I guess this is still a controversial opinion in 2023, but… I think Micaiah is a good character. Like yeah I understand there are a lot of newer FE fans who are getting introduced to her through stuff like Engage and Heroes, but if you’ve been around as long as me you know that Micaiah probably was the “love or hate her” character of FE pre Edelgard/Rhea discourse.
I’m probably not gonna sway anyone who has already picked what side they fall on. I’m just gonna give you my opinion as one guy on the internet who has lived through a lot of discourse and what he thinks.
I think there are three primary complaints that people still pull out with her: She’s a Mary Sue, she’s dumb, and she’s a bad unit.
Now look, I’ll give you the bad unit. She’s a lord character that doesn’t have a lord build. She’s a light mage. Now Radiant Dawn is infamous for its difficulty and stat variation, so pairing an interesting idea of a lord who’s not a combative unit is an interesting idea on paper. But in execution it’s just really hard to play. So I get why people don’t like her as a unit.
The Mary Sue argument I’ve never been a fan of however. Yes, she has special healing powers, future sight, and all the apostle powers. But like… That’s kinda just what a lot of FE lord characters get? They get a special weapon only they can use, they have a magic blood that gives them power, they are secretly the descendant of some ultra important person or god and they’re destined for something. Like it’s kinda always just been there with FE lord characters. Hell, even non lord avatar characters like Robin and Byleth are just secretly reincarnations of gods. I think with Micaiah the issue comes in that she’s in the same game as Ike. Who was bucking the trend as a playable character that wasn’t a lord, wasn’t magically destined for anything, and isn’t secretly a child of some Uber royal. So Micaiah does feel like an oddity, but I’d argue this does create an interesting conflict of a traditional MC vs a non traditional one.
And finally the “she’s dumb” argument. So I understand that games are an interactive medium. And people value being able to make their own choices. But in the intersection of narrative and gameplay focused games, there are characters and events we don’t have control of. Micaiah makes a choice to liberate her homeland but doesn’t want to be its ruler. When Pelleas the son of Ashnard comes along and seems like a good guy, she gives it to him. This makes sense from Micaiah’s perspective-despite loving her country she doesn’t want to rule it. So when a seemingly good individual with recognized lineage comes in, she’s willing to give it up. But we the audience can see this is flawed, Sothe in game mentions this. And ultimately Micaiah’s choice is what brings Daein under Begnion. Where now she has to do things she doesn’t like in a desperate war.
I feel like in media there’s a criticism of “why don’t these characters do the logical thing that I would’ve done in this situation.” And I think games as an interactive medium enhance that as they want to make their own choices. But in a narrative a character doesn’t always need to make logical sense. A character can exist independent of what the player wants and takes actions that the viewer may disagree with. But an action a character takes that they may disagree with isn’t inherently a sign of bad writing. I personally believe that if it makes sense for the character within the context of the story, they are capable of making mistakes. And often times these flaws are what facilitates character development/introspection.
So when Micaiah makes her choice to not be ruler, it makes sense from the perspective of someone not interested in ruling. However, her choice has consequences, ultimately forcing her to do more of the things she was trying to avoid. And even if Pelleas lives or dies, Micaiah by the end of the story is now queen out of obligation rather than personal interest. The game at least seems self aware of audience would react to a flawed decision by having Sothe be the voice of obvious concern. But let’s for a moment think if she did the logical thing. Had Micaiah just held onto power at first and did nothing, there really wouldn’t be a plot for Daein or a journey for Micaiah. And it probably be a much more dull story.
Characters are allowed to be flawed and make mistakes. Make choices we don’t personally agree with. But the important thing is that flawed actions have actual consequences to them. And basically all of Daein suffering from someone who made a bad choice and is now living through it and ultimately has to rise to the position that she denied in the first place is a suitable consequence.
I think actual bad choices in narratives tend to be actions that have no real conflict as the plot needs to bend to make that choice make sense or justify a bad choice. Rather than an action having a tangible consequence that needs to be dealt with internally or externally.
So yes, Micaiah made a dumb call in Radiant Dawn. And it led to an interesting story and character development.
Now I do have issues with Micaiah: I don’t like that Yune ultimately takes over for most of part 4. I don’t like that there are no supports in RD so I had to wait till Engage to see how she may feel about certain characters. Yes, I think that she is ultimately eclipsed by the true MC of the game Ike. And yes, I don’t like her future sight. I have never liked precognition as a storytelling concept. I’m just not a fan of its inclusion.
That said, I don’t dislike Micaiah. I do actually find her an interesting character who was allowed to be flawed and not fall into the newer FE game trap of trying make her more likeable/actually secretly in the right the whole time. And maybe it’s weird that something like this discourse is still kinda around. But with stuff like Engage and talks FE4 reboot and just a general Tellius conversation still existing I felt like I might as well say where I stand on who used to be the most controversial FE character.

About Ivy and canon divergence in the latest Engage manga chapter…
So with the recent release of chapter 11 of the FE Engage manga, there has been complaints about how Ivy was handled and how the manga is diverging from the game’s events
Tumblr media
While I understand that different people are gonna have different interpretations of things, that still not gonna stop me from telling the people who are saying “ Ivy is being put through the damsel in distress treatment !1!! “ that YA’LL ARE BEING RIDICULOUS ❗️❗️❗️
Ivy is NOT and I repeat, NOT being put through THE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS TREATMENT
Ivy may have gotten arrested and defended by a MAN 👨 but that doesn’t necessarily mean she has been damsel-in-distressed™ 😭
NOT ONCE has Ivy been weak, pleaded for her life nor hid behind a man when she was in danger during the recent chapter.
I read a thread on Twitter where someone compiled their issues with the chapter and it mostly had to with the obvious-but-not-completely-in your-face Ivy booba fanservice (which is true ngl) and Alear’s gender 😭 bffr
During the chapter Ivy got taken down by the protag™ (like in the game) and moments before she got arrested, she pulled a valiant-sacrifice-of-a-true-leader move, and took the chance to make a leeway for her army and retainers to escape at the cost of herself.
Ivy being imprisoned isn’t something to make her look weak, but actually strong because she got herself into that place to protect her people.
OF COURSE SHE WAS GONNA GET PROSECUTED FOR HER ACTIONS AS SHE IS AN ENEMY THAT ATTACKED THE CASTLE 😭 AND THREATENED THE LIFE OF THE NEXT IN LINE HEIR ( SHE ALMOST BARBECUED DIAMANT YALL )
CONSEQUENCES OF ACTIONS™
And then comes in Alear. Y’all should know by now that Alear is a very kind hearted person and will defend/be kind to anyone as long as they see good in the person, even if the person doesn’t deserve it. And comparing his last fight with Nelucce, an Elusian army leader who used his own men as shields to protect himself, Ivy was different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is why Alear goes to visit her in the dungeons, delivering her food and tells her he doesn’t think she’s a bad person (despite her actions being unforgivable; his words not mine), pointing out that she allowed her allies to escape instead of herself and put himself on front of her to stop King Morion from killing her.
ALSO JUST TO POINT OUT AGAIN that Ivy didn’t plea for her life or looked to someone (or Alear or Diamant when he was pleading his father not to kill her ) for help when King Morion pointed his sword at her.
INSTEAD she stood strong and still at the face of death with her head held high and a cold front, like the true badass she is and just accepted her fate then and there ( pretty much going ‘ whatever 😒’ not only at death but even when Alear suggested she should be put on trial )
Tumblr media
SO IN CONCLUSION
NOT ONCE HAS IVY EVER BEEN A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS THAT’S JUST YALL DOING HER LIKE THAT 😤
(Besides, there’s still a lot of chapters left for Ivy to grow and be her cool and badass self)
And as for the manga diverging from the game’s events….
LET 👏🏽THEM 👏🏽COOK 👏🏽🗣
( I WANT TO SEE THE CHARACTERS PULL SOME ACE ATTORNEY SHIT NEXT CHAPTER)
I think the manga deviating from the source material is a good thing ACTUALLY!! as it gives its own identity and more time/space to explore the world building and characters of Elyos that the game could not
I mean we got to find out how long Clanne and Framme worked as stewards, that there exists a village around Lythos Castle, got to learn a bit of the nobles in Brodia, that there are some Fell Dragon worshippers in Brodia (and Elyos) and not just Elusia, more on Yunaka’s, Alcryst’s, Diamant’s and Ivy’s backstory/childhoods, etc., through the manga, so I’m happy and curious with the direction the manga is heading to.
Also Mama Lumera gets to live longer so LET HER HAVE THIS!!
Anyways, that’s all I got to say PEACE OUT BITCHES ✌🏽

Hey, hope you are doing well ! I had a question concerning one issue i’m dealing with.
I’m a 19yo ENFJ. In the ENFJ ego development article, i recognize myself when it’s say « you imagining being criticized ». I’ve noticed that when i’m sharing an opinion, when i’m expressing my feelings, or when i let someone know that i didn’t like something they did to me, i imagine them saying like the worst things to me and i get angry, defensive, as if they really did. Lately it has gotten a little better because when it starts, i’m able to tell myself that it is all in my mind, that i can’t tell that they will react like this, that it won’t help to assume the worse, that those people would never do me like that. But it’s still is really stressful and overwhelming. Any tips to manage it and understand it better ?
You seem to be referring to underlying self-esteem and self-worth issues that are common for FJs, so I suggest you read past posts. As explained in the Type Dev guide, the key to personality development lies in the auxiliary function. It provides introverted balance to extraverts (as well as extraverted balance to introverts).
To be an "immature" ENFJ basically means Fe+Se often run away into extremes because there is no introverted counterbalancing force. Such ENFJs only know to define people's identity or measure their worth through external appearances. As long as you can maintain the appearance of being a good person through obtaining momentary praise from others, then you're really a good person? As long as you can maintain the appearance of harmony by submitting to others and denying the disharmony you feel within, then your relationships are really strong? Proper auxiliary Ni development should help counter this superficial way of thinking.
Do you live your life as though you're always performing? Is the way you behave in front of others the entirety of who you are? Is there nothing inside you that exists independently from how others perceive you? If you're constantly allowing others to define and measure you, you will suffer from insecurity, since your feelings about yourself will shift with every little change in the social winds.
Developing introverted functions involves forming a stronger sense of self with a solid personal boundary, and possessing inner substance that others don't always see and can't touch. As such, your opinion about yourself should matter just as much, if not more than outside opinions. An important aspect of ego development is learning how to be an independent individual, to stand on your own two feet and stand up for yourself as necessary. Of course, you can learn to advocate for yourself in a way that produces as little harm to others as possible, e.g., by improving your communication skills or conflict resolution skills.
The purpose of Ni+Ti development is to connect with the whole truth. It sounds like the root of your problem is that you don't operate on truth but merely on insecurity. The consequence of caring more about surface appearances than underlying truth is that you won't know the truth of who you are, and your naivete makes you gullible and susceptible to any and every attempt by others to influence you (for good or bad). But when you value the truth above all else and know how to connect to the whole truth of who you are, the words of others will only matter to you to the extent that they are truthful.

