DPDRgender Pride Flag
Tumblr media
DPDRgender or DPDRnurix: a depersonalization-derealization neurogender; a gender caused by DPDR. It can be an umbrella term for DPDR-exclusive genders, gender derealization, and gender depersonalization (gender sonances related to gender dysphoria).
Similar to cloudgender, however with no references to clouds and less specific. The first colors are from depersonalisation flag, and the last ones from derealisation flag.

When humans always "dehumanise" other humans in order to justify committing genocide and other atrocities to them, you should start to imagine what they do to us, nonhumans, what we suffered in this system and what you, outer world nonhumans, may also be vulnerable to face one day.
Because that's the way humans treat us, that's what they do to us, that's how they see us.

Music as grouding technique
After a year and a half treating my anxiety disorder and depression, I got another panic attack after revisintg (not purposefuly) one of the worst places of my teenage years.
I was on the verge of depersonification, alreadly feeling like I was losing myself, and was in desperate need of a grounding technique. Luckly I was collecting little post its with my favorite musics throughout those months of treatment. It worked like a charm
I don't know if it was because I alreadly have a pretty sensitive relationship with music, but listening to the diferents types of music I loved during those months, it really made a difference. Made me realize how much i've changed. I don't know, maybe i'm just proud to have found a grouding technique all by myself in the verge of depersonification (:

It's actually crazy how, for a game famously so opened, the story of ToTK is incredibly laser focused.
Could they have included the sheikah tech somehow? The Divine Beasts? Yes, of course they could. But then they would've needed to dedicate time to explaining what those are to the new players, diverting from lore that matters to the main story.
It's bizzare, but it is definitely a deliberate writing choice. Nowhere is this more apparent then with the first sages. They didn't want them to have personality so bad, they put masks on them. You can't make this shit up, Nintendo actually went out of their way to cut out story elements that were already implicitly there, because they don't matter to the main plot. It has to have been intentional.
And yet, this is an opened world game. There are side qests in it.
If I absolutely had to bet, the deliberate effort was made reign in the scope of the main story, and the cuts were done because they didn't want to half-ass anything actually important. The idea being that if you can't do champions, sheikah, ancient sages, etc, justice, just don't do them at all. Better nothing then a disappointment, or a half baked character that adds nothing but distraction to the 2.5 scenes they're in.
Afterall, the game is already massive, dense and took 6 years to develop.
Can't say I agree with that choice, for a narrative so non-linear, you can skip basically all of it. Can't say I disagree either. But this is a choice that I can certainly say I respect.

If someone tries to dwindle your identity down to something that’s merely a passing reflection of you, I say smash the mirror. If they are to perceive you, force them to see you in your flesh. After all, we’re all bodies, aren’t we?

you know what’s the most subtle Shitty Thing™️ that Krell has done is?
bad enough he already calls the clones by their CT numbers, but he actually says the numbers different than EVERYBODY ELSE in the show.
Usually the numbers are spoken individually, right? So Rex (CT-7567) is CT-Seven-Five-Six-Seven. Or Echo calling himself CT-One-Four-Zero-Nine. Even AZI-3 says each individual 5 in Fives’ CT number.
But Krell says shit like “CT-Seventy Five-Sixty Seven” or “ARC Trooper-Fifty Five-Fifty Five”
Not only does he not use their chosen names, he also deliberately uses an abbreviated form of their birth numbers because apparently a bitch CAN be bothered to learn them all, he just can’t give the clones the satisfaction of at least hearing their full number the way it’s familiar to them. Like he somehow found a way to make their depersonification WORSE.
the bitch.

My favorite thing about headcanoning the Vinsmoke Siblings with some type of neurodivergence or disability is that they're used as a way of showing they're more human. Often, whenever there's a neurodivergent/disabled character, the show/fandom uses them as a way of saying they are not normal or natural or even human. The amount of neurodivergent-coded characters there are being non-human is worrisome. In this case, they're supposed to be machines, but their struggles to fit into those personas their father created is what makes them get out of that depersonification.

