I'm so in love with Cor being the one who saved Prompto from the labs and it's not normal but I'm so obsessedddd
And like, any way is awesome!
Cor saved him and then raised him? Yeess
Or he saved him and Prompto's parents raised him and then Prom goes to train in the Crownsguard and Cor is all omg I'm so proud
Or Prompto's parents are assholes and Prompto has to live somewhere else and suddenty boom Cor the immortal is like 'I got it' and bonding
Or Cor managed to get him out but couldn't fully escape Niflheim with him and was forced to leave him behind/lost him. But he remembers the barcode number and one day they capture/find or whatever this guy from Niflheim with a barcode and of course it's the same and aahh feelings
Anyway, Cor and Prompto. Love it. I want it.
Anyone have any fic/blog recs? I need more! <3

Shake thing up +9 with Nyx, if you could please?
I hope it's okay to send this?
It's always ok to send asks! I love asks, but it can take me a while to get to them. Sorry for the wait, this may not be exactly what you had in mind, but I hope you enjoy!
9. okay so if you want me to rescue you from up there you have to try to come with me--okay I guess I'm picking you up
Nyx was coming back from his lunch break when he heard the crying. Luche and Tredd were fighting about something, Nyx wasn’t sure he wanted to know what, so he’d taken the first opportunity to get out there and use his lunch break to get some fresh air and stretch his legs. He took the back way to Glaive HQ, both because the trees were pretty this time of year and to avoid seeing anyone else as long as possible.
So there definitely shouldn’t be anyone here, but that was definitely sniffles he was hearing. Nyx looked around, but he couldn’t see the source of the noise. He walked closer to the trees, listening carefully as he looked. He still didn’t see anything, until he looked up. There, in the high branches, was a small boy clinging to the trunk.
“Hey, you alright up there?” Nyx was already calculating the best route up the tree, just in case.
The crying stopped as the boy startled. Nyx moved as the boy wobbled on the branch, but he managed to catch himself.
“I- I can’t get down.” The voice was soft and wet with tears, but Nyx was able to make it out.
“Ok, ok, you stay there.”
Nyx considered warping, but he didn’t want to startle the boy into falling. So, he hooked an arm on one of the low branches and hauled himself up. He’d climbed a lot of trees as a kid, and this one was old, with a lot of conveniently placed branches. It was a matter of minutes before he made it up near where the kid was holding on. Unfortunately, the boy was high enough that the branches were too thin to hold Nyx.
Nyx tried to keep the frustration off his face as he stopped a few feet below the boy. “Hey, my name’s Nyx. What’s yours?”
The boy turned his head to look down at Nyx, still clinging to the trunk. “Prompto.”
“Ok, Prompto. I can’t make it all the way up there, so I’m going to need you to drop down to the branch below you.”
Prompto squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head, a few stray tears running down his face.
Nyx smiled up at him, putting as much confidence in his voice as he could. “You can do this. I know you can. Just scoot back a little and lower yourself down. I’ll make sure you don’t fall.”
Prompto shook his head again, eyes still closed.
“Prompto, look at me.” Nyx waited until Prompto opened his eyes. “You can trust me. I won’t let you get hurt. But if you want me to rescue you from up there you have to try to come a little closer to me, ok?”
Prompto looked down at Nyx, eyes wide with fear. Then he nodded and let go of the trunk.
“That’s it, you’re doing great, just like that.” Nyx talked Prompto through sliding down the branch and lowering himself to the branch below. If Prompto could just reach that branch, Nyx should be able to grab him.
Everything was going great until Prompto’s sneakers slipped on the bark and he fell. Nyx lunged and grabbed him, throwing his kukri and bringing them to the ground in a warp. He patted the boy down as soon as they came out of the warp but he couldn’t see any obvious injuries.
“You alright, Prompto?” Nyx felt Prompto’s head for injuries as the boy hunched over.
Nyx was about to check for bruised ribs, worried about how Prompto was holding himself, when his jacket meowed.
