Rise of the Pink Ladies: A Perfect Rendition
There's a new #grease in town and it is the #pinkladies time to shine in #riseofthepinkladies!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.5 out of 5. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is a musical series that takes place four years before the original movie “Grease.” Set in 1954, before rock ‘n’ roll ruled Rydell high, before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school, four fed-up outcasts, Jane (Marisa Davila), Olivia (Cheyenne Isabel Wells), Nancy (Tricia Fukuhara) and Cynthia (Ari Notartomaso), dare to have fun…

so according to variety magazine/website both rise of pink ladies and city on fire do quality for emmys. so in both shows which actors deserved the honors and why
for rise of the pink ladies
the girls
Cheyenne Isabel Wells (Olivia) i think deserves at least a nom for rise of the pink ladies, she was so good all season at everything. Her comedic timing, dramatic beats. She was believable as a teenage girl hopelessly in love with her teacher and trying to move on past him to someone better and more age appropriate.
Tricia Fukuhara (Nancy) absolutely deserves recognition for her comedy. She had me in stiches every time she appeared on screen. She may not have had that much of a storyline until the later part of the season, but she delivered every time. Her intensity of the comedy really sold it for me.
Supporting girls
Madison Thompson (Susan) I'm a little biased, because I'm a sucker for a "defrosting ice queen" trope. (think brooke davis, naomi clark, blair waldorf)
her storyline was tragic and she started off so frigid and sealed off, rightfully with what's happened to her. But watching her soften and open up, she really did an incredible job.
I do think they might manage a nom for original score or original song. (the cynthia and lydia one, the name is escaping me)
As for city on fire
Jemima Kirke (Regan) broke my heart some many times especially in the flash back where it explains the rift between her and William. And then during the blackout in the finale with Keith, she really carried the adult storyline for me.
and as much as I love and adore city on fire, I don't really see any other acting noms coming from the show, however, art direction????
Rebecca Lord-Surratt (art director) city on fire was one of the most beautiful things I've seen this year. I loved everything about the stylistic choices made and like the popart motif worked into the real world through Sam's eyes???? so incredibly well done.

tell me about your ocs boy
ok im just gonna start with my favorite child my sweet bisexual boy
Tumblr media
so I got this guy his name is thompson silver and hes the sheriff of bluebell wyoming in july 1886. (fake town but I did. too much research into geography) basically the town is north of cheyenne but doesnt go west of casper. its buried between two mountains which was fine until more railroads started to get build, cus bluebell got skipped over due to the difficult landscape (think tumbleweed in rdr but. not.)
Tumblr media
He came from Sioux Rapids, Iowa. After his father died in the civil war, the railroad came to the town in 1868. They got on the train and started heading towards Bluebell, hoping to start fresh in a town that was just founded.
He has an older brother (Aaron) and a younger sister (Bonnie) who live with their mom (Mackenzie). Initially they lived in Bluebell, but then after struggling to make enough money (and refusing to go into gambling or prostitution) in 1877 they took a gamble by buying an old run down farm a mile from town. Thompson helped fix the place up, but moved back to town a year later to work as deputy sheriff.
Since Thompson lost his father (Brady) at such a young age, he instantly gravitated towards Bluebell’s sheriff. He spent his teenage years in town trying to go on any mission he could so he could drum up some money for the family, but also so he could actively make a change. He's got a pretty good mental compass and he LOOOOVES to shit talk other government officials for being super corrupt. its like his favorite pasttime
He’s well liked by the town since he keeps trouble out, but that doesn’t mean he hates fun. He treats everyone in town like family, since he grew up there and was always involved with making things better. When he wanted to marry Elliot (the local bartender and his teenage crush), there were a few people who didn’t agree, but the rest of the town felt Thompson deserved to be happy. cus also, the wild west era was very accepting to gay relationships! homos on the range!
Thompson's biggest enemy is the red bandit, who has been terrorizing the town and subsequently ruining any potential foot traffic since people arent gonna go out of their way to get to bluebell with that guy running around.
but oh yeah, the red bandit is elliot :)
sidenote: thompsons a sagittarius :D

Sitting On The Shelf - Marcus White x Reader
Part 31 - Spring Cleaning
SOTS Masterlist
"Okay, let's give a warm first-day welcome to our newest employee, Bo Thompson." It was far too early for Glenn's joyous tone, though when was it not? The loud claps that resounded around the break room didn't help either.
