi tried to push his worries away. "W-What do you suggest?"
The weapons maker pondered for a moment.
"There's nothing left to see here. So we can go back to the academy. That's our priority for now."
"Kirumi, you'll carry Rantaro since he doesn't look like he'll wake up anytime soon. Kaito, I'm going to ask you to take his weapon since you're probably the second strongest here-
"I'll do it."
They turned to Miu. "... I'll take the gun. I'm a bit stronger than I look, you know?"
Her voice was low, almost shaking. She must still be in shock.
Shuichi remembered the day Kokichi and her were locked up in the lab. When she carried him back to the dorms.
Perhaps she was indeed the stronger of the two.
"... Alright. I know better than to underestimate people by their physical appearance."
"I'll take Kirumi's bag and one of you take Rantaro's. Then we're out."
Kaito was the one to take it this time.
"We'll think about what we just saw once we're out. For now, there's more urgent."
Shuichi nodded.
They took everything they had and walked back to the entrance.
He realized Ryoma managed to take the lead rather quickly. But right now, it was not a bad thing, considering their mental state.
The walk felt long, as the silence and the shock was making the atmosphere heavier and heavier.
The violinist looked at Kirumi, who had Rantaro on her back. She didn't look like she was struggling much carrying him.
He had no idea how the medic was holding up. What was the deal with him?
He asked himself that question so many times already, and yet he never got the answer.
Everyone was exhausted. Good thing they didn't have to deal with traps on the way back.
They had prepared themselves just to see the outside world is nothing but ruins?
This felt so wrong.
The group arrived at the entrance, but a problem immediately surfaced.
There was no way Kirumi could climb the ladder with Rantaro on her back.
"... Shit. I forgot about that part." Ryoma muttered.
"W-What do we do, then?" Kokichi asked.
There was a long silence.
"I can still try to climb the ladder, but we will need to find a way to make sure Rantaro doesn't slip off."
"Too dangerous. We can't risk his life for this."
"So what do you suggest?"
Ryoma looked at the manhole, then back at the group.
"One of you stays here while we bring back the weapons to my lab. I'll come back after to watch over him."
"Why not just leaving us the weapons? We know where your lab is." Kaito raised an eyebrow.
"I want to make sure the weapons are safe. I'm not leaving any of them in the hands of that stupid bear."
Good point.
"Then... Who stays?"
Miu crossed her arms, looking away. "Well... Kirumi carried Rantaro the entire way back, so... Perhaps we should give her a break from carrying weapons. Her back must hurt like hell."
... She still didn't know, did she?
Ryoma stared at her for a moment. "Fair enough. Kirumi, does it bother you to stay here?"
"Not at all. We have the resources in the bags, I can give them to him if he needs to in case he wakes up."
She gently put the medic on the ground with the help of Miu and Ryoma, and a half-emptied bag behind his head as a pillow.
He hadn't moved a single inch ever since they opened the door to the outside world.
The others took the rest of the equipment and Kirumi's hacking gun and started climbing the ladder.
Shuichi shot one last glance at her. She was sitting back to the wall, keeping a close eye on Rantaro.
For now, they had to take back the weapons to Ryoma's lab.
On the way here, he tried to think about what they just saw. The crimson scenery, the destroyed buildings, and the howling wind that knocked them all out.
If the entire world was nothing but ruins... Then what were they fighting for?
Why did Tenko give them more time to find a way out to a deceased world?
Why did Maki go so far as to kill someone at random if her family was decimated?
Why giving them reasons to go back to a world that doesn't exist?
Why did everyone make those sacrifices?
Why were they the only ones still alive?
These questions kept echoing in Shuichi's head. And no one had an answer to them.
They arrived at the weapons maker's lab.
"... I'll take care of these. We'll discuss important matters once Rantaro wakes up. Besides, you guys probably need to free your minds right now."
Kaito frowned. "'You guys'? Don't you include yourself in this?"
He paused for a moment. "... I'll go back to watch over Rantaro soon enough and let Kirumi go back to the academy. Also, I don't think I can rest without thinking about what we saw outside."
Shuichi glanced away for a moment, then looked back at him. "But-
His gaze was enough to tell he wasn't taking no for an answer.
The four left the lab upon Ryoma's request.
But even after closing the door behind them, he would see the uneasiness on their faces.
Miu looked like she was holding back tears. Kaito looked distressed as well, but was either less touched or was hiding it better.
As for Kokichi, it was hard to tell what he was thinking.
They went to the dining hall. Perhaps grabbing a snack would make them feel a little better.
But the moment they stepped foot in the dining hall...
... They saw a flashback light on the table.
"... Huh?" Miu blinked.
Kaito approached the thing. "Why is it here? It's unused, but... Couldn't Monokuma have given it to us yesterday?"
That was indeed strange.
"We can only wait for the others, then..." Shuichi muttered.
They sat around the table. None of them were even hungry. The violinist had just taken a glass of water.
He crossed his arms and put his face in them. The others were not in the mood either.
Kaito had stayed right outside the room to tell Ryoma about the flashback light.
After some time, he went back to the dining hall. "We're good. Now I guess Kirumi will come back soon enough."
They sat in silence. Sure, they could try to do something productive in the meantime, but... Everyone wordlessly agreed to stay here.
Some time after, the door reopened, revealing the mercenary.
She sat with the others without a word. She didn't look as shocked and worried, though. It was hard to tell how she was feeling.
...
"... What a silence." Kirumi noted after a long period of time.
"Well, do you have something to say?" Kaito asked. He noticed a hint of bitterness in his voice.
"Not really. I simply wish to understand what we witnessed."
"What's the point?" Kokichi muttered, voice muffled by his arms. "We can't get out of here anyway. We're going to die by the time limit. None of us have anything to go back to."
He was right. Either they die in the outside world, or they die executed by Monokuma when the time limit arrives.
There was no other choice.
"Not to be too blunt, but you all disappoint me."
Shuichi perked up. "Huh?"
"Look. Perhaps I am the only one in this case. I don't have anything to go back to in the outside world, in shambles or not. But I've dedicated my whole life to survival even when I knew nothing was waiting for me. This is no different and I'm not going to give up on everything I've done until now because of it."
"Excuse me?" Kaito suddenly stood up, approaching Kirumi. "We have families that are probably dead by now! We have something to go back to! But you saw the same thing we saw back there! There's nothing! Everyone is dead!"
The mercenary didn't back down, even though Kaito was mere inches away from her. "I know that as much as you do, thank you. But have you seriously lost your survival instinct and your respect for the dead the second your eyes landed on this hellish landscape? Because it sure looks like it."
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT RESPECTING THE DEAD?? YOU KILL PEOPLE FOR A LIVING, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!"
...
Those words echoed through the room.
Kaito was glaring at her. He was furious.
Kirumi, on the other hand, looked like she was holding back an immense amount of rage. Her cold, green eyes kept staring at the biker.
Without a word, she went back to the door, the eery tapping of her heels being the only sound in the room.
"Where are you going??"
She stopped for a moment.
"I am not welcome here, so I am leaving. Simple as that. I will be in my lab. Call me back when the flashback light is ready to be used."
"Wait-"
She closed the door behind her.
The amount of self-control she had was terrifying.
"Kaito... That was kind of harsh, don't you think?" he muttered.
He scoffed. "She's a freaking mercenary! She wouldn't have this job if she actually cared about peoples' lives!"
"But... She's right on certain points..." Kokichi nervously fidgeted with his sleeves. "If we give up now, then we're giving up everything we've done so far... And everyone would have died for nothing..."
"Because we didn't know there was nothing to go back to. I doubt we would have done something if we knew the world had ended from the start." Miu crossed his arms on the table. She was only muttering those words, an obvious sadness in her eyes.
Would they... Would they really have given up that easily back then? Would they have let themselves die?
"But still... We should at least try to understand the situation before agreeing on such a serious decision..." Shuichi suggested.
They looked at each other for a moment.
Kaito sat back down. "Let's just... Wait for Ryoma and Rantaro to come."
Silence settled upon them once again. But some of Shuichi's thoughts were replaced by guilt.
After some time, he stood up. "I'll... try to talk to Kirumi."
He left before anyone could say anything.
The violinist walked to her lab. Fortunately, it wasn't that far.
He knocked on the door. A few moments later, the mercenary opened. "... Are they back?"
"No, I just... thought I could talk to you."
She paused.
"Come in."
The two sat on the chairs. Kirumi was staring at nothing in particular, the rhythmic tapping of her nails echoing through the room.
"I'm... I'm sure Kaito didn't mean what he said." He broke the silence. But he had no idea if his statement was true or not.
"It's fine."
That would have been a bit more convincing if he hadn't already heard this quote used as a lie over and over again by the remaining survivors.
"But I stand my point. Your lack of survival instinct disgusts me."
"W-What do you mean?" perhaps he could learn a bit more about her ideals. She had always been silent about them.
"I've fought many battles in the past. All of them were for my own survival. I've never fought for anything or anyone but myself. It was survival of the fittest, after all. Never once have I completed a mission with any other intentions than 'if I do not kill my target, I will die'. This is everything I've lived for."
For someone to have such a strong survival instinct... That is probably why she is still alive to this day.
"Do not get me wrong, if another path opened that allowed me to live my life without those missions, I would gladly take it. I do not take pleasure in killing."
That was a bit reassuring, somehow.
"However I do not mind doing so if it means allowing myself to live longer."
He thought for a moment. Asking that question was a bit risky but... He wanted to. "I understand your thought process, but..."
"Why didn't you kill anyone? Considering your talent, you could have gotten away with it."
"Getting away with murder is not an easy task. No matter how strong and smart you are, you cannot escape the killing game rules if you get found out. You have seen it, even the slightest mistakes can be fatal."
"Besides, we have the ultimate karma in our group. To kill someone to escape would be suicide."
"What about the first blood perk? You could have killed someone easily and Monokuma would have let you out."
She paused for a moment. Shuichi could feel his heart pounding in his chest as she stared at him.
"... At this point I do not think saying it would have many consequences, whether you're responsible for this mess or not."
He didn't know what to say. "What do you mean?"
"I never acted because I have the feeling Monokuma would have never kept his promise."
Shuichi blinked. "W-What do you mean?"
"I did not know how Monokuma worked at the time. Would you really trust the bear keeping us trapped here to keep the promise of letting you go free if you kill someone?"
... Not at all.
"I will admit I considered it. But my trust for this bear is lower than anything else, which is why I passed this so-called opportunity." she explained. "I hope I answered your question."
He nodded. A part of him wanted to believe it was because she didn't want to kill, but... Perhaps he had too much faith. Kirumi was a trained killer, after all. It's only normal she would act strategically.
The room was silent for a while. Shuichi couldn't tell if it was tense or peaceful.
"Changing the subject, you are pretty dense, aren't you?" she asked.
"W-What do you mean?"
"When I said I didn't want to talk to anyone yesterday, I was waiting for you in my lab."
... Oh.
"Wait, really?"
She sighed. "It's fine. You said you needed to rest, anyway."
Still.
"W-What did you want to talk about?"
"Rantaro's obvious lie back in the exisal hangar."
His heart skipped a beat. "U-Um... Which part are you talking about?"
"To be honest, I do not know which words that came out of his mouth are lies and which are not, but I am mostly talking about the reason he used a scalpel."
Shuichi frowned. "He said he had to take care of an old scar that reopened, right?"
"And why would you use a scalpel for this?"
He paused. "To... undo the stitches?"
She blinked at him a few times. "And here I thought you had common sense."
"H-Hey!"
"You don't cut stitches with a scalpel when you have scissors. That's basic knowledge, and he is a war medic."
...
"You think... he lied to us?"
"I don't 'think'. I'm certain he lied."
"But if he used that on anyone else, they would have said something-
He brutally stopped.
...
"Do you think... He..."
Shuichi trailed off, growing more worried by the second.
But before he could add anything, there was a knock on the door.
They looked at each other for a second.
Kirumi opened the door, revealing Kokichi. "They're back."
The three made their way to the dining hall.
But before they could enter, Shuichi heard some noise inside- people arguing, most likely. He didn't recognize the voices, unfortunately.
Kokichi opened the door to reveal that the ones arguing were Rantaro and Miu.
"We can't just leave you out of these! They're important for all of us!"
"Please, Miu. My head is killing me. I told you I'll be fine without it."
"What is the ruckus about?" Kirumi asked, everyone suddenly turning to her.
"I said that I'll let you guys use the flashback light without me because I'm tired enough as it is."
"But your memories! We can't use this without you!"
"You'll just tell me what it was about! But right now I feel like shit and I'm going to rest, okay?" he only slightly raised his voice.
He started making his way towards the door.
Shuichi, who was already worried sick about him, put himself in the way. "I know you probably need rest, but... Perhaps you can do that after we use it? Or we can use it after you rested a little?"
... He had no idea what he was doing. Hopefully, this wouldn't go too badly.
Rantaro looked at him with tired, empty eyes. "Please, move. I don't have the energy to confront any of you right now."
The violinist looked past him at Miu, who narrowed her eyes for a moment.
"I'm sorry, but..."
The medic perked up, his expression suddenly changing to a panicked one.
He instantly turned around. "DON'T YOU D-
*clic!*
Miu activated the flashback light.
The memories rushed to his mind.
The meteorites.
The end of the world approaching.
Leaders of every nation wanting to prevent the extinction of the human race. They had created the Gofer Project not to save humanity, but rather to salvage it. And they were the ones chosen for this mission.
They were going to be the ones recreating humanity from the ashes, passing their legacy on, and discover perhaps a new planet to live on.
He remembered saying goodbye to his uncle and cousin as the ones working on the project were waiting for him.
He had left his family, his friends, and everyone behind for the project.
They were humanity's last hope. The 16 chosen ones to carry on Earth's legacy.
...
His vision slowly came back to him.
But his eyes immediately turned to Rantaro, who was struggling to keep himself steady, hands on his head, breathing heavily and shaking slightly.
"A-Are you okay?" He wanted to put his hands on his shoulders but refrained from doing so.
He stayed like this for a moment. Had they seen the same thing with the flashback light?
Ryoma approached him. "You good?"
After a few more shaky deep breaths, he stood back up, a hand still gripping his head.
"I'm... fine."
Shuichi turned back to the others.
Kaito was looking at the ground, processing what just happened.
Kirumi was staring at the three with concern, but it was most likely she was also pondering about the situation.
Kokichi was thinking as well. This was a lot to take in.
But Miu... She had both hands on her mouth, desperately trying to hold back tears.
"K-Kaz... I abandoned him... I..."
They all had to leave their families behind. Their loved ones. Everyone they wanted to live with, they had to abandon them for the Gofer Project.
To salvage humanity.
Miu fell on her knees. "H-He's... He's dead..."
The others stared at her for a moment. No one had comforting words to help.
But to Shuichi's surprise, Rantaro was the first to approach her, kneeling down.
"Hey."
The street artist lifted her head.
"They wanted this for us. They wanted us to live. Even if they're not here anymore, the least we can do is to salvage their memory."
"And it's by staying alive that we can honor them. If we are indeed humanity's last hope..."
"... Then we shall carry on their legacy and fight until the very end. For our siblings. For our friends. For our family. For everyone who believed in us. Whether they were strangers, acquaintances, or much more than that."
"No one would want to see us so soon in the afterlife. So even if it's hard, even if we have challenges to surpass, even if we have enemies in our way, there is only one path to follow if we want to be satisfied with our lives."
"It's to keep living on."
Rantaro's voice was low, but confident. He may have been talking to Miu, but his words pierced Shuichi's heart as well.
For the first time in what felt like an eternity, it was like he had regained his will. Although these last few days were harsh, he seemed to be back to the soldier he claimed to be since the very beginning.
Even if they had different ideals, even if they were fighting for drastically different causes, even if they had different visions of life, their objective was the same.
To live.
Miu stared at him for a moment. She glanced away, like she was hesitating.
And without a warning, she wrapped her arms around him. He looked surprised at first, but hugged her back anyway.
The young woman started crying all the tears in her body.
It then felt like a chain reaction.
Shuichi felt warm tears form in his eyes. He put a hand on his mouth and looked at the ground.
A hand landed on his shoulder, he looked up to see Kaito next to him. He looked away for a second. There wasn't a single word spoken, but it was not necessary. The biker pulled him into a hug, letting Shuichi cry on his chest. He doesn't know if Kaito was even doing so as well. But right now, all he was thinking was the same phrase over and over.
Everyone is dead.
Neither Kirumi, Kokichi, nor Ryoma cried. They already had no one to go back to, but stayed silent for the sake of the others.
They could only follow Rantaro's words.
But after a moment, he felt Kaito moving slightly. He looked up to see him looking at Kirumi.
He turned to the mercenary. She pointed at Rantaro and Miu, who were still on the floor, holding onto each other like a lifeline.
At first, he didn't see what was wrong, but on a closer look, Rantaro was staring at the void with wide, fearful eyes. It wasn't the face of a comforting person- but rather someone who was completely terrified.
He glanced back at Kirumi for a second, who gestured that they should be separated as soon as possible.
Kaito approached Miu and tapped on her shoulder.
She opened her eyes, blurry with tears.
The biker pointed at the person she was hugging.
She frowned for a moment, then looked like she had just realized what was happening.
"H-Hey... You're hurting me a little here-"
...
No response.
"Rantaro...?"
He was shaking.
The street artist tried to move her hands to his shoulders to perhaps try and push him away for a moment, but his grip was too strong.
"Rantaro...!"
He suddenly perked up. "Huh?"
Realizing how he was positioned, he instantly let go of her.
"... Sorry, I was out for a moment."
That's not 'being out', but sure.
The two stood back up, Miu looking seriously concerned for him.
There was a heavy silence in the room.
"What... What do we do...?" Kokichi muttered. "I don't even know what to think anymore."
... No one answered. No one had a plan. No one knew what they could do.
What broke the silence first was the sound of the monitor turning on.
"Ahem! This is a school announcement!"
Kaito raised an eyebrow. "Again?"
"Everyone, please gather at the gym immediately!"
... That must be about the second motive.
Was the time limit not enough? What did he even want?
They made their way to where they were requested to go.
And on the stage was Monokuma, eating what looked like a salmon, next to several huge boxes painted black and white.
There was an awkward moment as everyone stared at the bear.
"Finally! I've waited so very long to announce this motive! If all of could stop fainting each time I try to do something, that could be nice!" he exclaimed as he threw away the half-eaten fish.
