Celtia Delphina Irene Nephyis
First Meeting + HC's
Tumblr media
In what one could call another world, where things such as magic exist and the ability to summon a being from another world to their realm, lies an Empress with an unfortunate dilemma.
The Empress Celtia Delphina Irene Nephyis is the first woman to rule over the Nephyis Empire and a woman known to have blood on her hands. No man or woman could deny her power and once she gained the throne with her own hands, no one dared to speak against her.
After all, how could you speak against her? She fought in a war against an enemy kingdom and won! Only to be cast out by her own brother due to his greed over the throne, her lover killed by her brothers' hands in order to crush whatever hope to live that was left in her.
Unfortunately, her sorrow turned to rage instead of despair. And now she rules over an Empire that desperately needs another ruler to watch over the citizens' needs while she keeps the nobles in check.
But after the loss of her dear lover, she couldn't fathom ever loving or being intimate with anyone else. So she mulled over several books about what former Emperors did in such a situation. A few cases where they took a well-rounded citizen to help make choices over what the people needed. But another case stood out -
"Summoned from another world?" She mumbled, her eyes peeled away from her book to ring a bell, "Bring the Lord of the Tower here. I need his expertise." She commanded.
And as though history was set in stone, her former quarters when she was a princess now had runes and circles marked into the ground, part of her blood and other herbs in the center, and a young magician by her side reciting words.
A bright light flashed and for a moment Irene thought that maybe it didn't work as she felt blinded, but as her eyes blinked open and tears blinked away, she saw you.. a woman from another world with odd clothes and clearly disheveled.
You looked so lost in her eyes. You were on the ground, confused and slowly backing away from the center of the circle, tears filling your eyes.
You were a cute thing, almost like a chubby kitten who couldn't trust the world around her. Something in Irene found that she liked you. She couldn't be sure since it had been so long since she genuinely found another person decent to be around. But you looked so innocent to her. Like you haven't even seen death in the face like she has several times before.
When she snapped out of her trace you were breathing hard, panicking as you grabbed an oddly shaped rectangle out of your bag and started desperately tapping it, "Work dammit, work! Oh god, what's happening? Please don't tell me I went and got high the moment my boss fired me and now I'm having a mass delusion!" You rambled, your panic-induced state not letting you see the tall woman approach you.
Irene put a hand on your shoulder, making you freeze before you looked up, tears rolling down your cheeks as you looked into her eyes.
You, before you were whisked off to some other land, were having an absolutely rough week. Your boss had started sexually harassing you since you transferred departments and until the beginning of the week, you told him you weren't interested. And you tried to tell human resources!
Only for HR to ignore the accusation and your Boss to start to bully and isolate you until he finally fired you. That last thing you could remember was walking home. After that? It's all a blur.
And now some gorgeous woman was in front of you trying to calm you down? It's like all the stress just burst and you started sobbing, tears running down your cheeks all the while apologizing to the unknown woman while trying to dry your tears with your sleeve.
And as much as this should have weirded out Irene, she found herself sympathizing with the woman crying in front of her. She only kneeled down and took the woman in an embrace, finding you warm and comforting despite crying so harshly into her shoulder.
After you had stopped crying, Irene stood and told the maids in the room to wash you up and get you into something comfortable. She left the room to go set up her office for tea only for you to grab the sleeve of her dress after standing up, "Wait! Please! I don't understand where I am. I'll wash up or whatever after you explain what's happening!".
Irene only nodded, taking your arm around hers as a way to lead you out of the room and into the main palace, her office on the second floor just as grand as the rest of the palace. She had seen your tear-stained face light up with wonder at the sights the palace provided you with while she led you.
She found your facial expressions adorable but her face didn't show anything other than calmness.
You sat down on a chair in her office, it's surprisingly soft and more comfortable than your own desk chair. Irene sat across from you, sitting at her desk as she brought out a contract.
She let out a breath before staring right at you, preparing herself as she did before she struck a deal with someone. "I know this is quite an odd thing to happen to you as I can't imagine what you were doing before. But I and a magician have summoned you to this world in the hope to gain your help." She started, placing a contact in front of you.
She explained a bit of her dilemma, explaining that she needed someone who would listen to the citizens' needs and found that one Emperor in the past had massive success when summoning someone from another world. She also mentioned that she is the first Empress and has a hard time keeping the nobles in check. She claimed that if you didn't have the knowledge needed you could either choose to learn or go back to your world.
She was surprised to find that you accepted after looking at the contract. The contract was simply a formality and could be adjusted at any time. But it currently was heavily in your favor with a massive salary and your own office and you would get to stay in the palace you were summoned in.
You would miss your family of course, but a part of you felt like you didn't belong in your former world. And you would get to help people while living lavishly? No asshole bosses and no struggling for your next meal? You did hesitate for a moment, thinking about who you would miss, but even then you needed something new, and she mentioned going back to your world, so you would imagine if it was too harsh you could go back.
So with a black quill, you signed your name and held out your hand, "Looking forward to working with you, your majesty!".

Celtia Delphina Irene Nephyis
Regular Headcannons
Tumblr media
• Celtia Delphina Irene Nephyis is her full name, Celtia Delphina is the name her father gave her, and Irene is the name her mother gave her and the name she only lets people close to her call her.
• Currently Irene is 26 and was born on March 1st.
• Irene used to be quite competitive and took up the sword due to wanting to protect her weak mother. She is the firstborn of her siblings and is now the only one left in her family alive.
• In the Empire this is no slavery but there is quite a lot of gambling. Irene is quite a good gambler and made some extra coin by winning against soldiers.
• While Irene is expected to eventually marry, it does not matter the gender due to magic formed by the magicians of the tower forming a medicine for lovers of the same sex around 200 years ago in the Empire's history.
• While same-sex marriage isn't always encouraged in more harsh parts of the empire, it is allowed.
• As for Irene herself? Since the loss of her lover, she shut herself away and dove into her work.
• But slowly after she summoned you to her world she found herself growing attached.
• You're like a breath of fresh air after being caught in a burning building. You often come to her office to work on documents and the citizens have expressed their content with you. You recommended things from your own world that might help and often spoke your mind against nobles who were greedy.
• But she also saw it, the vulnerability in your eyes when you were unsure or when someone began to yell.
• And yet you tried your best every day, and on your days off you would bring Irene tea and some baked goods while in your night attire.
• She found it endearing even if it wasn't proper in her world. You were just so different!
• She could feel herself just slowly relax. A part of her felt mixed about the blossoming of feelings in her heart. How could she allow herself to care for another when she couldn't even protect her former lover from her own blood?
• It wasn't until she was up and about in her own office about two months after you were summoned that she heard the maids gossiping about you.
• They said that things started to be more lively after you arrived. That you must have been some sort of saintess to bring such ideas to improve the lives of others.
• They said you were so easy to deal with, that you treated the servants kindly and hardly complained. You weren't harsh and asked to bathe alone and dress yourself.
• You were beginning to look like a Saint in the eyes of others. And somehow Irene could understand.
• You were so kind to everyone. You knew how to stand up for yourself and you had a good grasp after two weeks of looking through complaints from the citizens.
• Irene was starting to accept the fact that her feelings were something stronger than a mere affection of a friend and partner that she worked with.
• Those feelings both scare and excite Irene and now that she is the most powerful person in the Empire, there's no chance of anyone or anything getting in her way.
Yandere Tendencies Headcannons
Tumblr media
• The moment Irene starts to feel love for you? She can't pinpoint the exact moment, but now she won't ever let you go.
• She'll make effort to eat with you every meal of every day, occasionally spending her entire day off with you
• She has your personal maid under her thumb, telling her who's been rude or who's upset you. She has your maid tell her if anything in your demeanor has changed or if you seem discontent. Every action is reported and eventually, she'll make up a reason to keep a guard by your side-
• She's honestly the paranoid type. She's lost love before, she can't afford to lose another. She doesn't see you as her lost lover though. You two were too different and the way she loves you isn't as innocent.
• She loves you to the point she would burn the Empire down if anyone took you away from her ♡
• And if some random noble tries to make a pass at you? A little blackmail and a thinly veiled threat are enough for anything akin to love with anyone else than her is enough to be snuffed out.
• And if you get a bit too close to a servant? Well, it's better you don't-
• She already has blood on her hands, she doesn't mind getting more on them.
• And while she would prefer for you to only see good things, she doesn't attempt to hide the blood on her clothes from you.
• A part of her wants you to know that ultimately, she is the one in charge. That while she adores you, if you were to ever run she would lock you away only for her to see.
• And if you ever brought up wanting to go back to your own world? Her heart would break. She's afraid that she would have to shake that from your mind as soon as possible.
After all, you made her love again! You can't leave her now! You're hers now. There's no way she'll ever let you leave.

The mysterious death of Charles Xavier
@dannybagpipesarecalling @kurttyfamily @tieflingteeth @muninandhugin
The pallet of colors present in the main office is white, red, and green, all thanks to Emma Frost, Madelyne Pryor, and Sebastian Shaw.
The main office is filled with letters, admissions letters to be exact, to be examined by the 3 adults present in this deluxe ambient. Sebastian Shaw is reading the letter of the Braddocks - the paper has the brazen of the family and Shaw is paying more attention for practical reasons only- ignoring the other pile.
