if the links had YouTube channels what kind of content would they make
oh i can so get behind this
time: he’s too cryptid lol he appears in the background of Malon’s ranch vlogs. he makes his appearances stranger and stranger to mess with people bc he’s Like That
warriors: all the beauty. makeup, skin routine, fashion, etiquette. this is however staggered by him and artemis’ impromptu sparring matches bc she likes to ambush him while he’s streaming
twi: he’s just a little guy doin his farm things. he mostly talks about fishing and his goats and posts tutorials on how to properly herd and wrestle em. his audience is routinely shocked that he can haul 300 pound rams around. his most popular video is of illia roasting the shit out of him while talo and malo cheer her on (he left epona out overnight at the ranch on accident)
sky: he knows all the birds. all of em. he’s like the rainbow macaw guy that was just walkin his birds lol. he does volunteer work at a zoo and vlogs about days in the life of a zoology student. he also skydives with his girlfriend all the time and he and wind happily talk about seagulls, and he often introduces his sword at the beginning of his videos. he’s got all the sunshine energy
wild: he’s just Insane on social media. just a total gremlin. wind shows up in his videos a lot & they do crazy shit followed by a cooking tutorial from wild like nothing even happened
legend: he’s a nerd. such a nerd lol. he didn’t post often but when he does it’s always an infodump on the most random of topics, esp things he shouldn’t really have the right to know/vaguely concerning bc he knows Everything (with an occasional jewelry interlude with wars)
four: you never know what he’s going to post. smithing, pranking, breaking and entering; he gets away with the weirdest shit and no one knows how. wildcard fr
hyrule: he does those lil soft aesthetic videos with a lot of travelling, landscapes and rain. throughout the course of his videos he somehow becomes friends with increasingly more concerning animals until he’s just taking innocent selfies with a wolf pack in the middle of nowhere (which may or may not include twi)
wind: had to think about this one for a minute! i think he’d do a lot of out-to-sea videos and chaotic boat manning stuff with tetra. plus bombs! aryll often steals the show bc of how cute she is and often steals the actual camera itself. she talks about seagulls and fencing. wind also does cartography occasionally with legend bc they’re all about maps
this was really fun!! i think the tl;dr is that they're simply all too chaotic to not be entertaining XD twi and sky are the only vaguely normal ones

╭──────────.★..─╮
One Night With You
╰─..★.──────────╯
(Mike Schmidt x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary~ Mike is a very touch starved man. He spends all his nights at work and the daytime caring for Abby if not sleeping. He hadn't been with a girl since his junior year, making him feel like a total loser. The amount of times where Mike went back and forth with his inner thoughts, convincing himself that he was the problem was getting pretty intense and it was clear that he just needed a night out to clear his mind and prove those thoughts wrong.
You've been a "dancer" for the past few months at the downtown strip club, just trying to make ends meet. There was a tough competition working against you. You were new to this line of work whereas the other girls had been in the game for a while now, but you kept pushing on desperately. How else were you going to make rent or keep the lights on? The nights were slow and building a consistent flow of clientele proved itself to be a challenge, that is until one night when you meet a new guy outside of the nightclub.
Tags~ Stripper reader, Mike is a SIMP!!!, lowkey enemies to lovers but not really, no smut (YET...)
Note~ This took me much longer than I thought since I've been super burnt out of writing lately, but I hope you guys enjoy! As always if there's anything in particular you would like to see in chapter 2, please lemme know
⊱✿⊰
Mike felt confused with the lack of responsibilities and errands to run on this warm summer night. Abby was off at a sleepover and Steve finally hired a second night shift worker, leaving him all alone with his reoccurring self doubt introspections. Dude gets one night for himself and simply cannot think of a single thing to do to pass the time. He laid there in his bed tossing and turning unable to fall asleep. He jolts up feeling frustrated with himself, "Ughh... just fall asleep already bro..." He shifts around in his bed and grunts, "I can't do this-". He sits up and sulks his way into the living room, plopping down on the couch. Mike pulls out his phone and begins to scroll.
He isn't really the social media type but had made an anonymous instagram account a while ago for mindlessly scrolling. After what seemed like hours, Mike stumbles across a video of you. You were practicing a routine for the club, twirling and moving seductively. Mike felt himself grow larger in his pants and put the phone down in shock. He stares up at the ceiling in disbelief, damn you really got him feeling this type of way this quickly? He looks down at his lap and feels helpless. He wrestles with his feelings for a while and ultimately picks his phone back up to look more into you.
He clicks on your account and "researches" a bit. There's multiple videos of you practicing, photos of your skimpy outfits, and the most captivating selfies he's ever seen. One of your posts has a location tagged in the top corner, "Deja Vu Showgirls". He looks further into the club, finding that it's not too far from the pizzeria. "Fuck it. Why not..." he whispers to himself. Mike ensures he's well groomed for the occasion. if you're there he wants make a good impression. He showers, dresses in the best outfit he can come up with, and slaps some product in his hair. He finally felt content with his appearance and hopped in the car.
You weren't surprised to see another night play out typically. Maybe 2 or 3 cheap lap dances and a couple short sets up on the stage for less than 50 bucks. This clearly isn't working for you, at this point you've spent more on outfits and shoes than you've made while working here. An older gentleman walks up to you reeking of alcohol and cheap cologne, you couldn't help but gulp at the thought of providing your services for him. Yeah you were a stripper but you still had standards that made doing your job successfully hard at times.
"Well aren't you something?" he slurs while damn near tipping over from intoxication. You sigh and snap into your persona. "I'd hope so, this outfit ain't cheap y'know!" you reply in a flirtatious tone. You grab him by the hand and lead him to a booth, preparing for the worst. He starts groping on you sides which makes you shudder. Maybe this place isn't for you after all. "H-hands off baby.... Use your eyes and focus on me" you redirect with confidence. Times like these made you wish someone could just scoop you off your feet and save you.
He drives to the location with his heart pounding out of his chest. He'd never been to strip club before so Mike felt nervous even making his way closer to where you have the slightest chance of being at. He pulled into the parking lot and shut his car off abruptly, taking deep breaths to calm his nerves. "What if she isn't here? I don't even know the girl why am I acting so fuckin' weird about this.... I really need to get out of the house more" he thinks to himself while gripping onto the steering wheel. After a few mental pep talks to himself, he finally musters up the courage to get out and make his way in.
Just as he goes to push the door to the club open, you storm out with eyes welling with tears. Mike stumbles back a bit not wanting to startle you. You're holding your pricey Pleaser heels in hand, walking barefoot and trying your best to keep it together. All you want is to curl up into a ball and quit at life. You thought that creepy dude would cheap out on a dance, not grope and hurl insulting names at you for rejecting his advances! You look up from the ground and lock eyes with a man you've never seen before. He's cute... too cute to be wasting his time at some dingy place like this.
"Can I help you?" you snap at him with a shaky voice. It was hard not to notice the concerned look on his face. "No I'm-" he stutters before you promptly cut him off. "Leave me the fuck alone then." His face goes pale hearing you say this, he didn't even get a chance to meet you yet and he feels as if he already blew it. You pace towards your car and pop the trunk, filling it with the all the contents of your locker. You pick a T-shirt out of your duffle bag and drape it over your revealing outfit. His presence is burning a hole into your back so you swiftly turn around to meet his gaze.
He walks over slow and bashfully. There's a pink tint to his cheeks and he can't keep his hands still out of anxiousness. "Dude are you good?" you ask. He looks as if he's going to break a sweat, "Yeah... I'm good. Are you though? You looked pretty shaken up back there." You assumed he was just another guy looking to get lucky with a dancer after a shift change. "Look, if you want to get some action, walk your ass into the club. I'm not who you're looking for" you reply. His stomach drops hearing your voice. It was one thing to see you but to hear your voice even if it be out of anger made Mikes head spin. He didn't want to sound like a complete creep stalking you out to your job for a closer look but you were exactly who he wanted.
"That's not why I'm here. Fuck- look... To be totally honest, I'm not a strip club type of dude. I just- I saw a video of you on instagram and I was- y'know... impressed by your talent and beauty." Typical response coming from a man trying to bring a stripper home for the night you think to yourself. "I'm not shocked by your reaction. You realize that's what I hear like- 10 times a night, right?" you say with a sarcastic tone. He seemed a bit more genuine with his words than the others but men will do and say anything when they're in need of a quick fuck. "Not that type of girl sir. Try one of those cheap hookers down the road" you point down the street and close the trunk.
"Please... I know how this sounds, believe me I know how dudes are but-" He sighs and continues, "But I don't have a lot of experience with girls so- I thought coming here... to meet someone new would help" he says looking very serious, almost to the point of desperation. If he weren't so damn handsome you'd turn him down in a heartbeat but something in you is screaming to give him a chance. He seems to be telling the truth and damn is he starting to fluster you with the whole innocent act. "Fine. I'll give you my number but don't you dare think about blowing my phone up." You scribble your phone number into his palm with a pen from your bag and blow him a kiss while getting in your car to drive away.
Mike smirks and waves at you, watching you drive off into the distance. "That was better than I expected...huh..." he whispers. He gets back into his car and texts you, already so eager to see you again. The message reads:
Hey it's Mike, the guy from earlier. You doing anything tonight? I could take us out to a bar or something? :)
His cheeks start to blush again from imagining you two hanging out. He desperately craves a deeper connection with you but doesn't want to come off as too interested off the bat, it could scare you off for all he knows! His phone dings and he reads it:
Shitttt I'm free as long as you're gonna be on your very best behavior!!
⊱✿⊰
It might take me a bit to get part two posted, but I'll try to give you guys as many updates as possible!!! Keep in mind I am a new writer. This is my third fic put out so far :))

