Tumblr media
You grinned as the shared wall between you and your neighbor shook, signaling that the boy from next door was finally home.
Midoriya Izuku, a passionate and utterly clueless broccoli-haired boy turned fresh pro-hero, sweet and sensitive, everything you ever wanted in a partner. That, and he was clearly too shy to approach you.
You had been neighbors with him and his mom for forever but only until recently, after his admission into UA did you start to see him in another light besides platonic. And it wasn’t until he graduated that he had completely dominated your interest in another way entirely.
It was no secret that he used to be a scrawny kid but since his high school days, he had bulked up considerably.
Now, with the body of a tank and a soul bursting with positivity, you were completely hooked.
It really was astonishing to you how he continued to maintain that innocent personality after becoming a pro-hero. No one was that optimistic and oblivious all at the same time.
You had started out with smaller hints, bringing him food once a week to make sure he was eating properly, taking care of him when he was sick or injured and just too stubborn to admit it and go to the hospital, you name it and you’ve done it.
What was extremely exciting at first to be interacting with him like this dulled the moment you realized this baby was so innocent that all your signals were completely going over his head.
The dumb baby. Your dumb baby.
He was fast approaching 20 but you were willing to bet he hadn’t even gotten laid yet. With the way he walked, it was as if he was still the same kid you had met ten years ago.
Your parents had long since moved out of the apartment, going closer to where your grandparents were since they were getting older and needed to be taken care of. You had politely declined their invitation to go with, asking if you could take over the lease on the place since they would no longer be living here.
As their only child, they had a soft spot for you and let you do as you pleased now that you were old enough to be living on your own. They even helped you out with the rent even though that was entirely unnecessary.
Your day job paid enough.
An upbeat tune floated throughout your apartment and you danced along to the music in nothing but a thin cami and a pair of scarlet lace panties. Since it was so hot today, you had decided to forgo actual clothes. It was perfect, but you were definitely still sweating.
Tapping a finger to your chin thoughtfully, you recalled how your adorable and hot neighbor’s mom was out working all day and wouldn’t be back until late. Plus, you knew that he had no hero work today, courtesy of the boy telling you himself via text when you checked up on him earlier this week.
Pulling an oversized t-shirt over your head so that it brushed just below your thong clad ass and fell off of your shoulders, you fluffed your hair, giggling to yourself at your reflection in the mirror.
Today was the day you would make Midoriya yours.
Grabbing a few cookies from the kitchen that you had made just last night because you felt like it at that moment, you flung open your front door, knocking on his a second later.
Hopping in place excitedly, you couldn’t contain your enthusiasm. You hadn’t even bothered to message him that you were coming over, knowing that he would prefer it be a surprise.
“Izuku!!” You cheered when the door opened, immediately thrusting the plate of cookies out towards him.
He staggered a couple steps back, unprepared for your sudden attack but rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish smile, emerald eyes shining with gratitude.
Midoriya bowed gratefully. “Thank you, Y/N!!”
It had taken literally years before he was comfortable calling you by your first name without any honorific attached to the end of it. But it was worth the wait as warmth sparked through your heart and a soft smile adorned your features before it was replaced with a mischievous one.
Bounding up to him, you pressed your chest against his purposefully, making it so that you almost lost your balance. You gasped in mock surprise when he instinctively wrapped his arms around your waist to catch you, relishing in how strong his arms felt around you.
Midoriya stuttered as your boobs were practically smushed against his face by how close you were to him. Were they always that big?!
It wasn’t like he masturbated to you everyday or anything. Definitely not.
He groaned, throwing his head back as your body heat encompassed him.
Who was he kidding, he jerked off to you every spare second he got. He couldn’t help it though. Your beautiful smile always beckoning him over, those alluring eyes of yours enticing him closer and closer until he felt as though he could combust merely by standing in your presence alone.
Giggling, your teeth sank down into your bottom lip and you batted your eyes at him. A shudder ran down his spine and you bit back a smile at the blush that sat on his freckled cheeks.
“Do you want to come over for a little while?” You asked softly, feigning shyness and you rubbed your thighs together. “I have something I want to show you.”
The action didn’t go unnoticed and Midoriya’s mouth dried as the swell of your breasts peeked up over the low scoop of your shirt when he glanced down.
“Uh, y-yes?” He uttered, voice shaking with uncertainty as he automatically agreed to what you had asked him without even thinking about it.
You giggled, eyes lighting up in excitement. “Great!!”
He stumbled after you as you dragged him next door to your apartment, losing his balance and falling on the couch as you pushed him inside.
Your eyes shifted from playful to concern as he landed on his back with an ‘oomph’.
You were quick to cup his face, examining him closely. “Oh no, Izuku, are you alright?”
“Y-Y/N!!!” He stammered out, face bright red at your proximity.
“Are you alright?” You repeated, uncharacteristically serious and seeing as how you were asking him more than one question, he nodded to both.
You chuckled, leaning in close. His cheeks burned at your proximity and although you wanted so badly to tease him, you needed to get something straight first.
“You ever been fucked before, baby?” You cooed sweetly and a visible shiver shot down his spine.
He gaped for a moment, not used to you saying something so brazenly but shook his head wordlessly.
You smiled, your tone taking on a gentle lilt as you sensed his nervousness. “Want me to be your first?”
This time he didn’t hesitate.
“Yes.” He whispered, barely breathing as he finally confessed what he had been longing for ever since he turned of age. “Want you so bad.”
You didn’t outwardly show it, but your heart skipped a beat at his admission and the butterflies fluttered uncontrollably.
“Yeah?” You bit your lip to contain the wide smile. “Something tells me that you want to be played with, am I right?”
A whine bubbled past his lips and your smile turned wicked. Oh, you were going to have so much fun with him. You wondered how he would look when you played with his nipples, which you sure would be so sensitive it would have him hard in a heartbeat, or how he looked writhing under you when he was about to cum.
Anticipation thrummed through your veins and you couldn’t believe that after all this time, you finally had the opportunity to give him that kind of pleasure.
“Such a good boy.” You crooned softly and he audibly keened, stretching towards you desperately as you denied him a kiss. “What’s your safeword, baby?”
Midoriya’s head was spinning and his brain was short-circuiting from how unbelievably close you were to him. The sweet smell of your perfume flooded his senses and he swallowed thickly, very much aware of how little clothes you were wearing. You had yet to touch him and he was already a goner.
“S-Safeword?” He stammered out, his eyes shutting automatically as you threaded your fingers through his hair, a small moan breaking through the weighted silence as you scratched his scalp.
You observed his every move, every flutter of his lashes as he fell under your spell without even trying to succumb.
“Mmhm…” You hummed. “A word that you can use at any time and I’ll stop everything.”
A safeword was for both parties but you were fairly sure that you wouldn’t need it, being more experienced than him and aware of your boundaries. But just in case, you whispered that little tidbit of information in his ear so that he wasn’t left out of the loop.
“What if…” Midoriya gulped, restraining himself to keep his hands at his sides no matter how desperately he wanted to kiss you. He wanted to know if they were as soft as they looked. “C-Can’t I just tell you to stop?”
You frowned a tiny bit, not put off by his question but rather how fucked out he looked already. The poor boy was already straining in his pants, the bulge making your mouth water but you kept your head on straight.
“You can.” You agreed. “If that’s what you want, we can do that.”
He glanced away from you, thinking hard. He wasn’t all innocent. He had watched porn before when dared to by Bakugou after one of the class movie nights at Heights Alliance back when they were at UA, and he was embarrassed how quickly he got attached to the videos that had bondage and overstimulation.
It always looked so enticing. He wanted to know what it felt like to be pinned down and overpowered until pleasure rode on every one of his senses.
He wanted you to do that to him.
“W-What about if I just used your name?”
Midoriya cringed as soon as he suggested it and took it back faster than you could react, another idea tumbling out of his mouth in a split second.
“Black?” He whispered, avoiding eye contact with you.
Baby boy blinked so nervously, worried you might refuse or reject him for any reason and you took his chin in between your thumb and forefinger, drawing his face close to yours.
“Alright baby, that’s perfect.” You reassured softly. “Either one of us can use it and then everything stops, okay?”
He nodded, getting more excited as your breath fanned across his lips.
“Need to hear you say it.” You demanded quietly.
His green curly hair bounced as he nodded vigorously. “I understand!!”
Midoriya stiffened for a moment in surprise as you finally pressed your lips against his, sealing his first kiss and he swore his heart stopped beating. Then, he melted into putty as you moved your lips skillfully against his, coaxing him to return it with as much lust and passion as you were igniting within him.
You pulled away to lean in close to his ear, trailing a finger up and down his chest playfully.
“Let me take care of you, Izuku~” You cooed, slyly licking the shell of his ear, savoring in the shiver that shot down his spine as a result of your ministrations.
You continued down, planting hot and wet open-mouthed kisses along his jaw as he whined and wriggled beneath you. Trailing down his neck to his collar bones and then his bare chest as you ripped open his shirt in one swift movement, you pinned his wrists above his head.
A protest ripped from his throat at your display of dominance.
“Y-Y/N!! I wanted to—”
“To what?” You questioned smugly.
Midoriya whimpered pathetically and you smirked.
He blushed, looking away. The boy was built like a bull but was an absolutely softie, innocent pure little bean at heart. He didn’t have what it took to take over.
“You wanted to touch me?” You asked, laving your tongue around one of his sensitive nipples. “You wanted to be on top?”
His face scrunched up at the strange sensation, biting the inside of his cheek to keep from crying out as you bit down on the tender flesh.
You licked your lips seductively, making a show of your tongue grazing over your teeth as you gazed down at him through hooded eyes. “Do you think you deserve to touch me after being such a bad boy?”
You heard him every night. The walls were thin in the cheap apartment complex you lived in. Too thin.
“Don’t touch me until I say so.” You ordered.
You heard every wanton moan that bubbled past his pouty lips, such pretty little sounds that you wanted to hear all for yourself. You were jealous of the others in the vicinity that can undoubtedly hear him as well. The only thing that settled your heart at ease was the luscious cries of your name falling from his lips.
And now, all your neighbors would know just who he belonged to.
Midoriya gulped nervously and you reveled in the adrenaline pumping through your veins at being in control and dominating him. Your shirt rode up as you straddled his hips, and he wriggled beneath you, wanting nothing more than to touch you.
You trailed a finger from his chest all the way to his navel, teasing the waistband of his pants. He whined as you wiggled your ass down to sit comfortably on top of his thighs. Deftly unbuttoning his jeans, your eyes flickered back up to him.
“Oh my, these look so uncomfortable.” You mock pouted, sneakily biting the zipper of his fly and pulling it down. “Do you want me to take them off for you?”
You grinned as he involuntarily bucked his hips up into your feather-light touch, tears collecting at the corner of his eyes in frustration. Slowly pulling down his pants and boxers together, your eyes bugged out as you saw what he was packing.
“Oh…” You mused. “I wasn’t expecting this.”
If you thought he was big, you were dead wrong. This boy was hung as a horse. Well endowed to the max, he was easily packing eight inches and you couldn’t even fit your hands all away around his thick girth.
You stroked him as best as you could but judging by that guttural groan that erupted from his mouth, you’d say you were doing a pretty good job.
“Please!!” Midoriya begged, practically sobbing as you teased him and it was like music to your ears. “Please, Y/N, make me feel good!!”
“Yeah,” You whispered, suckling on the vein that ran on the underside of his stiff member. “You want me to make you cum, baby?”
“Yes, please!!” He cried, fisting the fabric of the sofa, remembering your rule not to touch you yet.
But it was killing him.
The foreplay had made you wet enough to take him and you weren’t keen on waiting another second longer.
Positioning yourself over his leaking head, the tip of his engorged shaft rubbed against your puffy folds as you pushed your thong to the side.
Midoriya’s eyes bulged out of his head as he saw the red lace and he couldn’t stop his hands from shooting to your waist as you threw your shirt up over your head, leaving you in that thin cami that left nothing to the imagination.
“F-Fuck—” You cursed as you sank down on him, thighs trembling from the effort of taking him. “Izuku, baby, you’re so big.”
He was rock hard and pressing against your inner walls just right. It had been so long since someone had filled you up like this and now that you had him, no one even came close to any of those prior.
Midoriya was huffing, moaning uncontrollably as the rush of pleasure he got by being encased in your tight heat so quickly. His hands gripped your hips, kneading the flesh of your ass as he started to rock you back and forth in his lap.
You completely ignored the fact that he disobeyed your order.
“Dumb baby,” You cooed softly. “Does that pussy feel good around your cock? Huh? Tell me.”
“Yes— hhgh, I love it so much, Y/N, you feel so tight, ahh!!” He mewled, unable to think of anything else except how good your cunny felt fluttering around him.
His face was beautifully flushed, unable to tear his gaze off of where his cock had disappeared into you. The sticky wetness smeared against his hip bones made your arousal evident and he was impossibly turned on at the vision in front of him.
You threw your head back as he took over control, gyrating your hips for you before you were even adjusted to his massive length. A breathy moan tumbled out of your lips as his fingers knotted their way into your hair, yanking it back so that your hips canted into him with every thrust.
“I-Izuku!!” You moaned loudly as he roughly and sporadically pounded into you.
You squealed as he pulled you down to his chest to get a better angle, all the breath vanishing from your lungs as he planted his heels and fucked up into you so fast that you would’ve fallen off from the force if he wasn’t holding onto you with an iron grip.
“Sorry, Y/N!!” He broke off with a whine and burrowed his face into your neck as you clenched around him, his hips stuttering. “But I’m about to—”
You shrieked as he released inside of you, painting your walls with his thick, milky white cum. Chest heaving, you pushed him down and straightened up, clicking your tongue.
“Such a selfish baby.” You crooned, controlling your breathing enough to put up a confident front. “I didn’t even get to cum yet.”
His eyes widened in horror at not satisfying you first. “Oh, Y/N, I’m so sorry, I didn’t— Gah!!”
His earnest apology was interrupted  as you began bouncing on him again, keen on reaching your high. His spent length twitched inside of you and he whimpered, eyes screwed shut at the pain.
“Y/N!! It… It hurts!!” Midoriya whimpered pitifully, his eyes screwed shut at the overstimulation.
“Aw,” Your smile was sadistic and you threw your ass back into his lap intentionally, causing him to throb within you. “Does it?”
“Yes!!” He cried out. “Fuck, please stop!!”
You pouted sadly, gyrating your hips faster. “But I haven’t even cum yet.”
It was too much. Your words spun with those sinful rocks of your hips was making a lethal mix of pain and pleasure shoot through his system and he whined, pawing at your hips.
“Y/N, please!!” He begged, unsure what he was begging for at this point.
It didn’t take long for him to get hard again. You weren’t sure if his short refractory period was a side effect of his power or the fact that he had just lost his virginity to you and wanted you again, but you were definitely going to oblige him either way.
Midoriya arched into your scalding touch as you leaned down to kiss him once again. Your soft lips and the hot cavern of your mouth distracted him as your tongues danced together and he almost forgot about the fact that he was balls-deep inside of you.
Until you started to move again.
His cry was muffled as you licked it out of his mouth before pulling away.
Your grin widened and you rocked your hips back and forth at a mind-blowing pace, reducing the blubbering boy beneath you into a whimpering mess.
But your confident façade soon vanished as his hands found purchase on your hips and bucked up wildly.
The grin slipped off your face and you whimpered, fingers splaying on his bare chest for balance as he went wild, fucking up into you with abandon.
You could do nothing else other than hold on and pray you wouldn't fall off of him as he took over.
Biting your lip, you desperately tried to regain control. “Izuku—”
He gritted his teeth, ignoring you and your eyes widened as green lightning started to surround his body.
Your eyes widened. “Wait—!”
He didn't.
Your head tipped back and the loudest scream you've ever produced ripped from your throat as he used One for All to completely destroy your pussy. But to your disbelief, he didn’t stop, he didn’t even slow down when you contracted around him.
His hips slammed up into yours at a breaknecking speed and tears blurred your vision as you cried out, sobbing with pleasure as he finally made you cum.
“Y/N, you’re milking my cock so much!!” Midoriya blurted out with a raspy moan as another orgasm spiraled to you and you shrieked, this one hitting harder than the last.
At some point, you blacked out.
When you came to, Midoriya was hovering over you worriedly, his green eyes glistening with concern as he called your name over and over again.
Sitting up with a groan, you realized that he had laid you down on the couch and covered you with a blanket.
“Y/N?” The boy asked, brushing the hair out of your eyes as he sat down by your side.
You offered him a smile, every bone in your body protesting as you sat up. Midoriya was helping you in a second, ignoring your feeble protests that you could do it yourself.
The next minute, he played with his fingers awkwardly.
“Was… Was it good for you?” He asked timidly, blinking his big eyes up at you.
You cracked a smile at how earnest he was. Cutie.
“Of course it was.” You murmured, planting a soft kiss on his forehead before staring straight into his eyes. “You know this means you're mine, right?”
Midoriya blinked his doe eyes, mouth parting slightly. “Eh?!”
You smirked. “Yup.”
“Really?!?!” He asked excitedly, leaning forward to stick his face close to yours and you giggled.
Adorable. Simply adorable.
“Yeah, baby.” You whispered, cupping his face and pecking his freckled cheek. He was so sweet. So pure.
You couldnt wait to defile him more. Wait until he was exposed to the world of BDSM.
Licking your lips slyly, you smirked. “You’re all mine.”

