Así se hidratan a los cetáceos en cautiverio. Por tubo traqueal hasta su estómago. Belugas, orcas y delfines deben soportar esto diariamente. Solo con la GELATINA SIN SABOR no alcanza.

Los cetáceos en LIBERTAD obtienen el agua necesaria para vivir de los alimentos que cazan y pescan (peces, crustáceos, mantarrayas, focas, ballenas, ... depende) En CAUTIVERIO esto no es posible, primero porque son hambreados para lograr disciplinarlos para que realucen trucos para los shows (trabajo esclavo que no eligieron hacer) y segundo porque el escaso alimento que reciben es pescado congelado (todos por igual, en cualquier parte del mundo que se encuentre el acuario)

De modo que la forma de hidratarlos es a través de gelatina sin sabor que muchas veces están inyectadas con antibióticos y ansioliticos para soportar el estrés, y el otro método es el que ven en el video. (Tenemos el mismo video con belugas. No hemos podido conseguir de orcas)

También padecen las inclemencias del tiempo en piscinas que están a la intemperie perjudicando su piel delgada (sol, lluvia, viento, frío, calor agobiante) En mar abierto pueden escapar a donde quieran... En cautiverio no.

El lavado de piletas (los cetáceos son mamíferos que hacen lo mismo que nosotros: orinan y defecan, y eso no puede quedar flotando en los estanques porque daña sus mucosas y su piel)

El sonido ensordecedor de los filtros, la música de los parlantes, el griterío de la gente, los aplauzos del público ... Los cetáceos se manejan por sonar, ecolocalización. Deben anular este sistema innato en ellos, porque sus chasquidos y todo lo que describimos, les rebota en las paredes de concreto del tanque.

Este es un resumen del infierno que viven (en parte) diariamente estos bellos, increíbles e inteligentes animales. Hay más padecimientos, como la reproducción forzada para tener más individuos para esclavizar.

SeaWorld is an organization which thrives off taking baby calves away from their homes and families in the ocean and locking them away in secluded tanks, not much bigger than their own bodies. They are then expected to spend their whole lives performing for strangers in chlorine-infested waters. 

41 orcas in total have died on SeaWorld's watch. Their first captures in Washington resulted in the deaths of 3 whales. 

In the wild, orcas are known to swim up to 100 miles a day, which equates to SeaWorld's orcas having to swim around 1,900 laps around their pools. These beautiful creatures deserve to be free and wild and to enjoy life in the oceans, but they're limited to having to perform degrading acts until the day they die.

Peri Sedigh, an activist, compared the marine animals' lives to "a form of slavery". Why are we still allowing this to happen? 

These dolphins and whales have become depressed, resulting in frequent violent and even suicidal behaviours.

Okay! So, I’ve only just realised that I never did an intro post! So here it is! My name is Olivia but basically everyone calls me Liv! I’m 17 (18 this Monday! 😱) and am from Manchester, in the UK 🇬🇧! 💙🐬I first got interested in dolphins in around 2014 after swimming with dolphins at Zoomarine Portugal. After that I ended up going to SeaWorld in 2015 and could tell that something was wrong- the staff didn’t really know anything about the animals! After not getting any questions answered, I ended up researching dolphins and then came across @dolphin_project and @seashepherduk 💙💙Since then, I’ve tried to help spread the awareness about Taiji and ending the dolphin captivity industry! I can’t express how guilty I feel for swimming with dolphins but am really trying to help end dolphin captivity! I have shared as many posts as possible on social media and have been able to stop family and friends from going to visit Dolphin shows! As I’m turning 18 soon, I am hoping to do some volunteering with either #dolphinproject or #seashepherd in the near future! 💙💙🐬💙 As my passion for the ocean grew 🌊, I became more and more interested in ocean pollution!
