Trying to answer some asks I got:
Thank you for all the nice messages! I read all of them, it’s so nice to know people enjoy my drawings ♥️ thanks for all the suggestions, I got way to many to draw them all but some are in my drafts👌
And so many people from different countries!! international team 🇵🇱🤝🌎
Tumblr media
Hey, thanks!! Honestly mindblowing that so many people are here, looking at my doodles♥️
Tumblr media
I don’t think so? I don’t think I’ve deleted any posts, anyway, if it was a Depeche Mode song, I dropped my DM playlist some time ago: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0HIdZjMzM5jyC8DBMSdFAQ?si=WW_cuRXKQwiznstoICW92w&pi=e-nKBnVjzZTsih
Tumblr media
“Ruskie” - the cheese- onion filling ones, pretty basic but it’s a classic👌
Tumblr media
Always allowed, recommended even 👌
Tumblr media
I mean Sobiesław Kościuszko is a pretty standard difficulty level pronunciation-wise, there are easier ones, sure, but it’s nowhere near “Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz” difficulty level lol. The only problem is the name Sobiesław- nobody in Poland would be named that, not since the Middle Ages 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hell yeahhh 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
Tumblr media
People here were surprised at first, like, why the cow??? With the song about drug addiction?? I get it tho, it’s a banger (the lyrics are a bit funny too 💀)
Tumblr media
Love when that happens 🥹

Polish headcanons 1
Friendly reminder that English is not my first language. You can check my Masterlists both in English and Polish here.
These headcanons are very specific and mostly done because I write in Polish so I know my culture so don't be dissapointed if you don't get why they're funny.
- zloty is a polish currency
- Whisky, my wife is a song called Whisky, moja żono. Same goes for Golden Chrysanthemus which is Chryzantemy Złociste.
- Carlo Rossi is one of the cheapest student wine you can buy in a popular shops called Biedronka.
- Drink milk, you will be tall! was a popular campaign in Poland which advertise drinking milk for kids in order for them to become healthy.
Aether and Lumine regularly invite you to their block of flats. Poland, like Poland, is full of different people. It's time to listen to the rumors about the twins' closer and further neighbours...
Tumblr media
The neighbourhood bar team
✧ Venti has literally started something like a drunken gang in the area. He is known for his exploits when drunk. The first time you met him, you thought he was insane because he tried to explain things to you about cats, allergies, and playing the lyre...
✧ On the good side, Venti is a harmless kind of drunk. He'll babble but you know he wouldn't hurt you. Especially if you toss him a zloty from time to time, for which he will gladly treat you with a fragment of an improvised cover: "Whisky, my wife". If he is in a very sad mood, the estate can count on the incredibly loud "Golden Chrysanthemums".
✧ Drinking alone is not recommended. You can also find Venti's glass companion in the bar. If that's what you call someone who doesn't like their neighbour. He is a textbook example of how you can hate your neighbour and still make peace over a bottle of liquor.
✧ Somehow it has become that Zhongli, a wine connoisseur, drinks it with a friend who is ready to drink any Carlo Rossi from Biedronka and be happy. Nobody disputes it, it just is.
✧ Interestingly, Zhongli is always short of cash to get drunk. He borrows from whomever he can, especially from the neighbourhood gang star Childe. Every time Zhongli accosts you, you have to be ready for a long talk that will eventually force you to throw him a few bucks.
✧ The honorable shrine where the two aforementioned gentlemen spend their days is Diluc's bar. Angel's Share has nothing to do with angels, despite the name. The dark hole is run by a bartender who proclaims his aversion to alcohol.
✧ This reluctance does not prevent him from running a small business and pouring drinks to guests as long as they have money and stand on two legs.
✧ Rumor has it that Diluc attends A. A. meetings. These are rumors spread by his mischievous brother. Or at least that's what your neighbourhood surveillance sources say.
Gossip girls
✧ Someone must be the purveyor of the gossip circulating around the neighbourhood. Heizou is the perfect man for the job. Allegedly, he never has time due to his job as a private detective and so he follows the lives of his neighbours all day long.
✧ He is the definition of community monitoring. He hides well but you often see his head hidden behind the curtains anyway.
✧ Likes to flirt with the people he talks to. Even on the street, so be careful. If someone passes this test, they can count on new information.
✧ A completely different example of a gossip girl is Thoma. The boy does literally nothing but talks to the neighbours all day long. He doesn't need to look out the window because people will tell him what he needs. In the store, on the street, anywhere!
✧ Thoma works as a cleaner in the twins' staircase after hours. You often see him wearing a funny red bandana on his head and with a mop in his hand. He greets you pleasantly, and that's something among a nation of surly people.
Food delivery
✧ The one courier who will always deliver the package? This is Kirara. The girl works in probably every possible courier company in this country. DHL, Inpost, the list goes on... Totally everywhere!
✧ Last time she brought you and the twins food from Uber Eats and you couldn't understand why since you had just passed her in the neighbourhood when she was putting packages in the parcel locker. But you have to admit that the food is always hot and you've never had a complaint.
✧ Kirara always tries to send information about in how much she will arrive via messengers. She loves the cat emoji and you will see it in every message. Maybe that's why she bought herself headphones in the shape of cat ears and runs around with them everywhere...
The seniors' last hope
✧ There will always be that one doctor for whom there are no complaints. This perfectly describes Baizhu. Is anything hurting you? Go to him. Apparently, the queues at the National Health Fund are not as tragic as in others, which is a big plus!