“Currently, the predominant strategy for carbon capture is through “natural” methods, namely reforestation, which comes with its own problems. But other strategies, many of them classified as geoengineering, are increasingly gaining attention, and sometimes, funding. Examples include injecting carbon pulled out of the atmosphere into cement or into bedrock, where it mineralizes; liquefying carbon and storing it in old gas and oil wells; constantly seeding the upper atmosphere with aerosols that will reflect sunlight; dusting agricultural soils with ground up minerals that increase carbon retention; or running huge offshore plantations for genetically modified algae to be used as a fuel source. The main real usage of any of these technologies, at the moment, is by the fossil fuel industry injecting captured carbon into its wells to displace oil or gas and increase output, known as enhanced oil recovery.
I agree that we need to consider all of these proposals since it is a matter of stopping mass starvation and saving species from extinction, but only if we can do so fully aware of their true dimensions.
First off, we need to consider the cane toad phenomenon, whereby interventionist technologies introduced to solve problems created by earlier interventions create even bigger problems. As Western colonial civilization fumblingly developed an interventionist, mechanical understanding of ecology, in this case in Australia, they released the giant cane toad as a predator to control runaway populations of rabbits, an earlier colonial introduction, but the cane toads ended up eating everything, decimating many native populations.
The truth is, at the intersection between knowledge and business that constitutes almost all of today’s scientific practice, there is a solid tendency to pollute first, and look into the health problems later, from plastics to PFOA to phthalates. If you dangle a dollar bill over a cliff, today’s science-driven industries will jump and assume they can use their earnings to buy a parachute before they hit the bottom.
A pertinent example of this phenomenon is how carbon capture at scale will require a massive infrastructure including a huge network of pipelines for transporting carbon from its capture site to its storage site. The fossil fuel industry are the only players in the current context with the ability to build—and profit from—this infrastructure.
And the reality is, all pipelines leak. From February 2019 to March 2021, there were around 320 “oil- and gas-related incidents” (“oil spills, fires, blowouts and gas releases”) just in the northwestern corner of New Mexico, mostly on Navajo Nation land. One such “incident” was the leakage of 1,400 barrels of fracking slurry into the local watershed.63 Shall we now build more pipelines for the sake of the environment? This is yet another proposal sopping in climate reductionism, environmental racism, and coloniality. In the case of carbon pipelines, a leak would mean death by suffocation for all animal life forms nearby.
Beyond cane toads, we need to consider the very question of what we consider to be technology. After all, the Amazon rainforest constitutes a massive technology resulting from thousands of years of intelligent and reciprocal influencing by hundreds of native peoples. Next to them, carbon capture experts are amateurs. At this point it becomes necessary to distinguish between two very different paradigms of technology. What we can call interventionist or engineered technology is a Trojan horse for beliefs of human supremacy and practices of extractivism, exploitation, and depersonification of the Other against which the technology is deployed. Today, it is fully wrapped up in the legal regime of intellectual property and the institutional framework of the profit-oriented academy, laboratory, and research institute. It is a technology of enclosure, of the alienated worldview that looks down at our lives from above in order to impose a plan that necessarily divides governors and governed, designers and inert material. On the other hand, we have popular or traditional technology, which belongs to, is developed and passed down by a community; which is territorially specific, nuanced, and reciprocal; which constitutes a form of dialogue and commoning and therefore tends to be ecocentric; and which is necessarily anticolonial.
Half of any technology is deployment, how a specific artifact is integrated and mobilized throughout society in conjunction with other technologies and organizational techniques. Currently, interventionist technologies are deployed by a massive, ecocidal infrastructure and their use is controlled by corporations governed by the need to profit. The institutional paradigm reinforces technocratic, quantitative thinking that is reductionist and blind to complex realities on the ground, putting well-meaning scientists in bed with entrepreneurs and economists, giving rise to figures like the “carbon budget” that normalize the extreme suffering and damage that are already widespread.”