For once, no one said anything. Perhaps because they were all done with his games.
"... Could you kids lighten up a little? I will announce you all the next motive! Did you like the last flashback light, by the way?"
"I currently want to gut you of your wires until you're nothing more than a metallic empty shell. Is that the answer you're looking for?" Ryoma sarcastically said, glaring at the bear.
"Puhuhu... Such passion in hatred! I haven't seen it in years!"
"How old even are you?" Kokichi asked, visibly annoyed.
"Those are mere details distracting you from the important!"
Shuichi almost forgot about the motive.
"The motive that I planned to give you from the start..."
The boxes suddenly opened, revealing what looked like military equipment and other objects Shuichi didn't know of.
"... Is the one that I call 'Surviving the No-Man's land!"
That didn't help in the slightest.
"If one of you manages to make their kill before the time limit and get away with it, they will receive all this equipment! Now you may be wondering what it is for, and so, I shall answer!"
"This motive was supposed to be given right after you discovered the truth of the outside world. But due to technical difficulties, I had to postpone the announcement."
Rantaro didn't react to that remark.
"All of this equipment was created by the organizers of the Gofer Project to discover the new horizons from outer space! With this equipment, you can safely travel across even the harshest worlds! And of course, that includes..."
"... The outside of this academy!"
Shuichi perked up. Of course, they had prepared something. But now, it was in Monokuma's hands. The possibility to explore the outside was right in front of their eyes, but they couldn't take it.
This means if someone somehow manages to kill and get away with it, they will be the sole survivor of humanity, free to roam the crimson desert they had barely seen.
But... Who would want that?
Who would want to be the only survivor?
This doesn't make any sense. But with the time limit approaching, it became hopeless.
They now had three days to make a decision. To stay here and die, or to kill someone and have a chance to live.
This felt so absurd.
Monokuma closed the boxes. "Of course, I shall guard these precious objects safe from your clean little hands. Only the one with bloodied hands declared as an angel shall put a finger on it!"
Shuichi couldn't even feel disgusted anymore. He had already seen everything. Corpses. Executions. Mental breakdowns. The horrifying truth. Right now was just another magot in the pile.
"This was the school announcement, brought to you by your favorite headmaster! And now..."
With a slam on the podium, the floor opened beneath the boxes, making them out of reach.
"... I shall let you decide of your fate! Who shall prevail? Who shall die? Let the strongest and smartest thrive! I shall come back when your decision has been made!"
He left without another word.
At least he was gone, for now.
Shuichi glanced at the others. Judging by how everyone acted, no one would even try to do this, right?
He didn't really know. But this time, he felt more confident thinking that.
After all, everyone knew about the truth of the outside world. And to be the single ruler of humanity, to be the ultimate survivor... What was the point?
Ryoma looked at Rantaro for a moment. "I'm guessing you're thinking about the same plan as me?"
After a pause, Rantaro stepped forward. "That should be obvious."
"You... do have a plan?" Miu asked.
"There aren't a million ways to continue. I stick to what I said back in the dining hall. If we want to keep living on, there is only one solution."
"We're going to fight."
Shuichi almost jumped. "To fight Monokuma? But... He can still control the exisals, right?"
"And?"
He paused.
"The time limit is in three days. We have Ryoma's lab open, we have weapons, we have a safe place to live for the rest of our lives in, and right now, we have nothing to lose."
"We're going to fight Monokuma and the exisals. We're going to fight for our lives, even more than we ever did."
"We have among us someone more than capable of creating weapons strong enough for us to stand a chance. So there is only one solution to this."
"Ryoma is going to create those weapons. As for the rest of us, we will both train to fight and find out the rest of the secrets of this entire disaster."
"There is no way I'm going to let us all die here without fighting, and even if we die in the process, at least we will have tried."
"But I believe our victory is possible. I believe we can put an end to this madness once and for all. So..."
He raised his voice.
"Will you fight? Or will you let yourself die meaninglessly??"
... He would never give up in any circumstances, would he?
"Well??"
"I don't even need to say it." Ryoma put his hands in his pockets. "I'm not letting that bear dictate the rest of my days."
"You can count on me as well." Kirumi added. "I'm done with him."
"I'll fight! I said that I would yesterday, so I'll continue now!" Miu yelled.
"Even if... Even we're the sole survivors... I still want to fight." Kokichi muttered. "That's... what I promised to do, after all."
Shuichi took a step forward. "That's what we all promised, right?"
"You bet your ass that's what we promised!" Kaito exclaimed. "Even if I was never the most suited, I want to give that bear a piece of my mind!"
"Then are you guys ready to throw your lives for this? Are you ready to fight and possibly die for this cause?"
It's not like they had a choice.
"Yeah!" they yelled almost in unison.
Everyone parted their ways as nighttime was approaching. This day was long. Way too long. But now they had a plan. And even if the outside world was nothing but ruins, they would still fight.
He went to bed, a new objective in mind. Tomorrow he would train. He would read the notebooks. He would do something. More than he ever did in this game.
They were going to fight Monokuma and finish this, once and for all.
Even if he wasn't fit, even if he never thought about actually fighting Monokuma.
But judging by what Ryoma was capable of, to think they had a chance wasn't that much of a delusion.
He would have to read the notebooks, too. He had put them aside up until now, but they must have valuable information.
... Perhaps that was also a way to honor Tsumugi and Korekiyo.
Even if they lacked the information they had now, they were smart enough to find things on their own.
The end of the killing game was getting closer and closer now.
Soon, they would finally be free.

This a more angsty request. How about the V3 kids react to their S/O (definently not anymore) being in a Yakuza clan and getting them pulled into the Yakuza unwillingly. It's really angsty, sorry.
BRO why!?
Like ngl it was fun to write but whyyyyy! The Ryoma one just fucking broke my heart!
Unrelated but related: when I was writing for Korekiyo I felt so strong Jhin vibes even though it isn't anyhow similar to Jhin please help
Tumblr media
V3 cast getting pulled into Yakuza unwillingly by their (now ex) S/O
Ryoma Hoshi
Why... Why didn't he realize it sooner? All this time you were part of Yakuza and now he was forced to be a part of it...
Or so you thought. The rule is simple you stay or you die... Ryoma picked the second option.
He whouldn't make himself a puppet and he whouldn't forgive you for this either.
He actually rathers death than even trying to run becouse now he has no reason to continue whatever hell it is.
He should have known that happiness wasn't meant for him and he learnt it the hardest way possible.
Kirumi Tojo
She didn't knew what to do or think honestly. You betrayed her but she still felt something for you.
But of course she can't be with someone who forced her into Yakuza... Still she was doing anything that was expected from her.
The only person she didn't listen to was you. Since last time she did it she ended up in this situation.
In general she avoided you at all cost but when she couldn't she spoke formally with you and her tone was allways cold...
From that time nobody has ever seen her caring side. She didn't care about anything or anyone.
Gonta Gokuhara
Gonta was confused about everything and kept asking questions.
He didn't wanted to do any of Yakuza duties but he was forced to do it. With someone as strong as he was your clan was unstoppable.
It left huge mental impact on him and he began to be more and more scared. He couldn't run because he didn't wanted to hurt more people even if they were bad.
Because if he wasn't himself he would have made it out easily without any problems... But this is Gonta not some kind of terminator.
He often cried himself to sleep thinking that you of all people did it. Surely he also avoided you and even though it was rude he didn't speak to you at all.
Miu Iruma
Her genius inventions whould surely be useful so all she needed to do was invent. But she couldn't belive that she was in this mess.
She cursed at you each time she saw your face and threatened you often.
Like she literally tried to kill you... When she was making an invention that was going to protect you she actually made it a "head squisher" to say it nicely. Luckily for you you weren't first person to try the invention on.
She so was planning escape and revenge. I mean you gave her all materials she needed to make herself uncomfortable but she planned this far ahead.
K1B0
He didn't understand why this was happening and he did resist but after threats that you whould delete his code and replace it with something more suitable for yakuza he stopped and gave in.
But you were going to change his code either way. Keebo was just too... Weak emotionally for shit he whould do.
So you lost your boyfriend and gained a weapon. Now K1B0 isn't anymore your sweet Keebo... Not gonna lie you will miss him but who cares at this point about some stupid emotions?
Kaede Akamatsu
She was adapting to situation surprisingly well. Even though you betrayed her she didn't look at you the way you thought she whould.
Few days later you lern that she had first attempt of sabotaging your clan. Afterwards she didn't hide her true feelings now that her cover was blown.
She looked at you with annoyed expression and whould refuse to speak with you. She was heartbroken.
She managed to hold back her tears around you but when she was alone she was crying.
Kaito Momota
Oh he really expressed verbally what he thought about this all. Did he hit you? He wanted to but he was warned that if he harms you in any way then he's dead.
He wanted to believe in you. He really did some part of him even thought that he wasn't looking at you.
But he knew that he's just hoping for something unreal so he accepted it. You weren't the person he met and fall for and he was an idiot to think otherwise.
He was stubborn since there is no way he whould let himself be used as a godamn toy.
Every day he thought of a way to get out of this mess but alone he couldn't do anything.
Still he didn't give up no matter what you whould do he whouldn't lose hope.
Angie Yonaga
At first she thought you were joking. After all why whould Atua chose you for her if you were going to do such a thing.
But it turns out you were as serious as she didn't wanted you to be.
She started thinking why you whould do it but it doesn't matter at all.
She tried to trick your people into setting her free but it didn't work. No matter what she did or said she couldn't get out of this mess.
But she was still smiling her eyes grew dark when she saw you and you could feel her deadly glare but you didn't care enough.
Shuichi Saihara
He knew too well about the fact that now that he knows about the Yakuza he has to either die or join it. Since your clan was more of a secret one.
Of course he didn't give up on his life so he joined you.
He didn't look you in the eye and alredy came up with a plan to defeat you. To do that he was cooperating with whatever your clan wanted from him.
You were surprised that he didn't resist but you also often saw him in his free time closed in his room but since he couldn't lock the doors you could open it and nobody whould stop you.
Each time you saw exact same image... Him sitting in the corner looking at the ground beneath him his back facing the door.
After so many successful missions and years of him being 'part of the family' your clan trusted him enough to send him as a double agent. Wich was their mistake.
Everyone was arrested including you. And last time you saw him he looked serious and in his eyes you saw disgust. Last thing he ever said to you was plain "Bye".
Tenko Chabashira
(if you are a boy) She should have listened to her master and stay away from you. He was right that males were bad but this? This was just too much.
(if you are a girl) She was shocked about it. You were allways so kind gentle and amazing she can't believe that you whould do something like this.
(rest of the scenario) Breaking up with you was something she didn't had to do since you both were aware that becouse of your little scheme you aren't dating anymore.
Tenko was strong and you used her strength well. She was too scared to not listen... She was too scared to run... It felt like a huge trap and she couldn't do anything.
So in the end she had to work for you until you didn't need her anymore wich means death to her.
Rantaro Amami
Of course you made him join by using his sisters as a bait. Becouse of just this fact alone you knew that you were now no longer a pair.
As long as he cooperated the girls whould be okay. So he had no choice.
He didn't treat you with silence so when you had something to say to him he whould give you the most plain response.
And this continued over and over Rantaro kept thinking why he was so blind to fall for you. Even though he didn't knew anything about you being a Yakuza you still threw some of red flags he wasn't able to see over his love for you.
Kokichi Ouma
He agreed only becouse he knew that D.I.C.E was probably your next target to pull into your stupid yakuza bullshit.
So it was his condition wich you agreed to but both of you knew you lied to him. Sooner or later your people caught his people "Now we are like a big family!" wich he only responded by smiling at you but this smile was filled with hatred.
He was making things harder and often sabotaged you but you let him live since you had control of him not the other way around.
You made sure the D.I.C.E members were separated so they couldn't work together in order to escape. Many people at your clan were annoyed by the clowns but they were very valuable to make Kokichi give in.
But no matter what strings you pulled this puppet was doing whatever it wanted.
Himiko Yumeno
At first everyone questioned your choice but she still had to go through all yakuza duty. She wasn't strong and so she often was close to her own death.
By that time it was obvious she hated you. She allways repeated it whenever she saw you come towards her "Go away I hate you!"
She was scared and couldn't even psychically do any task that was given to her so she went through cruel training.
Her fragile body couldn't take the training however and one day she died during it from exhaustion.
Maki Harukawa
She should have expected it. I mean you two got together after she told you her real puppet.
By now she was used to being used as a puppet to kill and she didn't fight it.
But each time she saw you you could feel the hostility coming from her. She hated you and you couldn't blame her.
Maki wanted to kill you but she couldn't since second she stabs you she whould get killed by other member of yakuza.
Korekiyo Shinguji
The last thing he said to you was "Kukuku... So your true nature was actually ugly... Too bad I didn't see through it".
You didn't shove him away when he told you that in reality he used to kill people before he met you and that made him fall even more for you but now it all didn't matter.
You kept the relationship going just so you could trap him back into his killing habit.
Each time you needed a woman dead you gave that task to him and he hated you for that since he realized how fucked up what he used to do was.
Still he couldn't disobey but after all what whould be death for him really...
After some time he stopped caring about any of this. And he ended up killing himself...
But before he did that he killed you in your sleep. That revenge felt a bit too good for him really...
Tsumigi Shirogane
She couldn't belive something like this whould happen to someone like her. It all felt like a nightmare that she whould wake up from but it never happened.
It's obvious that she wasn't happy about your betrayal. But why whould she be really.
Still she was too scared of you to disobey you. So she did whatever you told her to.
So it was a training she was too weak for something actually good. It didn't go easy on her and it lasted for many months before she was anyhow useful.
Her spirit broke by that time she didn't care about a thing. She was in despair but her face didn't show any emotion.

So I loved your response on who would be most likely to witch out in the PMMM/DR v3 au, but id love to ask, what did they all wish for? (Bonus: Also did those wishes backfire?)
So, these are my thoughts for right now, but if I actually planned more of the “story” for this AU, some of them might change. For some of them I kind of cheated and came up with the power first, but in my defense it’s hard to come up with wishes without having planned more of the plot, since Kyubey tries so hard to get people to make spur of the moment wishes during times of stress.
Kokichi: I see him as totally paranoid (rightfully so) over how Kyubey’s trying to trick him but still obsessing for weeks over the perfect phrasing for a wish just in case, and then suddenly a witch traps him and DICE in a Labyrinth and he ends up contracting with a totally spontaneous wish. Something like “saving my friends” or “being strong enough to protect my family.” For maximum irony, he’d end up with powers that get stronger when fighting with/to protect others but keep trying to fight alone anyway due to not trusting other magicals and not wanting to put DICE in danger. He’d also tell people he wished for other things like, “to rule the world from the shadows,” or “an infinite supply of scarfs.” As for backfiring, he does save everyone that one time, but they’re in more danger since other magicals end up targeting them when Kokichi poaches from their territories, plus they’re in the line of fire if/when he witches out.
Kaito: Like in the game, Kaito is terminally ill and wishes for something along the lines of “being healthy enough to achieve his dreams,” but he totally lies and says he wished for something like “being strong enough to help others.” He gets the power to temporarily boost other people’s powers and/or make their bodies regenerate from wounds. He kind of avoids using the healing part at first because it’s a little suspicious with his alleged wish and then pretends it’s a thing he’s been practicing. It doesn’t really go bad for him, and I don’t think he’d regret making the wish, even when he finds out about the Soul Gems controlling your body thing. Maybe when he realizes there are no witches in space? But even then I think he’d be in denial…
Shuichi: Shuichi ends up involved in a really serious case and just can’t find the piece that ties it all together even though everyone is counting on him. At the height of his anxiety, Kyubey approaches him, and he wishes to find the truth. He basically gets super intuition/lie detection with a (mental) visual interface sort of like the DR trials (truth bullets plus the mini games). This creates drama with certain other magicals who are hiding something (cough, Kokichi and Kaito) and makes him doubt his skills since he’s relying on magic to cheat.
Maki: Still an orphan, still approached by a cult, but then approached by Kyubey. She wishes that the cult would never bother anyone at the orphanage again, and they all end up arrested, dead, or mysteriously vanished. She basically gets the power to make things/people “go away” to a pocket dimension only she can access, and this makes other people sort of forget those things/people exist while they’re inside. She sees her wish as a necessary sacrifice, like her becoming an assassin in canon, so she is Not Happy when Kyubey approaches some of the other orphans.
Kaede: Honestly not sure???? She doesn’t really have anything in her backstory that would be a catalyst for Kyubey to approach her, so I see it as more of a random chance, situation-based thing, like Madoka healing the cat. Maybe she was trapped in a Labyrinth and wished for the power to fight survive, or to save a friend? Just know it’s not related to her piano playing. That’s all practice, and she likes it that way.
(Joke answer: Kaede gets super mad at someone from a distance and wishes she could slap them across the face for being an idiot. She gets the power to telekinetically smack anything around from across the room.)
Himiko: Intrigued by the idea of real magic but not intrigued by the idea of having to fight witches. Ends up wishing for her mentor to be more popular. Not as mind-controlly as Kyoko’s wish; basically, people just find him really cool and talented and can’t look away from his shows, but they don’t like, form a cult? Sort of derails her own career as a magician (both because the audience likes her mentor more and because she has to sneak off and fight witches) and doesn’t really fix the problems in their relationship, but he doesn’t leave and never return. Anyway, she gets the power to make herself and anyone she touches more or less noticeable/popular. Really good for stealth or drawing aggro. Also for convincing people to do her favors.
Tenko: She recently moved to the city after living in a temple since she was a child, and is finding it hard to adjust. One night, when she’s out acting as a “hero of justice” like her Master taught her and preventing a suicide, she ends up trapped in a Labyrinth and saved by Himiko. She ends up really, really attached and sort of accompanies her on hunts for a while until something goes wrong, and she ends up wishing to protect Himiko. She ends up with sort of a sense when Himiko needs help and is really good at putting up shields/barriers.
Miu: Still in a bad car crash leading to a coma, butthe surgery doesn’t go as well. Kyubey approaches her in the hospital right after she’s been told she’s facing permanent brain damage. She almost wishes to put her brain back to normal but then decides, why stop there? She wishes to be a genius with a super-brain that can solve any problem, and ends up with super inspiration, mostly aimed at turning any materials around her into an invention that will help her. She can use magic to substitute for missing materials and speed up the development time, but this uses a lot of magic at once, and the finished product won’t work for anyone else. Freaks out when she learns her body is now essentially hardware, but then she realizes the possibilities for improving things… Then everyone else freaks out.