"I can't believe Glenn actually hired Bo." Amy scoffed, her cup of coffee muffling the already whispers words, loud enough that only you could hear. "Bo who staged a shooting to propose to Cheyenne, Bo who then ran away at the thought of having a baby with Cheyenne and we had to hunt him down, Bo who-"
"Yeah I get the idea, Ames." Folding your arm across your chest, you turned in your chair to face the man who was slipping out of his chair to stand and introduce himself to the people in the break room. You other hand held your cup of coffee in front of your lips, the steam heating your face and keeping you warm. "But Glenn's all about expanding his cloud 9 family. I'm more surprised he didn't do it sooner."
"What's up?" Bo's shirt had an all-too explicit cartoon penis on it, attached to a hand and being held up as a middle finger. The image was only accentuated by a big red circle and thunder bolts surrounding it, the word 'off' in big, black block letters beneath it.
"Who apparently wasn't filled in about the dress code." Very clearly so.
"Why does his middle finger look so weird?" Mateo asked, staring intently at the shirt and trying to figure out what exactly was wrong with the image, the realisation dawning on him as soon as he'd asked the question aloud. "Oh, it's a penis. Ha, clever."
At the stark silence that settled over the break room, Cheyenne looked up at Bo, squeezing her juice box between two hands and fiddling with the cardboard flaps. "Bo, maybe you should change."
"Change into what?" Bo sassed, his hands flying to his sides in an over exaggerated shrug. "Where am I supposed to find another shirt?"
Jonah let out a sigh, your attention turning to him as he ran a hand over his face in frustration. He looked oddly tired, by Jonah standards, and you were beginning to worry that he hasn't been taking care of himself, a series of unusual break room appearances beginning to get to you. "We work in a store."
"Okay, moving on. Uh, today, we're gonna be spring cleaning, which is gonna be buckets of fun." Glenn had barely got his words out, holding the bucket beside him up for everyone to see, before Jonah was letting laughter slip past his lips.
Something was definitely wrong, you were sure of it. Jonah's laugh was forced and scratchy, and as the attention of the break room moved to him, his face paled. "What? That's that was funny."
"No, it wasn't." Garrett deadpanned, staring down Jonah who was shifting anxiously under his gaze.
"Literally nobody laughed, except for you." Staying out of the drama for a change, you let the debate ensue, watching it play out of the brim of your cup of coffee.
"It's barely even wordplay. He just said buckets, and held up a bucket." Even Dina was intervening to comment of the absurdity of Jonah's laughter, and not unlike usual she was right. It had barely been wordplay, and if it warranted any laugh at all, it would have been a delirious, sleepy or sick one.
"It's called prop comedy, Dina."
"You're just kissing up to him, 'cause you're dating his daughter." Mateo had assessed the situation and hit the nail on the head, Jonah's face and neck flushing red and quickly coming to defend himself against the accusation.
"That's not true at all." He shuffled in his seat under the intense stares of everyone on him, and Glenn's upset and confused one. Stumbling to an explanation, he attempted to hide the older man from the truth. "In fact, just this morning, Kristen said she respects how much I don't kiss up."
"Where did you see Kristen this morning?" The question was innocent enough at face value, but the truth would destroy Glenn and told Jonah he'd already said too much.
"Hmm? We uh, met for breakfast."
"Wait, I'm confused, 'cause it's 6:30 right now. So does that mean you got up and drove from your house, and she got up and drove from her house to meet for breakfast before 6:00 a.m.?" If you didn't know Glenn, you'd have assumed he was tormenting Jonah for the stupidity of his answer; unfortunately, that was not the case. The older man was genuinely under the belief that that was what had happened, and if Jonah could pull the right moves, he'd have Glenn convinced.
"That's what happened." Jonah himself didn't sound like he believed it, but Glenn, ever the sweetheart, took Jonah's word as truth and was willing to run with it.
