who even are you? i sort of knew you through a mutual friend before you changed schools and joined my class, so i was the first one you spoke to and then you just kind of stuck around. i didn't really mind; i'm not used to having friends so it was surprising that you'd want to sit with me in every class. we became inseparable to the point where our classmates started calling us sisters. when you needed to copy some homework, i was your girl. when you campaigned for student board president, i was right there with you.

but now? you're there. you're loud. you're a lot. we bicker every day and even though it's supposed to be friendly banter, it's getting exhausting. i barely talk to my old friend group because i lost those connections when i started handing out with almost exclusively you. i don't see you as a best friend, it's never even been close. but we still sit together and talk all day and there's no turning back now.

I mean we have surviving letters and correspondence much older and from much more "irrelevant" historical figures than Vasco and Machete, so it's not that unlikely that some evidence of their relationship survived until modern dog times.

Especially if you consider that Vasco and Machete would likely preserve and keep each other's letters and presents for sentimental sake, they would still hide them of course but I think that should only make their survival and preservation more possible.

What I'm trying to say is that there is a world where their relationship become a very niche historical theory and regularly a part of "tragic historical queer figures" videos. Dog 2010s tumblr would go crazy for their tragic situationship (and Vasco's very spicy letters)

I had to put my phone down and thoroughly dwell on this world where they're occasionally mentioned in a video essay or a history podcast of some sort. And the idea of 2010s tumblr but it's dogs.

honest opinions on nancy/chrissy, will/gareth and steve/tommy?

Nancy/Chrissy: I didn't know this was a thing, but I don't think they would be right for each other. Maybe a one-sided crush, possibly a drunken fling, but I can't see it as a healthy relationship. They would have communication issues.

Will/Gareth: No. This is partly that I'll always see Will as a child, partly that I headcanon Gareth as being 17 going on 18 and therefore the age difference makes me uncomfortable, and partly that I adore Steve/Gareth as a ship. (there's only one year between them with my age headcanons, before you attempt to say anything)

Steve/Tommy: I never considered them before this year, but now I adore the tragedy of them. Amazing for character exploration; they're childhood friends to lovers, they're doomed; there's no narrative where Steve doesn't leave Tommy behind by becoming a better person; no narrative where Tommy doesn't leave Steve behind in Hawkins. The "I loved you but now you're a stranger to me, even as the feelings are still there" of it all.

He doesn’t really like you wearing clothes around the house—unless they’re his. He’s okay with that. It’s you in a full outfit, dressed like you’re going somewhere, that ticks him off. You hadn’t communicated any plans, which you know you’re supposed to do, yet here you are, dressed.

“Where are you off to?” He asks, voice even yet stern as you enter the living room. He’s sitting on the sofa, tucked against the arm, student papers scattered around. He sets the one he was grading aside to pay full attention to you.

Your face twists into a sweet, shy little expression, “Nowhere. I just got these new clothes recently and wanted to get your opinion. What’d’you think?” You twirled where you stood, and Shouta furrowed his brows at the outfit choice. It was definitely cute, but it was also tight. Too tight and too revealing for his tastes.

“It’s very nice,” He murmured, “But I wouldn’t have picked it out myself. When did you get this? Who did you get it with?”

You wilted slightly at his disapproval, and stepped closer to the couch. Your head bowed slightly, “I just went with my friends. It was about two weeks ago.”

Shouta hummed, “Your usual group of friends?” Disappointment soured his voice, and an embarrassed frown slid onto your face.

“Yeah,” you admitted. Shouta tsked.

“You know how I feel about them, sweetheart. They aren’t good influences for girls like you. They’ll ruin you,” Shouta finished with a hard look at you, though his eyes didn’t meet yours. Instead, they were locked onto your chest, where your low-cut top showed a little bit of cleavage.

Your breath hitched softly, and you stepped closer to Shouta, shyly entering his space. He welcomed you, spreading his knees to allow you to stand before him. Somehow, despite him looking up at you, all the power continued to lean in his favor.

“Daddy,” your voice was demure, “I can return them, if you want,” you dropped to a saccharine sweet murmur, “I kept the receipts and the tags, just in case.”

Shouta’s mouth slowly changed, adjusting from his sour scowl to an approving little smirk. He patted his lap, and you eagerly climbed on, wrapping your arms over his shoulders and cuddling close. He held you easily, and with a pleased little sigh, lowered his hand to palm at your ass. You gasped when he gently smacked it, before gripping it roughly in his palm.

“You’re so good,” he purred, “Such an obedient girl.”

You retracted away from him slightly, face burning hot, and he used his other hand to cradle your jaw. His eyes, tired but bright, locked onto yours.

“You can keep the clothes, but they stay at home, okay? I really do think they look nice.”

You nodded, heart thumping in your ears. Shouta continued, a gloating sort of look bleeding onto his face.

“Who do you belong to?” He murmured.

You shivered, “You, daddy.”

“Good girl.”
