7. what scares you the most and why?

lol well the Anxieties™ would say failure but that's boring so: I am paralyzingly afraid of heights! It is almost 100% a subconscious physical reaction which makes it really funny sometimes because my whole body just! locks up! and won't move!! and i'm like "this is so dumb I KNOW i am fine" but my body's like "DANGER RED ALERT DON'T MOVE THE CLIFF CAN'T SEE YOU IF YOU DON'T MOVE"

both of the best occurrences of this happened at Arches Nat'l Park with my fam where I:

hiked to Delicate Arch, stood out in the photo spot, came back to the bowl and had a snack/water break and then, when we were ready to head back down....had to take off my shoes and crab walk barefoot until my body decided it was fine actually

same day, we went to Double Arch. Double Arch, as you may note, is not actually very high! I saw a great photo opp, darted forward with 0 thought (as you do), got two (2) feet off the ground. And Froze. spread eagle on this wall. Two (2) feet off the ground. 24 inches. My sister saw me, clocked what had happened, and both of started laughing hysterically while a poor woman beside us watched in mild horror

30. what’s one thing that never fails to make you happy/happier?

seeing my plants grow!! it's silly but I really do make myself take little walks around my apartment when I'm stressed and just Behold the Abundance!!! it works!

📓 tell me about a fic that lives in your head!

I started drafting a Keyleth/Vax/Gilmore sequel to the tattoo fic at one point featuring a flower shop (Keyleth's) and Figuring Out Polyamory and never got more than a few lines into the outline, but it would have been very sweet. It was going to be Keyleth's POV and have background disgustingly in love perc'ahlia and do way too much with flower language vs what people actually think when they get flowers because ~~metaphors. It was part of why Vax gave Vex flowers in the last chapter of the tattoo fic. It is... never going to happen

My opinion on why Angel×husk relationship might be hard to come true

First of all, I am not saying it won't happen, I'm saying that they're gonna need a lot of time to be official.

They are both fucked up. Im not familiar with Husks previous love life if he even had one, but I do remember that in the pilot, he said to Charlie: "I lost the ability to love years ago." and yes, Charlie was talking about the hotel there, but I don't think Husk was. so if he will begin feeling something towards angel, he will either say "fuck it" and confess OR, a more likely outcome, he will be in denial, very stubborn and will avoid Angel for the sake of avoiding his feelings until he is put in a corner and forced to say or do something. I'm guessing, and this is just a guess, that because of his demenior and the way he handles situations, he might completely avoid having anything to do with angel because maybe he believes he isn't lovable or as I mentioned before "can't love."

As for angel dust, we all know the connection he has with V@lentin0, the connection being that he sold his soul to him. I think that after all he went through and is still going through, after all the shallow sex and traumatic abuse he just isn't emotionally, mentally or physically ready for a real, healthy, honest and long term relationship. He was abused to the point where he can't tell what a real relationship is sopoused to be like. He is so deep into it that "the act" that Husk called it is not an act anymore, which is what we heard from Angel later. I think that he cannot see the difference between what's real and what isn't in the matter of connection, love and even the basic care. The abuse consumed him to the point where he became what was before only acting. And I think that with that and with Husks problems too, them being together will be very complicated to execute. But don't get me wrong, I love them, I love the ship, I do think that there is hope for them being healthy for each other once they learn how to make it that.

I dream of you amid the flowers by glittergarbage (66,967 words, Explicit) Pairing: Mollymauk Tealeaf/Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast (Shadowidomauk) Warnings: Mentions of drug use by minors typical of Volstrucker experimentation

Molly comes back after Cognouza instead of Kingsley. Old feelings stir, new feelings are born, and polyam fluff between Caleb, Essek, and Molly ensues.

Reccer Says: A classic SWM fic, to me. It's all so sweet and lovely and I adore the way Essek and Molly's relationship develops. Essek apologizing to Caleb for developing feelings for Molly so fast compared to how long his feelings for Caleb took to develop is just. Imprinted on my brain. And there's so many good moments like that! Also the side of Trent intrigue that comes into play a bit later in the fic is a very fun addition, imo :3

your touch's so sweet (throw me in the water) by quinn_of_aebradore (1,872 words, Teen) Pairing: Fjord/Caleb Widogast (Widofjord) Warnings: None

Champion of Uk'otoa Fjord and Scourger Bren meet to hook up every so often. Fjord knows it's nothing real, nothing that could go anywhere, but when Bren teleports to his ship in the middle of the night he catches himself tempted to pretend anyway.

Reccer Says: A surprising amount of yearning for an evil-AU oneshot, and it's delicious. Fjord knows Bren is a Volstrucker and he still can't resist Bren's obvious moves to manipulate information out of him. Also, it's hot. That should probably go without saying but just in case.

the stranger who was your self by Demenior (60,045 words, Mature) Pairing: Fjord/Eadwulf Grieve/Jester Lavorre Warnings: None

Running away from the fallout of the end of the Volstrucker program (and maybe something Else), Eadwulf joins Fjord's crew, swearing fealty by rather dramatically kneeling before him on the dock and making Fjord very alarmed! He becomes the captain's bodyguard (and by extension, Jester's) and explorations of loyalty and power and, eventually sexy and fraught power dynamics ensue.