Cancel Culture Is Real - Andrew Doyle
"Cancel culture doesn't exist!" is a mantra we often hear from its most obstinate practitioners.
In October 2022, the comedian and BBC presenter Graeme Norton suggested that a better term for cancel culture would be "accountability." But is it really fair to harass, defame and ruin people's lives simply for expressing commonly held opinions? What exactly are they being held accountable for? A much better synonym for cancel culture was coined by the singer Nick Cave. He said it was "mercy's antithesis."
Given that the very existence of cancel culture is so often denied, I thought I'd take this opportunity to outline precisely what is meant by cancel culture, and why it matters so much for those of us who still care about liberal values.
But let's begin with that thorny question of definitions. Now, most of us understand what cancel culture means. But perhaps it might be more instructive to consider what it isn't.
If someone criticizes you for something you've said or done, that's not cancel culture, that's free speech. If someone blocks you on social media, that's not cancel culture; someone has just decided you're not worth listening to and is exercising his or her freedom to ignore you. If you've not been invited to speak at a certain event, that's not cancel culture either; no one's entitled to a platform.
No, what cancel culture actually means is a form of public shaming or harassment, often for relatively minor mistakes or unfashionable opinions. It's the difference between criticizing someone for something they've said or done, or systematically attempting to see their reputation and livelihood obliterated. Cancel culture is not criticism, it's denunciation. it's contacting employers and demanding that people are fired because you don't agree with what they've said. It's spreading lies about them online so their future work prospects are diminished. In other words it's a hugely disproportionate and vindictive form of revenge, dressed up in the guise of virtue.
Here's a way to think about it: let's say a colleague has attempted a joke via email and maybe you feel a bit offended by it. Do you have a conversation with them in private and say, "look I think that was a bit misjudged, but I know that wasn't the intention so let's just move on and go for a pint." Or do you screenshot the offending email, post it online, invite all your followers to pile on to the person who wrote it, and denounce them publicly and then demand that the employer fires them for hateful conduct?
Now if you're opting for the latter, I've got some bad news for you. You you're not the good guy here.
"But free speech has consequences," the cancel culture skeptics cry. Well look, I'm inclined to agree. If a person says something stupid or offensive, they can expect criticism, ridicule, counterarguments, even protest. But if the consequences of free speech are that someone becomes the target of a campaign of public shaming and personal ruination, or worse still, that they're arrested for so-called "hate speech," then that's surely unjustifiable.
A common misconception is that cancel culture is simply a matter of holding the powerful to account. The failure of activists to cancel JK Rowling is often cited as evidence that cancel culture is a myth. But as one of the most successful authors of all time, Rowling cannot be cancelled, much to the irritation of those who sender abuse and threats on a daily basis. The vast majority of targets are those with limited means, who don't have the public profile or financial resources to protect themselves from such attacks. This is why the Free Speech Union has been invaluable, offering support to so many people who found themselves at the center of witch hunts.
Perhaps the most sinister aspect of cancel culture is that it has successfully generated a climate of fear, in which many are afraid to express even their most cherished convictions. Once a few high-profile individuals have been cancelled, this can be sufficient to discourage others from speaking out. The relentless and cruel attacks on JK Rowling are driven not by any serious belief that she'll suddenly become impoverished and unemployable. But rather by the desire to send a message to others who share her point of view. After all, who would want to be on the receiving end of such malicious and continual harassment.
And so, the full impact of cancel culture is pretty difficult to quantify. Like "no platforming," which is the practice carried out by universities of denying platforms to individuals with controversial views, most of the targets of cancel culture are pre-emptive. Just as speakers with heterodox views will never know that they've been deprived of an opportunity to speak on campus, many of us will have been passed over for promotions, or not hired at all, simply for the opinions we've expressed in conversation or on social media. We will never know who has been cancelled, because we can only ever be aware of those handful of instances that have been publicized.
So, while the press will report on pop singer Róisín Murphy's cancelled shows, a consequence of her entirely reasonable comments about the dangers of puberty blockers, the supermarket employee who loses his job for an offensive joke on Twitter is unlikely to garner the same attention.
Tumblr media
For all that, there have been numerous examples of cancellations that have made the national news. And the evidence of cancel culture is there for anyone who wishes to see it. And although these examples represent a fraction of the problem, they should be sufficient to disabuse those who cling to the comforting misapprehension that cancel culture is just a fabrication of right- wingers. Not least because so many of its victims have been on the left.
And so, to counter the pervasive and false narrative that cancel culture doesn't exist, I thought it might be helpful to provide an overview of just some of its victims. And now, needless to say, this list is by no means exhaustive.
So, in June 2015, the Nobel prizewinning biochemist Tim Hunt was forced to resign from his honorary position at University College London after a journalist misrepresented jokes he'd made at a conference in Seoul in South Korea.
Tumblr media
In August 2019, school teacher Christian Webb lost his job when it emerged that he'd been performing viral comedy rap videos under the pseudonym MC Devo in the mid 2000s.
Tumblr media
In December 2021, choreographer Rosie Kay was compelled to resign from her own dance company after investigation processes began because she expressed her gender-critical views at a gathering with dancers in her own home. And although she had cooked them a meal and invited the company to her house, some of those present took it upon themselves to report her to the board.
Tumblr media
In December 2018, tax expert Maya Forstater lost her job for saying that women are female and human beings cannot change sex. The decision of the tribunal was initially upheld, so she was forced to take the case to the High Court, which eventually ruled that gender-critical beliefs are protected by law.
Tumblr media
The comedy writer Graham Linehan has been unable to work in the comedy industry for six years due to his gender-critical beliefs. His musical adaptation of his hit sitcom "Father Ted" has been halted by the rights owners, Hat Trick Productions, who had offered Linehan a substantial sum of money to have his name removed from the project.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2018, barrister Allison Bailey, a lesbian with a long history of gay activism, raised concerns about her chamber's decision to join Stonewall's "Diversity Champions" program due to its uncritical stance on gender self-identification. For raising these concerns, she was labeled as "transphobic" by Garden Court Chambers, who publicly announced that Bailey was under investigation. Bailey later won a court case for discrimination.
Tumblr media
In 2018, the children's author Rachel Rooney published a book called "My Body is Me," which challenged sexist stereotypes and promoted a positive self-image for children. It was branded as "transphobic" and Rooney was subjected to a campaign of harassment by figures in the publishing industry. Some bookshops capitulated to activists and stopped stalking her work, and her publisher told her to stop expressing her opinions on the subject of gender.
Tumblr media
In June 2023, it was reported that Sibyl Ruth, an editor at Cornerstones literary consultancy, was dropped because of her gender-critical views. Following an employment tribunal she received an apology and substantial damages.
Tumblr media
In October 2023, Newcastle United fan Lindsay Smith was banned from the football club stadium for three seasons for her belief that sex is immutable, and that men shouldn't have access to women's changing rooms or compete in women's sports. In addition to her ban, she was investigated by a secret unit at the Premier League, who created a dossier on what they described as their "target." They attempted to find a home address, they assessed photographs from her social media accounts, and they even downloaded images in which Smith could be seen walking a dog.
Tumblr media
Dr. Neil Thin experienced what he described as a devastating couple of years when he was falsely accused of racism by student activists. Thin is a senior lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh, and he had criticized a conference called "Resisting Whiteness" because it offered racially segregated spaces. He also objected to the renaming of the David Hume Tower as 40 George Square. It had been renamed on the grounds that Hume had written some passages in an essay in 1753 that would today be deemed offensive. Thin stepped back from teaching while an investigation was underway and was eventually exonerated in September 2021.
Tumblr media
Also in 2021, the actor James Dreyfus was dropped from the audio range of Doctor Who stories for signing a letter to Stonewall calling for an open and respectful debate on the subject of gender identity ideology and its impact on the rights of women and gay people. The company not only dropped him but erased his episodes from a compilation in which he was meant to be featured.
Tumblr media
In July 2020, the children's author Gillian Philip was dropped by her publisher for tweeting in support of JK Rowling. She's since retrained as a trucker and has written that the haulage industry is far more supportive and inclusive, and a lot less misogynistic, than the world of children's writing.
Tumblr media
Criminology Professor Jo Phoenix was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after a campaign of harassment by colleagues after she co-founded a gender-critical research network. In early 2024, she won her constructive dismissal case against the Open University.
Tumblr media
In November 2021, social worker Rachel Meade was sanctioned by her employer Social Work England because of gender-critical posts she had shared and liked on Facebook. This led to her being suspended on charges of gross misconduct by Westminster City Council. Meade later won her claim for discrimination against her employer and the judge ruled that the disciplinary procedure amounted to harassment.
Tumblr media
In June 2020, Nick Buckley, the founder of charity organization Mancunian Way, was ousted for criticizing the radical politics of the Black Lives Matter movement, most notably its calls to defund the police and abolish capitalism.
Tumblr media
In August 2020, Sasha White, an assistant at the Tobias Literary Agency in New York, was fired after a campaign by trans activists who took offense at statements posted on her Twitter account expressing her view that gender neutral pronouns were unhelpful to the feminist cause.
Tumblr media
In January 2020, veteran television presenter Alastair Stewart was forced to resign after tweeting a quotation from Shakespeare which included the phrase, "an angry ape." This was misinterpreted as racist because he was replying to a black Twitter, user even though it was a phrase he had used previously in conversation with white people.
Tumblr media
In April 2019, philosopher Roger Scrutin was sacked as housing adviser to the Conservative government as part of the "Building Better, Building Beautiful" commission. And this was after a journalist at the New Statesman doctored his statement in an interview in order to make them appear racist.
Tumblr media
In June 2019, Asda Supermarket worker Brian Leech was fired after sharing a video online by the comedian Billy Connelly which mocked Islamic suicide bombers, even though the source of the offending excerpt was from a DVD sold by the company that employed him. He was later reinstated following an outcry.
Tumblr media
In June 2019, BBC Books removed the writer Gareth Roberts from a Doctor Who short story anthology because he expressed his view that the trans activist movement reinforces outdated gender stereotypes.
Tumblr media
In June 2021, the textile artist Jess de Wahls had her artwork removed from sale in the Royal Academy gift shop, having already been driven out of her hairdressing salon in the Soho theater. Simply for her gender-critical opinions. She was bombarded on Twitter with vitriolic messages and calls for her to commit suicide.
Tumblr media
In June 2021, it was reported that the Reverend Dr Bernard Randall, a school chaplain at Trent College in Derbyshire had been reported to Prevent, that's the government's anti-terrorism program, and this was because he delivered a sermon on why it was reasonable to challenge ideological viewpoints. And this was in response to a training session that he'd been obliged to attend in which school staff were told to chant "smash heteronormativity."
Tumblr media
In June 2021, the cricketer Ollie Robinson was banned from playing for eight months due to offensive tweets that he posted as a teenager. In addition to the ban from the Cricket Discipline Commission, he was fined £3,200 and was compelled to participate in anti-discrimination training.
Tumblr media
In June 2021, it was reported that law student Lisa Keogh had been investigated by authorities at Abertay University in Scotland for saying that "women have vaginas." Although she was cleared, she described the two-month investigation as needlessly cruel given that it coincided with her final examination period.
Tumblr media
In October 2021, the philosopher Kathleen Stock resigned from the University of Sussex following a campaign of abuse and harassment from student activists who claimed that her very presence excludes and endangers trans people.
Tumblr media
Ann Henderson, rector of Edinburg University until February 2021, was falsely smeared by activists as "transphobic" and antisemitic and not fit to hold office simply for tweeting about a meeting at the House of Commons on proposed reforms to the Gender Recognition Act. She experienced a vicious campaign in which the University refused to tackle her abusers.
Tumblr media
So that's just a sample of some of the victims of cancel culture.
And if it's true that cancel culture isn't real, it's got a hell of a lot of casualties.
==
They know it's real, because they think it's good.
Until it comes for them.