"And what restaurant is open at, like, 4:00 in the morning?" Any asked, egging on Jonah's web of lies as she stirred the pot and attempted to get him to catch himself out.
Jonah only allowed himself a second to think before blurting out the first (plausible) idea that came to mind. "It was a gas station."
"Gas station breakfast usually starts at 6:00. Was this BP or Mobil?" Dina knew far too much about gas stations for you liking; but it was perfectly enough right now to catch Jonah in his lie. Not that you wanted him to feel the 'wrath' of Glenn, but the face he pulled was sure to be funny.
"Oh, I don't, I don't remember."
Bo suddenly stood from his seat, the screeching of chair legs against the tiled floor turning everyone's attention to the newcomer. "Nah, fools, they're banging. You know what I'm saying?"
"You know what?" You whispered your question to Amy who acknowledged it with a hum, watching a Jonah's face paled at Bo's reveal. "I think I could get used to having Bo around. That was awesome."
Bo began miming the action he'd just exposed, a look of appall filling Glenn's features. "He's getting a little breakfast action. Yeah."
————————————————————————
Employees had been divided in cleaning squads all across the store, people leaving the break room with armfuls of buckets and bleach, yellow rubber gloves and replacement mouse traps. If you could use it to clean, someone was holding it.
Thankfully, you'd managed to convince Glenn to let you clean around the store with Amy and Garrett, not wanting to take Marcus upon his offer to join him in warehouse. Despite knowing it would mean you could lazily work through the days cleaning at your doting boyfriends side, you didn't like the idea of having to work in the warehouse: heavy lifting and a raccoon infestation not your idea of a good day at work.
You'd taken up your usual post sitting on the customer service desks counter top, sifting through stacks of paperwork that you probably should've filed a long time ago. Jonah was stood at your side, leaning with his back to Amy and Garrett as he stared down Glenn, anxious to talk to him again after the events in the break room this morning.
"Wow, someone just never picked up their photos." Turning your head slightly to the right, you looked at the thick stack of photos Amy was holding, trying to catch a glimpse as to what they could contain. "What do we do? Do we just toss them?"
"Uh, well, first, we look for any naked pictures, and I will be doing that." Garrett plucked the prints from Amy's hands, quickly flicking through them. "Dressed, dressed..."
"I love finding stuff left in the photo lab, man." Leaning your head back, you brought one of your knees up and held it against your chest, the other hanging over the edge of the countertop. "There's always something interesting. Yeah, sure, it's not always something I wanted to see, but it's always interesting."
Any grimaced at your words, though you didn't see, returning to categorising the paperwork you had saddled yourself up with to aid in Glenn's 'spring cleaning' efforts.
"Hey, Glenn." Jonah had suddenly perked up from his silent position as he waved to the older man from across the aisle, Glenn simply pulling a face as ignoring him in response.
"Do you feel good about how that just went?" Amy asked, having just as you had, seen the whole interaction between the two gone down. Glenn had a hard time lying about how he felt to anyone; Jonah had an even harder time knowing people weren't impressed, overwhelmed and maybe even slightly intimidated by him.
"I don't get it." Jonah let out a deep sigh, arms folded across his chest as he turned to face the three of you. Glenn's dismissal had clearly gotten to him, and knowing Jonah it would take turning that dismissal into utter bewilderment to feel good about himself again. "Normally, my girlfriends' dads love me. I still keep in touch with most of them. I just took Naomi's Dad to a train museum."
"Jonah, relax. Glenn likes you." Amy chastised turning back to her pile of things to work through before Jonah inevitably interrupted her again.
"Yeah, but he doesn't seemed jazzed, you know. I want him I want him to be jazzed." Jonah was eventuating every word with an almost violent shake of his hands, nervousness running through his entirety.
Reaching out across the countertop to him, you pushed his hands together between your own, trapping them and stopping their movement. At the stillness, you let them go, leaning back to your original position and picking up a new pile of paperwork to look through. "Just stop trying so hard, J. Glenn clearly likes you, he just doesn't like that you're dating his daughter. Give him some time."