Sebastian Shaw needs no introduction as the man dressed like someone from the Victorian era, which is unpractical, as they´re in the 21 century.
“The Braddocks are asking about our summer program, a collaboration can be profitable for us,” the voice carries not-so-subtle greed and the two ladies present in the room ignored his words.
“Anyhow, we have to select the next class for the school, we need genius and mutant, accepting Inhumas was a mistake,” Maddy counter clinical even if her eyes hold some pity, “at least in the RP department, Medusa was a hell of a show for us to deal and this really affected our reputation,”
Madelyne Pryor has long red hair, green eyes and is a stunning woman, however, she’s holding a letter with the symbol of the royal family. “They took all the Inhumas kids from us and ...we look like fools, I don´t like that at all,” Madeline frowns as the letter is burned.
Sebastian pipes in. “Your sister could have helped us” it was poor advice to give as Madeline sent a death glare in response, the man may be greedy but he’s smart enough to keep his mouth shut.
Emma Frost is laughing, for once, it wasn´t thanks to Shaw's callous decision or Maddy´s sister complex. “Oh My God!” she barks laughter again as she hands the letter to Maddy.
Madeline takes the letter and reads it out loud. “Dear council of Hellfire school, my name is Katherine Anne Pryde, I´m not a genius nor I know much about genetic-I think you guys have tons of future evil scientists- but I´m a fan of mysterious...I´m a witch- a real one, I promise- and I want to investigate the mystery of Charles Xavier´s death, can I please study in your school?”
Maddy cracks a smile but is unsure why Emma found that so hilarious.
“You, this is perfect, let’s enroll her in this school!” Emma suggested and Shaw wanted to argue but Emma is quick on her point. “Aside from her being hilarious,” there´s a derisive tone present. “It will also help us take the antis out of our back, people seem to think we support eugenics and if we have a true dumbass running around...our school is safe, for now,” Emma concluded.
The woman adjusted her white dress suit-never once ashamed of her coverage- and reads as she looks at the picture of Kitty Pryde. “She looks so much like a goofy,” controlling her laughter the woman has a sly smile now. “Which means, she’s perfect, we can use her,”
Madelyne Pryor raises one good point. “Emma, our school is for genius for a very good reason, you think if we let a person, with normal intelligence, hanging out here...it won´t cause us problems? Do you think she can understand our classes?”
Emma shakes her head. “Of course not, but, again, she wants to investigate one of the most mysterious deaths of Charles Xavier, let her try, once she fails...she can put this on her resume later and hey, our good name may open some door for her or not, either way, no one loses here,” Emma promised.
Shaw raises another good point. “The tuition is expensive for a reason, you think this girl can afford it? Plus, our scholarships are for real genius, real talents like Amadeus Cho or Kurt Waggoner, wouldn´t that mean...we´re robbing some child’s chance just so you can bully a teen?”
Maddy is looking at him in total surprise. “Wow, that’s a very ...kind thoughtful of you, Sebastian!”
Sebastian just shrugs. “The student of today can be a client of tomorrow”
Maddy sighs in defeat. “Here we go, that’s the real Sebastian!”
Emma waves dismissively at them. “we still can afford the real students, this one...this one will be a short joke, I promise you,”
In the end, no one has any objection.
Kitty Pryde should be in school, but, ever since the incident-something no one likes to comment on- she and all the other students have free time. Well, some have tutors and others were transferred to another school.
Kitty is with her red jacket as she’s coming back to her home, no school may be normal, but no one can stay stuck at home 24/7 as she returns-sauntering and even jumping over the white fence- she noticed a letter on the mailbox.
“Hey, the mail deliverer arrived at last,” she noticed the number of letters. Bills and some invitation, until, “Oh my God...The Hellfire School reply to me” the girl has a big grin on her face.
She went inside to open the letter. Didn’t even hear her mother saying something about soup, as she is now in her room filled with magic and mystery books till the eyes can see.
Kitty delicately puts the letter on the bed and takes a deep sigh. Her fingers grow a soft blue light.
“OK, OK, Letter open it,” the letter opens by itself gently. Kitty is reading one time, two times, three times and finally, she screams of joy.
This makes Terry prompts to her room with a broom in her hands. “What? Is another demon?” and sighs in relief as is just Kitty with a floating letter. “What happened?”
“Mom, guess what? I´m accepted to Hellfire School...I CAN SOLVE ANOTHER MYSTERY,”
Terry can only say one thing. “Could be this time the mystery won´t be related to a demon?”
“It’s Charles Xavier´s murder!”
“Silly Terry, silly me!”

Heyyyyy, so about that doc with the AU ideas.... (Please feed me I yearn for content)
im obsessed with the idea of monoma and aizawa being related to afo lol. you only see like 3 quirks in the whole series that are based on other quirks - what i would call ‘meta quirks,’ that would only have any function in a world of quirked people. so ofc these 3 quirks have to be related:
afo decided to have a bunch of kids, to see if he could make noumus out of them which retained their brains after being given a bunch of quirks. he impregnated a bunch of women lol, but he kept tabs on them. as soon as the kids turned 4 and presented their quirk, they would be kidnapped by the doctor and brought into the lab. most of the kids had quirks based on quirks (seeing quirks, stealing quirks, copying quirks, erasing quirks…) and are various ages. aizawa, monoma and midoriya were some of them, but aizawa got saved by his badass mother when he was still a kid, so he was already gone by the time midoriya and monoma came around. the two of them manage to escape while afo is still recovering from his fight with all might, and since monoma’s mother was killed by afo, he goes to live with midoriya and his mother. they go off the grid and run away from afo. in this au midoriya is quirkless, up until he meets all might and it goes as usual. umm could be from monoma’s pov, and include monoshin because that’s cute. basically after the sports festival, afo finds monoma again and in the summer camp they kidnap him instead of bakugou. (the reason why aizawa was never caught or taken back by afo is because he won the whole sports fest and became too famous/well protected to be easily stolen back - since monoma didn’t make the fight rounds, he’s a perfect target. afo only knew the kids by their quirks, he never actually met them, so he doesn’t realise that midoriya is one of his kids as well because mido has a quirk now.) anyway so after they kidnap monoma back, he and midoriya spill the beans to the ua faculty, aizawa has a midlife crisis over the fact that he now has younger siblings, and afo continues to be a dick who doesn’t pay child support.
just some sweets stuff as well:
Christmas cake: Japanese slang for an unmarried woman over 25 who is considered undesirable as a wife, in the same way that Christmas cakes are considered useless after Christmas Day.
Good thing for Jirou, she never cared much about being ‘desirable’ to the opposite sex anyway.
-> a momojirou story about jirou’s 26th birthday and momo reassuring her that she is the best gf ever, and that she loves her very much. pro hero gfs <3
*
like. the trope of aizawa adopting shinsou? well what about instead… hawks adopting tokoyami?? maybe he comes from a super religious family and they tried to exorcise the ‘demon’ from him, protective services put him in the foster system, and he ends up with really shitty foster families, and his quirk is considered ‘dangerous.’ but then our boy hawks swoops in and goes ‘u know what? i’m not letting my intern get disrespected like this’ and adopts him. obviously hawks is still young himself (22 i think), so he’s not very good at the whole parenting thing, but miruko helps him out. he becomes an older brother figure for tokoyami. gen found family fluff ensues
*
bEST JEANIST AS A TEENAGE FASHION ICON
thats it, thats the idea
*
HAIKYUU AU - no quirks. just volleyball
so the ua boys volleyball team is on the rocks. its been pretty much non-existent and turned to dust at this point. but, it once own the nationals.
izuku’s mum runs this second hand / antique / trinket store, and izuku helps out sometimes. one day, he finds some old sports tapes in the back and watches them - they’re of the year when ua was at nationals, and their striker, yagi toshinori, inspires izuku to play volleyball.
bakugo is on the school team and he threatens / bullies izuku not to join, so izuku has to train on his own. he learns shitty technique, but he ends up building some muscle by clearing out the beach.
izuku gets into ua, and when he goes to apply for the volleyball team, ofc bakugo picks a fight. the other first-years who join the team are todoroki, kaminari, shinsou, kirishima, and iida. there aren’t any second years - they all got expelled - but mirio and tamaki are on the team as third years, and nejirou is the team manager. their teacher sponsor is a new teacher this year, and it’s left ambiguous. there’s the whole ‘get over ur differences if u want to join’ thing, and then woohoo! team!
turns out their teacher sponsor is aizawa. he drags in the now-retired-due-to-injury yagi toshinori to be the coach. when aizawa went to ua, the volleyball team was too small to go to any tournaments - he’s determined to turn it around and let these kids live their dreams.
some ‘canon? what’s that?’ ideas:
just a really wholesome story about inko and mitsuki being besties. met in middle school or something, supported each other through everything… just gals being the best of pals...
or i mean u could make it gay, that’s always an option (and have izuku and katsuki grow up as actual bros, and actually be friendly to one another? what a shocker) - like, the two of them get sperm donors and are pregnant at the same time so the kids can be twins or something. and ofc you’d expect katsuki to be closest to mitsuki and for inko to be closest to izuku, but then to make it a TWIST add some great bonding between inko + katsuki and mitsuki + izuku!! i’ve never really seen any mitsuki + izuku bonding in stories before, so that’d be pretty cool
*
izuku gets hit by a villain’s quirk during a big villain attack when he’s 7, turning him part-cat. the villain dies during the attack, so they can’t erase his quirk’s effects - they’d have to surgically remove the ears and tail, or get an expensive quirk specialist in. izuku decides he likes being a nekomimi, so he keeps them and gets being part-cat officially registered as his quirk. he has better senses and agility, and he can talk to cats now i guess. also his eyes are cat eyes. he doesn’t pass the ua exam, so he goes into the general department instead, but he does really well in the sports festival and gets transferred into the hero course with shinsou. (this is all just because i need a valid excuse to make izuku have cat ears.)
some ‘future au’ ideas:
all of the pro heroes merch lines - deku’s ’t-shirt’ shirts, tokoyami’s edgy emo/goth hoodies, iida’s ingenium trainers, bakugou’s popping candy chocolate, todoroki’s own brand of scar cream, HAGAKURE’S CAMO COLLECTION OMG the possibilities are endless
---i made hagakure’s camo for her bday drawing
(i use a strikethrough so i know which ideas i’ve used or posted anywhere. i think that once i put an idea on the internet, it’s probably free reign, so if you want to use any of these for fics or art go ahead. i’d just appreciate it is you could link back to me haha)
5 years after graduating from the General Studies department of UA, Hitoshi opened his own agency. As a private detective.
