stolas goetia with gender neutral!sinner!reader scenario
Tumblr media
warnings: spoilers for s2, angst, slight Stoliz, one-sided love, and possibly OOC for some of the characters.
The Goetian prince met you through Bltizy’s little assassination agency. You were an employee, specializing in reconnaissance within the human world and possessing knowledge of the mortal plane, amongst other jobs that required a more….delicate touch. Is that why you were good with knives and acrobatics? Probably. Either way, you were pleasant enough for a sinner and an easy conversationalist, much more so than his dear little imp.
In all honesty, he did not pay much attention to you until after…the incident with Striker. It had been a close call, and he had almost died if Blitzø nor you hadn’t come to his rescue. He did check his phone for messages, and only got one text from the imp. After that…nothing. He never heard from him for the rest of the day. At least he thought he thought it was for the rest of the day. The drugs that were pumped into his body made Solas drowsy. When he woke up, there was someone in the chair.
But it wasn’t Blitzø. It was you. And still dressed in those dirty, bloodstained clothes you had worn the last time he saw you before he blacked out. As soon he moved in the bed, trying to readjust himself, you immediately bolted up from your seat, bleary-eyed yet you still had the energy to help him get comfortable before setting back down.
“Welcome back.” You said in a monotone voice, releasing a low groan. He winced slightly at hearing the bones in your neck being popped back into place as you moved your head from left to right.
“How do you feel? You need me to get the nurse? Bitch hasn’t been around since the shift change…’bout three hours ago? Christ on a stick it’s hard to keep track of time. Oh yeah, before I forget,” You stood from the chair again, rummaging in your pockets before pulling out a slip of paper, holding it out to him. “Your daughter called my cell. Dunno how she got it, maybe Loona gave it to her,  but she sounded pretty damned scared. Can’t blame the poor girl.” You narrowed your eyes, mouth curling into a contemplative frown. “It’s weird that she didn’t call you first. Maybe….she was worried your…spouse would change her mind and have Striker finish the job.”
He stared at you, wide-eyed and very confused at your attentiveness. “Why?” He whispered.
“Hm?”
“Why….are you here?” He asked. “Blitzy couldn’t make time to see me, so he sent you instead.” He felt tears building up in the back of the eyes, much to his embarrassment and frustration. “Why is it that he can send an employee yet he can never face me without making up an excuse that he’s working or it’s too soon to fulfill our arrangement!?” He snapped, feathery chest heaving up and down before he quickly wiped away his face with the back of his hand.
You said nothing. Instead…you took a few steps toward him and sat on the edge of his bed. “No one sent me to check on you, Your Highness. I am here….because I was worried about you. No strings attached, no last minute requests from the boss. And I am honestly glad you are all right. You’re a Goetia, you’re stronger than tens of thousands of sinners like myself combined. But today was a close call. You could have died….and I should’ve been there sooner. No…Blitzø should have been on top of everything. I know he’s a father too, but Christ I don’t know what goes through that guy’s head sometimes.” You sighed, running a hand through your hair. “He’s a hot mess. He’s toxic.  He’s got issues….and he’s trying. That means a lot more than you think. But…if you feel like this…arrangement is going nowhere…cut yourself loose before you get too deep that you can’t pull out.”
Stolas narrowed his eyes. “What do you mean?” He asked. You didn’t answer him immediately; instead, you stood up from the bed and fluffed up his pillows, placed the piece of paper in his open palm  and strode over to the chair to collected the jacket you used as a blanket, heading towards the door but stopping with your hand hovering over the knob. You looked back at him.
“I’ve said my piece, Your Highness. Visiting hours will be over soon, but I’ll make sure the nurse stops by here before the lights go out. I wish I could help you more, believe me…it’s just….you’ve got to sort out how you feel about my boss on your own. And seriously, give your daughter a call before she starts blowing up my phone in a panic-induced frenzy.”
You then left, closing the door softly behind you, leaving Stolas to ponder on your words and…his current situation. Sighing, he leaned forward, grabbing his Hellphone off the side table and dialing the number.
What he did not realize at the time is that you did care about him, more than an assassin should care about their employer. All you wanted is Stolas to be happy, even if he might never find happiness with you.
Why else would you be leaning against the door outside of his room for almost ten minutes trying to calm your racing heart before going to find someone to check in on him?

Do you have any recommendations for self sacrificing Aziraphale fics? Kind of on the line of protective Aziraphale with a little more Aziraphale whump.
We have loads of tags for fics like these!! #sacrifice, #protective aziraphale, #bamf aziraphale, #aziraphale whump, #hurt aziraphale. Here are more to add to the extensive collections. Mind the tags on these...
I'll Shed My Blood To Keep You From Harm by ShesAKillerQueen98 (M)
Crowley and Aziraphale are two young men living on the streets in 1700s England and when Crowley is caught trying to steal from a nobleman, Aziraphale takes the blame and the punishment, public flogging. Crowley is forced to watch while his best friend, his guardian angel, is beaten and humiliated. Angsty at first, fluff comes at the end.
To the World by cal_amity (M)
The split hit Aziraphale hard. It hit Crowley harder.
I've Been Loving You by acup_oftea (NR)
The laws of physics suggested that the Bentley shouldn’t have been able to drive more than seventy-or-so miles per hour in London. The laws of physics, however, did not account for the Bentley’s strong preference for protecting certain ethereal beings who had a tendency to overthink absolutely everything save for their own personal safety. Crowley made it to the bookshop in under five minutes, his mind racing and his heart hammering as he took in the fact that he was actually coming back. He couldn’t face this, couldn’t be in this place without sinking into its familiarity, without closing his eyes and inhaling the scent of the shop, without covertly staring and staring at its owner. But he was up and slamming the car door shut without stopping, trying to calm the dull panic in his head. OR It's been seven months, & Crowley has taken to drinking himself into oblivion & solitude. But when he gets a panicked call from Muriel telling him to get to the bookshop right away, he is forced to confront certain misunderstandings he may have had as the threat of danger lurks- & he'll do anything to keep his angel safe OR The author is TIRED of reading s2 fix-its where Aziraphale is the bad guy
Fragile Strength by TakeItEezy (M)
An angel of Heaven must be completely free of sin. What happens if one breaks the rules and gives in to temptation?
On Memories and Minds by the_literal_k (T)
“Tell me… Exactly how many times now have we dragged each other back from the abyss?” “Oh I've long since lost count, angel.” Crowley would protect Aziraphale until his last. They both knew that. But it made them predictable, and being predictable was dangerous. And Aziraphale couldn't have Crowley risking his life. Not even for him; not again. Especially not if it meant going to Heaven again in his stead. They've been protecting each other since Before the Beginning; it's become core to who they are. There is something to be said for shades of gray and maybe, just maybe, the Metatron didn’t think through what it meant to separate them.
Drops of Sorrow by EdosianOrchids901 (M)
Ten years after the failed Apocalypse, Crowley is captured by Heaven. Gabriel plans to use him as bait to lure Aziraphale into a fight. Can Crowley survive captivity, and will Aziraphale be able to rescue him without walking into the trap?