Leaves
Another Incredibles au fic... sort of a little character study? I suppose it could be that. I just started writing the other day and this came out, so it’s not much, but I figured it would be a shame not to post it. Maybe someone will like it.
Set when Sky and Warriors are preteens, and Time is a fairly-young adult. Little warning for implied past character death.
————————————————————
Warriors walked slowly along the path he was following, his scarf trailing behind him as late afternoon light filtered past. It had been a bit of a detour to head here instead of straight home after school, and his legs were growing tired, but he’d been needing to come here for weeks, and finally had the time to today.
Warriors didn’t stop until the path curved, and he found himself at a tree with fan-shaped leaves that had begun to spread themselves across the ground.
There was a stone beneath it’s branches, and Warriors knelt beside it, gently brushing off the yellow leaves that had fallen on top. His hands brushed the letters carved into the stone, and he leaned back, smiling a little.
“Hey, Mom.”
A few moments of silence ticked by, and his smile faded, Warriors folding his hands in his lap as he exhaled.
“Um... I know I haven’t visited in a while, I’m sorry. Things have been kind of crazy lately. Time got in some trouble, and it was... a lot of stuff happened.”
He cleared his throat, and adjusted his scarf, shaking off the little flakes of ice that had begun to form on his fingers.
“We’re all doing okay now, though,” he continued, watching a leaf fall. “Time’s still kinda worried about me and Sky, even though we keep telling him we’re fine. He’s been sort of... clingy. But even though he’s been clingy, we finally convinced him to let us go out with him, so that’s been pretty great. We’ve already stopped some villains.
“Um... oh right, he hasn’t yet, but Time is totally going to propose soon. When he isn’t worrying over me and Sky, he’s acting almost giddy, it’s been so weird. He’s been so weird lately.”
Warriors huffed out a little laugh, then looked at the stone again, his smile slipping away.
“He really loves Malon. And I think you’d love her too Mom. I... wish you could meet her. We all do.”
He breathed out slowly, scratching his arm.
“I guess that’s pretty much it. I’m doing fine, in case you were wondering. Mostly just training with my powers. I figured out I can do really sharp icicle things if I focus really hard, so I’ve been trying to get better at that. I’ve also been working on making little stuff out of ice, but that’s not super useful...”
Warriors trailed off as a few leaves fluttered down around him, a weight much heavier than leaves weighing on his chest.
He closed his eyes.
“I miss you Mom. I... hope you’re proud of me. I’m trying.”
A leaf landed on Warriors’ head then, and he picked it up, running a thumb along it’s veins.
After a moment he raised his head, and let go of the leaf, conjuring some ice in his hands. He focused for several minutes, tongue slightly sticking out as he molded the ice in his hold, and slowly a flower appeared in his hands, made of pure ice. It was a little crude, and lacked the detail that Warriors would have preferred, but it would have to be good enough.
“I’ll come visit again soon,” he promised quietly, setting the flower at the base of the stone. “I have to go now though, or Time and Sky’ll worry. Even though I’ll be fine, and have powers to defend me, but you know. Time especially doesn’t need more stress.”
Warriors leaned back as a gust of wind blew some leaves past the stone in front of him, and he gently thumbed over the words again.
Then he breathed out, and got to his feet, noting that the late afternoon had trickled into evening while he’d been sitting. The leaves of the tree looked more orange now then yellow, and he tucked one in his pocket as it drifted by.
“I love you Mom. I’ll see you later.”
Warriors looked at the stone one more time, then gave a tiny smile, turning away and walking back down the path he’d come up.
A thin dusting of frost trailed behind him on the grass.

April 5th 2024, happy beloved 78th birthday to the one and only Jane! She’s been my inspiration for around 12 years since I first discovered about her. It’s been a wonderful journey getting to share new pictures I find, my scans, colourisations and accurate information in regards of the pictures I found. May I be able to meet her one day. 🤍
This post will be divided in two, as the picture shown was used for two different newspapers that I scanned therefore the subtle mark on the photos. And you might have seen the photos with my old username so I am sharing them with the new one!
Jane Asher and Gawn Grainger as Juliet Capulet and Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet” presentation while being on tour in the USA, 1967.
First picture is my edition and enhancement from historical picture auction scan, second one is my scan from the newspaper, and third one is the scan of the newspaper.
Jane Asher-More Than a Beatle's Bird
In cities all across the U.S. this spring Beatle fans are swarming to a touring production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet staged by the Bristol Old Vic Company. When Juliet appears on stage for the first time the reaction is almost always the same. Applause thunders through the theater. Flash bulbs pop—electrifying the scene like summer lightning. At the end of the play young girls scream the name of the actress who plays Juliet: "Jane Asher! Jane Asher!" This is the girl they have come to see. To a Beatle fan Jane Asher's romance is even more exciting than the story of Romeo and Juliet. Jane Asher, in case you haven't heard, is the girl friend of Paul McCartney-the last unmarried Beatle.
An Interview With Jane
To find out what kind of girl dates a Beatle and also has enough talent to
perform in one of England's most respected theatre groups, CURRENT EVENTS Editor Nancy Malone talked to Jane Asher in New York City. The 20-year-old actress seemed puzzled when asked why teen-age girls scream for her. "I don't really know," she said “and I don’t think they’re quite sure themselves. Once they’re with me, they seem a little lost and aren’t sure what to do or say”.
Miss Asher, in contrast to her fans, is not at all confused. She is looking the forward to a successful career in the theatre—on her own merit, not because of her friendship with a Beatle. The actress with the golden-red hair is well on her way to stardom. Her portrayal of Juliet with England’s Bristol Old Vic company has been highly praised. The company is nearing the end of 16-city american tour, which began in Boston last January. After appearances next month in Bloomington, Ind., Detroit, and Cleveland, the company will perform at expo 67 in Montreal. Then the actors and actresses will retur to England.
Does Jane Asher hope to do more Shakespeare? "Oh, yes." she said, “I'd like to do all the Shakespearean heroines-especially Lady Macbeth. But I'd also like to do modern comedy. I wouldn't like ever to stick to just one thing. For example, I don't want to do all movies or all stage. Though if I had to choose, I'd choose stage. I like having a live audience.
Movie Fame Unimportant
"I know you can become more famous by being in movies,", Jane said. "but I've had a taste of that kind of glamor, and I know I don't want it. I want to be a good actress." Jane, who has been acting since she was five years old, comes from a show business family. Her brother, Peter Asher, has toured the U.S. several times. He makes up one-half of the popular singing duo Peter and Gordon.
But Jane hesitates to encourage outer young people to become entertainers. "It's really not the glamorous life people imagine. It's hard work with rehearsals all day and shows every night. And when you come right down to it, acting is really only pretending you're something else on stage." Although Jane made several films during her childhood, she attended regular m schools—not acting schools for m professionals. "I'm glad I got a normal education," she said. "I think it gave me a more balanced view of life. In addition to several Shakespearean roles, Jane has played Alice in Alice in Wonderland, Wendy in Peter Pan, and Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion. Juliet, however, is the highlight of her career.
Jane and the Bard
She is particularly delighted that she is helping to acquaint American teenagers with Shakespeare. She commented on her own attitude as a 13-year-old: "I suppose I felt as all English schoolchildren do-that Shakespeare was pretty dull stuff with lots of language I didn't understand. I know I wasn't mad about it." Now, at 20, she believes that Shakespeare wrote "the greatest roles in the world." She added: "On this tour, I've gotten a lot of mail and it has meant a great deal to me. Some of the letters from kids say “We came to see you. We were so surprised. We really liked the play.” “That’s great. That’s a real accomplishment to me —as an actress”.

Note
I’m pretty sure there’s nepotism and other shit going on at New York City Ballet, and I’ve stopped following them:
-there’s children and grandchildren of former dancers who got into the company. Roman Mejia is Paul Mejia’s son, Shelby Mann is the granddaughter of Jacques d’Amboise and the daughter of Charlotte d’Amboise and Terrence Mann (Broadway legends!) it makes me suspicious. I mean, Nilas Martins was in the company too, so I’m not surprised nepotism is still going on with the younger dancers.
-apparently there was/is body shaming? even at SAB I’ve heard rumors of kids having eating disorders. Also not surprising considering that the people who worked with Balanchine wanted a look and it was Balanchine himself who started the “skinny ballerina” trend that quickly spread worldwide. Ashley Bouder spoke up about how the higher ups body shamed her on Instagram live like a year ago, and none/few of the company members commented for support. They just posted it on their story. In general, Balanchine companies/schools tend to have a lot of body shaming, especially with how they treated Kathryn Morgan at Miami CB. CPYB (Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet) has a bunch of horror stories on Instagram account called @/cpybstories if anyone wants to read.
-I don’t know if this is really BS, but they still cast roles based on height/size rather than talent. I was hoping for Tiler Peck to do Diamonds but she got Rubies. Same with Midsummer, she didn’t/doesn’t really get Titania because she’s on the shorter side and from what I’ve heard, NYCB likes their Titanias to be tall. (I’m guessing she probably will never get Titania, just because she lacks emotion in her dancing. Saw her in Sleeping Beauty and Nutcracker and she barely acts.)
-the company is still predominantly white. Even PNB is more diverse than them. The BIPOC dancers like Nadon, Mejia, Furlan, Chan etc are only popular just because they fit Eurocentric views of POC (they have lighter skin and straighter hair) plus Nadon is only half South Asian, Mejia is half Peruvian, so they aren’t full blooded POC. The only POC in recent years that didn’t fit those ideals was Amar Ramasar. The kids who appear on stage for Nutcracker, Midsummer, Sleeping Beauty etc are more diverse than the actual company members.
-They didn’t handle Alexandra Waterbury’s case well. Ramasar should’ve been fired and in prison before the pandemic and from the West Side Story revival (that didn’t do well regardless). It also makes me mad that Alexa Malone (soloist) is still dating him and the fact that he’s now a stager too…like he might mess around with the underaged apprentices/corps and the cycle will start again
-Don’t get me started on people like John Clifford and how he wrote public, sexist comments on how he hates crotch shots because of platter tutus. He and a bunch of other older trust people still defend these beliefs to the death.
Hello, there's a lot in here!
Regarding nepotism, the company definitely has a history of hiring both siblings and relatives. I would extend this to ballet in general, many successful dancers today are from dance families, such as Chloe Misseldine, Daniil Simkin, Maia Makhatelli, Vadim Muntigirov, Dmitri Smilevsky, Issac Hernandez etc. But I don't think that inherently means that the dancers benefiting from that knowledge base (knowing what to do, where to train, how to structure their day, exta tips and coaching etc) are undeserving of there spots. I don't think you can watch Meija dance and think he doesn't deserve to be where he is.
On body shaming. Yes, none of this is positive and none of it is news either. There has been a history of toxic body shaming culture at nearly every major ballet school worldwide. Balanchine companies have had a nasty history but so have numerous Russian, European, and Asian schools. It's not a problem exclusive to SAB/NYCB.
Yes, NYCB typecasts. I'm honestly quite a fan of it because I don't think it's realistic or responsible to expect every dancer to do everything well and it results in dancers on stage in roles that they're confident in and suit their strengths- which generally leads to better performances. I don't think there's a single dancer at City Ballet who has done all three leading roles in Jewels, Peck is not an exception. I don't believe it's height/size over talent, but a complementary mix of both. Some roles have been designated by the choreographer for X skills and others have been historically dominated by dancers with X skills. And like you mention, there are lots of other factors affecting casting besides just height, acting, vulnerability, partnership, and logistics, which all play a role.
I'm not sure I agree with you that the dancers you mentioned get attention because they are POC who fit Eurocentric standards. Chan and Nadon rightfully got attention for breaking barriers and becoming the first Asian principals at the company. Both have spoken at length aobut how their cultural background and upbringing has both helped and hindered their path. I'd argue Meija gets far more attention from his father than he does from his race and Furlan (if we're considering him popular which I probably wouldn't) for his technical merit. I also think you aren't looking at NYCB's soloist rank fairly, they have Black, Asian, and Hispanic dancers at this rank. Of course, the company certainly could be more diverse but they have the self-imposed limitation of hiring nearly exclusively out of SAB. You yourself noted that the school is more diverse, this is a result of several of their scholarship and outreach programs that have been implemented in the past decade or so. Those programs are long-term investments, they are building a more diverse company now - but these dancers are still in the school. And for what it's worth, PNB is not a low bar, it is by far the most diverse major company in the US and has made hiring decisions accordingly. Approximately 50% of the company is POC which is awesome- but this realistically isn't possible at NYCB because they're not going to be hiring from outside as frequently.
Of course, if not following NYCB would make you happier, then by all means do it. But if these issues are what's causing you distress, I don't think the solution is to simply follow other companies- many of these problems exist across the industy.
Regarding the Waterbury Case, I don't disagree with you but the law is complicated. I remeber reading the case when it came out and I think the main problem is that the case wasn't able to get to discovery because she didn't have enough facutal evidence. If that had happened, I imagine things would have looked a lot different. While I absolutley believe her, she was trying to fight too many battles at once, some of which weren't directly hers, and she didn't have hard concrete proof for most of it. Everything got muddled and I don't think she had the best council either. I don't have any doubt that there's so much more here that exists only in the memories of the individuals involved. But that doesn't count in front of a court - it's about what you can prove not what happened. And NYCB's liability is limited because she was neither an employee nor a student at the time of firing.
However, while I have no comment about his personal life, I agree with you about Ramasar's line of work. It's unfortunate and incredibly disappointing how the dance world regularly absolves men like Ramasar (he's not alone) and basically gifts them back their careers. I could list a whole troupe of men who've been given second chances they don't deserve. Winning in court is an uphill battle, especially when the prosecution is often not coming from a place of strength. I just hope that the slow but steady changes happening in the industry now will prevent history from repeating itself.
And Clifford....I don't have the energy to start with. There's a reason NYCB hasn't hired him back , he's not consistently teaching or running a company, and he's just running his mouth on IG.

