short version right at the top here: my family has been getting really bad about asking me for money, even though they all have jobs of their own. i've been openly planning to move out, and i think that's why they're doing it. if you can spare some money to donate/tip/commission, i would be most grateful.

i've been openly planning to move out for about half a year now. for half of that half a year, i've held a really steady job, going in every day for the past almost four months now with only two true sick day exceptions. for a person with the disabilities i have, this is actually exhausting, but i need to get the hell out of dodge as soon as possible.

this came onto my shoulders in a rush, and while, yes, the people i'm moving in with being unable to help for a little while with saving up is part of my stress, it's not the major point of it, nor a moderate part of it. (so, don't you dare blame yourselves, you both, because i know you can read this.) the point of the matter is, i'm being drained dry of all my resources, and even my scarce moments of buying something i truly need sometimes puts me in the red. (i only have two dnd related subscriptions and one basic discord sub, that doesn't bother me and i plan for it every month.)

i would have liked to get my license (60$ max) and at least a car before moving out, so i wouldn't rely on my parents anymore, but it cannot be helped, and it will be addressed when i can address it.

currently! i need help to save up just to get one of my roommates out of a potentially life threatening locale before summer gets into swing (the latest this can possibly be done is the second to MAYBE third week of june. absolutely no later than june 21st, and that's pushing it.) she needs to be out by june 21st, and a week before getting her up here, i need to have the new place to stay before that happens.

at minimum, i need to have 1200$ USD to safely get my first roommate in a place where she can stay safely and avoid the lethality of staying in texas (in her current situation). i currently have around 250$ out of that 1200$ so i'm not starting from scratch and i put away 100$ - 150$ every pay. i just won't have it for when i need it, nor in the timeframe that i'd need it to be collected. if i had more time (and texas didn't FUCKING SUCK), then i wouldn't be fretting so much.

but i truly do need the assistance, and i can even draw or make graphics or psds or anything you need for at minimum of 5$ donations. if... if you could spare anything, i would severely appreciate it. i'm not going to beg, but i will ask very very nicely if you can give anything i'd appreciate it.

maggie evans was once your average sassy teenaged diner waitress in the spooky seaside town of collinsport, maine. that was before she was kidnapped by its resident vampire, held captive, tortured, and nearly turned, all for her resemblance to josette — a long dead woman for whom he pined.

there in his rotting house, barnabas collins dressed her in the woman’s clothes and told her that maggie evans was dead, and that her loved ones have already forgotten her. that she should be thrilled to become josette collins; how if she would only submit to him willingly, they could be so happy together.

when maggie resisted, he drained her blood to keep her in a fugue state, terrorized her with threats to her loved ones, and imprisoned her in a basement cell, threatening to kill her if she did not comply. 

miraculously, maggie escaped with the aid of sarah, the ghost of barnabas' little sister. after discovering a secret tunnel connecting her cell to the outside, she was found wandering the beach in tattered rags, unable to explain or even remember the full extent of what had happened to her. she was sent to windcliff sanitarium, where efforts to recover her memory proved fruitless until years later thanks to the meddling of dr. julia hoffman.  

since then, she has survived far too many abductions, brainwashings, memory wipes, and murder attempts to count. these days, maggie runs her diner with a weariness unbecoming of her young age. yet as traumatized as she is, she hides her troubles behind a kind, but wary smile.

𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐒. (under construction)

i. the beginning and the end of the world / maggie's semi-charmed life as a waitress in collinsport prior to barnabas' introduction.

ii. fanged creatures in my dreams / this is where most of the spooky stuff happens. follows maggie after barnabas comes to town, up until she leaves the show. my main verse for ds muses.

iii. a stake in her boot and a gun in her home / big finish audio verse set after the tv show with some canon divergences, and my go-to verse for non-ds muses. maggie takes over ownership of the inn and diner, where she acts as a welcoming face for weary travelers and hosts bi-monthly paranormal investigation meetings. primarily inspired by clothes of sand, beyond the grave, the harvest of souls, and bloodlust.

since she was little, she always wanted yellow cars because yellow has always been her favorite color. especially since her mom always drove her around in the yellow minivan. if anything, she wanted to just be like her mama. when she got older, she and her dad found a yellow pick up truck that she fell in love with so the two got it from the junk yard and repaired it.

now that her parents are usually on a hunt, not only does she own the yellow pick up truck, but her mom passed down the yellow minivan since her parents take her dad's car for a hunt anyway.

It's okay to make 'simple' edits, you don't need to make 20 PSD's for one image of it will drain you of all your energy.

You don't need to make edits if you don't want to, or feel demotivated to.

If your disability is making editing hard it is okay to take a step back, take your time.

Your edits don't need to be prefect, they don't need to be at a graphic designer level- you are doing this for fun!

uH yeah so here’s wild life update thing explanation whatever cause ye a h

As of the past several days I had no access to any of my stuff, especially my phone or computer, due to being strong armed into a hospital. I've been working rough dead-end retail and retail-adjacent jobs for the past several years alongside my freelance artwork with perpetual aspirations of one day applying myself to a more official long term job as a game artist. But with crippling anxiety, depression, and the constant lack of self confidence I've still not achieved that. And throw in working jobs that perpetually drain me of any energy, sufficient mental or emotional stability, and especially time- you get the idea it's been a nasty cycle I won't go into detail with.