✧ Aether and Lumine can swear that if there's anyone willing to patiently listen to all the pains of the elderly, it's this doctor. With his angelic patience, he works wonders.
✧ He walks with a cane and everyone says he looks like Dr. House. He brushes it off with a smile, saying that he doesn't actually watch TV and doesn't know the show.
✧ He receives at the clinic together with Qiqi. A very little nurse whose age everyone is arguing about. Some say she is very young, others say the opposite. Either way, no one would know the truth from her.
✧ Qiqi doesn't seem like a bad person and she definitely has the skills needed but she's not very communicative if I may say so. She doesn't seem to remember patients and very quickly forgets what you talked to her about.
✧ QIqi sips milk all the time, but the slogan: Drink milk, you will be tall! didn't work in her case.
The neighbourhood gang
✧ Doctor Baizhu patches up people even after gang fights. Not that he likes it but he doesn't really have a choice. One such member is Ajax, or Childe or Tartaglia. In fact, it doesn't matter what he is called, he probably has a dozen other aliases.
✧ Childe joined Fatui a long time ago. Since then, he has been wearing a white T-shirt, gray tracksuits and a black jacket with the logo of his team. The whole look is complemented by clinking chains and a Slavic crouch.
✧ He can and likes to fight. He's challenged the twins to a fight a few times already, even though they're not part of any gang because they train in martial arts. Apparently because he's bored. You're lucky he hasn't hit you yet.
✧ His favourite place is the carpet hanger behind the block of flats. He can also be found there, often lending money for wine to Zhongli.
✧ Another person from the same gang is Scaramouche. Better to look across the street when passing by. He's always barking something nasty. A traditional Polish bunch of profanity is his domain.
✧ It's rumored that he comes from a pathological family and his mother left him but from what you know from Heizou, that's not entirely true. It looks like he moved out on his own. She allegedly often beat him with a rubber flap and loved her job more than him.
✧ Scaramouche, unlike Childe, has even less qualms about beating up his neighbours, so it's best not to sniff around and get out of his way.

Hi everybody!
I'm a girl from Poland and I love reading books, especially fantasy. That's why I decided to start a blog, so I could share my love of books with other people.
A week ago I started reading ''Pride and Prejudice'', a novel written by Jane Austin. My friend @hopefulmilkshakeengineer recommend this to me. Honestly, I find it boring, but I'm going to finish it anyway. Also, I literally love Elizabeth. She is an icon.
See you next Wednesday!
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book!''
''Pride and Prejudice'' Jane Austin

Final Result(s)
Oh, how the time flies! It truly feels like yesterday when we've announced the creation of this tournament. And yet, it has only been a little over a month (there weren't THAT many Romanov monarchs, and we are very efficient). Nonetheless. On this very fine day of 22.1.2024, we are both proud and saddened to announce the ending of this tournament. As said in a previous post, this blog isn't quite dead, not when there are other tournaments to promote, and so far we still have a horse in the Napoleonic Sexyman race (if you haven't heard of this, it's over at @napoleonic-sexyman-tournament) But there will be no more polls, at least none created by us, and no regular posts. If you'll miss the fun and games of picking your favourite historical monarch, we have a few recommendations:
@rulers-of-poland-tournament is also nearing the completion (sadly, they have already kicked out all of our candidates, because of course they have, the damn Poles)
@best-hohenzollern-ruler is also ongoing
@best-bourbon-monarch is still going on, and probably will for some time
@best-braganza-tournement also has already started
@best-pope-ever is also a thing, so for all of you papists out there, you can join the conclave
@besthrestate is a bit different in character (you are picking the best state of the Holy Roman Empire), but pretty much the same in spirit
Now, enough preamble, onto the results!
***
THE CROWN OF MONOMAKH
Main tournament was a profoundly tense affair, especially at the finale, where we had a very close race between everyone's favourite (though by no means the most) toxic girlboss and the one mildly less autocratic than the rest. And oh my, what a competition it was - would the electorate's love of girlbosses and sense of fun prevail over the plain old moral considerations? After all, when it comes to competence, you could make the case for both. In the end, thanks to two well-placed last minute endorsements, Alexander II. prevailed and gained the title of Best Romanov Monarch! A round of applause for Sasha, everyone!
Tumblr media
THE TRUE HEIR OF RURIKIDS
This one kind of got out of hand when your esteemed admin didn't manage to learn from history and turned to the FUCKING POLES for help. As a result, the electorate of @rulers-of-poland-tournament overran the poll and let Władisław IV. Vasa win a decisive victory. Our new absolute ruler has assured us that he has already declared war on the meddlesome Poles for this (for the record, second place, also pretty decisively, went to Boris Godunov).
Tumblr media
BEST ROYAL FAVOURITE
Okay, we get snubbing our great forefather Filaret once, but two times? And he gets NO VOTES??? For shame! This electorate has disappointed us immensely. Otherwise, the results are pretty much what you'd expect; the one and only almighty chaos gremlin has come out on top, and Ekaterina II. fans out there can at least be content with this title for their beloved's long-time partner (possibly secret husband?).
Tumblr media
BEST RULER OF KIEVAN RUS'
Because Rurikids don't have their own tournament yet. Anyway, this electorate has shown a slight (though not as pronounced as you might think considering these are Romanov enjoyers) preference for the toxic girlboss flavor of monarch, so no surprises there: Saint Olga, of course it's Saint Olga.