Gonta: Still a feral child who got lost in the woodsand was sort of raised by wolves (not reptites, sorry), but this affects his ability to learn language and social skills much, much more severely than in canon. Wishes for the ability to understand others, which makes him fluent in all languages and sort of an empath. Also, because he sees animals as sort of on the same level as humans, this extends to animal languages in addition to human ones. Being able to speak and mimic “good manners” improves others’ opinions of him and his intelligence, but being able to feel how his birth family really feels about him is so upsetting that he eventually ends up running away and staying with Miu and Kiibo.
Kiibo: Lives with Miu. Does not remember his wish, but he has powers, so he has to have made one? Probably human. I’m still sort of torn over his backstory, but I’m kind of leaning towards a Hijiri kind of situation, where he was created by someone else’s wish. Or magic (cough, Miu.)
Ryoma: Wishes to get revenge on the mafia that killed his family and girlfriend. Basically gets enhanced strength and a sort of sense of where all of the members are. I sort of went over how his wish ends up in the other post…
Korekiyo: Wished to cure his sister’s illness and got healing powers. Currently traveling the world to observe other magicals. Like the other cult members, offers to use his powers for a price (usually Grief Seeds or information).
Angie: Starts out living on an isolated island andacting as a priestess/oracle, but begins to doubt her own abilities/connection to her god because natural disasters are getting worse and more people are leaving. She sort of interprets Kyubey as a messenger from her god and wishes to know what’s really going on/get a better sense of her destiny. She gets the power to predict the future as long as she is personally involved. She has to actively focus on a question (What happens if I do this?) or a goal (I want to achieve this) and she’ll see the most probable path. This really elevates her sense of self-importance, and makes it much easier to make others see things her way. It doesn’t prevent a tsunami from destroying her home and making everyone leave, at which point she meets Tsumugi and Kirumi.
Tsumugi: Her life isn’t bad, but she doesn’t like herself that much and feels empty and unfulfilled until she comes across the existence of actual magical girls (well, one in particular). Like an anime come to life! Tsumugi wishes for the ability to become someone else (yes, I know this was Rena’s wish too…) and gets the power to transform into other people. If they’re a magical, she can also copy a limited, weaker version of their powers.
Rantaro: Wishes to find all of his sisters and gets the ability to track people. He has an inherent sense where each of his sisters is and their general emotional state, but he can also apply this power to other people if he focuses. It works from anywhere in the world and can be based on a photograph, but it works best when the person is close by (from a country away he knows they’re alive and northwest from him, from a building away he knows they’re sitting in a chair in the back corner of the back bedroom and feeling excited but a little nervous) and he’s met them in person. He quickly discovers that tracking a sister down once doesn’t mean she’ll stay “found” and go home. Some of them also want to travel, others have bad senses of direction and always get lost again, some find his new knowledge of where they are and how they feel super creepy and avoid him, and at least one became a magical girl already… He probably finds out about the witch thing first…….
Kirumi: Part of a family that’s been serving animportant, rich family (maybe Rantaro’s? for maximum irony?) for generations. She’s been trained to dedicate her whole life to serving others and has no real prospects outside of eventually becoming head maid and training her own children to replace her. Meets Angie and Tsumugi and is immediately drawn in by Angie’s message. Wishes for the ability to instantly transport herself and others and gets the ability to teleport to any location she’s seen (photos count). It gets harder the more people she takes along, the longer the distance, and the less detail she knows about her destination. She tells everyone—and herself—that she lives to serve and wished for a convenient power to better serve the group’s needs, but she secretly wanted to escape really badly for her own sake too.

DR3 boys react to an S/O being accused of murder in the killing game
For some reason Tumblr won’t let me respond to this one directly so I’m making a completely separate post so I hope whoever requested it sees it! Anyway this is super angsty and I hope y’all like it! sorry it took so long for me to get out bit this past weekend was pretty busy and this was a bit of a long one.
Tumblr media
-mod korekiyo
Shuichi Saihara
He’s confused
How could everyone be so blind
You are so sweet and kind, you could never kill someone!
You were terrified
You were pale and sweating
You gripped tightly to you podium
Everyone was yelling back and forth about how it had to be you
You had such a solid alibi but no one would believe you
You looked to Shuichi for help
He had been rather calm during the whole trial but the helpless look on your face broke him
“Alright listen up! S/o can’t be the murder! And I have solid evidence to proof it!”
Everyone went silent
No one had ever seen Shuichi so angry
“Listen, S/O was with me when ryoma was killed, and even monokuma can back up that fact, but that’s not all!”
You let out a sigh of relief
“Even if they would have snuck out and killed him, then himiko would have definitely seen them, which she said she didn’t”
Himiko nodded in agreement
You gave Shuichi a smile and thanked him
After the trial you were shaken up as always, everyone was
You hugged him tightly and buried you head in his neck
He rubbed your back mumbled small “I love you’s” into your ear
He was so scared that he would lose you
He was scared that he would lose everyone
Gonta Gokuhara
This boy was TERRIFIED
He can lose his S/O!
“S/O WOULD NEVER KILL!”
Everyone looked at him with pity
The poor man was a wreck
He tried making arguments but they all came out as incoherent sobs
You took a deep breath and tried to defend yourself
Normally no one would believe you, but they wanted to give Gonta some hope
That’s when the realized that the case didn’t actually make any sense if you were the killer
Gonta was so relieved
After the trial he picked you up of the ground and held you tightly
“S/O GONTA WAS SO SCARED!”
It took a lot of cuddles to calm him down
Ryoma hoshi
When your name was mentioned, he smiled
This is his sick punishment wasn’t it
He let himself become close to someone as pure as you and you became just like him
He blamed himself
He looked at you with tears in his eyes
“I’m sorry S/O, this is my fault”
“What?! No I didn’t do it!”
He wanted to believe you so badly
But part of him was still convinced that you had killed someone and now you were going to die and it was all his fault
“ S/O! Isn’t funny how things turn out so awfuly in the end?!”
He was laughing and crying
You’ve never seen him like this
He was hysterical
It scared you too see your nomaly rather stoic boyfriend like this
“Ryoma please calm down! I didn’t do it!”
He didn’t
You looked around in a panic
Your eyes filled with tears
You were hyperventilating, the room felt like it was spinning
“Please, I-I’m not the murder, ple-please believe me”
Everyone stopped to look at you
Shuichi noted how distressed you were and decided to look things over some more leading to the discover that miu was the killer the whole time
After the trial you and ryoma didn’t speak much until he pulled you into his room
He broke down
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry”
You fell to your knees and began sobbing into your hands
Neither of you were really ok after that
You can’t stop thinking about how he thought he had pushed you to murder
Did he really think that he was that bad
You two sat against the wall holding each other for a while, neither one wanting to let go
Kiibo
At first he believed them
When you were first accused he was shocked
All he could think was why
You were so nice, you were the only one who fully looked past the fact he was a robot and saw him only as himself
He was heartbroken
“S/O?.......”
“Kiibo it’s not true!”
“S/O why did you kill Angie!....”
You had been trying to stay calm and collected but now you broke down
Kiibo was trying to wrap his head around what was going on
He couldn’t figure out why you would do it
He didn’t think you would have any reason to do so
So why would you do it, it didn’t make any sense
“Wait!”
Everyone stopped and looked at him
“Why would S/O do it, they don’t have a motive, but korekiyo would!”
Soon after , everything fell into place
You both were extremely relieved
After the trial he started to avoid you
“Thank you so much for helping me out back there”
He didn’t respond
You tried to hug him but he backed away
“Kiibo, are you ok?”
“I’m a horrible boyfriend”
“What?! Where is this coming from?”
“I- i thought you killed someone!”
“ Ok i'll admit that it hurt when you accused me, but i don’t blame you for anything Kiibo!”
At this point you two were both sobbing
You hugged each other tightly, sobbing into each other shoulders
He just whispered “I’m sorry” and “love you” over and over again
You gladly accept his apology
Kaito Momota
He is MAD
How dare anyone think HIS S/O could ever kill anyone!
You were shocked
He watched you try to defend yourself but everyone just kept shutting your points down
It broke his heart to see this
He tried to defend you but his mind was too clouded by anger for him to make an actual argument
Eventually Shuichi realized that you couldn’t have been the killer
Kiato calmed down a bit but he was still snappy towards everyone but you during the trial
After the trial he was still on edge
You tried to calm him down but it seemed to just get more angry
“They could have killed everyone! Including you! And that killer would have just walked away from this place!”
He started to cry
You pulled him into a tight hug
He almost fell over but as soon as he regained his balance he hugged you tighter
“He kiato, please just calm down. I’m fine now, everything is fine”
He never really got over that trial but he’s just happy you’re ok
Rantaro Amami
Like Kiibo, he actually thought you were a murder
He was so distraught
He was going to lose you
He blamed no one but this killing game
He just looked down to the ground and let tears roll down his cheeks
“Wait? Rantaro you don’t actually think I killed someone right?”
he gave you a sad yet guilty look
while the rest of the group discussed your motives, Rantoro stayed  looking at the ground
he couldn't look anyone in the eye
especially that god forsaken bear
he was just mad that this game had broken someone as sweet as you
you were struggling to defend yourself in the trail
no one really wanted to listen to what you had to say
“rantaro?!‘
“S/O?”
“rantaro i didn't do it please”
“I know, i'm sorry i don't want you to go but please just be honest! for me?”
“RANTARO SNAP OUT OF IT I'M NOT THE KILLER!”
he had never seen you snap like that
it scared him more than anything
but he knew you were serious and gave a second look at the case
luckily they were able to find the real killer and the trial ended
after the trial rantaro ran to you and hugged you from behind
he was still crying
he mumbled apologies into your shoulder in between sobs.
you accepted his apology and turned around to give him a proper hug
Korekiyo Shinguji
He upheld is calm nature the whole trial
Well almost the whole trial
When your name was brought up he was startled but he seemed ok
You tried to defend yourself
No one wanted to hear what you had to say
You looked at him to see if he could back you up
He gave a reassuring nod
He then simply tried to tell the group why you couldn’t be the killer
Emphasis on “tried”
He voice was shaky and quiet
no one believed him
Shuichi announced that he thinks it time to vote
Korekiyo PANICKED
“Wait!”
Everyone stopped and turned to him
“I-I’m the killer”
Everyone just stared at him confused
Well if you get out of here Alive you might beat up your boyfriend for pulling something like this
Although he did cause the group to take a second look at the case, saving everyone’s life
After the trial you grabbed his arm and pulled him aside
“Why would you do something like that we all could have died!”
To your surprise his eyes filled with tears
“I’m sorry S/O, I just couldn’t bare the thought of your death and I panicked!”
His voice was shaky and horse
It broke your heart to see him like this
You pulled your lanky boyfriend into a hug
He held tightly onto you, petting your hair with his bandaged hand
Kokichi ouma
You were argueing with everyone defending yourself
But no one would listen to a word you would say
Kokichi tried to defend you too but no one wanted to listen to him either
He looked defeated
You looked over to kokichi
He expression suddenly changed
He looked up and gave you a sly smile and winked
What on earth is your boyfriend up to
He instantly faked up some tears and sobs
“I guys you guys must be right”
He sobbed a bit before looked up at you
“How could you S/O!? I thought we were going to get out of here together?!”
You turned to him giving a “what on earth are you doing” look
You quickly turned around and stared blankly at everyone else hoping your boyfriend knew what he was doing
“I knew it was you from the very start S/O!”
What is he doing!?
“You and I were in your room with kiato and you left to go to the bathroom, that’s when you snuck off to kill Rantaro right?!”
Kiato nodded
“And then you came back at around 6:05 which is proven by this picture we took afterwards in which shows a clock reading 6:10, which would have given you enough time to commit the murder which was documented to have happened at 6:08!”
Kiato shot up with a relization
“Wait that doesn’t dosnt make sense!!”
Kokichi smirked
“Exactly, it took all that for you guys to actually listen!”
So that’s what he was doing
After the trial you gave him a big hug and thanked him
Although he won’t admit it, he was pretty terrified

The Kitsune Hamlet’s Vice-Chief
Thanks for the support as always, @breeachuu! It was super fun to write Pashmina, so I hope you like it! Watch out, ye who enters, for the sin!
Summary: Kaden was someone who was serious in his own way of repaying favors in the most varied ways. While was out, it was Pashmina, the vice-chief of the Kitsune Hamlet, who kept things in order. Though she was much more than that to Kaden; she was someone he held dear in his heart and with whom he would want to spend the rest of his life with.

______________________________
The Kitsune Hamlet was a tiny settlement rumored to inhabit the western mountains of Hoshido -- such rumor had gained momentum especially after the end of the war between the Light and Dark Kingdoms with the marriage of King Ryoma and Princess Camilla.
It was said that the army that fought against the common enemy of the previously warring countries was composed of wolfskin and kitsune both, something that had never happened in recent -- or ancient! -- history. Nevertheless, the fact that the Kitsune Hamlet was no more than a vague mystery despite the kitsune being seen more often after the peace talks was simply because of their unique illusory abilities.
They would hide the mountain in a thick fog; create paths that did not exist or, more often than not, play pranks on the eventual adventurer who tried to go up the mountains in search of their den.
Because of that, although the chief of the kitsune, Kaden, was widely known as a social butterfly, not many humans were seen within the premises of the securely guarded hamlet.
... Though, honestly, most of that had to do with their competent vice-chief, Pashmina, who made sure to strengthen the den's illusions and scolded the foxes who had quite too much fun pranking humans instead of misguiding them back to where they came.
With their contrasting personalities, the duo managed to perfectly balance their views, opinions and protective measures to keep the hamlet hidden and safe. While Kaden built up their connections with useful humans (though mostly by accident while repaying this or that favor), Pashmina worked from the inside to assure the kitsune people a good, stable life.
The war against the Forgotten Dragon hadn't done much damage to the little settlement, since the brunt of the battles that had happened before Its defeat happened in human lands.
Still, many kitsune warriors -- the nine-tails -- joined Kamui's army alongside Pashmina and Kaden, resulting in quite a few regrettable casualties.
The hamlet was small and tight-fitted -- they all considered themselves part of a bigger family -- so it was no wonder that the entire kitsune people mourned their lost ones, resulting in all of them cooperating to aid their immediate families who were deprived of them.
"Phew." Pashmina dried the sweat off of her face with her fur bracer, looking up at the pile of materials she just helped deliver. Many fully transformed nine-tales scurried around, using their larger frames to carry big logs around. Some sprawled themselves around, allowing their humanoid companions to brush the fur they were shedding so it could be used for stuffing the new beds, cushions and even making new brushes. "You there, if you are done with the grooming, move to the next one." She pointed to a couple who was taking longer than necessary with the brushing. "We must finish this centre before the rainy season catches us."
"Y-yes, vice-chief!" The adolescent kit yelped, the brush falling from her hand right on her companion's belly.
The transformed fox, startled with the hit, let out a cry and transformed back, quickly sitting up. "I'll help too, vice-chief!"
"Good. Off you go, then." Pashmina's lips curved up slightly, dismissing them with a gesture.
The two quickly ran off with their bushed tails and eager smiles.
Foxes were naturally laid back creatures, so Pashmina's rather strict remarks were an absolute necessity to get any work done, so her work was widely appreciated.
Still with a small smile on her lips, Pashmina's dark, long and fluffy ears picked up a far-off sound of steps, turning to its source before she could turn her head to check.
"Miiinaa!" Kaden called from afar, knowing she would hear even though he was still but a tiny dot in the distance.
The vice-chief snorted as Kaden approached, sprinting towards him to help with the luggage he carried -- there was a basket larger than his shoulders over his head (which he balanced with one hand) and another one between his waist and remaining hand. From the smell, they seemed to be fresh vegetables as Pashmina noted once she was close enough to discern.
"Welcome back, Kaden," Pashmina snorted as Kaden almost lost his balance with the upper basket, quickly putting herself on her toes to take it off of his head. His ears sprung up instantly with the gesture, followed by a vigorous head shaking so as to bring back the sensation to them.
"Phew, ya really saved me there, Mina! Thanks!" He placed the lower basket on the ground with a soft thud, drying the sweat off of his forehead much like how Pashmina had done just a few minutes previous, with the back of his arm.
Still holding the basket, Pashmina brushed her dark, silvery tail on Kaden's, urging him to return with her. "C'mon, we need to take these to the storage lest they go bad."
"Wait, wait, wait!" Kaden grinned widely, shoving his hand inside the basket and retrieving two tasty-looking leeks. "A snack!"
"Oh!" Pashmina's ears and tail perked up, her pupils dilating slightly. Kaden chuckled at her reaction, but when she innocently opened her mouth so he could give it to her, he blushed slightly and hesitated. Tilting her neck towards the unmoving leek, Pashmina raised her gaze to the chief. "Kaden? My hands are kind of full..." She urged him, licked her lips and opened her mouth again.
Gulping, Kaden carefully placed the leek between Pashmina's teeth, who eagerly munched on it slowly. "A-ahem," he cleared his throat before biting his own leek and taking the basket once again, now with both of his hands. "Mowu's fjarm's beally awjome!"
Still with half a leek out of her mouth, Pashmina narrowed her eyes as they resumed the walk back to the settlement. "... Don' jpeak wid your mouf full." She reprimanded, though 80% of the intended intimidation fell flat considering she wasn't following her own advice.
Kaden snorted, holding back a laughter lest he choked. "Dook bho's talking!"
The two quickly munched the sweet, juicy leek that left a delicious aftertaste, making them both carve for more. "Hmmm," Pashmina licked her lips even a few seconds after finishing her portion. "Mozu truly is a genius when it comes to farming."
"Isn't she?! I'm glad she settled down just at the foot of the mountain! Benny's real good with the animals, too, so they don't trample on their stuff like it happens sometimes with the other folks."
"Still, isn't this a bit too much? This can probably feed our entire village for a week if we ration it, so wouldn't it last much longer with only the two of them? Won't it be an inconvenience?" Pashmina huffed, adjusting the heavy basket on her hands.
"Mina, you wouldn't believe the size of that farm! With Mozu's instructions and Benny's muscles, I think they can cover the entire foot of the mountain by the end of the decade!" Kaden's eyes shone. "Besides, she said she supplies other folks' farms, too, so she was actually glad to give us this much!" He hummed happily. "I helped her harvest it all as thanks, so she said we could go back for more later."