Sana laughs loudly with the other members, all except Nayeon, who just got yet another add four card from Tzuyu and begrudgingly begins to pull them off the pile in the middle. Twice sits in the living room, all of the girls playing a heated game of Uno with the card pack Lily’s mom sent her a few months ago. As more members get rid of all their cards, Sana notices Lily and Chaeyoung are nowhere to be seen. Once her cards are gone as well, she gets up to try and find them.
“-ask them to be quieter if that would help,” Sana hears Chaeyoung say quietly as she eases the door to the maknae line’s room open.
“No, unnie, it’s okay,” Lily responds.
“Lily, if you’re in pain they’ll be okay with being quieter.”
“No, I’m fine.”
“Lily.”
“I don’t want to disturb their fun.”
Sana can hear Chaeyoung sigh.
“Lily? Are you okay?” Sana asks, entering the room fully.
Sana finds Lily curled up in her bunk, facing the wall. Chaeyoung is sat beside her on the bed, soothingly running a hand over her hair.
“Yeah,” Lily says, voice muffled by her pillow.
“She has a headache,” Chaeyoung tells Sana.
“It’s not that bad.”
“Lily, you were almost crying when I came to check on you.”
“You don’t have call me out like that.”
Sana can’t help but giggle a little as she kneels beside Lily’s bed and rubs the youngest girl’s back. Her smile fades as another wave of laughter and screaming comes from the living room and Lily buries her face a little further into her pillow.
“Why don’t you ask us to be quiet, then?” Sana asks.
“You all are having fun; I don’t want to be a spoilsport.”
“She won’t let me go tell them to quiet down a little,” Chaeyoung tells Sana.
“Well, why don’t we go somewhere quiet then?” Sana offers.
“Like where?” Chaeyoung asks for Lily.
“There’s a comic book cafe not too far where we can go and read a little, get a snack, nap if you want to.”
“That’s a great idea.” Chaeyoung looks down at Lily and leans over her to try and find her eyes, “How does that sound?”
Lily’s quiet for a moment, not responding or moving.
“That sounds good,” she finally says.
“Okay, then. Let’s go do that.”
After getting ready, the three girls are ready to head out.
“We’re going to a comic book cafe,” Chaeyoung tells the other members still in the living room.
“Okay, be safe,” Jihyo says.
The three girls take the bus and then walk a few minutes to get to the cafe. The walls are covered with shelves completely filled with comic books. Down a hallway to the left, the girls can see a sign telling them where the reading cubicles are. Luckily, it’s not busy.
They pick out a few comics each then head farther back in the store. They pay for some snacks then settle into one of the cushioned cubicles.
“I feel like we haven’t spent time together in ages,” Chaeyoung says as they eat some snacks. “You’re always so busy with promoting and emceeing and going on variety or radio shows.”
“Yeah. It seems like I’m more busy promoting solo than I am when the whole group is,” Lily muses.
“How are you liking it?” Sana asks, “Performing solo?”
“It’s a lot of fun,” Lily says happily but her mood changes quickly, “But I miss having you guys around. It gets lonely backstage.”
“You say that like you couldn’t walk into some random dressing room and become friends with any group, their managers, and their stylists,” Chaeyoung teases.
Lily laughs.
“Why don’t we arrange a day to come visit you?” Sana offers. “I know Jeongyeon and Nayeon have come to see you, but we could all drop by one day if you want.”
“Really?” Lily asks hopefully.
“Of course!” Sana answers.
“A lot of us have been meaning to come to one of your music shows,” Chaeyoung says. “We’ll all definitely come.”
“Please do,” Lily says. “Our manager could drive you to Inkigayo in a few days.”
“We’ll talk to her about it,” Sana promises.
Finished with their conversation, they settle in to read for a while. It doesn’t take long for Lily’s busy schedule to catch up to her, making it hard to focus on the pictures and words on the pages of her book. She gives up after a bit and sets her comic to the side. She opts to crawl over to Sana and cuddle up next to her, using the older girl’s stomach as a pillow. Only a few minutes later, Lily is fast asleep.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Sana shakes Lily gently, “Lily flower, it’s time to wake up.”
Lily lets out a little groan but opens her eyes.
“There she is,” Chaeyoung smiles at her from Sana’a other side.
“What time is it?” Lily asks groggily.
“9:30,” Chaeyoung tells her, “You slept for about an hour.”
“Sorry,” Lily mumbles, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
“It’s fine, that’s kind of why we brought you here,” Chaeyoung says.
“But we figured the others must be done being loud,” Sana says. “And we can get boba on the way home.”
Lily gasps, “Bubble tea!”
With a renewed sense of her usual energy, Lily shoves her shoes on and climbs out of the reading cubicle she’d slept in. She takes all three of their comics to put them back on the shelves as the two older girls put their shoes on. Lily is all but skipping as they leave the comic book cafe to head for the closest boba shop.
“I’m guessing your headache is gone,” Sana says, Lily’s arm through hers as the younger girl practically drags her down the sidewalk.
“Mhm, all better,” Lily says.
“Here we are~,” Chaeyoung sings as they reach the boba shop.
They reemerge a few minutes later with drinks in their hands. Sana’s is a raspberry-based boba drink and Chaeyoung opted to get peach green tea. Lily stuck to traditional milk tea flavored with strawberries. They’re quiet on the way back, all sipping their drinks in comfortable silence.
They reach their apartment building about twenty minutes later. After riding the elevator and getting out on their floor, Lily speaks up as they walk down the hallway toward their dorm.
“You were serious about coming to see me at a music show, right?” Lily asks.
“Of course, we were,” Chaeyoung says.
“Yeah, we’ll talk to the girls tonight and text our manager in the morning; we’ll come to see you,” Sana promises.
“Okay, good,” Lily says.
Any further comment any of the girls would have made is cut off as Chaeyoung opens the dorm door.
“LILY! There you are! We have to go right now!”
Lily’s personal manager grabs the girls arm before she can even enter the dorm, steering her back down the hallway she’d just walked down.
“NCT Night Night is in an hour and you’ve still got to go the salon and get your hair and makeup done then we’ve got to drive to SBS and met your stylist and get you dressed and-“
Her manager continues rattling off all the things they need to do to get her ready for her guesting on NCT’s radio show that night. She manages to look back at Sana and Chaeyoung before being hauled into the elevator and back down to street level.
“Make sure to talk to the others about coming to Inkigayo!” Lily calls to them.
“We will!” the two girls shout back.
They’re able to see Lily smile brightly at them before getting yanked into the elevator to hurry off to get camera ready.