Do It Like That, the Summer Smash TOMORROW X TOGETHER Brought
Tumblr media
Meaning Behind the Collaboration of TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Jonas Brothers
2023.07.08
In early June a soundless video snippet was released in which we see Ryan Tedder and TOMORROW X TOGETHER in a studio listening to what we can guess is a new track. Ryan Tedder is known as OneRepublic’s lead singer, but he is equally famous in the industry – perhaps even more so – as a producer and songwriter.
He contributed to Beyoncé’s “Halo” and Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love,” and he already has under his belt three Grammy Awards for Album of the Year for his work on “21” and “25” from Adele, and Taylor Swift’s “1989”. A few days ahead of that clip being posted, Tedder had teased on his Twitter account with a selfie at TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s US concert with the jesting text “Joining @TXT_members ??” One could sense from the tweet that his familiarity with the group was too great for this to be a simple shout-out. Indeed, that video clip itself had been captioned with “A big one is coming”, and we most certainly got that.
By mid June, TOMORROW X TOGETHER posted a group photo by a pool with the caption reading, “We go Together”. It’s clearly designed to remind us of the cover art of the album “Happiness Begins” released by Jonas Brothers in 2019, as was the text which happens to be the opening line to their hit song, “Sucker”. And what do you know, it also happens to have been written by Ryan Tedder. Finally, on June 22, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Jonas Brothers officially announced their collaboration project “Do It Like That” which will be released on July 7.
Jonas Brothers is one of the most successful boy bands of the past two decades. It is not an overstatement to declare this quite a singular feat, especially for an American boy band. Their longevity and continued new music releases to this day since 2005 – despite disbanding and reuniting in between– is another uncommon feat. From 2007 to 2009, the band appeared mainly on the Disney Channel and solidified their position as the unquestionable heartthrob for teens and enjoyed some of their most glittering years during this time. The members went on to pursue solo careers for about a decade after which the brothers at last found their collective adult identity as a pop rock band. Their being family might be brought up to downplay their success as a group, but maintaining the band as teenage idol musicians and consistently evolving over time is no small feat.
One of the biggest contributing factors of this successful artistic reinvention is “Sucker”. Not only did it make its debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, but it remains their sole single to have reached that pinnacle to this day. What’s even more remarkable is it held its position in the top 10 until August, earning itself the accolade of being one of the “Songs of The Summer” in 2019, alongside Post Malone’s “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse).” While the title “Songs of the Summer” may not be an official concept, it holds significant weight in the industry. With summer traditionally being the season with much family time – especially outdoor activities – it’s the perfect season for music to become embedded in our collective memories and transcend time and space. Summer anthems become global megahits dominating airwaves everywhere and very likely go on to become still-beloved golden classics. We all know how “Livin’ La Vida Loca” returns every summer.
In fact, Billboard has been running a “Songs Of The Summer” chart since 2010. In the most recent years, “Sucker” still reigned as one of the most successful summer songs. Along with the likes of “Peaches”, “Levitating”, and “As It Was”, for the foreseeable future we are going to hear “Sucker” during the heatwave months on beaches, by pools, and in shopping malls and cafés.

The meeting of TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Jonas Brothers for “Do It Like That” takes place like some learning-by-osmosis for a still fresh boy band that only debuted in 2019. “Do It Like That” has all the makings of a summer hit such as its danceable rhythm that’s bouncy yet chill, a hook that sinks in quick to reel you in fast, and chill and relatable lyrics. TOMORROW X TOGETHER is certainly one of the more successful K-Pop acts performing today, but adding to their loyal teen audience, acquiring universal appeal, and getting significant radio play are not easy tasks for any artist. “Do It Like That” presents an opportunity to clear all these challenges in one go. It’s especially apropos for TOMORROW X TOGETHER this summer as they gear up to make their summer festival rounds where a song like this really adds to their arsenal as a number that can get people vibing immediately regardless of whose fans happen to be in the crowd.
As for the Jonas Brothers themselves, they have a massive 37-date North American tour planned. “Do It Like That” can be a nice follow-up to “Sucker” as it brings fresh blood to the group’s summer song catalog, especially since the song will bring in the broader K-Pop listenership. That is why the recent social media activity from the Jonas Brothers such as their “Excuse me BRUHH” TikTok with TOMORROW X TOGETHER that reenacts that meme-able moment from the film “Zoolander” and the adoption of a K-Pop industry move of releasing “concept photo” as part of their promotional material, all appear to be much more than just spur-of-the moment online humor. In short, “Do It Like That” is a definitive snapshot of how K-Pop’s most recent forays into the US market have evolved. It has a better understanding of what comprises the market's essence. With this insight, their moves are much more calibrated, thereby yielding opportunities for a mutually beneficial collaboration within the ecosystem. It’s a deft mix of the team’s musical color and K-Pop’s commercial cachet. This masterful positioning was also on display in last summer’s collaboration with iann dior who provided a direct line to the musical sensibilities of Gen Z, and now this summer TOMORROW X TOGETHER is aiming for the charts with Jonas Brothers. You don’t get to see a band like this every day.

Late Music Monday + 2 Quizzes In 1 + Hozier Song quiz
Tagged by @inafieldofdaisies @onehornedbeast @josephseedismyfather @adelaidedrubman and @voidika
Tagging @socially-awkward-skeleton @strangefable @strafethesesinners @shallow-gravy @direwombat @jillvalentinesday @cassietrn @chazz-anova @minilev @deputy-morgan-malone @wrathfulrook @josephslittledeputy and @g0dspeeed
So I went through my activity history and found I had been tagged by @onehornedbeast for two quizzes which were for OC's heart and OC's path. Not to forget the Hozier song quiz.
The rules for the Music Monday below are: Post a song that is relevant to your WIP or inspires it. Can include lyrics.
Specifically this is for my currently unnamed Far Cry 5 WIP (though the titled might just get named after one of the lyrics of the song) which has some inspiration from Bioshock Infinite. Some context I will give is that it involves Silva and Paul, alternate realities, both Priestess Lillith and the Tarot Card Holder being vague shits, and the Seeds having to deal with a depressed father-daughter duo who know how to use a knife and gun. Also Ernesto "if you can't dropkick Mohammad off the mountain then might as well bring the mountain down on top of Mohammad" Stallone is stirring things up.
youtube
"I was scared of dentists and the dark I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations Oh, all my friends are turning green You're the magician's assistant in their dreams
Ah ooh-ooh-ooh, ah ooh-oh-ooh And they come unstuck
Lady, running down to the riptide Taken away to the dark side I wanna be your left hand man I love you when you're singing that song And I got a lump in my throat 'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong."
Now for OC quiz results!
First the 'What does your OC's heart look like?' quiz for Leslie Who (from The UnTitledverse).
Tumblr media
And here's the "What does your path lead to?" quiz for Denise Redwood (who's making appearances in Life, Despair & Monsters, Far Cry The Silver Chronicles, then finally The UnTitledverse).
Tumblr media
And finally the 'Which Hozier song is your OC?' for Jezebel Ba'al (from Wings And Horns).