"Yeah. Eventually, he'll be, I'm not gonna say jazzed. He's, he's gonna be fine with it." Amy reaffirmed, the pair of you trying to reboots Jonah's confidence before it was too crushed.
"Does that look like a piece of a butt to you guys?" Garrett held up one of the left-behind photos, having been sifting through the pile while the three of you conversed in search of the naked pictures he coveted so.
"There's a lot of butts on the Internet." Jonah teased,  leaning against the desk as he spoke to the man. "Have you tried looking there?"
"It's too easy. I like the hunt." Garrett dismissed, returning to sifting through the photos for something showing, or someone naked - the only true gems of the photo labs leftovers.
"It'll be okay, J. Go speak to Glenn, I'm sure you'll figure things out." Smoothing down his cloud 9 vest, you gently pushed him away, sending him off in the direction Glenn had previously left in.
You didn't doubt that Jonah would figure things out, even if he had to do so in his own Jonah way - things would be resolved - and before you'd know it he'd be back to his usual self.
"I feel like I know this girl. Or maybe she worked here." Amy divided the stack of photos she had been looking through, handing a half to Garrett and another half to you.
"Oh, yeah, she does look familiar. I was just focused on the neck down before, so..."
Scoffing at Garrett's comment, you made your own, eyes trained on the picture as you scanned over the woman's very familiar face. "I know her from somewhere. Like, I must have seen her everyday, kind of know her. You know?"
"Hey, Tate, do you recognize this girl?" Amy asked, stopping the pharmacist as he walked past the group of you. Tate walked up to the side of the counter, encasing you between his arms as he stared down at the photos you were holding. "Like, maybe she worked here in the last ten years or something."
"Hmm. Oh, yeah, was the the one on Fluoxetine? No. That was Carol." Thankfully, Tate's looming presence didn't last long as he pushed himself away from the counter in thought. "Oh, maybe lithium. No. No, that was also Carol. Yeah, Carol is what we in the medical profession call a cuckoo."
"You can just say no."
"Yeah, no, I don't know her. Ooh, hey, let me know when you need, uh, refills on that skin stuff." As Tate turned to continue his journey whenever he was headed, he turned back to you, his most charming smile crossing his face. "And let me know if you need a good time, gorgeous."
Not surprising coming from Tate, however, you'd been hoping that today would be the day you managed to escape his flirtations.
"I'm good, Tate. Besides, you do know I have a boyfriend, right?" You words sounded nice enough, however, you were trying to get on Tate's nerves, push his buttons as he had always pushed yours. Tate didn't seem to believe you, his smile not fading at the statement. "Marcus? You know, from Warehouse."
"Marcus?" Tate gasped, not quite believing the words that had come from your mouth. "Like, Marcus Marcus?"
"Did you not hear?" Garrett reaffirmed your point to Tate, breaking away from his handful of photographs to address the pharmacist. "It was a whole thing."
"Well, I'll be damned." Tate scoffed, hands tucked deep into the pockets of his white pharmaceutical coat as he began to leave once again. "It's always the nice guys who come last, huh."
After he was out of sight, you turned to face your companions, making eye contact with Amy that had the two of you bursting out in laughter at the absurdity of it all. With any hope, the day would get better from here.
————————————————————————
Garrett had supplied your investigation with a laptop and a folder filled with employee records, searching each feminine-sounding name you came across into an employee database on search of your mysterious photo-leaver. So far, your search had been less then successful.
"Okay, try Veronica Harris." Amy scanned her finger across the page, reading aloud what she saw and hoping that it would be the girl you were searching for. "She quit in 2011."
"Veronica Harris. Oh, no, it's definitely not Veronica." The girl you were seeing on the screen was far different from the one in the image, your chance at finding her decreasing majorly with every failed enquiry.
"Oh, Veronica." Amy fawned at the image that flashed up on the screen, reminiscing on times she had worked with the girl across the years, at last putting a face to the name she knew was familiar. "How is she doing?"
"Prison."
"What? Another one went to prison?" You asked, looking up from the meticulous filing you were still working through, deciding to only tune into Amy and Garrett's research until you finished working through the paperwork you'd found this morning.
"Yeah, we're kind of a feeder."