Sometimes those ghosts are real and perfectly catchable. - Younger siblings: Brother, followed by sister. Both are proud of their brother but don’t really get him. His youngest sister gave Lyra his phone number. - Grandfather: Galarian and thus doesn’t know every Kantonian/Johtonian pokémon. Good-natured. Physicist. Miiiiiight have worked on some top-secret Galarian projects, which might explain why skipped regions to go live in Johto back in the 60s. - Claims that the children of the kimono girls from his mom’s former troupe are his cousins. The only one who entertains this idea is gym leader Valerie. He has never met his mother’s actual family, nor does he know who they are.
Character Notes: - Animeverse but not really. Lives in a decomissioned lighthouse called the Sea Cottage because, as he puts it, “I can.” Also speaks with a very posh accent, dyes his hair green, and dresses like the Doctor, if not a gentleman from a steampunk webcomic. - Possesses wit drier than Orre. It’s often hard to tell whether or not he’s serious when he says he doesn’t know what’s up, but if it helps, just remember that the rock that he lives under has Kanto’s best wifi. - Would totally be an anarchist if he wasn’t egotistical enough to believe he can fix the system if they’d just listen to his friendly suggestions(, president of the Pokémon Association). - Worships Ho-oh and absolutely takes Ho-oh’s sacred flames in vain when startled/under stress. (The other Johtonian legends are technically his gods too, but he doesn’t take them as seriously.) - Strong believer in “do as I say, not as I do.” Will give people plenty of advice to not do stupid things, yet will do stupid things for science. - Thinks all life on Earth is worthy of respect. Unless you’re disrespectful to life on Earth, at which point, fuck you. (Note: Not an anti-abortion statement.) - Pacifist. This, combined with the fact that he’s not that great at strategy under pressure, is why he failed his gym challenge pretty hard. (He wasn’t that half bad of a trainer, though.) - Has accidentally merged himself with, in order: Primrose (the original Clefairy Incident—canon), rattata (canon), nidorino (canon), and finally flygon (powerverse). No one quite knows how he’s managed to do this unintentionally three times, but there you go. (Note: Everyone knows about the Clefairy Incident because Red is a snitch.) - Other canon facts: lactose intolerant, loves eevee (but also every other pokémon too), often unshakably bubbly regardless of circumstance. - List of confirmed crushes includes: the Goldenrod Flower Shop girl, Steven Stone, probably Lanette. - Apparently calls Lanette “luv” and “love” if he wants something. - Collects pokémon, comic books, and houseplants. Really likes superhero comic books in particular. Spinarakman is his jam.
---
Lanette Hamilton (“LH”)
Age: 28 (Six months older than Bill.)
Pronouns: she/her
Orientation: Bi with strong leanings towards men
Race: Mixed (Hoennian/Unovan, with some distant Galarian heritage)
Birthday: July 2
Occupation/Employer: Pokémon researcher, software engineer, admin of the Hoenn storage system. Employed by the Hoennian branch of the Pokémon Cutting-Edge Technology Research Institute but does contract work with Devon as well ... much to Bill’s chagrin.
Pokémon: - Mary: Alcremie, F (Adorable baby of the team.) - Evening: Galarian ponyta, F (Full name is Princess Evening Glimmer of Ponytaville Castle. Asshole ponyta who likes showing her affection with a well-aimed Psychic.) - Lacroix: Budew, M (Asshole budew who once dynamaxed and misses it.) - Ariel: Clefairy, M (Asshole clefairy who hates dragons. Apparently has a crush on Primrose and thinks her tinkering is adorable.) - Neptune: Swampert, M (Lanette’s starter. Brawns over brains. Pretty much watery Lucky. Enjoys chilling out in rivers/with Lucky instead of doing any actual guardwork.) - Sam: Medicham, M (“Sam” might have at one point been short for “Samsara”; Lanette realized this was not cool after she grew older. One of Lanette’s usual right-hand pokémon. Calm. Cool. Will punch you through the earth if ordered to do so. Can mega evolve. Serves as Lanette’s sounding board whenever Brigette isn’t around.) - Boxed: Skadi (Glalie, F), Braeburn (Applin, Mwas going to evolve into an appletun but then just didn’t), Raijin (Manectric, M), Pepper (Flareon, F) - Formerly: Bill
Family: - Parents: Divorced. Both remarried. Lanette doesn’t talk about them much and is apparently not close with them at all. They were apparently both wealthy, however, which is how Lanette wound up going to pretty exclusive schools with no problem. - Older sister: Brigette, manager of Pokémon Bank. Extremely supportive of her sister but tends to take the “idgaf” road when it comes to admin shenanigans. Lanette shares everything with her. (Everything.)
Character Notes: - ORAS version. Short hair. Cute dress. Don’t talk to her about that one time she wore pigtails. Collects plush pokémon. - Most people say Bill is the leader of the admins but actually think Lanette is. - Is the Team Mom. - Routinely keeps Bill from doing stupid things (except for that one time that they’re still working through). - Was roped into being the editor of the blog because someone had to do it. - Is perfectly aware that she more enables Bill than stops him from doing stupid things. - Is still, like, all of his impulse control and half of the impulse control of the other admins. - All of this, and she’s disorganized af. Her lab is a disaster. It’s only by Bill’s own will that his lab isn’t right now, now that she’s basically living at the Sea Cottage. - Bill might have invented the storage system, but she’s the one who gave it a GUI, hammered out most of its flaws, and beat the entire concept of user-friendliness into its inventor’s head until he stopped putting text command boxes on everything. - Likes cooking and loves sweets. Will fight you for cake. - Was at one point a coordinator and thus has an excellent eye for making things that are functional but also hella pretty. Earned almost all of the Hoenn ribbons before calling it a day. And she gave it up not because she wasn’t good at it but instead because she got really hella fed up with the culture surrounding contests at the time. - Still participates in Fallarbor contests now and then, just for fun. - Was apparently the one who reached out to Bill in the first place, rather than the other way around. That is to say, Bill was “the weird ghost kid” in Celadon University’s library until Lanette finally popped up and said, “Hi. You’re my friend now.” And they’ve been together ever since. - Bill routinely says the above event was seven years ago. This was actually when they were both thirteen. - Not-so-secretly loves cute, sparkly things, especially if they can kick your ass. (See: Princess Evening Glimmer of Ponytaville Castle.) - Not-so-secretly likes Steven Stone, Milo, and practically every other man (and some women) who’s cute and capable of holding their own in battling. (Much to Bill’s chagrin.) - Is perfectly aware that Bill not-so-secretly has a thing for her and thinks it’s adorable. Cares pretty deeply about him, at least as a friend, and absolutely wants to see him happy ... which is really why she’s often quick to shoot down his more reckless ideas. - Unironically likes romance movies and mysteries. Watches Groovy Froo (Scooby Doo but with a furfrou).