Prompto looked up at Nyx, cheeks red, and unzipped the jacket a little. A small black cat popped its head out and meowed again.
“She got stuck and I was trying to get her down but she kept going higher and by the time I caught her I was too high and I got stuck,” Prompto said all in a rush. He ducked his head.  “I’m sorry.”
Nyx laughed and ruffled his hair. “I’m just glad you’re alright.”
He scratched the cat on the cheek and it leaned into it. “So what are you doing out here anyway?”
Prompto blushed harder. “I was coming to see my dad, but I got distracted. Please don’t tell him what happened.”
Nyx chuckled and shook his head. “I suppose I can keep this between us, if you promise me you’ll be more careful climbing trees from now on, cat or not.”
“Thank you! Yes, I promise!” Prompto beamed at him as he pet the cat behind the ears.
“Now, where’s your dad?” Nyx wasn’t sure he wanted a kid running around the Citadel by himself, especially a blond one like Prompto.
“Oh, you don’t have to take me! I’ll be fine!” Prompto kneeled down and unzipped his jacket the rest of the way. The cat jumped out and disappeared around the corner to a small sigh from Prompto.
“I want to,” Nyx countered.
Prompto looked like he wanted to argue but he just sighed. Nyx followed him into the Citadel, ignoring the looks as they went deeper into the Crownsguard wing. Just who was this kid? Nyx had expected to have to run interference for him, considering the kid looked like an immigrant, and Nyx knew how a lot of the Crownsguard felt about immigrants, but most of the looks were for him, not Prompto.
Prompto noticed the look Nyx was giving him and stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jacket. “My dad’s Cor Leonis.”
Nyx raised his eyebrows. He had no idea the Marshal had a son. He must take after his mother, because he didn’t look anything like the Marshal.
Nyx smirked. “No wonder you don’t want your dad to know. He’d probably make you climb a hundred trees for practice.”
Prompto made a face. “You can’t tell him, you promised.”
“Your secret’s safe with me.” Nyx shook his head, wondering what life was like in the Leonis household. He’d heard stories about what a hardass the Marshal was.
He considered whether he should just leave Prompto there, since if he was the Marshal’s kid, he probably didn’t need an escort, but just then, the Marshal walked around the corner.
“Dad!” For all Prompto’s reluctance to tell his dad what happened, he sure was happy to see him. He ran up and threw his arms around him without hesitation.
Nyx smiled as the Marshal hugged him back. It seemed the Marshal wasn’t a complete hardass after all.
“I was worried, Prom. You didn’t come over with Noctis.” The Marshal put his hands on Prompto’s shoulders and looked him over.
“I needed to check on Blackie first.” Prompto looked over at Nyx and Nyx straightened. “Blackie got stuck up a tree but Nyx helped get her down for me!”
Nyx grinned. That was one version of events. “That’s me, rescuer of those in need.”
“Thank you for your assistance, Ulric. Now, I’m sure you have actual duties to attend to.” Nyx could see on the Marshal’s face that he knew that wasn’t the whole story.
“Yes, sir.” Nyx saluted the Marshal and waved at Prompto, before turning to head back to Glaive HQ.
As he was walking away, he overheard the Marshal say, “You know we can’t have pets right now, Prom.”
Nyx smiled to himself. Who knew the Marshal was such a softie?

i love expanding on galahd and Niflheim of course straying a wee bit from canon. because its more fun that way I’m a strong believer that canon is meant to be broken. i’ve been bouncing around with ideas for years and they rise and fall.
i have 2 official fleshed out ffxv ocs but one kinda remains strong because she’s become literally apart of me, darn my love for firecracker oc’s. plus the idea of Cor being a literal dad warms my heart! even if he didn’t get much time with her
so Imma ramble,
To cushion the angst Dad Cor would cry seeing his daughter take her first steps, her mimicking his facial expressions (espcially grumpy faces), her waiting for him to get back from his missions, falling alseep with his coat draped over her tiny body, her giving lil kisses on his frown lines because she thinks their owwies. Just Cor getting to be wholesome and loved because dammit he deserves it!