In order to solve this situation, and get out of a toxic household, I’ll be moving to the city my best friend and her wife live in. Having direct access to friends and finally being separated from the emotionally distressing situation I’m in now is of top priority. And currently something I’m making a point of rapidly putting into motion.

Due to? Everything? I’ll also be tackling a few other things during all this. Firstly I will be starting to pull together work for a proper portfolio for job hunting. Then contacting a handful of very overdue commissions to inquire if they’d still like them done or would rather just have the incomplete versions free of charge. Next, responding to a variety of things, artfight related stuff, mentions, messages, etc. And lastly, launching a Patreon; something I’ve wanted to try for years but very much lacked the confidence but with encouragement from others and my situation I’m finally tackling. (actually was tackling all of this before this nonsense started but that sure got disrupted dsdsf)

. So any sort of overdue communications, responses, etc are coming I promise and things are probably gonna be a bit… wild for me over the upcoming months. orz

Jonathan and consuming blood

I thought I’d go into further detail about this HC for newer folk. But as I write Jonathan from a pacifist playthrough, ( Not Even Once achievement ) he doesn’t attack humans to embrace them. 

The only times that he will drink from humans is if it’s someone he’s grown particularly close, they know what he is, and they offer to let him drink from them. He’ll be reluctant as he does genuinely fear not being able to stop himself from fully embracing them, ( Vampyr’s word for fully draining them ) but if he’s really struggling, he will eventually accept and take enough to keep himself in control again, but also not enough harm them in the process. The other time is when he’ll take small amounts from patients if he needs to take blood from them for medical reasons, keeping most for tests, and a small amount for himself to make into his blood serums.

His blood serums are what he keeps on himself as much as he can as an emergency. As stated previously, he makes these from patients blood, which means that the quality is very poor due to their ailments, meaning they have less potency in sustaining him. He’ll always keep at least two either in a briefcase or in his coat jacket.

When it comes to other supernatural beings or vampire hunters, he will never attack first, and will only decide to drink from them if he’s given no other choice, such as if they weaken him or they’re a danger to the people around them.

He mainly drinks from animals such as rats from the streets, pigeons and other such things. I should probably mention that Jonathan will never drain someone’s pet.

It’s important to note that Jonathan is perpetually starving. Except for Mary, my Jonathan has never fully embrace anyone since then, meaning he is always hungry but manages to control his hunger as best he can. By present times, he can manage to go months, even years, without consuming blood if he has to, but will still top himself up with rats and blood serums to keep himself in control. This does mean that he’s not at his full power, but do not presume this makes him a push over. Even at his weakest, he can still face Vulkods, Skals and old and powerful Ekons with relative ease, as well as the fact he was able to face the Red Goddess at his weakest too, so don’t underestimate him.

hello ! ive been wanting to start an editing blog for a while now, but i don't think my edits are good enough for it yet. do you have any tips for getting better at it ? ive been following you for a while and i find your blog to be really pretty !!

alright, this is probably gonna be a long post so everything will be under the cut

there are a ton of things that could make you improve, so here's a list!

1- Experiment, and experiment a ton: This may be the most important one! experimenting new styles and new effects is extremely useful when trying to become better at editing, use new apps (i used to only edit on Ibis Paint but recently I started using apps like PicsArt and Polarr that are way more centered around editing, and that's been extremely helpful!) try new effects, and even look at other people's work to get inspired! (obviously I'm not telling you to just go over and copy another person's style lmao) look at how they position stuff, look at how they use filters and all that, this was something extremely helpful for me to get better at editing!

2- Get new resources: Whether it be new filters or new vectors! on Tumblr there's a ton of resources for that, some creators make borders, some make free to use PSDs and Polarr filters, and on apps like Pinterest is really easy to find stuff like decors and textures for edits! this will not only make it easier for you to make your edits, it can also help with getting motivation to edit, whenever I see a new resource i go "damn i really want to use this in an edit" and then I do it! it doesn't matter if it's just a simple border or decor, everything is a part of the edit, and every single part of it matters!

3- Take your time: Remember when I said that the first one may be the most important one? well yeah forget that, this is the most important part of editing. If at one point you don't feel like editing, then take a break from it! I have done that a ton of times before hehe, and everytime i had the motivation to edit again I did everything in a different way, somehow taking breaks makes me improve, i really don't know why, maybe because i have more time to get inspired from others, maybe because i got some cool new editing resources, or maybe because i learned some new effects, idk, but not only is this part important to improve, it's also an important part to never end up stressing over editing, you said that you wanted to make an edit blog, and sometimes that may be pretty draining to do (i say this from experience lmao) so, never feel forced to edit all the time! maybe do some self indulgent edits before doing some of the requests, maybe take a break of days and return when you finally feel the motivation to edit, decline requests that you know will be tiring to do, anything for you to never feel bad from editing! recently the editing community has been acknowledging stuff like this, so don't expect a bad response from taking your time with editing! (although maybe some rude anons may say some stuff, but don't worry, we don't take those guys seriously around here). So yeah! you are in all your right to take your time!

Welp, my new prints arrived and they’re wrong. They set it up wrong so the bookmarks are bigger than they should be but also partly cut-off. I made the files exactly the same as last time, same template, same .psd actually, I changed nothing, it’s definitely not my mistake... but it’s wrong and that’s €115 potentially down the drain. Aaaaaaahhhhh.