prompt: the 3x13 kiss happened in s1 or s2
A/N: I feel like you all figured out my weakness for Knockdown...
Set during 2x24, A Deadly Game; Beckett and Castle didn't figure out that their victim was not a real spy quite so quickly.
-
"Good evening, 223, the informant has been identified. Ally contact will meet you at Café Moulin in 315 hours with further instructions. If compromised, return to Belvedere Castle. Aid will be dressed in black. Wear the pin. Use the following code phrase, "Aren't you Steve's friend?" Response, "No, Steve is my brother." Good luck, 223."
-
"Our victim's a spy, so we have to play the spy game," Castle muses, walking with her through the park. "Act natural."
"Castle, you are the one making weird hand signals at me," Beckett huffs.
"At least I look like I'm engaging in conversation and not scanning the trees for killers," he mutters, reaching for her hand and tucking it in his elbow. "There. Realism."
She rolls her eyes, but - much to his delight - does not yank her hand back. "What are we supposed to be, a couple on a romantic stroll?"
"Um, duh. Why else would we be walking through a park together at 2 p.m. on a Monday? For fresh air? If whoever killed our spy is watching, they already saw us at the crime scene this morning."
"Maybe it's pointless to even try playing this off," Beckett mutters, but her hand still remains relaxed and curled in the crook of his elbow.
"The boys are investigating the cafe, we sweep the park." He shrugs. "Can't hurt. Besides, it's a nice day."
She cuts her eyes to him, but her body remains a present heat at his side as the castle comes into view. They stroll up the stone steps leading to the main terrace of the castle. The wind is more prominent at this higher point in the park, the water of Turtle Pond surrounding the Belvedere rippling under the clouded sky.
The pavilion is barren at this time, the cool bite of spring still prominent enough in the air to discourage lingering visitors.
"Castle, ten o'clock," she murmurs, noting the man in black strolling in solidarity along the castle's perimeter, climbing up to the second level. "Think that might be our guy?"
He shrugs, following the other man's lead. "Only one way to find out."
But just a moment later, Esposito's voice crackles in her ear and Beckett's fingers tighten at his arm.
"We made contact in the café. The castle meeting is a trick, if you show up there trying to make contact with the dude in black, the jig is up. Fall. Back."
But they can't fall back. The guy is clocking them over his shoulder right now.
Kate shoves Castle into a curve of stone railing, using the nearest wall of the castle as cover. Spinning to face him with hands on his chest and body pressed up against him, she meets his gaze with a calm expression and a wild gaze.
"You hear that?" she murmurs. He nods, heart accelerating from both her proximity and the sudden threat. "We just play this off, okay?"
"Okay, I have an idea." She doesn't hesitate, her eyes so trusting on his, even as he relaxes his face into a smile and slides his hands into the back pockets of her jeans.
Her expression is priceless, wide eyes and parted lips, but she's smart, knows exactly what to do.
A very unlike-Beckett giggle flutters past her lips and she laces her arms around his neck, pressing her full weight against him.
"Is he watching us?" she grins, but her teeth catch on her bottom lip.
Castle leans forward to whisper in her ear, using the curtain of her hair to hide his gaze as he flicks it to the man. The guy is watching them from above.
Creepy.
"Yep," he mutters, drawing back to touch his hand to her face. Oh, and that startles her. "Play it cool, Beckett."
She huffs at him and leans in closer, impossibly close. He can smell the sweetness of her body lotion, the sharp bite of vanilla in her perfume.
"My bad for not loving the idea of a potential sniper watching us," she growls, but her hands are slipping down his sides, slithering beneath his jacket. His breath hitches and she arches an eyebrow. "Be cool, Castle."
"I..." Her eyes are on his mouth. He swallows hard. "Am."
Fine. Two can play it this game. While trying to survive being murdered.
He checks the potential killer once more, still staring at them like a peeping tom.
"My idea just got a little dumber but also a little more foolproof."
"Well, what are you waiting-"
He curls his hand at the back of her neck, holding her wide eyes, alive with fear and surprise and heat sparking like gold around her pupils, and then she's letting him draw her in.
She fists her hands in the sides of his shirt, as if bracing herself, but her lips are soft and willing when he presses his mouth to hers. A small hum vibrates against his lips, a sigh that flutters like relief from her mouth, and he feels some of his restraint, his careful, tender restrictions when it comes to Kate Beckett, slip away.
Rick lifts his other hand to her face, cradling her cheek as he kisses her more boldly, the feather light brush of his lips over hers deepening into a firm caress, a slow drag of his tongue to the seam of her mouth.
Her hands move, snaking from beneath his jacket to traipse up his chest, clutch at his shirt collar. Her mouth is suddenly alive beneath his, her body like a wave eager to rise, and he holds her as she crashes into him.
When she moans, a dirty little purr, he forgets everything except the feeling of Kate Beckett.
He spins her, swallowing her gasp as her spine connects with the railing, soothing the clash with his palm spanning her lower back, crushing her hips against his.
"Fuck, Castle," she groans around his tongue, raking fingers through his hair. "He's gone, he's gone."
She's gasping against his lips, but he's slow to let her go, to tear his mouth away from hers.
"Good," is all he says, moving his lips to her jaw, scaling the harsh bone until he tastes the throbbing beat of her pulse beneath his open mouth.
She mewls and shoves at his chest, but her hand is clawing at the back of his neck, holding him to her - her body and mind at war with what to do with him.
"Uh guys," Esposito's voice rattles to life in her ear once more and she startles hard in his arms. "I think we may have figured some stuff out here. Meet us back at the Twelfth."
Kate sucks in a deep breath and radios back, "Noted. On our way."
He's impressed by how calm, how steady, her voice is when her body is trembling against him. He whines when she tries to shrug free of him, earning a fierce glare.
Hot. So hot now that he knows how fierce her mouth can be on his.
"Castle, we gotta go," she pushes, straightening against him, hands slack against his chest now.
He's not ready to go yet. Not when he spent all weekend building up the courage to ask her to his beach house in the Hamptons and all he gets in return are coy smiles and sidelong looks he doesn't understand.
"I was serious," he says, earning the flicker of her attention for a moment longer. "About coming with me to the Hamptons this weekend."
"Oh, Castle," she sighs, pressing a hand to her eyes. "Just because we - this doesn't mean-"
"You kiss Demming like that?"
Her hand drops and her eyes flare towards him.
"Rick," she warns.
"I knew it would be good, Beckett, but I had no idea you'd be so eager. The way your teeth tugged on my-"
"Stop it, that is not-"
"Almost like you've been waiting to kiss me as long as I've been waiting to kiss you," he husks, tilting his head, lowering his eyes to her mouth. God, he already wants to kiss her again. "So I gotta know, do you kiss Demming like that?"
"That's none of your business," she mutters, but the fight isn't in her anymore. She's distracted, her throat bobbing as she flicks her eyes up from his mouth. "You and I are-"
"What?" he interrupts, placing both hands on the railing, on either side of her hips. Trapping her. "What are we, Kate?"
Her lips purse, eyes blazing with indecision.
"I know what I want to be," he muses when she fails to respond. "Do you?"
He pushes off the railing, bends to snag the scarf he managed to shove from her neck, and turns to walk on ahead. The catch of her fingers in his jacket reels him back in, jerks him back into place against her. Kate's mouth on his is hot, certain, and he groans against her, kisses her back instinctively.
"No," she husks, lips moving over his as she speaks. "But maybe I'd be willing to figure it out. This weekend. On a beach."
His heart could explode with joy, catches on fire when she scrapes her teeth over his bottom lip. Oh, he may not survive a weekend with her.
"But first, we need to finish this case and I - I need to talk to Tom," she admits, drawing back just enough to knock her forehead against his in a kind of intimacy that has the heat between them simmering to warmth.
Castle nods, reaching up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear, brush his thumb to her swollen lips.
"I can wait," he swears to her, taking a resolute step back. "But just know, I'm not going to be able to stop thinking about that - this."
Her cheeks flush, but she's smirking as she steals her scarf back. "Yeah, well, me either, Castle."
"Hurry," he murmurs, grabbing her hand and starting towards the steps that lead back into the park. "We need to get back to the precinct and solve this case. You'll need time to pack that swimsuit."
She hums as she fixes her scarf around her neck and slips past him.
"Who said anything about a swimsuit?"

hey what’s up hello okay so i finally just finished s2 e52 of dndads (had a very crazy work week so was listening in bits and pieces) and here’s the thing is that im also currently relistening to the whole season and earlier in this week, the most recent episode i finished, was halt and catch fireball, and before that ya know was mrs. swallows oak garcia’s home for peculiar teens or whatever that one is called where they are just. at normal’s house and we got to actually get to know rebecca a little bit and i have got to say that i don’t know if i could’ve picked a more painful and wild older ep to listen to as a precursor to dood riddance i really don’t!!! literally half of the shit in dood riddance just circles back to that arc in the swallows oak garcia home and it’s CRAZY
like first of all. the red vines, which they called twizzlers the entirety of e52 which was MADDENING as a person who legit just finished e30/31 where the red vines were introduced
but then like. e31 is where taylor gets the anime sword from nick!!! that he loses in e52!!!
there were a few other things that i’ve forgotten in the half an hour since i finished the ep because my brain is a sieve on a good day and i’m just getting home from two back to back 13 hour shifts (with an extra 1hr10/20 each day for the commute) so the brain machine is so fucking broke rn
but mainly. i wasn’t loving e52 esp after dood left i just was not vibing with it, i feel like the vibes were off in the room in a way that translated into the ep for a bit there, but then anthony in those last like three minutes brought it back around and with the roll of rebecca??? after i legit JUST finished listening to the eps that feature her the most prominently and like truly showcase not only normal’s relationship w his mom but also, as is said several times in e30/31 and their teen talks, just how similar normal IS to his mom and how he really clearly is a total momma’s boy and very much so seemed to be a kid who sought solace with his mom more than anyone else in his family and just. having legit JUST reestablished that in my own, made the end of e52 DEVASTATING for me in a way that idk if it was for other ppl??? idk haven’t checked the fandom yet im very disconnected this season but just.
like
i think that okay so we have ten parents it could’ve been, right? and five of those are the kiddads, and none of us want to see them die, so in that moment when anthony was telling us what was gonna happen, obviously my instinct was like “oh god don’t do this don’t do terry jr again but truly permanent” and then my next instinct was that it would be potentially even MORE awful if it was scary’s dad because finally there he is and that’s ALL she wants and for willy to take that moment from her would be INSANE and then (mind you this was my thought process over the course of literally 10 seconds, my brain is ping ponging in my head and has been since the second i got in the car to head home i need to sleep) and THEN my next thought was, oh god, but how fucked up would it be if it were marco??? oh god, how fucked up would it be if it were cassandra?!?!?!?! and then it was time for the roll and truly in those brief seconds basically my brain flicked through every potential victim and said “oh god THAT one would be the WORST”, EXCEPT for veronica and rebecca, and it made the hit of it being rebecca who was low down on my instinctual list to think of but then the second he said her name i was immediately ricocheted back to earlier in the week when i was listening to halt and catch fireball and mrs. swallows oak garcias home and how many emotions i had about normal and his mom just relistening to those episodes and then the fact that i DIDNT think to worry about her just
all of that combined to make that a CRITICAL HIT FOR ME OKAY like i am SO fucked up over this truly that was WILD and i applaud anthony burch for it and now am excited for the finale even though ive spent the last three eps just dreading it for several reasons but now im excited and devastated and i love that
anyways. that was word vomit i just NEEDED to get this out because the connections between those two episodes really will not stop hitting me in the head and i need to impart that onto SOMEONE. if u read this. ur a real one. rip rebecca swallows oak garcia you were a legend and i am so sad about u

Eve Best as Farah Dowling I Fate: The Winx Saga S1 - S2
I was meant to post this when the one anniversary of season 2 dropped but life happened. (Little bit of a rant coming just fyi)
So the show got cancelled (boo!) and well, this happened. I have to admit this one really hurt. Ugh. I knew this was a possibility since Eve was working on HOTD and schedules were tough especially since they were still protocols to follow. But the writing of it all just made it ten times worse.
At least we got to say goodbye to her in a way in the show, and I know that hug was not only for Bloom but for all of us in this corner of the fandom, the ones who flooded Bryan and Fate's insta accounts with the hashtag 'bringfarahback', I just know they did all of this to give us some sort of closure and while it wasn't what most of us (certainly not me lol) expected at least we got to hear her as Farah one more time.
While I did enjoyed some aspects of S2 (mostly Terra and the fact that we got to see Rob and Ken more on screen) and saw improvements from the first one, sometimes it did feel like a different show than what we first saw. I was left kinda disappointed with the way they handled some characters and their storylines. Sam? What was that?
And don't even get me started on Saul's lack of reaction towards Farah?! I won't ever understand it. And I'm not saying this because I am a shipper but the woman that you fought alongside for years, was friends with for decades died and gave us absolutely nothing? Not a single reaction? Ok. (I have a headcanon to explain this otherwise it just hurts my soul lol)
And hello? The fact that the season was meant to have one more episode and it was scrapped?
It's like they couldn't figure out if they wanted to go full on with this version of the show or go full cartoon version or a mix of both and the result of it is what we got. I really hope that the fans of the cartoon get what they want from a live action soon.
But hey, I got attached to this group of magic fairies (and their teachers lol) and I do miss them.
I could talk about this for hours, but I'm gonna stay with all the positive this show gave me, which is some pretty cool people I got to talk to and fangirl with and all those months we spent theorizing and talking about our favorite trio. When I say I love our corner of the fandom I really do mean it.
PS: I was sure that if the show kept going she would've of come back one way or another, maybe in a future season. But hey, she will be alive and well in all of our fics :)