Tumblr media
BEST ROMANOV PALACE
We've been told this one was kinda unfair, since we avoided some very obvious candidates. considering its historical significance, we suspect the victor of this one would easily win anyway, just not THAT decisively. Anyway, the best Romanov palace is Winter Palace, and it's not even close.
Tumblr media
WORST ROMANOV MONARCH
As a nice bookend to this post, we are handing out the title of Worst Romanov Monarch together with the Best one! We thought this one might not be representative of the actual state of affairs, considering the unusual quickfire nature of this poll, as a result of which the attendance seems to have been low... But looking at the results, this sounds about right. Of course the electorate that crowned Alexander II. the best Romanov monarch would think his son was the worst one. Anyway, hooray for Alexander III., the Worst Romanov Monarch! *unethusiastic cheers*

hi kasia! I know you’re very busy with the apartment remodeling (I hope that’s going well!! Or not awful at least) but I was wondering if you had any recommendations for places to visit in Poland? I’m visiting one of my friends in Krakow but I’ll have a few extra days to myself so I wanted to see if you had any recs :) thank you!
hi anon! i hope this isn't too late 🏃🏻‍♂️🙈 i apologise for not having had the time to respond earlier!!! unfortch i AM very busy these days ):
but ANYWAY. if it's just a few days, i'd recommend sticking to Kraków or taking a train ride to either the mountains (Zakopane, for example, which is super touristsy, but probably also the easiest to navigate as a foreigner) or Warsaw. keep in mind though (bc idk when you'll be here) that October 31 and November the 1st and then November the 11th are public holidays in Poland (the first two religious, and the latter is Independence Day, def avoid Warsaw around then) and the trains and roads will be super crowded.
i'm only going to stick to Kraków i apologise but i'm sure your friend is gonna help out a lot with recs as well! and Warsaw most certainly has a great web presence for touristsy spots, but if you need me to at list some bigger museums or etc. at least, let me know. LASTLY, i'm about to copy paste recs i gave to another mutual a few months back, so - Steph, if you're seeing this, i hope you don't mind! 🩷
first things first, jakdojade.pl (either the app version, or just www.jakdojade.pl opened via the browser app) is a super handy website that shows you how to get from point A to point B, which buses/tram lines to take, etc. there are some major road renovations taking place right now around the Most Dębnicki area (near the Wawel castle), so please keep that in mind! not sure about the tram lines around the Main Train Station as well. 🤔 i think there were plans to renovate the Lubicz line, but i don't remember when. :(
Kraków is great for sightseeing, because it's quite densely built, so you can see a lot of landmarks just by walking around on foot in the Old City area! the Old City is situated like 7 mins from the main train station. in the Main Square area, the Mariacki church with an altar of a famous polish artist Wit Stwosz is definitely worth seeing, as well as Sukiennice (the building right in the center of the Square) with its underground museum.
near the Main Square, there's a gallery of modern art called Bunkier Sztuki, address: Rynek Główny (Main Square) 20, 31-008 Kraków. i haven't been there in a few years so i'm actually not sure what the current exhibits in there are and if they're worth seeing, but hopefully they are!
there's Muzeum Książąt Czartoryskich on św. Jana street 19, 31-017 Kraków which used to host Da Vinci's The Lady with an Ermine, but i think it's currently on loan for some museum in Warsaw? it was actually transferred to the National Museum of/in Kraków earlier this year, but google is being confusing, so i'm not sure if it's currently there or in warsaw 🤔 the National Museum is another place you might potentially want to visit: Muzeum Narodowe w Krakowie, al. 3 Maja 1 street.
there's obviously the Wawel Castle, the historic residence of Polish kings, as Kraków used to be Poland's capital before Warsaw. i haven't been inside in years, but it's probably still worth it! and even if you don't wanna/decide to go inside, you might want to just stroll around the castle grounds. Wawel is right in the city centre as well, so it's another one of those Kraków's staples you can go to by foot!
around the Main Square, there are several "famous" streets with quirky cafes and shops you can visit. and even if you don't go inside, you can just stroll down those streets to get a feel of the city. for example the Floriańska street, Grodzka street, saint Jan or saint Tomasz streets, the Bracka street. no matter which one of these you decide to take from the Main Square, you'll be getting that Kraków experience :)
then there's the historic Jewish district of Kraków called Kazimierz. on one hand, packed with difficult history, on the other, it's become the most hip part of the city! again, loads of famous cafes, pubs, and shops are situated there, some festivals take place there, and so on. you can just stroll around the district, and then visit the Mocak gallery of contemporary art, for example! https://en.mocak.pl/ , address 4 Lipowa St 30-702 Kraków.
just like with Bunkier Sztuki, i haven't seen the current exhibits there, so idk if they're any good, but i personally like Mocak, and you might like it as well! it's at the edge of the Kazimierz district, and the Kazimierz district is right next to the Old City district. you can go from Old City to Kazimierz on foot or take a few quick tram stops.
https://duze-podroze.pl/krakow-kazimierz/
this site is in Polish, but you can take a look at the bolded names and pics - it's a handy guide re: what to look for when you're strolling around in Kazimierz. there are jewish cemeteries, synagogues, the Boże Ciało church, the Wolnica square with Muzeum Etnograficzne (etnographic museum) on it... (https://etnomuzeum.eu/ , the site has an english version that i can't link to directly for some reason). loads of places to see even if you want to just look at them from an outside, you know?