May I ask for Dr. Edward Richtofen(Primis) with prompt 4,26, and 41?
Richtofen my beloved....
My prompt list was used for this!
Surprise, surprise, I felt out of ideas so I decided to base this off my Self-Aware! Richtofen with Player! Darling where Darling left the game, but Richtofen can't accept that.
So sorry this took so long/isn't what you wanted :(
Yandere! Primis Richtofen Prompts 4, 26, 41
"My heart belongs to you, I'll adore anything you do to it."
"Look! We're bonding, just the two of us!"
"I made this mark on myself to show you how much I love you!"
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Self-harm, Obsession, Reality warping, Self-Aware game character, Implied past intimacy, Mind Break on Yandere's part, Possessive behavior, Blood, Forced kissing, Delusional behavior, Forced relationship.
Tumblr media
He was going insane.... He had met a being from another realm, fell in love, then lost them all in a few weeks. Richtofen had lost you, even after all you did together.
It all started with a little feeling, he knew something was there. Then you came crashing into his world. With that, you also managed to worm your way into his heart once the suspicion died down.
He was obsessive about you. He knows he has a mission to do, yet he keeps remembering how you felt. He remembers the kiss and what followed after....
Then once you found a way to leave you jumped at it. He was stunned when you gave him one last hug, one he didn't want to let go of, and started towards the opened portal. He felt... desperation.
"Take me with you!"
He remembers crying out to you.
"I can't live without you!"
You kept saying you couldn't live here with him. That you cared for him... yet had to go home. You had different realms.
His love was unnatural.
He still... felt you sometimes. Still guiding him like a guardian angel. It hurt him so much that he can't feel your warmth fully.
With the ore affecting his brain and the fact he met you, he became destructive to mostly himself.... His team had noticed blood dripping down his arm. In an attempt to heal him, they realize what he's done.
"What the HELL, Richtofen?"
On his arm, once the blood was wiped clean, was letters scratched into his skin. Letters of your name. His deity... his player.
"I don't ever want to forget them. They will be my only love. I need to see them again."
To see you again was his motivation. He already had the ability to go to other realms. Surely, with research and practice, he could see yours.
He bets your realm is beautiful. He bets it's peaceful without the undead breathing down your neck. He's just... excited to be with you again.
Richtofen was only a game character to you. A ball of code only meant to exist in a game. It turns out he may be more than that.
He felt his mind rotting while he obsessively focused on more and more research. He's told over and over to forget about it. He can't.
Not when he knows you're out there.
By this time, you had moved on from Call of Duty Black Ops 3. The fact he can't feel your presence only stresses him more. He presses on... looking for a breakthrough.
Then there's a blinding light... a portal...
And a Richtofen on his hands and knees in front of your PC/TV.
Confusion fills the air, the man looking around the room with caution. There's a familiar scream that makes him turn his head. Only to see you in the doorway, realizing the consequences of your actions.
"Beloved-"
"No...."
"You need to go back-"
"I've been trying to see you again! I managed to find you!"
The bloodied man in front of you steps closer, laughing to himself.
"Go back...? Now why would I go back?"
Your gaze flicks to his scarred arm. Your name is read on it, making your eyes widen. Richtofen smiles when he sees what you're seeing.
"I made this mark on myself to show you how much I love you!"
He grips your shoulders, you swore he could hear your heart beat. Any chance this could be a dream is snuffed out when he leans in to kiss your lips softly. The feeling of facial hair tickling your skin is too familiar... too real.
"My heart belongs to you, I'll adore anything you do to it."
Richtofen preaches, eyes fixated only on yours.
"Does this now show how we're fated? I'd travel across time and space to find you. I said I wanted to come with you... after months, I've done it."
He strokes your cheek like you're a scared animal. Richtofen then slowly guides you to the nearest seat and sits by you, not once letting you go. It's as if he's scared to lose you again.
"I'm not going anywhere now... so, dear, may you show me how your realm works?"
His question is soft, as if he's not covered in blood. As if he's not strapped with an arsenal.... As if he's not from a VIDEO GAME-
Shuttering, you manage to form a response.
"S-Shower... then we'll talk-"
The idea of him coming here was not too out of this world. You went to a video game. How could he not come to your world?
The issue was getting him back... if you could.
Until you could find that out, you needed to disguise him. Richtofen looked like he was straight out of WWII. It would look weird nowadays, obviously.
Still trying to get your bearings, you convince Richtofen to give you his sizes and give him a modern set of clothes from a store. He didn't seem to mind. It was the start of his new life with you.
One with way less danger and undead.
It felt so weird to you. Awkward, even... based on what you two did within his world. After that, he was convinced you two were soulmates bound to one another.
You'd feel his arms around you tightly. You even catch him kissing you, wishing for something similar to what you did before. Before you thought of the consequence it would have to do such a thing with a video game character....
Something so simple comes with a price.
"Look! We're bonding, just the two of us!"
Richtofen cheers to you, smiling like a child. He'd be so excited just to sit beside you or gaze at your very modern TV. It was as though he went to the future.
He did way more than just that.
Each kiss and hug felt strange. It was all very real, hell the modern clothes make him look like he's from around here. But you know his origins.
Not only that... but he's under the impression you're his and he's yours. He thinks your dating. As a result... it gets hard to explain to others.
He's from a fictional universe yet somehow in yours.
Your shock had ended after you were thrown into his.
He's possessive, glaring at anyone else around you. You hear him mumble he hates the attention you're getting. His new ideal life is to be alone, with you, in your home. A house spouse, if you will.
If anyone comments on your "boyfriend's" similarities to Richtofen from COD, you are quick to try and excuse it.
It's just a funny coincidence! You harshly nudge Richtofen when he tries to say he is who they think he is. Then you're dragging him off, saying you'll talk to them later!
Your situation becomes increasingly hard to manage. Far as you know, you're the only one who has this problem. The fact he's obsessive, trailing the name on his arm affectionately, scares you more.
How do you solve this?
In response to your distant mind, he tries to soothe you. You need to stop worrying. He just wishes to adore you like he did before.
You used to think the company is okay. Yet fear sinks back in rather quickly. You know you have to fix this.
You just have no idea where to start...
Or if you even can.
"Dear... you still love me like you used to, right?"