The other day I read through all your officer noodle/ uncle Phil Callahan au posts and god!!!! How that would change (but also not!) the Dynamic S1 & S2 especially. Like Steve is the only kid without any parent on screen who is In His Corner. He’d finally have an Adult who gives a shit and, while he may not Like Steve, loves him & would be able to say ‘why is this teen getting the shit kicked out of him every 6 months’ and make sure he’s actually getting medical treatment every time he gets his shit rocked lol. Also the angst potential of Callahan & his mom (Steve’s grandma) realizing his sister abandoned them when she found a rich husband/ family but now she’s abandoning her own kid like she did them and like, ‘fuck is he my responsibility now if she’s not even in the country??’ Idk, would love to hear if you (or anyone else!) have any more Thoughts abt it!
I have thoughts! This is kinda long.
Phil was never particularly close with his sister, but the six-year age gap between them never felt wider than it did when he saw his nephew for the very first time. He was twelve, gangly and awkward, and his legs hurt all the time from growing, but he didn’t feel like an uncle.
Everybody said that he was an uncle now, but Uncle was a grown-up word and Phil was just a kid. He thinks that Mom is a grown-up word too and that just because Angie was eighteen and married, that it didn’t make her an adult.
When he saw her, tired and exhausted, holding her little bundle of baby like she didn’t quite know what to do with it… it felt like she was just playing pretend. He didn’t think that she should be having a baby or that she should be married to twenty-five year old Richard Harrington no matter how good his job was, but that was what happened.
Phil was technically the first man – boy – to hold little baby Steven because Richard had stepped out to make a call and didn’t come back until an hour after Steve was born. He had lipstick on his collar, wasn’t particularly interested in the baby, and Phil was left with this sinking feeling that they were all going to fail this kid.
Phil graduated from high school, tried college, dropped out, joined the police force, and that feeling remained there. It never really went away – not when Angie stopped coming around for holidays, not when they went five years without hearing from her, and not when he found out that she left her ten year old home alone while she followed her husband out of the country.
Phil’s dad died when he was young and he didn’t really remember much about the man, but he knew that he must have been a fierce man because that fierceness lives inside of Angie, or maybe it was just something that Richard Harrington put there. Their mother was not fierce. She was timid and kind, and she didn’t put up a fight when Angie came to collect her child after a week because she didn’t know how.
Angie said a lot of hateful words that day – mostly to Phil – and Richard threatened worse, but Steve didn’t cry when he was dragged away even though he looked like he wanted to. Phil was put on a week’s suspension after Richard threatened to sue the police department for harassment, and life went on.
Phil always pictured a life where he left Hawkins but it never came to fruition. He never moved out of his mother’s house. He made plans to but they fell through when her health took a turn. He stayed. He slept in the same bed that he had his whole life, he continued his work at the police department under Hopper, made a life-long friend out Calvin Powell, and he did not check in on his nephew. Though maybe he should have.
Phil’s interactions with Steve were few and far between and each one filled with more disdain and attitude than the one before. He saw him running out of parties that the police broke up, grinning through the window of his daddy’s car when he was pulled over for speeding, and he saw him beaten halfway to hell sitting in the waiting room after Will Byers was found.
“Did a nurse look you over?” Phil asked, crouching down to catch Steve’s eyes when it was just the two of them and a sleeping Ted Wheeler left in the waiting room. Steve squinted at him and shrugged, but otherwise didn’t respond. “You could have a concussion – you probably do.”
“I deserved it.”
“Yeah, I know,” Phil said because he probably did. He put his hand on Steve’s knee to lift himself back up but stopped, “God, you’re shaking like a leaf. Are you-“
“Just shut up, okay?” Steve snapped at him. He looked angry and panicked for a second, and Phil was left with that sinking feeling of failure again. “I’m sorry. I’m just – I’m sorry. Just – I’m tired.”
Callahan went to get Steve a cup a water and came back to an empty chair. Steve cleaned up his act after that and then Billy Hargrove happened. Steve was in the hospital with a concussion, cracked ribs, and three broken fingers, and neither Angie nor Richard answered the goddamn phone. Fall passed into winter, spring, summer, and Hopper died.
Hopper was dead and the mall was in flames, and the only goddamn thing that Callahan can see is his nephew beaten half to hell again. Steve’s on a stretcher with a shell-shocked look, and when Callahan approached, Steve startled so violently that it looked like everything hurt.
He asked what happened and Steve told him with a choked voice that Hopper was, uh. That Hopper was gone. And Phil asked if Steve was okay and he said in barely a whisper, “No.”
Phil took Steve home that night. He made up the bed in Angie’s old room for his nephew and the Robin girl that he insisted had to stay with him, and he knows that he’s missed a lot – a lifetime – but he vows to himself that nothing else was going to happen to this kid anymore.
He doesn’t pick up the phone this time.

Had the idea of there being kind of a hive thing with cocoons attached to it somewhere in the Upside Down. Like, Steve finding it, seeing something move around it one of the cocoons. Out drops Kas/Vampire!Eddie. They fight and maybe Steve ties Eddie up with a jacket and throws him over his shoulder. Eddie is still flopping around, and Steve comes back to the group. He's kind of dirty and beaten from the fight, with little splashes of blood on his white shirt, the thigh of his jeans, his hands, possibly some in his hair, and his cheeks.
Another scenario could be that there is an opening in the hive. Steve goes in it, leaving the rest outside with Nancy, and finds Eddie sitting on a rock and twiddling his thumbs. Steve sits by him, but Eddie doesn't seem to remember him or himself. Eddie then kisses him after mumbling something like "pretty." And then, it all comes back to him. He's really confused. I haven't thought this was out entirely.
Idk just give me a hive kind of like the tunnels in s2.
That would be awesome???
Like, let's say that someone in the group gets a bad feeling. Paranoia, maybe, or maybe they're growing more sensitive to the things of the Upside Down. Hop isn't healthy enough to investigate, so Steve takes up that mantle. They find the tunnels just like they did in s2, but instead of demodogs, there's these.... Pods, everywhere. It's nasty as hell and Steve immediately herds the kids who refused to listen to him out of the tunnels.
But the kids are magnets for trouble and physically incapable of letting well enough alone, so Steve decides to run damage control before one of them inevitably gets hurt. He goes down into the tunnels alone like an idiot, armed with a flashlight and his walkie. A few hours of exploring brings him to what he thinks is a hub of some sort. It is, as I said, nasty as hell, and Steve is ready to go home, but one of the pods is glowing, something inside shifting like it's fighting to get out, and whatever it is could be dangerous, so Steve decides to hatch it himself, pop that thing open and just fight whatever comes out.
Only what pops out is almost definitely Eddie Munson. A weird, pointy-eared, fanged Eddie Munson, but that's definitely Eddie, and for a moment Steve is so shocked and relieved to see him alive that he forgets Eddie just popped out of something that belongs in a sci-fi. Eddie gets the drop on him, so there's ... An embarrassing amount of shrieking as Steve fends off the attack, followed by an awkward amount of time soothing the half-feral creature he'd tied up with his sweater. Actually, that hadn't been a bad idea- Monster Eddie seems to calm faster, shoving his nose into the fabric and making weird noises that sound like he's trying to speak to him. Steve decides that he's done dealing with this. He's just- there is a line he'd drawn, and it's somewhere behind him, and coaxing some Upsidedown Monster Version of a guy he may or may not have had a crush on out of Fight Mode is definitely crossing that line. He carries Eddie back to his car.
As soon as Eddie is mostly comfortable, Steve pulls out his walkie and radios Dustin. "Hey, Henderson, I found this weird lookin', uh, cat? Meet at mine tomorrow morning." He reports. Dustin responds immediately.
"Why are you telling me about some cat, Steve? Are you going to keep it or something? Over."
"I think we should keep it. It's kinda- uh, bitey right now though, so that's why I said wait until tomorrow."
"You're supposed to say 'over,' over."
"Oh my- fine, whatever. My place, tomorrow. Ten. Over."
"10-4, over and out." Steve snorts a little at just how seriously Dustin takes his radio chatter.
Dustin is delighted to find out Eddie is alive, as is the rest of the Party (although they are a bit shocked to see he'd been shifted into a vampire-esque monster). Eddie, now that he isn't fighting for his life- or maybe now that Steve has his arms tied securely- seems more than happy to let things happen to him. He chitters as Dustin, Lucas, Mike, and Max fawn over him, makes those weird growling noises as Robin tries to talk herself into being totally cool with the claws and fangs and subvocal communication, and melts into a puddle of churrs and purrs and happy grumbles when Steve carefully washes his hair. He does so well that the Party decides to untie him-
Eddie grabs Steve by the throat and holds him for about three lifetimes seconds, as if to assert that he did not like being tied up, and then reverts back to a mostly tame being. After that, Eddie likes to follow Steve around the house, happy to observe until something in the wind changes or whatever motivates goblin people like Eddie, and then he spends about ten minutes chasing Steve down, biting the shit out of him, and parading around the house like he'd done something praiseworthy.
El tries to offer her help, but after much talk, the Party decides to try and bring Eddie back to himself the old-fashioned way. It's a bit awkward, if only because Steve is insistent that they treat Eddie like he's Eddie. Steve becomes Eddie's Person, for a while, because they'd all agreed not to tell Wayne until they could get Eddie back to himself (or at least mostly back to himself).