some other places potentially worth checking out: Jagiellonian University's botanical gardens, address Mikołaja Kopernika 27, 31-501 Kraków.
then there are three locations of the Museum of photography in Kraków BUT i'm gonna come clean and admit i still haven't visited any ajdjd 🏃🏻‍♂️ so idk if they're any good, and also they don't seem to have english versions of their websites? unless my phone is failing me. but street addresses are: Rakowicka 22A, Józefitów 16, Królowej Jadwigi 220.
tl;dr sticking to Kraków is a great idea for a short stay, because you can concentrate on only two districts (Old City/Main Square + Kazimierz), and there'll be PLENTY to see, and you can reach those places by foot or via short tram rides! if you're thinking about taking some trips in the Małopolskie voivodeship where Kraków is situated, there's the historic Wieliczka saltmine which is pretty famous: https://www.wieliczka-saltmine.com/ but you'd need winter clothes for that underground trip. you can reach Wieliczka by regular city buses, which is great.
then there's obviously Oświęcim known as Auschwitz-Birkenau, but that one would be heavy, and it'd take probably at least a half of your day: https://www.auschwitz.org/en/visiting/ as it's further from Kraków than Wieliczka.
please remember that the opening hours tend to be 9 am - 6 pm in most places, sometimes even shorter one day a week (sunday or monday or tuesday, typically), or some of them might be closed one day a week. so always remember to check them beforehand! it's also always worth checking if any place has any dedicated day where they offer a free pass or a discount too, you should find that info on their websites.
some places to eat in you might want to check out, although again, i'm sure your friend will be helping out with these as well: Zapiekanki in okrąglak (legendary, mandatory spot!), Nolio, Hamsa, Akita Ramen, Boccanera ristorante pizzeria, trattoria la campania, ima sushi, Sushi Royal, Viale Verde, Restaurant Martello, Sushi 77, Restauracja Bianka, Chinkalnia Restauracja Gruzinska, Hospudka u Nas
aaand that's all from me, sorry i didn't have the time for more! 🩷 HOPE U ENJOY YOUR STAY!!!!!!!!

Okaay, my whole Tumblr is about Eurovision, so I decided to listen some of the Grand Final songs.
All the singers I listened to was nice, although Poland and Sweden were ehh.. Not my style.
I started thinking how wild is Hetavision. I mean, some amazing creators did actually impressive arts of the countries! It's just a bit wild for me.
And I realized I did this last year too, with Norway and Iceland :'D
Tumblr media
Yes, 2022 Eurovision, Norway Grand Final with Sigurður Emil Steillson and Lukas Bondevik. It's old and cringe, don't judge me.
In Hungary, there's no interest in Eurovision in the past 2 years, that's why I'm so uninformed (but some tumblrs helped me understand what's going on), and honestly, I deeply dissapoint in my own country. All the amazing singers like the guy from Finland or the the woman who represented as France was really good!
And in Hungary, a contest about the best song of the year (A Dal, "The Song") voted for this thing:
youtube
If you want to listen to some good hungarian musics, I'd recommend these:
Classical:
Omega - Gyöngyhajú Lány
Máté Péter - Egyszer véget ér
Rock:
Carson Coma - Polaroid
Tankcsapda - Mennyország tourist
Alternative:
Pál Utcai Fiúk - Kérnéd
Pál Utcai Fiúk - Esőben
Pop:
Kelemen Kabátban - Úton
Irigy Hónaljmirigy - Numerakirály
There are bunch of other good songs, but I can't really enumerate those into these styles. I speak of military and theatre songs now. Some examples:
Rómeó és Júlia - Lehetsz király (theatre song)
Kárpátia - Horthy Miklós katonája vagyok (military song)
It's just my taste, this list doesn't means it will be good to your ears. I didn't consider some styles (for example disco) beacuse I don't listen any song in that theme
Lol, I don't really can say a reason why I wanted to make this, but it's here. Why am I still writing this, no one will read it anyways.

Germany: - *watching through documents* Well, your timing is impeccable because it just so happens that we have an opening right now.
Lithuania: - Yes, we heard and we're so excited, everyone knows this is the best private school in town. :D
Germany: - And it says here that you have homeschooling Rytprūsiai for some time, how's that been going?
Lithuania: - It's been so rewarded spending time with my little angel. :D Breaks my heart to see it end...
Lithuania: - ANYWAY, here's his lunch, it's all packed and we'll pick up before~
Germany: - Eh, wait, wait. Just a second. There are few other families on the waiting list before you.
Lithuania: - Oh, they are?
Germany: - Yes, but Poland gave you such a glowing recommendation, and to be quite frank, we could use a little more diversity in the school. It's been quite a long time since we've had a pupil of a Prussian descent.🌸
Rytprūsiai: 🤨🤨🤨
Lithuania: - Ah.
