3-4 months ago I arranged a DC marathon for myself, now I decided that I will share here what I read/watched and my assessment of it.
The marathon consists of two parts: the first is reading comics, the second is watching movies/series/animated series.
Here is what I managed to read:
Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade (2016) 9/10
Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour (2021) 9/10
(This comic was created based on the animated series that I did not watch, but due to the fact that I often saw moments from this comic, I could not help but read it!)
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (1986) 6/10
Batman: Year One (1987) 9/10
Batman: The Killing Joke (1988) 9/10
John Constantine: Hellblazer (1988) 10/10
Cosmic Odyssey (1988) 10/10
Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth (1989) 10/10

Universe's Voyage - Abadestres I
Notes
Another practice short story I wrote the other day for my character, Prince Abadestres. I hope everyone enjoys it.
A nebulous haze stretches over the vacancy. Alongside the misty paths, pools of glittering dust darts the transient plane. An arch of marble and stone towers over the existence. Beneath, the lone Prince backs into a pillar, humming a soft tune. The silence was rather unnatural, for he thought the whispers of the universe would clamor his mind. Perhaps, it was finally peaceful enough to write a story? Without the distractions and responsibilities of watching over a loud universe, it would be possible.
But it was strange. Where were the sounds now? Did the universe fall asleep? Such a thing would be impossible for time was fluid and ever changing and always turning. Perhaps he was dreaming again. Dreaming about the quiet beginnings of a universe. He could see it now. The light escaping the darkened void in a puddle before him.
It was a replay of the universe's creation. There it was, the Abadastarix laying off its layers of light. The light being stripped like a snake's skin. The god formed into the Golden Eagle. A fabled reminder of creation. Right before the Prince's eyes in a dream. How he could interpret said creation and mold it into his own. From the Eagle's will and grace, the Prince's own thoughts could spark creation too.
Abadestres rose above the lustrous pond. He lifted his arm and swiftly swayed his hand. The gesture erased the scene of creation with ripples of sparkling purples and blues obscuring it. For as long as this dream lasted, he would imagine another world. An escape from his troubles.
This world contained no other beings. It would only be for him and him only. Though if there was another he could fall for, he would surely allow them in. Further, if he could break the glass of the Astrolabe's barriers and run to the planet of acid and rain he would save his sister. They would run and fall into this undisclosed creation of his own world.
Through this world, creating their own definition of an odyssey. The process would be long and arduous as creation did take time. The Daybreak Council would eventually revert his efforts. With Patherex being the sole ruler of planets, the Prince's efforts would not last.
But he could dream. And dream some more. After all, his sole existence was dreaming. If not in the reality of the Astrolabe or the confines of Daybreak's wishes, he would sit and observe the universe. Or write stories of said universe. Dreaming and dreaming.
What were the universe's mortals like? Would there be anyone that would comprehend the Prince's gaze? Or would there be at least one that understood him?
Abadestres let go, lowering his arm. He fell back instantaneously, allowing himself to free fall. But as he did, the dream scene disappeared. The misty pink background faded into blackness. The nebulous, purple haze that stretched out into the ether dissipated. He closed his eyes, allowing the darkness to take him.
"If I could run", The Prince mumbled.
A fluffiness surrounded him. It covered him up like a blanket. Soft and tender. This fluff felt more like feathers. It soothed his soul, reminding him of his Phoenix ascension. Those years of the universe where he transformed, free falling as a Phoenix into the endless void of space. He loosened his grip and allowed his body to succumb to it.
"I would run far, far away. Hide at the edge of the ever growing universe, constantly chasing it as it expanded", Abadestres finished.
With one breath in and then out, he opened his eyes. The green auroras in the sky, coupled with the endless clash of simulated black holes, their tendrils taking in the star dust. The ceiling of his celestial room. Back to the true reality of the Astrolabe.