By the time he’s 25, he’s settled in and relatively comfortable with his career choice. So when his work phone rings one day and he’s still half-asleep he easily opens with, “Shinsou Detective Agency. Before you ask, I do not investigate cheating spouses or missing dogs and I do not screen potential employees for companies.” He paused. “I’ll investigate missing cats, though.”
The person on the other end took a harsh breath, like an almost-laugh, and responded gruffly, “Hm. Good to know if Jelly ever gets lost.”
-> aka shinsou is a PI and aizawa contacts him for help on a case. aizawa never sought out shinsou after the sports festival, being too busy with 1-a’s insane antics, and so shinsou went on to never become a hero. maybe he’s also a vigilante on the side? idk. anyway so yeah aizawa gives him temporary permission to use his quirk during the case. they investigate, blah blah, the point is that afterwards aizawa gets shinsou a licence and takes him on as a sidekick (the same way ingenium offered to koichi in vigilantes)
i have new ideas on the daily. this doc is just growing
keep in mind, i have given to you here only a few of the shortest ones. there are several huge paragraphs of full-au ideas (like where izuku has a quirk, and the entire story follows canon)
these are, ostensibly, ideas for fics that i never write because i’m lazy. but some of them i do end up using for art or comics, so... yeah. most of the comics i’ve posted were originally just little scripts in this doc. an example:
yamada and reformed!shirakumo are walking together, with coffees
shirakumo: so then i - oh, your phone’s wringing
(yamada’s ringtone is the nyancat song, and the contact name is ‘daddy’)
shirakumo: haha, you still call ur dad ‘daddy’? i thought you got over that in high school (taking a sip on the coffee)
yamada: (answering the phone, keeping eye contact with shirakumo) hey, shouta, what’s up?
shirakumo: (spits out coffee)
—- made this a comic on tumblr
damn this post is longer than i expected
whelp, i hope you liked it

"Ana! Breakfast's ready!"
My grandma yelled out but I refused to get out from under the covers. After a good night's sleep, my fight with Bakugo seemed dumber than ever. It was none of my business, but once again I overstepped and did something stupid. I curled myself up into a ball and sighed, regretting how embarrassing this whole mess became. That's what I get for trying to fight fire with fire.
"Anahita Shuzenji! I've called you once already!" The old woman barged into my room. "Why are you still in bed? You haven't been staying up late again have you?!" I felt her poke me with her walking stick.
"I'm never going to school ever again." I pulled the covers tighter over me. "Just let me die here and then bury me in some unmarked grave in the woods or something." That won me a cane beating. She wouldn't hurt me but she did annoy me into getting up.
"Stop that, old hag! I was joking! I still won't go to school though."
"Fine." She sat next to me. "I know what this is about. Shota told me what happened with that boy and said he talked some sense into you. Do you want to talk about it with me? Maybe I can help."
Granny patted my head lovingly and my pride broke down. Since my mom's death, we promised to trust each other with everything. After all, we were all the family we had left. And so, I told her about the fight, about Bakugo and Midoriya, about what I said before and during my apology. She scolded me for wasting candy but still found it funny, no matter how embarrassed I was. She held my hand while she listened to me and I told her how much I regretted it. I knew it wasn't my place to scold him, I wasn't the perfect example of a stable person either, and it was none of my business anyway.
"You're right, you shouldn't have involved yourself." I frowned, looking down in shame. "But you did well in defending that child. It's the third day of school and he has spent more time with me than in class! His master already got an earful from me." I cocked a brow at the mention of a master but she shrugged me off and sighed. "You should try to apologize properly today and apologize for butting in where you're obviously not welcomed. Now, get up and get ready! The food's getting cold." With a pat on my cheek, she hopped down the bed.
"Oh, I almost forgot! Shota and I will be out for the day. Something about representing the U.A., probably something boring. He said you had someone who can walk you home, will you be alright?"
"It's okay, Nana. I'll be fine, promise!" I sent her off with a smile as she left me to get ready.
I was more than fine. With Aizawa and Granny out for the day, I could resume my plans. It was the perfect opening! Going to school was no longer an issue for me, the good news had revived my motivation and blew Bakugo out of my mind. He was an issue I could deal with later. I could apologize at any time, but I couldn't get rid of Aizawa that easily. I refuse to waste this opportunity.
Getting to class, there were only a few students around. I spotted Blasty at his seat, his red-haired friend telling him and some other blond guy something he was excited about. I tried to ignore him as much as possible. I knew I had to apologize sooner or later, but I had other things in mind right now. Sitting at my desk I pulled out my phone. The night of the accident, I was following a lead about a bar downtown looking for part-timers. Rumor has it that's a villain hanging spot where all kinds of shady deals go down... And it's the perfect spot to gather information. Thankfully, the ad for a part-time job at the bar was still up and I was about to answer it when someone calls out to me.
"Good morning, Shuzenji!"
"'Morning, Midoriya. You can call me Ana, you know?"
"O-oh, sorry. You can call me Deku then!" His awkward smile made me chuckle.
"How are you doing? Nana is out of campus for today but I can help you if you need anything."
"Oh, no need! I'm fine, really, you already helped enough. I actually wanted to thank you..." The boy rubbed the back of his neck and I couldn't help but feel guilty.
"It's okay, really! Actually, I... I want to apologize." I looked away from him. He babbled frantically trying to reassure me I did nothing wrong but I didn't pay attention. "Listen, I yelled at Bakugo for hurting you... And I feel like I was out of line and shouldn't have butted in between you two... Well, I'm partially sorry. I'm not sorry I told him not to be a dick and to stop hurting people." That remark earned me a chuckle from the cute boy.
"Kacchan and I... It's complicated. But you were trying to protect me, right? I don't think you should apologize for that." I gave him a worried smile at the adorable nickname he gave that dickhead. "Ah! My mom baked cookies yesterday, I brought some for you and Recovery Girl. I'm sorry for the trouble I've been causing..." He offered with a shy smile.
"Oh, Deku... You're no trouble at all!" I tried my best to hold back but I couldn't help myself and ended up pulling the boy into a tight hug, to which he winced in pain. After a couple of apologies and a few laughs, we agreed we should stop being so apologetic.
"Damn, Ana!" Mina wrapped her arm around my neck. "You threw yourself right in! Didn't think you liked them quiet."
"What? No! It's not like that!" I stumbled, trying to find the right words. "I'm so sorry, Deku! I'm just so used to getting close to people..." There was no way for me to hide my embarrassment or Mina's laughter.
"Ignore her. She's just trying to tease you too!" Jirou chimed in, pinching Mina's cheek.
We settled into a nice conversation until the bell rang for the beginning of the first period. Besides the occasional conversation with Deku or some of the girls, I kept my distance throughout the day. I was still sore from 'the Blasty Issue', and I'd rather be left alone than screw up again. No offense to my classmates who were always welcoming and inclusive, but I couldn't take any more distractions. The week I spent without training had already left me behind and I couldn't afford any more mistakes, not when I had such a good chance.
I tried finding a secluded place to eat during lunch so I could do some research and check out what I was getting myself into. I tried the library but the lady had already kicked me out for eating there before. I'd tried the roof but, as expected, it was filled with students I'd rather have nothing to do with. Besides, Bakugo would follow me everywhere I go. Even if I lost him in the hall, when I looked back he was there. He kept following me but never approached me. It was starting to get on my nerves, so I thought out a plan. I took a sharp turn at the end of the hall and ran quickly to hide in the girl's bathroom. No matter how sad it felt to eat a sandwich in the bathroom, he would never follow me here. Hopefully, no one would find me here, it'd be really embarrassing to be caught eating lunch in the bathroom. All hope was lost when I heard someone opening the door. Hiding in a stall wasn't ideal, but there was no way I'd let Bakugo find me that easily.
"I know! It's so unfair." I heard a girl whine. "We've been trying our best to get into the hero department, studying and taking tests, and some stupid bitch gets randomly transferred? Pathetic." She scoffed.
"I heard she's some pro hero's relative. I guess even U.A. can be bought into letting low-lives with no talent in, huh?" Another girl added.