Seeing The Thing 6
Tumblr media
Summary: How close is too close?
Word Count: 3.3k
Warnings: none
A/N: bold indicates text messages! Masterlist in bio!
“Y/N? You ready?” You hear Harrison shout from the stairwell.
“Be there in a moment!” You shout back, dodging around him and jogging down the stairs.
“Hey Haz, ready to eat your weight in Tonight Dough?” You ask, slinging your arm around his shoulder as you greet Harrison at the bottom of the stairs.
“That might be a bit of an exaggeration,” he laughs.
“Only a little though,” you say as he squeezes your side lightly.
“Where’s Tom?”
“Maybe he ran to the bathroom?” You say as the two of you wait by the door.
Tom’s footsteps come barreling down the stairs moments later, “hey,” he mumbles, eyes locked on Harrison’s arm resting across your waist, your head gently resting on his shoulder.
“Ice cream time?” Harrison asks, and you nod.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Tom sighs, arms crossing over his chest.
***
“I’m telling you, the scene will look crazy ridiculous if we have to strip off 9 layers,” Tom argues as you and Harrison snicker over your ice cream.
“Tom, there are children here, geez,” you joke looking around at the mass of families and other college students huddled around tables at Ben & Jerrys.
“All I’m saying is, it won’t be funny it’ll be stupid.”
“No, no, no, this is like the funniest moment in the whole show, promise,” Harrison nods.
“Yeah, I mean it’s just comical, yes logically you’ll have layers on from being out in the cold, but not this many layers, so to take them all off and then finally the climax of the show, Dave shows Rhonda what’s next, the big hooray of the show. The one actually happy ending,” you ramble.
“You talk a lot when you get excited about stuff,” Tom gets out between licks of his ice cream.
“It’s good, I love hearing you talk about things that interest you,” Harrison says immediately after he feels your body tense next to him. His hand not holding his ice cream was resting lightly on your waist, a nice anchor to reality.
“I wasn’t saying it’s a bad thing, just an observation,” Tom mumbles, slouching in his seat.
“So you’re really going to rehearse the scene again tomorrow?” Harrison asks, changing the subject.
“If you still want to?” Tom asks, eyes moving between yours and Harrison’s hand on your waist.
“Whatever I need to do to get this scene looking like the rest.”
“And what’s that supposed to mean?” Tom asks, elbows leaning on the table between you and him.
“I just mean, Harrison is a great director, I want my scene to be the same caliber as his.”
“So you’re saying you’re stuck with the shit new guy who doesn’t know how to act?”
“Did I say that?” You frown, it wasn’t Tom you were worried about. You were worried that you didn’t do a good enough job directing the scene, planning it and executing it as well as Harrison did with the rest of the scenes. You were afraid your insecurities in your abilities would bubble to the surface and you didn’t want Tom to poke fun at them.
“It will be, I have literally no doubt in my mind,” Harrison says, smiling at you softly before sitting up more in his seat.
“Should we get going?” You ask, ready to cut the night short. It made you remember why you didn’t like Tom very much in the first place. Why you couldn’t hang out with him when you were with Harrison. Every time you said something he would follow it up with a question, constantly badgering you about literally anything. At first you thought it was harmless, he was just curious about you as a person. You soon realized he was just being annoying. He must’ve figured out that you hated getting asked questions you didn’t know the answer to, he saw how your top lip would quiver and your brow would sweat and tears would well up in your eyes because you didn’t know and you didn’t want to look like an idiot.
“Seriously,” Tom starts but Harrison cuts him off with a look.
“You know what, could I stop by CVS before we go back to the dorms?” You ask as you all throw out your ice cream.
“Yeah I needa grab a few things too,” Harrison says, slinging his arm around your shoulder.
Tom huffs and drags his feet, reluctantly following the two of you out of the ice cream shop and down the road to CVS.
You and Harrison part as you grab what you need to grab, you were here because you had an idea to improve Tom and Nikk’s chemistry for the scene but you didn’t want to make it seem like you were directly targeting the two of them. You filled your arms with your favorite chapstick, the kind Tom seemed to like just as much as you did. You grabbed those mini packs of tissues, mini hand sanitizer bottles, and you were about to grab a box of plastic sandwich bags when you felt a hand on your shoulder. You flinched, shaking it off and turning around.
“Can you not do that?” You ask, voice teetering on annoyance as your arms start to shake.
“Do what?” He asks, crossing his arms in front of him.
“Touch me.”
“Jesus prude much - oh wait.”
“You’re an asshole,” you fight back, voice rising in anger and anxiety.
“Yeah, I am, fuck off.”
“Gladly,” you scoff, walking away.
Your legs shake as you walk to the register, Harrison is close behind with a bottle of shampoo.
“What’s all this? Care packages?” He raises an eyebrow as you set everything onto the counter.
“For the show, everyone keeps getting sick, so I figured this can help them.”
“What’s the chapstick for?” He asks with a laugh.
“Well you know how it is, everyone’s lips get chapped since it’s so cold, so this’ll help.”
“Strawberry? Isn’t that the one you use?”
“Yeah,” you shrug as you pay for everything and grab your bag.
“What’s this for?” Tom asks, appearing behind you like a fucking phantom, you almost jump but don’t want to give him the satisfaction of getting a rise out of you again.
“None of your business,” you say, “it’s a surprise.”
“For me?”
“No,” you reply coldly as Harrison checks out and the three of you leave the store.
“Come on, won’t tell a soul, promise.”
“You’ll find out tomorrow afternoon.”
“That’s way too long,” Tom complains as he drags his feet behind you and Harrison.
The rest of the walk is quiet, Tom stops at his floor and Harrison walks you up to your room.
“Do you need me to stay tonight? You look a little shaky after your confrontation with Tom.”
“What confrontation?” You laugh, trying to push that aside as you open your door.
“You and him bickering in the aisle next to me.”
“Oh that, I’m fine, it was nothing.”
“I can tell him to stop being an asshole if you-,”
“I’m fine, Haz, promise. If it was really bothering me I would’ve lost it in the store. And I didn’t, so there’s that.”
“I-,”
“I’m good, promise. I’ll see you tomorrow,” you smile, it takes everything in you not to break down as he hugs you before saying goodnight.
You’re exhausted as you climb into bed after showering. You plug in your phone when you hear the bzzz.
Tom: we could always rehearse the scene now
Bzzz.
Tom: nightcap?
Bzzz.
Tom: make it worth your while, promise I know my lines
Bzzz.
Tom: ok
Bzzz.
Tom: still on for tomorrow ???
Bzzz.
Tom: I’m game if you’re game
Bzzz.
Tom: I’m sorry if I was mean. It was a joke.
You roll your eyes and respond before he blows up your phone anymore.
You: jokes are supposed to be funny
Tom: I guess I need a better set then
You: clearly
Tom: plz
You: please what
Tom: plz help me practice the scene tomorrow
Tom: plz
Tom: pretty plz with a cherry on top
Tom: make it a strawberry actually ;)
Tom: sorry
You: my dorm at 9am
Tom: see ya then
You put your phone down as you pull the covers over your body, eyes drooping as you let sleep overtake you.
***
A knock on your door wakes you from your sleep with a start and you almost jump out of bed.
“What the- shit,” you groan as you realize you forgot to set your alarm.
You look down at your pajamas, sweatpants and a tank top and shake your head, slipping on a T-shirt before opening the door.
“Someone just woke up.”
“Shut up.”
“Well good morning to you too,” Tom smiles, leaning against the side of your door.
“Gimme five minutes, just stand here and don’t touch anything,” you say, letting Tom into your room as you grab your bathroom caddy.
“Scout’s honor,” he grins, saluting you as you leave.
You stumble to the bathroom, still half asleep as you wash your face and brush your teeth. You put on your chapstick and instinctively licked your lips. You quickly comb through your hair before making your way back to your room looking vaguely presentable.
You almost scream when you see Tom lounging on your bed like he owns the place, casually flipping through his script when you walked in. You quickly shut and lock your door.
“Hi,” he says, swinging his legs off the bed, feet swinging through the air as you angrily put your bathroom caddy away.
“Told you to stay still and not touch anything,” you sigh as you grab your script from your desk.
“Not touching anything,” he says as he stands up, “not anymore.”
You roll your eyes and flip your script open to his scene.
“Let’s get started, and try to remember everything that we did yesterday.”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Is it about the show?”
“No,” Tom says, eyebrow quirked and head tilted as you walked to where the entrance to the scene was.
You contemplate being an asshole like he was last night but you remember Harrison and you remember that you’re supposed to be the bigger person here.
“Fine, what is it?”
“Why’d you, why did you freak out when I touched you last night?”
“At CVS?”
“Yeah, then.”
“I just, I didn’t see it coming.”
“Yeah but you seemed so, I don’t even know, mad? Upset?”
“I don’t like being taken by surprise is all, wasn’t expecting you to touch me then so I didn’t want you to.”
“You seemed to be okay with it earlier yesterday,” he says, stepping from one foot to the other in front of you.
“That was for the show.”
“But I-,”
“Just, don’t put a hand on my shoulder when you’re behind me, or stuff like that unless I say you can.”
“What’re you so afraid of? It’s not like I’m gonna hurt you.”
“Just, things like that make me anxious, and if I get too anxious I have panic attacks. There, happy?”
“I didn’t mean to be nosy.”
“Doing an awfully horrible job at something you weren’t supposed to be doing.”
“I-,”
“Let’s just do the scene okay?”
“Yeah,” he sighs, eyes distant as you walk onto your ‘set’.
The scene goes smoothly, he remembers each bit of advice you gave him previously and you can’t help but have a big goofy grin on your face when he seems to breath life into the character, moving around the ‘stage’ with a purpose.
“What?” He asks, breaking character.
“What do you mean what?”
“I mean why’re you smiling like that?”
“Nothing you’re just doing a really good job.”
“Oh cool uh thanks then.”
You went right back into the scene, like clockwork.
When it came time for the kiss you decided to let Tom choose whether or not he still wanted to. In your head it could go one of two ways, you could do the kisses and he could improve them and hopefully orchestrate them the same way with Nikk, your heart would beat a little faster in your chest and you’d want to see how he kisses as Tom and not just as Dave. Or you could mark the kisses and not let this get any farther because it scared the shit out of you.
“Do you really not see what it is?” Tom, Dave asks.
“No.”
“Well can I give you a hint?”
“Yeah.”
Tom leans in, hands at his sides as he gives you a quick kiss, you Rhonda pulls away just as fast.
“What was that? Why did you do that?” You say in character.
The scene continues. You pretend not to notice that his lips feel soft and nice against your own.
The scene moves on, he does a good job, dare you say great job on Dave’s characterization and you can’t help but be proud of it.
“Is it apples?”
He shakes his head, hand intertwining with your own.
“Cherries?”
He shakes his head again and turns his body to face yours, other hand cupping your cheek.
“Big open faced strawberry rhubarb pie?”
He shakes his head again and you blush as his thumb rubs your cheek, his head bowing down to press his lips against yours. Your hands are steady on his shoulder and waist, lips pulling away and head turning to continue the scene.
“Oh Dave! I see it! It’s-, I see it. It’s nice,” you say, his hand drops from your cheek, yours from his waist as you continue with your lines, “that’s really nice. It’s good! You’re really good at this!”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
His hand moves back to your cheek as he kisses you, longer than the last, “and you are very good at this.”
You, Rhonda, initiates the kiss this time, your hand pulling him to meet you and kissing him.
“I thought it’d be hard!”
Kiss.
“And it’s not!”
Kiss.
“At,”
Kiss.
“All!”
He kisses you again, tongue swiping at your lips, you don’t let it get further though, pulling away to finish your line, “and I feel like I wanna do it for a long time, but I also feel like I want to do something else next, but I don’t know what that is.”
“I do,” He says, hand dropping from your cheek to rest against your hip over your pajama bottoms.
“Okay so for this part, you and Nikk will have a bunch of layers, so a coat or two, long sleeve shirts, a few short sleeve shirts, ski pants, jeans, and then long johns.”
“And are we stripping each other?”
“I haven’t decided that yet.”
“Why’s that?”
“Well it might be a little too sexual, you know? To have you strip each other? It might make the most sense for you to take your own clothes off.”
“Why don’t we try stuff?”
“What?”
“Try both, see which looks the best?”
“I don’t-,”
“Here, put some more clothes on, shirts and whatever, and then we can practice.”
“Are you going to grab clothes?”
“You can fake it,” he shrugs.
You nod and open your closet, pulling out an old sweatshirt from your dad’s college you took years ago, “here,” you toss the sweatshirt to Tom.
“What’s this for?”
“So I have something else to take off of ya.”
“Oh, yeah,” he nods and pulls it over his head as you pull on a long sleeve shirt over your T-shirt and tank top, adding a sweatshirt on top. It feels ridiculous and you already feel bad for the layers that Tom and Nikk will have to wear and shed every single tech rehearsal and showdate.
“Okay, wanna take it from your line, ‘I do’?”
“Sure,” he nods, stepping back into character, body facing yours.
“I do,” He says, hands drop to your hips, pulling up your sweatshirt, your arms naturally lift to help him take it off.
He tosses it behind you, brown eyes moving between your lips and your eyes, open wide as you arms drop to your sides again, vulnerable.
“Should the characters, are they going to kiss during this?” He asks, hands fiddling with the long sleeve shirt.
“Uhh,” you start, eyes dropping to your feet, rocking body back and forth as you think.
“We can, try?” He says, voice almost hopeful, but you shake it off.
“Uhm, I just, I,”
“Only if you want to. You know, so you can plan for the ending when we do it with Nikk.”
“I, sure, yes, for the scene,” you convince yourself that it’s only for the scene. That you only want to kiss Tom for the scene, and that you don’t wonder how it would feel to kiss him without hesitation, without thinking of what line is next and what part of the scene you are working on.
“So, should we just do what feels right?”
“What feels right, sure,” and you have to take a deep breath because nothing feels right. Your head was foggy with anger still from last night and the past few months, how you two consistently bickered and now he’s here, eyes wide, lips wet from the precious kisses. And your heart seems to beat faster as your eyes roamed his face, from the freckles on his tan skin to the slight blush on his cheeks.
“Okay,” He says, hands tugging the shirt over your head before you grab his shoulder, pulling him down for a quick kiss before tugging the sweatshirt over his head.
Next comes your t-shirt and as you help him toss it behind you, adding to the pile of clothes his hands cup your face, practically squishing your cheeks with his hands, long fingers resting against your hairline by your ears, thumb stroking right next to your lip you could almost drop your jaw and-
Just practice. Just finding what works best.
His lips meet yours, thumb still stroking your cheek softly as his lips part, tongue poking at your mouth.
You don’t let him in however, hands fiddling with the edge of his T-shirt, pressing your forehead against his as your lips pull apart, “how would you, How’d you feel stripping down to just your underwear?”
“Well sweetheart I’d want us both to.”
“For the show,” you give an exasperated sigh, if your eyes weren’t closed they’d be rolling in your head.
“I dunno, don’t want to audience to pass out now would we?”
“Don’t be modest on my account.”
“Underwear then?” He asks.
“Sure, and Nikk, Nikk can strip down to athletic shorts and a tank top,” you say, his hands cover your own on his T-shirt and help you pull it off, heads pulling apart for a moment to throw his shirt with the sweatshirt behind him.
Your hands shake as he grabs your wrists, placing them on his chest. It was tanned slightly and warm against your fingertips.
“And then,” his hands rest on your hips, thumb slipping into the edge of your sweatpants, rubbing your bare hipbone.
“The rest, when you’ve, uh, got enough, clothes, on, for the scene, you’d take them off.”
“You don’t want to take these off darling?” Both thumbs are hooked into the edges of the sweatpants, ready to take them off if you give him the go ahead.
You so desperately want to say yes but you know you shouldn’t.
“I’d want us both,” you say, repeating his words from earlier.
Fuck, shit, you were way over your head. No going back now.
His lips meet yours again as your hands continue to shake against his chest, sliding down to his jeans.
Your hand quickly undoes the button as he pushes your sweatpants down, zipper next. Your sweatpants pool at your feet, leaving you in your tank top and underwear as his tongue swipes across your top lip. Your mouth reluctantly lets him in as your hands work to push down his pants.
His tongue enters your mouth and it’s smooth but hesitant, feeling out your mouth as his hands grip your bare hips, fingers pushing the tank top up further and further. They’re ghosting over your ribcage now and-
Knock knock knock.