Sociotype Profiles — IEI
Ego
Leading Ni
IEIs can be characterised by a continuous search for meaning and purpose in their lives and the world in general. With a tendency to detach from daily affairs, they enter a state of deep self-reflection, looking back through their recollections and looking ahead to the probable future which they feel humanity is heading towards. IEIs tend to possess a dissatisfaction with the superficiality of daily existence, instead believing in some greater calling that must be connected with and understood before being ultimately accepted. Frequently, an IEI will be disposed towards the wanderings of their imagination, running memories through their mind again and again to fathom the steps of their personal journey. IEIs may also try to look ahead and envision a shared utopia for themselves and those they identify with. This continual search results in a tendency of these types to philosophise on the reason for our existence, why we are here and what everything is leading up to. The focus on a single, teleological end directs much of their behaviour, with them having a strong, but often indescribable, feeling of how significant events of the present might help to shape future developments. Similarly, they will often place their actions in terms of their role in the bigger picture, adjusting their behaviour in a way serves meaningful ends. At each point, the journey is set out and IEIs seek to influence themselves and others into staying on track. Often such an approach results in a vague knowing of the importance or urgency of a moment and its relation to future developments. This allows them to know not just when it is urgent to act, but also when an outcome, whether desired or not, is inevitable.
Creative Fe
Usually, IEIs tend to focus on the interpersonal, creating the sense of not only their personal fate but also a shared narrative for others to feel part of. Frequently, they will seek to express their insights to people, often through some art form such as music or writing, or through some political or humanitarian outlet. Often there is an alternative, dark or gothic feel to such expression, providing a sense of the fantastical but which to them feels more real than cheesy cliché. Through such approaches, they seek to inspire others and will derive a strong sense of belonging and identification with those groups and congregations who openly support them in their endeavours. IEIs look ahead to future goals and higher causes and as such, they want to persuade others to join in with achieving these goals. To this end, IEIs can motivate and encourage others with romanticised language, better conveying the specialness and importance of such developments and making people want to assist. This is not to say that all IEIs are very expressive of their emotional states in conversation, as many can be more solemn or taciturn. However, when speaking or writing, the poetic use of language can give them away. Furthermore, they tend to be socially diplomatic and subtly charismatic, adapting themselves to the interlocutor in conversation and even mirroring their needs. In this way, they can be very likeable, often giving the impression that they are on the side of whoever they are talking to and finding the right thing to say that stimulates passion without causing offence. This approach rarely stands out in public settings, but is rather more subtle and supportive than dominant, allowing them to operate smoothly in the background of a community and make no enemies, often surviving any major social upheavals. Rather than drive the group conversation, they will likely focus on individuals, looking to draw them back into the fold. IEIs do well at looking ahead to see social consequences, having a good idea how to mediate and mitigate likely conflicts that would cause a schism in a group or prevent the greater goal from being achieved.
Super-Ego
Vulnerable Te
IEIs are given to heartfelt deliveries on their musings and thoughts. Such an approach is not well suited to demands for hard empirical evidence. As such, the narratives given by IEIs can come across as mystical and lacking in factual accuracy or any clear grounding. When they have a clear vision for what is going to happen in the long run, they can feel frustrated when circumstantial facts of the present contradict what they know inside. When presented with new factual information, the IEI will likely discard the information unless it can be shown to be consistent with other sources and able to be tied into a coherent ideology. Otherwise, the IEI will feel quickly confused by conflicting and changing sources of data and not know which to choose. It is often the case that an IEI can talk or write for a long time on their musings, what they think about the world, etc., without actually saying anything factually informative. IEIs tend to strongly dislike feeling quizzed and will try to avoid situations where they may be shown by others to lack knowledge in an important area. IEIs particularly dislike humdrum practical tasks where they can be easily shown to be inept and incapable of doing things properly. When faced with such chores, they will quickly feel the mental and physical strain, despairing over a messy house or unkept area that they are required to clean up but have no idea where to begin. IEIs tend to be clumsy and not so good at carrying out tasks efficiently or particularly well. Often they may seek distraction from their difficulty with carrying out procedure through appeals to humour, proclaiming their 'uselessness' as an endearing trait. However, should a person try to offer advice or instruction in how to do something better, they may be defensive or insulted, feeling that they are being condescended to or treated like an idiot. Additionally will quickly tire of long, dry, factual explanations for how things work, finding such advice not only condescending but also boring and unimportant in the greater scheme of things. IEIs find it naturally hard to motivate themselves and so little is more discouraging to them than being told what they are finally attempting to do is being done wrong.
Role Si
To an extent, IEIs can be in tune with the needs of their body and tend to look after themselves well, cultivating a good aesthetic, eating well, dressing appropriately and in general managing to make themselves appear welcoming and appeasing to others. Due to their tendency towards self-reflection, IEIs do not tend to place many demands on their bodies, allowing them to stay in a good physical state. They may even be able to relax and enjoy the moment in the company of their friends. IEIs tend to be naturally diplomatic and able to soothe tensions between people in the moment, should they feel the conflict is petty or not serving some greater goal. However, IEIs may just as easily cause conflict if they feel the peace of the environment is bringing stagnancy and a lack of meaningful development. Furthermore, the imagined, remembered or predicted worlds of the IEI can be filled with physical and aesthetic beauty, often of a slightly ethereal or unnerving nature to contrast with the dullness of present existence. However, at heart, IEIs are ascetics and do not see much value in the simplicity of the day to day. They are fundamentally dissatisfied with the world as it currently is, yearning for something more profound to give themselves to. Relaxation is often an anathema to fulfilling higher goals, and the IEI may look to artistic states of suffering as being more preferable for this reason. IEIs will see daily tasks as mundane and pointless unless it serves some higher purpose, lacking the crucial elements that contribute to the big picture. As a result, IEIs prefer not to indulge in such distractions, instead needing to relate it in some way to their purpose. IEIs instead seek out environments of exciting, more intense activity, where under great pressure, action needs to be taken with no time for leisurely delay. By doing so, IEIs are able to feel that they are getting somewhere, rather than stuck in the lazy temptations of the present.
Super-Id
Mobilizing Ti
IEIs tend to possess a strong desire to prove their intellect to others, and often approach this need in trying to form a consistent, clear understanding of themselves and the world they occupy. With a naturally fluid and ever-changing perception of events, it is common for an IEI to adopt an ideology or credo that outlines the principles they believe in, providing needed structure to their vision and beliefs. Sometimes, this can lead to fanaticism, with an obsession on their chosen ideology at the expense of real needs and common sense. Often drawn to philosophy and structures of thought, IEIs can spend a lot of time trying to figure out their priorities in life and the standards for them to live by. When deciding on these standards, they can become rather stubborn and resist challenges to their logic, instead being more open to those who can validate or add to their understanding and bring some of the finer points into clarity. Despite this stubbornness, the IEI may decide not to make their disagreement obvious to others, sometimes giving the impression of agreement. However, they can give way if exposed to superior or flawless reasoning. They will only appreciate structural or principle-based logic, rather than any practical 'how-to' advice. This brings a sense of integrity in their ideals, where, despite being agreeable and adaptable, the IEI maintains a sense of their core principles.
Suggestive Se
The introspective nature of IEIs leaves them quite unaware of the events happening to them in the present. Naturally caught up in their thoughts and reflections, IEIs often have a clearer view of vague future events than what is in front of their face. This causes IEIs to be very indecisive in their daily behaviour, knowing the outcome they are hoping for, but lacking the presence to take needed action and ensure such an outcome. The paralysis can be so severe that IEIs can come across as weak wallflowers, or people who bend too easily to higher authority. However, in order to reach desired outcomes, IEIs feel that reality has to be confronted and pushed onto the right path. As a result, IEIs tend to be attracted to those with strength of will, who have the energy to make things happen. IEIs may make subtle appeals to their emotions and sense of urgency when they feel it is the right time to act, causing the more powerful to fight in their stead. Alternatively, many IEIs will seek to be less passive, looking to strong, wilful people as examples that can inspire them to act, if only for a limited duration. Lacking a connection to the reality of the situation, IEIs can appreciate a firm shake by the shoulders to ground them and an authoritative tone to tell them how things really are. Indeed, no other type can maintain both a compassion for the suffering of the underdog, and a reverence for the brutality of the strong, as the IEI.
Id
Ignoring Ne
With their focus on a singular, underlying purpose, the IEI has little interest in speculating or brainstorming multiple possibilities. Although they are perfectly capable of considering multiple alternatives, they choose not to unless it is absolutely necessary to the situation. After all, considering back-ups or alternatives to the main vision suggests that the predicted outcome may be wrong, and would only lead to confusion and dissolution of resolve. Rather than dip into a variety of areas and interests, IEIs prefer to focus on a particular area that they feel brings personal meaning to their existence and will devote themselves to that area. However, they may be more happy exploring a range of areas within their scope of devotion if that somehow adds to the meaning of their activity. For them, what could possibly happen is unimportant and meaningless in comparison to the destiny that will happen, with their approach being to actually limit the number of possibilities available and ensure the desired outcome. For an IEI, the possibilities often serve as distractions from the right path and as such, possess no merit.
Demonstrative Fi
IEIs tend to operate on a one-on-one basis, being able to form intense, emotional connections with individuals. Furthermore, they have a good sense of people and tend to be able to make the right friends in the right situations. Nevertheless, IEIs are not so interested in character judgement and the formation of close bonds for its own sake. Instead of keeping good people close and bad people at a distance, IEIs prefer to assess whether a person's destiny is tied with their own and others, creating long term relationships with those that do. The purpose for this is less directed towards the individual's worth in relation to the IEI, but rather to pull compatible individuals together into a circle of belonging and camaraderie. Rather than judging the inner character of an individual, IEIs will instead look to see if a person belongs within their desired circle, being able to subtly draw the right people in and leading out those they feel do not belong. In this way, once they have the people they feel they need, they are less inclined to seek other people out to get to know. With those who they feel belong, IEIs wish to close the gap and connect profoundly and authentically, although successfully closing the gap often requires a clear demonstration of interest and desire from the other person. In this way, the IEI attempts to experience intensity of feeling and longing in a company of significant others, rather than deciding whether a particular person is appropriate to experience such feelings with. Within such circles of belonging, the IEI is able to feel that something momentous and important will come to pass.