"Which we should," Pashmina nodded, the alluring smell of fresh vegetables making her want another snack. She refrained, of course, but she couldn't help but lick her lips again in anticipation.
Noticing her perked up ears and swaying tail behind her, Kaden pressed his lips into a thin line, a slight blush covering his face. "You want another one?" He adjusted the basket on his side, taking two more leeks with his now free hand.
Pashmina's eyes followed every movement he made with them as though under a trance, but quickly cleared her throat and turned back to watch her steps. "... No, thank you. We must prepare well for the rainy season. Besides, the little ones also love to eat these." She smiled softly, almost motherly, making Kaden's heart skip beat.
"M-Mimi!" He blurted out, taking a larger step than her so he could place himself in front. At the mention of her most intimate nickname, Pashmina's ears straightened up in surprise, her bushed tail following suit before deflating in embarrassment, her cheeks flushing slightly.
She poked the tip of her tail on his side, pouting adorably. "I told you not to call me that outside our hut."
As though infected by her embarrassment, Kaden also blushed slightly, "heeheehee, you're so cute when you're shy, Mimi. It's just the two of us here, though, right?" He looked around the deserted outskirts of the hamlet, brushing his silky, fluffy tail on hers.
Her cheeks puffed a little wider, her citrine eyes avoiding Kaden's golden. "Yes, but we're in the middle of something..." Her words contradicted her shy expression, making Kaden's heart beat faster.
"Hhhhng, you're SO cute, Mimi!" He nudged his nose on hers, then kissed her forehead and ears. "... Can I brush your fur later as thanks for helping me with the baskets?"
"...!" Pashmina let out a soundless exclamation of surprise, her entire face down to her neck reddening in embarrassment.
... Kaden never stopped touching her once he started brushing her hair and fur. The intimate brushing would always, always, always evolve to a lot more intimate and inappropriate touching. Knowing full well that that was what he meant, Pashmina's brain short circuited for a second, though the weight of his shameless yet shy gaze managed to bring her back to her senses.
"A-ahem," she cleared her throat, lifted her chin and resumed her walk. "... If you do what you have to do first, then yes." Her voice got lower and lower until the last word was a simple whisper.
But Kaden's sensitive ears picked it up, of course, and he laughed loudly. "Heeheehee, leave it to me, vice-chief! I'll show you my handsome and flawless work!" He winked and ran ahead of her, putting the basket on his head and holding it with both hands so he could move faster.
A few vegetables fell behind him, leaving a trail. "Hey, you're dropping them!" Pashmina hit her foot on the ground, but Kaden was long gone, leaving her to grumble lovingly under her breath on her own; something about placing his eagerness in more productive stuff.
As the little hamlet was building some sort of social center -- a large hut with many toys, ahem, different facilities inside -- for the families of those lost in war as well as an indoors playing ground for the children during the rainy season, there were many things to prepare.
Every single day was busy, but they were all looking out for each other, so it was fun and fulfilling.
"Huff," Pashmina was the first to retire to her and Kaden's hut, undoing her high, tight bun until her long, raven hair fell across her back. She shook her head to relieve it from the pressure of the hairdo as she looked at herself in the mirror.
Her ear twitched to the entrance as the sound of steps approached, her shoulders immediately sagging.
"Minaa, I brought a new brush!" Kaden barged in with a large grin, "and I just had to give a bit of the fur I was shedding to make another one!" He pointed to the brand new brush in his hands, walking towards his mate with intimacy of a lover.
He wrapped his free hand around her waist as he placed a kiss on the side of her head while she examined the brush on his other hand.
"It is of the finest quality, indeed. But why did you have to pay with your fur for a brush made... with your fur?" She closed one eye as he kissed her temple, his trail of kisses intent on ending on her lips. "H-hey..." She pouted slightly as he continued to smooch her cheeks, the tip of her nose, chin and all around her mouth instead of quickly diving into her lips.
"Mhmm!" Kaden hummed as though he had savored the most delicious meal, "Mimi is cute as always!" He giggled as she opened her mouth to retort, her face painted in red.
"You didn't answer-mmph!" Before she could speak, however, Kaden finally went for the kiss, sucking on her lips and inserting his eager tongue into her mouth right after. "Mhm..." She rolled her eyes with the depth of the kiss, the brush falling on the floor with a dull sound as she wrapped both hands around his shoulders.
Inebriated by how he didn't separate from the kiss and only kept deepening it, Pashmina didn't notice how they were slowly descending to the floor -- Kaden patted it to find the brush before picking her on his arms and heading to the bedroom.
"Eek!" She squealed with the sudden movement, grasping on his clothes for support as he walked the short distance towards the bed on the floor.
"So cute, so cute," Kaden chuckled as he kissed Pashmina's eyebrow, then forehead, then the base of her ears.
"H-hiya...!" Her whole body started as his hot breath reached the sensitive spot of her ears, digging her nails on his back even after he had placed her on the bed.
"It's such a shame you put your gorgeous hair up like that, Mimi," he huffed as he trailed his kisses from her ears to her forehead, then away from her slowly, intent on actually brushing her first.
Panting, Pashmina leaned on the wall as though all strength had left her limp body with the passionate kiss. Kaden's golden eyes glinted with the hidden fire of the predator inside him -- and every kitsune, for that matter -- seeing the tasty, oh so tasty, Mimi right in front of him.
He kissed the tip of her hair as he brushed it softly, looking at her with the melted golden of his eyes. "Turn around, Mimi?" He asked with a smile, though the hunger of his gaze made the vice-chief clutch her chest and huff in response.
Still short of breath, she obediently turned around, sitting loosely over her legs as she exposed her hair and tail to Kaden.
His first touch made her jump a little, but soon he took her hair around his able hands, brushing it carefully. At the tip of her long strands there was her tail, which he massaged carefully, slowly going towards its base, right a bit over her butt.
Once there, he saw how Pashmina covered her mouth with one hand, breathing heavily and squeezing her eyes -- he knew it was a sensitive spot of hers to be caressed at the base of her tail; it always made her entire body shiver and crave for his, so he absolutely loved doing it.
"Mimi, you're so cute I can't stop saying it." He whispered by her cheek, smooching it as he slid his hands under her short sleeves, grabbing her breasts.
"K-Kaden- if you touch me like this, I-" She winced as he ground his fingers on her nipples, still under her kimono, arching her head back towards him.
"Mina, Minaaa, Mimi..." He whispered her name over and over as he tasted the sweetness of her soft skin, slowly opening her kimono to reveal her underwear.
Pashmina dug her claws on Kaden's thighs, which were on either side of her body, as he slowly reached for the inside of her underwear, finding that she was already wet in expectation.
He inserted one of his declawed fingers as he called her name teasingly, making her shiver in pleasure and huff his name lovingly.
"K-aahnden..." She leaned her back on his chest, unconsciously rubbing her tail on his crotch.
"Turn around, Mimi? Lemme see your face?" He took his finger out, sliding his hand to her waist so as to turn her to him -- to turn her adorably embarrassed face to him. She blushed so brightly even a human would be able to see her in the dimly lit room. "So cute, so cute," he finally dove into her lips again, carefully pulling her underwear to the side with one hand.
Feeling the heat enter her body through Kaden's kiss, Pashmina rolled her eyes in pleasure as she felt him release his throbbing erection and rub it against her clit. "...!" She let out a cute squeal under Kaden's relentless kisses, her entire body trembling in wait for him.
She adjusted her legs on either side of his body, rubbing her vulva on his glans while he placed both hands on her hips, slightly pushing her down in his eagerness.
"Mhmmm..." Pashmina bemoaned as she felt him slide inside of her slowly, her busy tongue rolling with his inside her mouth. Once he was fully inside, Pashmina huffed, feeling him rub on her sensitive spot.
Kaden trailed his kisses from her jaw to her neck, sucking on it as he left countless marks and bites. "Mimi, Mimi..." He huffed, moving his hips up and down to rub all the way inside her.
Her mouth now free, Pashmina dug her face into Kaden's neck, her entire body bristling with pleasure. "K-Kaden, you're mhmm... teasing me again..." She cried softly, her body wanting him to move, but his simply rubbing all around inside her instead.
"I can't help, ah, it... Mimi's so cute, I just want to eat you up slowly..." He chuckled as he trailed his hands to the back of her legs, spreading them open in front of him so he could regain more control of the penetration.
Gasping, Pashmina dug her claws on his back, giving herself entirely for him -- he slowly pulled it all out, then shoved back in, enjoying how her entire body trembled with each stroke.
She could feel his entirety inside of her; the hunger of his strangled voice and the teasing of his never ending compliments, making her head spin with embarrassment and pleasure.
She could barely think straight as the fog of climax enveloped her the faster and the deeper Kaden dug into her, making Pashmina squeeze her eyes and let out the most adorable voice; Kaden's most favored voice, in her trance of the climax.
"K-Kadeahnn..." She cried out tears of pleasure, her entire body shaking as he liberated himself inside of her, though she squeezed him so much he could barely move after.
"M-Mimi, how can, hahh, someone so perfect like you exist..." He panted, filled to the brim of love towards his adorable vice-chief. Officially, however, she was the first in command of his heart, mind and body, who ruled over all of his being.
How could he not love and desire someone like her!
"I- ah..." Having difficulty breathing, Pashmina's insides still felt his lingering erection, sucking him in instinctively, "I could say the same to you..."
"M-Mimi!" Kaden felt his erection coming back at full swing, enjoying how she squirmed under him in surprise. "I love you!"

🎾 Reaching Out (Tenipuri) #1: The Twins
Tumblr media
Genre: Friendship, Family, Comedy, Fluff ☁
Word Count: 1,887 ☁
Pairing: OC x ?? ☁
World: Prince of Tennis ☁
Author’s Note: This was written a long time ago and remains as one of my favorite pieces to date. I don’t know if I’ll be completing this series, but I’m still proud of it and want to post what I’ve already written.
━━━━━━༻🌧️༺━━━━━━
Rojo Kira followed the pathway toward the tennis courts in Rikkai Daigaku Fuzoku, the ponk of the balls growing louder with every step she took. School had ended a while ago, leaving only the after school clubs behind. More specifically, the famed tennis club that the junior high students seemed to go nuts over. The high school division had a tennis team, as well, but they didn’t have as much fame as the middle schoolers’ team got. The reason for that was simple. While the middle school did have other sports, tennis was their main one. It was a big deal though, with all the trophies they’ve won, I guess you could see why.
The high school, however, offered more sports, evenly spreading out the student body to cheer for each one equally; not one was more important than the other. Kira wasn’t too sure why it worked out that way, but she summed it up to the fact that high schoolers are more angsty, and need more choices at outlets they can use to vent their frustrations. Middle school was difficult, but nothing compared to high school. It made Kira glad that this was her last year.
One thing Kira had noticed about the fans at Rikkai, was that they were not at all as crazy as everyone believed. Sure, there were a few delusional nut jobs that believed they could win the love of their beloved regular-sama, but most of the kids who cheered and supported Rikkai were doing it because they loved the team and wanted them to win. At Rikkaidai, it was all about rising together as one to annihilate the enemy. It was as simple as that.
Still, Kira thought it a bit stupid to give the regulars so much popularity just because, well, they were regulars. It’s completely pointless, but her opinion didn’t really matter in this case. She did not attend school with them so she couldn’t voice what she thought. And she thanked Kami-sama that she would never have to share a school with them because when they graduate to high school, she’ll be graduating to life.
Kira’s eyes scanned the crowd around and on the tennis courts, searching for a mess of fire-engine red hair that belonged to her younger brother, who was in his second year of middle school. He often stayed behind after school to watch tennis practice, even though he wasn’t part of the team OR the cheering squad. He simply enjoyed watching it. That’s not to say that he didn’t play, but it was on a more hobby basis; it was something he did when he was bored or needed something to pass the time. Really, the Rojo family wasn’t a very sporty family. They loved to watch, but playing one was just too much effort that could be spent sleeping or just lazing around. At least, that’s how the Rojo children are. They can’t be bothered to do anything unless they want to or are ultimately forced into it.
Kira walked up behind her brother, who stood at four ten, and set a hand on his hair, which had recently been dyed. The boy was originally a blonde, but because he wanted to try something different, he somehow managed to convince his mother to let him dye it when he started his second year. Finally, she caved and gave in to his begging – probably just to get him to shut up. It stood out glaringly against his personality. But he had been set on the idea of going with red since the day his big sister came home with blood-red highlights.
Rojo Kaizen looked up at his big sister, his usual bored-calm expression in place. “You’re early, sis.”
“Did you forget? We have to go pick up Kaoru since Ryuuka can’t do it.” She ruffled his already messy hair lightly. “You said you wanted to visit Seigaku again, right? If not, you can walk home with one of the regulars. You said before a couple of them live near us, right?”
“Kirihara-kun does. And I don’t think Sanada-san is too far away, either. But yes, I would like to visit Seigaku. I want to see Eiji-kun again.”
Kira didn’t want to imagine how bouncy and loud the cat-like third year would be when he saw that Kaizen’s hair was about the same shade as his own. She pushed the image away from her mind as she readjusted her bag on her shoulder, leading her brother to the gates. Ryuuka-san, Kira’s stepmother and the twins’ birth mother, was usually the one who went and picked up Kaizen’s twin, who attended Seishun Gakuen in Tokyo, but since she was busy, it was Kira’s job to get him instead. It had been a while since the two had visited Seigaku, so it was questionable how the regulars would react to the pair. Maybe they could slip in and out without being noticed? The pessimistic side of her brain told her not to count on it.
About fifty-five minutes or so later, the pair found themselves entering Seigaku’s gate. No student was in sight, but the sound of tennis balls being hit told them what direction to go in. Like his younger twin, Kaoru liked to watch tennis matches, but he wasn’t on the team himself. He had been asked several times by Seigaku’s team, but he declined each time. He had his sights set on the baseball club, but he had yet to make an effort to join. The twins were a lot alike, especially in looks – the only way you can tell them apart now is by the color of their hair-, and their personalities only differ slightly.
Kaizen was… well, bland for lack of a better word. He always bore the same bored-calm expression, never changing it no matter what situation he was in. He drawled when he talked, always taking on a bored tone. His voice stayed the same pitch, no matter what the situation – the only exception to that is when he’s crying, which isn’t very often. His hair, now an almost blinding red, was short, but his bangs were long, often hanging in his liquid silver eyes, which he had inherited from his mother. Because of this, he often keeps them pinned to the side and out of the way with bobby pins.
Kaoru was quiet. While he often shared the same expression as his brother, it did change. He wasn’t as rude as his younger twin, and was very kind to other people, especially where their feelings were concerned. He was more social, as well, and people seemed to be attracted to him like magnets, even though he doesn’t go out of his way to make bonds with people. He’s a lot more responsible and mature, though he tends to take on too much, and never can stand up and say it for worry that he’ll let someone down. His hair was still the same blonde color that he had been born with, the same length as his brothers, but parted to the side instead of pinned back.
Rojo Kaoru’s eyes shifted to the pair when they approached and he stood up, slinging his bag over his shoulder with a small smile. “Hello, bro, sis.”
“How was school?” Kira asked softly, pushing away a few strands of hair that had fallen out of place. Kaoru was also the weaker of the twins, despite being older. He got sick easily and spent most of his childhood in and out of the hospital. She believed that was the reason behind Kaizen’s distant nature; he had been really scared that he was going to lose his brother.
“It was good. Ryoma-kun nearly got trampled today by fangirls, but thanks to Momo-chan’s quick reflexes, and Inui-senpai’s threats, the fan club retreated back to their respective classes.”
“You’ve never taken anything from that guy, have you?” Kaizen questioned blankly, his bored gaze set on the elder twin.
He quickly shook his head, causing more strands of his blonde hair to cover his eyes, which he brushed away before speaking. “Iie. Oishi-senpai and Tezuka-buchou forbade Inui-senpai from offering his juice to anyone outside the tennis club.”
“I still don’t trust him. You should have a talk with him, Kira-nee-chan.”
“I agree.”
Kaoru’s cheeks tinted pink at the overprotective nature of his siblings, but he couldn’t help the smile that broke onto his lips. “You don’t have to worry, I’ll be fine, really.”
The pair exchanged a look, but before they could say anything else, a loud ‘Hoi! Look, Echizen!’ caught their attention before Kaizen was engulfed by a red blur. He now lay sprawled on the ground with Kikumaru on top of him, arms tight around his neck and cheek rubbing against his own. “Long time no see, Zen-chan!”
“You’re heavy,” he managed out in a bored voice, despite the fact that the wind had been knocked out of him.
“Eiji!” Oishi came rushing over, a panicked look on his face as he ushered the third year off. “Are you okay, Kaizen-kun?”
The red-head nodded, accepting the offered hand.
“You don’t do that to Kaoru too, do you?” Kira questioned, glancing at the boy beside her who had paused in dusting his uniform off. He wanted to know the answer, as well.
“He tries,” Oishi shook his head with a sigh, one hand on his hip. He really was the mother hen of the team. “But Kaoru-kun’s reflexes are pretty impressive. He usually misses and lands on Echizen…”
The elder Rojo locked eyes with the blonde as if to confirm the tale and he promptly nodded, letting her know that it was okay. Even though Kaoru had been with these guys for a year already, she wasn’t ready to trust them just yet, not with her fragile baby brother. And she knew Kaizen felt the same way.
Kikumaru edged his way closer to the blonde, poking his side with a wide grin.
Kaoru took the hint and turned to his big sister, his hands twisting the strap of his bag, a sure sign that he was nervous. “Um… nee-chan?”
“Hmm?”
“Well, Seigaku has a tournament coming up – ”
“The regional tournament!” Momo added in, excitedly.
“ – And I was wondering if, maybe, I could go?”
Kira and Kaizen exchanged another look. “When is it?”
“In a couple of days,” Oishi responded, offering them a small smile. “If you agree, we promise to look after your brother.”
“What do you think?” Kira asked the red-headed twin, who simply shrugged in reply.
“Your call.”
Kira adapted a blank look as she surveyed the blonde. She could tell with one look that he really wanted to go, but he wouldn’t argue if she told him no – that was Kaizen’s job, not his. “Alright. But we’ll be going, as well.”
“Thank you, nee-chan!” Kaoru smiled greatly, wrapping his thin arms around her waist. She returned the hug, patting the top of his head.
“Well, if you’ll excuse us. Ryuuka-san is probably waiting for us by now.” Kira nodded to the group before turning and heading toward the entrance – or in this case, the exit. Kaizen said nothing, turning around to follow the older Rojo, while Kaoru bid his goodbyes before running after the pair.

