It’s My Little Monday! With...Peek a Boo Baby Sweet Stuff......Sun-Doomed version! “One day Baby Sweet Stuff had turned somewhat of a brownish color and had dark brown dots. So she decided to go outside in the sun. After the first day, the dots were a little bit lighter. So she decided to stay out in the sun for a second day. And on that second day, Mr. Sun said “NOPE!” and baby Sweet Stuff became super ruined. The end.” Usually, MLM highlights a beautiful or interesting pony, art, fact, or story...but there’s also the other side of things, when ponies go wrong. In this case, an attempt at sun-fading an already poorly Sweet Stuff made her go VERY wrong in quite a short amount of time. This condition is sometimes called sun-scorch or sun-burn. Not every pony is able to have that reaction happen to them, and probably not every ONE of the same pony is able either. There’s probably some specific chemical circumstance that brews this up. This was quite dramatic, and quite fast. Notice how the darkening isn’t consistent with the sun exposure. She was equally exposed, but there are random light dots, and super dark areas regardless. Is she ‘ruined forever’? Also no... As you can see, she was in poor shape before her incident with bad rubs on both of the dolly symbols, eye scuffs, brown spots and dry hair. I will end up customizing her with a full body re-paint and fixing her dry hair. She can become a new character because restoring this one is pointless. (Doll too difficult to fix, pony value is poor, has the PAB neck that is difficult to deal with, etc) It’s good to know about possible conditions (and risks) but also that the pony can still be turned into a character. (Who will appear here later)

Speaking of Recoome's scuffed shoulder, here it is.

It was so hot that the temperature collapsesd the miniature shelf Recoome was standing on. Thankfully this scuff was the only damage.

And honestly, it's so hard to see in person. I never really mind minor damage like this. Even worse breaks over time. Usually I can fix it.

But even if I can't, it makes for a unique piece.

At least that's what I'll tell myself!

But at the end of the day, they're just toys. Plastic and paint. They'll get damaged and deteriorate over time. There's no use crying over a little scratched paint. It's still a fantastic piece.

The very dapper Habersham

Habersham's is a felt and knit dog with a truly interesting backstory. His person wrote:

We met up a little over 6 years ago when we traveled to a little town in North Carolina to take a tour of a house we hoped to build in Ohio.  He (Habersham) was a memento of that trip and the house we fell in love with during it, and has had a spot in our living room ever since. 

Fast forward 6 years, and alas we are within weeks of moving into this very house.  The journey to get here has been long and arduous.  After so many delays we were finally able to start construction, only to have a builder steal money, followed by months of delays and hassles with a new builder.  What was intended to be a dream has been a veritable nightmare, and has taken its toll on us in more ways than I can count.

So, of course, we were excited to have Habersham come along with us to help bring some good energy and fond memories to the house.  Unfortunately our cleaning lady threw him in the basket of dog toys earlier today for some reason and before we discovered him the puppy had.  Alas, he is a little too much like me these days, tattered and a bit worse for the wear.

Here is the diagnosis photos they sent:

What you can't see, is in addition to the leg and muzzle wounds, Habersham also lost the tip of his tail. But otherwise, he really was in good shape, and still quite a dapper fellow.

The plan was just to treat his wounds, but in order to make the scars as inconspicuous as possible, we would take a small transplant of fabric from the back of his head to use to repair his muzzle, then repair the leg with new fabric as needed. No spa for Habersham, the puppy had not been particularly slobbery. :-)

Here he is, just before he went home. Wounds repaired, new nose, new tail tip, and looking dapper and dashing again, ready to grace his new home with luck, smiles, and hugs.

His family wrote:

He looks great!  Thank you for getting that done.  I love that his "patch" is on the back and hardly noticeable.

And Habersham flew home to his new Ohio home.

This was a great haul, and the battle-damaged Godzilla is my favorite. It's my favorite by a lot, actually.

I hope Ezhobi keeps that variant option going for future Godzilla releases.

This is from a PIDW QiJiu AU of mine, where a glitch in The System damages Bingge’s protagonist-halo, allowing Yue Qingyuan to overcome his trap and rescue Shen Qingqiu.

However, YQY has to draw his sword to battle LBH, and his cultivation ends up damaged and weakened. Both SQQ's body and cultivation are damaged from LBH's torture, as well.

And so, with the jianghu and demon realm thrown into disarray, QiJiu retire to a small insignificant town to lay low and heal.

They have to find new meaning in their lives after losing all their power and status, but whatever struggles they face, they'll face them together this time.

Also, they'll fuck. Cause it's a QiJiu AU.

Kier - First Sword of Death

Time to take another look at a Sideshow Toys original figure and remember that Shard, in her skin-tight bone armor, was by far not the most egregious Court of the Dead female design.

No "High heels" just because she seems to designed for people with foot kink and by artists who think women's feet are naturally arched like Barbie doll's to accomodate stilettos.

"Looks nothing like the male equivalent" marked because of course a male-coded character gets far more practical armor... despite being a spooky multi-armed skeleton with no flesh to protect.

Such an amazing amount of detail for a 6-inch collector item toy, wasted on making it a weird spank material as soon as the toy is feeemale.

I headcanon that BrightHeart walks with a permanent limp. When she was mauled by the dogs, she got some bad damage done to her nerves and one of her legs was nearly shredded to bits, but it was able to be saved

I keep thinking about a passage I read as a child in James Dobson's "Bringing up Boys" where he argues for only giving children toys stereotypical for their gender by citing a study in which girls and boys were given both trucks and a dollhouse to play with. Apparently the girls had tea parties with the trucks and the boys turned the dollhouse components into catapults. But I have found myself lately thinking- so what? Why do children have to play with toys the way adults would? What's wrong with giving girls toy trucks to play truck tea party? If the boys aren't being destructive, why not let them play besieged dollhouse? One of my favorite things about children is the unique perspective and creativity they hold: why stifle that? Why would gendered play require limiting their access to toys?