The more I age, the more my urge to stay away from fandom culture (social media in general to be honest) grows. The news of Song Joong-ki's relationship just once again confirmed my belief that being chronically online makes you a bitter loser. And as I am not entirely immune to internet culture either, I will be participating in this unnecessary conversation as well.
I will start by saying it was lovely to see a Korean celeb (male) not going to the extremes to hide their relationship. Also unexpected considering how publicised his last relationship was. Unsurpsingly, the entire conversation once again head back to his divorce a few years back. I agree with the sentiment that Song Hye-kyo was indeed the victim of misogyny by Sjk's rabid fanbase, the general public and the media during that brief period. I also believe the reaction of k-netz and media would have been much nastier if it was Shk dating a foreigner. What no one seems to be talking about is the thinly-vield misogynist comments thrown at his current girlfriend (because everyone is an active participant in this).
And this vile behavior was not exhibited by the 'culturally conservative' Korean general public but the progressive and enlightened international side of k-drama community(both his fans and non-fans included). I went to see the reaction of stan twitter once the news broke and it was largely negative and deranged to my unsurprise. Everyone kept expressing their disgust because he was dating a 'white woman'. Comments talking about how they wished he had dated a 'poc black/brown queen' or wanting to see 'poc representation' in the dating lives of Korean male celebs. This bizarre pattern of wanting non-black/brown men to date black/brown woman isn't just limited to the k-community. I have noticed white male celebs being put on a pedestal everytime they date a black/brown woman. This reeks of internal insecurity (and racism) that can only be healed if men outside your own race find you attractive. Why do you need Korean oppas to date your race for your existence and beauty to be validated anyway? And this comes all the way back to the 'y/n' part of fandom culture. If Sjk has dated a poc woman, this would have given (wishful)validation to his poc fans that they might have a chance too. And this has manifested in his fangirls by putting themselves against her. The same old misogynist tantrums thrown by fangirls in a parasocial relationship with their oppa: but this time under the more sophisticated banner of 'hating on a white woman'. To his 'GROWN' International female fans: beyond pathetic that you are unconsciously acting as the same whiny Korean 'oppa is mine' fans that start acting like immature teenagers everytime their oppa is spotted next to a woman (and that you so condemn a lot). To the others on stan twitter commenting about how 'Sjk degraded from THE Song Hye-kyo to a white woman': how very feminist of you to defend Shk from misogyny by indulging in more misogny. All of this is a consequence of hive mentality and echo chambers that come with being terminally online. These people are so deluded by the anonymity of social media, it doesn't even occur to them that the words they put on the internet can be a reflection of their deeply-held prejudices.
Might as well share some more random thoughts while I'm at it. His girlfriend is apparently half-Columbian and has more melanin in her skin than all his previous (korean)co-stars combined. This leads me to think some of the bitterness expressed by stan twitter is due to Sjk not dating one of their fave unnies(talking about delusional shippers here). And that woman is a gorgeous one and no less deserving of their oppa than a Korean beauty. Dismissing her appearance as bland and white because she is white doesn't take away from the fact you are still degrading a woman to uphold a man. Some of the commenters talking about this giving hope to middle-aged white Koreaboos need a bit of self-reflection. Having a fetish for Korean men isn't just limited to white women. Non-East Asian are very much Koreaboos. Ask anyone on the street and they might say the one with a social media account dedicated to a Korean male celeb is more appropriate for the term 'Koreaboo'. And not the woman who has no previous history with Korea or Korean men. Might I also add she is only a year older than Sjk so calling her middle-aged implying an older woman /younger man relationship is very weird and ageist.
All of this aside, the entire discourse around the experience of POC women has always seemed shallow and exhausting to me. The blanket term 'POC' itself is very vague and doesn't even remotely come close to describing non-white women. My experience as a South-Asian brown woman would be as alien to a black/East-Asian woman as it would be to a white woman. I have never felt represented by the depiction of black/East-Asian women in global mainstream culture.

AO3 Tag Game Thing
Tagged by @astoriacolumnstaircase. Thank you!
How many fandoms have you written for?
Ever? I mean my first ever was a Sound of Music sequel that I wrote in kindergarten. But if you mean like posted online, five. Chronologically: Phantom of the Opera, BloodRayne, Final Fantasy X, Fire Emblem Fates, and Critical Role. On AO3 right now though I only have FE and CR because some of those were before I came to AO3 and I also have a(n admittedly bad) habit of destroying old or unfinished works that I don’t think I’m going to come back to. :\ (RIP The Heretic’s Daughter, you just never found your audience.)
What’s your favorite fic on your Ao3?
The one I’m most excited about is A Long Road Home, although it’s a comic that I’m crossposting to there from tumblr. Definitely the one that’s taking the highest level of dedication and the one with upcoming plot developments that I’m most eager to get to!! I’ve been really happy about how kindly it’s been received by the fandom and how many people seem to be enjoying it. I am too.
Although I’ve kind of moved on from the fandom I’m still pretty proud of Nohrian Lullaby, because it’s a complete novel (with illustrations!). While it stands on its own it was however the first part of a planned trilogy but now that I’ve gotten into Critical Role I think I’d have a hard time going back to it, haha. It was Fire Emblem’s voice cast that led me to CR but now that I’ve gotten to know them all I feel like I’d have a hard time approaching e.g. King Garon and Queen Mikoto with the solemnity they have in the game knowing now what Travis and Marisha are like at the table. XD
Have you posted elsewhere? If yes, which of those fics is your favorite?
I’m most proud of Guardian (another comic) because that was a huge undertaking and in order to do it I had to forcibly overcome the SEVERE executive dysfunction that had been hindering me for my entire life. (Absolutely trashed my school performance and for some reason none of the adults around me seemed to think that this might be a symptom of a larger problem? I was just repeatedly told “But you’re smart! You just need to work harder!” and could not figure out why I just couldn’t.) But when I started working on that and was kind of floundering at the beginning having a hard time keeping up with it, I told myself that if I wanted to see it exist in the world, then I had to be the one to create it, and basically brute-forced myself out of a lifetime habit of destructive procrastination. I taught myself to break a huge task (200+ page comic) into smaller tasks (one page at a time) and set a schedule to make that workable (day one sketch, day two lineart, and so on). And now I sincerely don’t allow myself to procrastinate anymore. If I’m given a task to do I know to get it done ASAP before it starts to seem unconquerably huge and that is honestly as much as an accomplishment as the comic itself. It’s still a struggle but it has improved the quality of my life by a lot. (Still have not received diagnosis or treatment for whatever is causing the executive dysfunction! But at least I’ve managed to wrestle that beast to the ground and am continuing to hold it there.)
How many bookmarks do you have on AO3?
I only recently figured out what they are for, haha, so 6.
How many unread comments do you have?
None! See the above procrastination thing. I have already replied to them all. :)
Any subscriptions?
About as many as the bookmarks. Currently I’m most looking forward to updates from Consequences of a Bleeding Heart and The Madness from the Salt. :D
Any favorite tags?
Laudna & Imogen Temult, Laudna/Imogen Temult, and within those I tend to comb through for AUs with an interesting premise. (Judging by my bookmarks my definition of “interesting” seems to trend towards “vampires” haha.)
I don’t know if she’s still active on tumblr but I’m gonna tag @auronlu bc she has had a very respectable fic writing career! (Feel free to ignore this, however.)

We aren't the sexist ones. Edelstands are, and we can't let them run this stupid narrative of lies. We know Edelgard was written for men, by men, to be bought by men. Her fans like her because she's cute, okay, they pretend to be progressive or agree with her is just adhoc excuses to justify them liking the small uwu girl who's afraid of rats, draws pictures of MALE Byleth, and is just a pawn of Thales, a MAN. They're misogynists for hating Rhea a woman with actual autonomy unlike their waifu.
Eh,
I wouldn't call people misogynists for not liking a female character, but I remember someone received a lot of flak earlier this year (... I think?) posting about Supreme Leader's fate in AG and ending with Supreme Puppet, and, well...
I also really don't like it when a character I like is only seen as waifu-material/fanservice by the devs or the company who makes games and merchandising involving said character - and if everyone was hit with the moe hammer and the "u must luf the self-insert" rule, Supreme Leader as a character is a basic example of what not to do.
We're told and we saw a character who is hell-bent on following her path, always moving forwards, no matter the consequences, to reach her goal -
But in Tru Piss, she put her war on hold because "she was so sad uwu when u disappeared :'("
And that thing only exists in this route, the route you can access if you already have a certain fondness (or are supposed to!) for the character. It's like we have two Supreme Leaders, one existing for Fodlan and the rest of the verse, the Red Emperor with earl grey ; and the one meant for the player, with the uwu rat scene, the drawings, the war on hold, etc etc. And as annoying as it is, the Fodlan games were designed around this, what if the Red Emperor was the waifu du jour, rather, waifu of the verse?
The Cipher cards already heavily implied what Supreme Leader was, for IS, we have the nightgown card and the naked Supreme Leader in the Hegemon card, and I've been looking carefuly at FE Cipher, I don't see anything remotely similar for the other characters from the same verse...
And then, we have Nopes, Supreme Leader ditches her commanding and badass imperial clothes and garb for a sailor fuku. We have a panty shot of Supreme Puppet in AG's finale - on top of all the implications Supreme Leader reverting to a 12 years old imply.
As annoying as it is, Supreme Leader seems to have been designed by the guy who invented "Cow-milla", and I understand some of her fans being pissed at how IS/KT/whoever else wasted her character to make her pander to the player - who is always assumed to be male - however, the double standard of some devoted fans is kind of jarring, but it's something to be expected now, nearly 4 years after this game's release.
I still find it ultra ironic how some of the most ardent defenders of the "she was manipulated by Uncle who fed her lies etc etc had to start her war etc etc" reject AG because it removes her agency, when they eluded it in earlier fandom discussions to make a general point about "my fave would never" -
But I already said something about double standard lol

I'm curious, what would your ideal FE be?
And do you have any particular FE concepts in mind?
Ooh thanks pal this was really fun to think about 👀
So, I don’t think it’s what you meant, but my ideal FE game would be a spin off game of only the Deliverance getting into lighthearted shenanigans after the war. There’s enough dungeon exploration and dealing with the remainder of monsters/terrors left by Duma to keep the battles consistent, but it’s mostly just cute supports and everyone having a good time :’)
And there is one concept idea I’ve been toying around with a bit – it’s basically the dual-path style of echoes meets time travel without any actual time travel that hurts your brain lol
Tracking the Valentia/Valm similarities between fe13/15 brought me so much joy, I think it’d be super cool having a game set up to focus on that. Specifically, I’m thinking of that movie Your Name (spoiler warning for that). The game would focus on two leaders who suddenly gain the ability to communicate with one another. Maybe they even do a full body swap? Or they swap places and never actually meet each other, but meet the army the other is leading? I'd need to weigh the pros and cons of the specifics
Each mc learns to care about the others they are meeting, becoming invested in the others' adventures even though they are confused by the strange country. At some point it’s revealed that they actually live in the exact same kingdom, just separated by thousands of years. Looking closely, you start to notice exact consequences from one plotline to another: in one chapter you plant a tree and in the future it’s big enough to be a whole map location; you decide to leave a volcano alone and that place is completely wiped off the map in the future; etc.
After the reveal, there's a lot of fun you can have with the armies. There can be a manakete character who’s in both groups, but has clearly overcome whatever they were struggling with in the past. There can be great-great-etc-grandchildren in the future army with obvious resemblance to their ancestors. You can have the past army start making purposeful decisions to help the others, burying chests with weapons and aid.
I remember being shocked in Your Name when it was revealed the protagonist you’d been following all this time was killed in the past, so it was unavoidable. Awakening has proved they can write a heart-wrenching “fate is not set in stone” theme, so I’d love to replicate a twist like that. The future army just checks their history books and realizes the army they’ve been communicating will falls in X battle or is betrayed by Y ally, then is unable to reach out to warn them. Though, if they did warn them, would their timeline cease to exist? Should they warn them?
I was originally picturing the main characters as ancestors, and their related bloodline allows them to communicate/body swap. However, it is fe, and I'm not immune to the potential for a sort of forbidden-love-across-time thing!