my friends who don't know shit about taylor swift requested a pre-album explainer of wtf is going on so i wrote them a little newsletter... if you want something to send to your non-swiftie friends it's beneath the cut
Good morning team,
Why do we need a Swiftie newsletter?
I mean, no one really needs this. But she’s dropping a new album (“The Tortured Poets Department” or TTPD for short) in three days and I’m here to provide you with the information you need before the album comes out. I’ll be back with a post-album review letting you know 1) what juicy gossip was revealed on the album, 2) what tracks you should listen to, and 3) a few things you can say to your Swiftie friends to sound cultured.
What’s this album about?
Okay, I know this is ancient history, but cast your mind back to 2016. Kanye and Taylor Swift are beefing, and Kim Kardashian posts a clip of a phone call that makes Taylor look like a liar. Taylor gets canceled on social media and disappears for a year.
While all this is going on, she meets her boyfriend, the British actor Joe Alwyn. I have no clue what movies he was in at the time, but since then he was in The Favorite and Harriet, and also Conversations with Friends (I think, I haven’t seen it because Normal People put me off Sally Rooney). Here’s a quick timeline:
Late 2017: Taylor comes back with “Look What You Made Me Do” and reputation. People think reputation is a bad bitch album, but it’s actually an album about finding love in a time of despair.
2019: She drops Lover, which is about many things but primarily about how she loves him and wants to spend the rest of her life with him.
2020: Pandemic. Taylor writes two quarantine albums, folklore and evermore. These are primarily fictional, but there are a few love songs about him. He co-writes some of these songs pseudonymously.
2022: Midnights. This album becomes wildly successful. It occupies all of the top ten slots on the billboard hot 100 in the week it comes out. It breaks a bunch of sales records.
2023: The Eras Tour starts! Two weeks in, they announce the break up. Taylor briefly dates Matty Healy of the 1975, who is by all accounts a total asshole. This appears to have been a shitty rebound. A bit later, she starts dating the football player Travis Kelce and everyone loses their minds about it.
It looks like this album is going to be about the end of a relationship of six years and possibly rebounding/moving on.
Okay, but like… why did they break up?
I mean, I don’t know any of these people, so all I can offer you are guesses based on song lyrics:
1 - He was really big into his privacy, which is kind of difficult if you’re dating Taylor Swift.
2 - A lot of songs on Lover are about wanting to get married. There’s a song on Midnights that implies that she wanted to get married and he refused. Yikes.
What’s the promo situation for this album?
The most notable thing to me (and what is this if not me rambling about my opinions) are some playlists curated by Taylor on Apple Music. Each playlist focuses on one of the five stages of grief in mourning a relationship, and they contain songs from her past albums. There are copycat playlists on Spotify, if you’re interested. My favorite is “am I allowed to cry?” which is the playlist for the bargaining stage.
There’s also a wall in Chicago with a QR code that leads to a video of the words “Error 321 13” and a hidden message in her song lyrics that spells out “Hereby Conduct This,” which is presumably a message that will be finished by the time the album comes out.
What do we already know about the album?
16 tracks with 4 bonus tracks. There’s a song with Post Malone (yes, really) and a song with Florence + The Machine. I agree, this is not an intuitive combination, but I’m excited.
Two of the songs are over five minutes long. Two songs are entirely self-written, five are written with Aaron Dessner (from the National), and eight are written with Jack Antonoff (the producer who works with all the pop girlies). Her collaborations with Aaron Dessner are some of my favorite songs of hers, so this is good news to me.
That’s my preamble to the Tortured Poets Department!
I hope this was informative, but I barely scratched the surface. You have no idea how deep this goes. Also, I need you all to know that I sat down and wrote this in one sitting without Googling anything, which probably means I know too much about this subject.
In the meantime, I’ve been listening to “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter which is a very stupid song that is fun to listen to. I’ve also been listening to girl in red’s new album, I’m Doing It Again Baby! which is aggressively mid. If you want to listen to a song on it, I recommend “Pick Me.”
See you in three days!

Jennifer Lopez Makes A Career Defining Body Of Work With 'This Is Me..Now':
Jennifer Lopez made the album announcement in 2022 and waited till now to release it. She really waited for the right moment and perfected its release. The album was worth the wait and for her to herself invest in the visual film that accompanies it, highlights her dedication to her art. Which in itself is inspiring. A lot of people seem to underestimate Jennifer Lopez and attack her with the usual, 'She's not talented', 'She should quit making music' and all the rest. It has become rather exhausting at this point, and on most it seems so unwarranted. People have formed such a strong dislike for her that they fail to see her differently to what they have formulated in their own minds.
After hearing the album and watching the film, it is hard to say that you are not impressed. She really put her all into this and focused on curating a body of work that takes you on a journey through her life. It is such a personal journey, however you'll find yourself resonating with moments. She seems to be going in circles, that is until she final acknowledges the actually problem. Once she addresses it things change and she breaks out of the cycle. She is then reunited with who she was meant to be with at the end, getting the happily ever after she always wanted.
It represents her journey through life and how that brought her to this point in her life. A lot of people assumed it would be all about Ben Affleck, though he is a key part, he isn't the focal part. The order in which the tracks appear in the visual is different to how they are placed on the album. That was something surprising, however it worked out really well. Jennifer Lopez is talented and there is no doubt behind that. She has constantly pushed herself and worked so hard to stay working. She's fought for her voice to be heard and she's not giving up, no matter what the haters have to say.
She isn't a vocalist, however she can sing. People have really run with constantly bringing up Ashanti and saying that she needs to give her credit for the vocals. When they've not actually understood how that worked. The vocals on some of her early tracks that were used and were Ashanti's were background vocals. Though that is a common occurrence in music where they've had another artist record the background vocals or used vocals from a demo of the song on the final track.
She actually is a solid music artist and has hits that you will always go back to. That have found such a prominent part in music history. 'This Is Me...Now' however is easily her best body of work to date. For her to be able to deliver in such a way at this point in her career is a major feat and one that deserves to garner her more recognition. It goes to show that you can curate a record and have it be concept driven, if you put your mind to it. She formed the right team of collaborates and sat down with an idea, she was determined to make it function in the way she imagined and she did just that. This is a career defining moment for her and it may end up being one of this years standout releases in music.
She really invested in the visuals and it shows in the end product. At first there were investors, however for some reason they dropped out. So she then decided to take the project on herself. That in itself showcases her belief in herself and that is something we don't often see. The film is truly a beautiful visual representation of the story she is telling. It is of a high quality and she really went all in. It features appearances from the likes of Ben Affleck, Keke Palmer, Jane Fonda, Post Malone, Sofia Vergara and Kim Petras to name a few. It is so well choreographed and to see her give her all to the dance sequences with so much conviction is powerful. There was a particular dance sequence during the moment where the title track is featured that gives you Michael Jackson vibes.
Regardless of whether you are a fan or not, you have to go check the film out. You are surely going to be impressed, especially if you put the hate aside. 'This Is Me..Now' proves that Jennifer Lopez deserves to be where she is today.

BILLY JOEL - "TURN THE LIGHTS BACK ON"
youtube
The theme narrows a little, maybe...
[4.15]
Hannah Jocelyn: The first Melodyne’d word of this song -- P L E A S E -- had me worried. This is the latest in a series of '70s and '80s rockers coming back one last time, normally with Post Malone's producer Andrew Watt at the helm. The results can either be pleasant, like the Rolling Stones' Lady Gaga collaboration "Sweet Sounds of Heaven", or abysmal, like Elton John's horribly edited "Always Love You." But Watt's not here; behind the boards instead is industry songwriter Freddy Wexler, a Billy Joel fanboy who convinced the artist to release music again. If the song sounds a lot like "Piano Man" and "Summer, Highland Falls," repeated listens reveal it's not just a cheap nostalgia grab. It sounds exactly like a new Billy Joel song should in 2024, P L E A S E aside, with a tasteful build and some grandiose but lovely lyrics: “Pride sticks out its tongue/laughs at the portrait that we’ve become/Stuck in a frame, unable to change.” Joel occupies a weird place in pop culture -- not as acclaimed as Dylan or Springsteen, but more thoughtful and introspective than the Eagles or anyone else in his imagined supergroup. With "Turn the Lights Back On," it all makes sense. He invented an archetype now filled by musicians like Adele post-21 or even Hozier: pop songwriters with enough depth to earn them a devout following even if they’re not critics' favorites. The liner notes reveal more connections. Eclectic producer Emile Haynie drops in to provide some additional production, the same way he did on "Hello" almost a decade ago, and the song is mixed by Adele's engineer Tom Elmhirst. It's an effective repositioning of Joel not as a "33-hit-wonder", not as a poet, but as one of the great pop balladeers and craftsmen. And my dad loves it, which is all that really matters. [7]
Alfred Soto: Despite the co-writers and a video whose nostalgia bid is as, ah, shameless as Paul McCartney's last year, "Turn the Lights Back On" sounds like any generic thing that might've appeared on Storm Front or The Bridge. Which is the point. [4]
Aaron Bergstrom: A direct descendant of Elton John's far superior "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore," as underlined by their similar music video treatments. While Joel was able to use cutting-edge AI technology to de-age himself in his video, Sir Elton had to make do with the tools available to him back in 2001, which is to say, Justin Timberlake. (Both AI and Timberlake are now trying to make their own music, with limited success.) [5]
Ian Mathers: Get the fuck outta here with this uncanny valley "AI" CGI shit. I'm not shocked boomers would cling to yet another way to deny they're old as fuck now -- it'll happen to all of us, I'm sure -- but it's still repugnant. Despite Joel being away for years, god knows you still hear the hits, so I'm kind of shocked that his voice seems to have lost most of its distinctive timbre. If you'd played me this blind I don't think I could have told you the singer, although the voice would have felt weirdly familiar. And look, respect to the man's undeniable achievements in his craft (which even haters should admit he takes pretty damn seriously) and especially stardom/mass popularity, but partly given the characterlessness to his performance here, my answer to "did I wait too long, to turn the lights back on?" is... yeah, you kinda did. I don't think the reason I loved the ABBA comeback singles and not this is just because I like ABBA and don't care for Billy Joel; I genuinely think they did a better job on playing off their context than he does here. [5]
TA Inskeep: I'd like to keep them off, please.  [1]
Isabel Cole: Billy Joel was one of the few artists my whole family could agree on during long trips in the car; my first concert was his dual tour with Elton John at Madison Square Garden. So on the one hand, the sheer nostalgic sentiment aroused in me by the thought of Billy going back to songwriting after all these years is real, and powerful. On the other, I know whereof I speak when I say that even assessed by the generous lens of someone who was once a 13-year-old girl glad to name Songs in the Attic as her favorite album, this is mid-level Billy at best. Lyrically, so much of his appeal has always been his willingness to indulge—in shamelessness, in sentiment, in spite, in just being kind of an asshole—but this song is too busy wrestling ponderously with its own existence to have that kind of fun; musically, it’s just “I’ve Loved These Days” but not as good. [4]
Rachel Saywitz: It's good, for a budget store "Piano Man."  [5]
Dave Moore: The best thing I can say for this lugubrious comeback ballad, loosely patterned on vintage Billy Joel and a dollop of "Hey Jude," is that it technically clocks in at under four minutes. The worst thing I can say about it is that I am not yet convinced the vocals aren't BillyJoelAI, though it does sound like him really playing the piano (derogatory). [3]
Daniel Montesinos-Donaghy: God, what a trudge — the type of pianoman mewls I thought every Joel song would be as an uneducated youth. But then I heard "Movin' Out," and what a fuckin' joint! (Fun fact: I think a quick browse of Billy Joel's biggest hits has taught me "Movin' Out" is, uh, the only BJ jam I like. Sorry.) [3]
Katherine St. Asaph: I dislike the term "overproduced" in criticism; it's often a way to sneer at pop without having to say something so gauche. But when you have a swelling string section -- a mercilessly effective cheat code to make a listener moved -- and yet that listener cannot be moved because she can't fucking hear it over everything else in the arrangement, your song is overproduced. When you autotune everything about your singer's voice except the notes that he actually flubbed, your song is -- well, not overproduced exactly, but produced poorly. Can't imagine how I'd feel if I were even a Billy Joel fan! One singular point because I learned something: it's not just the de-aging "AI" (scare quotes), Billy Joel really did look kinda like Harry Styles back then. (Harry Styles would probably love to remake this. It would still be a [1]). [1]
Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: This absolutely shouldn't work on me. I, of sound mind and body and possessing no strong relationship with the music of Billy Joel, ought not to have any reaction to this at all. It's a Billy Joel song that is once again about the romance between the performer and the audience, hitting all the marks he last hit 30 years ago. If nearly everything else he's done leaves me inert, then this should do the same. Yet something about its twilight glory, the way Joel puts himself through his own paces, moves me nonetheless.  [6]
Brad Shoup: I know I'm not the first person to interpret this as a metaphor for Joel's relationship with the public. For me, he's always been a sort of pop midpoint, and I've never been able to budge him. Everything he's ever done has been... fine: the bangers always fuck up somewhere, the groaners are never that embarrassing. So leaving things off with "The River of Dreams" (my favorite) wouldn't have been a bad way to go. This is confident schlock. The snare smacks like a worn copy of "Bridge Over Troubled Water"; he does a little "Piano Man" twirl before the orchestra goes for broke. I don't think he waited too long; I think this song was within him the whole time, for better or worse. [5]
Nortey Dowuona: I understand the hatred. For us, being smooth and easy on the ears is a crime. To refuse the challenges that push the artform of popular music and music culture, or worse, to fight them tooth and nail, is enough to make you an enemy in our eyes. But I do understand the actual reason to simply play to the middle of the road: to connect with everyone since you have learned, possibly later or earlier, we are a rare and bold breed, despite the infighting, backbiting and slimy behavior I will not detail here. Billy Joel has waited long enough -- he at the height of his popularity was despised and condemned, a figurehead for the stultifying demands of white yuppiedom. Unfortunately he was wrong; the fire was started, and will never stop. We, as a far more revered and loved writer said, made our choice as a species, and it's just a question of how long it takes to play out. Billy once wrote of New York being destroyed and its citizens fleeing like rats to Miami, reminiscing over their glory days. But now in 2024, New York refuses to go away. Our mayor, as Wiki and MIKE said, is a cop, and millions are homeless and starving, struggling to keep afloat and trying not to crumble every time a blank, greasy-faced kid with worn-out clothes playing with a iPhone 14 who could afford to give you $5 shakes his head to ignore you. I understand the hatred. But I can't feel it because the hatred feels pointless, empty, a target for those old timers who have fled the sinking ship and their ancestors who only know to despise the old place from stories and memories. He might've waited too long to turn the lights back once since the wires have rotted and the bulbs are broken, but not because the city is empty. It's full of your fanboys and their grandchildren, who now feel the sour bitterness that drove you to flee and cannot choose any other feeling. It's not too late -- it's never too late. [5]

