I've reached season 5 on my CSI rewatch and I'm a few episodes past "Swap Meet", where a woman is murdered after attending a swing party with other couples from the neighbourhood. Near the end of the episode there's a moment that made me jump from my seat:

(Grissom walks up to Sara and takes the seat next to her. He's holding two cups. He hands her a cup of tea.)

[INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - BRASS' OFFICE]

Erin Brady: Everybody fantasizes about other people. (She glances at Grissom.)

Even you, Mr. Grissom. A neighbor, a friend ... girl at the office.

[INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - HALLWAY]

(The door opens. Paul Brady walks out of the hallway. Erin Brady walks out into the hallway. Sara is sitting in the hallway chair watching them. She watches as they meet and kiss.)

(Grissom walks up to Sara and takes the seat next to her. He's holding two culps. He hands her a cup of tea.)

Right after Erin ends her sentence with 'girl at the office', the first time Sara and Grissom meet again, he brings her tea. This might be an innocent interaction but to me it seemed like a nod to this relationship they have where both are into each other, know about the other's feelings, but can't/won't do anything about it (although Sara has kind of given Grissom an ultimatum). I don't know if it was intentional - I'm guessing it is, because I picked it up immediately. I might or might not have squealed in delight.

finished opla and have truly shocked myself.... i think sanji might be my favorite. he is just a little baby. i want to squeeze him so hard.

#Nami is also very high up there. loved her so much. Lesbian QUEEN #of course I loved Luffy how can you not??? and zoro was great and so was usopp #but weirdly something about live action sanji was just really good to me #i didn't go into opla expecting to get a new fav. especially since i really don't like sanji in the anime #he's just not my cup of tea... even more so as the series goes on. i liked him more when he was first introduced #so this was a nice surprise!!#also loved coby and helmeppo and garp and zeff and nojiko and all the others #oh!! and buggy. he was hilarious #AND KUINA MY PERFECT DARLING BABY GIRL SHE WAS SO GOOD AND RIGHT AND EVERYTHING TO ME #SHE DESERVED 10000 MORE HOURS OF SCREEN TIME #but yeah opla was very very fun and everyone should watch it #i enjoyed that they actually killed people and the fights (even though there were silly moves) felt serious and dangerous #and there was some blood (not gore which would have shocked me if there was but it wasn't completely bloodless either which i appreciate)#and there was cursing and flipping people off which was perfect and hilarious #AND THE SHIPS WERE SO GOOD LOOK AT THOSE BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BOATS #anyway i loved it and would watch it 100 more times #one piece

every time i so much as think about that scene where light looks at porn magazines while scowling i go into hysterics its genuinely the funniest thing i've ever seen

#the funniest thing is is that i truly believe he thought he was being 100% convincing. that that's normal behavior for a completely straight #completely allosexual man #light is fucking awful and i hate him but also there's nuance to him. and sometimes i can get a little like. oh thinking about his life #before the series. specifically factoring in my headcanons about him being gay aroace and autistic and stuff. ppl have written some rlly #good fics surrounding those topics.... but yeah thats not even canon stuff but i dont care #anyways its not in a way of making excuses for how he is i just think it adds more to his character #hes total garbage but i think theres really interesting stuff with him when it comes to how he's.... VERY disconnected from others #just in general. he's like aware of how to act ''normal'' on like the most textbook surface level without being like. Aware enough to #be able to make it more convincing. and as ridiculous as it is i do see some of myself in him in that sense #also that person who said light and L is just autistic guy who's been masking his entire life vs autistic guy who's never masked in his #entire life. LITERALLY EXACTLY. genuinely perfect way to describe them they are both so similar when it comes to this #but the ways they go about it are very different. light has been playing the part of the perfect son his whole life. L doesnt try to change #himself for anyone and doesnt care when people think hes weird. both of them arent very socially aware and havent had any real friends #their whole lives. its such a fascinating parallel between them #i could go on a whole fucking thing about how light was pretending to be someone he's not around his family and at school and everything #long before he got the death note BUT. i wont. at least not right now #jesus christ how did i go from laughing about him with the magazine to this. my bad #derailed my own damn post. idk swagever #will say rq tho. watched a vid on youtube that pointed out how light expected his family to think nothing of the fact that he's gone to #such drastic measures to hide his diary when making the plan with hiding the death note which is like #that level of dedication would NOT be normal. so the fact that light expects his family to think nothing of it......#i mean you could read that as light just once again being socially unaware. but it could also imply that light's family kind of Knows #he's hiding something and just doesn't address it. Frankenstein's Monster

This plight is the simplest of them all: you did not ask for this. You were never given a choice. No part of yourself feels human, just a collection of traits you've picked up from mirroring anyone you could, even the people you meet through a television screen. It's alienating to live that way- yet someone has called you the alienating one. Maybe too many people to count. Maybe they treated you so uncomfortably inhuman that it's all you can understand now, or you've dug yourself into such a deep hole in an attempt to keep safe that you can't remember a person living in the home of your body at all. Being alive is confusing and painful and lonely and loud but living is all there is to being human- you're already there. Just take air into your lungs and breathe. Close your eyes and picture a beautiful sky. You made that. You painted that yourself.