"Ugh, okay, umm, try Robin Sanders." Amy flickered through the grey folder of previous employee that sat on the countertop in-front of her, desperate to put a name to the face she knew, that she knew. And you and Garett knew too.
You winced as the image came up, gasps elicited from Amy and Garret at a Robin that looked very different from the last time you saw her. "Not Robin. Meth hit her hard."
"God, why do people do it?"
"My guess?" You asked, picking up a handful of of paperwork and slipping it into a folder pocket. "It feels incredible."
Amy and Garrett shared a slightly disturbed look, before continuing their, ultimately, fruitless search into the mysterious, but not-so, stranger.
————————————————————————
"Well, this has escalated."
Though you couldn't quite place when, or how, you'd ended up in the break room, you had; tucked into one of the couches in the back corner of the room as Amy pieced together an array of pictures and red sharpie.
Her spider diagram would've confused anyone outside the three of you - saying that, you weren't even entirely sure you knew what Amy was making - but you knew she was trying her hardest to figure out exactly who this woman was.
"I, I just feel like there's gotta be something that tells us who she is, like a stack of mail with an address on it, or, or, or, or like a a car with a license plate, and we can run the plate."
"Okay, explain to me the process by which we would run a plate." Garrett was trying, and failing, to stifle his laughter, amused and bewildered by Amy's ambition in relation to solving this case.
"We would call someone on the force." It was a wild suggestion, but not entirely impossible, yet still outlandish enough that you wouldn't consider it beyond the break room.
"The force?" Raising your eyebrows at Amy quizzically, you folded your arms across your chest, shuffling into the comfort of the sofa as you looked at her eccentric display.
"Yes, that is what people call it." Amy herself didn't seem sure that there were people who referred to it as 'the force,' but she felt as though she was too far in to back out now.
"Look, I am all for wasting time on useless activities, but this is entering Carol territory."
"I agree, Ames. I'm a sucker for a do-nothing day, but this? This is getting to be too much."
"Look at that kitchen, guys. That's like a, a million dollar kitchen." Amy made a good point. The kitchen was far too beautiful for someone who had worked at cloud 9, and as far as you were aware, this woman had. Something just didn't add up. "Aren't you the least bit curious about how someone who used to work here ended up in a house like that?"
"Is that a solid oak table? " Garrett's question had caught you off guard, however, the mention of the detail had you observing the photos even closer. No cloud 9 employee could ever afford a solid oak table. "Looks like a solid oak table."
"And a French press." You muttered your observation into the shared quiet of the otherwise abandoned break room, a wicked smile curling onto Amy's lips as she managed to reinvest you and Garrett in her cause.
"That is a French press! Do you know how much disposable time you need to make French press coffee?" Amy shook her hands, her hands resting on her hips as she stared up at the whiteboard. "Too much."
"We're gonna need to make these a lot bigger." Garrett concluded, picking up the prints that had yet to be pinned to the red-sharpie covered investigation, and placing them in his lap; headed for the photo lab to blow up the images for closer observation.
"While you guys go and get those made bigger, I'm gonna run some of these prints by warehouse, see if they know anything."
Your ruse was not a good one, but you still snatched three photos from the top of the pile to support your claim. Garrett saw right through you. "You just want to go and see Marcus."
"No." It was no use trying to lie to the pair, both of them knowing you all too well. "Yes. I'll meet you back here in 20?"
————————————————————————
"Marcus!" You sang as you pushed past the warehouse doors and into uncharted territory; so far in your cloud 9 career, in every instance of you being in the warehouse, you'd injured yourself or entered it upset. The fact you were quite joyfully skipping through the back space left only one option left that you were determined to avoid. "Marcus, sweetheart! Where are you?"
"Here." The voice you recognised all too well startled you into a fall, that was luckily stopped by your boyfriends large hands grabbing onto your waist and steadying you against him. "We've got to stop meeting like this, angel."
You stared up at the brunette before quickly standing on the tips of your toes and daringly pressing a kiss to his chapped lips. The peck of your lips against his had Marcus's lips chasing after you own as you pulled away, a frown settling on his face as you pushed a single finger against his lips.