An Aftermath, in 3 POVs
The following three scenes are taken from my work of original Science Fiction, Mind Killer. You can find out more about the book and entire series (including where to purchase, HERE).
Rover Bay, Underground Command Post, Manhattan -- 11 November 2118, 0700 Hours
The Rover's doors were barely open before Matt caught sight of her standing on the concrete bay floor, trying -- and failing -- to look calm.
Aw, fuck.
He shoulda known she'd be all up in his grill before he even got a chance to take a piss or shower. Pasting a wicked grin on his face he was far from feeling, Matt caught the edge of the door frame and tried to head off Hurricane Jen at the pass as he called out, "Hey, Catwoman! Miss me?"
Fucking baitin' her right now was a fucking dumb idea, and he realized it half a second too late. The second his feet hit the concrete, she was across the space between them, her small, capable hands fisted in the fabric of his shirt as she snapped, "Don't you ever goddamn do that to me again, Matthew James Clipper, or I swear to Almighty God..."
"Hey," he murmured, covering her hand as much in comfort as to hide its shaking from the rest of the team as he dropped his bullshit just for her. "I'm okay, baby." Then, louder and for everyone else's benefit, "Jesus, Catwoman. Don't go all psycho on me."
Her gaze narrowed on him. "Shut up and get your ass to the infirmary for a med check." Her gaze flickered past him for a moment. "You, too, Frank."
"Later." Frank's muttered word, on his way past, was so flat Jen nearly took a step to stop him.
Matt gave her hand a warning squeeze, drawing her attention, before he murmured, "Let him go, Jen. His head's all fucked up, right now. He needs time."
Her gaze shot back to his, and the worry he read there cut like a knife across his soul. "What about you?"
He forced a shrug and a crooked grin as he gently peeled her hands free from his shirt front. "Me? I'm fine, Catwoman. You know me. I'm fucking indestructible."
Her gaze narrowed on him, before she stepped backward. "I'll be the judge of that. Straight to the infirmary."
With a quirk of his lips to cover his twisting emotions, he sketched her a playful salute. If letting her check him over killed the fear in her eyes, he'd suffer through it. Though honest-to-fuck, right now he didn't want her poking and prodding at him. He just wanted to cuddle the shit outta her and be grateful he'd survived to see her again. Except...
Matt frowned as he followed Jen through the connecting door between the Rover Bay and infirmary. Their relationship hadn't left room for intimacies like hugs and cuddling since South Africa. The only way they came together was either as comrades, combatants, or fast fucks that were both momentarily satisfying, and ultimately empty.
He hated it, but he couldn't fucking change it. Not as long as he was going to be hitting the goddamn streets again -- and the streets were his job. They were the only thing he knew how to do right. Right now, though, they cost him a lot more than they were worth. And that was just too fucking bad for him.

Residence of Calli Malone, East 83rd Street, Manhattan -- 11 November 2118, 0835 AM
Honey, I’m home.
His usual teasing quip died, unspoken, as the door slid shut behind him and his go bag slid to make a heavy thump on the floor at his feet. He hadn't even stopped to drop it off in his quarters before leaving the Underground. He'd been on autopilot since they left Rio, and the only thing on his mind was here.
Her.
"Frank? Honey, is that you?" Her sweet voice carried through the apartment, preceding her appearance as she floated toward the front door.
That's what Calli did. She floated, like an angel. Years of walking runways gave her a soft step, and her pure heart gave her that beautiful smile on her lips and twinkling in her dark, mocha eyes. The smile he thought, in the instant between explosion and impact, he'd never see again.
Suddenly, it was all too much. His head dropped forward, chin to chest, and the tremors of fear, rage, and sorrow took him down, an anguished sound ripping from his chest as he sank to his knees.
"Frank!" Calli's frightened cry was followed by the race of feet on the hardwood floor, then her soft hands on his head, his face. "Oh my god. Frank. Talk to me, honey."
Only, he couldn't. He couldn't show her the horror in his head. The fresh scars on his body would frighten her enough. All he could do was cling to her -- to the precious peace she offered -- his arms banding around her, his large, battle-roughened fingers grasping fistfuls of her silk blouse as he buried his head against her shoulder and neck and released his pain in huge, body-wracking sobs.
****
Blake-Leads Apartment, West 135th Street, Harlem -- 12 November 2118, 0230 Hours
"Kelly?" The sleep-softened voice reached her as she tipped the beer bottle to her lips and took a drink, then sat it back on the fire escape step beside her.
Moments later, light footfalls clanged across the metal platform and soft, pale hands slid over her shoulders, becoming arms that wrapped gently around her neck as Carrissa's soft voice teased against her ear, "You're cold, baby. Come on inside."
Kelly turned to smile at the beautiful woman who made her heart sing, but the smile slipped as shadows crossed her memory.
"My beautiful C'rissa," she whispered, reaching out one hand, almost engulfed in darkness until it touched a satiny cheek growing pink with the cold before sliding through sandy-blonde hair so soft it was like touching a cloud. "I love you so much."
A smile tipped up Carrissa's lips as she picked up the abandoned beer bottle and took a sip of her own. "How many of these have you had?"
Kelly shrugged, ambling to her feet as she looped around the rail of the fire escape, backing Carrissa into the side of the metal steps. Sometimes, she let herself forget how lucky she was this woman agreed to be her wife. That Carrissa had agreed to be hers at all, even knowing she was staring down a bullet that would end her one day.
"Enough to be glad you're mine, love," she whispered as she pressed soft kisses to Carrissa's throat. "But not enough to forget what I saw."
Wrapping an arm around her wife, she drew them both back in through the window to the warm kitchen. Sorrow tugged at her as Hell rose before her mind's eye again. A Hell she felt guilty bringing home to her C'rissa.
Carrissa was studying her with hurt eyes, full of tears, when Kelly surfaced from her thoughts.
"Ah, sweetheart, I'm okay," she murmured, locking her arms around her wife's waist.
"I know you can't talk about what you do." Carrissa's voice was soft between them. "But I don't like that it hurts you. Maybe you should quit now."
A heavy sigh pulsed from Kelly as she rested her forehead against Carrissa's. "You know I can't, love. My dragon's still out there."
A tear rolled free of Carrissa's eye, tracing her cheek as she muttered, "You're going to let that damn superstition kill you, Kel."
Kelly's hollow chuckle hung in the room, unchallenged, before she whispered, "Ah, love, we both know I'm a dead woman anyway."
Before Carrissa could argue the finer points of medicine, Kelly forestalled her argument with a consuming kiss, backing Carrissa toward the bedroom. If she was to sleep with ghosts, tonight, at least she wouldn't be alone.

