Ok ok ok.
Finished Cult of the Lamb (right in time for the next update)
And now I got all these thoughts.
Like the bishops?
People are already doing so much interesting stuff with Narinder, so I got nothing new there. But the others?
Leshy is interestingly enough the most elaborate and thoughtful of them, the snippet about his crown was almost poetic.
Kallarmar however, he really surprised me. Based on his previous behavior, and what the others said (including ???) I had expected a frightened sniveling crybaby, not this calm sassy thing. Not only does he seems to be the most accepting of their new life, he is super calm and friendly with the lamb.
Then I realized.... Oh. Kallarmar has already gone through his worst nightmare. He has already died, multiple times. And since the lamb has done no new harm to him, he has no real reason to fear as long as he is a good little follower. (helps that he got the absolute cutest voice) Oh yeah, and the fact that not only does he claim he was pressured into helping with binding Narinder, but also that his relic summons a skeleton - one that seems very clearly to be based on Narinder?? I have thoughts.
And Heket? Heket seems angry, but reluctingly accepting of her new life. And I realized, after what happened with Shamura, Heket was the one keeping the bishops together. For a thousand years, she was the only real thing holding up the old faith. Shamura too wounded to handle it. Leshy too young and well, chaotic. Kallarmar just wanting to hide away in his temple. She must have been under so much pressure. And she is the next youngest in the group!
Shamura is just such a tragic character. I had expected them to be more damaged without their crown, but seeing how disoriented and stuck in memories and half addled thought they are? Damn.
When I gave them the spider silk their reaction was a gut punch. I had this clear mental image of them running the silk though their fingers, mumbling to themselves, barely aware of the lamb.
Ugh, I really hope Sins of the flesh gives more lore. I got all these feels.

Encanto tv series
In every episode Luisa tries a new hobby in the B/C plot and it goes a different direction each time.
There's 12 Madrigals so that already gives 12 character-centric episodes, + 12 if you want to do flashback episodes for each character so that's already 24.
Townie-centered episodes
Obligatory halloween episode where the grandchildren tell each other scary stories of the outside world.
Dolores and Mariano get engaged/married in a mid season finale/season finale.
Over the course of the series a trading&transport system is created for people to safely get in and out of the Encanto to the nearest town.
Obligatory "the oldest granddaughters go out and shenanigans happen." also Camilo and Mirabel spy/tag along.
Mariano goes with the other granddaughters out of the Encanto to get the best engagement ring for Dolores (because only the best of the best is good for her). Camilo and Antonio tag along and they get into trouble. Dolores hears everything and goes to bail her boyfriend and cousins/brothers out.
in each episode a part of the diverse Colombian culture could/should be explored. (food, music, dancing, fashion, history, etc)
Each season, new outfits for everyone!