Letting your arms hang loosely over his shoulders, you allowed your eyes to run across his broad chest before meeting his eyes once again. Catching you off guard, Marcus pressed the kiss he so desired against your lips, holding you lip locked until you needed to break away for air. "So what brings you to the warehouse today, angel?"
"Well, I did have a question to ask some of the guys, but I'm so over it now."
"What? Why?"
Wrapping your arms around Marcus's neck you pulled him into another kiss, lazily slanting your lips against his own. With a squeeze to his bicep that elicited a gasp, you slipped your tongue past his lips, escalating the kiss more then your previous ones had. As Marcus went to pull away, you successfully chased after him, pressing a series of feather-light kissed against his mouth with a wide smile.
"How long do you have?"
Looking at the imaginary watch that supposedly adorned your wrist, you decided you probably had 15 minutes until you needed to be back into the break room with answers from the warehouse guys. "15 minutes. I'm all yours, sweets."
Marcus pulled you with him, taking you to a secluded workbench at the back of the warehouse, where he helped you lift yourself onto of the counter, the added height making you face to face. "15 minutes? I can work with that."
The photos that were stuffed haphazardly into your back pocket could wait.
———————————————————————-
"Aww, look at Jonah!" You'd only just arrived back from your trip to the warehouse, late, red faced and with tousled hair, and hadn't expected to see the brunette in the break room - let alone all dolled up in his cloud covered tie.
"11 Mississippi, 12 Mississippi, 13. Uh, he says to count to 13. He likes it more as a slurry." Jonah held up the cloud 9 brand mug that he'd just poured sugar into; the drink now more sugar then coffee.
"What has Glenn done to you?" Placing down your handful of photos onto the table Jonah stood beside, you turned him to face you, inspecting the back and front of his tie and assessing his face. Somehow, he looked even more tired then this morning and seemed itching to go home and get said tie off of him.
"So as his assistant, do you have to wear the tie?" The smile on Garrett's face was wide and unmoving as he stared Jonah down, completely bemused by the tie Jonah had been forced into wearing.
"Uh, no. He, he said it, it, it makes it easier for the two of us to play pranks?" It was an odd reason, but a very Glenn reason at that. Pulling Jonah's tie down, you then pushed it back up, tightening it and making it more presentable against his button up shirt.
"Well, on the bright side, he's now good and jazzed, yeah?" Amy offered in an attempt to aid Jonah's distress. He'd clearly achieved his goal, but to an extent that was beginning to appear uncomfortable for him.
"I just love the tie. It makes me so happy."
"Glad to hear that." Jonah thanked through a tightlipped smile.
"So are you his assistant now forever?" You asked, still fiddling with the cloud-brandished tie, your attention captivated by the the clouds against the blue background. Despite the fact you'd seen Glenn wear the tie almost every single day, it was different seeing it on Jonah; made you actually want to look at it.
"No, no no no, just like, until Kristen and I break up." Ouch. The thought of being Glenn's assistant day in and day out was unappealing, to you, to say the least, and if it was Jonah's job on the basis he was dating Kristen, you imagined it would only speed up the process.
"But what happens if you guys get married?" Amy teased, Jonah stilling at the thought of being stuck as Glenn's assistant forever.
"Oh, well, then well, then, uh I guess until Glenn dies."
"The tie just makes me so happy, man." Garrett was overly whimsical at this point, encapsulated by the tie Jonah adorned and how stupid he looked with it. "I mean, it's like you're a little, tiny businessman."
Jonah left the break room with a sigh, Garrett's smile even then taking a moment longer to fade. The blown up images were quick to be stuck against the whiteboard, red sharpie connecting them and connotations them with ideas and potential leads.
"So, are we allowed to ask why you look like that?" Garrett tested the waters, his question enough to have you flushed red in embarrassment.
"I didn't have sex in the warehouse, if that's what you're asking."
Garrett only stifled a laugh at your answer, trying not to bother you more then his first comment had. So far, with your now blown up images, and your 'second opinion' from the guys in warehouse, you'd been able to confirm practically nothing more. Except for one background feature throughout the photos that may have been your lead to solving everything.