The Break Up
Boba x fem!reader, angst, smut, feels, (happy ending)
Almost lost myself
Couldn’t stop myself
I did it all
You can blame it on me
- Blame it on Me, Post Malone
Translations (Mando’a)
Mesh’la - beautiful
Cyar’ika- sweetheart
Cyare - beloved
***
You looked out over the desert. Tears slid down your face in rivulets. The suns were setting. It was getting colder. But there was no one there to keep you warm. You wrapped your arms around yourself and thought of Bo’s words.
“You think he cares about you? He’s just throwing you in my face while we fight.” You had bristled, about to respond. But she had continued. “You think it’s been only you for the past couple of months? Just last week we fucked. He came so hard, I wonder if you’re even taking care of him.” She laughed at your shocked expression, “Ask him.”
Blindsided and stung by her revelations, you had stupidly turned from her and walked around a corner. You kept going, not noticing where you were heading. Tears formed behind your eyes. You reached the end of a hangar and slipped inside a transport ship. It was quiet, the air stale and full of dust you’d disturbed. Finally you let yourself sob as you collapsed into a chair. Was it really true? Your body buzzed with emotion.
Your memory turned to when he had first noticed you. An entertainer on the pleasure level, you were one of many beautiful creatures at his disposal. As far as you knew, he didn’t sleep with the entertainment. You figured he preferred his type - merc or fighter, not someone softer like you. You had twirled around his table lithely, thinking nothing of it. But after your shift a droid had appeared before you, “You are invited to His Excellency Fett’s afterparty on the barge.” You had tried to decline, but it turned out it was less of an invitation than originally presented.
Dancing on the barge the night air, you had gotten cold and tried to discreetly climb down to where a fire was burning. Just as soon as you had reached it, you had felt someone approach from behind. Spinning around, you let out a surprised yelp in Fett’s face. He was un-armored now, and his dark eyes shown amusement. Never having been this close to him while he was dressed down as it were, you were curious.
“Hi,” you said softly, the fire crackling behind you.
“Good evening, mesh’la,” he said smoothly, unconcerned. He looked you up and down.
“Mm, what can I do for you, sir?” You asked shyly.
He grimaced, “Don’t call me sir, for one. Makes me feel older than I already am.” He ran an index finger down your upper arm to your wrist, then let his hand fall away. He tilted his head slightly, seeming to be debating something. Finally he said, “Do you want to go for a walk? I’m tired of this party.”
You nodded and took his offered arm. He slowly escorted you off the barge and down onto a deck. The two of you continued to a path that led around the old Hutt palace. Boba had made polite small talk, asking your name and making you flush with subtle compliments. Then he had tested the waters. In a darkened area, he had pulled you off the path and pressed you against a wall. His hands had slid up your top slowly until they cupped your breasts. He leaned in and kissed you while his hands traveled back down your body to the waistband of your skirt.
Wrapping your arms around him, you had felt him pull your skirt and panties off. You moaned softly then, excited and curious to know what he’d be like. His lips found yours and drew you into a slow kiss. His hands grabbed your asscheeks and lifted you up. Spreading your legs around him, you moaned softly as he unhurriedly undid his clothing. The anticipation made your pussy ache. Finally his cock came into contact with your wet entrance. He slid back and forth in your folds, making you beg him to penetrate you.
Grinning slightly, he had thrust up into you slowly, dragging it out. When he finally bottomed out in you, you felt stretched to the max. The delicious burn of his cock stretching you out made your pussy gush. He had rumbled low in his chest before starting to fuck you sharply. You had held on to him as he took what he wanted, fucking your pussy mercilessly. You had cum, the ferocity of his fucking bringing you quickly over the edge. Praising you, he had brought you to a second orgasm before grunting into your ear as he pulled out, cock spurting cum on your inner thigh.
You two had walked back to the party arm in arm, you giddy and smiling openly.
***
You slunk out of the transport ship. Fully back in the present, you went to Boba’s rooms. You had started to think of them as your and Boba’s rooms. How foolish you had been. You bit your lip until it bled to keep from crying anymore. When you reached the bedroom, you were surprised to see Boba already there. He appeared to be waiting for you. You exhaled softly. Somehow, he knew already. You swallowed hard and tried to face him bravely.
“I know… you and Bo talked earlier.”
You burst into tears. You turned from him, trying to hid your face. He took several steps towards you, then stopped. You hugged yourself, still facing away from him. You pursed your lips, refusing to utter a sound.
After a strained moment, he continued, more softly, “I’m… sorry she confronted you like that.”
You shook your head, thinking only of your heartbreak. Your chest hurt. It felt like it was collapsing in on itself. You breathed a sob.
“Can we… talk?” His voice was soft, almost pleading. But you still obeyed as if it were a command. You nodded your head, then hung it sadly.
“We did… have sex last week.”
You tried to not have a reaction to his words, but your knees grew weaker.
“I don’t know why. It was random.”
You felt like you couldn’t breath. Your head swam confusingly with good memories. Tears covered your face and hit your collarbones and chest. You just wanted him to hold you.
“It’s… it’s okay,” you whispered. “Who am I, anyway? I’m a nobody.”
There was silence behind you.
“I — I’m just a distraction. I know.” Your voice wavered and became so weak you weren’t sure he would be able to hear you.
It all made sense, why you’d sat in his lap on the throne. Why he’d allowed you to touch him so freely in public. It was to needle Bo. You felt a fool. Your knees gave out and you sank to the ground. You put your hands in your lap and stared at the tears that fell on them.
“I never meant to hurt you. You have been so good to me. Better than I deserve… as you know.” His voice was carefully modulated.
You shivered. Suddenly being under his gaze was too much. Humiliation filled your heart. “I, I know I have some things here… sorry… I’ll remove them tomorrow.” You wrung your hands, then put them on the floor and pushed off. You shakily stood, carefully facing away from him. He didn’t speak. You kept your shoulders curved and your head down and slunk off. You couldn’t be so near him, knowing you meant nothing and he had come to mean so much to you. You had started to fantasize about a future with him.
Crying softly, you made your way back to your old quarters. They were untouched, just as you had left them. It didn’t comfort you. You curled up on top of your sheets, not bothering to tuck yourself in. Laying there, you cried yourself to sleep.
***
You tried to not think about how any other morning, Boba’s arm would’ve been wrapped around you. You laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. You felt your face. It was puffy and you felt congested. Not only did you feel like shit, you probably looked like shit too. After washing up and dressing, you looked in the mirror. You looked defeated. You couldn’t help it.
Walking to Boba’s rooms, you could barely breath. He wouldn’t be there of course, he would be busy with the day by now. You keyed in the door code. The door slid open soundlessly. Quietly, you made your way through his extravagant rooms to his bedroom. You stood in the doorway, looking at the bed. It was unmade. Had he spent the night alone? It was none of your business. Starting to cry, you quickly gathered your things with trembling hands. Bleary eyed, you left unceremoniously for the last time.
***
You had decided work would be good. You arrived early and checked the roster. Tonight you would be serving drinks. Dressed in the appropriate outfit, you headed out to start your shift.
It was easy to ignore him in his armor. You thought of him as an inanimate object; a statue. Fennec’s gaze followed you for part of the night, but eventually her curiosity seemed to wane. You doubted you would speak with her again. You felt obscure, safe in anonymity. You continued serving drinks to unappreciative guests, feeling better than you had recently.
***
Days turned to weeks. You grew comfortable in your little routine. It was almost like before. You smiled and laughed with your friends, you artfully dodged their questions about Fett. At night you laid awake, staring at the ceiling. Sometimes a tear would slid out of your eye. But you just brushed it away and closed your eyes to sleep.
You waited to see Bo and Boba together again. They were still avoiding each other. You supposed Boba had another pet, but you didn’t look up at his table to see.
You waited to feel attracted to someone else. But you felt dead inside. After work one night, you slipped out a door to the desert. You walked a little distance up a dune and stood in front of the setting suns.
Bo’s words ringing in your ears, you thought about leaving the palace as the suns finished setting.
***
You packed your little bag and made your little plans. You felt stupid but you didn’t know what else to do. You put in your notice at the club.
Arriving early at the transport, you boarded immediately to get it over with. It was empty. You ignored how that was a bit weird and settled into your seat. You gripped your bag in your hands until your knuckles hurt. Your stomach roiled. You didn’t want to cry. Someone sat directly next to you. You politely averted your gaze, not wanting conversation. But the stranger leaned in, “Mesh’la.”
Your eyes widened at Boba ‘s soft voice and your head whipped around. He was regarding you seriously. “You’re going to leave?”
You looked at his face in stunned silence. He looked down with his eyes, “I don’t… want you to go.”
Not understanding, you continued to stare at him. “It’s… the end for me and Bo,” he paused for a reaction. Receiving none, he continued, “You’re who I want.” He softly grabbed your wrist and pulled your hand off your luggage. He intertwined your fingers with his. “Say something… anything.”
Gobsmacked, you started to cry.
“Please, cyar’ika,” he used a rare term of endearment. It snapped you into reality. You looked at him.
“What I want is you. I thought you were angry. I didn’t think you were going to leave… me.” He leaned slightly closer.
You parted your lips, but not a sound came out. Then, very quietly, “But I’m not like her. I- I’m just a nobody.”
“Stop calling yourself that.”
You shrugged as he leaned in further to kiss your cheek. You realized it was wet with tears. He lingered but pulled away. “Come home, put your things back. Stay.” His fingers tightened around your hand.
“I can’t— I don’t wanna be your pet anymore.” You bit you lip slightly, chin sticking out.
“Okay,” he said simply.
Sniffling, you looked him in the eye suspiciously. He smiled softly, “Come home with me, cyar’ika.” He stood then, pulling you out of your seat. You dropped your backpack on the floor. He kissed you tentatively, but with your acceptance he deepened it quickly. His hands were all over you.
“Mm, someone could come in here,” you said, breathing heavily and wishing for privacy.
“No one else is coming. I had them cancel the transport. And I locked us in here.” He shrugged at your shocked expression, “What?”
Smiling mischievously, you slipped out of your jacket and kicked your boots off. You leapt into his arms, wrapping your legs around his waist. His hands went to your ass to support you as you peeled your top off. Hungrily, he nestled into your tits, kissing up to your throat. Biting you, he said softly, “I’ve missed you so much. My bed… our bed… has been empty. Every night I would hope that you would come back.” You held back tears as he continued, kissing your throat softly, “I thought you were punishing me. I deserved it.”
He kissed up to your mouth. Looking you in the eye, he said, “Every night I would watch you serving drinks to other men. I was jealous. That you talked to them, looked a them. Smiled at them. I wanted you so bad. I didn’t think you’d… leave me.” He look distressed. Wounded, maybe.
“The whole time… you were what I wanted,” you confessed.
He kissed you softly. “Please stay with me. You’re my other half… my cyare.”
Leaning down, you kissed him deeply. He returned it passionately. “Make me yours again,” you whispered. Groaning softly, he pulled your skirt up, revealing your panties. Struggling with his own clothing for a moment, he growled impatiently. You felt him pull your panties to the side. Your pussy clutched in anticipation, and you heard yourself already moaning his name.
“Cyare… you’re mine,” he grunted as he entered you. It had been a long time. The both of you moaned and held on to each other as he pushed his shaft inside if you. “Dank ferrick, you’re so tight,” he bottomed out in you. Grunting, he rutted into you harshly. It felt so good, you threw your head back and wantonly called his name. The otherwise quiet ship echoed with your obscene vocalizations.
“I’m so close already,” Boba’s thrusts became desperate. He groaned your name loudly as he continued to fuck into you. “I… I want you so bad,” he moaned, burying his face into the crook of your neck. His strokes hit deep in your cunt, assaulting your g spot mercilessly. You felt yourself at the precipice of orgasm. You tried to tell him, but ended up moaning senselessly as your pussy clamped down on his cock. “Ungh,” Boba tried to speak but was overcome by your orgasm. You felt yourself still in the throes of orgasm and collapsed over him, moaning and writhing. “Fuck, cyare,” he managed before he stilled, grunting. You felt his cock pulsating in your pussy as he came in you. “Fuck,” he repeated breathlessly. He stayed frozen, holding you to himself with his strong arms.
“Ever gonna let go?” You asked after a moment, amused.
“No. Never again,” he said softly. Kissing the top of his head, you became emotional as you said, “Good.”
He sat down, keeping you in his lap. He looked up at you seriously. “What do you want? A ring?”
You considered,” Yeah… but for now let’s just be together.” He smiled. “Yes, cyare.”
***
Bo plopped down beside you and Boba. Perched in his lap, you felt superior. “So, your pet is back, hmm? Got over her hurt feelings?” Bo looked at you derisively. Your lip quivered very slightly. Boba put both arms around you. “She’s my cyare,” he addressed Bo directly.
“You never called me that.”
“Because you never were.”
She seemed taken aback momentarily. “Well if I want more of you… you’re easily replaceable.”
“Go find less, then,” Boba was unbothered. He turned to you, “Let’s go. I’m bored.” He swept you up into his arms and stood, setting you down very carefully. You wrapped your arms around one of his. He put his large hand over yours, gazing at you adoringly. Without a look back, the two of you went off into the night.