Hello I am curious about “we’re not friends.” (because: who is not friends? [I have some guesses]) and “there are only victims of virtue here” because that is a banger title
oh man okay a VERY COOL KID in my inbox LETS GO
11. we're not friends i blame entirely on @moocowmoocow writing this molly/karen femslash february fic that i happened to read right as I was getting to the karen/danny arc in s2 like honestly it might have been literally the first FAM fic i ever read just blindly opening the tag and it gave me some kind of brainworm i could not get rid of. {there really are so many people this title could apply to sooo curious about the guesses}
Tiny snippet:
"Oh! I can come back another time. It's nothing urgent." "Nonsense. He'll be home..." Molly waved a vague hand. "Sometime. Eventually. You can come in. Have a drink. Smoke. Both." Nervously, Karen stepped into the Wayne-free Cobb residence after Molly. "Well, if you're sure he'll be by soon." "Didn't say that." Molly lit a cigarette. Offered the pack. Karen used two fingers to press it away. "No thank you." Seconds ticket by as Molly smoked, leaning idly against the frame of the kitchen doorway, watching her. Karen swallowed and wrung her hands. "If it's going to be a while I can really—" "It really bothers you, being here with just me." Karen's mouth fell open. "No, I— Well, there's no reason for you and I to— You're Ed's friend," she said a little sharply. "Wayne and I are friends. It's... a little odd, but it makes sense, given your— Given his—" "Given Wayne's the astronaut wife." Something about that made Karen flush.
4. there are only victims of virtue here is... margo x irina. i am pretty sure i am never going to post this fic so the fact that there are more than 20,000 words of it is completely inexplicable the margo in russia arc really just hit me like a truck.
its a mix of expanding on a bunch of season 4 itself and an exploration of what might happen if irina gets to decide star city isn't through with Margo after the season ends after all.
here's one early bit of it tacked onto the night after the coup
Her flat is unwelcoming when she stumbles in at quarter to ten. It should be relief, taking off her coat, unwrapping her scarf, fumbling her way into the shower to finish washing the blood out of her hair. She should feel safe now.
She doesn’t. She sees the dark spots in the corners of her shower she’s never been able to scrub away. The flecks on the vinyl curtain she should have replaced months ago. The crack in the cheap mirror whose dingy glass manages to make her look paler than she is. Levering herself down into her bed, it’s not her old life she’s comparing it to. She’s lived in worse. This place has multiple rooms, a functional television, even an out-of-tune piano. It’s not like she’s regressed to her bare bones fresh-out-of-college apartment she never even furnished for preference of furnishing her closet-sized office.
Her broken glasses make a concerning clicking noise when she sets them down on the bedside table. She turns out the light without looking and groans her way into a position that only aggravates every single muscle that’s been tugged the wrong way in the last twenty-four hours, but doesn’t seem like it’ll prevent her from falling asleep. It’s not even that she can’t feel safe in this part of the city anymore, after being forcibly dragged away.
It’s the itching, straining feeling that she shouldn’t be here.
That she was exactly where she was supposed to be three hours ago. Before two of Director Morozova’s silent, scowling men drove her home.
In an empty Roscosmos building scattered with the remnants of its last guard—half-finished cups of coffee, papers strewn across desks and floors, a single broken briefcase leaning up against the knee of the cosmonaut in the mural in the main lobby. Where Irina had said, “I expect you back here tomorrow, Ms. Madison.”
Margo—rattled and bruised and bloody and exhausted as she was—had said, “Are you sure you wouldn’t like me to… stay?”

I know this has already been said somewhere but Byler has already been Murray'd just not in the way he usually does it.
On the way to Alaska he says, "I'm not exactly an expert in parenting but for what little it's worth, I think you did the right thing. The responsible thing. Your children, Bless their mischievous souls, they like to get involved. This way, what? They play too much Nintendo, eat too much junk food, smoke some ganja, pound some beers, experiment sexually. I mean really, what's the worst that can happen."
It's very interesting that he said this because these are all things that mostly the boys on the show have canonically done (with some exceptions)
- Your children like to get involved?? Yes that's literally why anyone is still alive lmao
-Play too much video games? Not specifically Nintendo but s2 opens with Mike literally stealing money from Nancy to go to the arcade. Plus, the series opened with them playing a game that took ten hours and Mike still begged for more time.
-Eat too much junkfood? When El spies on Mike after their break up, there is a table full of junkfood trash beside them, and Mike is chowing down on some Doritos.
-Smoke some ganja? Johnathan and Argyle are stoned out of their wits and barely hold a conversation so that's already going on and usually it isn't long until younger siblings partake too.
-pound some beers? Nancy did that at this age, Lucas did that the episode before (I think)
-Experiment sexually? I was floored that he said this because the only time I've ever heard it was when someone refered to queerness and usually just as innocent as kissing. And I find it interesting that he said it because they left before Mike even tried to make up with El and the last thing they saw was her storming to her room, that only seems to point to Mike and Will since Johnathan and Argyle were almost too stoned to function.
Murray had Will on his investigation board so I can only assume that he looked into their lives quite a bit, at least enough to draw the conclusion that it was a possibility that Will could've been hate-crimed. And for this man, who was previously a total recluse that held nearly everyone that stepped on his doorstep at gunpoint to zoom over to California asap when there is just the mere idea that Hopper might still be alive and Joyce needs his help, means that he's developed an emotional closeness with Joyce. At least. Especially since he's willing to be on the phone with her for a long period of time and yell in a panic when she gets quiet. Which means, there is a possibility that he could know. He knew about J4ncy and J0pper, be probably picked up on Byler immediately but this is just a theory.
I won't even get into my biased perspective that Murray feels queercoded and seems to have no interest in women but russian men and that alone would be enough for him to know about Byler since it would be an experience he would have had as a gay man.
Anyway, the point is, Byler has already been Murray'd and I love that for us lol

Song Mingi : Burning Desire S2 (Part 2/3)
Pairing : Song Mingi (Ateez) and named character (Moon Aeri)
_____________________________
Tumblr media
Aeri : so what's the plan then?
Mingi : oh, I was going to leave all that up to you actually.
Aeri took a bite of her dinner with a look, mingi smiling as he said
Mingi : okay fine. Well, I have intel as to where han's moved himself and the rest of his army to. And I also know that san does not live at the camp there, he's somewhere else.
Aeri : somewhere else?
Mingi : mhmm, any guesses as to where that is?
Aeri : wherever his daughter is, definitely.
Mingi : bingo. So you're getting yourself there, and I'm sure you are capable of killing a few tens of soldiers, your majesty?
Aeri smirked, having a bite of her salad as she said
Aeri : most definitely.
Mingi : the guards there will be less, as less as it could get because he'll want less people to know about his daughter. You kill them without san noticing, get in to his room without his daughter noticing, take your time with him saying whatever, kill him off with a hidden weapon and then get out.
Aeri : sounds easy. Do I have backup?
Mingi : yes, me.
Aeri stared at mingi as he had a bite of his chicken nonchalantly. Oh he was really trusting her with this.
Aeri : seriously?
Mingi : very.
Aeri : and uh, what's your plan? With han?
Mingi : lure him out of the camp by saying that you've got yourself lost in the woods.
Aeri : me? You're dragging me in there too?
Mingi : that's the only way he'll come alone, your majesty. He thinks low of women-
Aeri : doesn't everyone?
Mingi cleared his throat as he said
Mingi : yes and that's what I want to exploit. He's going to come into the woods alone, so that he can get his hands on you easily. He believes you to be weak, so he won't warn anyone. But instead of you, he'll find me. I'll kill him, and bring his head to the camp with all my men. Anyone who fights against, we'll have them killed. But seeing as their loyalty lies with san and not han, they won't do much. They'll be happy they avoided war.
Aeri : and when they realize that I killed san?
Mingi : I'll have all the men killed before that.
Aeri hummed, taking another bite of her food as she said
Aeri : sounds fine.
Mingi : thank you, I try.
Aeri smiled as she continued eating, mingi letting out a breath as he kept his fork down before asking
Mingi : why do you not eat meat?
Aeri : in order to not kill animals. I believe every innocent living being has the right to live, including animals. Hunting them for food, takes them away from their loved ones. Animals have emotions too.
Aeri looked up as mingi suddenly stood up from his seat, walking over to aeri as he sat on the seat next to her. Aeri frowned in confusion as mingi said
Mingi : feed me.
Aeri : the…salad?
Mingi : yes, I want to taste it.
No one had ever eaten the food she had had, no one had even bothered asking aeri why she ate only veg. Aeri sighed as she brought a spoon full of fruits to mingi, him eating it with a small hum.
Aeri : is it good?
Mingi smiled as he turned towards the maids that were standing away from them before saying
Mingi : I will have only plant-based foods from now, no meat shall ever sit on this table ever again. That is an order.
Aeri's eyes widened as the maids bowed, mingi turning back to look at her as she said
Aeri : mingi no, you love meat-
Mingi : I love you more. And if you're going to have no meat, then neither will I.
Aeri : but-
Mingi : shh, I've made my decision. Now give me more of that salad.

A day later :
Mina looked around the palace gardens as she used the small candle light to navigate herself through the thick bushes, heading towards where han had asked her to meet through a secret letter few hours ago. Mina knew this was wrong, but what had been written in the letter did not allow her to make her own choices. The life of her children were in that cruel man's hands.
Han : so you've come.
Mina paused on her tracks as she turned around, han stepping out of the bushes as he walked close to her. Mina pressed her lips together as she asked
Mina : what do you want?
Han : I need you to do something.
Mina : what is it?
Han pulled out a vial filled with purple liquid from his pocket as he held it out for mina to take before saying
Han : it's poison, more like sleeping pills though. Put this on the empress' dinner plate the day after tomorrow, and I shall leave your children alone.
Mina : what is it going to do to her? Is it going to kill her?
Han : oh of course not, I still have uses for her, not her dead body. It's only going to force her to sleep throughout the full night, without any of her senses intact. She's going to be fine the next day.
Mina looked at the vial for a few seconds before letting out a breath, taking it from han's hand before pushing it inside her pocket.
Mina : fine, consider the job done. But if anything happens to my children, I'm going to kill you myself.
Han smiled as mina walked away, her eyes worried and tense. Han scoffed as he mumbled under his breath
Han : as if anyone can.