Security Breach: The unseen story?
Tumblr media
Be prepared to rethink everything you know about the game.
Ok so, based on a year of theorising, I think the plot of Security Breach may be totally different to what we have perceived it to be. Here is the shortest write up of my theory that I can muster. I have explanations coming to explain how I reached these conclusions. Trust me, I have way more to say on the matter.
It might help you to read the script or watch a playthrough of the game with this theory in mind. You'll likely spot the same things I did on the rewatch.
My breakdown of the plot of Security Breach
Gregory is the Crying Child remade physically. This is integral to the theory because it means he represents an Afton child with existing relationships/dynamics.
Patient 71 is Vanessa who has the soul of Elizabeth/Baby. Patient 46 is Gregory while acting as a vessel for William/Glitchtrap (46). The tapes help tell the story of what led up to Security Breach and fit with this theory. Also note the location of each CD, I think there are additional clues there.
Security Breach is actually the story of Fazbear Entertainment knowingly handling the Glitchtrap virus in the Pizzaplex, preventing the escape of William Afton and maintaining control of the situation.
The game has parallels to abusive/toxic family dynamics and fundamentally represents a power struggle between Mrs. A and William. Both want power and to control/win over their children.
Mrs Afton is the unseen but omnipresent owner of the Pizzaplex. She created it after escaping with Baby/Ennard from the Sister Location spot. She was originally Ballora but may have a different form now - she has explicit links to Roxy at very least. (Big explain coming soon). She has very big, evil plans for the Pizzaplex.
Prior to the game beginning, Mrs Afton uncovered the ruins of the FNAF 6 location with the goal of having Henry's soul inhabit Glamrock Freddy. Together, the duo begin to rebuild the company and - literally - their family. Mrs. Afton needs Henry's engineering skills to start again. They keep Afton imprisoned in the basement, unsure what to do with him. They may well be using him as part of their goals, against their better judgement.
Gregory - before disaster struck - was innocent but unknowingly complicit in FE's crimes. He helped the family business by becoming the new version of Balloon Boy (he does no harm himself but gives the animatronics an opening to attack the victim). He lived with his family in the Pizzaplex and he is friends with the animatronics - he may not know he is an animatronic himself. Freddy was designed specifically as a bodyguard for him. His job was to drum up business and unknowingly lure people into the Pizzaplex FE's experiments. However, one day Gregory begins to suspect something strange is going on. He follows the breadcrumb trail, glitches the arcade machines/tries the VR game and accidentally becomes a vessel for Afton/Glitchtrap.
William - now in Gregory's body - proceeds to pretend to be Gregory, playing along with FE's plans with the goal of overthrowing the management in the long term.
Mrs Afton notices Gregory is behaving out of character and asks the company therapist to get to the bottom of it. Patient 46 is Gregory post-Glitchtrap infection, trying to fly under the radar. Glitchtrap kills the therapists to cover his tracks but Mrs Afton persists. To prevent William from catching on, they play along. The therapists and Mrs. A are in cahoots, using the sessions to find out more information.
FE handles the initial virus outbreak (i.e stated in tape 16) but Gregtrap modifies the code to escape detection. As the therapist says, "the glitch stopped being a glitch and turned into an intentional set of subroutines that were aimed at creating the same thing the glitch created". Consequently, FE have already dealt with Glitchtrap system wide. However, at the start of Security Breach, they're still chasing the source of the glitches/subroutines which keep shifting.
To end the problems once and for all, FE decide to set a trap. They lock all the individuals they are suspicious of in the Pizzaplex to observe their behaviour.
Mrs. A sends Vanessa - her trusted daughter and employee - from another branch to sort out the Pizzaplex. Vanessa is the final current form of Elizabeth/Baby - an entity that spent years trapped alone with her mother in a basement. Mrs. A knows she can trust Vanessa to act in the best interest in the company and with utmost discretion. However, Mrs A. also suspects that William has already got to Vanessa and that Vanessa cannot figure out where her loyalty lies.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Afton suspects that Henry is having second thoughts about the company. She suspects his heart isn't in it and that he may be waiting to escape or double cross her.
Unsure where William is hiding/who is siding with him, FE sets a trap for all three of them. They find a way to get Gregory in Freddy's hatch. Then, Mrs. A takes the opportunity to reset Freddy and Gregory, triggering safe mode for Freddy (inc. low battery capability). Freddy and the animatronics are disconnected from the mainframe for a true test/network safety. Mrs Afton resets Gregory in the hope that doing so will remove Glitchtrap, return Gregory to his normal self or wipe his memory. Likewise, she hopes Henry and Vanessa's reactions to Gregory will help her figure out their motivation.
When Gregory exits the hatch, Mrs. A and FE watch to see how all involved react. Freddy and the animatronics pretend he's just a lost kid they don't know. Meanwhile, FE set Vanessa off after the two of them. The three are triangulated against each other and their behaviour monitored so the managers can figure out who is and isn't infected by Glitchtrap. Freddy is desperately hoping Gregory will be his normal self again.
What begins after is a hilarious game of rope-a-dope. Since Gregory acts like a lost child, Freddy calls Gregory's bluff and plays along. At every step, the pizzaplex throws up barriers designed to delay Gregory for time. From Freddy's unexpected detour to 'first aid' in the basement, the machine eating Gregory's pass, and the forced detour to daycare. FE can manipulate Pizzaplex machines on demand.
The daycare segment was the first real test. Fazbear Entertainment assume that a lost child will feel safe in daycare with the non-threatening Sun. Sun tries to distract and keep Gregory in place but he makes a beeline for the security pass. Gregory fails the test. The fail-safe goes off and Fazbear Entertainment cut the lights, subjecting Gregory to the glitchtrap-infected Moon as a distraction.
Meanwhile, FE direct the animatronics to wait for Gregory outside of the door, ready to capture him, now they are certain something is wrong.
However, Freddy ruins their plan by saving Gregory before the other animatronics can get to him. I think from the plot details we have suggest that Freddy has his own ulterior motives separate from FE. Perhaps FE plan to disassemble Gregory and Henry can't handle that?
However, Freddy doesn't get far before needing to go to the recharge station.
Vanny happens (and has little impact on the story).
Freddy does his best to direct Gregory to an alternative exit, hoping to escape with Gregory. However security passes block them at every turn.
Eventually, Vanessa closes in. Gregory blacks out when she captures him. She takes Gregory to Lost and Found, following procedure. This exchange reads as authentic - Vanessa is merely trying to do her job. Vanny happens again.
It's very possible there is a time skip here - unbeknownst to Gregory.
During Gregory's trip to lost and found, Freddy is either injured as punishment for not obeying orders or as another test for Gregory. Or both. Freddy directs Gregory to do fetch quests so they can go to Parts and Service. They have to fix Freddy before he goes any further.
Gregory goes to the Rehearsal Room and gets locked in. Freddy spontaneously regains the ability to communicate and the use of his legs - which is so odd, the script calls it out. This miracle may be due to Gregory's actions in said room or this could suggest Freddy was being deceptive about his motives. Could this be a ploy for time or a mission with a secret goal for Freddy? Perhaps he stole the Showtime disk for a different reason?
Either way, this scene reveals the pizzaplex is on lockdown. This could suggest that FE are manipulating the pizzaplex to modify Gregory and Freddy's route.
Freddy tells Gregory he has to vent (lol) and they are reunited. They head towards Parts and Service
Just as they approach PaS, Freddy begins to run out of power. Gregory gets into a recharge station just in time to see Moon knock Freddy out and drag him away. I personally think this is confirmation that Moon is possessed/controlled by Glitchtrap - independently of Gregory - and he is also working against Henry and to achieve his own ulterior motives. I believe Moon's goal is to seperate Gregory and Freddy to prevent their escape and also to guide Gregory towards upgrading Freddy.
Gregory detours through the rest of PaS and goes up against endos. He returns to Freddy and witnesses a cutscene with Freddy and Vanessa. This scene reads totally different with this theory in mind. A key nod comes from Vanessa suggesting "If you are part of this, you are scrap.". This confirms there is more going on than meets the eye. Vanessa also talks about replacing Freddy which I think is a clue to her being more senior/being more than just a security guard. How does Vanessa have any control over who performs?
Gregory finally reunites with Freddy. Gregory fixes Freddy before asking what he can use to "stop the other bots". He then notes that all of the animatronics have special parts and states "we could upgrade you!". Unbeknownst to Freddy, this is Glitchtrap's real aim. He wants to use Gregory to find a way to his Burntrap body in the basement with the hope he can find a way to free himself. This is why Gregory is so angry when Freddy tries to dissuade him.
Freddy states that the animatronics would never ha a child, it is against their programming. I think this is there to highlight what seems like unwarranted aggression from Gregory.
Gregory heads to Monty Golf of Fazer Blast. Stuff happens. The key point here, though, is that as soon as Gregory begins to break/take parts from the animatronic, his goals become clear to Mrs. A. She knows that the upgrades to access Burntrap are spread across the animatronics to prevent any accidental accessing of this area. At this point, Gregory's facade falls away for FE. He is openly aggressive towards the animatronics but Freddy appears too naive/trusting to realise. He seems genuinely concerned/upset about the idea of the other animatronics being injured.
This marks the point where the animatronics (and Vanessa) become more aggressive ingame.
Freddy and Gregory head to Roxy Raceway. Sidenote: I think the scene with the S.T.A.F.F driving assist bot head quest is a lore clue. Why do you need a specific 'head' to drive a go-kart if S.T.A.F.F bots are generic? Also worth noting, the post-it note room (presumably Gregory's) is full of Staffbot heads with glowing eyes and Gregory takes Freddy's head with him in the Princess Quest ending. Food for thought…
Freddy tells Gregory to go to the West Arcade, making excuses not to go himself. I believe he knows he cannot get caught again as he will be disassembled. Here, the animatronics really throw themselves at Gregory. Roxy launches herself at him. The half-body of Monty does an alligator death roll jumpscare. Basically, FE makes a last ditch attempt to grab Gregory, even triggering Bouncer mode on DJ Music Man. (No sign of the "nice guy" Freddy claims him to be). Freddy even comments that "The Security System knows you are here and has locked you out". I believe this is a hint. Why would the animatronics be hunting Gregory if they cannot/would not harm a child? And why would the 'security system' be trying to catch him?
After this section, we move onto the endings. Each of these have interesting subtext in this theory.
Gregory leaves: Gregtrap plays along with his 'lost kid' gambit to the end. Henry - as Freddy - helps him to escape. He wants to do so himself but cannot and instead lets his child go, hoping at least he can be safe. However, FE are ready for him. Gregory has nowhere to go and Vanny quickly finds him. Glitchtrap loses.
Fire exit ending: Gregory can drive. Major hint. He does so, laughing like a loon. He's done it. He's escaped the Pizzaplex with Freddy in tow. He runs over Mapbot with glee. He hates the animatronics. Freddy runs out of power but Gregory easily revives him, showing he has more knowledge of tech than he claimed. Glitchtrap wins
Vanny ending: Vanny catches up to Freddy. FE has figured out that Freddy has gone rogue and he is trying to escape/go against Mrs. A. As a result, Vanny instructs the staffbots to disassemble Freddy. Gregory responds by instructing the Staffbots to 'disassemble Vanny'. Gregtrap doesn't really want to - she is his daughter after all and its possible she was his collaborator - but she leaves him no choice. She is acting on behalf of Mrs. A and he needs to survive. He goes back to Freddy and keeps up the Gregory act. He weeps at Henry's side. Given that Freddy and Gregory have a father-son relationship, it's a genuinely sad moment and I believe Freddy is totally genuine in his final words. Glitchtrap survives but everyone else lose.
Burntrap ending: This is the ending where Glitchtrap wins. Working in tandem, Gregory and Burntrap make out that they are fighting but in actuality, Gregory is helping him to escape. The Blob knows Gregory is possessed and tries to stop him. However, what no one realises is that Glitchtrap's ultimate goal is to merge with the Blob, allowing him to grow stronger and ultimately tap into the Pizzaplex' systems.
Princess Quest: The good guys win? Now this is the ending I am still shaky on. I'm unsure what exactly happened. Ultimately, however, Freddy gets to escape (sort of… only his head does) with both of his kids. So is this a happy ending? I'm genuinely not sure. I am not convinced the Princess Quest game freed Vanessa or Gregory or anyone else. It's possible that Gregory just reinfected the Pizzaplex again, removing Mrs. A's control and placing it back in William's. Alternatively, perhaps it did but Gregtrap lives on. That said, I'm sorely tempted to say this is a happy ending and this represents Henry, Greg and Vanessa finding freedom from William and Mrs. A. There are way more sinister readings available though.
A little sidenote: What about Mike? If Freddy is Henry, where does Mike fir in. Well, I think his absence is deliberately glaring. I think we were wrong about the Post-It note room family scene. Mike wasn't represented by Balloon Boy but by the headless robot. Balloon World suggests BB is Gregory. So why is Mike headless? I believe he decided to work against FE and he has been systematically disowned and his existence ignored by Mrs. A ever since. There is a hint to this in Help Wanted. They want to write him out of the story and discredit him as he and his knowledge poses a direct risk to FE's future. This is why he is entirely absent in the Encyclopedia.
I have taken some creative liberties to fill in the gaps but I think this is a good starting point. I believe Security Breach is a game of deduction and deception so its possible there is even more going on. Maybe Gregory and Vanny/Vanessa are working together/double crossed each other? Or Fazbear Entertainment staff were plotting to put Glitchtrap in charge? Its hard to know right now but imho, there is way more to this story than meets the eye here.
Alternative theory names:
Mrs Afton vs. William theory
Among us theory
Cluedo theory
Trap theory