i remembered i can just make stuff up (stream sketches + scrapped designs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
uhhhh quick fire for the second image from left to right juvenile vessel - old world cable maintenance - artistic diplomat vessel
Headcanons below the cut:
(Im not kidding word counter marked this as a 5 minute reading time open at your own risk)
While the sentiment of the architect network as "a thousand strings in a melody, not one louder than the rest" is a poetic interpretation of the network, it is not necessarily reflective of the precursors society as a whole.
At its peak, the species span billions of planets with billions on billions of individuals, all with their own degrees of autonomy and divergence. If each architect is equal in its power, than it is equal in its power to choose. Even if the soul of an architect, its very essence and its personality, is designed so perfectly that its primary desire is the perpetuation of order and advancement (two inherently divergent concepts), faults occur. Breakages occur. Pockets, cultural subsets, faded transmissions, and any other element of lost insight be it archaic or modern, lends itself to the impossibility of an entirely homogeneous society.
Whether a hive minded society reflects the only means to perfection is debatable, but its important to remember that our main portal in to the precursor world is Al-an, a known prodigy born and raised in to a society that has done nothing but benefit him. His view of his people is intrinsically skewed. He has never had a reason to see beyond the propaganda, nor question his directives. They have never once failed him.
But what of the little guys? The constructed failures so to speak. Those destined to be cast in to the bowels of poisonous cobalt mines and those who's birth purpose is to be irradiated and isolated for the greater good of the collective. Those who's genes prompted sub-standard intelligence who will never be seen as truly important. Their needs must be cast aside by design for the greater good of the collective. By design they must be ignored, their thoughts not relevant to the forwarding of progress.
Because there is true power disparity there is a true hierarchy.
Aware of this, the precursors devised a system of checks and balances to ensure that scientific progress remains at the forefront, rather than the accumulation of power by any individual.
As with all things though, power inevitably seeks to maintain and grow like a cancer.
One such exertion of power comes in the form of a "hive master". These unique individuals require precise expensive machinery in order to be produced, and as such are very rare. The vessels they require are likewise uniquely suited to only these hive masters and their unique ability to sway the voices and personality of any individual connected to the network. They themselves are invisible, completely undetectable except in physical form. Their unique telepathic abilities only work when paired with these vessels. They have no voice nor will of their own and are said to represent architect society on its most basal level.
Given their difficult to produce nature established personalities are very often used in place of new seed combinations. Personalities most suited for repurposing as a hive master include those who are most senior, intelligent, and aligned wholly with societal goals.
They are typically only found on heavily populated planets with more than a few thousand individuals. There they go undetected, like the sound of wind lost in a sea of voices, whose squall directs its very rampage. They are also enlisted for many unique duties on populous planets, such as the refactoring of corrupted individuals and silencing cultural sub-sets.
The average architect probably isn't even aware of the existence of a hive master unless their profession lies in the refactoring and diplomatic processes.
Despite the cultural drive for a monotonous and orderly society, artistic expression is common and encouraged in some sects. All architects possess the desire to express themselves, similarly to humans. Some do this simply with their inbuilt biolights that vary naturally with the individual, while others (less commonly) modify their vessel or design new and unique ones for themselves.
A vessel after all is a costly investment you cant just change like the season, its built to last you a couple thousand years. It's only natural that some seek to don something unique.
This behavior is sometimes detested by more traditional architects, but is not universally frowned upon.
Diplomats are actually encouraged to take on more artistically designed vessels. Often with their respective species' artistic values in mind. They've found greater success with alliances when they don't look like massive sticks in the mud.
Subsets of culture also at times develop unique vessels. Such as an order-over-progress movement that developed on the fringes of the network and preferred pie-bald esque vessels. Alternatively in the past as wars waged between the architects the opposing sides often don differing forms to show their allegiances. In more recent history, a wave of white-clad vigilantes advocated for a complete reset of the old-world collective.
Aside from artistic and affiliation vessels, mainstream precursor society also used a series of varying vessels to reflect personal occupation. Some of the most notable included the warrior vessel, who by design met the largest accommodations of standard architecture for the purposes of intimidation and physical altercations. Al-an's vessel likewise is very common as a heavier-built variant meant to face harsh outer worlds such as 4546B. On base, more light and energy efficient vessels make the dominant force where defense isn't a huge priority.
Microvessels such as those seen above in grey are fairly uncommon despite their energy efficiency. They are most efficient on old world planets that have been in development for hundreds of thousands of years, where the march of time means that not all builders past and present were on the same wavelength and as such small and precise forms mean that construction can be completed with minimal risk to crowded infrastructure.
Another unique and uncommon vessel is that of a juvenile grow-out vessel. These are seldom customized beyond survival needs, and are designed to acclimate a freshly generated architect to the physical world. Like a living vessel, they grow with the individual starting from broodling all the way until young adulthood. They tend to be a bit clumsy and lack the ability to interface with most technology. Always running a blue biolight, these vessels to not require a lot of energy to function physically. A juvenile architect must prove its maturity before it is allowed to graduate in to an adult vessel. This change-out phase is a diplomatic process and one can sometimes wait many years before being approved in to maturity.
The treatment of a new architect varies quite significantly depending on their birthplace and genotype. High performing juveniles are singled out very quickly for better education. Despite the rarity of children in architect society they are not given much importance. A single broodmother may be the ward of up to fifty broodlings, each of which given little attention in favor of allowing them to develop social skills among themselves. Despite architect's seeming infinite power to control resources, broodling mortality is surprisingly high.