"Yeah, she's that nurse's granddaughter. How can a stupid healer even be a hero? What can she do? Heal villains to death? I bet that's why her grandma ended up working here." A third girl mocked and they all let out the most annoying laughs I'd ever heard.
I wasn't known for keeping my cool and that would show well at this moment. It's not them insulting me that pissed me off. Sure, my pride was hurt but I did get transferred under 'special circumstances' so they weren't wrong. But, insulting my grandma?
Kicking the door open I step out to confront the now quiet girls.
"What? What's your problem?!" All three glared at me but I stood my ground.
"Wanna talk shit? Say it to my face." I took another bite of my sandwich as I waited for their retort, to which they laughed.
"You're the transfer student?" The pink-haired girl mocked between laughs. "They really do let anyone into 1-A, huh? How do you get into the class if you can't reach the doorknob?"
"That's all you got? Weak shit." Keeping a straight face I savored another bite. They finally got their game faces on.
"What did you say?" The middle one got closer and I assumed she'd be the supreme dumb ass of the group. "You think just because you cheated your way up you suddenly become some hot shit?!"
Suddenly something cold rains down my body. The blue bitch had her hands out, a smirk on her stupid face as the idiots laughed at my drenched look. I did say insults don't get me, but controlling toilet water and dumping it on me? Oh, that rubbed me just the right way.
The bullies kept laughing as I jumped up and hit my knee on the girl's nose, hearing a clear crack. They went quiet, watching her friend fall on her back. I threw my soggy sandwich on her face.
"You caught me in a bad mood, Sewer Hands."
Before any of them could retort, my fist hit another girl's face throwing her against the wall. Her friend tried to grab onto me, but she couldn't hold me down and ended up being thrown over my shoulder and out the bathroom. Turning back to the reason I wasn't eating my lunch anymore I see her trying to get out, holding onto her friend.
"What? Play time's over, huh?!" I catch up to them in the thankfully empty hall. Grabbing the girl - whose nose was still bleeding - by the shirt, I push her back on the floor as I stood over her.
"You're out of luck, Toilet Water. I was in need of some stretching." I got on top of her grabbing her by the tie and glared right into her eyes. "You really, really pissed me off."
I threw my arm back, ready to show them exactly what got me into 1-A, when someone gets a strong grasp on my wrist and pulls me off the whimpering girl by the waist. My instinct to fight kicked in and I dug my heels on the ground and used my free arm to elbow them in the ribs, earning my freedom. Grabbing onto their arm, I use my momentum to throw my attacker onto the floor, stepping on their chest to keep them down.
"God- FUCK! What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" A familiar rough voice yelled up at me.
"Bakugo! I'm sorry, I didn't know! I- I didn't-" Getting off him, I offer a hand to help him up.
"Fucking hell, Shortie! How did you do that?!" He rubbed his head and I assumed he hit it pretty hard when I threw him down. "I gotta admit, you got some spunk, pipsqueak."
"I'm going to assume you're fine then."
Waving all the worry away, I turned to see the group of girls stumbling down the hall, helping each other run away. Scoffing I swatted a few wet bangs off my face. All of a sudden, something warm is draped over my shoulders and I look over to see Bakugo placing his jacket around me.
"You're wet. Did they do this to you?" He glared down the hall, but the bullies were long gone. I shoved him away and threw his jacket back to him.
"It's none of your business. I can handle myself."
"It is my business! I'm supposed to keep an eye on you remember?!" He threw his jacket back at me.
"Yeah, I know! I know I'm like some stupid assignment you gotta deal with but don't worry. I don't plan on telling Aizawa about this." I shoved his jacket right back.
"What the fuck are you talking about?! I'm trying to help you!" He shoved it back.
"Why?! It's not like you fucking care!" I snapped at him, throwing his jacket in his face.
"BECAUSE, I'M SORRY OK?!" He threw it back in my face and I froze, peeking at him from under the jacket. "I fucked up and pissed you off and I'm sorry okay?! Just let me help, you dumb idiot!"
He grunted in frustration and I watched him shift in place, obviously uncomfortable. It was clear how hard it was for him to talk about these things... But he tried, and I couldn't blame him for trying his best to make things right. Sighing I gave in and slid into his jacket.
"Your jacket smells like caramel. I like it." He rolled his eyes and scoffed at me, ready to retort but I stopped him. "I'm sorry too. We were both rude, but I was worse..." I looked down at my feet. "I butted in on something that had nothing to do with me, and I even said really mean stuff... I'm really sorry... But even if I don't know what's up between you two, it's not okay to hurt someone like that. Friend or foe. Don't hurt people like that, please."
I looked back up to him in time to see his expression soften and his fist unclench. With a sigh, he nodded.
"I'll try my best." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Guess I will too since I've just beaten up a bunch of bitches in the bathroom. And lost my sandwich." I frowned.
"We'll get you something to eat, but first you should change. You smell." I punched his shoulder.
"I don't know what you're talking about, all I can smell is caramel!"
"Will you shut up?! Do you know how uncool it sounds when you keep announcing what I smell like?! It's fucking weird!" Bakugo complained as we made our way down the hall.
"But I like it! It's comforting." I nuzzled deeper into his jacket and pouted up at his flustered face. That was a first for him and I tried my best to burn it in my memory as it seemed it wouldn't be a common occurrence.
Bakugo guided me to the girl's locker room, where I quickly cleaned off and changed into my gym uniform. I hated walking around with my hair down. I liked how long it was no matter how annoying it was to keep it in place, so I usually tie it up. But since it was still damp from the shower, I had no choice. Walking out, Bakugo was still waiting for me.
"Worried I might get bullied again?" I smirked throwing him his jacket.
"More like worried you might bully someone again." He scoffed. "You're a feisty one though, aren't you? First, you cuss me out. Then, you get yourself in a three on one fight. Are you trying to beat me at my own game, pipsqueak?" He looked somewhat proud as he ruffled my hair.
"Hands off, jackass!" I swat his hand away. "This mess is hard enough to keep without your help."
"Messiness suits you though." Bakugo flashed a rare smile, turning me into a flustered mess.
"Whatever, Sweat Stain. I'm starving!" I shoved him, walking faster.
I shrugged the feeling of wanting to see him smile more away and started making my way back to class. I finally apologized to him but it didn't mean I had plans to get close to him. Our relationship was already upsetting enough, especially considering I had to find a way to fool him into letting me walk home alone today. As per Aizawa's instructions, he had to leave me with some kind of supervision, such as Aizawa or Nana. Thankfully, once the last bell rang Kirishima and Kaminari were on Bakugo, trying to convince him to go somewhere with them, which I took as the perfect chance to get him off my case.
"Bakugo, I'm headed to Aizawa's office now! You should hang out with your friends!" I called out over my shoulder, smiling and waving as I made my way out of the room. I heard him scream out to me but ignored him.
I made my way out the school as naturally as possible, with a book open in front of my face to avoid getting caught on camera. Not tying my hair up actually worked to my advantage in not being recognized. Once far enough to not be caught by U.A's security system, I declared my plan in motion.
It's go time.

Worst Night of My Life
Me Against Them: Surviving Police Bullying
I have the deepest regrets of ever putting myself in the position to have to write a letter like this.  I'm writing about a horrific incident that occurred to me with a heavy heart and soul. I pray to God that no one will ever have to go through what I have endured and I am sure many before me have already, because honestly who wants to stand up alone against a city administration, a city prosecutor and an entire police department in the town they live in. I Do.
My name is Cara Ledezma a 41 year old single mom with almost 16 year old and we live in  Grain Valley, Missouri. Today I’m going to share a dark and horrific incident, not at the hands of some criminals but at the hands of Police. Yes, the POLICE who is sworn to protect the laws, the innocent, their property who actually turned out to be the real culprits.
This all happened back in 2017, when I was stopped by a police officer at 408 Main Street, my home address at the time. He suspected something criminal from a far distance(or at least a story the police were told) and because I didn't have my license at that time he decided to call for a drug dog to search my car without any probable cause that too when he had plenty of backup because several more police cars were in my driveway seconds after I pulled into my driveway only driving one city block. The sniffer went on to search my car but found nothing and then the officer went on to search my personal belongings he went on to search my purse which he had no right nor the cause too and then he decided to book me for possession of small amounts of prescription drug that belonged to my mother, by calling it "Possession of Drugs". This farce didn't stop or that his companion officers or the other officer with the sniffer from BSPD, he picks up the jewelry from my purse and the TV from the back seat of my car and referred them to be stolen from a burglary at Cypress Street from a month prior. Since then I’ve mentally so disturbed by all this, thousands in court fines and fees, attorney fees and not to mention my vehicle and all of the possessions in my vehicle. I have had countless sleepless nights over it and been depressed at certain times thinking about it, thinking about the time it happened, how it happened or how it all got started. Now I have decided that I will not share a shred of  my tears or my invaluable time thinking about how it happened. How it got started but on the contrary, now the only thing I care about is how it’s going to end, for good. I have decided that my daughter and I have suffered enough from something that we had nothing to do with and now it's time to put this horrible chapter of our life to bed. So that’s why I’ve decided to share my story with all of you so you could all know what I have suffered.
Since then, for 2 years I've dedicated myself that I will get to the bottom of this and will prove my innocence to everyone, since then I've been Dissecting the police reports and have been finding inaccuracies and discrepancies in them and have been finding facts to counter their outrageous lies.