Hello Linked Universe gang! This is my first post here, and I’m using it to talk about an AU I have—it’s a Dark Link AU on Ao3 called “Your Own Assassin” where each of the Links has a Dark, which in and of itself is not original but I had a lot of fun designing each Link’s Dark (long post ahead boys)
So first off, there are two types of Darks: Full Darks and Half Darks. The Full Darks (I’ll call them FDs and the Halves HDs for now) are from games where Dark Link/Shadow Link exists prominently, and HDs are not. Time, Legend, Hyrule, Four, and Warriors have FDs, which means Twilight, Sky, Wild, and Wind have HDs. The only visual difference is that FDs always have bright red eyes, while HDs do not.
For a FD to die permanently, they have to be killed by either a) the Master Sword or b) their Hero (Time’s Dark couldn’t be killed by a different hero unless they wielded the Master Sword). Due to the Sword’s magic, FDs cannot touch it without burning. The HDs can, and their conditions of death are more unique than the FDs. If a FD is killed in any way other than DIRECTLY from their Hero or the Master Sword, they are resurrected in their own Hyrule within a few days.
Now that that’s out of the way, on to the Darks!
Time’s Dark: Fathom
Fathom originated in the Water Temple, where he was defeated by Time. Instead of being killed by the hero directly, Fathom allowed himself to drown in the chamber’s water, so he could be resurrected. He tried to fight Time on one other occasion, much later: when Time had met and married Malon. Time convinced him to flee before he was killed.
Fathom looks like Young Link, but he wears a blue tunic and has hair that sparkles like a mirror (iridescent and reflective). He can travel through any reflection by way of Mirror Realms (which I might make another post about), but he can’t teleport between them—if two lakes were connected by a river, Fathom could travel from one to the other, but if they weren’t connected by something reflective, then he couldn’t.
Legend’s Dark: Duel
Duel is unique in the sense that he doesn’t want to kill Legend, but he does DESPERATELY want to beat him in a fight. The two have battled numerous times when Duel convinced Legend to fight, and Legend has beaten him every time, but Duel always managed to escape before being killed. He has a strange sense of honor, and while Legend will use underhanded tactics to beat him, Duel will not.
Duel wears blue like Fathom, though his clothes are much darker—more of an indigo. He has black hair, like that of Ravio’s (they aren’t related). He can summon any of Legend’s items from nothing and wield shadowy versions of them, which is what makes him such a threat in battle.
Hyrule’s Dark: Dark
Dark is the most powerful of any of the Darks, despite not being the first one to be created. He fought Hyrule once, and he gave Hyrule the scar on his abdomen. Dark survived the battle due to a crumbling section of the chamber’s wall—he leapt into it and crushed himself so Hyrule couldn’t kill him. While Fathom’s death was traumatizing, Dark isn’t bothered at all by his own (frankly, he’s not an easily bothered person).
Dark looks like the classic Dark Link: a shadowy figure with glowing red eyes. In terms of special abilities, Dark has a lot. He can travel inside shadows, though he can’t travel through them (only hide in them). He can also transform into any monster in Hyrule, and speak to monsters while in one of these forms. He also acts as the leader of the Darks in Figment’s absence (more on Figment later).
Four’s Dark: Shadow
I’m sure most of you know exactly where I’m going with this, but I’ll give explanation regardless. Shadow is the Shadow Link from the Four Swords Manga, his appearance and backstory is exactly the same. The only difference is that instead of dying at the end of the manga, Shadow returned to a Realm within a small Dark Mirror (small enough to be carried around). He is trapped in the Mirror, which is carried around by Fathom. The two communicate either through signing or speech, when Fathom travels inside the Mirror to talk to him.
Warriors’ Dark: Reflection
While the rest of the FDs were created by Demise’s curse directly, Reflection was made by Cia’s magic. He’s fought Warriors a number of times throughout the war (any instance where Dark Link appears in Hyrule Warriors), and survived because it wasn’t truly him fighting, it was one of his duplicates. That’s Reflection’s main ability: he can duplicate himself into up to four copies that all look and act exactly like him. He’s also got some magical abilities, though he doesn’t use them often (it’s mostly creating portals).
Reflection looks like Warriors, but with white hair and red tattoos on his face and arms, like the tattoos Cia has. He wears a purple tunic and chain mail (it’s very close to Warriors’ outfit, except without the scarf). Reflection has a central weakness, however: any injury Warriors suffers, Reflection and all his doubles suffer the same wound, even if it’s a sickness. Hypothetically, if Warriors died Reflection would be gone for good, which means Reflection has a lot of trouble fighting his heroic opposite.
Twilight’s Dark: Interloper
Interloper is the first of the HDs, and probably the most complicated one (sorry). He’s never fought Twilight, rather, he just stalked him through his adventure. Twilight is aware of his existence primarily through his dreams, which Interloper can invade.
Interloper has no real and corporeal body—he possesses the bodies of others, and the only way to tell if he is possessing someone is that their eyes turn white. He has to leave a body in order to possess a different one (obviously). He can be shoved out of a body if the person he’s trying to possess fights back hard enough, but once he’s gotten a strong hold it’s very hard to push him out. If the body he’s possessing dies, Interloper does not. He can also transfer images to other people’s minds through physical contact—it’s similar to his possession, only it doesn’t go so far as to attempt to take over the person’s consciousness.
The only way to kill Interloper is to kill his incorporeal form, called his True Form. It is a being of radiant energy, though in reality it’s made of Twili magic. It is very sensitive to anything light-related, even sunlight, and very easy to kill if caught without a body.
Sky’s Dark: Figment
Figment is the original Dark, and the most powerful one. However, when he first fought Sky, he was much weaker than Sky was. He tried to beat him after Sky’s adventure, and was defeated almost immediately. The power of the Master Sword sent Figment to the Sealed Realm, the same place Demise is being kept (though Demise’s seal is stronger, and the two cannot interact). The only way to free him would be with the Master Sword. Figment, like Interloper, has the ability to mess with Sky’s dreams, and he can speak into the minds of the Darks.
Figment looks like a cross between Demise and Ghirahim: he’s the same height and has the same build as Ghirahim, but has fiery hair like Demise. His eyes are red, though not the same red as the FDs. His clothes are form-fitting and black, patterned with scales like the Imprisoned. In terms of being killed, Figment follows the same rules as the FDs. The only reason he didn’t die in his initial confrontation was because of the immense power of the Master Sword and how new the Sealed Realm was.
Wild’s Dark: Hollow
Anyone who’s played Age of Calamity will recognize Hollow as a Link made out of Malice, and that’s exactly who Hollow is. He was made prior to the Shrine of Resurrection, and he looks like pre-Shrine Wild, only made of Malice. Anything he touches, plants or otherwise, burns.
Hollow has little in the way of personality—the only thing he focuses on is his mission of killing Wild, though the two have not met since Wild’s awakening in the Shrine. Hollow cannot touch the Master Sword like the FDs, but unlike them, he won’t die permanently if killed by them. Hollow has a Malice Eye hidden somewhere in his Hyrule, and if the Eye is defeated, then Hollow dies.
Wind’s Dark: Facade
Wind was not meant to be a Hero of Courage, so his Dark was a last minute creation. Facade was crafted by Ganondorf directly, from the body of a Bokoblin reinforced with magical runes and spells that make him stronger and faster than a normal Bokoblin.
He looks very similar to Wind in face and build, but he’s got the ears, fangs, claws, and skin color of a Bokoblin from Wind’s Era. He does not get along well with the majority of the other Darks, especially not the FDs, because they consider him inferior. He’s much easier to kill, too: since he’s a Bokoblin, not a being of dark energy, he dies permanently no matter what kills him. Even if it’s something completely unrelated to Wind or any of the other heroes, he still dies permanently.
———————————————————————
Well, that’s the Darks! Thanks to anyone who stuck around and read these, because I know I wrote a LOT but I’ve also spent a lot of time creating them. If you have any more questions, feel free to send an ask because I’d love to talk about these guys!