The Kelvin/Keefe wedding rings are back
Tumblr media
Remember the rings that Kelvin and Keefe wore on their "wedding band" fingers in Season 2? Plain silver for Keefe, filigree for Kelvin. Fans argued like mad. Wedding rings? Chastity rings? God squad rings? I finally decided that they weren't significant, since no one commented on them or even zoomed in on them: you had to blow up a screen shot to notice.
Well, they're back in Season 3: matching men's silver wedding bands with black diamond inlay (the real thing sells for over $4000), on the ring finger of Kelvin's left and Keefe's right hand. That's the opposite of the hand they favor, which is important if the actors have to keep putting them on and taking them off.. And in universe, they'll come together when the guys hold hands -- romantic.
Tumblr media
For the first few episodes, they are not emphasized in any way. Kelvin displays his quite often, but Keefe's is hard to see due to the staging or Cavalero's presentation (he deliberately hides it during the break-up scene, so why put it on in the first place?). One scene where it's obvious was cut -- to not give away too much?
. In Episode 3.6, Keefe’s is gone -- he must have returned it -- and Kelvin keeps fiddling with his and taking it off and putting it back on. They are obviously symbols of the relationship. Which means that the guys exchanged them for that purpose. Which means that for all his talk of dude-bros and best dude friends, Kelvin knew exactly what their relationship meant. I'm not putting "wedding rings" in quotation marks anymore.

WWDITS final season final credits and it's the opening title sequence of the photos
except they're no longer photos of them all individually. They're now all group portraits. And they all include Guillermo.
Bonus, that's the final scene of the series: they're all sitting for a portrait again, but when Guillermo tries to stay out of frame or be the one working the camera, it's no longer "not you, Guillermo"...it's now "you too, Guillermo!"
And maybe it means the picture comes out blurry or people aren't posed right, but it's the photo that is perfect for our little coven.

A thing that I noticed about Splatoon and how they handle the Idols that not many people talk about is that they're never the focus of the story they're introduced in:
1. Squid Sisters- Basically just side/support characters. Didn't even come into the story until near the end of the Story Mode. It wasn't until S2 that they got more focus and substancial character development , most of which, sadly, came from a web exclusive story.
2. Off The Hook: They barely had any presence in the base game's story mode at all. We had to wait until a year later to get a story focused on them and we had to pay for it, and for the third game, they once again didn't have much presence in the main game and had the "sequel" to their story via DLC which, just like S2 and SS Stories, was mainly about showing us how both the results of the final fest and events of the previous stories personally affected their characters as well as completing their character arcs.
3. DC: Despite being kind of undersutulized in the main story mode, they still probably had the most presence and significance in the story, and arguably the best debut, due to working as antagonists, later turned allies. As of now, they haven't currently gotten their own story but if the "pattern" set up by the previous games is anything to go by, we'll either get an S2 Hero mode situation with DC being the main focus while the new idol get smaller roles and later DLC to tell their story or an S3 situation when they'll be mostly focus on the new city and villain while Deep Cut get the DLC treatment showing their post-final fest lives.
One things for sure, the next Idol group most likely ain't getting their own story until Splatoon 5 🤣

Burning Shores:
(This is assuming that the key art we are seeing is also the cover art.)
Is anyone else thinking that this woman riding the sunwing with Aloy is really important to her continuing story? I do.
Tumblr media
My reasoning is this:
Aloy has never been depicted with anyone else on cover or key art.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Tumblr media
Horizon Forbidden West
Tumblr media
Frozen Wilds
Tumblr media
Are all alike in that she is alone on the cover. No other characters or friends? Not even on the collectors edition. The only other people on a cover are some random Tenakth rebels.
So why is this person? What is her story and why is she important enough to be the first other person depicted with Aloy on the cover? Is she a new character, or someone we met?
Whoever she is, she's important to Aloy and I can't wait to find out why.