Lithuania: - Well. We are very proud of our heritage but Rytprūsiai can stand on his own merits, he's very bright. And I know I'm biased but I do think he's a budding young genius. :D
Rytprūsiai: -...I'm Prussian?🤨🤨
*awkward pause*
Lithuania: *starts sweating* - Look, honey, what did you just say? :D
Rytprūsiai: - *points at Germany* He called me Prussian!🤨😡
Lithuania: - *more sweating* You are Prussian, honey. :D You know that. :D *looks at Germany, still smiling widely*
Rytprūsiai: - Since when, I thought we were Lithuanians🤨🤨
Germany:
Lithuania: 😃😃😃 - yEESSS but our ancestors came from Prussia *looking at Germany* hahaha
Germany:
Rytprūsiai: - Really?🤨 So we're like those people who wear dumb armors and slaughter others simply for not being Christian?🤨🤨
*awkward pause*
Lithuania: - YOU BUSY, WE SHOULD GO! :D THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME *shakes Germany's hand* AGAIN, WE REALLY WANT TO JOIN YOU HERE and help you with that diversity thing, so just let us know!
Lithuania and Rytprūsiai: *leave the room*
Germany:
Lithuania, angry whispering from behind the door: - SAY IT.
Rytprūsiai, whispering from behind the door: - But I don't even know what it means!
Lithuania: - JUST SAY IT!
Rytprūsiai, appears at the door, still looking confused:
Rytprūsiai: - Auf Wiedersehen, Herr.
From behind the door appears Lithuania's hand grabs Rytprūsiai and both disappear.

new year new reads and also i'm now consciously trying to read a book from every country plus places like Hawaii and Puerto Rico and Greenland that should be their own countries. Anyway here's what I read in January:
I've been pretty brutal about not wasting my time reading books I'm not into so hopefully I won't have any books that fall into the "bad" category this year. Also I did read 2 embarrassing romances and tbh i'm gonna keep those a lil secret because I dont really recommend either of them
The okay You Are Here by Thich Nhat Hanh (Vietnam): I think it's good for its intended audience and it reinforced some of the stuff I've been discussing in therapy but I found it very repetitive and kind of surface level when it came to actual Buddhist philosophy. Like I wanted to know a little more than what he wrote.
A Fortune for Your Disaster by Hanif Abdurraqib: I am obsessed with his prose but unfortunately I do not think his poetry is for me! I read his other collection last year and felt similarly. I think in the future I'll maybe skip any other poetry collections that come out.
The good/great (this is always in ascending order, I feel like I need to specify that)
Binti by Nnedi Okorafor: She did a pretty good job of worldbuilding in the like 90 pages of this book, and it's part of a series so I'm really curious to continue it and read more books in this African-futurism genre. Took a minute to get used to the YA narration (is this YA? I don't know)
Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski (Poland): This was a little sad and a little sweet, and I liked it very much but wish I would've read in the summer because it really would've hit. More vibes than plot but still enjoyed it.
Monstrilio by Gerardo Samano Cordova (Mexico): Finally a book that was as weird as I wanted it to be! Loved the 4 POVs we got, loved how messy the characters were, loved the ending. Would recommend despite one plot point that I found so disturbing I had to put it down (the book wasn't that graphic I just let my mind run a lil wild and scared myself).
Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar: as good as everyone says. Read it.
Brickmakers by Selva Almada (Argentina): I started this book a couple months ago and had to put it down because it was soooo jarring and I wasn't prepared, which I think makes the book so effective given the themes criticizing machismo culture. It's crass and gross and really blunt but omg I have not been able to stop thinking about it, or about the final line of the book since I read it.

Hey D, how are you? ✨🎥 here! It seems that I come here every 6 months 😅
Mini update of my life: went to a Little Big concert in Poland and had a great time, got a bonus raise for every film fund I got (it’s pretty impossible to get them all due to the insane competition but at least we get one or two every year), still haven’t found a nice apartment (renters are insane and ask for stupidly high prices for tiny places with kitchens from 30 years ago 💀💀💀), did a super intensive course on production and that sucked the life put of me in November (it was Thursdays to Sundays so I had 3 weeks of no free days!), and my team changed a bit, we let go of one of the additions because he couldn’t perform well on the basic tasks and hired full time a girl that worked with us before as an intern (she’s good so far)
As for the projects that I’m working on, SLOW finally released in Spain this weekend and is gonna release this year in a lot of countries (US, UK and Ireland, Indonesia, Poland…). We also have two films scheduled to start shooting by March, another on April-May and possibly a fourth one in summer. So yeah, a pretty hectic year this 2024.
How are you? Anything interesting in your life? In kpop? In theater?
hello my friend!!!!!!! has it really been six months wtf time is FLYING....... don't worry about it tho i've been busy you've been busy, adulthood is meeting your friends every few months anyways
WOW that sounds crazy....but also exciting!! would love to hear about how the course on production went! very excited to hear that slow is gonna be released soon, usually stuff gets released in canada at the same time as the us so i'll keep an eye out.
idk if that much interesting has happened....we had a crazy busy christmas at the shop; i ended up singlehandedly doing an order of eighteen 2.5' custom evergreen + eucalyptus wreaths.........in a week..................do not recommend. i'm not doing any theatre but i did FINALLY see hadestown a few months ago! fantastic spectacular groundbreaking etc etc. oh and i recently got a commission to paint a mural! had the prelim meeting this morning, i haven't painted something big since my first year of grad school when i was doing life sized cave paintings so i'm excited! my therapist has been slowly coaxing me back into doing art and i'm being very slow about it, but at least it's progress!
tbh i have not kept up with that much kpop..........i'm in the process of finishing my end of year posts still but this year was so meh that the motivation is not there (plus working full time again).........there were some really really good cbs but most of everything was so mediocre. i am hoping praying pleading that companies start getting their act together for 2024 and there's been some promising stuff already, but. it's only january 😔

have any artist/album/somg recommendations to share? im going a roadtrip tmrw so im asking around bc i’ll have a lot of time to listeb to new stuff
oh god, i think i might not be the best person to ask, because my taste in music is kind of mainstream, so you might know all of it already.