A day later :
Aeri opened the door to mingi's study, her eyes falling on mingi whose head was rested against the table, his eyes closed and a cold cup of coffee lying next to him. Aeri sighed as she closed the door behind her, walking towards mingi as she stared at him. And unknowingly her hand went to his messy hair, slowly smoothening it down as mingi hummed in his sleep, unconsciously moving closer to her hand.
And even then aeri did not take it away, the feeling of his silky hair on her hand almost bringing her comfort. That was until mingi opened his eyes, aeri quickly taking her hand away as she stepped back. Mingi blinked his eyes as he looked up, his eyes still hazy and sleepy as he mumbled
Mingi : aeri?
Her name was definitely meant only for him to say it.
Aeri : sleeping like this is going to cause you neck pain, and tomorrow is an important day. Sleep on the bed.
Mingi smiled as he sat straight before asking
Mingi : are you worried for me, your majesty?
Aeri rolled her eyes as she said
Aeri : having you die tomorrow because you can't move your neck around would cause too much unwanted stress for me. And stress causes hair fall, so, no, I am not worried for you I am worried for my hair.
Mingi chuckled as he said
Mingi : I'm worried too.
Aeri : about your hair?
Mingi : about you. I…it's not that I don't trust you but now that I think about it all, I'm scared.
Aeri : scared of what?
Mingi : of losing you tomorrow. What if something goes wrong and san does something to you? Maybe I should've just let you stay safe in the palace while I go out and fight the war.
Aeri : you told me I was the empress, mingi. And that this was my nation as well. Then I will fight the war for it too, I will not let you do it alone.
Mingi sighed, taking a paper from his desk as he held it out for aeri to hold before saying
Mingi : my will.
Aeri : your…will? Mingi you aren't 65-
Mingi : if I die tomorrow, during the war, you'll need written proof to show others that I hand my kingdom over to you completely, right? That's what this is.
Aeri : you won't die tomorrow.
Mingi : one can never be too sure.
Aeri took the paper from mingi before throwing it onto the fire that was burning in the fireplace, her eyes still focused on mingi as he stared at the now burning paper with wide eyes
Aeri : you cannot die tomorrow, mingi. You have to come back to me, that is an order.
Mingi looked up at aeri as he said, a glint of despair in his eyes
Mingi : so you could just send me away from China after a few days? Never to return? What difference would it make for you if I died tomorrow, your majesty? Wouldn't it bring you more profit considering that you would get Korea too all for yourself.
Aeri stared at mingi, wondering whether to just say it. Say that she didn't care about either China or Korea anymore. But she wouldn't say it, not until he came back tomorrow.
Aeri : you want an answer? Then try not to die tomorrow.
Mingi : what? What is that supposed to mean-
Aeri : stop writing stupid wills and come back to bed, mingi. The nation needs you tomorrow.
__________________________
Mingi let out a breath as he turned back around in the bed for the tenth time that night, opening his eyes in annoyance as it landed on aeri who was fast alseep beside him. Mingi sat up against his arm as he stared at her, realizing how beautiful his wife really was. Men must throw themselves under his feet and worship her, mingi thought. How did someone like him get someone like her? Someone so scarred and dirty, did he really deserve someone as divine and pure as her?
Aeri : can't sleep?
Mingi flinched as he moved back, lying back on the bed as he whispered
Mingi : I'm fine, you can go back to sleep.
Aeri sighed at his words, sitting up straight on the bed as she said
Aeri : come to me.
Mingi stared up at aeri, her back rested against the headboard as he stared at her in confusion and shock
Mingi : w-what?
Aeri : I said come to me, mingi.
Mingi let out a breath as he moved closer to aeri, resting his head on her lap as aeri's hand came up to his hair. Mingi's body lay tense against hers, his breathing uneven as aeri slowly started running her hand along his hair. Oh, how mingi had missed this. The pain and torture he could go through to just have a single second of this moment from her.
Aeri : I'm doing this for my own benefit, so that you get proper rest to fight tomorrow. Now stop acting up and go to sleep.
Mingi pressed his lips together as he closed his eyes, aeri's hands slowly running over his hair as mingi felt his body ease up. He'd never felt this before, never felt so much at peace. And slowly mingi felt himself fall deeper into sleep, the last thing he felt being a kiss on his forehead. But he probably dreamt that, didn't he?
__________________________
It had been mingi's idea to strike at night, he believed it was the better time to make sure both san and han were in their hideouts, and better for hiding as well. Aeri had agreed to it. So she was now riding her horse to the intersection where she'd have to continue by herself, mingi riding on another horse beside her. His eyes were alert as he looked around, the 100 other soldiers riding behind them as well.
Aeri had eaten as little as possible for dinner tonight in order to make sure she doesn't overfill herself, it would affect her stealth. But for some reason she felt heavy, nonetheless she pushed it away. Now was not the time.
Mingi : we're approaching the intersection.
Aeri looked forward as she realized they were, which meant it was now time for the both of them to separate. It was time for aeri to save her nation. Aeri slowed her horse as they stopped in front of the intersection, mingi looking at her as he said
Mingi : you know what to do if something goes wrong, right?
Aeri : mhmm. Abandon the mission and run.
Mingi : you aren't going to do that though, are you?
Aeri smiled, looking around as she whispered
Aeri : I don't have to take orders from you.
Mingi sighed, bringing his hand to the back of his neck as he unclasped the necklace that had always hung around it. Aeri had wondered if it meant so much to him but she'd never asked. Mingi handed it out for aeri to hold as he said
Mingi : it was my mother's wedding necklace, it is the only thing I have left of her. I want you to have it now. It has always protected me, and today, I hope it could protect you.
Aeri took the necklace from him before clasping it around her neck, looking at mingi before saying
Aeri : you come back to me, alright? We're going to celebrate the win of our nation, together.
Mingi smiled as he said
Mingi : I will try.
Aeri gave mingi one last look before turning her horse around, galloping away from them. Mingi stared as the back of aeri's top flew against the wind, her wedding ring still gleaming against the moonlight. And in that moment mingi prayed for the first time to any god out there. Not for him, but for the love of his life. If he were to die today, he'd die happily knowing that she was safe. He'd make sure of it.
_________________________
Aeri sneaked into the mansion after having just killed a dozen men or so, their blood having stained the edge of her long top as she climbed the stairs carefully. The mansion was dead silent, and she'd seen only one room that had been lit up in the entire place from far away. That was where san would be, his daughter would've been asleep by now.
Aeri looked around the first floor hallway as she realized this was probably where his daughter slept, considering that the entire hallway was decorated in the way girls would like. Dollhouses lying everywhere with pretty pink bows stuck all over the wall. Glass made kitchen sets and pearl jewellery lying here and there. The life aeri had always wanted but never got.
She climbed to the next floor as she walked through the hallways, small sounds now being heard as she neared the room that had light coming from it's door gap. Aeri let out a breath as she knocked on it, footsteps coming closer to her before the door was opened.
San : what the hell?
Aeri : we meet again.
San stared at aeri, his eyes going to the blood that had stained her dress before saying
San : you killed my men.
Aeri : so we get to meet.
San paused as aeri pushed herself inside, holding san by the collar as she kissed him. She knew what this would do to san, or any man for that matter. A hard and deep kiss with the right eyes was all it would take for aeri to have san distracted. Then she can kill him off.
San tensed under her as she pulled back a few seconds later, breathing heavily against san's lips. Aeri felt nothing, as she never did with anyone else other than with mingi. With him it was all sparks, but with san she felt empty, as if kissing him was a chore.
San : what…you have a husband, your majesty.
Aeri : I did last time too.
San : but he wasn't song mingi.
Aeri : what difference does song mingi make?
Aeri could sense the slight fear in san's eyes, that was the power mingi held.
San : do you love him?
Aeri chuckled, feeling more heavy headed that ever as she said
Aeri : love? I love no one. Now give me what I came here for, what I killed for.
San let out a breath as he kissed her, closing his eyes as he pushed aeri against the wall. And while san was deep into kissing her, completely distracted and unaware, aeri brought one of her hand to her thigh, pulling out the knife that was wrapped around it as she brought it closer to san. But just then she felt her eyes droop, her body feeling weak as her grip on the knife loosened, making it fall down with a clatter.
San suddenly stepped back at the sound, his widened eyes looking at the knife as aeri fell onto her knees. She felt too sleepy, what was this? Why did…no. no no poison.
San : you were going to kill me.
Aeri gasped as she looked up at san, him smiling in part relief as he said
San : did you really think you could, hmm? Did you think I was that stupid?
Such arrogance, if it wasn't for the poison he'd be dead by now.
Aeri : h-how. How-
San : I bought your bestfriend off, love.
Mina, she'd slipped it in her food. No one else was allowed to touch aeri's food after the tester.
Aeri fell onto the floor as she felt her eyes slowly close, the last thing she heard being san's laugh as he said
San : next time you awake, you're going to be in hell, moon aeri.
_______________________
Mingi had been at the forest clearing for hours now, already having sent han the message that aeri was lost in the woods, disguising as one of han's own soldiers whom mingi had killed. Mingi had waited and waited after that, expecting han to come any minute. But now it was almost dawn, and mingi was sure this plan had failed. Something somehwere had gone wrong, and it had to be aeri.
And so mingi had gotten up to his horse, riding towards san's manor as his soldiers followed him. But as he neared the place he saw the thousands of men that were standing outside, indicating that han was here. Something had definitely gone wrong, aeri was now in trouble.
??? : my lord, I think we should turn back. There are too many men to tackle.
If mingi turned back and went to the palace it would be the safer option for him, because this was a death trap. But if he turned and left, that would mean the end of aeri. He knew han, he knew the things he'd do with women, and mingi was sure san was no different. Mingi had vowed to protect his wife's dignity at an cost, even if it were at the cost of his own life. He wouldn't let another man touch his wife.
Mingi : my wife is inside that manor, soldier. I will not go back without her.
Before the soldier could say anything more mingi rode faster towards the manor, the enemy soldiers swarming around mingi and his men as he said, not a single waver in his voice
Mingi : lead me to your king, I will come alone.
??? : but your majesty-
Mingi : you will stay outside, soldiers. It is an order.
Mingi jumped off his horse as a group of ten men surrounded him with swords in their hands, slowly leading him inside the manor. They had expected him, mingi was sure of it by now.
Mingi soon reached a well decorated room as one of the soldiers pushed him inside, mingi's eyes landing on aeri who was tied to a chair, san and han standing in front of her with their backs turned to him. Aeri's eyes widened as she looked at mingi before saying
Aeri : mingi.
San and han turned around at that, a smile appearing on both their faces as han said
Han : I told you, mingi, that I would always be one step ahead of you.
Aeri : he bought mina off, she poisoned my food.
Mingi clenched his jaw, looking at san as he said
Mingi : do you really want this, to side with a brother you know is only going to ruin your kingdom?
Han : you little-
San : what are you trying to say?
Mingi : that I am giving you a choice. Either you stay with han and end your own line, ruin your dynasty. Or you side with me and get to keep both the crown, and your head.
San scoffed in disbelief as he said
San : you're standing in front of me, powerless with no men to back you up and your wife at my mercy. And you still think you're capable of all that?
Of course, mingi would have to accept defeat now. He would have to pretend. But san was stupid for thinking he would forever stay defeated. And so he smiled, looking at san as he said
Mingi : look at me, do you really think there is anything that I am not capable of?
Han growled as he walked forward, punching mingi in the face as his head turned to the side. Aeri let out a breath as san quickly brought his sword to her neck, pressing the edge against it as han said
Han : your rule, is done, song mingi. If you lift so much as a hand against us, we will have that bitch killed.
Aeri : let them kill me then, mingi. Go back to the palace.
Mingi looked at aeri who seemed to be almost sure mingi would go back. She still didn't think she had so much value, and she was wrong. Aeri flinched as mingi dropped his royal sword onto the floor, san looking surprised at that. A king dropped his royal sword only once, and that was when he accepted defeat.
Aeri : n-no. no mingi-
Han : kneel.
Aeri's eyes widened as she looked at mingi, she was sure mingi had never kneeled in his life. Mingi stared right at aeri as he kneeled down, a smirk on han's face as he looked at san before saying
Han : get the cuffs.
Mingi : before that I need you to promise me something, and I know you are a man of your words.
Han hummed as mingi looked at him before saying
Mingi : promise me that you will provide my wife with everything and anything she needs in this world until the moment you die. You will listen to all her wishes, never act against her words, protect her with your life, and treat her like the empress she is.
Aeri looked like someone had just punched her.
Aeri : mingi.
Han chuckled as he said to san who threw the metal cuffs at han
Han : I told you he loved her, san.
San : your wife will remain as the empress of China until she dies, I will make sure of it. Right, han?
Han : of course, we have no need for her anyway. She can stay in the palace for all I care. But you, you will no longer walk on this Earth.
Aeri : mingi, you can still leave-
Mingi : I don't want to.
Aeri stared as mingi brought both his hands forward, han chuckling as he wrapped the metal cuffs around it. The satisfaction in his face angered mingi, but he had to lay low for now.
Han : look at the great and mighty ruler of China and Korea, the man no one could even touch. Kneeling on the ground for some woman now, are we?
Mingi : she is not some woman, she is my wife.
Han : oh really. She no longer will be once I have you killed.
Han smiled as san untied aeri's ropes, her standing up as han tugged on mingi's metal cuffs in order to make him stand as he said
Han : she's going to sit in the palanquin arranged for her, since you said you'd want her treated as the empress she is, and san and I are going to ride the horses. You, however, will walk behind us on foot. These cuffs will be attatched to my horse's back.
Aeri clenched her fists. This was humiliation, it was mingi's biggest fear. Was he really…was he really going to go through all of this just for her? Mingi chuckled as he stood up before muttering
Mingi : so original.
Han frowned as mingi walked forward, tugging hard at the cuff as han jerked forward because of his hold on it. He looked like he could kill mingi any second now.
San : the ego still remains.

