thinkin about how hangman is seen by the dagger cohort as unpredictable/unreliable/a wildcard in the air but he is always perfectly in control of himself. throwing darts blind, changing the song on the jukebox to flirt with rattle rooster, swallowing his disappointment when mav doesn’t pick him to run the mission.

thinkin about how rooster is seen as mr reliable/always has your back in the air but time and time again we see that he’s nowhere near in control of himself. the corkscrew cobra bs with mav, attempting to kick hangman’s ass in front of the whole assignment, refusing to fly the sim any way other than his way to prove a spiteful point.

they’re both told they need what the other has but the truth is they’re mirrors, reflecting the faults and flaws they try to ignore back to one another over and over again. it’s not that hangman’s got to rein in his impulsivity - he has to cede a bit of control and trust the team. it’s not that rooster needs to ‘don’t think just do’ - he’s got to stop letting his emotions dictate his flying, make a plan, and execute it without any shadow of a doubt that he can get it done.

i have to say its a strange experience taking classes on branding and marketing while being vehemently anticapitalist and scorning the economic system

Fun facts about 12 Michelangelo Hamato! Weeee-

Mikey was able to survive and thrive in Dimension X by himself for a least a few months and had saved his brothers when they'd been attacked after being in said dimension for like five minutes.

Mikey is able to memorize things!! It's shown during the Parasita episode (can't spell ya know what I'm talking about shsgsfs) when his brothers had been infected with a parasite wasp mutant and he'd been able to remake the antidote for it after seeing Donnie do it once.

Mikey's a prodigy child in the art of ninjutsu!! It's confirmed by Splinter that if Mikey focused himself in his training and actually put more effort into honing his skills, he'd be able to outclass his brothers by a long shot.

Mikey's incredibly quick on his feet and it's hard to pin him down during fights due to his wild fighting style and agility!!

Mikey in the one episode where his brothers had been in danger, had ended up completely destroying the enemy in a matter of minutes due to him focusing all of his skill assets and using his full potential!!!

Mikey's incredibly strong!! In the episode where Donnie had made his grappling hook invention, Donnie had ended up going flying and on the way back down Mikey had caught him with incredible ease.

Mikey once ate an entire sentient pizza species in order to save his brothers from becoming pizzas themselves!! (Granted it'd been a dream, but he still did it!!)

In the Mutant Apocalypse arc, Mikey was able to survive, thrive and adapt to the Wastelands with very little resources!!!

There's plenty of more amazing moments of this skilled little warrior!! All of them proving that Michelangelo Hamato is in fact the absolute goat despite being naive and cheerful and he will 110% kill for his loved ones!!!

the thing about peep show is i LOVE the premise that every shot is filmed from the POV of a character currently present. and yet cinematographically it's very similar to amateur porn. or maybe it's just the early 2000s styles and undecorated apartment with the windows always closed.

you know i had a fun little vp idea i wanted to do for the cyberpunk anniversary but i haven't had the energy to even touch it recently so i'll just settle with saying that this game impacted me in ways i never thought it would when i first picked it up 3 years ago. i knew i would enjoy it, i had been looking forward to it for a long time, and despite a ~controversial~ launch, i had a fucking blast from day 1 (on ps4 no less). regardless of bugs and memes and public dunking, the story grabbed me like nothing else could at the time, and it reignited so much of my passion and motivation for art that i had lost in the clutches of mental illness and i'll always be grateful for that. it introduced me to so many wonderful people (some whom i carry very close to my heart), and maybe most personally surprising, it gave me an outlet to understand parts of myself that i had been too afraid to acknowledge for a long time, the courage to accept and embrace myself as non-binary, and allow myself to just BE without trying to convince myself i'm crazy. that's not what i expected from the get-go but it's been a really fun journey to be on ngl

#yeah this fandom been a little rocky in places but i would be lying if i said this community here wasn't special to me #so much love and passion and creativity to be around and be inspired by #so many people who have been impacted by this silly little heartwrenching game #devs who have poured their heart into it to deliver something genuinely incredible #its one of those strange things that really did fully change the trajectory of this little leg of my life #to think that until 3 years ago i hadn't even touched art in a decade #now there are lovely people who want to spend money on my work #3 years ago i bought my first (and only) refurbished ps4 to play this game and now im sitting on a fancy gaming laptop #ive said it before but vp has been such an important creative outlet too #its allowed me to live my dreams of being a film director. a cinematographer. a writer.#the whole game has let me be so damn self-indulgent sometimes i feel like a kid again just unashamedly playing barbie #finding the JOY of just. creating.#i learned so much about myself through an OC because of this game #it went from 'huh what is this feeling? gender envy?' to being like full blown 'oh yea. i get it now.' so much of my life makes sense kfslf #and i met people who mean the world to me on top of it all #woof anyways #i know i say it a lot but genuinely thank u to yall who have encouraged me and supported me and who enjoy the things that i make #youve made such a difference in my life without knowing it!

The inclusion of Hermes as a father figure rather than a narrator in Hadestown is the single best thing Anaïs Mitchell could possibly have done for the framing of her story in this essay I will-

#Soph’s posts #Hadestown #because!!! Because when Hermes is involved in the story it completely reshapes the way it’s being told!!!#He’s a character AND a narrator. The story is being told by somebody inside it #Because it’s not just a story even to those that know it’s a story. It’s both a life lived and a tale told.#The narrator is the thing that connects us to any story because without one we wouldn’t HAVE a story #And having a narrator who is also a character and is AWARE of that dual role integrates the audience brilliantly #As opposed to off-broadway when Hermes is inherently separate from the narrative or characters #He’s telling the story without being any kind of invested in it or doing anything to change it #Damon and Nabiyah’s Hadestown IS like a myth because it’s a story being presented by Hermes the showman #But Reeve and Eva’s Hadestown is closer to the audience because of Hermes’s closeness with Orpheus #And Orpheus is changed by Hermes’s new roles as well!!!#When he has a father figure to prompt him and help him he develops this otherworldly innocence #Which fits him much better than the separation between his magic and his personality #With Hermes pushing the story Orpheus goes from ignoring the world to not knowing it’s there #Like in come home with me where “don’t come on too strong” makes “come home with me” way sweeter #Damon’s Orpheus and his narrative would be way closer to Reeve’s if he had Andre’s Hermes #Damn I really did write an essay huh