Hello mbti-notes and thank you for having this blog. INTP here (probably). Sorry if this post is unstructured. I'm writing this in middle of what I think of as Fe-grip (anxiety/depression) as my problem is related to that.
If you aren't certain about your type, do a proper type assessment. I won't comment on function development otherwise. At the end of your message, you ask whether your thinking is "rational". This is a concerning question since INTPs should automatically understand what it means to be rational and how to determine it.
My aux Ne is trying to remind me of lots of future worst case scenarios, to the point that I experience anxiety, depression and hopelessness.
These "future worst case scenarios" you speak of are fiction. It is your imagination, so why do you treat them as real? Are you being rational when you can't tell the difference between what happens inside your mind and external reality?
And my Si (combined with Ti) tries to find out other people's experiences (online) and facts to support them. And then my Fe makes me regretful, anxious and depressed.
I don't really understand, why should other people's experience have any bearing on you? Are you not an individual with your own path and your own life to live? Are you being rational when you conflate their experience with yours?
I have written to you before. To cut the long story short, I made wrong choices and also trusted my family in some cases in my late teens and 20s, which caused me to waste all those years and my youth with it.
What do you mean by "waste"? Aren't all of your experiences a part of you and important for making you who you are? Acceptance of your past is an important aspect of self-acceptance. Are you being rational when you seek the impossible, such as wanting only positive experiences and never any negative things in life?
Then in my late 20s, I found my path and decided to fix my life. The problem is, despite trying to improve my life (in order to find a career and also reach my other goals), I feel behind in life. I know I can't make my life as good as the wise version of my teen or YA self, or a person that starts this process in their early 20s.
What do you mean by "fell behind"? By what standards? Society's standards? What is this "wise version of my teen or YA self" you speak of? Wisdom can only come through learning from extensive life experience, so teens, by definition, aren't wise. It may sound insulting but it's a fact of brain maturation. Your perception of the past seems distorted, so your comparisons are nonsensical. Are you being rational when you adopt arbitrary beliefs about "success"?
I'm also really terrified of ageism and aging. To the point that I get a panic attack everytime I see small signs of aging in myself. I've heard people are more respected and desired from 18 to 30. I was always indifferent towards those things and didn't care about being desired by other people, but lately things have changed and I'm starting to get terrified of myself, my age, my body and my future.
People age and die; these are facts of life. Are you being rational when you spend all your energy refusing to accept the facts of life, rather than taking action to make the most of your limited time?
I can't get over my lost youth. I studied something my family wanted and even graduated, but couldn't find a career with it where I live. And I spent most of my 20s in isolation. I refused to date, refused to make friends didn't experience life much and didn't reach my goals (professional, gender-related and immigration related).
You refused to date, refused to make friends, and refused to live a full life? In other words, you are now facing the consequences of your decisions. Negative consequences exist to teach you the error of your ways, such that you can CHANGE and evolve throughout life. Are you being rational by getting angry at logical consequences, rather than learning from them, making different decisions, and getting better outcomes?
These days, I'm either numb or experiencing Fe overload (panic attack, anxiety and depression and some worse things). To the point that I'm afraid of myself. I can't trust psychiatrists as I live in a conservative place and don't know if I can explain EVERYTHING to them.
I sympathize that it's difficult for you to get professional help where you are, but this doesn't mean it's an impossibility. With the internet, you have access to people all over the world. Perhaps you need to learn how to use your imagination for good and explore more possibilities for getting the help you need. If you are deep in Si loop, it means you talk yourself out of good opportunities or convince yourself there are no good opportunities, because you don't want to risk feeling disappointed or hurt again. If that's the case, are you being rational when you'd prefer being stuck in pain to moving forward in life?
And I can't trust my family either. I have tried to find solutions online. It says you have to accept aging or hide it, but I can't do either of them. Nothing has been able to help me. I still regret losing my 20s/youth, not being able to be myself, starting late, etc. To the point that I can't be hopeful about my future. I'm also angry with my society/cntry for being conservative and irrational, for making me stay closeted, forcing me to be covered and wear things that don't define "me" in public, and not being able to deal with a person like me. Plus other issues. I'm also disappointed with my family, for being ashamed of me, forcing me to dress up and hide/change myself, not seeing my struggles and not researching. And most of them are high Si or Se users, so when they see me depressed, they either gaslight/shame me for it, or buy me food or want to take me out, which actually makes me guilty and more depressed.
I have written many times about the pointlessness of blame. It is a distraction. It is a way to deflect responsibility. It is a way to wallow in self-pity by always taking the position of the helpless victim. By your own admission, over and over again, you kept allowing yourself to be swayed by mere opinion. And now you blame all those things rather than facing up to the facts. Without being in touch with the facts, on what basis can you make good decisions? Are you being rational when you continually refuse to face facts?
Yes I know, the most logical thing here is to focus on my goals and studies. And I'm trying my best. But those fears and regrets are always on the back of my head (sometimes even worse) causing me anxiety attacks.
You seem to have a habit of constantly fighting against your feelings and emotions - has it worked for you? Or have they only gotten worse the more you resist and battle them? When a strategy doesn't work, is it rational to keep repeating it?
This is an issue of poor emotional intelligence and another example of being unwilling to face facts, in this case, the facts of your psychology. Please consult past posts about how to improve your emotional intelligence. Are you being rational when your decision-making process has been hijacked by runaway negative emotions?
I mean, my youth got wasted, and from now on, I'm probably going to experience age discrimination and ageism in many areas of life (professional, dating, clubs, etc), even if I reach my other goals and immigrate to a better place.
Do you know why you suffer fear of ageism? Because you have chosen to use age to define your worth. You have internalized the destructive ageist standards of the most shallow members of your society. You blame others for their faults, but you have chosen to be just like them, haven't you?
At some point, you have to grow up, which means making a difficult decision: Are you going to be your own person and live life as you need to, guided by your own carefully considered beliefs and values? Or are you going to keep subjecting yourself to the standards of others and constantly suffer on a roller coaster of their dis/approvals?
You can't have it both ways; you can't keep seeking the highs of validation without also experiencing the lows of invalidation. As long as you keep using this shallow system of evaluating your self-worth, you'll suffer. Pain is unavoidable in life, but suffering is a choice. Is it rational to keep choosing suffering?
My question is, 1) Am I making a rational judgement here?
I'm hard-pressed to find any rational judgment above. It is rational and healthy to feel bad about bad circumstances. You ought to seek comfort for getting through difficult times and support/assistance for changing what you can about negative situations. But it isn't healthy or rational to indulge judgmentalness, throw around blame, dwell in negativity, and/or obsess about things you don't have the power to change; these activities are an empty comfort that not only hold you back in life but keep you stuck in pain and suffering.
2) Is there a way to permanently get out of Fe grip without being later triggered by Si viewpoints?
Yes, it is through properly developing Ti and Ne. If you really don't want to correct your flawed judgment and open your mind to alternative ways of thinking and solving problems, then perhaps you do need to reconsider whether you are actually INTP.