The witness they presented against my name is a convicted felon with a record of Enticement of a Child(Actor 21 Years old or older and children less than 15 years of age), such felon is not being regarded and treated as a felon and a threat to the community, but instead his words are taken as biblical against a longtime resident of Grain Valley, against a single mom in college with a teenage daughter at GVHS, a women with ties to the community and family with business in Grain Valley. A felon’s words against someone who graduated GVHS, who spent most of her life in what I believed was beautiful community without any record of wrongdoing. I can say that I endured nothing but sheer humiliation at the hands of GVPD.
I can’t even begin to contemplate of what I had to go through, and since this, I've devoted myself to find the truth. So to begin I acquired the police report of the incident which was a complete fabrication of the truth. For a start, that why I’m calling it fabricated report because it involved no video of the whole incident, I couldn’t get a single shred of video evidence that could prove them right and me wrong, not from the inside of police station or from outside or from any of the police officers who were involved in this incident, not from ONE. There were three police patrols were involved and still there was no footage from any single one of them, with more than $100,000.00 of taxpayer money spent and still, they couldn't produce a video, I wonder what that money was spent on? So, I decided to go through the court, to obtain the video evidence,  I asked my attorney (Dave Halpin) to get the motion to file only to be told first by police a motion only to find out that the GVPD had no video evidence of that night. Period.
Then I decided to head towards BSPD since my car was searched by Officer Bates who was from BSPD. It is worth noting that the sniffer found nothing when he sniffed my car, it was only then they decided to search my belongings and my car which they had no right to do as I said earlier, and as according to the law “A police officer can only search your vehicle if he has probable cause" which they didn't have. That is where the police overstepped and abused their power by violating my fundamental right, that they humiliated me even when I told them that I was bleeding all the way through my legs cause of menstrual bleeding, I requested them to let me get some feminine products to clean myself up as I was being held in my driveway in front of all the officers and anyone who was driving by. After about an hour of being humiliated, mocked and completely feeling like I was being tortured the officers did let me get in my car to change my clothes and get some clean one. The ones I just picked from the laundry. On the top of all the horrors that they inflicted upon me, the Officer Youngs had the audacity to say “You better not pull the fucking bullshit that you pulled the night before and piss in my car.”  I am not paraphrasing I am quoting his literal words.
The officer from GVPD booked me for possession of drugs which I didn't have, but my possessions were clearly in evidence, he took my jewelry which he confiscated from my purse without my consent and without any warrant and placed them into the evidence box, even though that jewelry belonged to me and my daughter, I said that then and I’ll stand by it now till my last breath.
My vehicle was towed off from the premises, and my locked glove box was searched with neither my permission or any warrant. Even officer soles stated that in his report that at the beginning of the traffic stop, the car was tossed and illegally search even when the owner didn't give them her consent not, they had any warrant. It should not have even been towed from private property and there is no law that dictates that the police can do it without a warrant, which is still in possession of the towing company, but according to Ron’s Towing, it is lost but somehow still in my name with no abandonment paperwork filed by GVPD or Ron’s Towing to the state.  I feel like there are a few things to talk about, including my car, the inventory reports for my car for two separate occasions which I have yet to get after asking numerous times.
Now, please pay special attention to my arrest on the stealing charge it seems very odd that I was bonded out of Ray Co. on 8-8-2017 on separate charges and then I was made to wait for GVPD to pick me up several hours later only to be unlawfully detained. Then I was taken back to GVPD only to be sent to BSPD where they apparently shelter their felons and criminals awaiting to be transferred. I was held on a 24-hour hold where I was still being unlawfully detained for what the official reports are saying that I was already arrested for. It became even odder when I realized that I spent that much time in captivity and didn't get to meet a detective yet. The police confiscated my belongings referring them as stolen and even returned them to the alleged victim even before I was charged with a crime.
To make you realize that those items weren't stolen and were mine;
I can forward and will send pictures that I have with my daughter and I wearing the jewelry, including the cross from her Holy Communion that she worn months before the crime, I apparently committed only to be given to the incorrect owner.
You can See Photos! By clicking on it.
That is what I suffered, and I Thank you for your attention in this matter. . I know that I would be retaliated by the GVPD and would be defied with all the viciousness from them, but I will not back down and will not abandon my mission to bring these culprits forward to you, because I believe it can do that to me then they can do that to anyone. I'm very afraid not only for my own safety, my 16-year-old daughter, and every woman out there as well. Keeping the circumstances in mind and by experiencing myself at the hands of  GVPD I tried to go to them and for justice from them, and the system failed me. Although, of course, I would rather have felt safe enough to make a complaint in person, unfortunately, that is not the case without my own witnesses with me. It should be sad for all of us, especially myself who would never want another woman or girl to be mocked and harassed the way I was.  I was stripped of my car, my personal belongings, self-confidence, dignity and all faith in the Grain Valley Police Department and it's personal. Police are supposed to be our friends, our protectors but I believe some black sheep can stain an entire police department.

Transfer (Ultimate AU)
Kitty looked down at the letter in her hand.  This was the opportunity she’d been waiting for.  Now she just had to be brave enough to take it.
“-can’t say I blame them.  They don’t have good memories of this place and if they feel safer with you, they’re free to go with my blessing.”  Scott turned from Emma Frost to Kitty as she entered the room.  “You’re late.”
“I’m sorry,” she tucked her hair behind her ears.  “I got a letter that may affect our discussion here.  Excalibur, the superhero team in Europe, has invited me to join their organization.  I’m taking them up on the offer.”
“Congratulations,” said the White Queen.
“I can’t say I’m happy to lose you,” replied Summers.  “Is there nothing I can do to make you stay?”
“I’m sorry, Scott, but I’ve thought about this for a long time.  Balancing missions, my education, training the newbies and being the PR spokeswoman for the X-Men, it’s too much.  I’m afraid I’m going to have a nervous breakdown before I even reach twenty.”
“Most of that won’t go away if you join Excalibur.”
“But some of it will.  They’re not expecting me to train entire classes of newly expressed mutants for one.  And it’ll take some of the celebrity pressure off too.  There I’ll only be one out of a crowd with Captain Britain and Capitan Espana and whoever they get to fill France and Germany’s places.  And just by being in Europe, people are less likely to care.”
“It’s your decision.  Will you be going by yourself or can you take some students with you?”
Kitty sat down.  “They’ve given me almost complete carte blanche.  They did say I shouldn’t bring Piotr though.  Interpol wants to charge him for what he did when he was part of the Mafiya.  If he comes with me, Excalibur will turn him over to them.”
“He can’t cut a deal?” asked Cyclops.
“He was only an avtoritet, whatever that means.  Not high enough to have any information they’re willing to deal for.”
“I guess that’s fine.  He was willing to stay with the school anyway so that doesn’t change anything.”  The ruby-eyed man set a stack of profiles on the table.  “Let’s get started.  Firestar.”
“She can stay with you,” stated Emma.  “The Academy may not differentiate between mutants and humans but we do have standards.  Miss Allen has shown she has the improper attitude to join our school.”
“On to the next one then,” he picked up the next profile.  “Jimmy says he hasn’t decided.  Is there anyone who doesn’t want him?”
“He’s welcome to join the Academy at any time.”
“Kitty?  If you want, I’ll tell him you never want to see him again.”
“No, it’s fine.  I’m over it.  If he wants to join Excalibur, he can come with me.”
“Are you sure?  He did dump you in a pretty awful manner.”
“Yeah, but that turned out to be Jean manipulating him.  I’m not going to jump back into a relationship with him just like that, but I’m not angry at him anymore.”
“You should tell him that.  He’s been really broken up about it.”
She hesitated.  “I’ll text him later.  Who’s next?”
“Pyro.”  Scott quickly took the folder off the table.  “Nope, I’m keeping him.  He’s a good recruiter, a good trainer and hopefully, he’ll stick around after he graduates.  I need all the good teachers I can get.”  The two women just laughed.
“Next is Bishop.  Still in jail.  Not likely to be released anytime soon.  Moving on.”
“Dazzler and Angel have stated they want to stay with the X-Men but would also accept being moved to the Academy.  Emma, what are your thoughts?”
“Dazzler is fine, but Angel’s already played mole at my Academy once before.  He’s not welcome to return.”
“They’ll stay with me then.”  Another profile.  “Rogue.  She’s specifically stated she doesn’t want to be anywhere near you, Kitty.”
The Jewish girl made a frustrated hissing sound.  “I don’t even like Bobby and I certainly don’t encourage him.  It’s not my fault he can’t take a hint.  And I’m not taking him either.”
“Emma, he might do better with his attitude at the Academy.”
“If you like I can test and interview both of them.  But based at least on what I’ve seen of Bobby, he doesn’t meet our academic standards.”
“If they fail out of your program, they’ll stay with the X-Men then.”  There were only four profiles left.  “Beast and Ororo both want to leave-”  Emma grabbed the two folders.  “Accepted with pleasure!”
“Oookaaayyy then.  Now for Jean.  She’s definitely not staying with the X-Men.  Wolverine’s already tried to kill me and I’m not interested in working with the woman who cheated on me when we were engaged.”
“I’m not taking her either,” announced Kitty.  “I don’t even know why she hates me but I’m not putting up with her hostility or bullying.”