i listen mostly to taylor swift, and, based on your profile, i'm pretty sure that you already know her music, but anyway i'm going to tell you what are her songs that i think are underrated: the lucky one, begin again, i know places, clean, so it goes..., new year's day, mad woman, epiphany, the lakes, paris, bigger than the whole sky, you are in love, and ONLY THE YOUNG PLEASE LISTEN TO IT IF YOU DON'T KNOW IT YET I FEEL LIKE NO ONE ELSE KNOWS IT (i know that basically every single one of her songs is kind of popular, but i just wanted to share my thought that these songs deserve to be more popular).
i also listen to conan gray, i think that his newest song (never ending song) is very different from the older ones, so don't judge him based only on it, he has a lot of sad songs too (like summer child for an example). (also don't take it as me saying that i don't like never ending song, i like it, but i just think that his older songs are better.)
also, girl in red. i don't all of her songs yet, but she's pretty cool too.
there is this polish singer, he won the voice kids poland or something like this. i don't think that he's really really good but i'm very sentimentic towards his songs because i used to listen to them a lot of time, his name is marcin maciejczak.
i also really like mäneskin.
oh, and obviously ABBA.
i think that there is also a list of songs that i listen to, but don't really have a strong opinion about the singer, so i'm just going to put it here by title:
matilda by harry styles
tired of california by nessa barret
pink skies by LANY
dancing in the kitchen by LANY
30/90 by andrew garfield, it's from a movie i think
ceilings by lizzy mcalpine
why am i like this by orla gartland
fourth of july by sufjan stevens
the village by wrabel
cure for me by aurora
what a perfect day for crying by iamnotshane
boys will be bugs by cavetown
labour by paris paloma
gladiator by jann
can ghosts be gay by carpetgarden
skeleton by DAMONA
there is also this song made by a polish group that makes fan covers of songs from a game (i don't remember the name of the game) and they made this cover named "idol" and i suprisingly really like it. they're named NanoKarrin, you can listen to it too if you want to
sorry for this answer being so long, have a wonderful day and i hope that your trip will go great <3

How about some headcannons as if the pets were in high school?
Ah yes, high school, the place that on its own inspired so many movies and fics that are more unrealistic than my delusions. The most exciting thing that happened to me in high school was that one of my teachers once called my "a ray of sunshine" only because I erased the board lol. That was nice actually.
Warning, my description of high school and everything related to it in this post might differ from yours (or anyone's reading it). I went to high school here, in Poland, and polish school is not exactly the same american or any other school. If you see something that makes you go "tf is this??" it's probably because of that. Let's dive in and enjoy <3:
Russell:
unsurprisingly, out of his friends he gets the best grades and is the closest to what you would call a "nerd" (I really hate this term being used to stereotypize someone but work with me for now), as in: he studies a lot and prepares to every test etc, participates in a lot of contests (sometimes on his own accord, sometimes because teachers or peers recommend him), and for a year he was a class president (similarly, he didn't want to do that but someone said he should be and he won the vote. The good thing is that he actually ended up kinda liking it, but he didn't try for the position the next or any other year)
his worst classes are foreign-language classes. Contrary to everything else, he's not naturally good at languages, but fortunately he has the determination to still study them and get good grades anyway
he actually knows quite a few people all around the school and from all grade levels, mainly due to participating in those numerous contests, also being a class president and just being known. Besides that, he also knows and is on good terms with some "popular kids" too. He's genereally well-respected really
his friends support him in... basically all of that. They're all just stressed highschool kids at the end of the day and know when to tease or get serious
although he prefers to stay near classrooms during breaks, sometimes he will venture to the school shop and buy something to eat without thinking. It relieves stress
Zoe:
ok, so she's actually a pretty good student, partly because she needs them good grades to still do modeling sometimes
as you can probably guess, she knows a lot of popular kids in the school and calls them her friends in front of them but outside of that she is fully aware that these relationships are mostly shallow so she doesn't actually care that much about them
yes, she dates quite a lot but usually not for very long. Once that first "omg, he's so dreamy" wears off she usually initiates a breaks up. However, she realized that this is how most of those romantic relationship go for her and is working on not impulsively dating everybody she has a crush on in the moment. She waits for a longer time to see if it wears off or not and makes decisions based on that
she was once a class president as well on her very own accord. She basically won because she was very charismatic. She just wanted a "higher" position for a while
she surprisingly enjoys p.e. classes as she's quite good at some of the sports (namely volleyball and jogging in general)
she also participates in almost every sort of talent show the school holds. Of course mainly to show off her singing skills and satisfy her ego. She won her fair share too. One time she even performed a singing and dancing routine, and the other time she sang with Sunil, Vinnie, and Penny (like in this episode with "hearty time" song. Man, that song is good)
Sunil:
his grades are just as good as Russell's if not better in certain classes but he doesn't really participate in any sort of contests or anything so it's not as visible if you're not looking
he is a lot of teachers' favourite. He's clearly smart and he knows how to behave, also sometimes has those cofidence boosts that make him absolutely shine in class. In short: he's a delight
he is a LOT of people's crush. Damn tall, dark and handsome, plus he can have that almost mysterious aura around him without it being cringe-worthy. And so he gets a shit-ton of valentine cards, comparable to Zoe even