Bond intros are never to be missed but Goldfinger’s is a cut above the rest when viewed in context. The nude models, inert and painted gold, are meant to be the corpses of victims of our villain. While the figure moves for the camera in all other intros here the women are fixed and dead, the camera moving across their bodies as lecherously as Bond himself would. The images, especially faces, projected on their dead forms highlight the depersonification of women in the franchise.

Also, I love glass!Tommy’s various stages of “is this guy okay?” the answer is no. He’s definitely not. And non-completed list of all glass!Wilbur’s trauma:
Anxiety, a lot of it
Unable to look at his own reflection/feeling like it isn’t his
Dehumanisation, or depersonification, he’s nothing more than a vessel (vassel?), he’s not allowed to be his own person and than mentality is completely internalised
Never being listened too and feeling useless
Feeling like he only exists to serve his country, emperor and Goddess and he’s feeling at those things because Schlatt doesn’t listen (I love the canary and bird in a caged metaphors. Wilbur is a canary in the coal mines he’s been kidnapped, he stopped singing, I wonder if Schlatt will listen to the silence or if he’ll end up dead)
Not referring to himself by his name or handing it to Tommy, not even repeating it in his mind. It’s just in there someone, but it’s not something to be used
Not sharing his age, does he even know how old he is (or more is he trying to hide how young he is, does he think that’s why Schlatt doesn’t listen to him)
(seriously, all the self blame and think something is wrong with him or he’s failing Clara for not having a clear connection with her or Schlatt not listening to him despite his best attempts)
Just, straight up not caring about getting hurt or saying anything about it. Hello? Wilbur you okay there buddy? What’s that all about? Either he just straight up doesn’t care about his body all that much because he’s that disconnected from it being his, or he thinks he deserves it for ‘failing’ Clara. I don’t know which one would be worse
The damn blindfold and the panicked reaction to Tommy trying to take it off.
Seriously, glass!Wilbur is not okay and non of the Deathlings will be pleased. Have fun getting adopted against your will or maybe extra traumatised, who knows
-🌲
yupppp all of this is accurate glass!wilbur is SO fucked up. anxiety, dehumanization, feeling like his only purpose is to serve his goddess and therefore his country- it's rough for him! also regarding him not saying anything about getting hurt, it's more just that he assumed tommy wouldn't care because, y'know, that's his kidnapper, and also he is a bit disconnected from his own body so that plays into it as well.
oh, and wilbur does know his age, just like he still knows his name. it's just something he tries not to think of. the age thing is kind of similar to the reason he's wearing a veil at the ball. it's not a strict rule (compared to giving up his name, which is a very strict rule) but it's more just a tool used to disconnect the perception of the pythia as a individual. if the people around the pythia don't see their face and don't know their age, it's easier for them to think of them solely as a vessel for Clara rather than their own person. especially when the pythia is very young (like wilbur was when he first took on the role)

Vamptober Day 1: The Monster in Me
cn: violence, depersonification
She almost feels bad about this one.  Not because of its sniveling, or the youth of its face, or the way its left arm dangles tendon-flaccid from the socket.  Not for the things it's said to her or the look in its eyes.  What she regrets, what she almost regrets is how easy it was.  If this was a more leisurely fishing trip, she'd toss this one back.  It's not sportsmanlike, picking on the little ones.
But this one isn't for leisure.  Sport is all well and good, but she’s been prowling her real prey down for days now, and hunger is hunger.  She's sure her guest understands that.  If it understands nothing else, it understands that.
“Please,”  it says again, like she can't see its broken claws scrabbling against the zip ties behind its back.  “Please, I have a family, I have sisters, I-”
“Gosh,”  Pliers says, sympathetically.  Her knees pop audibly as she crouches down to attach the pulley rope to its ankles.  It’s been a long few days, and she’s not getting any younger.  Yet.  “That sounds like a bummer for them.”