So, what do you think would have happened to Amphibia if its third season got shortened down to three hour long specials like Owl House did?
So A: this question is flawed. The shortening wasn't told to TOH's crew post S2. They were told WELL in advance. Dana is on record (source) for having said as much. The news came down on episode 7 of S2. Reasonably, this probably meant not a lot of S2A could have been changed due to deadlines but I don't know how all this works that well. For the sake of this, I'm going to mostly assume that something could have started changing starting episode eight and more drastic changes could be done after the mid season hiatus.
B: TOH needed S2B to mostly look identical to setup for going into the human realm, for having the Day of Unity as the finale and for the Collector to be set up as a villain by then. There are maybe two episodes you could change but nothing that is emblematic of the problems of S2B as a whole. Here's an entire blog about that. Btw, I published that blog before the finale came out and my opinion is mostly that that blog is kinder than it should have been.
C: I am not going to say this is a better version of Amphibia. Some might though. A lot of people think S2B and S3 of Amphibia is loaded with what they see as filler. Even I agree that you could probably cut a fair amount and not lose the core of the show. I'm about to demonstrate that. Also, just inherently because of a faster pace, the show would have to be more about the trio, or feel that way at least (again, I'll get into it), which the majority of the Amphibia fandom argues is what the show should have done anyways. So yeah, it's kind of an interesting conundrum.
D: I'll mostly talk about the weaknesses of this rewrite once I'm done. For anyone who needs a refresher though: S2, Episode 7 of Amphibia, the last one before this change, is one after Marcy at the Gates and has the segments "Scavenger Hunt" and "The Plantars Check In." Oh and before I get to the three specials, I'll mostly just be trying to slot in episode segments because that feels the most fair to actually capture a reasonable timeline for the show. Like I'm not coming up with cheats to handwave issues that this change would cause. As such, I'm not going to do something like cut The First Temple in half just for the sake of claiming more time. Once we get to the specials, that will change because those episodes' structures would have inherently changed, kind of like how The Hardest Thing has a different structure due to its extended run time. Until then though? I'll mostly be trying to effectively Mad Libs this off of what we already have despite the fact that the creators would have, at least if they're responsible, made changes to work within their new time frame. I'm going to give myself one unreasonable shift in return for this handicap effectively of not being able to change the core structure of the show or its plot points.
ANYWAYS. With that out of the way:
For the sake of pacing, you probably do Lost in Newtopia and then the Sleepover to End All Sleepovers as episode 8 because we can't literally go straight into leaving Newtopia and one could argue that the sleepover is important foreshadowing. However, the next episode is then a double whammy of A Day at the Aquarium to say farewell to Newtopia and still have that touching confirmation of the found family before then skipping Night Drivers and going straight to Return to Wartwood for the second segment, bringing us up to nine.
Then I would actually move Toad to Redemption into the first slot for episode ten because it is thematically important and a good rallying moment for Wartwood. You could also replace with Ivy on the Run for the sake of Sprivy and just make episode 13 into episode 10 by making After the Rain be the mid season finale. It's dramatic enough to do so and lets:
The First Temple opens S2B and episode 15 of the normal show, New Wartwood and Friend or Frobo stays too in order to help setup Wartwood's relationship with humans besides Anne and to get Frobo in. That brings the count to 12.
Then you do episode 17 as episode 13, Barrel's Warhammer and The Second Temple, because we do still need a bit more time with Sasha to prep for True Colors and The Second Temple is obvious. However, I'd probably swap their positions because then episode 14 is The Third Temple (so you don't have two temples literally back to back, even if the two are different episodes like in the actual show) and The Dinner... With Battle of the Bands being cut. It's Sasha's weakest episode, is just kind of reinforcement of a few elements and some expansion on the three's relationship, though mostly Anne and Sasha. The Dinner is needed though to get Sasha with the other two and heading to Newtopia because...
There is a quarter season finale now with True Colors. It is ABSOLUTELY the most radical choice in this rewrite and you could arguably say that it's not fair because Disney wouldn't have allowed them to have that episode as anything but a season finale. This is the only 'cheat' I'll give myself since I'm not altering episodes drastically or the like to fit in with the new time frame. Plus side: They'd have the compelling pitch that in five episodes, they CAN get back to Amphibia to make that the season finale. Otherwise there isn't really much to change before S3 because so much has to wait on the major turn of Andrias becoming the main villain. That version of this outline though, that S2 doesn't change at ALL, is... A genuine nightmare on a lot of fronts and honestly less reasonable than thinking this would be allowed and I'll get to why after the outline. Oh, there is one change that needs to happen unfortunately: Frobo probably doesn't make it in this version after this. Polly and him unfortunately just aren't important enough to really get the wrap up they do in S3. It does mean that mechanic Polly during the ending probably has an RC robo or the like with her to help explain where her being a mechanic came from.
Anywhos: Episode 16 is The New Normal... Mixed with Anne-sterminator. Anne is honest about the danger they're in from go and instead of the quarantine montage, we get her actually beating the Cloak Bot first try to show how far she's come to her parents and to show off the new powers alongside their cost.
Then you do Fight at the Museum followed by Turning Point for episode 17 to start the ball rolling on getting back as well as get Sasha into place and finish up her arc.
Episode 18 has Temple Frogs because the Plantars DO need to still connect with Earth and Temple Frogs is EASILY the best episode of that as it explores how different Anne is from the start of the show and how that isn't entirely a good thing because of the things she's now ignoring, fits thematically with the show as a whole and is just a lot of fun. The other side meanwhile is Olivia and Yunan. I would almost not advocate for keeping this episode for a lot of reasons but it's kind of necessary in order to set up for:
The Core and the King is in episode 19 because Andrias' backstory is REALLY important to how he is beat and to also understand what the Core is and what the kingdom of Amphibia can do. What the stakes are to all of this. It is also the one segment in the actual show itself that explores the villain so you can't really cut it. The other half of the episode though is If You Give a Frog a Cookie because we need Terry.
Especially because you might have noticed that I didn't include Mr. X. There just isn't room for them for the most part which luckily... Is okay. He's fun but his parts can be mostly replaced either with faceless people or Terry. You can also just go with his first appearance actually being him taking the Plantars in this episode. Maybe there's been foreshadowing at the end of Earth segments of someone watching. Something that only takes a few seconds but builds up to honestly having Escape to Amphibia be mostly the same as it was but with a reduced cast and less familiarity with Mr. X as a villain.
So that covers S2. Now there are 3 45 minute specials on average to cover all of S3B. Or more so there's two specials to cover the seven episodes between Escape to Amphibia and The Hardest Thing because Amphibia's finale already had an extended time slot. As 45 minutes is effectively two episodes each, you need to save on three episodes. Six segments.
That's... easier said than done because the segments are actually incredibly important to Amphibia's storytelling and these specials could technically be split into four segments each but more likely they actually have to tell a through line story per special. You can't jump AS MUCH as you could before.
So Special 1 starts with effectively Commander. The reintroduction to Wartwood and the finalizing of Sasha's new self after her character arc is not something you can really leave out. Plus side is that Commander Anne is a really efficient eleven minutes to introduce what Amphibia is like now and you probably don't do the pampered brat routine with the Plantars which is not a real loss. The theme of this special though is allies so the target of Sasha's mission when Anne gets back changes.
The goal is now to free Mother Olm. This way you can skip the Olms themselves and still get the prophecy and foresight from Mother Olm that sets up the finale. It also allows a smooth transition into meeting with Mother Olm in general. She warns them they'll need allies once they're done and we get a montage of the a lot of what people consider filler in S3 with getting allies, though mostly the Toads, Newts and the Killerpillars probably. You could also do this with people splitting up so that each one gets a truncated version of the full segment to get them. Then the final portion of the special is Sasha and Anne hoping their efforts paid off before Sprig shows Lief's hidden room to get Lief's letter.
Then Special 2 is effectively episodes 16 and 17 of S3. Just consolidating the army, heading out, then protecting Earth after midway through the special everything goes wrong. Not really anything even has to be changed here really except just smoothing out the transitions between segments. Admittedly, the Plantars probably rely more on Domino 2 to replace the loss of Frobo and unfortunately Polly just doesn't have a lot to do in All In.
Then Special 3 is literally just The Hardest Thing. Pretty much no changes I think because the elements for it have still been covered.
And that's it. It's not by any means perfect of course. Elements are rushed and some elements probably feel neglected or abandoned entirely. I already mentioned Polly but this version also means Sprivy is ignored post S1 effectively and just has a nice come back at the end of the finale (which is a good argument for Ivy on the Run over Toad of Redemption for the filler segment in episode 10 of the rewrite). Worse yet... Sprig is kind of ignored and Anne and his friendship is mostly left fallow. I admittedly don't think the show does the best job keeping it burning post S1 but S1 sells it HARD already as part of the stable base of the show so it's not a big problem. It also harms the connection to Amphibia itself so a line like "They aren't Amphibia's greatest treasure" doesn't hit as hard.
It would almost certainly feel actually rushed... Which is a fuckton better than what happened with TOH because TOH doesn't feel rushed. Its three specials are incredibly bloated with plotlines THEY introduce, or S2B introduced, that go nowhere. Or hell, resolutions that mean nothing, like how Luz finishes her character arc THREE. FUCKING. TIMES. Even people who love TOH still will admit the majority of For the Future is filler. That it does nothing to actually move anything forward, wrap much of anything up that couldn't have been left alone (besides Stringbean but that moment is cut off at the knees immediately by the finale's dream sequence) and those are people who won't bring up how Willow had her power problems resolved literally two seasons ago. S3 is so bankrupt on what to do to fill the time that they bring it back anyways, alongside Kikimora who has NO REASON to still be a villain we're dealing with.
That is the HUGE difference here. TOH doesn't actually feel like we're missing out on anything with its S3 besides fluff and maybe a bit of exploration on the whole Grimmwalker thing. The specials just don't feel like they actually know what to do in the first place though. It makes it feel like we're mostly missing out on filler but there's already so much of that in these episodes. Even the elements that could have been expanded, like Belos backstory, the human realm shenanigans and the Collector's redemption are rough because none of these are from before the shortening. Only Hunter's arc is really something stared BEFORE THE SHORTENING. Belos' backstory and the contradictory nature of The Collector, like how he absolutely knows what death is during Hollow Mind and is a complete evil fucker there... Are written in S2B. They were included and written as part of the shortening. Hell, the human realm and the Collector as a whole weren't even planned for S3 supposedly. They were things they wanted to do but didn't have a place for them and so just jammed in these MASSIVE new elements that needed more time than was available with no care for the fact that they had NO TIME. (I don't have a source for this unfortunately.)
Admit you didn't have a plan for your show without admitting you didn't have a plan.
That also brings up an element that I brought up at the top: How much the story might have actually changed. I'm having to work off of the main outline provided by the show but it's entirely possible that The Core might not have been included. That Earth might not have. Changes would have happened to the overall story and it's kind of impossible to reasonably guess how. After all, I wouldn't have guessed that an all powerful child and a trip to the human realm would have been responses to a shortening for The Owl House.
So I did my best and I still stand by that this would still be a fine to good version of the show. That it wouldn't have been impossible to tell a full narrative with the time given. One that is still thematically coherent, has a strong finale that doesn't contradict itself and still has plenty of fun in it to counterbalance the higher focus on the more dramatic elements.
That's still a LOT better than can be said for TOH's finale, let alone its three specials.
======+++++======
I ended up just rewriting the outline as a way to give it more thought instead of copy and pasting the first one I wrote. *whimpers*