Emma just looked thoughtful.  “Do you think I should-”
“No!”  Both Kitty and Scott exclaimed.  Scott continued, “I’ll just fire both of them.  They’re very high profile, they can fend for themselves.”
“It’s kind of you,” Kitty reassured the older woman.  “But Jean has a history of undermining authority figures and she’s not any less dangerous for losing her attack dog.  Your diamond form gives you some protection from Jean’s telepathy but you can’t be like that all the time.  It’s better to just be rid of them completely.”
Scott started a new pile for just those two.  “Last one.  Kitty, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to order you to take this guy, especially since Angel, Colossus, and Dazzler will be staying with me.”
Weapon XVII flinched when someone sat down across from him.  Ever since his breakdown, kidnapping Dazzler, going off on Piotr then abusing the Banshee drug, everyone had been avoiding him.  If someone was actually going out of their way to seek him out . . . either it was someone else who wanted to chastise him for his actions or Scott had finally made up his mind to kick him out of the X-Men.  Still, there was no point in running away.  He looked up.
Oh God no, it was Kitty.  They’d been friends once before he’d gone and alienated everyone.  There had been a time when he even had a crush on her and hoped to become more than friends.  Then she and Peter fell in love, he kidnapped Dazzler and Kitty rescued her from him.  Kitty hadn’t spoken a word to him after that fiasco.  “Katherine.  What can I do for you?”  He kept his voice as neutral as possible.
“Oh, so you can speak English.”  She sat down across from him.
“I’ve been practicing ever since the disaster with Banshee.  I’m pretty sure Scott’s had it up to here with Logan and Jean, and if Jean leaves, so does the translation function in my brain.”
“Have you heard the rumors about the team disbanding?”
He swallowed.  “Yes, I have.”  The possibility of the X-Men dissolving had been preying on his mind lately, making it difficult to sleep at night.  With Professor Xavier dead, he didn’t know who would be the leader now or where the funding would come from or if they all were allowed to stay here.  Nightcrawler had nowhere to go other than the X-Men.  He couldn’t even begin to figure out where the circus he had originally been from was or hope to find the little German town he’d grown up in.  And the US was definitely growing more and more unsafe for visible mutants like him.  Maybe Emma Frost could use another bodyguard?
“Well, let me put some of those fears to rest.  The X-Men will be continuing.  Scott has stepped up to be the leader of both the team and the school.  We’re getting a grant from the government, plus most of our backers have returned.  And Professor X put the Estate in a Trust to run the school so everything will continue, albeit with fewer teachers sleeping with the students hopefully.”
The Weapon let out a sigh of relief.  The Sword of Damocles had been lifted away.  Then he tensed up again.  Just because the X-Men were still around, didn’t mean he was wanted.  “Scott’s going to announce the good news tomorrow.  However, there’s some bad news as well.  There’s going to be a lot of reorganization.  Logan and Jean were fired.  Hank and Ororo are transferring to the Academy of Tomorrow.”  She looked him straight in the eye.  “I’m leaving for Excalibur at the end of the month.  You’re coming with me.”
It took him a few minutes to process.  “Vas?”
“I said that you’ll be accompanying me to Excalibur.  Angel, Colossus, and Dazzler, they all expressed a desire not to work with you.  So you’ll be coming with me and some of the students to join the European Union superhero team.”
“Ah, um, danke.”
She leaned forward.  “Make no mistake.  This is your last chance.  If you fuck this up, Excalibur will hand you over to Interpol or the CIA or even Department K without any hesitation.  And you will be watched very carefully to see if you’ve recovered from your instability earlier.”
It was still better than being locked in a cage or thrown out on the street.  “I understand.”
Kitty returned to her meal.  “I suggest you start packing and making any arrangements soon because we’ve got less than two weeks before Excalibur comes to pick us up.  Officially, the X-Men will be sending some students to study abroad with Shroud and Nightcrawler as the course leaders.  In reality, you’ll be my subordinate.  Can you handle that?”
“Yes.  You’re a good leader.  And it’s Kurt.”
“What’s Kurt?”
“My name.”
She stared at him.  “You remember your name now?”
“Well no.  But you can’t keep calling me Weapon-XVII or Nightcrawler all the time.  Or Legolas, no matter what I’d prefer.  So Kurt.  It’s a common German name so it won’t stand out, it’s easy to remember and short too.  What’s not to like about it?”
“Hmm, fair enough.”  She thought about it for a second.  “You might as well choose a last name too.  Make things easier for Jamie when he does the paperwork.”
“In that case . . . Wagner.  Spelled with a W.  You can call me Kurt Wagner.”
She arched an eyebrow at him.  “Pronounced like a V and spelled with a W.  Less easy.”
“But also very common.  Perhaps not as common as Muller or Schmidt or Schneider.  But Kurt Wagner sounds real enough without being an obvious alias like John Doe.”
“Very well then.  I’ll see you later, Kurt Wagner.”
The last of the students had boarded the Blackbird and there was just her and Kurt on the tarmac when Kitty heard someone shouting, “Wait!  Wait!”  She turned and there was Jimmy Hudson running up.  He had a suitcase, duffle, backpack and was clearly ready to go with them.  Kurt stepped between them.  Kitty had said things were fine with Logan’s son but Kurt was taking no chances.
“Jimmy?  I thought you weren’t going to come with us.”
“I-I,” he took a moment to catch his breath.  “I procrastinated on my decision until the last minute.  But I don’t want to stay here.  I’d trust Mr. Summers with my life, but it can’t be easy teaching the son of the guy who tried to kill you.  Not to mention Jean cheated on him with me.  Even if I was mind-controlled, the whole situation’s just awkward.”  He smiled up at her boyishly.  “Can I come with you?”
Kurt half-hoped she would say no.  But Kitty just waved her hand at the blonde and let him board.  “You’re going to have to sort out the paperwork with Jamie when we get there.”
“My fault for being such a slug about it.”

Bringing your child into work wasn’t something that a lot of Garrison officers typically did – mostly because they weren’t supposed to – but this was a special case. “You see,” Her dad explained to his superior officer with a small, almost-nervous chuckle, “my wife is away visiting family. Her father is terribly ill and, well, we decided it would be better for Katie to stay here. It would be too hard for my dear Colleen to help her mother, whom is also terribly frail, take care of her father as well as keep a seven year old entertained. And it’ll only be for seven, eight weeks, at most!”
Commander Sampson eyed her wearily as her father spoke, still seeming unsure, before turning his attention back to her dad. “Are you sure that she will behave herself, Samuel?” He asked calmly.
“Oh, absolutely! I’ll keep her stuck to my hip like glue!” He promised, smiling wide and reassuringly at the other.
“Will your son also be following you along?”
“Oh, no, Matthew is away at a science summer camp until late August. Colleen should be home by then,” He said. Katie had originally gone to a science summer camp, too, but been kicked out after she stuffed another kid’s bunk with honey to play a real-life game of Ants-in-the-Pants. She was accused of being too rowdy and mean-spirited; she argued that she was standing up for herself against one of the kids bullying her, since none of the camp counselors had tried to help her at all. Samuel had stood beside his daughter, saying something about “bad press” and “negligence lawsuits”, which successfully got both Katie and the other child booted from the program.
Which had left her preening in delight. She may have gone down, but at least she took that jerk down with her.
With a slow exhale through his nose, Commander Sampson turned to Samuel again. “I’ll allow it, but make sure you keep her close at hand. The Garrison is not a daycare; it’s a military organization that trains space explorers,” He said strictly, sizing Katie up one last time, before heading back off to resume his duties.
“Thank you, Sir!” Samuel called after him before beaming down at her. He reached down and ruffled her hair before taking her hand. “Well, looks like you’re going to be getting the grand tour of the Garrison a few years early! You excited?”
“Yeah! Can I sit in for your lectures?” She asked eagerly.
He chuckled and gently steered her towards his office. “Absolutely! But do make sure to behave and stay quiet; can’t have you giving my students all the answers, now, can we?” He chuckled as they headed in. He gathered up his laptop, folders and a few other things before handing her the little messenger bag with some of her things in it. Once she had properly settled the strap on her shoulder, he took her hand and they headed along the halls towards the lecture halls.
And for the first two times she watched his lecture, she’d been enthralled. The third time, however, her interest started to wane. She tried her best to stay quiet – really, she did – but she was bored with this and flopped about in her father’s office chair. Sometimes, when he asked a question and there was a long pause between volunteers to answer, she’d let out a long, pitiful sigh. The students found this hilarious each time she did it, but she could tell her dad was reaching the ends of his patience by the time the lecture was over. “Katie, darling, you promised to behave,” He said, keeping his tone gentle as he knelt down and spun the chair around so she was facing him again.
“But I’m bored!” She whined loudly, feeling no need to tone it back now that there were so few students left in the room. The last couple chuckled a bit at her but she ignored them. She flipped around so that she was sitting in his chair upside down. “I like your lecture, but why can’t you do a different one for the next class?”
“That’s not how a teaching plan works, Katie,” He said patiently. He reached down, picked her up, and set her back down in the chair so she was seated properly. “I have to make sure all my students in all my classes are on the same page so they can work together or seek me out if they need additional help with something.”
“Showing the future head of our department a thing or two, Samuel?” A warm voice teased from the large doors leading into the classroom.