he did participate a few times in those talent show thingies with magic performances of course. The first time he lowkey wanted to take part but needed a lot of convincing to actually go through with it. Once he did while he didn't win or anything, he got a lot of applause which just made his heart soar and convinced him to take part a few more times. However, he always takes someone with him, as his assistant or help for the trick. If he needs an assistant it's either Penny Ling or Minka, and if he needs a more direct help it's either Minka or Vinnie because they're small, thin and flexible (you know, for those tricks when a person needs to fit in a box but look like this isn't the case)
Penny Ling:
also a fairly good student! But not as naturally talented as Sunil or Russell which makes her feel inferior sometimes
basically, everyone loves her: other students, teachers, staff. Of course that niceness has been used against her a few times, but fortunately she managed to learn to stand for herself in those situations. And if she can't sometimes, her friends will do it for her if possiblr
but her pleasant demeanor also can help with many situations. She uses this tactic sparingly, not to overdo it, and because of that she's almost 100% times successful when she's the one to ask if the test can be postponed for a while or if the class could watch a movie that day instead of having a normal lesson
however, she also has that tougher side (remember? If she wanted to kill you she could) that only few other from that highschool know besides her friends. If we assume that all the pets from the show are in this highschool it would be people like Sharukh, Biskit twins (Cashmere and Velvet in this case), Tangier etc who are aware of that more murderous side because they were assholes to her or her friends. They're lowkey scared. Okay, highkey
she's often happy to participate in fundraisers at school, especially if they are animals-orientated. Whether that be baking/ making something for the school to sell or being the person who stands behind the table and sells them (preferably along with someone else), she's often on board
Minka:
she really likes accompanying Penny when she's doing that whole selling stuff for a fundraiser, so she's often that someone else Penny needs
so yeah, art class is her favorite and also because of that class she was able to get out of her art comfort zone a bit. What does that mean exactly? One time they needed to incorporate other stuff than paint into their paintings, it could be feathers, strimers, etc. Although hesistant at first, she discovered that she actually loves adding things like that to her paintings
her other favourite class is p.e. because she gets to move, and after a long day of sitting she NEEDS to move, and as such she's super hyperactive during it which led to some minor accidents a few times whether it was her, someone else, or school environment getting hurt hehe
her school locker is heavily decorated. It has so many stickers, some pictures, and drabbles. She especially likes taping her friends drabbles, no matter how bad they say they are, she doesn't care, she just likes them and, if given a permission, will tape them to her locker
she's usually the loudest when it comes to cheering for her friends, for example during those damn talent shows. Sometimes she even has a small banner with "Go, Zoe!" or someone else's name written on it
Vinnie (some of those will go heavily with my whole "his mother wanted him to be a "perfect child"" headcanon, just saying):
in general, he dislikes school, partly because he has bad memories of being pressured to be the best student there is, and that makes him really dislike studying, doing homework, even listening to teachers etc, but it's not out of disrespect or anything
so his grades are of course bad, but! While he might dislike all that crap and is not motivated by grades themselves he is motivated by not wanting to stay behind because if there's one things that makes school better it is being there with his friends. In short: he does just enough not to retake the class, and that means that for a period of time, usually at the end of the semester he will put a lot of effort into tests and other stuff just enough to get a few good, passable grades
as tempted as he is to sit at the same desk as Sunil, he will a lot of the time (especially during exams) sit somewhere else or with someone who he knows doesn't care as much about listening to teachers and focusing if possible, because he does in fact want Sunil to be able to focus because he knows that while he doesn't, Sunil does care about his own grades
but there is one subject that he is genuinely good at even without trying, and it's the most unexpected one - math. Those might be the remains of this trying to be the best student thingy but either way he's unironically good at math
he goes to the school shop a lot to buy small snacks (sometimes he also buys something for one of his friends or more if he has the money for that) and likes chatting with the lady that works there and she really likes him
he doesn't skip school nearly as much as some would assume. He likes being there because his friends are there and that sooths his soul
ok, I could write so much more for him as always but I shall control myself
Pepper:
now, she likes skipping school as much as possible. She tries not to go overboard, but if she sees an opportunity, she will
she's kinda like Vinnie when it comes to grades, as in she doesn't care that much about them, but she uses a different strategy than he does. Instead of only trying really hard for a short period of time, she will try all year just not too much but enough to get her decent, passable grades
she likes pulling off small pranks in class the whoopie cushion or replaced markers kind. Some teachers find them humorous too and she gains bonus likability points but some, well, not so much and she got in trouble a few times because of that
if Vinnie is sitting at the same desk as she is they will do anything besides what they're supposed to be doing becuase they both know the other doesn't care either. They will discreetly chat, eat something, show each other pictures or memes etc. For the same reason they sometimes pair up for projects because then everyone will get what they want: Pepper and Vinnie will get a pertner that won't force them to do much work and is fine with that while the rest of their friends will not have to worry about doing the project with them and do it with someone who cares and will elevate their grade
she's good at guessing, sometimes she will get better grades on tests than her other friends who actually studied hard, "It's a talent" she says
Ahh, that was satisfying. And quite long too but is anyone even surprised anymore? If you'd like me to talk about something that I might have missed or didn't think of at all here feel free to let me know.