"Okay, that tree outside the window it's a sycamore tree." Garrett had cross referenced the image and then cross referenced it again, double-checking and making sure that the image in fact was of a sycamore tree.
"Great, now all we need to know is where sycamore trees grow." Amy scrawled something down onto the image in her red sharpie, only adding to the chaos that the whiteboard was quickly becoming.
"Okay, sycamores they grow in the Southern parts of Missouri." You informed the group, having began your research on your phone as Garrett held the same laptop from earlier. Amy sped to write down the information, hoping it would give you a good precedent to find the girl you knew that you knew.
"Large swaths of the Eastern Seaboard. There's no sycamores on the West Coast." Garrett added, eyes scanning across a Wikipedia page detailing everything you could ever dream over about sycamore trees. "Except for Washington state. And there's a large group of them in Australia."
"We got nothing." Amy let out a defeated sigh, scribbling across the blown up image of the stupid tree in frustration. "I just don't get it. Where do we know her from?"
And just like that, the three of you were back to square one, with no information, and no knowledge of why you recognised this woman. With a deep sigh, you threw yourself back against the old couch cushions, resigning to the fact that you probably would never truly know who this woman was.
"I give up."
————————————————————————
The three of you had resigned in your search, having managed to waste the day away in search of your mysterious ex-employee in the comfort of the break room.
"I don't feel like it was a total waste of a day." You argued, breaking the silence that was shared between the three of you as you headed towards the store entrance, ready to go home. "I feel like we really learnt something along the way."
"And what would that be, doll?" Garrett asked, looking up at you confused by the proclamation. It wasn't difficult to argue that it had been a total waste of a day, so he was genuinely interested in what you possibly learned from the day.
"We'd make some mean stalkers, or like, secret agents." Garrett burst out laughing at the explanation, but nodded in agreement; the extents you had gone to today to try and solve the mystery of the woman in the photos was big, it was a surprise you'd come up with nothing.
"Even if we never find out who she is, isn't it nice to know that at least one person who worked here didn't end up on drugs, or in prison, or fused to a couch?" Amy mused, looking up at the ceiling of the store as she seemed far away in thought, dwelling on how you'd all spent your day.
"Mmm, the future is bright."
"Yep, I can smell the French press coffee now."
"Eh, why wait?" Garrett asked, stopping you and Amy as he turned to face you with a bright smile. "Don't we sell one of those French presses here in the store?"
Amy seemed to be struck with a genius thought, practically running away from you and Garrett in the direction of the French press display. Maybe she just really wanted that French press, in a sudden change of heart?
As you finally caught up with her, she pointed to the large display posters the rested behind the French presses, and practically every display within the store. "She's a Cloud 9 model."
"Yep." A whole days worth of work solved if you stood on the store floor for more then 10 seconds, the mysterious brunette woman you all recognised before you at last. "You still want to pick up the French press?"
"Nope."
"You know, I do think I have seen that woman naked, though." Garrett added as you left the display behind and headed back for the store entrance, the day finally over, and your mystery solved as well.
"You think you've seen everyone naked, Gare."
As you parted from Garrett and Amy in the parking lot, you bumped into a red faced Jonah, this time without the cloud covered tie, leaning against the side of the building.
"Oh, hey, J! Did you speak to Glenn?"
"Kind of, but I think he's okay with it. He's got Eugene now anyway so..." And so the tie had been passed on, without Jonah and Kristen breaking up, and without Glenn dying - an event you were sure would have to have one of said events as the beginning of the landslide.
"Ouch! Replaced already? I'd be hurt." You placed a hand over your heart in feigned pain, trying your best to eliciting some kind of laugh or smile after the seemingly shitty day he had had.
"Oh I am, deeply, devastatingly so." He cracked a smile at the remark, making you feel as though you could move on with your day without worry. Waving goodbye to Jonah, you made your wave over to the door-less car in the far corner of the parking lot, your favourite brunette sat inside.
"Hey, you. You ready to get out of here?" With a nod, Marcus started up the car, headed for you apartment where you planned on wasting the night away with some takeout, tv and your frog, Gerald. What a night it would be.