Sam chuckled and glanced over. “Hello, Hannah. And I’m just trying to convince my daughter, Katie, to behave despite being bored with my lecture for the day,” He explained, motioning the woman over. Katie thought she looked kind of familiar; an adult she’d probably seen at one of those boring work events her dad had to attend a lot. “Katie, this is Hannah Curtis. She’s one of the head researches in life on other planets.”
Katie perked up at that, eyes getting bright at that. “You mean you get to study aliens?” She asked.
Hannah giggled politely as she walked down one of the aisles to the table. “Well, so far we haven’t found any in the way you’re thinking; mostly just alien plant life. But it’s still pretty interesting stuff,” She said happily. She then turned her attention back to Sam. “I was wondering if you had a spare tablet charger. I’m working on a new project with a lot of complicated data and, well, I’ve never been good about remembering where I keep those chargers.”
Samuel chuckled and nodded, opening a drawer of his desk and rummaging through. “I swear, between you and the Douglas’, I’m gonna run out of spare charging cables,” He teased lightly, pulling out a small, bound black cable and offering it to her. “What projects are you working on right now, anyway? I heard they’d transferred you off of the Callisto research study to put you in charge of another program, but didn’t hear any specifics being mentioned.”
Hannah chuckled a bit as she fiddled with the cord. “Oh, just your run-of-the-mill research on a foreign organism located a few miles off. They think it has something to do with that meteor shower a few weeks back but I’m still not sure. You know, Samuel,” She said, her gaze shifting to Katie as she spoke before snapping back up at him, “I could take Katie with me back to my lab, if you’d like. I have some samples and tests to run that I could use a little bit of help with. She could take notes for me and maybe even get to see some of the results up close and personal.” She offered, fiddling with the cable in her hands.
Katie gasped and sat upright immediately, clutching at the arm of the chair and looking at Sam with large, pleading eyes. “Can I, Dad? Pretty, pretty please?”
He looked down at her and scowled. “Katie, darling, I told Commander Sampson that you would stay with me,” He said.
“Aw, Sam,” Hannah laughed lightly, “I’ll deal with Derek. I’m sure he won’t mind so long as she isn’t wandering the halls aimless and alone.”
He still seemed a bit unsure, turning his attention back to Katie. He reached down and gently pushed her unruly copper-tinted bangs from her face. “Do you promise to behave yourself for Hannah? Meaning you’ll mind your manners and do as your told and not act out?” He asked.
“I promise I will if you let me go with her!” She insisted, sticking her lower lip out just enough to make it quiver.
He chuckled and ruffled her hair affectionately. “Okay, you can cut it back on the theatrics. Just make sure you keep your promise to listen, because if you don’t, Hannah will bring you back to me in a heartbeat, understand?”
She beamed up and held her arms up, embracing him tightly once he leaned close enough to be reached. “I will! Thank you so much, Daddy!” She slipped out of the chair and took the hand Hannah offered to her, staring up at her excitedly. “Will I really get to look at samples if I behave?”
“Of course! Oh, and I’ll bring her back for lunch, too. I figure, depending on how interesting she finds everything, I could keep her with me after that, too, if it’s okay,” Hannah suggested.
“Let’s just see how she does between now and lunch,” Samuel said, picking her bag up off the floor and gently draping it over her shoulder, “and determine where to go from there, okay?”
“Thank you, Daddy! I’ll see you later!” She called as she walked along with the older woman, waving back at him as they headed out. She looked up at Hannah curiously as they stepped out into the hallway, weaving between the throngs of students darting here and there before the bell could chime again. “Have you ever seen a real alien before? Because my Dad says that aliens are real but that we just haven’t gotten enough proof yet.”
Hannah giggled a bit. “What if I told you that I have a real life alien in my lab, right now?” She asked, leaning down a bit and lower her voice to avoid being overheard.
“Really?” Katie nearly shrieked, eyes shining with excitement.
Hannah gently pressed a finger to her lips but giggled despite herself. “Settle down, dear. We can’t have the whole place finding out about it,” She said gently. Katie gasped quietly and clapped a hand against her mouth, nodding in understanding. “But yes, we did. It’s a small thing and we still don’t know a lot about it, but we’re doing the best we can to learn more about it and why it came to Earth.” She explained before fishing a key card from her jacket pocket and sliding it through the elevator. She let Katie enter first, then stepped in herself.
The ride in the elevator was mostly quiet, with only Katie’s excited humming to fill the void. When the doors opened, they were in a lower floor area that was filled with transparent cells with cots and toilets but nothing else. It reminded her of a scene she’d seen in a movie she and Matt had watched one night when their sitter fell asleep on the couch while their parents were out. The rooms had transparent, glass doors with multiple little holes in them for oxygen and, if she were to guess, communication. There were tons of other Garrison scientists running about, but they had swapped out their Garrison golds and olives for traditional scientist white coats. Hannah approached an area with desks to their left, already starting to shrug off her blazer. Katie followed after her, unsure of what else to do. “Let me just slip into my proper coat and I’ll take you to see it, okay, Katie?” Hannah said politely.
“Dr. Fritz, there you are! We’ve been looking all over-!” Another scientist, a younger looking fellow with hair that looked like it had just been rubbed against a balloon and wild green eyes darted over, a tablet clutched tightly in his grasp. He cut off, however, when he saw Katie and let out a terrified squawk. “Dr. Fritz!” He voice grew high and cracked with anxiety.
“Oh, settle down, Andy! This is Katie, Commander Holt’s daughter. I’m sure you remember her from the company picnic a few weeks ago, right?” Hannah said with a small wave, finally shrugging her blazer off completely and moving to grab the white coat tossed over the back of the chair. Katie waved politely at Andy before her attention shifted to a picture of Callisto on Dr. Fritz’ desk. She seemed to notice, by how she plucked it up and offered it to her. “Here, if you’d like a better look. Pretty neat, huh, Katie?” She giggled.
“Doctor Fritz, this is highly problematic! We can’t have a child wandering around here with that thing in here! What if word got out? If Commander Wickler found out what we were doing-!” He yelped again when Hannah grabbed him by the lapels of his coat and pulled him closer.
“Commander Wickler won’t find out anything if you keep your mouth shut and let me do my damn job. I know what I’m doing, unlike the rest of you,” She said, keeping her voice quiet to avoid attracting Katie’s attention. She then shoved him back and glared at him. “Now, Andy, why don’t you go make sure our guest is awake and ready for visitors? I promised Katie that she could see it for herself.” She said evenly, turning her attention and a bright smile back to the young girl beside her.
Andy still looked uncomfortable but nodded. “Of course, Dr. Fritz,” He said quietly, rapping his fingers along the tablet as he headed off.
“So you’re a doctor? Do you specialize in aliens?” Katie asked, offering the picture back to Hannah.
She smiled and nodded, calmly placing the picture back on her desk. “Indeed I am. Well, the degree technically says I’m a doctor of Biology, but I’ve always been more interested in the anatomy of foreign entities. This is the first time it’s been something more than a plant or a root. This one… This one could yield some real information about what space is like,” She said, her voice becoming awestruck the longer she spoke.
Katie smiled wider herself. She hoped that someday she could be as passionate as Hannah was about her work.
Hannah seemed to snap free of her moment and led Katie along. “Now, I want you to stay close to me. It can get a little aggressive if you get too close to the glass of its cell,” She explained as they walked. Most of the units were empty but the farthest one back was where Hannah finally stopped. “It usually tends to duck under the cot and stay in the corner, but if you look you should be able to see it’s eyes.” She advised, pointing at the area in question.
Katie looked down to see two narrowed, glowing gold eyes watching her from beneath the mattress of the small bed. She gasped and immediately scrambled down, sitting cross-legged and leaning a bit closer to the plate-glass of the cell. Hannah stepped back a bit further as she observed Katie’s behavior, going until she was nearly pressed against the glass of the empty cell across from the one the subject was being held in. “Hello,” She said with a soft gasp.
The eyes widened a bit before she could see the silhouette of whatever it was moving. She heard Hannah mumble something under her breath but she couldn’t make out exactly what she said. The figure shifted out, crawling out while staying low to the ground, and she blinked in surprise at the alien staring back at her. It’s eyes were a bright gold with slim pupils, but the eyes were set in a humanoid face of pale purple skin. There was also a mop of inky hair with two cat-like ears sticking out, the ears covered in a purple fur that match his skin. The ears also had two little tufts at the tip, the fur there a slightly darker purple than the rest. It was wearing Earth attire, which she found a little strange,  and the bright red shirt paired with tan khakis seemed like an odd fit. She also noticed a long, fluffy purple tail curling behind it and a strange collar of some sort around it’s neck.
She shifted a bit closer herself, starting to reach out to touch the glass, when Andy darted back over and gasped. “It came out!” He sputtered in alarm.
Immediately, the alien hissed violently, revealing long and sharp looking fangs, before scampering back under the bed. Hannah growled and whipped her head around to glare at him. “You simple-minded idiot!” She hissed, walking over to him.
Katie watched them for a moment then scooted a bit closer, leaning up a little so that she could speak near one of the vents. “Hello, my name is Katie,” She called lightly.
Hannah paused in her berating of Andy and watched, shifting her attention from Katie to the alien inside the cell whom had perked back up a little bit from the other speaking to him.