Steve Harrington Gif Drabble
A/N: Sorry about being gone. I had major writer’s block and my new job has been a little crazy. With the new season out, my obsession of Steve Harrington has surfaced once again. So here you go.
Characters: Steve Harrington, Sister!Reader, Dustin Henderson
Summary: After defeating the Mind Flayer, Y/n goes to the Snow Ball and Steve has a small panic attack when thinking about his sister dancing with boys.
Warnings: language, set in S2
Word Count: 616
*GIf is not mine*
Tumblr media
“Don’t forget, that boys at this age are stupid and you don’t need to dance with them.”
“Steve.”
“Really! You can dance with Mayfield the whole time.”
“Steve.”
“Or just sit there and drink some punch.”
“Steve!” The youngest Harrington finally gets her brother’s attention.
“Mhm?”
Y/n can’t help but smile at her concerned brother. Lucas was right, he can really turn into a mother hen sometimes. But she doesn’t mind. I mean, who else is going to raise her when their parents don’t give two shits about what they're doing.  “I know boys are stupid. I will dance with Max; but Lucas will want to dance with her too. And there’s a big chance I will dance with a boy at least once tonight.”
“Oh god, don’t tell me that.” Steve groans, only half-joking. He tries to hide his grin when Y/n giggles at his antics, but he fails miserably when she looks at him with her contagious smile.
He sighs. “Just promise me you’ll make good choices.”
“I promise, mom.”
Steve rolls his eyes. That term is never going away; not after Sinclair opened his big mouth.  “Shut up.”
Y/n leans toward him, landing a quick kiss to his cheek. “Thank you, Steve.”
He can’t but stare fondly at his baby sister; who’s grown way too much in the last year. He still can’t believe how brave and smart she was throughout the whole ‘Mind Flayer’ shit. At the time, he was pissed with the shitheads for ignoring his decision to stay put; but once the Chief explained how the demodogs left and gave them a clear path to the gate, he was glad they did.
He can’t believe the young teenager sitting in front of him attacked a guy twice her size just to try and save him. Thank god Mrs. Byers left that syringe behind and Mayfield saw it.
“Have fun, Y/n.”
“I will.” She declares as she climbs out of the car. After shutting the door, she leans down against the window. “So you’ll be here at midnight, right.”
Steve snorts. “Nice try, kid. I’ll be here at eleven like we agreed.” He frowns when the smile disappears from his sister’s face. He’s pretty sure it has nothing to do with the time, so he patiently waits for her to tell him. She’s always been able to come to him with her problems and he hopes that never changes.
“I hope Hopper lets El come.”
Ah, that explains it. “I’m sure the Chief will make the best decision for Eleven.”
Y/n nods. “Yeah.” And just like that, her excitement and smile are back. “See you in a couple of hours.”
“See you then, sis.”
Y/n waves as she walks up the stairs, heading inside to the table where Mr. Clarke is sitting.
Steve waits for her to enter the gym, smiling. He couldn’t be more proud of her.
“Steve. Come in. Steve, where the hell are you? Over”
Said man rolls his eyes at the impatient kid who can’t see him through the walkie talkie. “Relax, shithead. I’ll be there in ten.”
“Steve, you’re supposed to say ‘over’ when you’re done talking. Why is that concept so hard for you to grasp? Over.”
“You know I could just go home. Over.”
“Just hurry up. I don’t want all the girls to be taken before they get a chance to see me. Over and out.”
Steve mutters curse words under his breath as he peels out of the parking lot. He doesn’t know what’s worse, Y/n dancing with some random boy or Henderson not dancing with a girl. Either way, he’ll be there for them.