Lords and their Knights: When FE Chivalry Goes Gay
@mwritesink prompted me to write about my favorite tropes in FE and how they evolved over the course of the series. I already crossed a few others off in an earlier post, but this one is a particular favorite of mine where M/M romance in this series is concerned and one I felt had enough examples to constitute a piece of its own. Let it not be said that this is merely the gay variation on the well-worn heterosexual romance trope of a lady and her knight (ex. Eirika/Seth), because negotiating the fundamental power imbalance in this type of relationship takes on different dimensions when both parties are male. I draw a closer comparison to courtly love, which in the traditional sense is also socially transgressive (being adulterous) and not consummated via marriage or other public means...which in FE terms means an S support and possibly a eugenics baby. A vassal in love with his lord rather than his lord’s wife is not only cutting the female intermediary out of what can already be a very homoromatic scenario, but it’s directly tangling together a kind of martial romantic love and ideas about what knighthood/vassalage even is or ought to be - two topics FE loves to explore. I’ve therefore compiled a few of the most notable examples of this trope across the series to talk about in more detail, because if one is willing to be liberal with subtext there’s surprisingly quite a few to pick from.
(And yeah, this is also in part because I like hot rich men who take orders, and this series already has plenty of gay or otherwise ambiguously non-straight mages, thieves, archers, and their ilk without my help.)
The Sad Gay Knight: Quan/Finn
This one I’ve talked about before in a fair amount of depth, from my hopes for how a Genealogy remake will treat Finn to speculation on just what Quan got out of this relationship besides a devoted retainer and (we may assume) a nice piece of ass. The summary here is that Finn’s love for Quan supersedes anything he’s shown to feel for any of the various women he can hook up with and quite frankly astonishes in its ramifications for the future of Leonster and Thracia as a whole. It’s poignant, adulterous (but Ethlyn’s probably ok with it?), and messy as all hell once you factor in whatever’s up with Glade and whatever Lachesis wasn’t feeling about the whole situation. It is also, naturally, very sad; Finn loses his lord when he’s only around eighteen, and with their kingdom collapsing around him and the entire continent consumed by war he dedicates the next twenty years of his life to raising Quan’s son to be the king Quan himself had wanted to be. And for all his labor he apparently derives no lasting satisfaction, spending his epilogue wandering around the Yied desert and at last returning only to (possibly) pen the history he’s helped to make.
Finn is the embodiment of knighthood loyal unto and beyond death, and that paired with all the romantic and erotic subtext surrounding the two of them - Finn as Quan’s treasured favorite, his catatonia after Yied, the obsessive polishing of the brave lance that Quan gave to him, his inability to satisfy women in some vague way - makes them the defining example of this trope in Fire Emblem. I look forward to seeing how remakes will handle them; Finn’s presentation in Heroes is definitely cause for hope there. As for the issue of yet another story in media of gay men beset by tragedy and death, I did draw up a long headcanon on the technically crack pairing of Diarmuid/Tristan that specifically plays into the lord and knight trope while also allowing Finn a chance to pass his experiences on to a later, happier generation. IS is free to take notes, just saying.
Pretty Blond Twinks and the Men Who Love Them: Perceval/Elffin and their lasting influence
Moving on from Jugdral, I’ve got to say that I’ve really been sleeping on the original gay Elibean duo. Before Raven and Lucius (but chronologically after, because these games are out of order) there was another feminine young man with long blond hair beloved of a severe-looking warrior. Binding Blade gives us the bard Elffin, who in another life was Etruria’s Prince Mildain and Perceval’s liege. The Knight General takes Mildain’s alleged accidental death about as well as Finn takes the death of his lord and lady; he turns grim and humorless, and without a dying dream to guide him he follows the command of the corrupt revolutionary faction of Etruria with little protest. It takes learning that Mildain is alive and in Roy’s army for Perceval to drop the halfhearted Camus routine and switch sides, and the strength of his fealty not to his nation or even to his king but to the prince he’d thought dead is absolutely touching in the moment not to mention incredibly useful since the guy is one of FE6′s best units.
Binding Blade doesn’t give anyone but Roy and his harem paired endings, but there’s still a fair bit to be gleaned from their support lines, both what is in them and what isn’t. Perceval and Elffin each have supports with women, but nothing remotely romantic - Perceval’s support with Larum is particularly amusing since he clarifies that her, ahem, dancing does nothing for him. Also worth noting is that neither of them can support with Clarine, even though one would think they’d make fine romantic choices for her given their statuses and physical resemblances to her beloved brother. Their own support line is quietly intimate. Elffin has changed since his near-death experience, and Perceval is still struggling to accept that their relationship can’t be as it was, that in fact for the time being they can’t now be a knight and his prince. Perceval also frets over Elffin’s refusal to see his father the king, and he later extracts a promise from Elffin to come home to Etruria after he’s done traveling the world as a bard, in one of the series’s several instances of writing what sounds like a marriage proposal in ambiguous terms. Per Elffin’s ending, he’s only gone for a few months after the war, so their promised reunion isn’t long delayed. I’m interested to see what a remake would add to their relationship, because as it stands Perceval/Elffin has an established romance arc that deserves a paired ending or at the very least more suggestive epilogues.
Further compounding their underrated signficance, it’s not too difficult to trace a line from Perceval/Elffin to a number of other M/M pairings in the two later GBA games and in Tellius that present some variation on this theme:
As mentioned above, Raven/Lucius is physically similar and performs a nearly identical gameplay function, with the pretty blond waif again responsible for recruiting his surly but protective boyfriend from the ranks of the enemy.
Gerik/Joshua meanwhile borrows the character of the end of their support line and turns it into a genuine paired ending, with a prince incognito recruiting a swordsman to come work for him. They being who they are however, it’s all handled a bit rougher, with Gerik being impressed by Joshua’s “swagger.” Take that as you will.
Ike/Soren may be the defining seme/uke dynamic in Tellius’s overflowing fount of queer subtext, but Tibarn/Reyson smashes that trope together with this one and FE’s power couple unit archetype plus a dash of whatever the avian equivalent of furries is for wholly unique results. Although both of them are technically royalty, only Reyson is a prince by heredity whereas Tibarn presumably became king of Phoenicis by beating the crap out of any rival contenders as most laguz prefer to do. One can therefore read shades of a courtly relationship in Tibarn’s decision to zealously take up the cause of justice for the Serenes massacre in Reyson’s place. Combine this with Reyson’s characteristic edge that even Tibarn is forced to rein in at times and their relationship comes off as surprisingly more egalitarian than the sum of its parts. Oh yeah, and blond waif dancer + premade OP unit with ludicrous physical stats and movement again.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the conflict of the Tellius games Zelgius -> Sephiran explores what would happen if a gay Camus archetype chose instead to dedicate himself to an antagonistic lord. Sure, you can still recruit Sephiran via a convoluted and unintuitive process, but Zelgius is doomed no matter what.
They Can Say It, But They Can’t Do It: Awakening and Fates
Ugh. If I must....
I’ve made no secret of my ambivalence toward FE13 dragging the series into open acknowledgement that same-sex attraction is a thing that exists, handled as it was with a lot of explicit homoerotic denial and an assortment of cheap gay panic jokes and...whatever the hell Victor and Vincent are supposed to be. Chrom/Frederick, hot though it may potentially be in fanon, is one of those jokes, making a parody out of a knight enamored of his lord and leaving it to mean absolutely nothing since Awakening’s relationship endgame is invariably S supports for time traveling eugenics babies. FE has taken cracks at the overly dedicated knight before - see just about everything involving Kieran from Tellius, up to and including his overzealous devotion to his superior officer - but Awakening plumbs the depths of Frederick expecting Chrom’s nude image to raise the army’s morale. Just..what do you even say to that, apart from the awkward sputtering that comprises most of their support line?
FE14, for all its stumbling steps toward something less completely offensive, fares little better in this particular regard. Leo/Niles is a deeply troubled albeit thought-provoking callback to the subtextual lord/knight relationship, one where it’s hard to imagine them finding a healthy way to navigate the power differential. Then there’s Ryoma/Saizo. It’s nothing special in localization, but the never-localized festival DLC involves Saizo’s ardent desire to warm Ryoma’s clothing in his cleavage. That sounds like absolutely normal behavior for a servant and not a rehash of Frederick’s shenanigans, uh huh. Fates may indeed be said to be slightly better about playing palpable homoerotic tension for drama rather than comedy...but only slightly.
Paving the Way for an OT3: The Deliverance
This is, incidentally, yet another reason to appreciate Echoes for doing so much to redeem the 3DS games in the realm of (male) queer content. Yes, there’s a large and unaddressed divide between the openly gay and very modern Leon and the heavily subtextual faux-historical queerness of the Deliverance, but taken independently the two presentations work for what they’re each separately aiming to be. Among Clive’s gay entourage are not one but two men who’d dearly love to be the knight to his lord, and Forsyth’s strong desire to put Clive on a pedestal evokes the earlier spoofs of this kind of relationship precisely because Forsyth is that kind of vassal, the kind that would read Ribald Tales of the Faith War and cry like a heavily erect virgin bottom getting his first taste of dick at the brief interludes of tender manly love between Quan and Finn. He’s played for comedy just as much as Kieran or Frederick are, and yet Echoes comes across as less down on the concept as a whole for several reasons, being that
1) Python’s snark over Forsyth’s attraction to both Clive and Lukas is genuinely funny, much more so than when it’s the object of these affections quietly groaning his way through them,
2) Lukas is also there, and his desire to be Clive’s beloved knight is not played for comedy at all but is allowed to be unrealistic and unsatisfying because Clive will never get it,
3) everyone wants to screw Clive for some reason, not just his subordinates but also his sister and the estranged BFF who dies in his arms...and the guy is shown to be unworthy of all of them, and
4) all the characters involved are allowed other avenues for romantic attraction outside of a lord who’s just not that into them. Forsyth has Python, Lukas has both of them as friends and possibly more later, Clair has Gray (...at least he’s not her brother?), and Fernand has a bad rebound that goes to hell in the manner of Zelgius and Sephiran but at least ends with him getting to reconcile with his former friend before he dies.
The setup for the Deliverance’s overarching queerness is a bit strange as it rests on all these characters somehow finding Clive attractive, but nonetheless it makes for an unexpected and refreshing critique of the lord and knight trope, given a situation where the lord just isn’t that into it and in fact doesn’t seem to realize that he can be into it. It’s a good reminder that this isn’t a particularly good dynamic for a stable and lasting relationship, and that as hot as it can be it takes more than impassioned one-way devotion to make it work in the long term.
The good news if you’re into this kind of relationship like I am is that it’s a trope with some life in it yet. Echoes came at it strong, and prerelease information on Three Houses suggests a few possibilities for this dynamic in that game. I’m especially keeping my eye on Dimitri and Dedue, whose relationship appears to contain echoes of the original duo of Quan and Finn. I highly doubt there will be anything on the level of S supports acknowledging this type of attraction, but I’ll settle for some suggestive A supports.

Can you please do some headcanons on how the V3 cast reacting to Kaede being mute? Like her childhood she received damage to her vocal cords.
Note: Whenever I use ‘disability’ I’m not trying to use it as a slur or anything like that, I simply mean it in a way that she is set back from everyone else because she’s mute, you know? Not trying to offend anyone. :)
The V3 Cast Reacting to a Mute!Kaede Akamatsu!
Kaedewas always insecure about being mute. Sometimes, she wishes she could talkbecause then her life would be much simpler.
Then she could do all the things she wanted to and she’d feel more normal.
Unfortunately, she can’t. She received a sport’s injury when she was ayoung child which damaged her vocal cords beyond repair. That’s a big reasonwhy she gave up sports and started pursuing music, specially the piano, instead.
Like every time she moves into a new class, she is hesitant. Kaede can’t do thestandard “tell us about yourself” routine and she always fears being rejected.
But for the most part, her new class was quite understanding and accepting.
She became fast friends with the Detective named Saihara Shuichi – mainly becausethey both seemed like outcasts, different than the rest. He understood and related to her on a levelthat most people cannot.
He also took up learning Sign Language so that he could more easily understand what she wastrying to say. However, Kaede most often communicated through notes and facialgestures rather than using her hands.
Saihara sympathized with the poor girl and warmly welcomed her with big, openarms. They spoke through silent smiles and blushes, and he always seemed toknow what she was trying to say.
His friends also became close with her, though he didn’t have many. Kaede gotto know each of them well.
There was Kaito, who was a bit blunt at first. He didn’t fully understand whyshe wasn’t talking until Saihara explained it to him, and then he felt likeshit.
Kaito sometimes forgets and tries having a verbal conversation with her, beforequickly correcting himself and apologizing. He isn’t as supportive as Saiharasince he can still be a little bit oblivious at times, but he really does try hisbest with her. He has good intentions but often comes across as the opposite.
He’s never met a mute person but he keeps an open mind and takes her under his wing, involving her in things like working out and other things his and Saihara’s friend-group often do. Kaito made her feel at home.
Maki, like Saihara, related to Kaede and welcomed her but kept her at the samedistance as everyone else; Kaito was still the only person she softened uparound, and Kaede’s mute situation wasn’t going to change that.
The girls still got along, though! Maki also seemed to always know what she wastrying to say and she quickly became the person Kaede went to for girl-advice.Maki became the female that she was closest to and she never tried to pushKaede’s limits.
And finally, there was Rantaro, who seemed to have a bit of an attraction toKaede. Whether it be romantic or platonic, she wasn’t sure, but Rantaro wasdrawn to her from the very moment they first met.
He was very open-minded and understanding of her situation, and he loved receiving hand-written notes from her. Rantaro becomes very protective of Kaede – those brotherlyinstincts kicked in and, due to her muteness and disability, he vowed to watch over her.
And that he did: he always checks up on her and passes her cute little notes inclass. He does his best to make her feel welcomed at Hope’s Peak. Rantaro caresfor Kaede, even more than Saihara on most days, and on a much deeper level. She considers him to be one of her very best friends.
Outside of that little group, everyone seemed to treat her differently, but not necessarily in a negative way – those wereher just main friends. Everyone else, for the most part, seemed to be kind towardsher.
There was Ouma Kokichi who teased her for a while. It came across as rude and impolite but in reality, he was trying to use humor to deflate the situationbecause… that’s just what he does.
Ouma still sometimes made off-comments towards Kaede. She never took it toopersonally, but sometimes he stepped over a boundary.
Deep down, though, Oumawas compassionate and felt for her, only playfully teasing the girl because he wasn’tgoing to treat her differently based on her muteness.
“Sooo, Kaede, are you gonna talk today or not?” Almost every day; it slowly became an inside joke.
Kiibo was someone who didn’t seem to fully understand her issue. I mean, he isa robot so he has a reason, but he couldn’t wrap his head around it. Humanscould be weakened and their lives altered forever from an injury? That was sucha weird concept to him.
But Kiibo tries to not let his ignorance get in the way. Like Kaito, hesometimes forgets.
Plus, since he can’t relate to her in the same way that humans can, he sometimes comes across as rude but that’s unintentional. Kiibo is just trying to understand her and does his best to support her. He actually wants to be really close friends, and the two surprisingly get along since they’re both misfits.
And Gonta is the same way. It took Kaede a few tries to explain to him why sheis mute. Gonta kept asking her, “Why not just explain? With words?” It actuallymade Kaede smile because she knew that he was genuinely just concerned andconfused.
After he finally got it, with the help of Kirumi explaining it to him, Gontafelt really bad for her and kept saying he wished he could help somehow, eveninsisting that he would take away her pain if he could… with different words ofcourse.
Gonta really became close with her. He always asks her how she is andif her voice is any better, in which she always says no but thanks and hugs himanyway, appreciating the concern. Gonta likes to think he’s helping in some way.
Then there were girls like Himiko and Angie.
Himiko tried coaxing Kaede into letting her test out restoration and healingmagic on her to get her voice back and repair her vocal cords, but the Pianistkindly refused. She didn’t really believe in the whole ‘magic’ thing.
The smaller girl never let up though, bugging Kaede and telling her that she’dbe the perfect test subject and that nothing could go too terribly wrong.
“I’venever tried a healing spell before, never had someone to do it on. C’mon,Kaede!”
And Angie went a similar route, but instead her thing was that Atua could helpheal her. Again, Kaede declined and Angie was a bit hurt but still pursuedKaede in bringing her into her religion.
Either way, both girls were very understanding about her condition and despitetheir efforts, never tried forcing her to do something she didn’t want to. Theywere respectful and remained acquaintances at most but only wanted to help her in the ways they knewbest.
Tenko was the same way but she was a bit more hesitant around Kaede. She likedher, and was kind towards her, but she feared that she would accidentally hurtKaede somehow and possibly further her injury which is something she reallywanted to avoid.
But still, Tenko was always really empathetic towards her. The things she was tryingto say often went over Tenko’s head and she usually misinterpreted Kaede butwas still as understanding as could be.
She also was concerned with who injuredher and how, because if it was some… male, then she would definitely get somerevenge.
Kaede calmed her nerves. Tenko kept her distance from Kaede apart from kindgreetings and friendly exchanges occasionally out of hesitation, though.
Another person that often distanced themselves from her was Ryoma. He simply didn’tfeel like he would be able to help her or be there for her in the way sheneeded, and she was already receiving that kind of attention from folks likeSaihara and Rantaro.
He was friendly, but Ryoma was naturally a cold person. He did his best tosympathize with her problem but never truly pursued a real friendship.
If she tried communicating with him, he would respond and Ryoma wassurprisingly very understanding and good and deciphering what she was saying, but he simply didn’t think he was “fit” for her. However, he’s like this withmost people so she didn’t really take it personally.
Kirumi was very parental with her. She often took care of Kaede, not in the protectiveway that her close friends did, but rather checked up on her to make sure shewas okay, like a mom would. Kirumi gave her extra attention because she has aided mute people before.
She was one of the only people, other than Rantaro, Maki, and Saihara, whonever tried to outright force her to talk. Kirumi respected that she was muteand knew the extensive damage that vocal cord injuries carry and geared herselfto look after her peer.
Their relationship was mainly surrounded by that fact. Kirumi was very formalwith her and often acted as a translator if her friends weren’t around. Herheart really went out to Kaede and she wanted to do the best she could to makeher time in their class as smooth and easy as possible.