Reccer Says: Mostly alternates POV between Fjord and Eadwulf, but also some (very good!) Jester POV. Slow-burn between Eadwulf (aka the Captain's Hound) and the happy couple, plus Fjorester PDA that they think they're being subtle about (they are not). Also featuring Orly not being paid enough for this, despite being paid quite well. Came for the Eadwulf/Fjord power dynamics, stayed for the character studies and also for the crew (and for the power dynamics lbr). Now a series, there's also a threesome one-shot and Orly POV fic, with another installment apparently on the way!

Three Wizards by yesthisisnarumi (1,329 words, Mature) Pairing: Yussa Errenis/Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast (Shadowidoyussa) Warnings: None

Caleb has a thing for elven wizards. Elven wizards have a thing for him. Bickering, kissing, and more ensue.

Reccer Says: There is Never enough of these three in the world and this is such a fun take on them. Caleb constantly observing the contrasts between Essek and Yussa is delicious, the jealousy (that only makes them wanna make out more) is delicious, it's all just *chef's kiss* so fuckin good.

ebb and flow, love's sweet metronome by wytch-lyghts (12,972 words, Explicit) Pairing: Fjord/Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast (Shadowidofjord) Warnings: Recreational drug use, sex while intoxicated

On-the-run, evil AU Shadowgast pays a visit to their ally and sometimes-lover, Plank King Fjord. Unsurprisingly, they fuck about it.

Reccer Says: It's so hot. Like, insanely hot. Most of the action is between Widofjord and Shadowgast, but there's still moments of Shadowfjord and they're Very Good too. These three make Such a fun triad, especially in an evil AU. The dynamics, the push-and-pull, yes, the sex, all of it is so good. My Ao3 history says I've revisited it like ten times and I nearly got sucked into it for another read while writing this recc lmao

hm well since I've spent most of the day reading trigun fic: I think Vash and Wolfwood both have enough weird loner energy + too much energy + amped up superstrength nonsense that they have a tendency to express affection (or at least play with each other) through really nonsense Mortal Kombat* play wrestling that escalates out of nowhere a la kittens attacking each other and makes Roberto (if he exists in ur canon) have weird/alarming flashbacks to college. Meryl is full of enough feral energy to join in but, unfortunately, does not have Plant strength or magic juice to heal everything

*I've never played Mortal Kombat the video game but when I was little my brother and I would play Real Life Mortal Kombat where the only rules were he wasn't allowed to pull my hair and I wasn't allowed to dig my nails in. so. that's what I'm picturing here

But like. much less cool. much more hiding in a horse's stall because he accidentally admitted he has feelings. as it goes])

Note from submitter: Ugh I have so many feelings about this fic I can't put into words but it's my favourite Supernatural fic and it contains some of the most interesting and compelling magic world-building I've ever read. You can really tell the author poured a lot of heart and soul into it. There's a very obvious love for the characters paired with a desire to expand on the existing story. I absolutely fell in love with it when I first read it.

The five love languages with: Eyeless Jack

Words of affirmation

When Jack sees you failing or giving up on something he’ll usually gently pat you on the back and give you a little thumbs up, he’ll tell you how much he believes in you and knows you can do it. If he can, he’ll help out in any way possible but if it’s something he feel you have to do yourself just be prepared for him to cheer you on

He doesn’t exactly say outright that he loves you most of the time, instead he’ll show it through little actions he does. But once in a while everyone needs to know that they’re loved, and Jack will definitely be there for you when that happens.

Acts of service

Jack really likes cooking, it’s one of the few hobbies that he actually sticks to. He likes to cook you dinner at least once a week and sit down with you at a candle lit table. Just talking <3

Occasionally he’ll make your bed for you and leave a cute little note on your pillow. 

Receiving gifts

He has a bit of an artistic side to him, not one he likes to show often but he definitely has it. Once he feels close enough to you he’ll slip little doodles he’s drawn of you under your door like you’re in prison or something. These are usually simplistic doodles but still cute.

Jack sometimes finds watches and jewelry on the body of his victims so if he finds something he thinks you’ll like he brings it to you. He went a bit too far when he tried giving you a blood covered shirt though.

Quality time 

He’s incredibly busy, he is the medic of the mansion after all. The only free time he has is late at night when most people are sleeping. And by the time he goes to bed next to you he usually collapses. But some nights when he doesn’t feel as tired he starts to feel guilty about not being with you a lot.

This usually ends with Jack trapping you in a cuddle and deciding to never let you go again. Once in a while he will have a free day and during those days he’ll assist you with shopping or go to the park with you. 

He used to be nervous about his appearance and people seeing him in public but he doesn’t mind as much now that he’s with you.  

Physical touch

Doesn’t like PDA at all, might even flinch if you try to kiss him in public. Jack likes to keep a very formal demenior and he feels weird showing affection in public.

Don’t worry it’s nothing wrong with you, he’s like this with everyone. 

In private he’s very touchy though, he’ll hold you tightly and kiss you cheek while listening to you talk about your day. He’s not the biggest fan of cuddling and what he does isn’t really even considered cuddling. It’s basically him just wrapping his body around you and snuggling his face into the crook of your neck.

I love fjords slit pupils but do you think they expand when he's excited?

I do. I am a STRONG proponent of Fjord with Silly Time eyes.

I think Fjord has eyes the size of dinner plates whenever he's excited, surprised, frightened or nervous, or just when it gets dark. So, I think he has really big eyes for a lot of reasons, including when he gets excited about something but most often just bc the lighting sucks.

@drawsmaddy and @demenior both did little sketches for this btw, here and here respectively, if you want some Silly Time posts.