“I take it you haven’t spent a lot of time on Earth, but it’s good that you at least got some clothes. Hopefully it not too bad, since I’m not sure how comfy it is with your tail and all. I mean, unless a hole was cut in the back so that your tail could come out easier? I can’t really tell, since you seem to like hiding under the bed,” She said.
The alien shifted inside the cell, moving to lay down on its belly. It was the most at east that it had been since they’d found it half-dead on the side of the road nearly three weeks back.
“So, like, I take it your type of alien are kinda like cats? My Aunt Lucy has a cat that runs under the couch or the bed whenever visitors come over. She says that he’s a scaredy cat, but I think it’s just more that he doesn’t like Matt cause he pets him weird,” She said, tapping her feet together as she spoke. She leaned back a bit on her hands, getting more comfortable. “Matt’s my big brother. He’s okay when he isn’t being a total jerk. Sometimes he calls me Pidge, cause he says I’m small like a pigeon, and I hate it.” She continued to prattle on for as long as she was allowed, promising that she’d draw a picture of the new puppy they’d just gotten for him to see while she was eating her lunch.
Hannah dropped her back of with her Dad after about two hours, promising to come get her again a little later.
---------------------------------------------------------
“Dr. Fritz, I don’t understand why you brought that little girl in here. She could tell Commander Holt about the alien and blow the whistle on our research studies!” Andy squeaked out anxiously, clutching the tablet so tightly that it looked like the screen might crack. He was standing beside her desk as she turned her tablet back on, humming quietly as it loaded. He glanced down at the tablet in his hands, at the near-empty document regarding the alien they’d found. He didn’t have much to say about it other than it’s appearance and the accelerated rate at which it’s injuries had healed.
“Andy, we have a lovely little opportunity placed before us,” She said evenly, plucking out the stylus and beginning to write down some information. Added to her own list of information – which also included the alien’s hostile and volatile temperament, as well as its apparent lack of Earth knowledge or speaking capabilities – she added a few notes to her file.
“What do you mean?” He asked, trying to peer over her shoulder at what she’d written. Instead, she turned her chair around with a quick snap and pointed her stylus at him, less than an inch from touching his nose. He took a step back and gulped.
“How about instead of questioning me,” She mused, her tone sugary sweet and fatal, “you follow my orders to assure the integrity of our research? Katie Holt can be an interesting little pawn that can help us figure out where this thing came from. That kind of information could be invaluable to the Garrison.” She glared before tilting back in her seat, adjusting to reread the report she had drafted up about her research for the day.
Subject is a potential juvenile specimen of species; more data needed to confirm. Subject seems to have a higher tolerance for pain than humans; electrocution caused clear pain, but had a higher tolerance than human before pain reached excessive levels. Heightened healing element continues to be prominent factor; wounds caused by electrocution assessment seemed to heal more effectively than would heal for a human specimen once current was shut down. Healing element only seems to take effect once injury has ceased but will need to conduct further research to confirm. New assessments are being completed to determine the intelligence and amount of knowledge the subject has about Earth culture and habits. As of now, seems to recognize inflection and volume as indicators of intent of words; ability to understand the language has yet to be determined. Assessment schedule shall be properly scheduled and finalized to determine.
She smirked and picked her tablet back up. “Andy, go get a testing room and tranquilizer gun ready, would you? I want to run a few more tests on the subject’s limitations in regards to pain tolerance and the healing aspect of it before I start figuring out a proper schedule for the rest of the tests,” She said while standing up.
The other nodded and headed off, glancing back over his shoulder as she headed down along the aisle to the cell it was resting inside. Shortly after Katie had left, it seemed to go back on the defensive, its anxiety hyped up. “You must be so lonely, aren’t you?” Hannah giggled, lightly wrapping her knuckles against the glass.
A hiss that was most likely meant to sound threatening was her answer.
“Don’t worry now, little one. I think I can schedule regular play dates for you and Katie. Would you like that? Having a little friend to talk to?” She mused, pushing away from the glass to close the tablet and tuck it into one of the large inner pockets of the coat. “So long as we keep things under wraps, Katie will continue playing into our hands quite nicely. We can assess of how much use you’ll be to use. And who knows! Perhaps we’ll even be able to locate whatever kind of ship you came here on! That would certainly be a discovery worth something to Commander Wickler, maybe even keep us from getting read the riot act for keeping you under wraps!” She said with a happy sigh, pressing one hand to her chest.
If she could just make that reality, everything she’d been through would be worth it.
Andy reappeared a moment later with the gun she’d asked for, passing it over uneasily. “Dr. Fritz, I wasn’t sure what you wanted to check so I just set out a whole bunch of different options. I hope that’s acceptable,” He stammered out uneasily.
Dr. Fritz turned and smiled, a cruel little thing, and gave his cheek a little pat. “Thank you, Andy. I’ll meet you in there in a moment,” She said before pulling a small key card from her pocket. This one was different from the one she used for the elevator, a bit smaller and was a pale blue hue, so that she distinguish them and avoid getting asked questions about the smaller one. She slid it through the card reader beside the cell and beamed as the door slowly slid up.
The subject, as she had learned once before, was surprisingly quick, but luckily she was a faster shot.
----------------------------------------------
Katie had been thrilled to bits when Hannah offered to take her for half the day to make things easier on Samuel. “I can see why you wanted to bring her with you, Sam,” Hannah had said with a bright smile. She reached down and gently gave Katie’s shoulder a squeeze. “She’s such a good little helper!”
Sam stared at her surprise, blinked, then chuckled a bit. “My, you must have really been able to keep her interest then! If she doesn’t enjoy something, she tends to become a bit unruly!” He said.
“Alien plants can be rather interesting, I’ll have you know,” She teased lightly. “If it’s okay, I’d like to take her on for as long as she’s here as my helper. I could take here around the same time every day, bring her back up for lunch, take her back to my lab afterwards, and then bring her back in time for your last lecture of the day. Would that be okay?”
“So long as she wants to go and you don’t mind having her, I suppose there isn’t a problem with it,” He said, smiling at his daughter. There was comfort in knowing that she was gaining more knowledge despite not being in the camp still. At least this way he didn’t have to worry about her getting bullied by a bunch of immature little ingrates. He smiled and waved as the two of them headed back out of the lecture hall.
“Can I ask a question, Dr. Fritz?” Katie asked curiously as they walked along.
“Katie, you can call me Hannah. We’re friends, after all,” She said, her smile and voice warm to the younger beside her.
The younger beamed up at her. “Okay, Hannah. I wanted to ask about… Um… The alien,” She said, lowering her voice and mouthing out the last bit. Hannah hummed and nodded as they got into the elevator. “Well, where did you find him? Was he out attacking people? Or was he, like, eating power lines or something?” She asked curiously.
“Oh, I found it while doing some additional work. See, I had driven to a separate Garrison base to assist another researcher with examining some samples they acquired from a meteor,” She explained as she slid the card key through and began the descent. “I was driving home to my hotel late one night, and it ran out into the road from the treeline nearby. At first, I thought I had just hit a large dog or something, but when I stopped, I found that I had actually hit it. I figured this would be a wonderful chance to learn a bit more about the life forms we share the universe with.”
Katie’s brow knitted a bit at her words. “Do you think… Do you think it was lost? And that was why it ran out into the road?” She asked worriedly.
“Katie, darling, it is much better that it be here. After all, it clearly knows next to nothing about human culture or life on Earth. And the poor thing was terribly injured from being hit! If not for me bringing it here, it probably would have died. I, in a way, have saved its life,” She said calmly as they reached their floor. The doors slid open and she gently ushered Katie out and into the front room. “It’s a win-win situation for us all, really. It stays alive and well-fed; we gain more knowledge about what aliens in our universe are capable of.”
Katie nodded mutely but said nothing. Taking her silence as anticipation, Hannah hurried her along to the cell.
Andy was there, carefully shoving a tray of food into the cell through a slim slot on the floor. He looked over and plastered on a nervous smile. “A-Ah, Katie Holt! Welcome back to our neck of the woods!” He said, glancing from her to Dr. Fritz uneasily.
His response from his boss was a curt nod. “We’ll have to see if he’ll come out to eat. He hasn’t seemed too keen on having guests to talk with him while he eats,” Hannah advised Katie as she settled on the floor in front of the cell, much like she had the day before.
“Maybe none of the things you’ve wanted to talk to him before are things he wants to talk about,” Katie said as she opened her little bag and fished out her drawing pad and crayons. She flipped to a new page, opened her box, and pulled out the brown crayon first. “I mean, I know I’d be less likely to want to eat without someone to have a fun conversation with.”
A quick glance over the top of her page revealed two gleaming yellow eyes keyed in on her. Good, she had its attention. That was a start.
She turned her attention back towards her drawing as she started to drag the crayon along the pages. “So, it’s clear you aren’t from Earth. So you must be from some place really far away and really cool, huh? But I guess Earth is kinda cool to you, huh? Since you’ve never been here before?” She said. After a small pause, she switched the brown crayon for the gray one instead. “That’s one of the things me and Matt like about when we do big family trips, anyway. Getting to see all the different places we’ve never been before, I mean,” She said before lifting her head again.
The alien had crept out a bit further and settled to imitate her posture, sitting on the other side of the glass to watch her in exchange.
She smiled and giggled. “So, my name’s Katie. What’s yours?”
Silence for a beat, before the alien cocked it’s head, mouthing out its response of, “Keith.”