There were some others on the opposite end of the spectrum, like Miu, who didn’trespect her as much. She kept bothering Kaede about wanting to hear her voice, and though Miu didn’t really mean it in a harsh way, that’s how she cameacross. It was that she was just really curious because she has never met amute person before.
Miu related muteness to quietness and sometimes mistook Kaede for just beingshy. It took her several months to finally come around and realize that that’sjust not the case.
She tried creating inventions to help her talk but Kaede didn’t really wantthat, and a lot of those inventions ended up not working anyway.
She also triedto translate but was wrong the majority of the time, interpreting her words asmuch more sexual, blunt, and jarring than what they truly were… with lots ofswearing added.
Needless to say, Kaede communicated with Miu mainly through notes from that pointon.
Some of her classmates didn’t really come around for a while, either, likeKorekiyo and Tsumugi.
Korekiyo didn’t start associating with Kaede at first because he wasn’t surehow to communicate with her and he didn’t want to seem rude or disrespectful. He did a lot of research about muteness and vocal cord injuries before heactually tried to form a friendship.
She was very understanding and he was very respectful. Korekiyo had a lot ofquestions about her life and her injury which she kindly answered. Once he camearound, he was fascinated by Kaede. He found her to be inspiring.
She easily could go to a school or join a class for mute kids, but she didn’t –and he thought that was extremely beautiful and admirable. Korekiyo held her ata high standard and really supported her in the end.
And Tsumugi was a bit uncomfortable, not knowing how to approach her at first. She didn’t want to be overbearing but also didn’t want to put Kaede on apedestal for something she can’t control.
The Cosplayer slowly but surely settled into her new classmate, and likeKorekiyo she had a lot of questions. She came across as more uninformed but Kaededidn’t think it was a very big deal.
Tsumugi liked Kaede and just didn’t really grasp the extent of her situation.Still, she was as respectful as could be towards her but the two never really got close.Once again, they were friendly enough but never got too familiar with oneanother.
Overall, her class accepted her for who she was and saw her as a real humanbeing and not just ‘The Mute Girl.’
She was closer to some more than others, but she loved them all the same. Shehas never felt more welcomed or loved in another class. They all, for the mostpart, seemed to understand her and support her. No one ever tried forcing heror made her too uncomfortable.
That’s all Kaede could really ask for.

Ahh, this blog is my life hhhh NDRV3 boys trying to braid their Fem! s/o’s hair, please?! It’s just because I’m a sucker for Kaito
YES!! I AM SO ON BOARD
Tumblr media
This is what I’ve been missing in my life.
I’m very glad to hear you’re enjoying the blog! Though I’m sorry you gotta put up with my writing-I’ll just post this now before I go to sleep as an apology for making y’all wait for so long!!

NDRV3 Male Cast trying to braid their Fem!S/o’s hair
Shuichi Saihara
Silence. He says nothing; he’s too busy concentrating on the parted sections of your hair.
He’s very careful not to pull or tug on anything that’ll lead to your distress. Which sounds sweet but he’s acting as if one mishap could lead to you shattering like glass.
He has no idea what he’s doing. There’s a reason why he likes keeping his hair short and not needing to style it. And the fact that he’s attempting a classic french braid isn’t helping at all. That’s what he thought you wanted, so he’ll do his best.
But is now lost in the strands of flaking hairs that just won’t stay put. “How do girls do this every day?” He now feels like girls are some superior being. He had no idea how difficult this was to do, “And you have to do this by yourself!?”
He asks so many questions, from “Is this okay?” to “This doesn’t hurt, does it?” and of course, “It’s not too tight, right?”
His fingers get tangled in your locks countless times during the entire venture. All you can hear coming from him is an amalgamation of winces and apologies.
And by the end of it, you’re given a sloppy, french braid that looks to be like you’ve slept in it for two days straight.
He’s apologizing profusely.
K1-B0
He insists you let him braid your hair. As long as you’re willing to, of course. He would appreciate the experience and chance to experiment.
If you offer to help or explain the basics he stops you short, informing you that he came prepared and has downloaded and analyzed many tutorials prior to this session.
He even asks what kind of braid you would like, even though he would like to attempt several.
Depending on how much static your hair collects, his electric-circuiting shocks you a few times.
It’s not unyielding irritating, more like an electrified jolt that pulses through your scalp and down your spine.
It’s a little relaxing after you get used to the feeling.
He takes his time and is acting very nonchalant about it.
It’s his first time trying this, he’s never had any previous experience. But you’re surprised to see it’s reasonably neat, nowhere near professional though, but considering the struggles he encountered using his stiff robotic hands, he didn’t do such a terrible job overall.
Before you have a chance to look at the entire finished product or even thank him, he’s untying your hair and brushing through it to try again.
You better grab out something to keep you busy. You’re going to be here for a while…
Kaito Momota
Either of you could have suggested the idea really, but after seeing how pretty you looked in braids he wanted to give it a try.
He’s a little rough but isn’t exactly ripping out chunks of hair, just indirect tugging here and there that makes your head sway in all directions.
His hands are fumbling and he’s so confused. Your hair keeps tangling within itself somehow and he’s not helping the situation with the loose grip he has on the sections of your hair.
At some point, he started sticking his tongue out of his mouth with the amount of focus he was putting on such a small task.
He even struggles with finishing the hairstyle. Yes, he continued until the last strands of your hair slipped right off his hands and ruined the whole braid. He was so close to finishing it too.
He’s a little annoyed since the two of you have been sitting here for almost an hour. Which was mostly him trying to figure out how to braid hair without any tutorials…he was beginning to get the hang of it. And proud of that too.
So proud, in fact, he tries again, brushing through your hair with his fingers, whether you try to persuade him to use a brush or not, he claims one of his most repetitive lines: “Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars, doesn’t need a brush OR tutorials!”
You must admit his energy and attitude towards what can be a tedious and annoying chore at times, is very cute, and admirable in a way. So you let him have his fun.
Even if he turns your once luscious and unique hair features into something that could be mistaken for a bird’s nest. He’s too much of an adorable dork for you to stay or get mad at. Just admit it.
Rantaro Amami
He knows a few tricks about braiding hair. He was never any good at formal braids but could basic and fishtail braid like a (not-self-proclaimed) pro.
It’s due to his 12 sisters who insisted him, specifically, do their hair for many years. Since he was closest to his sisters in comparison to his half-brothers.
So he’s decently confident with his skills and is sure he’d be able to style a braid in a way to compliment your features.
He gathers a few accessories to add to the mix or aid him in this quest. From bobby pins to decorative clips, he’s got some ideas already festering in his mind.
He brushes out your hair carefully and almost pampers you through the entire crusade as if you were in an overly affectionate beauty salon. Having placed you on the floor with him behind, you should have known some cuddles and kisses would happen eventually.
He’s very calm while piecing your hair together in two, over-the-shoulder fishtail braids. Talking to you like he normally would since it’s almost become a second nature for him to multitask like this.
When he’s finished… Well, you react to the braid however you do, but as much as you might hate to admit it, he does a better job at braiding then you do.But with added accessories accustomed to your skin-tone, preferences and physical features of course it looks pretty! Prettier then it probably should!
Kokichi Oma
He’s seen couples in relationships do this for fun online. You already know he wants to try it for himself.
He doesn’t even notify you of it happening. All you were doing was minding your own business and like a beauty ninja, he’s sitting behind you and brushing your hair thoroughly before parting it into sections…more than three sections at that.
If you dare question it… “Nee-hee-hee~ No peeking, S/O! My talents don’t just end with being an Ultimate Supreme Leader, y’know?” …or even try to get anything out of him about what he’s doing or plotting there’s no chance he’s going to spill. And if he were to, how can you be sure he’s not lying?
So whether you give in or are too stubborn he plays hard to get. “Geez S/O~ If you’re gonna react like that, what’s the point?” And after reacting however you do… “O-KAY~ You’ve persuaded me!” (Literally however you react, whether you remain silent, make a fuss, apologize, get flustered or death glare the brat with a ‘I’m-not-putting-up-with-your-shit-ouma-and-you-know-it’ attitude… god does he loves messing with you)
He’s not the most gentle about it. And you can feel a weight growing above your head…yeah maybe it’s not the best idea to let Kokichi try to braid your hair…
If you try to get a glimpse of him, he’s wearing one of those terrifying smiles that screams devil’s child.
He whines that you were trying to peek and is forced to start again. Blaming you. It’s entirely your fault. Sigh.
When he’s finally done messing with you, you finally get to see he decided to give you a waterfall twist braid. How he has the skills to do this is beyond you.And cough he may or may not have been googling how-to-braid the entirety of the previous night OR been practicing on himself cOUGH.
Korekiyo Shinguji
He’s surprisingly good at braiding hair. He’s had experience styling his own hair in the past. Whether it be for the sake of art, beauty, creative mind, experience or an understanding.
And from the fashion research he’s done in the past about human’s and their trends…let’s just say he knows a lot of different styles and techniques.
He asks if you had a preference and if not he will happily give you a style that will suit your face and frame.
He asks you to wash your hair before hand to get the best experience and outcome from this, whether you go through with this or not is all up to you.
And thanks you for the opportunity to braid someone else’s hair for once.
He takes quite a long time to prepare your hair. Brushing through it at least a few 10 times and clipping away parts he doesn’t wish to get in the way.
He has to pause during the session multiple times to take notes. On how you react, to how it feels being on his end, he even asks you questions during moments of massaging your scalp, tugging on the strands and so forth. “It’s for research, S/O. A passionate Anthropologist must get accounts from those within society to get a better outlook of the entire spectrum. And since this is a rare encounter I must document every precise detail.”
When he finally gets along with it, he doesn’t struggle as much as you’d think through his bandages. Over the years he’s grown accustom to their feel and how to utilize his senses.
It takes time, since he wanted to test his skills (and take so many notes). But once he’s finally finished and your neck and back are killing you from resting in the same position for over an hour. He outdid his previous attempts at braiding and gave you an inverted fishtail braid.
Ryoma Hoshi
How you got him to do this. I don’t know. But he’s braiding your hair anyway. Well done S/O.
He goes with the simple and standard braid. Whether he intended for it to be loose is for him to know and only him.
You have to do most of the work, like combing your hair. And while he doesn’t know why you want him to do this, he goes along with it anyway. Eventually confessing “It’s things like this I missed while in prison.”
Admittedly he enjoys fiddling with you locks. It’s a strange sensation he hasn’t really experienced since he prefers to keep his hair extremely short.
He goes silent at some point. You didn’t for the room to go quiet, but really he almost gets lost in the feeling of your strands of hair. You wouldn’t know it of course. The expression he’s gained after many years of enduring what happens within the walls of a prison has made it so he’s unreadable.
But the fact that it takes him about 30 minutes to give you a three strand braid gives away how much he was enjoying pampering you in such a way.
He’s talking himself down again, unsure why you wanted this in the first place.
But it looks nice. The amount of looseness around the back of your neck makes it feel like it’s not even there. It’s comfortable and because it’s tied together won’t get knotted or caught on anything.Oh and! It perfectly fits on both of your shoulders and doesn’t irritate your beck at all! Ifitslongenoughofcourse seriously, love this boy!
Gonta Gokuhara
He doesn’t know what he’s doing. You might think he would…but there’s a reason why his hair is so…natural.
His robust hands don’t help the situation either. He’s struggling to traditionally braid your hair. And apologizes for the amount of times he needs to start all over again.
Eventually he settles with giving the hair around your ear special attention and gives you a small braid that almost blends into your hair.
He asks so many questions. To keep a conversation going and to know what you would prefer.
He decides to add in some flowers he recently picked in the meadow. Just so the braid appears more apparent drowned in your locks.
He’s very new to this, so please have patience with him. He’s very glad you suggested this. And what kind of gentlemen would deny a lady of such a lovely wish?
It doesn’t take him long to finish the single braid. And he’s so happy with the end result. But the fun isn’t over yet. He gets a little carried away with tucking in pieces of flowers and natural greenery.
He wants to try again. He’s so eager about it too. You’re making him rethink his own hairstyle…maybe the two of you could match? Couples often match with each other, right? He’s not finished btw. practice makes perfect, so you know whenever you want/need your hair braided he’s gonna offer to do it for you.
also since the English localization is popular with a lot of the English fans I’ll just write my future prompts in correlation to the English localization to lower chances of confusion.
Unless some demand the Japanese quirks (Ouma using the honorific ‘chan’ for everyone, the original laughs {i.e Nishishi, Kyah-kyah-kyah, Kukuku}, Tenko’s pun of MENace, Angie/Gonta/Tenko’s speaking mannerisms, etc) feel free to lemme know! I’d be happy to add such details in!especially since the eng localization has been brainwashing me to the point where I almost forgot Tenko’s pun … her PUN

Progress with Haukuoki
So far I've read  Ryouma, Hijikata, Souma, Iba, Yamazaki, Shinpachi, Saito and Okita. I can easily say that Ryouma, Yamazaki,  Shinpachi, Saito and Hijikata are my preferred characters and endings. Hakuoki’s storytelling style might not be my most favourite (i prefer Scarlet Fate) but it delivers several good themes: honour and lack of it and what it means to be a warrior, human nature,  what it means to be different monster theme), the pointlessness of human conflict and futility of empty pride, overambition and greed, transience of life and most endings deliver the message that it’s best to make the most out of the present because you never know what’s happening tomorrow and also that it might be important to know when to stop something because it might be fruitless - all this is achieved thanks to combining supernatural with some historical background. I do not know enough about Japanese history, nor do I understand their culture very well which I think hinders my true enjoyment. But.  Demons and humans, considerations on Shinsengumi and the Meiji Restoration..there is a lot of good material in this game. For an otome, it is equipped with a wide range of characters and routes with mutual help - Mc helps the guy with a problem and is often given something back, not just protection. Sakamoto, Hijikata, for one thing, give her confidence to move past some of the things she dwells on - I like that. I think there’s something for everyone in this game. I also really like that each route is a different angle on one or both of the arcs - Shinsegumi story and demon/fury story which includes characters turning into furies and becoming dead to history - this is why I prefer whole games like this, route-based otomes, especially mobile ones, sorely lack this sort of experience.   i am left with Heisuke, Harada, Sanan and Kazama to read.  Below the cut - some SPOILERS, including some ending CGs that I liked,  as I round up my favourites this far.  Bottom line is - Hakuoki features a good range of otome types and I think the range is wide enough to accommodate a wide variety of preferences.  All images are (c) IDEA FACTORY / OTOMATE.
Sakamoto Ryouma
Is by far my favourite, as I said before the feel of the character and his plot are  well done, very adequate. Like in the drama “Ryoma den”, Ryoma is flamboyant, seemingly carefree but a visionary and fighter. He is open-hearted and flirtatious, pursues the Mc openly but not unkindly. He’s clever.  Moreover. the story has some consequence to the MC's demonic background and past and she recalls some things and Sakamoto, being the great man that he is, is able to help Chizuru the Mc deal with some of her feelings as well and he helps her deal peacefully with Kaoru. Some favourite CGs are in the previous post on Ryoma, so I’ll just add this one. His ending is also well done.  I’m so very pleased with this new route. Oh, and Daisuke Ono was the PERFECT choice for the voice actor.
Tumblr media
Shinpachi Nagakura
He’s a lovely big brother type of character, clumsy but honest and with great will power. This willpower grants him a will to live and will to decline using fury powers - I like that.  he relies on his own strength. Even though his story has little consequence to the MC’s story, I love seeing Shimpachi prove himself to be strong enough to take on Amagiri I like seeing Mc and him travel and one of my favourite parts is when Shinpachi loses his will briefly but MC Chizuru restores it. His ending and ending CG  are just one of the best the CG alone right kind of feelings: peace, tranquillity, looking forward to the future.
Tumblr media
Saito Hajime
His route has some of the most poetic lines. A strait-laced type of guy, he lives for the Shinsengumi, carrying out all orders. A little aloof but never heartless, he doesn’t speak a lot, but once he does, he speaks meaningfully and beautifully. I really like his connection with MC, the lines uttered between them are really beautiful at times. The story is focused on Hajime finding his own purpose and gaining his own footing as a man in his own right, not someone who always blindly follows orders, but his own volition. It has little consequence for the MC’s story and Kazama is at his worst in this route imho but I still think he’s actually a noble demon so i’m leaving his route for last. Saito’s route has a couple new insights to stories surrounding the Shinsengumi arc, including Saito’s own past. My favourite MC-Saito moments include snow bunny, cherry blossom before his departure, then cherry blossom returns again in Edo blossoms and the happy ending. Saito has deep sensitivity. It’s a beautiful, poetic route on many occasions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yamazaki susumu  A very loyal character and I loved his transition to a doctor. He is a man working from the shadows but gradually comes into the light as well.
Tumblr media
Souji Okita
His route is the most vulgar, but I suppose I understand where he’s coming from, what with his illness and a sense of helplessness and uselessness. His route has a lot of consequence for the MC’s demon background arc, though frankly, Kaoru annoys me greatly on this route - he’s a cartoonish, flat villain that could have had a lot more depth - some of that, fortunately, comes out in Sakamoto’s route, otherwise I'd be extremely annoyed.  also, so far this is the ony route where MC goes through the fury thing and Kazama loses interest in her - well-explained why Kazama drops his pursuit here. Okita’s route is about feeling useless due to waning health and finding a purpose despite it all. There are lots of flashbacks to the past with Kondou’s, explaining Okita’s gratefulness towards Kondou - really loved those parts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okita’s at his most handsome in this last Cg. The serious look suits him.
Toshizo Hijikata
The heart of this game, even his demon name has been long decided. The strongest note lies in the fact when Mc first sees him his hair is like floating cherry blossoms....so cherry blossoms will always remind the Mc of Hijikata - Hakuoki. no matter how much time may pass.  The man of steel, demon of Shinsengumi - for what it’s worth the demon part of his notorety is well explained in this route - and mentioned on some other routes too. The route has some really nice lines. He’s stubborn to open his heart, and he is relentles sin his support of Kondou’s ambitions and fighting. But once he opens his heart, he doesn’t let go of the person he lets in. The story focuses a lot on the Shinsengumi part, with little trips towards MC’s background, other than Kazama being the antagonist to Hijikata and one of the better ends for Kodo - he dies protecting his daghter, showing a hint of humanity. Hijikata’s ending doesn't come as any surprise. historically, he died in Hakodate,  in the game he moves beyond that time when he was shot and is granted a little more time with the Mc, but considering he WOULD use his fury powers willingly and at any occasion, it is little wonder how little time he may have left.  It is a poetic, poignant, melancholy but nonetheless sweet ending, one of those that strongly highlights there is no time like the present and it’s important to treasure every moment. But I loved the recognition he got from Kazama as a genuine demon, not a fake- it really was the highest compliment from Kazama. his ending is bittersweet - sweet but short-lived and it has a lovely Cg., I also like the CG of the ending to  Tokyo winds. One of my favourote parts, other than recognition from Kazama is also when hijikata tells Mc never to bend down if she believes she is right and then when Mc returns to him in Edo blossoms after 3 months.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kondo
for me this Cg speaks for itself, Plenty of characters develop Kondo’s backstory to make him close to me as a player of the game, and this Cg is the sum of the despair and all the feelings around Kondo.