Hello! My old master-post is lost in the sauce, so here we go again!
I'm Bokettochild, aka Ketto, Mama Lava, and Flaming Idiot (or just Idiot)
I'm a writer/artist for the Linked Universe Fandom with a tendency to post flash fics and never keep up on my requests and/or updates, no matter how hard I try (blame my college and work)
My pronouns are she/her, but I'm okay with they/them if you forget (I'm terrible with keeping track of everyone's pronouns, so I get it)
I do write requests (note the above warning about lateness) and also will draw for you, but retain the right to deny a request if I so choose. I'm not comfortable with most things shippy (I don't understand them much) but outside of romance I'm willing to at least try to write your ideas.
Outside of requests, most of my content is Legend-centric, and I do obsess. I'm sorry if it gets annoying :(
If you are here for fics, check out my Ao3 account or the below! (The below will never be complete but.....)
Fic Masterpost
The Ties that Bind AU
The Blood Between Us - The boys are all related and find out about it in a series of misadventures that leads threateningly closer to Warriors getting more drunk each time (fortunately, his brothers love him enough to help him). Includes Warriors as Wild's dad, some obligatory Time and Twilight, First King Sky, and appearances by Grandpa Wind and the Heroes Shade!
Pepper Me This - An in-between moment where the boys and Malon play a backwards version of Never Have I Ever and Legend has done everything. (CW for terrible accents)
The Face of My Father - (Continuation of TBBU) The boys (plus Ravio and Shade) end up traveling to Termina and discovering some long lost friends of Legend's. There are issues the boys need to work out from the previous stories, and I just keep making them worse. Also, the Fierce Deity is Sky's dad and Time accidentally releases both him and Majora from their masks.
All the Voices in My Head - Another in-between fic where Four and Legend bond about hearing voices and Four discovers new pronouns for themself (Gratuitous Four and Legend fluff)
Hylia's Love - (Continuation of TFOMF) The boys get transported to the time of the First Hero and meet Hylia, Link, and Orville, and have to help them fight Demise's army while also fighting among each other until tragedies start setting them straight and making them address their issues.
Next Part: Zvezda - Warriors' memories of his young son before Zvezda (Wild) was taken away. Will feature all of the other heroes making cameos at least once, if not more times (Four is a minish though, so I can only fit him in so much since Wars can't see him)
Art for this Series
Sablya - AKA the OC I created as Wild's mom because I don't get shipping and couldn't really figure out who to pair Wars with, so the readers had me make this lovely lady. She hasn't made an official appearance in canon other than a name drop, but she's coming soon.
Robin - AKA the name I gave Sky's mom so I could have Dei (The fierce Deity) not just call her "your mother. This is drawn by the amazing telemna-hyelle (Thank you again, Tellie!)
First - Because he's in this story too :) IDK I got bored and drew all the boys, but gave this one EyebagsTM
Sunbeams- Sun, Sky and their three boys. Please ignore how I drew Legend, awkward expressions are awkward
The W Boys - I literally was just messing around and decided to draw Grandpa Wind, Wild, Warriors and Wind all taking a selfie together. It doesn't actually happen in the story, but it's here I guess
All the Voices in My Head Art - Legend and Four resting and chatting after getting shredded by Majora
Hylia and Wild - From Chapter 5 of Hylia's Love. Wild shows Hylia the Sheikah Slate and she's fascinated
..................
Feathered AU
(created alongside claybrownie7566, who originated the idea, please check out her version too)
Feathered AU Prologue - The official prologue for the Au, as per Brownie herself and written by yours truly. All blood descendants of Hylia have wings, but Legend does not know this. We follow him in a quick overview of his life before LU as he hides himself from the world while also becoming a famous hero.
Wild Misconceptions - Wild notices Legend is different from the other heroes, and with the aid of the Scientific Method determines that Legend must be trans and honestly, it's more reasonable than the truth. (Not a mockery of trans people; please (politely) inform me of anything that may be misconstrued as transphobic, I'm as clueless as Wild)
Flight to My Heart - Legend tries to keep his wings and his (perceived) evil nature a secret from the other heroes, who are all intent on figuring out what's wrong with him and helping in their own ways. (Features Dad Sky, All-Knowing Four, Uncle Twilight, Tired Dad Warriors and best buddies/brothers Legend and Wind)
Let Me Be Your Wings - (Inspired by this beautiful art and this song) Hyrule and the Chain are invited to attend the birthday ball for Princess Zelda Aurora, Legend's grand-niece. While the vet and birthday girl share an airborne dance, Hyrule realizes that Dawn (who has lost her wings) is a bit jealous, and offers to be her wings so they can dance the same way. Hyrule/Dawn (This is about as shippy as I'm willing to get, and only because it was written for a dear friend)
.........
The Fluffy Adventures of A Bunny Merchant
Cider and Cocoa - Legend and Ravio accidentally win each other's affections with hot drinks, both loving the other's recipe more than his own. The story follows Ravio's perspective through A Link Between Worlds, the War of Ages and into LU where he and Legend share with the heroes (platonic: not written as Ravioli)
Scarf - Ravio gives each of the heroes one of his scarves and fails to convince them that's a customer service thing
Bunny Snuggles - Legend is touch-starved and Ravio helps
Stings and Tickles - Ravio does not like bees but runs into them a lot, both while living with Legend and during the war. Legend, meanwhile, loves bees, and actually softens up a LOT around them (he also very ticklish and they take advantage of it)
Of Grammas and Apple Pies - Legend and Wild make pie together after Wars reveals he's never had a good pie in his life. In the meantime, the captain and the other heroes discover that Legend is a horrible grandson and doesn't keep in contact with any of his family other than his sister, so they try and fix it.
Tired Feet and (Usually) Nimble Fingers - After a long day, Legend will sometimes message Ravio's feet. Except on the days when his arthritis kicks in, then Ravio messages his hands.
Coughing Up A Lung - Sheerow worries because one of his boys is sick and the other is missing (also part of Whumptober 2021)
Oops, I Did It Again - Ravio is sick with a deadly fever so Legend locks the other heroes out of his house in the middle of winter and tends to his best friend as best he can (also part of Whumptober 2021)
Say Uncle - Legend reminisces about his uncle to the other heroes and accidentally reveals that it's the anniversary of the man's death (a bit sad, but mostly fluffy)
Dumplings - (Inspired by a memory from visiting my own extended family) Hyrule leads the younger heroes in cooking dinner once Ravio is feeling better from being sick. (References Whumptober 2021 fics)

A Hero Protects His Own - (Inspired by ryssbelle's amazing Divine Beast Sky comic) A cloaked being curses Sky during a battle, making him incapable of surviving in the light. To save his life, Twilight uses the shadow crystal to turn Sky into a bird after a switch that separates the heroes. The only way to end the curse is with the aid of the Master Sword, or so they believe, but its with Legend at the moment and no one knows where the vet is. The cloaked figure seems intent on catching him for some reason so it becomes a race to see how can get the sword and the vet first. (Deviates from the comic starting in Chapter 8)

The Floor is Lava - Legend refuses to play 'the floor is lava' with the other heroes and dies as a result (he doesn't stay dead, because I can't do permadeath)

#LegendIsADisneyPrincess - Legend has all the qualifications of being a Disney Princess. He has an animal sidekick (or a dozen) wears a skirt, and well- he has magic hair, magic hands, animals talk to him, he's been poisoned, cursed, kidnapped and enslaved and he definitely has missing parents (unfinished)

Fortnight
Artist: Taylor Swift feat. Post Malone
Album: The Tortured Poets Department
Track Number: 1
Year: 2024
Resources: The official music video, Genuis (for lyrics and misc. supporting details), addictioncenter.com, my friend with a music degree
This is my personal interpretation! I do not claim to be objective or that this is the only interpretation! This is simply one possible interpretation and what I am getting from this song!
[Verse 1: Taylor]
I was supposed to be sent away But they forgot to come and get me
I was a functioning alcoholic ’Til nobody noticed my new aesthetic
But you’re the reason
And no one here’s to blame But what about your quiet treason?
The album opens with an allusion to mental health facilities, and closes with a song titled after a woman who was institutionalized for a period, so I'm sure we can expect to see more of this going forward in the thematic elements of this album. This verse, to me, is establishing the emotional turmoil felt by the singer in another failed relationship. She appears to be suffering a depressive episode bad enough that she feels she was supposed to be taken in for her health, but they forgot.
A 'functioning alcoholic', per the addiction center, makes up about 19.5% of alcoholic and are defined by the ability to maintain jobs and relationships. These types of alcoholics tend to have depression, but are less likely to suffer from other co-occuring issues. I feel this line is meant to express that she developed a dependence on alcohol, but was able to maintain some front of normalcy which prevented others in her life from noticing, pushing her deeper into her alcoholism until she lost the 'functioning' part.
She blames this on her unnamed former partner. With the addition of the last couplet, she seems to imply that from an outside perspective their falling out had no guilty party, but she then revealed some perceived sleight from her partner, or 'quiet treason' that destroyed their relationship.
[Chorus: Taylor]
And for a fortnight there, we were forever
Run into you sometimes, ask about the weather Now you’re in my backyard, turned into good neighbors
Your wife waters flowers, I wanna kill her
This failed relationship seems to have been a flash-in-the-pan, intense but short-lived type of affair, with a fortnight being two weeks long. The pair still seem to live in the same general area, and in fact are neighbors. They don't speak about their dead flame, but also never get past small talk and pleasantries.
I believe in this instance, 'your wife waters flowers' is an alternate form of the phrase 'to water your own grass', derived from 'the grass is greener where you water it', meaning to nurture what you have instead of searching for something better. I believe the substitution of flowers here is meant to emphasize the status quo, picket fence appearance of the ex's relationship. The ex appears happy and put together with a dutiful wife, which illicits rage from the singer who directs her jealousy towards her.
[Verse 2: Taylor & Post Malone]
All my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February
I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary
And I love you, it’s ruining my life I love you, it’s ruining my life
I touched you for only a fortnight I touched you, but I touched you
Mondays are widely regarded as the worst day of the week. They are the start of the typical work week, and have a negative connotation of either being slow or being the day when all the problems that happened over the weekend show up, making them seem to have more issues than other days. February is the shortest calendar month, so having an 'endless February' emphasizes the feeling of time dragging on further, leading to the feeling that even the shortest time frame seems infinite. As a side note, February also has Valentines Day, a holiday for lovers, on the 14th, falling at the end of a fortnight.
There is no 'miracle move-on drug' or equivalent, so I interpret this as the mentioned drug merely being the realization that it's over, which would be a 'hard pill to swallow' or a 'bitter pill'. However, this didn't seem to stay long, as the effects of this realization were not long-lasting.
The singer is obsessive over this relationship, to the degree she is losing her ability to function, as referenced by a 'change in aesthetic' in verse 1. She is literally ruining her life. As short as the relationship was, it did happen, and she finds some amount of solace in the fact that she 'touched' the Ex.
[Chorus: Taylor & Post Malone]
And for a fortnight there, we were forever
Run into you sometimes, ask about the weather Now you’re in my backyard, turned into good neighbors
Your wife waters flowers, I wanna kill her
And for a fortnight there, we were together
Run into you sometimes, comment on my sweater Now you’re at the mailbox, turned into good neighbors
My husband is cheating, I wanna kill him
Over time, the pair seem to be growing closer again, moving from surface level pleasantries to more personal conversations and even visiting each other.
As for the line about wanting to kill her husband, that seems to be a recurring theme in several songs such as Florida!!! from the same album and no body, no crime from evermore. This could be indicative of the singer moving on slowly, turning her anger from the the wife to her own husband.
[Bridge: Taylor & Post Malone]
I love you, it’s ruining my life I love you, it’s ruining my life
I touched you for only a fortnight I touched you, I touched you
I love you, it’s ruining my life I love you, it’s ruining my life
I touched you for only a fortnight I touched you, I touched you
The effect of this song being sung in canon seems to imply mutual feelings between the Ex and the singer. It almost seems that in getting closer once more, this is a moment where they admit their mutual regret at how the relationship ended, but both have come so far now that they can't change the past.
[Outro: Taylor & Post Malone]
Thought of callin' ya, but you won't pick up 'Nother fortnight lost in America Move to Florida, buy the car you want But it won't start up 'til you touch, touch, touch me Thought of calling ya, but you won't pick up 'Nother fortnight lost in America Move to Florida, buy the car you want But it won't start up 'til I touch, touch, touch you
Again sung in canon, the singers grieve the lost opportunity, acknowledging the fragile position they stand in: they ignore each other's calls, but if they allow themselves to stray, they could have the future they want. Neither is willing to take the first step, so both remain in the same situation.
In this instance, I believe the music video is intended to be more artistic than adding additional context to the song, but there are some very distinct choices that are interesting.
Taylor reveals facial tattoos when wiping her face, implying the impact he had on her behind the facade of normalcy
Taylor wears what appears to be victorian style mourning garb before she and Post show connection
Post appears in several scenes without his tattoos. I'm not entirely sure the significance of this, but it is worth noting. Someone theorized in the comments of the music video it's to show Taylor sees the real him, but thematically that doesn't really track for me.
Asylum imagery, including physical restraints and a nurse administering medication
The music video is shot in black and white with the exception of some colored shapes between Taylor and Post during one segment.