With Eyes Wide Shut
Tumblr media
↳ A Halloween movie marathon is in order when you find Jungkook shyly asking about your plans for the night. Although, it seems as if lines are getting a bit blurred and you decide that for just this one night you’ll keep your eyes wide shut.
Pairing: Jungkook x Reader Genre/Warnings: A super fluffy and sweet cake that somehow makes you sad, Staff/Chubby Noona Au Word Count: 2k+
➭  Happy Halloween! This totally isn’t late at all Anyway yeah, please enjoy this baby of a drabble that I started while at work. This one is in the same AU as the Yoongi and Jiminnie one. I’ll probably go back into my masterlist and create its own section.  Its up now under the OT7 category <3
Tumblr media
“Noona, are you going to dress up for Halloween?”
At hearing the youngest call to you, you turn around to face him, momentarily pausing your work of arranging the 7 costumes. You blink your eyes at him and purse your lips in thought, glancing down at the red Power Ranger helmet in your hands. Normally back home all you would do on the holiday was simply decorate your studio apartment and buy a big bowl of candies for the Trick o’ Treaters; passing the night with boozy hot chocolate and scary movies. You rarely went to parties and couldn’t really remember when the last time you actually dressed up was.
Now that you moved countries and worked at Bighit, you hadn’t even spared Halloween a second thought. Too busy helping out with what the boys needed and getting their costumes arranged for their yearly Halloween dance practice.
“Probably not,” you answer after a second of silence with a shrug, “I was thinking of just going home and watching movies honestly.”
You watch with fond amusement as Jungkook slightly pouts at your answer, no doubt hoping to hear your costume idea and possible plans. Usually at least half of the boys would do something for the holiday, whether it was going with friends or amongst themselves, but from what you had heard, the youngest wasn’t going anywhere. With a twitch of your lips you gently go back to arranging the outfits, half of your body still turned to the maknae.
“Did you want to join me on watching scary movies and munching on snacks Gukkie?”
You try your best to bite back your giggle when you see him startle from your peripheral, witnessing his ears begin to go a little red.
“I – can I?” His voice is soft and his words were slurring from his obvious nervousness; you also had to swallow down your squeal from how adorable he is. “It’s just…the hyungs are going out or staying at home, but I don’t wanna be alone. B-but I also don’t want to impose –”
Your small chuckle cuts his rambling off as you place a gentle hand on his hand, stopping his nervous picking of his nails. “You’re not imposing since I invited you Gukkie. Don’t worry about it okay? I haven’t spent time with you lately so it’ll be a nice way to catch up.”
Your heart squeezes in emotion as he unleashes his wide, happy smile on you, nose and eyes scrunched with his bunny teeth in full display. You had a soft spot for all of the boys, but there were no lies in the youngest being able to endear just about anyone; Jimin being right at his neck with his charm. Having both of them come at you with their smiles was lethal to your heart and you always swore they’d end up killing you.
“Thank you so much noona! I can’t wait for it! I have so many movie ideas too!”
You continue your work as you listen to him list off the different movies he has in mind, chiming in with your own agreements and additions. It was hard to not get excited about it when you had him practically bouncing from giddiness and it only made you wish the next week would pass by quickly.
Tumblr media
Excitement bubbles in your stomach as you put the final touches in your living room, not wanting to admit that you may have gone a little overboard with decorating for your movie marathon with Jungkook. Orange fairy lights gently fall above your couch and over the glass of your TV stand, giving off a soft glow that complimented the tiny pumpkins you spread out. An assortment of chips, popcorn and candy fill your coffee table as you finish pouring out some boozy hot cocoa into some Halloween themed mugs; just in time it seems as you hear your doorbell ring.
You try your best not to skip over to the door and take in a breath, pushing away the thoughts of how long it’s been since you’ve celebrated Halloween with someone else, only thinking of how much fun tonight will be instead. With a determined nod, you open the door and greet the younger boy with a grin.
“Right on the dot, hey Gukkie,” you step aside to let him in, watching him with curiosity as he shuffles in shyly with a large backpack, hands clutching the straps as he looks around your decorated apartment with wide awe filled eyes. “What do you got in the bag Guk?”
“Oh!” Jungkook comes back to life as he animatedly swings the backpack around to his front and squats down, rummaging through it until he takes out two articles of clothing. One pair you realize is his Cooky pajamas you’ve often caught him wearing in their filming and the other was a Cooky one piece, the hood adorned with the characters eyes and floppy ears. “I uh, I remembered you said you wouldn’t dress up so I thought maybe…we could kinda dress up together? You don’t have to! I just thought…yeah.”
Your lips slowly stretch out into an endeared grin as you watch him shuffle timidly, his slight nervous slur coming back as he doesn’t look you in the eyes, too busy staring holes into the one piece was no doubt brought for you to wear. There was no denying the rapid beating of your heart from trying to contain your cooing and sudden need to squish his cheeks; he had no business being so fucking adorable when he was a damn 21 year old man.
With tentative hands, you reach out to take the pink onesie from his fidgeting hands and offer him a kind smile when he peeks at you from under his dark fringe. “I think it’s a great idea Gukkie and I kinda wish I had thought of wearing pj’s if I’m being honest,” you pause as you grin slyly at him, holding the onesie to your chest, “is there any reason why you got me the Cooky one specifically?”
His eyes widen a bit at your question and you can’t hide your soft snort as his cheeks get a bit pink, his hand coming up to pick at the baby hairs on his cheek before he tries his hardest to come off as composed. “Because Cooky is the best one, duh.”
Letting out a soft laugh you shake your head and motion to the bathroom, before turning around to go into your room. “Of course, how can I forget? The bathroom is over there if you want to change while I go change in my room. If you finish before I do, just start picking out the first movie.”
You didn’t even need to look behind you to know the maknae dutifully nodded his head and quickly took off his shoes before heading to your bathroom. Now your only problem is wondering how you’ll fit in the onesie once you close your door, frowning softly at the material. You have no doubt that this was the onesie Jungkook owned, the scent of it alone was a clue were it not for the obvious size difference. Deciding to ignore the fact that he gave you his own onesie as opposed to getting a new one, you keep a light camisole underneath and trade your jeans for spandex shorts, knowing that later on you’d end up getting hot in the suit.
A sigh escapes you once you have the onesie on, staring at your reflection with a frown as you see the way the buttons on your chest are barely holding on and the ones on your stomach seem tight, but the sleeves and pants are comically long. Before your thoughts can take a one way ticket to the Depressed Bitch train, you pull the hood over your head and quickly look away from the mirror as you walk out your room. You’re greeted with the sight of a snuggly looking Jungkook cross legged atop your couch, with a ps4 controller in his hands as he flicks through the different scary movies provided. Your mood instantly lifts again as you waddle over to the young idol and can’t help yourself from smacking him softly in the face with the long sleeve of the onesie, practically cackling as he sputters out in surprise. But before he could whine at you for hitting him with the sleeves of his onesie, he stops short as he really takes you in.
“Wow, you look really cute in my onesie noona, you look so small.”
It was your turn to feel your ears get hot, thankful for the hood as you flop onto the couch beside him, smacking him with the long sleeve again as you pull your mug off the coffee table and into your hands. “Stop trying to flatter me, I know I look stupid. Just pick a movie Gukkie.”
Jungkook pouts a bit, but decides to not argue on how wrong you were and instead goes back to his choices; eventually deciding on the ever classic Friday the 13th. With his own mug of boozy hot cocoa in his hands and a bowl of popcorn balanced in his crossed legs, your marathon begins; mainly you hugging your throw pillow for life and Jungkook laughing at you when he wasn’t absorbed into the TV. The night rolls along and before you know it, it’s past 2 am, Insidious is playing and you nearly let out a shrill scream when you feel something heavy land on your lap.
Instead, you swallow your scream and only jump a bit before looking down to stare in confusion at the dark head of hair now resting on your lap. It takes a few moments to process that the head on your thighs is Jungkook’s and he must have fallen asleep at one point, gravity doing the rest. Your belly warms at the sight and before you can stop yourself, your fingers begin to thread through his soft locks, while the other hand is quick to click out of the horror movie and back onto the main screen. Not having the heart to wake up the maknae, you grab your phone and type of a quick text to the group chat to let the rest of the boys know the youngest member would be sleeping on your futon tonight.
After turning off your console and TV, you begin to gently try and move Jungkook over so that you can turn the couch into the futon, but a sudden pair of arms around your waist prevents you from even moving. Glancing down, you realize with a start that sleepy doe-eyed eyes are staring into your own and Jungkook apparently had woken up sometime during you trying to move him.
“Can we sleep like this?” his voice is soft and full of sleep, but at seeing you pause long enough to show your hesitation, he quietly adds, “Please?”
Despite how close you are with the boys, there is no doubt an invisible line you do not and should not cross; any feelings that weren’t professional and amicable were always a slippery slope and something your superiors frowned upon. Even if it meant feeding into emotions that were being given to you, but in spite of knowing this and trying your hardest to not cross that line, you’re not sure how you somehow managed to suddenly be in Jungkook’s arms. His mouth is dangerously close to your ear as he nuzzles his nose into your hair and his legs easily tangle into yours, the attempt to take out the futon long forgotten as he slots your bodies into the small couch.
The night is soothingly still as you close your eyes, trying your hardest to ignore how at ease you feel despite the red alarm blaring behind your lids; there was no use in stressing out about the blurred line, not when Jungkook held you so close to his chest as if cherishing a moment that would never happen again. You both knew that the moment the light of the sun spilled through the cracks of your curtains, this small moment being shared would have to be shattered, never to be known outside of your small apartment.
“Thank you noona,” his voice is only a breath against your ear as his arms tighten around you more, as if trying to erase any remaining space that may have been between your bodies.
Your only response is a gentle flutter of your lips against his jaw, not a kiss or peck, but just the simple touch of your skin against his; something that could easily be mistaken for imagination come tomorrow morning.

My TorCon Experience
So I went to TorCon 2017 last weekend. If you’re at all interested in finding out how it was for me read below the cut. I’m just going to say it is long. I am not a writer. But I needed it to be documented somewhere.
Supernatural Weekend It's starts with me skipping out of work early (a work day in which I took on two classes for lack of spares). Which means literally dropping my students off at their gym class and booking it. It is an hour and ten minute drive to the airport. I left at 2:20 for a 4:00 flight. Got there at 3:34 and the lady says " the plane is only arriving at 6:30 and you're lucky because otherwise you wouldn't have made it" but hey. Luck was sort of on my side. Because it meant I would miss my connect flight in MTL. Finally we take off and an hour flight of me telling the plane to "hurry" we land and I have 10 minutes to make the late connect ( I had missed my original connect by a long shot).  I made the connect and headed for Toronto. Friday: Arrived and registered and explored vendors room pretty early in the morning. The vendors room is fun but dangerous for your wallet! So many wonderful SPN and generally nerdy stuff to buy! (It really is important to give yourself a budget with the excitement of it all you could spend too much money)  Then I the saw opening with Rich and Rob .  Rich is extremely smart comically and he is such a good host. And well, rob is just too precious. Followed by Julian's Q&A, Emily' Q&A, and Bri and Kim's Q&A. Julian is such a fun interesting man. He clearly loved being in his home town and answering all the questions. He appeared to have a lot of fun. Emily's panel completely took my by surprise. She plays such a dark character, well literally the darkness! But she is the complete opposite. She is so bubbly and energetic. All smiles and positivity. Bri and Kim are great. There panel is so dynamic in that they have lots of fun but can also  really get deep and emotional. It's so beautiful that they are so open and comfortable with the SPN family and confident I themselves. They're such strong beautiful individuals and inspiring.
I went home for supper but went back for Karaoke night. It was such high energy. Rich is amazing. Emily was in an adorable Tiger Onesie. Bri and Kim were smoking hot in their costumes (all circus themed) and then there is Matt Cohen. That boy is too damned fine. He had a blow up doll that we (the crowd) named Doris. Someone in the crowd was making balloon penises for people to wear on their heads. Rich and Matt's  reactions as they slowly began to notice the penises in the crowd was priceless. Matt makes amazing eye contact with every person in the crowd. It's an incredible talent and I personally think ruins you when it happens to you!  Everyone picked fun songs for karaoke and everyone sings along. I didn't get a chance to sign up but I highly suggest doing it. Into the evening Matt threw Doris into the crowd to crowd surf. It was a rather violent affair for Doris but then myself and a new friend, Kelsey, and my karaoke neighbour got the idea to stick a balloon dick on Doris.  Matts reaction was priceless. There are many videos. Rich wanted nothing to do with it. Good luck at having a voice at the end of karaoke. While waiting for my über I saw Matt step outside a side door with his handlers for some air. I thanked him for such a fun evening and asked for a photo  but wasn't allowed. Matt said "aww I would but she will fire me" which I quickly teased him about then continued on my way. I completely understood and think it's awesome that they are so sweet with the fans. The karaoke goes till about 12:30 so it's a late night! Saturday: Seeing as it was Canadian Thanksgiving I had family engagements to be at also. So on Saturday I went to con around 2:00 to see Marks panel. Mark was sick so I am thankful he still came! Mark is amazingly blunt and forward and sarcastic. If that kind of humour or style isn't your thing you make take his panel harshly but I loved it. He is so rude (but in a loving honest way). It was comical to see people struggle with his responses. He loves talking about his children. Most other things he answers short and sweet. But such a good panel just the same. After the panel I had a Mark Misha photo op. It was my first ever photo op. I was not prepared for how fast it goes. The music is loud ( to keep people from telling stories to the actors). First time photos is definitely intimidating. Mark said hi to me and I stood next to him ( as Misha was still seeing the person before me off) and by the time I realized Misha was there beside me the picture had been taken and off I went, no hug or hi! to Misha!! It was still great and the photo is great. I'm glad I got the chance to experience photo ops before doing it with Jared and Jensen. Then I had to leave for family obligations. I didn't even have time to pick up my photo ( it takes about 1-2 hours for them to be printed and placed out for the taking). Luckily the SPN family really are family and my new friend Kelsey picked my photo up for me.
I returned for the concert at 9:30. The concert is difficult to describe to do it justice. I HIGHLY recommend going. The SPN cast has unbelievable musical talent. Louden Swain are amazing. Both their original songs as well as their covers. Seeing as Rob had his stroke in TO some wonderful fans organized everyone with a small pink candle. When Rob sang "She Waits" everyone lit up their candle in the air. It was so fucking beautiful. When Rob looked up and saw it he got very emotional and was very emotional after the song and thanked the crowd. It was an amazing moment for every one. One I will never forget that's for sure. Unfortunately Jensen was not able to make it to SNS but Emily sang ( Gimme Shelter) and nailed it.   Jason Mann's joined them. Bri and Kim both sang. Chris Shmelke played bass and the Creations organizer played keys. It really is everyone and it's so much fun. Because Tom Petty had passed away the week before there were lots of Tom Petty covers which was awesome! The concert finished around 12:30 also. Not a lot of sleeping happened on my con weekend. Sunday: Where to begin.... I hardly slept because of how excited I was. Made to it the convention center around 9:30 am. Met up with Kelsey and just hung out around the vendors room. Then went to my seat in the main hall to wait for my Jensen photo op number to be called. Luckily they allow you to have a friend in line while waiting for photo ops so Kelsey hung out with me while in line. And then... there he was in all his glory. Jensen Ackles. Holy hell. Chris Schmelke keeps the music pretty loud in the photo op room so conversations don’t take up time so you could hear Jensen’s voice. Next thing I knew it was my turn. Luckily I had had the photo op practice the day before so I knew to go slow. (I’m re-freaking our thinking about this moment..). Ok so he just looks at you so sincere and right into you and everything goes blank. I asked him for a hug with his biggest smile and he pulled me in and Chris snapped the photo and then I was off. In a daze of bliss. I didn’t even have time to absorb the musk!  Kelsey was waiting by on the other side and I stepped out of the room and just was SO happy! We had time to kill while the photo was printed and I needed fresh air post experience so we took a walk. Then back into the center yo pick up my photo. MAN oh MAN was I not disappointed. Jensen gave me exactly what I wanted. The picture is perfection ( I’ll post it when I get the JPEG) I returned to the hall and my seat and texted everyone a picture of the picture while I cried with joy about it.
Then Louden Swain we’re doing autographs so I went to that line. While waiting Jason Manns was at his table so I popped in and got a selfie with him ( have I mentioned he is the sweetest man on earth?) then got to talk The National (great band you should check them out) with Rob Benedict and all the band signed a CD for me. Then returned to my seat to freak out again over the convo I had with Rob. (Sunday is a very highly emotional day. I’m just saying).
Then it was time for all the main panels. JDM had cancelled so we had Sam Smith and Jim Beaver and  the J2 panel.  Sam Smith is so quiet and shy and adorable. Jim is just perfect and so good at being Jim but keeping a bit of Bobby in his ways too. And J2 panel was just as expected. Perfect. Soooo funny (Talk amongst yourselves). The boys together is too good. I couldn’t wipe the giant goofy smile off my face. I never took my eyes off them. And one hour is WAY to short. Two actors should be given two hours on stage.  Immediately after was my J2 photo. My number was in the first 50 so I didn’t have to wait to be called. They were a little behind schedule so we had to wait a bit but if you are ever bored  at a con just sit outside the photo op room and watch people come out of photos. It is such a joyous thing. Then it was time for J2 photo. Luckily all the people I had met ( in seats around mine) had the same photo op times and so we all got to stick together. And Kelsey stuck around too. I always let the others go first because it meant I got to watch them get their photos and watch their joy. It truly is a beautiful thing. Once you get into the photo op room you can see the boys and it’s amazing. ( I can’t think of any original words. I’m not a writer!) Jensen was dancing and singing with the music and Jared just beams with happiness. He is such a big adorable puppy. Because they are so tall while waiting I couldn’t see them around the flash umbrella thing (aka lighting) so I just squatted down to see them for that 30 more second. I gave no shits what people thought. Jensen does this thing we’re he scans the line with his eyes...and talk about making your heart beat faster when he looks right at you ( with your giant smile plastered to your face). Next thing I knew it was my turn. I don’t remember saying hi... I remember saying “Jensen I gave you a hug earlier so I am going to hug Jared this time. But I still would love your super big smiles!” And then Jared grabbed me (I’m crying while writing this btw) and hugged me and just as Chris is about to snap the picture Jared somehow squeezes me tighter and I take big breathe in and fuuucckkkk I smell the musk.... No way to describe it. And then I’m sent on my way. Shell shocked. Walking up to them is just something else. You’re surrounded by giant man and it’s somewhat overwhelming but so good at the same time. It’s just Jared and Jensen is all you can see and they are both coming toward you. It’s truly something else. Anyhow...Kelsey and I step out and meet up with the others and we all just squeal at each other with joy and exchange experiences and share the happiness.
Then in the shock of it all I head back to my seat for the King of Con panel. Rich and Rob are so quick and fun. Definitely don’t miss their panel(s). Everything ran late but I had a plane to catch and  started to get nervous I would miss autos! The boys came up an hour late and this is where my love for the SPN family comes in really hard/more (somehow). The people I was sitting with told me to just go in line when they called VIP and gold so I did. The wonderful people of creation and spnfamily heard that I had a plane to catch and everyone was like “ya no problem step in line”. And so as I am talking to the creation volunteer when I feel someone move me aside so I step out of the way and they walk past me and then I realize it’s is Jensen’s security and right next to me walking by is Jensen himself. I die. Then I live again and am fourth or 5th in line for my Jensen auto but all I can do is focus on Jensen’s voice. The couple in front of me are on their honey moon (#goals) and so sweet. Then it’s my turn and I give the handler my object to be autographed. I tell Jensen that I love Supernatural but I have been a Pearl Jam fan for much longer and that I have seen them 9 times. And he says “no way!” Then he looks more closely at what he is signing and sees it says ‘Just Breathe’ and he says “ this is my favourite song of theirs” and I respond “ ya it’s a great one. Eddie Veddar is great. Thanks”. And am on my way. Then I quickly scoot over to get in line for Jared’s autos. Jared has Kaleo playing and there is a girl freaking out over meeting him and he is just so smiley and like “ aww no problem at all it’s  all ok” to the girl like he is so damned sweet and a precious human being. He talks to the honeymooners congratulating them. My turn comes up and I repeat the exact same thing to him as I did Jensen ( it’s important to rehearse what you want to say otherwise words won’t happen properly I’m convinced). He smiles and says “ No Shit! that’s awesome.” When I tell them how many times I’ve seen them. (Insert I can’t remember what happens.) then I say bye and thank you and he says thanks and I say “love you Jared” and off I go. At this point I need to get going to catch my flight but I still had autos for Sam Smith so I quickly popped into line and of course again everyone is so kind. I was standing  with Lynn Zubernis (FDEWB editor / @fangasmSPN) in line and she is just so sweet. It was great talking to her. Then a quick auto with Sam Smith where we discussed how all dresses should have pockets ( the dress she was wearing had pockets) then I was off.
It was the end of the con and I was so sad. But it was an absolutely AMAZING weekend. I was exhausted and got home and cried with joy and emotions but I think that’s normal. I wish/ hope everyone can experience a con! The end.
Love,
Hannah