Tumblr media
the demons - Amagiri is my favourite, he as a strong sense of justice. Kazama... I really think he is noble, albeit selfish and does not condone Kodo’s actions but I need to read his route to determine my final oppinions, His behaviour on most routes ranges from atrocious (Saito’s route) to pretty restrained when he loses interest. will see what comes out in his route for me. Shiranui is crazy but I think, from my playhtrough of original Hakuoki (which was a long time ago) he is Harada’s antagonist, and I think they match. He helps Ryoma on his route. The demons really aren;t bad sort and I like them a lot. Sen is also a great supporter.
Souma Kazue -  His route does offer a good story of perseverance and resolve to become stronger. He is also the last witness to how Shinsengumi story ends, the last stand of Shinsengumi and as such he is a very important addition to the cast of characters; his personal ending was very nicely done and I liked it.   I do like this CG as a representation of what had ensued, why it is important and what follows. Lost in thought, Souma welcomes the new day with a heavy heart. He has chosen to assume responsibility as a warrior whose code of honour he upholds.
Tumblr media
The only reason I am not super crazy about him is that his not my preferred character type. I tend not to like kouhai characters and he is a respectful lackbeard kouhai  - he lacks presence and charisma and is a little babyish, which is totally not what I like. Dishevelled is a good look on him, though.
Iba Hachirou
A refined childhood friend who is is subjected to certain  test of character. The route is of consequence to the MC’s story as a demon and MC’s past, there is a lot here, The plot is that Iba  gets a demon’s hand because of a conflict with another Shinsgumi ex-captain fury - Takeda-, loses his hand and is granted a demon replaced by Sen - because she likes his resolve to protect Chizuru.  The hand does weird things to him though, it makes him crave the MC because the demon feels attraction to the female demon - Chizuru. It was a little unsavoury for me, the sexual fantasies, I really do not like such things, even though the plot makes sense: to have Iba, an upstanding gentleman, struggle and test his genteel character and resolve.
Moreover, it makes sense that it’s Iba, not anyone else- because that way he gradually becomes a monster and even a demon, and Chizuru in their childhood was called a monster. It is thought out, but I wish there was more focus on the psychology of it,; I felt it was glossed over in favour of the unsavoury parts. Well, Iba wins and is recognized for his integrity by the demons but I just didn’t like the unsavoury parts.   Also, Takeda is such a flat, cartoonish, unsavory villain, annoying.  I have nothing against Iba himself, he is soft-spoken, refined, honourable and appealing all in all and has a steel resolve too but he can be a little too much at times, too - not my favourite type and I   would have preferred they came up with different sort of development  maybe a different sort of trial = because the demon's hand thing was a turnoff for me, a big one. But the idea in itself has merit - this test of Iba\s character and I liked that it mixed in more of the demonic context,  Iba is a nice character that goes through a major trial of his nature and there were some new insights and angles on this route. Well, I don’t dislike this at all, it’s just the plot was unsavoury for me at times. But I do like his bond with MC, and I like his friendship with the Shinsengumi and how the curse of not being able to meddle in human affairs once he becomes demonic affects him, strengthening his resolve. But yeah, I have a lot of reservations for the plot developments on this route, much as I find Iba quite an appealing addition.
These last two - Iba and Souma are definitely my least favourite routes so far but they do have merits and while I am not crazy about them, I do appreciate them and enjoyed reading them.

Beta AU - Main story: Chapter 2, deadly life (Part 5)
Note of the author: It’s time to end this! And answer the final questions of the trial. Boi this was long. But I’m glad I finished this trial.
Oh and if you’re not comfortable with graphic descriptions of violence, just ctrl+f and put “was dead”. That’s the sign the execution is over.
Chapter 2: The wolf and the lamb - Daily life
...
Shuichi didn’t want to believe this.
“Maki... Even if your target wasn’t Kaede... Why?”
She didn’t respond.
“Hey! I know I’m not exactly innocent in all of this but why?” Miu exclaimed.
“...”
“I think we deserve at least some explanation on your part.” Kirumi said.
“...”
She sighed. “...It’s true. I killed Kaede.” she muttered. “Out of all the people who could have taken the drink it just had to be her- I’m just...”
Her voice cracked. “Why...?”
“Even if your intention was to kill someone else... What pushed you to do this?” Keebo asked.
“I was desperate!” she yelled at him. “My siblings need me! Kaede has family and friends out here waiting for her! I knew she was too pure to try to do anything by herself, even in this situation! She felt so helpless I-” She paused.
“I had to help her. I didn’t want her to get her hands dirty... So I acted alone. I knew she would try to stop me if I told her about my plan. But if I didn’t act quickly someone else would have taken advantage of her kindness and potentially tried to kill her.”
She paused. “... And I ended up killing her. I’m... I’m a monster.”
“... And you didn’t care about who the victim was supposed to be?” Rantaro asked.
She let out a dry laugh. “What’s the use of choosing a victim in the first place? If I won this trial everyone would be dead by now.”
“I didn’t think about it this way...” Kaito looked away.
Miu flinched. This was also what she had in mind when planning the murder.
“But I have to say, there is something wrong in what you said about the killing method.” she admitted.
Shuichi blinked. “Huh?”
“I never knew about Miu’s murder attempt. It was pretty much a windfall. Having someone to blame without even asking for it.”
Miu jumped. “You didn’t know?? But why did you poison the drink then??”
Maki shook her head. “I learned about it at the same time as you all. And the drink was the easiest to sabotage, I saw it in the fridge and it didn’t require me to prepare anything, so that was the best option.”
Rantaro glanced at Tsumugi. “So all of this could have been avoided.”
Tsumugi didn’t flinch. “Don’t look at me like that, it was a theory that could have helped us.”
Miu raised a hand. “No, it’s fine. At least I got this off my shoulders. And I’m deeply sorry this ever happened.”
Kirumi changed the subject. “May I ask, Monokuma...”
She turned to him. “Why were Maki and I’s motive videos exchanged? Supposing we’re the only two in that situation.”
The Monokubs started sweating. “W-Well-” Monotaro was shaking.
The black and white bear took out his claws. “Yes, why indeed, when I asked you to give them to their respective owners, did those two get switched?!”
Monophanie couldn’t form a sentence before puking on the ground.
Monosuke fixed his glasses, looking away. “I-it was an accident I’m sure-”
“Geez! Monosuke! You should clean your glasses more often!” Monotaro put his paws on his sides.
“So a pure accident then...” Rantaro muttered.
“You all talk about feelings and everything but that’s boring! I want to tell you all a lil’ something!”
Monokuma interrupted the silence.
“What do you want?” Ryoma glared at him.
“Well, it turns out that someone here knew who the culprit was and didn’t even bother saying anything during the entire trial!”
Almost everyone jumped at the bear’s declaration.
“Wait, I thought Kaede was supposed to be the one being the indirect accomplice!” Kaito exclaimed.
“I don’t have anything to do with this! I didn’t tell anyone about my plan!” the tailor countered.
“Kirumi~” Angie tilted her head to the side. “You knew a lot about this, didn’t you?”
“I didn’t know Maki was the one who did it. I was only confident when the main suspects were only us two.” she replied.
Miu was confused. “But why didn’t anyone say anything??”
Shuichi glanced at everyone, hoping to get an answer...
When his eyes landed on Kokichi.
He was abnormally pale, and slightly shaking. There was guilt written all over his face.
“Kokichi... Do you know something about this?” the blue-eyed teen asked.
The smaller boy jumped at the accusation “I-...”
All eyes were on him now. Maki was probably the most confused one. It’s clear the two never talked about this.
“It’s my fault. It’s my fault Kaede died i-it’s my fault Miu was accused and-and it’s my fault e-everything went wrong it’s m-my fault-” he started rambling, dropping to his knees, hands on his head.
Himiko went down and put her hands on his shoulders. “Kichi!-”
“DON’T TOUCH ME!”
He violently shook Himiko off and took a few steps back. He was breathing heavily, tears in the corner of his eyes. If Shuichi had to guess, he was probably doing a panic attack.
“Kichi...?” the red-haired girl didn’t seem angry, just worried.
“It’s always my fault when something like that happens! If I wasn’t there everything would have been perfectly fine! I’m always the one ruining everything!” he yelled.
“But if Maki did it, how exactly is this your fault?” Shuichi asked.
Kokichi looked at him for a few seconds, then nervously laughed.
“B-Because... You all forget that my very own existence is problematic... I tried to warn you all but... T-This always end up with death and suffering, i-it’s my fault...”
Rantaro pondered for a moment then seemed to get it. “Are you talking about your talent?”
Miu frowned. “What does his talent have to do with anything?”
Kokichi hid his face in his knees, trying to make himself smaller. “Maki poisoned the bowl and left the victim to chance, right? It’s only natural the one she tried to protect would end up being the one dying...”
He paused.
“... That’s the ultimate karma for you.”
Kaito raised an eyebrow in confusion. “Wait, so you’re saying that because Maki tried to kill one of us... You simply existing made her plan fail and made Kaede the victim...?”
He nodded, refusing to look at the biker in the eyes.
Kiyo looked at Shuichi. “So that’s what you wanted to tell us about during the investigation?”
Shuichi’s eyes widened in realization.
---
“Wait, Kiyo, Shuichi…”
The two turned around.
“What is it, Kokichi?”
He looked like he was wondering something. “I… Think I’ll tell you two, but please don’t tell anyone else.”
He took a few seconds to compose himself. He took a deep breath but…
“Nevermind. Forget it.”
Kiyo noticed his breathing was heavier than usual. “Are you su-”
“Kichiiiiiiiiiiiiii Kiyo and Shuichi! We’re waiting for you guys!” Himiko yelled from just outside the lab.
“We’ll discuss it later. Let’s go.”
---
He silently nodded.
“I realized the moment Maki looked at Kaede’s body. I knew she had tried something and it ended up going against her. I wanted to believe that wasn’t the case but...” he paused.
“...That’s just how things are. I’m a parasite always ruining people’s lives and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.” he muttered, his voice muffled.
“I know I should just stop existing for the sake of everyone... But I never had the courage to actually end it all.”
The group stayed silent. Maki didn’t even say anything. She didn’t even look like she was blaming him, which was a good thing, considering his current state.
“You’re wrong.” Himiko stood up and approached Kokichi. “You’re not a parasite at all and you can’t say all those things about yourself! Your talent is the ultimate karma but you didn’t choose it! You don’t have to feel bad for people being punished for their bad actions! I know you feel responsible since your talent is about indirectly punishing bad people...”
She extended her hand to him. “... But as long as we don’t do bad actions, nothing can stop us, right?”
He lifted his head and looked at her.
“And if we do good actions, that’s double the reward!” she smiled brightly at him.
He looked at the ground for a moment and slowly approached his gloved hand to Himiko’s. He hesitated for a moment, but took it.
After standing up, Kokichi brushed the dust off his hoodie. He turned to Maki but couldn’t look her in the eyes for long. “... I’m sorry. I’m not stupid, I know it’s my fault Kaede ended up the one dying. But... No one can say that one life matters more than another... At least that’s what I think.”
Maki couldn’t even say anything. She clenched her fists but let it go shortly after, and crossed her arms under her coat, looking away.
“It seems like our blackened hasn’t got anything else to say!” Monokuma broke the silence.
The girl in question lifted her head, her back turned to Monokuma and his podium.
Shuichi could see fire in her eyes. She looked determined... To do what?
The remaining monokubs commented, saying that it was their favorite moment.
It was time for Maki to get executed.
“I... Refuse to die.” she muttered.
“What’s this? I didn’t quite hear you!” Monokuma tilted his robotic head to the side.
“I will survive no matter what. Even if Kaede is dead because of me... She wouldn’t have wanted me to die.” she continued.
“You know the rules! The blackened must get punished!”
“AND I SAID I WILL SURVIVE!!!” she yelled desperately.
Everything went so fast.
Maki ran towards Monokuma. The bear didn’t have much time to react when-
She took out scissors from under her coat and stabbed him in the red glass eye.
The robotic bear started beeping and Maki threw the bear across the room before he exploded, shattering the stained glass.
The ground started shaking, the spotlights from behind the glass and huge rocks falling in the courtroom.
The Monokubs were panicking, much like everyone else.
An alarm suddenly went off, the lights started flickering and the giant screen which had indicated Maki’s guiltiness earlier turned on.
“Puhuhuhuhu... It looks like we’re having a few technical difficulties! Everyone, please calmly exit the room using the following stairs!” Monokuma said through the screen, and a green light next to the elevator started flickering, reading “Emergency exit”.
So many questions ran through Shuichi’s head, but his attention was caught by the Monokubs.
“This is bad- blurughrugh!” Monophanie puked.
“But we can’t let the blackened escape, this is punishment time!” Monosuke yelled.
“Papa!” Monotaro was still focused on the spot Maki threw Monokuma at.
“WE-MUST-FOLLOW-THE-RULES.” Monodam said.
“Maki!” Himiko yelled when she saw the girl running towards the stairs and climb them 3 steps at a time.
“I’m not dying here! I will escape!!” she yelled through the noise.
“LET’S-GIVE-IT-EVERYTHING-WE’VE-GOT. IT’S-PUNISHMENT-TIME.” Monodam jumped on Monokuma’s seat, taking the toy hammer and pressing the small red button with it.
GAME OVER
Maki has been found guilty.
Time for the punishment!
Maki ran up the stairs, finally reaching the exit, right next to the elevator in the shrine of judgement.
(BGM -Yes it’s not a DR execution theme I know-)
While she expected outside to be dark because it would have been nighttime by now, she actually could see nothing but darkness, and not even the night sky. It was like she wasn’t even outside, just in another room that wasn’t where she was supposed to be.
Her vision was limited to only a few meters around her. The rest of her surroundings were pure darkness.
Suddenly an arrow was shot out of nowhere, slightly cutting her thigh.
Kagome Kagome Ultimate tailor Maki Harukawa’s execution: Executed
She ran as fast as she could.
More arrows were shot out of nowhere, most of them missing but some of them cutting her in various places.
The adrenaline rushed into her body. She couldn’t stop running, even though she had no idea where she was going. There were no walls anywhere, she could just feel the grass beneath her feet.
As Maki kept running, she felt an arrow piercing her left palm. But she remembered that taking it off would only make things worse, so she left it. She felt another arrow piercing her right wrist.
She desperately kept running. More arrows cutting her the more she slowed down because of her injuries.
Once she felt two arrows piercing her ankles, the pain was too much and she fell to the ground.
Maki tried to crawl to move, but another arrow shot her in the back.
Panting, on her knees, she put her right palm to the ground to breathe, but felt something on the ground.
Something thin she hadn’t noticed.
It was a string, connected to one of the arrows that pierced her. That was the case of all of the arrows in her body.
Before she could reach for the arrow in her left hand, she felt tiny spikes stabbing her where the arrows had been.
They weren’t arrows, she realized. They were grappling hooks.
Maki felt her body floating, dragged backwards into the darkness, before abruptly stopping. Her body was now a puppet floating, and she felt an immense pain in every single part of her body.
A spotlight turned on from above, illuminating her injured body.
Now at the mercy of whoever was directing her execution, giving up was the only option.
Maki felt like her body was being cut into pieces, with sharp scissors slicing her everywhere, but she also noticed her outfit being changed as well.
Black boots, purple stockings, a dark purple skirt, a purple jacket on a black, long sleeved shirt, an orange tie and a different hat on her head...
She was wearing Kaede’s usual outfit.
Maki felt tears rolling down her cheeks, and before falling into eternal unconsciousness, felt one last arrow piercing her heart.
Back in the shrine of judgement, the others all came out of the stairs, waiting for something to happen.
The door opened, and in the courtyard was floating the mangled body of Maki, cut from all sides and positioned like a broken marionette.
The students stared in horror at the girl’s corpse, blood dripping from all parts.
Maki Harukawa, the ultimate tailor, was dead.
Tenko’s execution was brutal, but this... This was beyond insane. Shuichi felt sick looking at her.
“Good grief! That woman was a pain to keep in control! Kids these days...”
Monokuma’s voice was heard from behind.
Everyone stared at him.
“Now now! The trial is over and it’s...” he looked at his wrist even though he had no watch. “... 10:20 PM! Now shoo! I have important matters to take care of!”
The was a moment of silence as the students kept staring at the bear.
“What? I said shoo! Shoo! Go to sleep!” he said, gesturing at everyone.
“I thought there was a mastermind among us who needed to create another one of you by themselves!! But we’re all here and you were destroyed?” Himiko exclaimed.
The bear took out his metal claws. “Excuse me! I’m a very autonomous bear and I don’t need some stupid humans to function correctly!”
Everyone stared at each other.
“... Although he is right. We should go to sleep for now. Today has been... Long, to say the least.” Kiyo said, looking down.
Shuichi nodded.
The walk to the dormitory was silent. Shuichi glanced at everyone to see how they were doing.
Himiko had her hood on the head, Kokichi walking next to her as an attempt to confort each other.
Miu and Kaito were walking next to each other, Miu looking at the ground and Kaito patting her shoulder.
“Hey.”
It was Rantaro’s voice. It was low, as a sign Shuichi was the only person he was talking to.
“Hmm?”
“You feeling alright?” he asked.
The boy looked at the ground. “It’s just... Maki didn’t deserve to be killed so... Horribly.”
Rantaro nodded. “... Unfortunately this is the world we live in right now. If we kill someone we must accept what’s coming to us. We have to get together to make sure not let our emotions manipulate us and let another incident like this one happen ever again.”
As much as he hated it, it was the truth.
They reached the dormitories and some of them exchanged a few ‘good nights’ before going to their respective rooms.
