I really love that the character art for the Ring of Brass is in the style of stained glass windows (edit: probably mosaics now that I think about it) and not the usual illustration of them. It makes our first introduction to these characters not their real faces but instead what looks like an artist’s depiction of historic figures. We don’t get to see them. They were gone before we even knew them because history has already happened. They’re already people who were alive and thriving before they ended, one way or another. And and, not only are they from the past, they’re from a past time so far removed from and unknown to current Exandria because that world was utterly destroyed, and I think the stained glass style really drives that part home.

Sure we have fanart but so far, our only official look at the Ring of Brass is a depiction that isn’t even them, just an approximation of them.

A kara (Punjabi: ਕੜਾ (Gurmukhi), کڑا (Shahmukhi) कड़ा (Devanagari)), is a steel or iron (sarb loh) bracelet, worn by all initiated Sikhs. It is one of the five kakars or 5Ks — external articles of faith — that identify a Sikh as dedicated to their religious order. The kara was instituted by the tenth Sikh guru Gobind Singh at the Baisakhi Amrit Sanskar in 1699. Guru Gobind Singh Ji explained:

He does not recognize anyone else except me, not even the bestowal of charities, performance of merciful acts, austerities and restraint on pilgrim-stations; the perfect light of the Lord illuminates his heart, then consider him as the immaculate Khalsa.

The kara is to constantly remind the Sikh disciple to do God's work, a constant reminder of the Sikh's mission on this earth and that he or she must carry out righteous and true deeds and actions, keeping with the advice given by the Guru. The Kara is a symbol of unbreakable attachment and commitment to God.[2] It is in the shape of a circle which has no beginning and no end, like the eternal nature of God. It is also a symbol of the Sikh brotherhood. As the Sikhs' holy text the Guru Granth Sahib says "In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds." Similarly, Bhagat Kabir reminds the Sikh to always keep one's consciousness with God: "With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord."

The basic kara is a simple unadorned steel bracelet, but other forms exist. It was historically used like a knuckle-duster for hand-to-hand combat. Battlefield variations include kara with spikes or sharp edges. Sikh soldiers of the British Indian army would settle disputes by competing in a form of boxing known as loh-musti (lit. iron fist) with a kara on one hand.

This is the calamity. This destroys exandria, this will change everything, the blast radius alone will destroy so much.

There are toys in the rubble all those years later when wizards dig into the ruins of places they’ve never understood, that they didn’t understand when they still flew all these years in the past.

We don’t need the truth now because the now is more important but wasn’t it the truth we needed in the first place? What would have changed with the truth? Better or worse. We don’t need the truth because we keep reaching.

From there to here. A few years ago I found myself at a creative crossroads: my skill level did not match my aspirations. Danny wasn’t thrilled with the whole ghost king bs. So he just doesn’t do it. The realm was just fine without pariah. Someone else can deal with the paperwork.

The biggest problem tho. The summonings.

No one will teach him how to say no to them. All wanting him to do his duty. He is barely passing his human classes. He refuses king lessons. He’ll take the summons over kingly duties.

Besides. Jazz has a solution.

At all times he is awake, thankfully summons don’t happen when he is asleep. A friend or Jazz is with him.

Armed with the Fenton anti-creep stick or another weapon. Ready to step over the summons circle smack down the cultist here and there and break the summoning circle. Then Danny just opens a portal and they dip.

John on the other hand is more stressed then normal. For some reason the new ghost king is letting any body summon him. Hell. They got reports that a slumber party summoned him.

Rather then ignore the summons. The new king has one of three teenagers deal with the problem. A goth armed with a wrist laser and brass knuckles, a guy with apparently a pda, and then the orange haired one with a flipping bat.

Now he had to summon the king and figure out what’s up.