The History of the Zonai [MasterPost]
A hypothetical history of the zonai as interpreted by me with the goal of creating a comprehensive narrative. Although my interpretation is based on canon events, locations and other information provided in-game as well as evidence and ideas brought forward by other fan theorists, it remains purely theoretical and borders on the realm of heavy speculation and even fiction. I do not claim anything said in this series as factual!
Regardless, I hope you enjoy my deep-dive into the zonai lore and feel free to interact, share and discuss as much as you want. I decided to put this out here for a reason after all!
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: Creation of the Land and Sky
This chapter hypothesizes on the early zonai civilization, it's societal structure and their first settlements.
Chapter 2: Era of the Goddess Hylia
This chapter speculates on the origins of the sheikah and their connections to the zonai, as well as the original purpose of Thyphlo Ruins and hypothesize as to why it's in its current location.
Chapter 3: Era of the Sky
This chapter speculates about the whereabouts of the zonai during this era, their expansion into the sky and the depths, and the evolution of their architectural style.
Chapter 4: Era of Chaos
This chapter is an interpretation of the events of the Interloper War and speculations regarding the extinction of the zonai, as well as the advent of the modern sheikah and the twili.
Chapter 5: Era of Prosperity
This final chapter hypothesizes about the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule, the ancient hero and the lasting influences of the zonai, notably on the wind tribe and the oocca.

So, going though the Lore Tablets, one of them gave me an interesting theory about Sozo's whole.....situation.
So, one of the tablets heavily indicates that Spore Grotto is the skull of a god, possible one of the First Gods. And it also seems like either the Mushroomos kept themselves hidden, *or* they had not truly become what they are today yet.
And now, after Sozo dies from fungi overdose, we can sorta regrow him from the mushroom on his head, however he comes back even worse that before, utterly mad, and with a new taste for Mushroomos.
There has already been other speculations about the old mushroom on the skull, how it looks much older, and how it looks slightly different than the one on Sozo.
So my new (possibly insane) theory is this: Sozo is the result of a failed resurrection attempt of the old god.
The Mushroomos are both the children, and the remains of the First One, and the Menticide Mushrooms all contains a tiny bit of divine essence from this god.
When Sozo became infected, the divine energy of the First One began to accumulate inside of him, overtaking his mind and body (remember that Dr Sozonius do not remember his time as Sozo)
Also the Mushroomos all view him as their leader, despite him being an outsider that they fed the fungi.
I suggest that they were acting on an impulse from the Old One, choosing Dr Sozonius as vessel.
As for what happened, either Sozo was not supposed to die, but slowly become more and more consumed by the First One, until it was fully reborn. Or, the regrowth of a new body directly from the mushroom was the next step, hence why Sozo starts feeling compelled to devour the Mushroomos. It is an attempt to collect as much of the Old One's essence, so that it can eventually be truly reborn.
As to whenever the player successfully thwart the resurrection by curing Sozo, or if was never going to work because it was nothing but the twitching of an ancient corpse trying and failing to reawaken, that is a good question.
Or whenever we actually truly ended it.
Spore Grotto still exist, and so do the Mushroomos.

