Hey there, so I’m brand new to tumblr but I just had to reach out to tell you how much I am just LOVING Remain Nameless. This is my second Dramione fanfic (after Manacled) and in all my years of loving Harry Potter, I never thought I’d understand the Dramione hype…but now I don’t know how I even went without it. I’ve just finished chapter 15 and I’m honestly torn between reading on (which I so want to do) and getting into the kitchen and baking some scones 😂 I think I need them, at least as a reading snack! Do you have any amazing blueberry scone recipes? 🤣🤣 I’m genuinely curious, plus I know that UK and US scones are quite different so I’m interested to learn more about the American style scone (I’m assuming you’re from America but apologies if I’m assuming wrongly.) Anyway, you may never see this and I’m sure you’re forever getting comments about how amazing your writing is but just wanted to get it out there and add my tuppenceworth onto the pile. I’m absolutely loving this story and as much as I can’t stop reading, I never want it to end! Apologies for the ramble and I hope you’re all well and having a lovely Sunday. All the best, Laura
hi laura!
welcome to tumblr (and dramione) and thank you so much for such a sweet message. I do happen to be american 😂 and absolutely not offended at the assumption.
I've experimented with a few different recipes and landed on this one as my go-to recipe for baking blueberry scones. If you try it, let me know how yours turn out 🥰 it's certainly a favorite in my household.

okay quick inheritance games headcanon here:
if libby and xander ever baked together she would most likely show him how to make blueberry scones (and lemon) but xander would most definitely create a barrier between the flavours from how much he despises the lemon scones

Vegan blueberry scones with lemon-ginger-cardamom curd
Recipe under the cut!
Patreon | Tip jar
Makes 8-12 scones
INGREDIENTS:
For the scones:
2 3/4 cup (330g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (114g) light brown sugar
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
zest of 1 lemon (about 1 tsp)
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 inch chunk (5g) ginger, peeled and grated (optional)
1/2 cup (113g) very cold non-dairy margarine
3/4 cup soy or other non-dairy milk
2 Tbsp neutral oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract (optional)
1 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
For the lemon curd:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 Tbsp agar agar flakes*, or 1 Tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
1/2 Tbsp lemon zest (about 2 lemons)
1/2 cup (120g) non-dairy margarine
1-inch chunk (10g) ginger, sliced
5 pods green cardamom, or 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
pinch salt
*If using agar powder, use 1/2 tsp.
INSTRUCTIONS:
For the scones:
Use a surform tool (microplane) to zest the lemon, or use a vegetable peeler to pull off just the top layer of the peel in strips and then mince.
Add flour, sugar, lemon zest, baking powder, salt, and ginger into a large bowl and whisk until combined. (If measuring by volume, measure flour by scooping gently into a dry measuring cup and levelling it off with the flat of a knife.)
Add the margarine and cut it into the bowl with a dough cutter or a fork until most of the pieces of margarine are roughly pea-sized. There may be some larger chunks.
Whisk wet ingredients (milk, oil, and extracts) in a small bowl until combined. Add in with dry ingredients and mix until just combined--the dough should just come together without being sticky. Add more milk 1 Tbsp at a time if necessary.
Add blueberries and gently mix until incorporated.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Form drop scones by dropping heaping spoonfuls of dough two inches apart onto your baking sheet, or form triangular scones by shaping dough into a large, flat circle 3/4" thick and dividing the circle evenly with a sharp knife.
For flakier scones, freeze the shaped batter for about an hour.
Bake at 425F in the upper third of your oven for 20-25 minutes, until scones are firm and golden brown on top and cooked all the way through.
For the lemon curd:
If using whole cardamom: toast pods in a dry skillet on medium for a minute until fragrant. Break pods open and grind cardamom seeds in a mortar and pestle until finely powdered.
Whisk dry ingredients (sugar, agar or cornstarch, zest, cardamom, and salt) in a small sauce pot. Add lemon juice and mix until combined.
Add remaining ingredients (ginger and margarine) and bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly.
Lower heat to medium-low and simmer, whisking often, until thickened. Your curd is ready when your whisk leaves a trail on its surface (remember that it will thicken as it cools).
Pour curd into a bowl and refrigerate until cold.

Blueberry Scones
More treats from the piles of blueberries I’ve been buying. These scones aren’t too sweet, so they’re nice for breakfast. Sometimes I sprinkle the unbaked scones with turbinado sugar if I’m going to serve them with tea or coffee in the afternoon - they’re sweeter and prettier with the sugar crystals on top.
BLUEBERRY SCONES
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
6 tablespoons butter
1 large egg
1/2 cup buttermilk or plain yogurt
1 cup blueberries
Turbinado sugar, optional
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet or line it with parchment paper. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and lemon peel in a bowl. Add the butter in chunks and work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Mix the egg and buttermilk together and add them to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms. Add the blueberries and gently mix the dough to incorporate them, taking care not to crush the fruit. Break the dough in half and place on a floured surface. Press each half into a circle about 3/4” thick. Cut each circle into six wedges and place on the prepared cookie sheet. Sprinkle with some turbinado sugar if desired. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the scones are browned and well risen.

This thing about blueberry scones, is that I absolutely love them, but I'll be damned if the blueberries do not make the bread look moldy.

Hi there!
Not only is this super sweet, but excellent timing. I made some blueberry scones this morning (for real) and already have the itch to make more. I will gladly try this soon. I'm especially curious because he advocates for freezing them before baking. If you've tried these out, let me know!