These keep getting longer
I think it’s evident at this point that I consider my duty to the prompt filled if the words are mentioned in passing or even implied
tuesjade prompt: art supplies
Jade isn't in the greenhouse or napping in the common room (or even halfway up a tree, which is where you found her last time you went looking) so you check her bedroom, which maybe you should have done first. There she is, flat on her back and flicking pennies at the ceiling. Instead of dropping back down onto her pillow, they settle into orbit around her head like a glittering halo. When you walk in, they fall in a copper shower around her shoulders.
"Jake!” she says from beneath a pile of loose change. “Do you need something?"
"Not need, exactly." You hover at the doorway until she motions for you to come in. "It's more that I'm here to ask you something. You see, Calliope and I have been working on a comic together."
"Oh, is that what you two have been hiding away to work on? We were wondering what you were up to." She sits up and pats the bed. Stray pennies clink and shift. "Can I see it?"
"As a matter of fact, I did bring some samples along." You're a little shy, but if you can't show your fumbling attempts at artwork to your grandmother, who can you trust? Calliope took the reins for most of the first booklet anyway. "Behold!” You hold out the hand-stapled collection of pages with a flourish. “The brand new adventures of our enterprising heroes."
She pages through your first issue, complimenting the art and laughing aloud at your cornier jokes. “My grandpa used to make that exact pun, you know," she says, tapping one speech bubble you were proud of.
"That stroke of genius must be hereditary."
She smiles down at the panel for a moment before turning the page. "Guess so."
“It’s funny,” you say. “Speech bubbles feel so… constrictive, for some reason. I know it’s a function of the medium, but you just can’t fit that many words in. You’d think I’d be used to it, since I’ve read my fair share of the funnies. But I keep thinking, how can they say everything they need to? They have to be so terse. It makes for a lot of revising.”
“You’ll get it with practice,” she promises. “And then we’ll all notice you’re sending us monosyllabic texts!”
When she reaches the end, you clear your throat. "I wanted to ask if you'd like to be a guest artist. We're trying to get as many people as we can for different issues, so it can be a group project." Calliope took a while to sell you on that. Some of your friends are actual artists. Their work will make your scribbles look pitiful. Still, you saw her point in the end. These things are more fun done together. And she's promised to stab people with pencils if they laugh.
"That sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't drawn in..." She shakes her head. "I don't know. A long while! I'm not great at it, but it was a nice way to pass the time."
"Oh grandma, you're being modest. You were always the best at arts and crafts.” Once you’d gotten into some old paints and left a trail of child-sized handprints on the wall. Instead of yelling, your grandmother had handed you a brush, and the two of you had covered the plain surface with a mural of swirling colors and flowers. It was one of the things you missed most when your house exploded. “The things you could do with a magazine collage were sheer magic."
"I don't know about your version of me, but this me is no Picasso." She waves her hands, and a sketchbook appears between them. You’d expect something with glitter or drawings of flowers – Jade is no stranger to the stereotypically “girly” end of accessorizing, even with the deconstructed guts of appliances and a few odds and ends of weaponry stacked up in the corner of her room - but the leather binding is plain and worn. "Here are some things I did before the game."
You open the book to the first page and blink. You know that handwriting. “Is this… mine?”
“Oh, that’s right.” She reaches over you and turns over a big chunk of pages. “This used to be one of my grandfather’s journals. He drew schematics for inventions or sketches of wildlife he’d discovered on his explorations. Sometimes he’d take me out on an “expedition”. He’d take field notes, and I’d imitate him by trying to draw what I saw. That’s how I got started doing art, actually. After he died, I kept it up. Maybe using his book was disrespectful, but…” She shrugs, reaching a page where no more of your – your other self’s – writing is visible. “I always thought he wouldn’t mind.”
The sketchbook feels different in your hands now that you know your alternate self once held it. Heavier. You try to put it out of your mind. You have drawings from the Jade who is right here. Her lines are thick and defined, like a child's crayon drawings. Of course, she would have been a child then. Here's a doodle of a school classroom, with Jade and Bec behind a desk. The other students... They’re not pretty, but one of them has clunky square glasses. Another wears a headband. "Are those John and Rose?"
She laughs. "Yes. They hadn't sent me pictures yet, but I'd seen them in the clouds. I liked hearing about school, even when they complained. They never understood why I pestered them for so many details, but I wanted to imagine myself going too. Maybe they’re right and I wouldn’t have liked it, but I hated having to wait until they came home to tell them something."
Her human faces are clumsy and cartoonish, but she has an eye for rendering detailed objects in perspective. Students like flat paper dolls sit behind three-dimensional desks. "You could be an architect," you say.
"I had a Pictionary modus, so I had to be accurate," she explains. "I was never as good at people. I didn't have anyone to practice with."
You nod, flipping further. "Going off a picture just isn't the same." Here's something different. She's drawn a figure fast asleep. The lines are sketchier and more uncertain, with a realistic softness the other drawings are missing. This time, you’re confident assessing their identity. “You drew John?”
"I tried to get a good look at him while I was dreaming on Prospit," she says. "Then I drew him from memory afterward. I thought about asking him to pose a few times once we were on the battleship, but I couldn't think of a way to ask that wouldn't sound silly."
"So you resorted to candids, did you?" The last few pages of the sketchbook are populated with quick doodles built from lighter lines. The jointed fingers of a carapacian. John with his long windsock hood, gesturing broadly with his hands. Dave, no, it would be Davesprite, hiding a half-smile with one hand. An echidna curled in a tight ball with its tongue poking out. It would set your behind ablaze to say any of them are photorealistic, but you can tell what they're supposed to be.
After those you find renderings of the innards of the battleship, a mess of interlocking pipes and conduits. Now these you'd believe were ripped out of a user's manual. The rest of the pages are blank. "Did they catch on?"
She snatches the sketchbook back. "No, they don't know about it, so don't show them."
"Have you been sketching me at all?" You strike a pose, lifting your chin in the air. "How’s my profile?"
"Stop teasing, I haven't drawn anything in years." The book vanishes, and she puts her hands on her hips. "So you see, I'm not sure I'd be very good at it."
"I'm much worse than you, and I'm one of our lead storyboarders. Calliope insisted she wasn't doing all the visual components. Apparently I'm supposed to "learn" and "grow"." You tug at her elbow until she drops her arms. "Don't you want to learn and grow, Jade? Isn't that what you Space players are all for?"
She puffs out her cheeks. "Fiiiine. I guess I can pick up some colored pencils again."
"There's just one thing..." Oh rats, you hadn't thought of how this would come across. "Our guest artists... policy is that they do the villains. To keep the heroes consistent and all that. Is that ok?" You hurry on. "You could be a werewolf, or a mad professor who gets turned into some creature after exposure to magical radiation. You know, something fun."
She blows her cheeks back out. "Radiation sickness isn't much fun. I might prefer a well-intentioned extremist. Maybe I destroy corporations for harming the environment."
"But..." You hesitate. "Is that a heroic thing to do, when you boil it down? Greater good, and all that. It might be more of an anti-hero occupation, so to speak."
"Not when you're hurting the employees."
"We could convince you to let them go first... No." You shake your head. "It doesn't fit our profile to become anarchists. We'll have to save that for our gritty reboot in a few decades."
"I'll go with something more ethically simple."
"So it's ok with you?"
She pats your hand. "I'm not going to get offended about it. I know I was the bad guy for a while. Pretending to do it again won't hurt me."
"I know I wouldn't want to relive it."
"It was different for you.” She looks down at her hands, and you wonder if she’s remembering them ashen gray. “I didn't have a bunch of people living in my head. After the first moment, it was just me, the worst bits. It's not like you wanted to rip anybody's heart out."
You shudder. Caliborn had shoved you to the back of your mind, where you kept company with a bunch of silly green men and a spooky clown, but you'd caught flashes of the outside world. He was happy leaving you to feel your body's pain. Human hands weren't meant to take that kind of punishment, but the vision-blurring impact hadn't prevented you from seeing one of your best friends die. "Can we talk about something more cheerful?"
Her ears pull back slightly. "I didn't mean to upset you."
"And here I was worried about upsetting *you*.” You laugh. “I guess we know which of us is made of sterner stuff."
"You're pretty tough," she says, poking you in the shoulder. "You're our adventure guy."
"Mostly in comics. My alter ego is much braver than I ever was."
She shakes her head. "They're just made up. You're the real deal. And you made it through the worst a bored comic book writer could ever throw at you."
You tap the cover of your comic book thoughtfully. "We *are* the grittier reboot."
She laughs. “That’s right. We are! So now you can enjoy your… less gritty reboot, if that’s a thing comics do.”
“We could have a beach episode.”
“Name a day, and I’ll take us back over to the island. We’ll make a vacation out of it.”
How will it feel to revisit the place where you grew up? Will it feel like coming home, or more like visiting an old prison cell? Which memories win out – the fond ones or the terrible ones? At least you’d have your grandmother at your side. Maybe that way you won’t keep expecting her to pop out from behind every tree and boulder. “There’s an idea. Your character could be a Captain Nemo type. He had a mysterious island and everything.”
“I have in the past piloted something somewhat like a cool submarine,” she agrees.
“Let’s doodle you a nifty uniform,” you say, and she grins and picks up a pen.