Dad cor gives me life and I think he deserves it a hundred percent, since my oc would be older than rest of Lucian kiddos she’d lead the pack....into trouble. lol
Her and Gladio would try to establish a pecking order, she’d win. Before Regis and his wife have kid(s) I imagine she’d be a favorite. trailing behind Regis’s wife and being a little princess. Even King Regis can’t shake her cuteness and the fact that she’s a spitting image of cor...just with curler hair on her head. Of course Cor has to demand to have his daughter back.
not angst, course stuff happens and she gets taken and she spends the rest of her life in  Niflheim. Without the love of her father and mother and really any warmth. Because the empire is a rough place.
Cor gets angry trying to find his sunshine, than quiet because he can’t find anything...and the warmth he had for his little monster now burns him with regret. How could he the Marshall... the immortal man.. how could he not save his little girl? She believed in him, he was her super hero and he let her down.. And now amount of counseling from his friends.. can change that. Everyone tried to help and offer their words but he just kept walking.. oh and this also caused issues with the woman he loved who birthed her so uh yeaaaahh
Bu~uut this way I get to play around with  Niflheim and touch a bit of Galahd. more straying from canon yay. Because I gotta knows more. and i do enjoy some good angst

“Prompto…” Noctis repeats, trying the name on his tongue, finding that he likes the sound of it. “What happened to him?”
Cor is quiet for a long time. Then...

📓
Sorry for the delay, anon! I got kind of blocked on these.
For your consideration:
An aged up Nyx has made a name from himself in the Kingsglaive around the time Cor decides to go to Niflheim to investigate some disturbing rumors, so Regis orders Cor to take Nyx along with him. They find a cloning lab where they make MTs, but they only find one baby alive. They rescue him, and on the way back to Insomnia, Prompto wins over both Nyx and Cor.
Cor is lost around toddlers, but Nyx is a big brother to his core, so he's got experience helping with child care. By the time they make back to Insomnia, Nyx has essentially adopted Prompto, with Cor being similarly attached. But the Insomnian government won't let Nyx take Prompto because he's an immigrant. Cor steps up and tells them he's taking Prompto to keep him out of the system. Nyx is grateful, even as a part of him resents Cor for being the one allowed to keep Prompto.
Nyx practically moves in with Cor, because even if he's not officially Prompto's parent, he's not about to leave him, especially when he's seen how little experience with kids Cor has. Someone official raises a stink about it, so someone suggests Cor and Nyx get married so Nyx can legally have custody.
Cor goes along with it because in all this mess, he's fallen in love with Nyx. Once Nyx deals with his anger some and sees how hard Cor is trying to make things better for him, he admits he returns the feelings, and they all live together as one happy family.

dad!cor + prompto
Tumblr media
What other people consider stoicism Cor simply considers calmness.
He’s never really been shocked, never been so surprised that he hasn’t been able to look past an obstacle and see a way around it. Cor has never been so frightened that he’s frozen, he’s never felt the kind of terror that people talk about where they say I didn’t know what to do.
Prompto’s mobile goes straight to voicemail, but Cor checks his room and finds his charger plugged into the wall beside his bed. While annoying, Cor can’t be angry about it; he’s been meaning to buy a second charger to leave at Monica’s for when he spends the night with her.
Prompto is speed dial preset one, Monica is on number two — she picks up fast, which is one of his favourite things about her. He wouldn’t co-parent a child with anyone else.
“Prompto left his gym sneakers behind,” Cor tells her without any preamble. “Let him know that I’ll drop them off at school on my way to work so he doesn’t have to rush back here.”
Monica is so quiet he wonders if she answered the phone at all.
“Monica?”
“Prompto isn’t here,” Monica says. “Cor — I thought he…didn’t he decide to stay at home tonight?”
And suddenly Cor knows.
“Cor?”
Suddenly Cor knows what it’s like to be so frightened you can’t move.
-
Noctis’ phone rings but he doesn’t answer, it just goes on and on and on. Cor calls Gladio next, who answers at once, takes the information in stride and promises to head right over to the Leonis household. Cor tries Noctis’ phone once more and this time it doesn’t ring at all.