more tianshan headcanons/ theories of what will happen in the future
First of all, it's already a consensus that He Tian is leaving right? But nobody's talking HOW he leaves
Here's my theory:
He Tian killed She Li
There would be no way he would abandon the redhead without first doing that feat after what the snake did.
I think nothing more fair, in fact, maybe it's even my own desires in this. But I think this would be a hypothesis, He Tian having a fit of rage killing the snake with his bare hands to finally not have more to worry about his existence.
Consequently, it would lead to a He Tian leaving out of nowhere. He Tian already had fe Qiu help to threaten and it didn't work, I think we're running out of options here.

Hi Charity, hope you're having a good week! I asked a question here before, and you explained that what I was experiencing was inferior Fe shenanigans. I am back with more questions related to that lol. Tbh, I am not 100% sure of being an ITP, but it does seem more likely/fitting than ETP. But maybe this submission will shed some light one way or another? Either way, I'm sure time (many years) will tell.
So the thing is, I think I'm becoming more and more 'stringent' with Fe as time goes on. I'm in my early thirties. I thought through my approach towards Fe, and I think it's something like this - I think of it mainly as social etiquette, although it of course encompasses way more than that, but where social etiquette is concerned, I'm quite proud of myself for what I think is a general competence in it. The problematic thing is that in recent times, I also find myself judging others more harshly when they 'fail' to display what I consider the 'appropriate' level of social etiquette...
I'm not going to include everything you wrote, since it is quite long; but I did read it all. I think what you are struggling with is you have established a 'system' (a hack) which you assume is going to work in order to better socialize with other people, and when other people aren't aware of this system or its rules, you get upset, because they are going 'off-game' and you don't know the appropriate reaction to make. This does seem like inferior Fe (I thought we were on the same chessboard, and instead you are playing tennis!?).
There may also be a super-ego influence here, paired with a strong social instinct. You are a social dominant for sure. You are highly attentive to what's appropriate, tuning into others as best you can (even if it feels awkward at times), being aware of them and trying to meet them on some kind of level. Relationship-maintaining. Some of your complaints are against other people who are low in social (not taking a social engagement or connection as seriously as you do, for example), or even social-blindness (wow, that was cringe/rude), and some of it seems to be coming from a 1ish place of criticisms against bad behavior. Something to explore -- how does your Ennagram type play into this?
It's easy for you to remember the rules of engagement and abide by them -- but other people do not possess these rules. They weren't taught them, or they don't care, or they are oblivious to how they come across, or in some instances, they are narcissistic and/or selfish (nobody exists but me).
Still, this is worth commenting on:
But the interesting thing is that with F types, mostly FJs, over time, they seem to get more callous and/or careless (lol). I don't know if it's them getting very comfortable, but at times they say things that make me think hold up, that's not very nice, I think I treat you nicer than that. They probably think I won't be offended, and it's true that I'm not, but it's like...the balance is gone.
This is insightful. To a degree, many feelers can get too comfortable dealing with thinkers and assume the thinker has less feelings than is accurate, or that they can say whatever they want (even if it's mean) and face no consequences for it. What would happen if you drew their attention to it, and pointed out what you just told me? "That was unkind. Have I ever been that unkind to you?"
It's unfortunate, but the closer we are to people, the more comfy we are with them and the less we watch our tongues. We are often nicer to a random person in the grocery store than to the love of our life or our best friend, because we take them for granted. It takes inner work and awareness to consciously choose to treat the people we most care about with special kindness, but it's worth doing. And it's better if you call people on things and make them notice them, if you can.
Or they start to 'slack off', like a friend who got so comfortable that she'd scroll social media or online shopping sites most of the time when I'm talking. But my attentiveness while she's talking is 100%.
I am sorry about this. If it helps, it's not you. She's addicted to the dopamine hit her phone gives her, and suffers from the fear of missing out that all people do who are glued to the internet. It becomes such a conscious need, they forget how rude it is to whip out their phone and scroll in the middle of a conversation. It's them multi-tasking and doing two things at once, poorly.
I guess from their POV it could be that they are showing they are comfortable with me? Which is a good thing? But...what does this mean? Do I also get to be the same way with you?
... you could always try it and see, or you could say, "I thought you came here to spend time with me. Could you put down your phone and listen to me? I didn't come here to stare at the top of your head." People get so addicted to their phones, half the time they aren't really aware of what they are doing, but if you start drawing attention to it, it may cause them to notice how disconnected they are from the real world and the conversations happening around them.
I would advocate for honesty with feelers on a level that reaches them (that was quite hurtful, did you mean it the way it sounded?), but not for unleashing the same kinds of criticisms on them, because unlike you, they WILL get offended.
IMO, you sound like a nice person who is trying hard not to offend the people you care about, and that's admirable. Please don't let the reactions of others who are not trying as hard put you off it, because you are going to possess greater social skills than they do going forward and that will get you far in life. Don't talk yourself out of doing it. Do it anyway. But also allow yourself to relax, if you feel like it -- if someone seems comfortable with you in a way that puts you at ease, loosen the rules a bit. Be less careful. Follow their lead.
It's worth noting that if you will know whom you can be more honest with and whom you can't by their past reactions to you. If someone has taken criticism in the past in a mature manner, you can trust them to be "okay" with your honest self, and you need not tread so carefully around them all the time. :)

The movie is clearly trying to show that racial (or in this case, speciesial? special?) profiling is wrong and that it has serious negative consequences not just for individuals but for society at large. However, as Devin Faraci points out in his review, the portrayal of minorities as "predators" seems to undermine the entire message of the movie. It implies that this minority is inherently dangerous; to quote Faraci:
"Predators eat prey. This is their relationship, and we in the audience understand it as such. Yes, the bunny should be pulling her kids away from the tiger. The tiger is demonstrably, historically dangerous. He has evolved to be dangerous to her."

Yeah this is where Martha Wells, a cis white woman, fails every time she tries to portray oppressed people in her writing. The Raksura are literally apex predators who literally evolve shapeshifting abilities so they could sneak into other species' cities, gain their trust, and then eat them all. They are so absurdly overpowered the protagonists, who are Raksura, have literally never lost a fight on screen, even against the other Actual Evil Race of Shapeshifters Who Eat People that are supposedly super scary and dangerous. No, despite all the characters constantly telling us these other ones are super scary and terrifying and dangerous, Martha Wells just can't bring herself to let the protagonist lose a single fight against them.
Or anyone else for that matter. The Raksura are physically superior to their natural prey - - other people - - in every way. They're faster. They have natural weapons in the form of teeth, claws, wings, and pure physical strength. You can't outrun them, you can't hide from them, there's no defence against them for 99.99% of the people in this world.
But the Raksura, we are old, are oppressed by everyone else, because everyone else is rightfully wary of them and thinks they're going to eat them. You know, the way they literally evolved to do?
And then in her newest series The Murderbot Diaries, the androids (she decided to call them constructs to confuse everyone for no reason) are enslaved, and obviously this is a bad thing....but not even the fucking protagonist, who is one of these enslaved androids, thinks the other androids should be freed because they're all so inherently dangerous and violent and scary and used as weapons by Capitalism to oppress people.
These androids have guns built into their arms and the ability to kill as many people as they want and the protagonist, Murderbot is constantly spying on literally everyone around it by hacking into security cameras and trailing people with drones and there's literally nothing anyone would be able to do to get it to stop doing this. If it wanted to it could, very easily, within less than a minute send a space station crashing out of orbit and into a planet if it felt like it. And there would be nothing anyone could do to stop it.
But then we're still supposed to think that it's not fair for humans who have been directly and traumatically oppressed by these androids to be afraid of them and to think they're dangerous. The protagonist itself literally doesn't even think other androids should be freed because it thinks they'd all go on a rampage and start killing everyone.
Martha Wells has not written about a single oppressed people in any of her stories where the oppressed people were not literally posing a real life threatening danger to the people doing the oppressing.
Because Martha Wells does not understand how oppression works, or why it exists. Just the same way as she doesn't understand that gender is a social construct, or how it works.
If your oppressed people are oppressed "for a good reason" and it's not just literally propaganda to justify oppressing them, then you're just racist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Real oppressed people are not oppressed because they're super powered robots who can kill hundreds of people in a few minutes, or because they're literal shapeshifting apex predators who evolved to kill and eat people, or because they're fucking antivaxxers who've literally wiped several cities off the post-apocalyptic map by refusing to get vaccinated.
Stop fucking writing about fantasy oppression if you don't actually know how real oppression works in the first place.