Hey humans, more specifically comic-artists,
I wrote a small story for fun, and instead of letting it sit in my docs, I decided to share it. It’s nothing major, but I was experimenting with what it must be like writing in the Marvel-Style as Stan Lee used to write. I was recently inspired by Hickman’s acknowledgement of how his Giant Size X-Men stories were written.
I like to think all writing is good practice, so I figure the same must be true for artists; I personally struggle with stick figures. I wanted to write a story with little to no words to really let the art shine with a character whom I believe is great for creativity: The Green Lantern. So if you are or know an artist who might enjoy bringing this story to life as a means to practice, I’d love to see it. I don’t know if anyone will ever see it or draw it, but I’d rather just put it out there and let it be. (PS sorry, but I can’t add in a ‘keep reading’ thing)
High Noon At Broome’s Pride: A Green Lantern Story by Geordan
For the first page I’m thinking a star wars style floating scrawl across space; I’m thinking colorful nebula as the background.
The text: Green Lantern Justice stops evil in thousands of galaxies, and supports sentience-affirming, rights-positive institutions. The Green Lantern Corps are heroes to hundreds of quintillions of sentient beings. After examinations by Corps Investigative and Judiciary specialists, Green Lantern intervention was approved on a human world, Broome’s Pride. Lantern Maria Cohen is on the ground and an Alpha Lantern is on overwatch in orbit.
We see our Lantern standing outside of a walled facility that also has a force field around it; and it looks distinctly different from the background environment. This background can be the local flora or cityscape, but there definitely needs to be a design contrast between the Rebels and the Authorities. She forces an opening in the field and is fired upon by forces unseen. Since there will be little to no dialogue, I think showing a sense of escalation in her tactics and level of force would be fun, so as she progresses her response becomes more epic. I think with the first few baddies, we show her doing things like hand to hand, then to generated melee weapons, and finally a construct of a cool-ass gun. We also see her send a handful of these bad guys back to the forces who were standing outside the facility who were the authorities that requested her intervention. The bad guys in this first round don’t really have much more than some sci-fi rifles/handguns; maybe even a single grenade.
This is where we introduce the minor B plot. We cut to a group of children, who are scared and being held captive in a room with several guards; the exact number, age range, and how many boys/girls/unknowns I will leave up to you. There’s an explosion from a distance, and some of their guards leave. One of the braver/reckless kids silently tries to tell the others that this is their time to escape. There is some hesitation, so the others look to the most scared of them all and the body language still shows fear. The brave one reaches out their open hand with a ‘do you trust me face’, and there’s a beat of nothing followed by a shot with their hands together. The group takes down the guard and runs away.
In level two, we’re deeper into this facility; there’s no more open space. We see mechs beginning to assault her. These are varied in size and weapons, but all look like they were meant to be sibling designs to each other. This would be a point where those little lantern shaped info bubbles come up to explain to our audience just how dangerous these mechs are, bu I’ll leave this aspect up to you based on what is needed on the page to show some cool action. It’s not strictly necessary to do the little bubbles, but this would be a place to do them. I definitely believe that the mechs should attack in unison and even seem to have the upperhand momentarily before our Lantern swiftly dismantles them. She sends the pilots back to the authorities.
The children have made some progress, but it’s unclear to them and the reader how close they are to the Lantern. We see them dodge guards as they run to their stations for battle, and the children running in their blindspots towards freedom. Two important things need to happen during this little sequence: one the scared one saves the Brave one by pulling them back from being seen by a guard, and there’s a moment of bonding. Two, one of the children gets separated and is found by a guard; the other children watch horrified as they cannot give away their own position lest they be caught too.
Now we’re in level three, a big hall clearly designed to hold meetings for a large number of people and different kinds of events. There are soldiers everywhere standing on different levels with different guns and the leader of these people are standing dead ahead with the kid who was caught escaping; the leader is holding a gun to the kids head. There is even a throne in the room that the leader is standing in front of. The soldiers open fire, but nothing gets past her shield. She sends out tentacles that rapidly send these soldiers back out to the authorities waiting outside the facility. There are only a few left in the room, and Maria feels confident that her mission is almost over. A new figure arrives in the room from above- Maximus Onyx, alien robot mercenary. This is definitely where a Lantern info bubble is needed to introduce this robotic foe and inform the audience that it is wanted for the deaths of three other Lanterns. The Alpha Lantern is informed of his presence and descends from orbit, but not before Maria begins her battle with this mechanical monster.
The children find this giant room and watch from a distance. Maria notices them, but cannot let her focus stray from this deadly foe.
Maria goes hard a first. She tries knocking him many meters into the ground with a giant hammer like attack, but Maximus teleports out of the way. Small drones pop out of Maximus and start firing new energy bolts at her while she is assaulted by a sword and robotic tentacles. Maximus also unleashes a sensory attack to further destabilize the Lantern’s concentration. This fight is going south for Maria quickly. Maximus knocks her down and appears to be ready to deliver a final blow, but then the Alpha Lantern arrives. Maximus backs off and the two make space for their own battle. Barely standing, Maria spits out some blood, and sees the leader of the Rebels trying to escape with the child. She reaches out with some of the last of her energy to get the Leader, the child, and the other children away from the fight that is about to start.
Maximus uncloaks a ship that is floating above the facility and many more drones coming flying down. A case is shot down, and Maximus opens it up to reveal a new and strange sword. The Alpha Lantern is unphased and begins Tactic-821, cascading energy barriers with spiked surfaces. This sends wave after wave with the next wave starting before the last one ends that kinetically destroys (smashes) everything within a sphere range of the Alpha Lantern. Maximus is on the retreat as his hundreds of drones are destroyed, but he slashes through one of the waves with his strange sword that appears to disrupt lantern constructs. He uses this sword to cut closer and closer against each wave. With drones destroyed, Alpha Lantern ends Tactic-821 and engages in a form of close quarter combat, since distance attacks will no longer have the advantage. Maximus engages the ship to attack the authorities. It’s up to hurt Maria to protect them against the fearsome fire power; her ring is still low. The children hug her before she goes, and she pinky promises the scared one she will be back.
Maximus begins to intensely use his local teleportation ability against the Alpha Lantern. THe Alpha lantern has learned that intensely dense constructs will block the sword, but it can still cut into the constructs- it just gets stuck. So far the Alpha Lantern has been unable to immobilize Maximus, but has figured out what will work. Alpha Lantern engages Tactic-1035, Green World. The Alpha Lantern projects an artificial environment based on memories of their homeworld within their actual environment to trap an individual within the ‘Green World’. From here, the Alpha Lantern increases the ‘gravity’ of the Green World; this isn’t actual gravity manipulation so much as the pressure of the constructs ‘air’ acting as a fake gravity. Maximus struggles to hold the sword, but cannot hold on to it. Outside, Maria is holding onto something, barely doding shots fired by the ship, and doing what she can to deflect them away from the living. She crashes through the flight deck to see more bodies of Maximus moving around operating the controls. She starts to panic, but drops off her gift and flies off as fast as she can. She loses power as she flies away.
The ship explodes, and Maximus is aware that the others are gone. One of his tentacle cannons begins to charge, and he teleports behind the Alpha Lantern. He fires his shot, which releases a large energy beam, but the beam passes right through the Alpha Lantern. It was a construct, and the real Alpha Lantern had hidden when the Green World was launched. The construct dissolves and binds around and into Maximus before he can react. Maximus is disabled and arrested.
The Alpha Lantern registers that Maria’s ring is offline and begins to search. Outside the facility, the Alpha Lantern discovers the children surrounded. Medics are rushing towards her, but the Alpha Lantern stops them and starts medical triage constructs. The Alpha Lantern does not leave until Maria awakens and allows her to say goodbye to the children. The Lanterns confirm that the rebels have been captured, and fly off into deep space with Maximus in tow.
The End.
Story and Character Notes:
This story is specifically designed to be straightforward. The Rebels and Authorities conflict is unknown to the readers, so people can project what they want. I mean, I don’t want the Green Lantern associating with a Nazi or otherwise facist authority, but I’m not trying to create deeply political narrative here. There’s pretty much always some group within a cultural context that wants to break away from society for their own reasons and is willing to use violence; this is a common phenomenon in human history, so I don’t see it stopping anytime soon.
This is a future human colony world, but how far into the future is not clear. Considering the wild disparities of technological advancement within the larger DCU, it could be twenty years into DC’s future or two thousand. It’s not particularly important in this story how far it is into the future. Have fun with the designs is the most important part; the rebels and authorities need to have distinct visual differences.
The Green Lantern is a concept who I really think should be artist driven, so this is a story where it has clear heroes and villains to just let the artist have fun drawing imaginative action sequences. The goal of minimal/no dialogue or words was to really keep this experiment as accessible as possible and really let the art shine.
Maria Cohen is our primary hero for the story, but considering this is the future, for all we know, Maria and Cohen will have spread to become names that do not particularly denote any particular ethnic or cultural background. Or maybe she has an unusual background. Maria’s exact story is not needed here, but I talk about how her name can be open, because I would like to make her age, body type, ethnicity, tattoos/no tattoos all left open to however you want to make her. I personally see someone closer to 30s, but if you want her to be a teenager or even a grandma, I say go for it. And it’s pretty clear that the GLC doesn’t have a clear uniform standard beyond their symbol, so have fun with that. The only thing she needs to be is confident in her body language. I do suggest no outfits that would be overly male-gazey; it’s a work uniform, not a strip club look.
Maximus Onyx does not have to be a humanoid robot. He only needs to have arms, the ability to launch tentacles (if they aren't already out), and the ability to shoot drones out him. Primary color scheme being red, black, and gold. He could have 3 heads for all we know. Just make him look menacing.
The Alpha Lantern could be another human, or it could look like Mothra signed up to become an Alpha Lantern. I think it would be really fun if it were an animal we are all familiar with, but a human intelligent version- like an elephant Lantern. It’s just a suggestion. The primary point here is that the Alpha Lantern looks cool and stoic.

Logo Design Trends 2019: Your Ultimate Guide to Navigate The Biggest and Hottest Trends
A logo is the visual centerpiece of a company’s brand identity.
As we explained in The Small Business Guide to Creating a Perfect Logo:
At its most basic, a logo is a small, symbolic piece of artwork that represents a business. But, we’ve dug a bit deeper than that. When you set aside all the design trends and fancy fonts, at its core, a logo must:
1- Embody your brand.
2- Be instantly recognizable.
3- Be versatile.
4- Be timeless.
Everything else is optional.
In fact, I’ll go one step further. Every design choice in your logo should exist only to serve and strengthen the four items listed above. And, if you meet these four requirements, many other commonly cited logo must-haves, like simplicity and memorability, naturally follow.
You should avoid trendy logos that get in the way of accomplishing those design goals.
The truth is that not all modern logos are created alike.
A well-designed logo will help boost awareness and can improve your marketing and bottom line.
A poorly designed logo, or one that has outgrown your brand, can tarnish your brand.
That’s why companies like Uber, Weight Watchers, Unilever, and Dunkin’ Donuts periodically rebrand.
Social media optimized logos, simplistic letter play, swooshy people, pixellated designs, and bright colors were popular logo design trends in 2018.
What will be trendy and hot in 2019?
Whether you’re looking for a logo design for a new business or considering a rebrand, your contemporary logo design should feel fresh and relevant for a long time, and not dated a year from now.

1. Responsive design logos
It’s important to have a versatile logo.
Whether you print your logo on marketing brochures, outdoor billboards, product packaging, on your website, on a business card, or as an icon on a smartphone, you want your logo to be flexible and usable in different situations.
This is called responsive design.
Watch the short video below to see how responsive design works when logos are resized, and be sure to ask your designer to consider responsive design when creating your logo.