Which, now he’s able to think again, is the most logical solution.
Gladio pulls off his ball cap as he awkwardly takes a seat by the breakfast bar where Prompto usually sits to do his homework while Cor attempts to cook for them. It’s a surprising show of deference that Cor might laugh about under different circumstances.
“We need to put out an alert that Noct — Prince Noctis is missing,” Gladio says. “Internally at least. Sir — I’m sorry.”
“Noctis is the one that should be sorry,” Cor mutters, staring at his phone like it will suddenly ping a GPS location of wherever Noctis has dragged his son.
Which wouldn’t work even if Prompto had his phone. Even if Prompto weren’t such a good kid he’d never invade his privacy like that. For a moment he considers bringing up the concept of Noctis having it during the next security review but no — he deserves the privacy too.
It’s so obvious. They’re sixteen, Noctis has had a taste of freedom living by himself. It makes sense that he would want to push the rules, to be stupid and reckless. To pull his son into the mess right alongside him.
“Next time they better just skip school,” Cor growls, tossing his phone onto the counter.
At least then it’ll be light out, at least then Prompto would just come home at a normal time and be a little off while the guilt eats at him about the lie. Cor probably wouldn’t even need to punish him for it when he eventually found out. Prompto’s pretty good at beating himself up about things.
Gladio hops down from his stool.
“I know which of their favourite arcades are open late,” Gladio says. He always did catch onto things fast.
“Go,” Cor says.
He should dispatch an entire Crownsguard patrol, or at least go himself, but at least if it’s just Gladio they might not run off again.
-
Cor’s still reading Gladio’s Not here, moving to next location text when his phone rings.
“Prompto,” he answers, not bothering to hide his relief.
Monica had turned up just after Gladio left and she seems to suddenly stand at her full height again.
“Dad,” Prompto says, barely above a whisper. “I’m sorry.”
“Are you with Noctis?”
“Yes,” Prompto says. “We — um, we did something really dumb.”
“Yes,” Cor agrees. “You did. Where are you?”
“We wanted to go to this gig —”
“The one Noctis asked us about and was explicitly forbidden from going to because you’re both underage, it’s in a bar and was on a school night.”
Cor hears Prompto swallow.  “Yes. That one.” Prompto pauses and Cor hears Noctis speak but not the words he’s saying. “We didn’t even get in.”
“Probably because minors are prohibited without a chaperone,” Cor says. He had looked at letting them go, and he might have swung it, if not for the fact it’s a school night.
“I’m sorry,” Prompto says again.
“I’ll be right there,” Cor assures him. “Are you both safe?”
“We’re kind of hiding,” Prompto admits. “But, um. We’ll see you when you arrive.”
Cor must break every speed limit. Which is fine, he’s allowed. And it means he gets to glare at Noctis in his rear-view mirror much sooner.
“It’s my fault,” Noctis says as soon as they’re on the road. “Prompto didn’t want to do it. It was all my idea.”
“Of course, it was,” Cor says. “He’s still grounded though.”
Prompto opens his mouth, flounders, and closes it again.
“That’s fair,” he mumbles.
“Will you tell my dad?” Noctis asks miserably.
Cor hesitates long enough that Noctis physically squirms. It makes him feel a little better. “Not if you promise never to do it again,” Cor promises.
Noctis looks so relieved it's almost difficult to still be angry at him. Almost.
“Can Noctis sleep over tonight?” Prompto asks. “So, you don’t have to drive him back to his apartment?”
Cor should say no. But Prompto looks so earnest, like being separated from his best friend after what must have been quite a scare will be physically painful for him.
“Fine,” Cor agrees. “And Prompto?” His son hmms to let him know he’s listening. “Thank you for calling me.”
“Thank you for coming to get us,” Prompto returns.
“I always will.”
“Dad – do my moms know?” Prompto asks.
“How do you think I found out?”
Prompto swears quietly under his breath and Cor has to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from smiling.
