That was the message being spread across the steps of the Regina Legislative Building by over 3,000 teachers, students and community members on Saturday, during a rally for public education.
“This is just the beginning of the fight that we will have if we do not start seeing this government put a real investment into public education,” said Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF) president. Samantha Becotte,
People from across the province were in attendance, demanding the provincial government stop cuts to public education, and provide funding to meet all students’ needs.

IMPORTANT POST, PLEASE DO NOT SCROLL
thank you 💜
Well, guys.....
I never thought I could actually achieve this goal as soon as I have done, but, it has happened: I have been accepted at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles
And why do I speak about it now? Well....... because I have made my first fundraiser
As it is in Spanish, I will explain to you why do I need economic support for this;
As I said, I have been accepted at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, one of the best music schools in the US.
Tumblr media
It is a very selective school where, once you're accepted, you're given not just the tuition but the housing scholarship as well. Then why do you still need money, would you ask? Well, the thing is, attending the school is still not free. I have to pay a comprehensive fee, a health insurance, the travel costs will add up quickly as I will be travelling at least four times a year, plus school material, and personal expenses. The whole thing could end up being at least 10.000 $, and so, I am working to lower said combination of costs as much as possible. In the fundraiser story you'll find a lot of videos where I'm playing, at different venues I have been to, and so on. Watch some of them if you like, so you can see how I play, who I am, and -i hope- enjoy some time with me and my harp. The goal for the fundraiser is low (less than 3.000$), so even a small donation will help me a lot.
Last but not least:
if you can't donate, it's perfectly ok, because you can still help me by hitting the "reblog" button, so this reaches as much people as possible. And we all know how much this counts as help in here.
So, that's it! Here's the link if you're interested , and hope to see you around there!! https://gofund.me/83bb9a32

Youngstown is poorer than any of its ten neighbors, showing that as the city’s misfortunes have mounted, they haven’t spread. Instead, poverty has been concentrated within the borders of Youngstown City School District. This kind of segregation comes about largely because of how we organize and fund school districts. When district lines split better-off neighborhoods from poorer ones, that keeps local dollars on one side of the line and needy students on the other—and wealthy communities have every incentive to keep it that way.

I'm writing to ask you to support me and my education cause. Just a small donation of $10 can help me accomplish my goal. Your donation will go towards the payment of tuition fees and the purchase of learning materials.

Lucius Fox is in the drive thru for some coffee, and like. He's just. He's had a time, okay?
He's stuck on some equations in regard to the amount of torsion a joint would go through if it's half in his dimension and half in another, and it's driving him up a wall.
He's been up for like forty-eight hours, he's tired, he's thirsty, he just wants a coffee, and also how to solve this dilemma.
He doesn't expect the barista in the drive-thru he's ranting about the engineering issues to actually provide decent feedback, and give him a few alternatives.
So he rushes to the pick-up window, not even caring to order, to look at this godsend of a barista.
It's a scrawny kid with black hair and blue eyes, looking startled. Boy can't be more than eighteen.
He asks what college the kid is going to, or plans to go to.
To his absolute horror, the kid-Danny, according to the nametag-says he can't afford college. That he'd had a stint in highschool where he just hadn't been able to focus, and his parents had spent every penny they had on their own inventions.
So that was why he was a barista; because if he worked there for four years, they would offer tuition assistance.
Which.
No. No no no no no.
Lucius pulls around to march into the store, Bruce Motherfucking Wayne already blearily on his phone.
He is getting this kid, and any friend of his, into college.
If Bruce won't foot the bill, he will.

Unfortunately, funding education, especially at the university level, can be very expensive. However, there are many ways you can contribute money towards education funding and help more students get into their chosen program of study that you can give education funding, whether through your local government or directly to an organization of your choice.

"The Province of Manitoba intends to spend more on K-12 schools in the province next year.
On Wednesday, Education and Early Childhood Learning Minister Wayne Ewasko announced the provincial government's operating funding plan for Manitoba's public schools, sitting at $1.65 billion in spending. This marks an increase of $100.2 million in new operating funding, according to provincial officials, and a 6.1 per cent increase over 2022/23 levels
“Our government believes that all students must succeed regardless of where they live, their background or circumstances, and this year’s investment will provide an operating funding increase to each and every school division across the province,” said Ewasko. “Every division will see an increase in funding next year, which will help them engage students and invest in the programs and services."
A new funding formula guarantee will be set at 100 per cent in the new model, instead of the previous 98 per cent, which will mean school divisions will be getting at least a 2.5 per cent increase in funding."

School districts determine the extent to which we can integrate children in a classroom. Their borders can be used to either help remedy or further entrench a deep history of housing segregation. We can draw lines that equalize inherent disparities, or we can allow communities to isolate themselves behind unseen walls of wealth and prosperity—ensuring privilege remains solely within the grasp of the lucky few.

Canada: Ottawa Has Agreed To Provide $1 Billion In Education Funding To First Nations In Quebec
Canada: Ottawa Has Agreed To Provide $1 Billion In Education Funding To First Nations In Quebec

This agreement came as the culmination of years of hard effort by First Nations communities in Quebec to receive their ‘self-determination’ rights. The accord was signed in Kahnawake, a Mohawk reserve south of Montreal. It took Ottawa and the First Nations…