2. Perspective-play logos
Playing with perspective is a great way to challenge the norms of traditional logo design.
Businesses looking to create a splash should consider logos that play visual games.
Distortion, fragmentation, warping, and visual breaks are all interesting ways to break the mold in an engaging way.

You can even alter the kerning or overemphasize certain elements to highlight specific qualities of your logo in an unexpected way.
Clever, tricky, and surprising, logos that play with perspective will provide a definite change of pace in 2019.
One way to be sure this style works for you is to ask your graphic designer to show you some mock-ups with your logo on items.
Many graphic designers are now providing mocked-up visuals of their logo designs on a t-shirt, business cards, stationery, web design, infographic, or wall signage in addition to their beautifully rendered design.
Mockups can be a great inspiration. These supplemental materials not only help clients see what the logo might look like in practice, but they can also be used to help influence a brand identity.
3. Bright colors
Color has a deep impact on how we see the world.
Because it is psychologically powerful, color is often used to persuade or influence people:
According to a study examining the effect of color on sales, 92.6% of people surveyed by the CCI: Institute for Color Research said that color was the most important factor when purchasing products.
Another study showed that people make a subconscious judgment about a person, environment, or thing within 90 seconds. That judgment was influenced, in 62%-90% of examples, by color alone.
Colors – especially bright colors – continue to take center stage when it comes to modern logo trends and we expect this will continue throughout 2019.

Bright red conjures up feelings of power and risk-taking, and electric yellow highlights adventure, enthusiasm, and youthful energy.
Bright colors are easily used by any number of businesses.
Make sure you choose the right shade and don’t be afraid to amp up the vibrance in 2019.

4. Negative space
What’s simple, but complex at the same time?
Logos that use negative space in creative ways are an interesting way to explore simplicity.
This trend continues strong into 2019, and for good reason.
Logos that use negative space have been around for a long time, and some of the most famous ones have become iconic.
The FedEx logo is perhaps the most celebrated negative space logo. The arrow between the “E” and “x” is clever and underscores that FedEx is about moving objects from one place to another.
Using negative space to hide a shape, image, or text in a logo can add an element of surprise and sophistication.

The added layer of complexity can elevate a simple design into something memorable and striking.
It’s a powerful technique that rewards the viewer and can help create word-of-mouth buzz as people share their discovery with others.
If your brand needs something to be simple and complex at the same time, try using negative space in a new or novel way.
It’s one place when we can have our cake and eat it, too.
5. Simple typography
Simple design is hardly a new trend.
With clean lines and memorable presentation, it’s easy to understand the draw of simple logo design.
Established brands with more complicated logos are taking stock of their brand identity and re-evaluating how they can bring a fresh perspective to their aesthetic.
Simplifying an existing logo is an easy way for businesses to build on their foundations – ironically, by stripping them down to their visual cores.
Some logos (including the crowdspring logo) are made up entirely of text – these are called lettermarks, logotypes, or wordmarks.
Simple typography can be very effective and memorable.
But not any font will do. You can’t just plop your business name under your logo mark in a serif or sans serif font like Helvetica, Times New Roman or Comic Sans (please don’t!) and call it a day. Often, you must get creative with the type treatments to personalize the design.
We’ve seen brands like Uber undergo redesigns recently, whether to strip down overly ornamental logos or to move away from tarnished reputations.
Whatever the reason, simple typography can give your existing logo a contemporary, modern facelift or create a contemporary new brand.
6. Illustration replacing letters
In a world where emoji are increasingly replacing text-based conversation, it’s no surprise that logos are adopting a similar concept into their designs.
In 2019, we’ll see more logo designs incorporate illustration as part of the design.
A company that adopts this strategy should be careful that the illustration doesn’t make the name unreadable. After all, it’s impossible to create awareness and build loyalty if people don’t understand your logo.
And be sure that this style works with your brand. A traditional, staid institution would look out of place with an affable llama in place of an “h”.
A forward-thinking, tech-based business should incorporate imagery that feels modern and cutting edge.

In 2019, logos that are designed with illustrations substituting letters are likely to be founding increasing numbers. They are appealing to a variety of businesses for their versatility and memorability.
7. Playful designs
Comic Sans walks into a bar.
The bartender says, “We don’t serve your type here!”
Playfulness in design, much like a good joke, is engaging, fun, and unquestionably memorable.
Businesses are rightly focused on getting a logo that has long-term staying power. However, lasting design doesn’t have to mean boring design.
Having playful visuals that offer unexpected, clever designs can have a major impact on customers.

In 2019, you can expect to see designers playing with metaphors, puns, and innovative concepts in their logo designs. These logos make everyone take a second look at a product, and add a fun element into a business’ persona.
8. Detailed vintage
Sleek, minimal designs have had a strong grip on trending logo designs in recent years.
It might seem surprising, then, that 2019 brings exceptionally detailed, beautifully crafted logo designs.
Brands that want to create an aura of vintage sophistication and authenticity are looking toward intricate, detailed illustrations to represent their artisan, handcrafted, top-shelf products.
Having a detailed looking logo conveys the craftwork evident in a marketplace focused on offering similarly detailed products.

The food and beverage industries are especially drawn to the lux, detailed design work trend, and for good reason.
Wine, spirits, and other artisan treats all naturally fit this logo trend.
Any natural, organic, house-made products and businesses can benefit greatly from a super detailed, vintage influenced logo.
These works of art are sure to be appearing on our screens and lining wine racks in 2019.
9. Monochrome hipster
How many hipsters does it take to design a logo?
It’s a really obscure number. You’ve probably never heard of it.
Crossing arrows, handwritten typefaces, and richly detailed design work all define the visual makeup of a hipster logo.
These logos are largely monochrome, choosing to focus on lines and typefaces rather than bold color choices to make an impact.
The vibe-heavy logos lean in on individuality, culture, diverse backgrounds, and any element that contributes to a carefully constructed impression of authenticity.

The hipsters still hold heavy influence on logo trends, and in 2019, you can expect to see this continue.
10. Cut typography
Typography plays a huge role in logo design.
The font you choose has a powerful impact on how your brand (and your company) is perceived, as we’ve discussed before:
Typography is an effective way to convey more than just the words involved in written communication. It showcases personality by visually representing the tenor and tone of what it is you’re talking about. You may find that your purpose is best met by using a font with a vibrant personality throughout your website or using an amalgamation of sans and serif typefaces.
In 2018 we saw companies invest time and money to create custom fonts for their brands: Netflix debuted Netflix Sans, Uber got their Move on, and Airbnb poured themselves a bowl full of Cereal.
We’ll continue to see this trend grown in 2019 as companies reject available serif or sans serif fonts and create their own.
For companies that didn’t have the budget (or interest) in creating their own custom typeface, another type-based trend is gaining popularity.
Called “Cut”, this trend sees brands taking type and literally cutting part of it away, leaving behind something new.

  Logo design by Bingo
The venerable news site Slate used this to great effect with their major rebrand.
It’s a simple but effective technique that reshapes how type is used in logo and brand design.
If you want a look that’s straightforward but with flair, think about what you can cut.
You might find that less really is more.
Be sure your graphic designer understands this.
11. Gradients
Gradient design has become a top modern logo design trend in the last few years. Even Firefox is getting on board with their latest logo update.
“This year has seen a growing trend towards the use of gradients within logo design,” says brand identity designer Helen Baker.
Instagram kicked off the gradient frenzy when they updated their logo two years ago and adopted the simple, but striking, trend.
While initially derided, Instagram’s update wound up prompting an onslaught of gradient-using designs – from web design, to print design, and in 2019, logo design.
Logo design by artStudioDesign
Colorful, attractive, and striking, gradient logos use color in a way that appeals to, well, everyone.
You know you love them, too.
But be sure that you select complementary colors that can bleed into each other seamlessly. Don’t choose colors randomly.
12. 80s and 90s
“What’s old is new again” is a trend we see every year (except for bug puffy hair from the 1980’s, thankfully).
Which decade gets the spotlight changes based on what’s hot in other areas of pop culture, and for 2019, it’s a mix.
In 2018, the 80s were on-trend, and this continues into 2019 with one change: This time, the 90s are along for the ride.
The pastel shades of the 80s are joined this year by bolder colors that defined the decade of Lisa Frank, the Spice Girls, and Mary-Kate and Ashley.
Logo designers mine the past for colors, typefaces, and styles and then add a unique twist, bringing a modern feel to something brimming with nostalgia.
If you want to anchor your logo design in something wistful, take a look at brands inspired by the 80s and 90s. They’re like, totally rad.
13. Minimalist text
Minimalism still holds center court in 2019.
The need to use logos on a variety of platforms and interfaces makes this trend an appealing one, and it’s easy to understand the staying power minimalism has had in recent years.
Text-based logos with minimal typography and the occasional supporting graphic allow businesses a great deal of flexibility. Whether geometric, colorful, monochrome or subtly illustrated, minimalist, text-based logos are easy on the eyes and easy to adapt.

By using only the brand’s name in a design, these logos translate smoothly on business cards, websites, apparel, and anywhere else our minimalist hearts can dream up.
14. Geometric shapes
Logos are, at their cores, symbols.
A great logo acts as a visual representation of a brand’s personality, values, and purpose.
Every element of a strong logo must communicate these things clearly and memorably.
Geometric shapes can work as powerful, memorable symbols. As we wrote,
Geometric shapes of all kinds look man-made. Mathematically precise squares, perfect circles, and isosceles triangles don’t tend to appear in nature. So, using these shapes communicates a sense of order and power.

With bright color choices and invitingly arranged shapes, the geometry trend is both minimalist and friendly.
But a simple geometric line design is a logo element that doesn’t work for everyone.
Logos must be distinct.
Zendesk uses geometry in very unique ways, branding its various products with complementary geometric branded symbols.
The balance of the engaging color palettes with strong geometric shapes creates a pleasing mix of trendy and timeless logo designs.
In the age of the nerd, it really is hip to be square.
Just keep in mind that simplification can sometimes undermine your efforts to make a brand identity distinct.
This is a problem because your modern logo must also reflect your brand. This is where blindly following this geometric logo trend and designing a logo based on a shape can fall short for your business.
15. Bubble Letters
If your brand needs a bit of fun and energy, this trend might just pop your bubble.
Blown up typography was a common trend in the early 90s, especially in advertising and on TV (thanks, Full House!).
Like many other trends from the past, designers have started to incorporate bubble type in their designs, often mixed with modern elements.
This technique is an easy way to turn an otherwise static font into something bursting with personality.
Bubble type is often paired with bright colors and other vibrant elements to help reinforce the logo’s playfulness and energy.
But be sure your company’s name is readable. Not all bubble fonts or font treatments are easy to read.
Logo design by Ikhsanabrori
If your brand is all about spirited fun and good-natured joie de vivre, playing with bubbles might just balloon into something big.
16. Hand drawn logos
Custom, hand-drawn artwork will see a comeback in 2019.
The abundance of readily available, free to use stock art has heavily dominated the logo scene during the past decade.
Having access to cheap and accessible stock art catalogs or templates to design made finding logos easy for businesses of all kinds.
However, with ubiquity comes, well, ubiquity.
There are logos containing generic stock art on every street corner – seriously, we dare you to take a look. Notice any swooshy people hanging around? How about those omnipresent rooflines in real estate logos?
It’s hard to stand out from your competition when you share the same logo.
A generic logo will hurt your business.
Generic stock art and templates should not serve as design inspiration and you should never use elements from those designs in your custom logo design.
We feel strongly about this. Crowdspring has always had a rule that no stock art, templates, or generic art can be used in custom logo design projects on crowdspring.
The increased demand for custom logos has lead to an interest in hand-drawn artwork for logos.
Having real illustrations provides brands with a personality that generic stock simply can’t offer, and smart businesses are taking notice.

We’re excited to see hand drawn logos become a major player in logo design in 2019.
17. Metallics
Metallics are worth their weight in gold for logos in 2019.
Whether a brilliant platinum, a shiny gold, or a romantic rose gold, you can expect to see these luxe designs in increasing numbers in the coming years.
It’s easy to think that metallics should be reserved for jewelers, but the broader use in recent years has made metallics accessible to businesses of all kinds – so long as your branding suits high-class luxury, or a truly classic look.
Logo design by wings63
The prestige and elegance associated with metallics are surprisingly versatile, and the powerful impact they make on consumers?
That impact is worth its weight in… gold.
Are you ready to embrace logo design trends and styles in 2019?
Logo design trends and logo design styles can offer a great way to breathe fresh life into your brand.
However, as with anything, it’s important to exercise caution.
You don’t want to carelessly update your brand for the sake of trendiness and wind up with a logo that doesn’t resonate with your business or market.
When you’re looking through 2019’s logo design trends, make sure that trend represents your brand thoughtfully, and can be integrated into the rest of your existing branding.
We’re happy to help – let us know if you’d like a free design consultation with our team.