I’m actually really surprised how much Heartstopper s2 dropped in viewership compared to season 1. You’d think given the popularity of the books and first season of the show, views would have gone UP in s2. Instead, you had s1 in Netflix top ten for 3 weeks with 53.5 million streaming hours. Then you have s2 in the top ten (also for 3 weeks) with 11.9 million. S1 had 4 and 1/2 times more views, which is just crazy to me.
All I will say is that we are DAMN lucky Netflix renewed for s3 at the same time as s2, because if they hadn’t, I don’t think we would be getting one.

yall know how mike starts crying in s2 when he and el reunite?
yall know what happened literally ten minutes before this reunion?
the shed scene. tears streamed down mike’s cheeks as he testified of how much he loved will.
and then it was back into the fray. back into action. because they can’t ever have a moment of peace.
i wonder if mike would’ve cried at all when he reunited with el if he wasn’t already in a fragile emotional state.
yall are aware of how it doesn’t take much to start crying after you’ve finished one good cry? the ball’s already rolling. mike has a whole mental breakdown. and it’s because of the emotional turmoil he went through that day.
more than just the shed scene even. he had to deal with his friend being creepy and possessed--“he’s lying!”--(and he’s not getting much sleep because he’s sleeping in a hospital chair and, yk, anxiety) and then he had to try to warn the doctors about the trap that will had set, since he was the only one who figured out what that meant. he was physically restrained by a bunch of grown men while he tried to save everyone’s lives and he even failed to do that because almost everyone in the building was massacred (think about what kind of effect that had on mike) and then he had to basically carry will’s comatose body out of the building while bob gets eaten by a demodog (and he watches). then he has to go through the shed scene, reliving his first meeting with his best friend and having to deal with the dichotomy between his past situation and his present situation, of which they’re not even on the same plane of existence, and knowing that he can’t lose his friend to his monster that’s taken over his friend’s body, and he sees will’s eyes and they’re so dark and unfamiliar and hostile, but when mike bares his soul, something changes and will starts to come back to them. but, of course, before anything can come of that, they’re put in danger again, moments from death, monsters surrounding them. and then he sees his friend who, as he testified to max a few minutes earlier, he thought was dead as a doornail, randomly reappear and save them all from the same monsters he’d watched kill dozens of people including his best friend’s mom’s boyfriend (lmao) that he thought was about to kill him and his friends. then he learned that hopper, an adult that he’d trusted, had lied to him for a year and lied to everyone, telling them that el was dead and letting mike live with that guilt that he’d most certainly held since season 1 bc there’s no way mike doesn’t take on the burdens of everyone around him and then punish himself if he fails. so of course he has a breakdown, sobbing and crying to hopper. but we cant stop there of course! after all of this he has to send off his best friend and the girl who he thought was dead until two minutes ago to go and potentially die (both of them!!!) and he cant do anything to save them. until he gets an idea to save them but steve wont let him and mike just feels so fucking useless if he cant do anything to save them but then billy shows up and mike has to watch his best friend (lucas) get shoved up against a wall, as well as watch billy nearly kill steve, and then he watches max nearly kill billy and then he has to help his friends patch up steve (they dont know first aid). then they get in the car and drive to some creepy ass tunnels in the upside down that are filled with bones and they fight some more demodogs and also set a root system (?) on fire. (oh and his sisters ex boyfriend thought he was his sister.)
so yeah. mike wheeler needs hugs. of course he started crying when he saw el, but that doesn’t make it romantic. and if it does make it romantic, then shouldn’t the shed scene be romantic too?
all of the above happened in like less than 24 hours or something. it was all in the same day.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
oh this is adorable. I love this so much.
five is an interesting number because-- discounting the four wips I consider active and the fan music I've written-- I've only published seven fics. so this'll be less a question of which ones I include and more a question of which I don't.
all right. let's get into it.
in no particular order:
Through His Stomach - Black Sails - E - 24k - ongoing this is my dark fairytale au. when I refer to "hagfic" I'm talking about this piece. Thomas is dying, and Flint strikes a deal with a mysterious magical entity known as the Cook to save his life. this fic is full of hunger and magic and psychosexual fixation and devotion and desperation and cannibalism and some of the most gorgeous prose I've ever written in my life. I learned how to write smut for this fic. it's my pride and joy. it has my heart in a way no other fic ever will.
Ner Tamid - Black Sails - M - 3k - complete if Through His Stomach has my heart, Ner Tamid has my soul. this is a character study about Silver and judaism and grief, masquerading as canon divergence wherein he cannibalizes Muldoon's corpse in the doldrums. I had a fun little mental health episode the night before my mom's birthday and wrote this whole thing in one ten-hour sitting. it's a pesach story-- the doldrums the plagues, Muldoon Nachshon, the dairy goat the paschal lamb, and Silver the prophet. Silver Moses. it's about the burden of responsibility and the burden of survival. it's about seeing how far you'd go just to keep shouldering that weight.
Sanguine - Ted Lasso - M - 19k - complete my Trent/Ted vampire au featuring Trent as the vampire (I got nearly 30k into my Trent/Ted vampire au featuring Ted as the vampire, but I honestly don't know if I'll ever finish that one). Sanguine is an s2 canon divergence wherein Trent goes into a frenzy after Ted lies about his panic attack and kills someone. it's about want and monstrosity, about seeing the grotesque and loving it anyway. I'm especially proud of how the narrative voice shifts between the scenes from Trent's pov and Ted's. it's just… a good story. Ted Lasso is the biggest fandom I've written for, so it makes sense that this is my most popular fic, but it very much deserves to be my most popular fic regardless. it's just a good story. it's a good story.
Cold, Dark, Depraved - Black Sails - E - 10k - complete my latest crime, extremely heavy on the angst. I nicknamed this fic "anti-comfort fic" on purpose. a canon-compliant look at s3 and s4 wherein Silver and Flint had been sleeping together for a long while, then broke up when they got to Maroon Island. it's about grief and cruelty and saying, "there can be no happiness in the world, and to prove it I will go out of my way to eradicate any shred of happiness I can find." this is a fic about beating yourself half to death and digging your fingers into every bruise. it's about love and denial and care and grief. grief is my favorite subject.
Five Girls Annie Almost Kissed and One She Did - Community - T - 11k - complete this is the earliest fic on my ao3 (I had a different account I used in high school; it's still out there somewhere but it's not worth finding). a canon-compliant character study of Annie from middle school all the way through the first few seasons of the show, chronicling her journey towards discovering lesbianism. I'm sure if I rewrote it today, six years later, it would look very different, but it's precious to me as it is. this is a fic about Annie, and it's a fic about me in equal measure.
there it is. that's my five. shout-out to the two I didn't include (Fraught, 15k of fucked-up smut for a book series three people have read, and Crawl 'Til Dawn, the Annie/Britta vampire au I left unfinished for four and a half years but finally got me back into writing, another piece I'd do very differently if I wrote it today).
thanks for letting me gush about my work. it makes me so very happy to do.

VOTE FOR JOEL
Reasons:
1. He is an absolute loser and a pathetic meow meow
In season 2 he is so insecure that he goes out of his way to make lore in order to make it cannon that he is tall and sexy. His own wife refuses to be his lawyer because she knows he will lose.
Going off the last sentence, in last life, whenever joel interacts with lizzie she always talks about how incompetent he is before and afterwards. In the one scene where she flirts with him, he has the most awkward and uncool respince possible. She votes for him to die first and profits off it. He dies 4 times in the second episode and looses all his friends (only had one to begin with).
In afterlife when Joel has objectively the best origin in the game, he needs an umbrella to walk in the rain. He dies in his second origin because he accidently walks off a cliff. When he has the supposedly "cool" origin (iceling) he falls into a cauldron by accident.
(Have not wached x life yet)
2. Joel is also a total whore
He sleeps with sausage in like the third episode of empires s2. He and his worst-enemy-turned-friend Jimmy fuck barely 2 episodes after they become friends. His wife is a ten foot tall axolotl hybrid who could absolutely step on him and he would let her.
In the first few episodes of double life he takes as little damage as possible and tries to stay out of trouble on green and yellow despite his soulmate going to the deep dark and spawning the warden, all while building a lovely and flammable home.
Joel also flirts with Jimmy in empires s1 and somehow asking Jimmy to be his best man is more romantic than a marriage proposal to his own wife?? He has bi wife energy.
3. He is absolutely unhinged and chaotic
In third life, he tames a wolf army and sicks them on absolutly everyone. It is also believed that one of the life series 'curses' is that the player that tames the most wolves is the most unhinged.
When he goes red life in LL, he tries to get kills on absolutly everyone possible, he also has no hesition when lying to his teammate when he is the boogeyman. He goes on a killing spree with grian at the end, it's even said by Scott that dying of "natural causes" included dying at joel and grians hands.
During double life, as soon as the ship burns he immediately starts burning everything and goes on another killing spree. Also, the first thing he does after dying a second time is killing someone with zero hesitation.
He starts a whole religion and goes on a whole villan arc because of a fucking donkey. A fucking donkey.
Now this is not physically, emotionally, or even that visibly unhinged, but. Let's rember that this is the guy who spent like over twenty hours worth of building in Jimmy's empire for the purpose of 'it would be funny'. It is literally insane. On that topic, all his bases are also absolutly insane, one could say, unhinged.
4. Do it for...
Vote joel, for he derves to win the mcyt sexyman bracket. And if this has convinced you that he is too pathetic to vote for, then do it for his son hermes. Hermes is too precious for this world and his other dad sadly got out of the competition yesterday. Do it for the smol armor stand demigod lore child. Or do it for donkey Jeremy, idk.
Shoutout to @infamousvamp , who inspired this post, I tried to add more stuff and make difference points, but you should check out https://at.tumblr.com/infamousvamp/vote-joel-smallishbeans-for-mcytblr-sexyman-2023/ngx5hduweccw , the original. In the end though, it really dosnt matter, as we all would like joel smallishbeans to with this competition, or at least this round. Hopefully this has either influenced your vote or reminded you how pathetic joel is. Vote here at https://at.tumblr.com/mcytblrsexymen/round-four/kprd9e10zjmp
