okay so hear me out. I barely take the time to write out stuff and my feelings; however, with the assistance of THC I feel I can do so.

Do you ever just crave the type of affection that melts into your skin like honey?

I feel pretty numb most of the time so my personal desires are really intense. Like then you go and meet people and can immediately tell right away if they fit the bill or not. And at the same time you are looking out for your wants and needs socially/romantically/sexually whatever, you feel like it's never gonna work out anyways. The worst type of paradoxical feeling in the world. Then like getting in your feelings is SUCH a hard place to get out of as well like gotta listen to music for three to five hours to accept the fact that those feelings exist and resolve them.

Then I remember that I want to become a PhD student and most Drs are like getting together with other Drs and then have DINK money oml. Rich af no kiddos. A dream tbh. I gotta acknowledge that I am into SMART men and can't lower the bar or I will find a way out of the situation quickly with someone who doesn't fit my standards.

Its hard to accept that I have these standards now. Narrows the "dating pool" or whatever.

There is someone on my mind these days. (,: straight pain bro I swear having feelings is the bane of humanity.

Just allowing love and accepting it when it comes into your life is something I would like to get better at.

Jack knew he shouldn’t have listened to Mac when he said he was fine, because now Mac was gone. Not gone gone, because he was most certainly still on base somewhere, but apparently he finally was able to make real working camouflage because no one had seen him since they first parted when they got back.

Mac wasn’t hurt, that was the first thing Jack had made sure of, so that wasn’t the reason Mac was avoiding him. He understood needing to be alone, but it was nearly impossible on base. There was always at least one other person. If they were lucky, the bunks would be empty for a few hours, but it was nearing night; guys were hustling to get every moment of sleep they could.

He had checked all the regular places Mac went when he needed to clear his head after a difficult outing, but couldn’t find him. He even went to check med just in case, but Doc Roe hadn’t seen him either.

There was still time until lights out, and Jack knew Mac would be in his bunk in the morning and that he had no real reason to worry, but that day had taken its toll and Mac was no doubt suffering the consequences.

“Dalton.” Jack turned at his name being called. “Ya left something in your ‘vee. Think ya should go get it.”

Jack nodded and clapped the man on the shoulder. “Thanks man. Been lookin everywhere for it.”

He didn’t know what to expect upon reaching the Humvees, but Mac laying on the hood with his back on the windshield, watching the sky was ultimately better than whatever else he might’ve found.

He didn’t say anything, merely hopped on the other side and stared into the darkening sky.

“How do you make the pain go away?”

Mac’s voice was uncharacteristically quiet as he spoke, Jack almost missing the question completely.

“Physical pain? Pretty sure Doc can make ya a nice morphine smoothie.”

“What about not physical?”

A sad smile twitched on Jack’s lips. “Don’t think ya can bud. Ya just kinda learn to live with it. Might forget it’s there for a while til somethin brings it back though. That might be the best you can get.”

He saw Mac nod slightly. “I’m tired, Jack.”

Jack knew Mac didn’t mean physically. “Well then, let’s get on to the bunks before we get ratted out.”