it's honestly terrifying to watch Anakin make more and more dark choices during the clone war series.
Incase skyguy stans see this and freak out yes I know that the cause of his fall into darkness was because of childhood trauma, the war itself, palpatine's grooming, as well as his own choices, and I also acknowledge that the depersonification of maul & savage (calling them its, things, and animals) occasionally done by obi wan kenobi as well as any failings in his teaching could've contributed as well.

okay so, of the cis characters in entropic float:
stephanie: canonically questioned her gender, came to the conclusion she was cis. unlocked cis+
peri and abel: even if they havent before (abel probably has), they probably would think about the possibility after the anomaly in a "just in case" way; peri strikes me as though she might lean hard into being a girl to combat the depersonification. will unlock cis+ if they havent already
touko: probably hasnt questioned her gender before and probably wouldnt now because being cis genuinely feels too natural to her. doesnt quite count as cis+ except if she gets specifically told about unlocking cis+ by questioning your gender and arriving at the conclusion youre cis she will do that on purpose
shinji: might have a secret fear of "what if im a girl but i associate the idea of being one with my kidnapper so i repress that idea too hard" but consciously he knows that if he was one he wouldnt have found it dreadful back then and is too certain he wouldve noticed if his gender changed from that time. unlocked cis+ but only uses it as a superiority badge and even thats not guaranteed
which brings us to
kanatsun: loam was right about him hes so fucking out of touch with himself. he only started questioning his sexuality due to kids teasing him for his hobbies. twenty years later he is still questioning. it will not occur to him to question his gender unless someone specifically asks him to. the only certainty i have about him not waking up in cold sweat in twenty years and going "fuck im not actually cis" is word of his profile page. unless i somehow skipped over something, he has not and will not unlock cis+

No hate to any Cullen fans. There are incredibly valid reasons to hate this man and they’re all canon.
There was Cullen discourse on twitter the other week and it was SUPER dismissive of the perspective of people who hate him. Like his writer wrote him as a creep and potential sex offender and the Cullen fans were saying “Actually HE is the victim” as if he was the only person tortured and that his captivity absolves him of the wrongs he done in his templar service to that point.
Also they spun him being a templar as if he was taken from his family when that boy LEFT said family WILLINGLY to join the templars. He signed up for the magic police academy, and yes templars are cops. because they arrest mages, abduct mages, and police the mages.
His 180 against Meredith at the literal last second got brought up as a heroic moment like he wasn’t marching to annul mages regardless of Hawke’s decision. Discounting however many dozens of mages he helps torture, murder, or worse tranquilize over the decade that DA2 covers. He outright tells a Hawke that COULD be a mage that Mages aren’t people. complete depersonification only to “change” and tell the Inquisitor to abandon mages for templars, that the mage rebellion isn’t worth saving only the templars should be chosen for the breach, but that’s “deprogramming’ from his ‘indoctrination’ despite being in lock step with his views from his entire adult life.
and the fact that his ‘redemption’ is kicking the addiction that comes with his choice to join the templars is used to wash him of his murderous, torturous, and oppressive ways is sickening. Oh his lyrium addiction is so tough, choosing the templar specialization lays that out for the Inquisitor but that in no way equals even the life of Karl from Anders’ intro quest, a fully harrow mage turned tranquil, a complete violation of his person and his life. As knight Captain Cullen oversaw and stood by those things and only saving mages and going above and beyond to COUNTERACT his behavior is redemption.
Like enjoy the guy as much as you want, I used to before I played the first two games, romance him, smooch him, lust after him, ship him whatever, but don’t ignore and twist what he has done to suit a narrative of ‘he actually didn’t do anything wrong’ when the lives of hundreds of people ruined at his hands say otherwise.

I thought ignoring and getting on with life could make me manage all the constant stress and all the shit that happened to me throughout my life but it turns out it only made me an emotionally numb, extremely anxious individual with rage outbursts who has intense episodes of depersonification and a strong urge to escape everything, who would've thought.
