Fic recommendation of the week

For this week I didn't read a lot for some reasons. But I still manage to read and I have 2 recommendations!

My first recommendation is Mona de Pascua, by @acewithapaintbrush!

It's Easter in Casita, time to remember Bruno is the grandchildren's godfather! For the occasion, he made a cake for them.

That was way too cute! I really love the reasons why his sisters chose him as their children's godfather, it shows they love him more than anything (well, he's their twin)!

My second and last one is Every bit, as story focusing on Agustín and Julieta's relationship.

Julieta lost her power and she's terrified Agustín will stop loving her when she can't heal him anymore. He loves her though and won't stop only because she lost a part of herself!

That's so adorable 💚 I love how we say people thought be married her because he's clumsy, which Julieta claimed she never believed to be terrified at the idea it could be true.

I imagine that Bruno snuck out of the walls to shower every now and again (because I refuse to accept "Bruno hasn't washed himself in 10 years") but how about a prompt where he and his rats get a much needed spa day? Hair done up in a towel, bubble bath, rubber duck and all?

I’m Fine (I’m Not). A sickfic collection! With Julieta’s gift, sickness in the Madrigals is rare, but not impossible. Whether it's a cold, an imagined stomachache, painful visions, or just a long night of drinking; sickness comes in many forms. Sharing the hurt with one another can be hard, but support goes a long way in healing.

The Weighted Blanket. Mirabel decides to make Bruno a weighted blanket. But the idea doesn't come out of the blue, it builds over time.

Words Never Meant to be Spoken. When Alma asks Bruno to look into the future the night Mirabel doesn't get her gift, neither of them expected to get into a terrible fight. But his mamá is blaming Mirabel and Bruno refuses to let that stand. Sometimes, you have to break something before it can be mended, even if it takes years. And sometimes...you speak the things you never meant to say aloud.

Seen with the Eyes, Felt with the Heart. Bruno is sick. It's something Julieta can’t heal, a harm stemming from inside himself rather than a simple cold. But to understand this sickness, one needs to look further back. When Bruno was five and his gift was just that—a gift. A time when the future was bright and Alma called him Brunito and loved every piece of him.

Fic rec!

What went on behind the scenes of the movie Encanto? Follow each character through their most important scenes as well as flashback from Mirabel's ceremony and memorable moments of their childhood.

Despite the description that made me think it was going to be a ghost story, it is nothing of the sort! The author is very skilled at getting into the head of each member of the family and add additional explanation about why characters where in some scenes in the movie and what hapenned behind the scenes.

A must read! No OCs, only canon.

Fic recommendation of the week!

This week I really didn't read much so today I'm only recommending Are we filming?, a crossover between Encanto and the backrooms.

After a time of disappearance, Pepa is reappearing in the Encanto. The family will follow her journey through a camera who were filming her and the other people who disappeared.

If I must say, I love how the backrooms are portrayed and how Delly uses what we know of the backrooms for Pepa's adventures. I like too how I got attached to the other people who arrived in it as the same time than Pepa.

Without saying that the thing with the camera is really well-used!
