I find it interesting the Sith eye color is not a permanent change that happens when one becomes a dark sider, but rather something that has to be maintained by a constant flow of hatred.
Like the Nightsisters of Dathomir for example clearly use the dark side for their magick, yet their eye colors are unaffected. Same with Count Dooku, he claims to be Sith yet his eyes are normal, and even Darth Sidious, Palpatine's eyes are completely normal.
Maul is an exception, not the rule. Maul's hatred is eternal and all-consuming, haunting every waking moment of his life nearly since birth. His hatred for the jedi, his master, himself. His entire life was consumed by both millenias old and new hatred, like festering wounds he refused to let heal.
The only time he ever knew peace was the moment of his death, but even then the hatred couldn't be released.

Tunorr su nī sho thol’onzhul. (Look me in the eye.)
(Toonorr soo neye shah thahl-onzh-ool.)
This is a statement used like “give it to me straight” or “come clean”. Eye contact isn’t usually done outside of intimate relationships of family or close loved ones. Otherwise it’s seen as threatening.

Theory because my brain is cluttered:
Peridea is where the Father, Son and Daughter imprisoned Abeloth (Mother)
The Force sensitive native species, the Dathomiri, began to feel Abeloth's darkness and began to worship her as 'Mother', thus the origin of their sisterhood
Abeloth eventually terrorised the Dathomiri until they revolted and their species was pretty much destroyed apart from the Great Mothers (hence the "cargo" that's being brought back to Dathomir)
Baylan knows nothing of Abeloth, so he's going towards her call with little trepidation
Ezra has Experiences with the Dark Side and so he pretty much steered clear of her call
And now Ahsoka and Sabine are there...
It's messy and probably not what happens
But it's in my brain so

Just having the terrible realisation that the thought probably is "My actual apprentices must be human, but I still want my side apprentices to be somewhat human"

I'm digging the aesthetics of both of them. Shin and Morgan.
The Witches and Siths never looked so good in live action.
Also, wowwowowow, we are getting more Dathomiri lore!
I love it. I was always super interested in them.

The end of this project is within sight, there are only two clans left after this one... The Singing Mountain Clan, and the Nightsisters. Warning, lots of fanon ahead. So today, we have the very important Spiderclan. The most reviled and hated clan on Dathomir, hated by all other clans. They splintered off the Nightsisters relatively recently, and follow the book of Shadows, but there tradtions are "all messed up" to put it mildly. The witches of the Spider-clan are called the Nightspiders, and the leader of the caln is called The Queen Mother and is a giant spider that they believe is a manifestation of the Ur-spirit of spiders. In actuality, their leader is a nightspider which who claims to "speak" for the Queen Mother. It is generally understood that this tradition is connected to the tradition of the nightsister worship of The Sleeper as an Ur-spirit of aquatic life. The Spiderclan has also taken to domesticating giant spiders found on dathomir, such as the Kiin'dray (literal translation "gaping spider") and the Baneback Spider. After the Nightssiter Genocide, the Spiderclan was the first target of the Nightsisters. With the remaining nightsisters raiding their clan and stealing children in the night. In terms of design, i based the Spider-clans tattoos on spider thorax markings, I based the male ones markings on an Orb Weaver, and the female characters markings on a generic spider I found, and the Star Wars Galaxies trading card game art. The man is Weathur, and the woman is Korse. Why these names? I dont know. Unlike the last few, these two are not dating, they are in fact... bitter Ex's, who cannot stay out of each others business and despite their best judgement keep waking up in the same bed together.

In tl4j AU, where would Merrin stand in the school v school decathlon (force Olympics)?
Like she is a nightsister, but there’s also Cal
i'm pretty sure the nightsisters at this point consist of Merrin, Ventress, and i GUESS those 3 ppl in another galaxy. you may notice this includes 0 children so merrin's options for the force acadeca are 1. give up and join team Jedi or 2. steal some of the padawans to make team nightsister and hope nobody questions it

Another of Maul, surprising no one. The sheer amount of pieces I have of this man is frankly ridiculous. Does that mean I’m going to stop making them? Absolutely not.

Dathomir Daily
Ēcosh Rīdnēr (ee-cahsh reye-dneer)
Love Song
This is a special day celebrating love in all its forms on Dathomir. It doesn’t focus on romantic love, but instead celebrates closeness and connection between family, friends, lovers, pets, and everything in between. Gifts are traditionally food or blossoms, but that isn’t set in stone either. It is simply a day to bestow gifts on those whom one loves, in any sense of the word. Many people embrace for long enough to feel their hearts beat together, a sensation of that closeness that is being celebrated, to let their hearts sing to one another.

The Rattatak origin for Asajj and Ky is very important to me because there's something so special about this bond between someone who's been raised to fight, whose parents were warlords, and a Jedi, a peacekeeper. That part is present in the canon origin, but not as much, and is only brought in later on, with Dooku: Jedi Lost's expansion on their story (which draws from the Rattatak origin so much!!!). I also think that, while Asajj is lost as a character, she should think she's right. She should think she has things backing her, at all times. Having her legacy of war and becoming a warlord herself on Rattatak means so much to her and TCW just... misses that point. The way I understand her, which is my interpretation from everything about her in Legends, she strives for power even though she has a lot of it. She has a castle on Rattatak, at least one loyal guard, a prison, and a life. Republic #60 presents this unexplored part of her story that actually adds so much to the depth of the character. She didn't choose it, not at first, but she uses the power Dooku gave her, and she has power of her own.
There's something about her in her (only) 12 Legends comic issues that gives her much more independence and character depth than I feel TCW has ever done. She is a blind servant of power, of Dooku, yes, but there's more of her. another thing that almost doesn't exist in canon, and doesn't exist in TCW at all, is Asajj and Ky's role on Rattatak.
"On her own, Asajj would have died. Left to his own devices, the stranger would have undoubtedly been captured and killed. But together they became something our world had never known... They became heroes. They ended wars and united armies. And as their legend grew..." -Osika Kirske, Republic #60
In TCW, Ky's a savior to her most of all. Rattatak isn't that much of a hostile and unfamiliar environment, and Dooku: Jedi Lost even implies he could have taken Asajj to Coruscant. But here, it's their partnership that saved them both. And they weren't only partners, they were heroes to Rattatak, a land of war and conflict. It's important that she's more than a Jedi. Rattatak was her life, not a place she as taken to as a baby. It's also important that she is from Rattatak (while Ky isn't), to not be a, you know, foreign (white) savior story. Another quote from Kirske in Republic #60 while I'm at it, about Asajj after she met Dooku.
"After her mentor's death, Ventress assembled an army. She learned new tricks from other off-worlders. She waged war on us all... She killed or captured all who would oppose her..."
Again, I don't think her being from Rattatak gives her any more right to conquer the planet (which she didn't do in TCW because god forbid she does anything but look sexy while fighting Obi-Wan in season 1), but it does make sense for her. Meeting Dooku changes her perspective, and while she still views herself as a Jedi, she feels she has more right to be a Jedi than Obi-Wan or anyone else (calling him a false Jedi). I don't think George Lucas thought all of that through when he said he wanted to make Asajj a Nightsister. Hell, I don;t think he read Republic #60. I think elements from that issue were even incorporated into the show in the first place because they just had to fill the gaps. Still, I talk a lot about how I hate that retcon and I truly do, but I never really explained it. Can't imagine this was clear as a rant but I did just want to write some of this down.
Lastly, just the concept of a fully grown Jedi learning from and teaching this feisty child how to fight in this war and how to be on this planet is. priceless. I love it.
