Is it just me or is it super weird in Chapter 1 where Cloud is literally Zack. I played CC & CCR & I'm just. alsjfalsd it takes me off guard every single time. I just end up eye balling Cloud the whole time waiting for him to grow black hair and get an X scar.

I knew it was coming, I was prepared for it happening. It just is so weird & bizarre to me.

I mean both versions of Cloud are in that chapter but the trooper Cloud is mixed with Zack? He looks like Cloud in a trooper uniform, has Cloud's same height & everything. At some moments he says what Zack said to Cloud (If you walk up & click on him at random.). He'll even swap between sounding exactly like Zack to sounding like Cloud it's trippy. Or inception if you will. (Specifically around moments when interacting with Tifa.)

By the time I get to the point where you're running through the burning town, I'm not really sure if the trooper Cloud on the ground is entirely an Easter Egg. But I'm kinda shocked Cloud only has headaches when encountering his mother in some way.

But I got sidetracked. I'm mulling over Clouds mental or memory state. The fact Zack's appearance doesn't stay stable makes me wonder just how much of the true him is fighting to the surface. Yet at the same time Jenova had to get creative with the memories just to keep the SOLDIER persona stabilized within the madness of that memory.

It feels as if I'm also missing a lot of context. there's a lot different with how the different games play out (at least I know there are a lot more codex's in the original with lore i want so bad.)

sakusa is so interesting like imagine you're one of the best aces in the country in only your second year of high school, and there are all these expectations on you, and you live in a constant state of anxiety that you're going to get hurt or injured or be sick, or anything that will make you lose your spot as one of the best--after all, what worth do you have if you aren't the best? and you work hard and train hard and you do everything right--as methodic and dedicated as you can be--but then you watch one of the other best aces, one of your friends, lose his final shot at nationals because of a team you've barely heard of before, and you just know that that could be you one day, because there is an entire country's worth of players who want to take your spot.

and then you get to nationals and you've done everything right, you've clung to your title among the best in japan, but your team loses anyways. and you don't want to be pitied when your captain's injury was ultimately an accident and unpreventable, but you don't understand either, because you may be a realist but you're also sixteen and you lost at the thing you were supposed to be the best at. because ultimately, you were lucky. you have a great team, you have strong muscles, you have a drive to win. but who knows how long those things will last. how long can one person be the best? and you don't ever want to be pitied for losing that title. but maybe the only way to avoid others' pity and grief is to never lose.

and then you grow up and you know--for sure, now; it's something coming eventually, you know--that these things will not last forever. but you still: you had them. you worked for them, and you were strong, and you had them. everyone has their ideal games and ideal ways to go out of the sport--because eventually, there will be a last game. but if you can keep working hard, keep training, keep doing things methodically and truly and with all your devotion and dedication, won't that make it all satisfying when it ends anyways? there's nothing to pity about that ending, really, is there? when you've devoted yourself to something, when you've done your very best, when you have loved something?

aren't you one of the lucky ones? to get to do that?

I was once again thinking about this goofy Luffy moment after his Lucci punch™ and i had to see it frame by frame.

first the force of it throws them both away, and while Lucci is seen on screen tumbling for a long moment, Luffy is just away in a blink of an eye.

and then his funny scene - his legs are like jelly that he tries to get under control,

he stumbles, falls, rolls into a mix of all his limbs and eyes,

and then only the cloud behind him cushions his fall

- which would be interesting if he can subconsciously control that while he tries to regain the control over his movements - that the environment around him still adapts to his awakened Devil Fruit abilities and morphs to help him. Where others would probably fall through that cloud, for Luffy that cloud backs him up like a trampoline.

It's just fascinating!