Shuichi closed the door and let his body slide down against it. He couldn’t even shed a single tear.
Kaede had put her entire trust into Maki, and Maki ended up accidentally killing her in an attempt to escape together.
Maki did her best to escape, she even managed to get rid of Monokuma for a few minutes.
Why did she still get executed? Was the mastermind behind all of this? They thought it was one of them but was it, really?
He didn’t know, and he didn’t have the energy to think about it.
Shuichi went to sleep as an attempt to forget.
They were going to get through this.
They had to, for their deceased friends.
They had to keep on living.

🌼Flowers for my wounds🌸
(@kondo-hijikata @liuet in case you feel like reading it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
~Yes, woo what a surprise, a long rant about the Shinsengumi again, how original Nashi. ~
Why thank you, dear reader ;) In all seriousness though, all the previous rants I made were spoiler free and it made me ridiculously furious that I held back all the salt and awe I have in me just for the sake of not spoiling any potential newcomers. I’ve covered some of this in vague posts hundreds of times, but today I will break that habit, I will spoil this to hell and back and enjoy it just as much.
You've been warned.
PS: I’m doing this entirely based on my memory and some snippets I’ve seen one time too many for my own good. Inaccuracies are bound to happen.
As always, what better way to begin than with the infamous episode 33...
I'm kidding, today I'm starting by digging into the post office. As with the usual routine the theme to talk about with this wreck is - guilt. Guilt over losing money in a gamble like a complete fool, guilt over buying a book and being too big of a shit (with rather solid arguments) to admit it, guilt over making rules you can't break even though going through the consequences once was enough to make you regret it for the next few miserable years... (Yes I lied, inadvertently everything comes back to the foolish daffodils). But let's talk about our pure accountant who is one 'i' short of being nothing but cute. Let's talk about the edge they put us on a bit before the main event took place, when the (drama version) of the idiot trio tore that scroll. Never forget that could have been the reason for all our tears, yet in the end it still had to be some more complex scheme. An act with the convict being an innocent man and the true criminal roaming free, while Toshi had all the time in the world to steep in deep, raging self-denial over the legitimacy of his past actions and life choices, all the while ending up the scapegoat to whom all the anger can be directed towards. The subtlety with which we were deceived to think the "actual events" of episode 38 were to play out earlier is truly commendable. But with this drama nothing is ever easy. You get to know a new character, someone moves a chess piece and then instead of moving forward everything takes a step back and lets you seethe with nervousness because, without realizing, you've been tricked and have to wait for all the heartbreak a while longer. Takeda's resolve to keep to his decision, regardless of consequences, was in his eyes, completely justified. It did make sense to try and prevent Kano from buying the book for Ito in order to protect the group from his growing power, the action simply failed due to Toshi's own greed after it. Kawai innocently, perhaps naively, thought lending money more than once would not be punished in hopes his friends would be saved from harm. It is his kindnesses that is ultimately his doom and it is the unexpected, usually harmless twists in life that turn it into a spiral with no point of return. Takeda's following quest for redemption ends up being just as pointless as Kawai’s death - he is killed in an instant of hate directed at him, where the assailants are unaware of his reasoning for the justification of his friend's demise. The book too, loses value as Ito gets his own copy later on.
Most, if not all, tragedies in this drama happen because someone is trying to protect or shield - and idea, a person. Toshi's friends die because he must protect the order of the group for Kat-chan, Yamanami and Akesato have a rift in their final moments because they cannot be honest (likewise Souji and Hide), Kat-chan's relationship with Tsune suffers because he lies about Miyuki, Nagakura and the others write the petition to shield the group from Toshi and Kat-chan's (propensity) ego. The pattern is pretty clear.
I'm going to loop back to the script for just a second - watching this drama knowing what will happens adds a thrill, it makes you question when an event will take place even though you know the chronological sequence, because the “mini-arc” leading up to it has to be completed first and the tension must be just right. How long that is depends on the episode and event of course. But each arc is a stepping stone to a new point of no return.
I think, since I've mentioned him, I'll take a bit to talk about Ito as well. I love, love, love the confrontation Kondo and Ito have right before his death. It's absolutely stunning despite being simplistic in nature, because what Kondo states is in fact the very obvious truth and in no way some overly wise notion of the situation. However, it's that simplicity (to me) that adds to the charm of the scene. If you expected some courageous battle of wits, you might have been sourly disappointment, but otherwise - see the pattern? - what brings people to their knees is once again the basic things in life. Kondo’s sincerity, the fact that life is and always will be (mostly) separated into black and white for them. Farmers and samurai, poor and rich - they fit in a narrow grey zone, yet even there they are bullied, pushed away to leave. It's everything complex they're trying to achieve being haunted by little things. It's the desire and determination to be something big and more buried into the ground by the small things they were raised with, holding them back.
Ah, it’s about time this goo got to the good part.
No, it’s still not episode 33. Firstly because I’m sure everyone is tired of my whining about it and secondly because I like to leave best (in my opinion) for last.
This is for our Gargoyle and Tofu. Just imagine, for a second imagine that final hug again and bathe in it, then come back to me, okay? The wedding rings champagne caps and Toshi’s little grimace when he tries to convince himself ‘it’s not over yet’. (At this point I would just like to praise Mitani again for giving us closure with that hug, unlike some other shows I watch *side eyes knife pile*). I’m really glad the two of them got to hug it out before the whole deal blew up. Everytime a ‘Kat-channn’ or ‘Tossshii’ came around my heart melted a bit. THE DYNAMIC IS SO GOOD. (I get so, so jealous each time I see well written relationships between two guys. Doesn’t matter if it’s boyfriends/best friends/would-die-for-you combined or only one of these included. (*cough* NIF & Bleach for one *cough*) I don’t even know what to say! We all know Toshi would sacrifice the world for Kat-chan. We all know Kat-chan trusts him above all else. The guilt one feels and the content of the other having come so far together and being such a power combo…*noises*
I don’t even know how to put this.... (@kondo-hijikata help this is your expertise)
I’m going to move on to some more feathery stuff because I’m really at a loss about these two (analysing NIF’s LC/MCS has engraved so deep into me it’s ruined my perception for everyone else, I apologize).
Right, feathers…
I wrote about Serizawa and his issue of not being able to get over his “I’m a bad guy, therefore I must act like it” complex...somewhere before. I can’t find it, but I’m very sure that was once a thing. I know most people hate the man with a burning passion and part of me probably does too, yet the way he is presented also makes him fascinating, like he is very self-aware but cannot change anything about that (this is similar to Toshi’s “indifference” (we all know he actually cares) of his path to become the villain - he knows that what he is doing is morally wrong and has no intention of stopping). I feel like in the end both of them continued with “bad guy” roles simply because they were too far down that road to stop.
I would analyse Serizawa’s character more, but I honestly don’t remember much anymore. I did want to mention this though.  Toshi on the other hand…feels like someone who desperately wishes to rage quit everything, but keeps on going out of pure spite.
And since I’m speaking of our beloved vice-commander - one thing that opisses me off is that Kotetsu got mentioned, but the whole wow deal with Kanesada got dropped out, even in the movie. *cue bawling over that Katsugeki finale* I was hoping for that when Tetsu showed up dammit!
Am I tiring you yet? Come, sit down, have some tea Gen-san made because he is totally ok and alive an happy and you cannot convince me otherwise because the hugging thing did not happen. Period.
Lastly, because my mind is going blank this is quite long - the bane of my existence and the one thing (to me) more cursed than Ryoma himself. (I’m lying PMK upped this x100000 and I am not over that either. I’ll confess immediately I did not read the whole thing yet but this, this haunts me).
This stupid episode with it’s stupid ending and it’s stupid decisions. *insert me yelling about rice balls on the Mibugishiden review post* I mean what is it with this drama and ending brutally sad episodes with (unintentionally?) funny moments? *cue Toshi’s squeaky crying* I have covered my thoughts about Akesato here and here though and since that essentially recaps everything I want to say, I won’t repeat myself. (Thought you’d have to read through 5 more pages of me screaming? I did too before I forgot what I wanted to say.)
I might make a part 2 someday, if I think of more to say, but for now, I’m done, leaving you with this stressful mess. Feel free to add your own opinions, I’m really curious about what the rest of you think.

what about the boys with a really childish s/o?
Tumblr media
And time for my next ask! This was fun, but it also got super long and in-depth since I gave everyone a completely unique scenario! I hope you all enjoy the effort! What’s nice about a childish S/O is that they can be really energetic, silly, curious, emotional in general, but I think children are also surprisingly empathic and, of course, very blunt about the feelings they have. In the rigid adult world, all of those traits are beautiful to have! Don’t give up on your inner child, no matter what people try and tell you!~
Shuichi Saihara:- Shuichi doesn’t mind your childish disposition at all. Your energetic makes him feel happier and more at ease, and despite some complaints here and there, he’s always ready to follow your whims. Meanwhile, his calm nature manages to balance you out too when you start to feel too hyper or anxious.- However, sometimes, this socially awkward boy gets a bit overwhelmed by your antics. Mostly when you have a sudden emotional reaction to something and he can’t handle the situation. - Or when you suddenly jump at him for a hug and he freaks out at the body contact. He’s not the type to respond well to things he can’t expect, even though he’d love to be less jumpy.- One day, Saihara was thinking about this and feeling quite bad about it - something you immediately catch. You ask him what’s wrong, and even when he denies anything being wrong, you don’t let up.- As Saihara tells you about his worries, you deny them and tell him that it’s all okay. You don’t expect him to be any less jumpy, after all, that’s just part of the Saihara you’ve decided to love.- But you would so love for Saihara to go eat ice cream with you as an apology for being so worried about that kind of thing. He laughs and takes you to your favorite ice cream café.Kaito Momota:- Kaito loves being with someone like you! He’s not the kind of person that cares much about acting grown-up, and instead swears by doing what you love and following your dreams, after all.- You are like a physical manifestation of that mindset - you just are who you are, and that’s okay! As someone who’s been dissuaded from just being who he is many times in his life, he would never judge your behaviour.- Of course, that doesn’t apply to all people, however.- Sometimes, people give you an odd glare. Kaito always notices, but even though you can tell he’s getting mad at it, he just chooses to ignore it.- This time, it was something he couldn’t ignore, however.- Someone actually goes up to you and tells you that you should be ashamed of being like you are and that you should just start being an adult already.- Kaito snaps and grabs that person by the shirt.- “Just shut up and get out of my partner’s sight, right now.”- He lets them go and the person flees away in panic. You tell him that were worried that he would get in trouble for that, but Kaito just picks you up, ruffles your hair and tells you that he would not care if something happened to him, but that he always has to stand up for you or he’d fail as your boyfriend.- You tell him that you appreciate the thought, but that you also don’t want him to burn himself out from taking your responsibilty or get himself in trouble because that’d make you more upset than anything else.- He reluctantly accepts your words and promises that he’ll take better care of himself, too.Ryoma Hoshi:- You and Ryoma are a perfect example of opposites attracting! Ryoma is a very small and young-looking, but serious person, and you’re very carefree and childish despite looking a tad more mature than him. It creates a hilarious, but also surprisingly functional dynamic.- It’s very easy to tell that you rely on eachother’s company a lot - you’re both like two inseperable halves of a whole.- But, especially with someone as free of worry as you, he is worried with burdening you with his issues or dragging you into something unpleasant due to his past.- You’re always assuming him just being a bit gloomy as always, so he can hide his worries well for a long time.- However, you’re slowly starting to notice something else. Ryoma not going out much with you. Ryoma not talking about his feelings with you anymore.- At one point, you suddenly decide you’ve had enough. You were getting very pouty and upset with Ryoma from one moment to the other. You demand to know why he is closing himself off from you so much again.- Ryoma says that he’s not convinced the relationship is going to work out when he needs to be worried about him burdening you.- You agree with him and tell him that it’s absolutely right, but because he has no reason to do so! You might be a bit childish, but especially then you also want to take responsibility for the relationship you’re in.- Honestly, Ryoma is very glad to hear that. You continue by saying that him getting paranoid about something like that instead of just enjoying your company is just making things worse for the two of you, not better.- He apologizes deeply and makes up for it by teaching you how to play some tennis on a public courtyard. Many people are watching and admiring his skills from afar… and nothing unpleasant happened at all.Rantaro Amami:- Rantaro is a cool, brotherly type in the first place, so he just loves taking care of you! You remind him of the times where he’s still had his siblings and took care of them in any way he could, except romantically this time.- However, he’s also quite protective of you - he always keeps an eye on you no matter what you do or where you go, almost as if he’d not want you to be seperated with him ever. - Actually, that’s probably exactly it.- He just doesn’t want to lose anyone this close to him ever again, and he has reason to worry especially with you being this childish…- So, considering Rantaro has always been ready to do anything with you so far, you ask him if you can both go to the park together.- As the two of you arrive there, you tell him to go sit on this one bench… and not move an inch away from it or look around!- You can tell he becomes incredibly worried at that plea. Exposed!- But you probably should also give an explanation - that you’ve realized how worried he is for you and that you just want to show him that even though you’re childish, you can still take care of yourself, too.- Rantaro is still incredibly hesitant, but he also doesn’t want to distrust you.- So you end up going far away to a patch of meadows.- There, you can see a ton of beautiful flowers growing. You decide to pick some from him as a reward for holding out like that.- You also remember hearing something about Hanakotoba - the Japanese flower language - and try to recall some flowers that’d fit.- In the end, you carefully pick some pink roses - a symbol of trust and confidence as well as love - and make a bouquet out of them. - When you return, he looks at you and your gift with such relief and happiness. It seems like you were finally able to have him take a first step towards being less worried!Gonta Gokuhara:- As someone who’s also a bit naive and socially unaware, you and Gonta are two birds of a feather. Together, you figure out the world around you!- Of course, the two of you understand eachother just perfectly. But both of you still have a bit of trouble with meeting society’s expectations.- On the one hand, you yourself don’t really wanna worry about that too much.- On the other hand, it’d be good if you could at least go along a little bit in a pinch, and you know it’s a very personal problem for Gonta. - So, the two of you are training together to be the perfect duo of the gentleman and his beloved!- However, you are eachother’s best judges? Worst judges? Anyway, whatever you’d call it, you just love eachother too much and don’t know enough to really give constructive advice to eachother.- But the two of you just never notice that, so it happens that you’re commonly inappropriate in some manners, not noticing it until it’s too late.- Gonta seems really sad about it whenever it happens, but you tell him to keep his chin up and just learn from the experience!- To not make him worry about all the societal expectations as much anymore, this time, you just propose that you go to the forest with him at night and watch and talk to the bugs. - He immediately cheers up upon hearing your offer, and the two of you have a beautiful night!Kokichi Ouma:- In terms of how well this relationship works, well… Let’s just say it works fiendishly well for the two of you.- You two are both people that embrace their childish side, but hide a lot of intelligence behind it. What do you two use these traits for? Of course, you prank others with passion!- No one is safe from you, and you’ve become quite infamous for your exploits. But everyone knows it’s all in good fun, so no one can get mad.- Aside from pranking others, the two of you are always ready to go along with the silliest of whims. You are rebels that don’t care about what anyone else says, you just go for what seems to be the most fun at any time!- Being with Kokichi never gets boring for you or him… but sometimes, you wonder if he’s just playing with your heart, too, if this love is all just a cruel prank from his end.- Kokichi can tell that you are having your doubts, and he plans a very elaborate response to it. After all, the best way to show someone that you really love them is with the cheesiest prank he has come up with yet.- So, one day, as you take a walk back home, you drop into a small pitfall.- After screaming in confusion, you take a look around just to see Kokichi partially below you, half-naked, only a large pink ribbon covering his vital parts, with a heart-shaped box of pralines and a pink sign with heart and kiss decorations saying “Nishishishi! Look at how you’ve fallen for me!~”- You don’t even think about it being sarcasm or not, you die of laughter and embarassment from the hilarity of the situation - just as Kokichi planned.- Then you tell him that he should put on his clothes again and get out of here with you. But Kokichi tells you that he’s left his clothes outside and there’s no way to get out until help arrives.- So this is how he coerced you into making out with him in a pitfall, just for a while.Korekiyo Shinguji:- Despite Korekiyo being the very thoughtful and studious type, completely unlike you, he loves your childish passion and curiosity for everything.- A favorite thing to do for the two of you is him telling or reading stories to you before you go to bed together - but you’re so eager on hearing more, and always beg for yet another story, so he’s took it as a challenge to find and tell the most relatively boring and unremarkable stories.- Which ends up being a total failure still. He can make everything really interesting and entertaining, it’s like his talent is a curse in this situation.- Your relationship is very happy and fulfilled, not despite, but due to your differences. But sometimes, people ask you if you find Korekiyo to be a bit unsettling, especially since you act so childlike. - Maybe you were a bit creeped by him at first, but he’s really just someone that’s really passionate for what he loves - and for who he loves. - Someone with your nature is easily able to look past things that are stereotypically considered creepy or unsettling and love someone for who they truly are. - Deep down, Korekiyo really appreciates this as well - he’s always been accused of being a creep or acting in taboo ways.- But you just don’t care about someone’s mere exterior. It’s the inside that counts - and to you, no one is more beautiful in there than Korekiyo.Keebo:- Of course you and Keebo get along very well, too. I mean, what child doesn’t want their awesome mecha (boy)friend? Even in your age, those feelings didn’t go away, and with Keebo, they became an unique reality.- Keebo loves showing off his Ultimate Robot functions to you. He’s very proud of himself, his creation and his status, after all, and you’re always so amazed, he just can’t help it!- But sometimes, there are also situations where he can get a bit pouty at you. Even though you love him so much, sometimes he feels like he’s treated more as a human-sized toy rather than your boyfriend.- You always tell him that you just can’t help playing with him so much because you love him this much, and that it’s really nothing personal.- Still, of course Keebo rightfully expects to not just be there for your own amusement. So to balance it all out a little, you take Keebo to this huge mecha convention that is happening very close nearby.- Both of you absolutely love it - you’re both massive nerds for this, after all!- Keebo gains even more inspiration for what enhancements to get for his body, but you jokingly tell him that he starts to make himself into a toy for himself. He goes speechless and flustered at that statement, not knowing how to refute it.- So you just say that of course it doesn’t mean Keebo is just a toy, but that not just you, but also Keebo himself is super excited for the things he can do! Isn’t it perfect that way?- Keebo laughs in agreement. He just can’t be mad at you, even if you seem or sound a bit unintentionally robophobic at times.