Frosty-influence988 brought up the ^^ topic on Reddit a while back, and I must admit that I'd never before heard the fan theory that Javik’s species might not be the original Protheans, but instead and as mentioned by Frosty, be a fully assimilated and formerly conquered race.
Within the comments of the original thread there were several provided examples of information within cannon that, from a certain perspective, asserted that Javik was in fact an individual representative of the original Protheans; but so too was it mentioned that the Collectors, for which Javik’s design was obviously reminiscent of, were not originally conceived as Protheans, but later retconned to be so during later within ME2’s development.
I must say the assertion that Javik, with his elitist attitude and overtly hostile demeanor, might unknown to him not actually be a member of the “true” Protheans, is an intriguing prospect from a storytelling perspective.
I am as yet unaware of a specific example, but I would very much be interested to see how such a fact could be incorporated into fan fiction.
If you are aware of any such story that tackles these themes, please share!
(The original thread can be found here.)

I have to say it before the finale is upon us: I like how the Watcher crew handled things in relation to fan theories. There was a lot of audience speculation about the hologram, including the idea of the hologram having its own motives, and I’m sure the crew knew this. But rather than change the plot to be less “predictable,” they threw out a red herring with the  image of Shane sitting across from the Devil.
It reminds me of what Alex Hirsch did with Gravity Falls and the theories about the Author. Very classy and well-done!

You're all driving me wiggedy-wack thinking The Slap was the big clue in the Sire episode. You're so close--sooo close!--it's right next to it in that scene!! "Nandor's testing Guillermo hurr durr and his facial expression is him figuring out the hypnosis didn't work huuuurrrmpamcakes"…Nandor might once have been a military strategist, maybe…700 years ago, if his "strategy" wasn't just brute force (his epithet isn't Nandor the Subtle Manipulator, guys)…but these days our adorable himbo is a little more reminiscent of a menopausal church lady who just dropped the casserole she's been slaving over for a week right outside the Bible study group meeting room's doorway than a paragon of stoicism or gravitas, and when he can get up the motivation to rub two neurons together hard enough that they put a dent in his depression inertia, he comes up with stuff like the Doug Peterson hypnosis attempt. He's a dear and I love him to little bitsy pieces, but Ender Wiggin he is not, if he ever was.
The moment there that you need to notice is not Nandor's reaction to The Slap…it's Colin's. Yes, he's feeding off the drama, but in the moment of the attempt to entice The Sire with our favorite thirst-trap vampire-slayer's slick booty-shaking moves, Colin encourages him, "Yeah, Guillermo, shake your money-maker!"
So? What's that got to do with anything?
That, my friends, is a test coming back conclusive. That is a Chekov's gun being fired.
When the vampires think they're hypnotizing Guillermo not to hurt them, right before they finish the spell and break off the connection…Colin adds in that whenever he says Guillermo's name, Guillermo has to meow like a cat. He tests it as soon as Guillermo "wakes up"…and Guillermo plays along and meows to keep the illusion against them all going.
Gun on the mantlepiece.
When The Slap happens, the characters are all too shocked in that instant to put the pieces together…including Nandor, whose blood is not flowing into the head that's on his shoulders at the moment, if you catch my drift. But Colin has always been a little more "with it" than the bloodsuckers, and when he eggs Guillermo on later, he doesn't call him Gizmo…and Guillermo, busy with other things, forgets to meow.
Pow. The gun's been fired.
The interesting thing is that if Colin has indeed purposely tested the efficacy of the hypnosis here, he knows it didn't work…and he appears to keep it to himself. By the time Guillermo himself spills the beans to Nandor during the fight, Colin has conveniently been dead for an episode or so, seemingly taking the secret to his grave. Except, of course, that he doesn't have one, he reincarnates. And with that weird, middle-aged head on an infant's body, too! Which visually suggests some kind of continuity between Colin's lives; is he the same Colin, or a completely blank slate? Does some "essence" remain of his previous self? Or maybe…some memories? Will Colin 2.0 have any recollection that Guillermo is immune to vampiric hypnosis? If so, will he continue keeping that a secret? Why or why not? And if he did have this figured out prior to being rebooted in his meatspace form, why might he have chosen not to say anything? That could go either way: was he keeping that in his back pocket strategically, or out of goals that might not have been self-serving?
Never trust the accountant dude, guys…he keeps all the books and knows where everything does or doesn't add up!