Hi i'm the anon from Poland that was happy that you enjoyed your trip to Kraków ( i don't know how else to explain it i hope it good enough that you know what I'm talking about 😫) sorry that I'm replaying to you after so many days but i saw your ask and i couldn't answer right away and then it slipped my mind but I'm here now
So when it comes to recommendations it depends if you like the city more or mountains ( like hiking and stuff ) bc when I went on holidays with my parents we mostly went to like the mountains area bc they like to hike and all that and i haven't had the chance to travel alone ( without my parents ) much so i don't really know any particular cities to recommend but the one I can recommend you is Wrocław i really liked it there and it has a water museum (? It really cool bc it not your typical museum it like interactive and stuff i can't remember on top of my head right now) and other museums too and it has lots of bridges so it looks a bit different ( at least it did to me) from other cities
Or you can hit up the sea side so yeah i don't really know what you're looking for exactly but i will be happy to help if you have any questions or want more precise recommendations
I always loved to travel so it will be no issue for me and i can relate to filling better in an unknown country/city bc it always feel so refreshing and different from the normal everyday life
So anyway i hope you're having a great day or night 💜
Sorry, I'm such a bad person. It's been a long time since you replied to me and I'm only answering now, I'm so sorry.
Omg, Wrocław yes! I was already thinking about it 'cause someone's video of their weekend there keeps popping up everywhere and I kinda fell in love of what I saw. I wanna go there, maybe when the weather is nice and chill.
I think this was a sign, so thank you 💜 and I hope you're feeling great.

Hi! I never really open tumblr anymore but I do check your blog every few months to see how you are ❤️ that’s how I saw your post about me now lol 😆 so I thought I would send a little ask. I’m good, I just finished my second year of university so I only have one year left and that’s crazy to think about. I got my first job, it was a job my brother recommended I apply to (it’s a bit funny because he has his job because I told him to apply for it). I love it and everyone is so nice and helpful. I have already started saving money to move to Stockholm after I graduate since the lowest price of a studio apartment tends to be about 3 million Swedish crowns 🫠 I will have to take a loan but I am just trying to have as much money as possible upfront. I also spent two months in Poland doing an internship (as part of my degree), the internship was absolutely horrible because the company was basically using interns to run the place to put it broadly but that’s a long story. I don’t regret it though, the main reason I went there was so I could spend more time with my relatives so I was living with one of my cousins and I got to celebrate Easter with my grandparents for the first time! I also got to visit Warszawa and another cousin. I kinda joined the international students at my cousins university because she took care of them so I got free entry and free drinks at bars and clubs. I almost went to Krakow with them but I had to work and also I was there a few months ago. In honestly think I’m doing the best I have in a while! Except for falling down the stairs two days ago and my therapist not calling me back but I am still at my happiest in a long while! 😊 I hope you are good too! How is the nursing degree going? I think nursing is super impressive I wouldn’t be able to do it. My brother started studying to become a doctor and I know I would be miserable in that field lol.
-🐐❤️
hello my love!!! i’m so happy to hear from you. glad things are going well for you so happy to hear that you’re almost done with university.
saving up is a really good idea I know it helped me when i had my job i made sure to save $100 from each paycheck and it helped me pay like 3 months worth of bills. i would also maybe say to stock up on some things before you move out that way you already have some stuff like toiletries, cleaning supplies and stuff like that (don’t know if that’s just an american thing though)
I will be going into my third year this fall and i’m really excited because now i actually get to do classes more closely related to nursing rather than just GERs. i have to apply for the nursing program next year so fingers crossed 🤞🏾
anyway so happy to hear from you and i’m glad you’re doing good 🫶🏾

i listend to my Spotify discover weekly playlist and it played me this song and I was like wait this isn’t english it’s polish, then I looked up the singer and he won X factor in 2012 and it gave me a bit of a shudder
https://open.spotify.com/track/0oYqfYHqP2O9V3ISCQ8MMN?si=PnxwH0EgSTuBkf2iG7xOaQ&context=spotify%3Aplaylist%3A37i9dQZEVXcMYB4kvq3RWo
omg it's Dawid Podsiadło!!! He won the X Factor here, that's true but he's been doing really well and he's one of the most popular artists in Poland. He sold out the same stadium Harry will be playing here this year, so. Fun fact, there was a running joke among him and his fans that Harry is copying him haha. Anyway, I really recommend his music, especially songs like mori and Post from his latest album, but you'd have to understand Polish to fully grasp the lyrics.

anyways here’s a google doc documenting national and international laws broken by recent decisions. it is based by the us but polish people can definitely find something here too, given that poland is also bound by several international laws.
feel free to add to it in comments and stuff, i’ll try to keep it updated. but be aware i am just one person and i can’t make it publicly editable because i just know some people will fuck up everything collected on the document.
idk what this information can do because i don’t know enough about political aspect of countries i do not live in but i assume it may be somewhat useful for holding people accountable?? idk. feel free to add to this because honestly this account is a sideblog and a throwaway in case it turns out this doc is useless.
please note i do not fully know the law and this was all done in a dedicated two hour session so perhaps it’s inaccurate but i’m pretty sure it goes against several basic human rights laws and conventions the nations signed so, like, yeah.
also for those in a silly goofy mood here are some posts i can highly recommend in case you’re interested. one, two, three, four, five and for polish / european people one, two, three
if you are someone who voted for a ban on abortions i highly recommend you educate yourself with the help of amnesty international. and also stay the fuck away from my blog and post. thanks.
