Read below or on ao3
Jade watches Maranwe pull her book from the satchel hanging at her hip- No wait, this is a different book... Yet another separate set of notes. This book is light blue and much thinner then the other histories he's watched the fairy bard update since she joined them. As she jots something down with her odd writing implement, he tries to think of how many he's seen so far.  "...How many books do you have in there?" He asks her.
Jade watches Maranwe pull her book from the satchel hanging at her hip- No wait, this is a different book… Yet another separate set of notes. This book is light blue and much thinner then the other histories he's watched the fairy bard update since she joined them. As she jots something down with her odd writing implement, he tries to think of how many he's seen so far.
"…How many books do you have in there?" He asks her.
It takes her a moment to respond, as she finishes her note, "Huh? Oh, how many? Hm…" She snaps the book closed and lets it hang in mid-air next to her, then pulls all the other books from her bag with that strange fairy magic. Now, what seems like, a whole shelf's worth of books are floating around her. Some he's seen already, the green one with the silver Fairy symbol on the cover, the purple one with the black Demon symbol, and the tan one with Humanity's symbol simply engraved into the leather.
The new ones are the light blue one from before- it doesn't have any distinguishing symbol, a white one with a golden Goddess symbol, a brown one with some green detailing and a bronze Giant symbol, a tan book with Percival's ouroboros on the cover in steel grey, and a smaller red book that had floated out of the cover of the Demon book. There are also three grey books- only distinguishable by dates on the spines, another tan one- this with no discernable markings, and two books that look much older than the others, one a sort of periwinkle and the other yellow. Both unmarked, except by time.
"Uh…14." She answers.
"Ah…wow…" is all he can really manage. He expected maybe half that, and some of those books are rather thick…How does she keep track of it all?
"What even are all of these?" Gawain asks, floating near to grab one of the grey books. Maranwe immediately takes it back.
"They're historical records. That's what the Bard to the Fairy King does; history keeping." the fairy answers, gathering the books and putting them back into her bag in a specific order by hand. "There's one for each race, some that keep record of specific events, some for notes that need to be categorized later or that are decidedly personal…" as she trails off, Percival chimes in cheerfully.
"That one has our symbol on it!"
"Yes. That's my newest addition, a record of the Four Knights of Prophecy- or whatever you lot would like to be called." she laughs a little, holding the book in question.
"That sure is a lot to keep track of." Anne comments.
"I thought she'd have more." Lancelot says coolly, casting a knowing glance over his shoulder.
"Well it's not as if I carry my whole library with me!"
"What other records do you have?" asks Tristan.
"Well back at home I have several more volumes of Fairy history, this is just the more recent volume. Though the others were written by my predecessors. I have a record of the Seven Deadly Sins, several reference guides for all manor of things. More volumes of human history that I'm trying to copy or transcribe, several encyclopedias from various races. Cultural texts for the Fairy race, such as musical compilations and cook books. Anatomical and medical texts… I've also been trying to acquire more obscure information, like histories for the Beastmen and the…"barbarian" tribes. Humanity has a lot to put together…"
"Geeze." Donny says, mostly to himself.
"And what about the magenta book?" Lancelot asks, and he and Maranwe share a strange look for a moment. "…That's not mine." she says simply, a very slight looks of amusement on her face. The sudden air of curiosity among the teens makes that expression less slight and she elaborates, "The book Lance is referring to is a record of my history. And I don't keep that myself. It's like these-" she levitates the two old books nearer to herself to display them, "These are records of my predecessors, the previous two Fairy Bards, Morvyd and Camellia. They were written by the bard's respective Fairy King. See, while it's our job to keep track of our people's history we tend to overlook ourselves. When Gloxinia, the first Fairy King, noticed that none of Morvyd's records included anything she'd done, he started to keep track himself. And Fairy King Dahlia did the same after that. The "magenta book" is the record Fairy King Harlequin is keeping of the things I do. I have no say at all what goes into that book, I don't even know what's written in it right now." She finishes, and tucks the two old books carefully into her bag.
"Why do you keep those old books with you, then?" Isolde asks "Wouldn't they be safer back in the Fairy King's Forest?"
"Probably." Maranwe admits, "But…well, I like having them with me. I read them often, hoping I can gain some kind of wisdom from the bards who came before me."
A quiet falls over the group at that, each contemplating the concept and the weight they'd heard in the fairy's words.
After Maranwe has all her books put back in just the right order, Anna speaks up again.
"If Fairy Bards are supposed to keep the history of the Fairy Race, why are you so interested in human history?" Maranwe hesitates, taking a breath to answer then simply letting it out.
"…That's-…Well…hm… Because you're not very good at it yourselves." It seems like a non-committal answer, spit out just a little quicker then it should be, as if she simply needed to say something. Though no one would have time to call her on it, as Chion interjects with an edge to his tone.
"Do you have a record of Camelot?"
A heaviness follows his words, they all remember what the fairy twins had told them about their mother's dealings with King Arthur and how they ended.
"I do." she answers flatly, "Though there isn't much to it. And I do not carry it around with me."

Persiens Week: Day One: First Meeting | read on ao3
Nasiens looked up at the sky, eyes following a small, green bird as it flew onto the branch of a tree.
As Nasiens approached the tree quietly he noticed the leaves of the tree seemed to be shaking. Squinting his eyes he could make out the silhouette of… something.
It seemed to be the shadow of a bird with a pair of large wings spread out. But that couldn’t have been it. Nasiens had lived in Echo Gorge all his life and he’d never seen a bird with wings of that size before.
Just as he was going to walk away he saw a set of arms crawl across the branch. A human came out into the open, sitting down beside the bird. The bird let out a chirp and flew onto his hand.
“…What?” Nasiens asked himself, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.
The young boy turned his head to him, purple eyes locking onto him. He smiled and jumped down from the tree eagerly. He walked toward Nasiens, hair bouncing.
“Hi, there! My name’s Percival!”
Nasiens opened his eyes, lifting his head up from his desk. He had been working late last night and ended up having another one of those dreams.
His dreams had always been strange but more and more often lately he’s been dreaming of that boy and his green, wing-like hair.
His grandfather used to tell Nasiens that when you have recurring dreams of someone you’ve never met before, it means that person is your soulmate. And the more you dream of them, the closer you are to meeting your soulmate.
And if his dreams were anything to go off of that meant this Percival he had been dreaming about was his soulmate. Logically it made sense but Nasiens just didn’t believe it. He had a soulmate and they would be meeting each other soon?
That was hard to believe.
“Gramps, I had a dream last night that I was a bird!”
“Oh, is that so?” Varghese chuckled, watching his grandson flap his arms about as he ran around.
“Yup! Well sort of. I was acting like a bird I guess. And there was another boy in my dream too…”
Percival sat down as he began to really think about his dream. That boy he saw in his dream— it wasn’t the first time he had dreamt of him. In fact, he had been dreaming of him all the time recently.
“Dreams are weird, aren’t they?”
“They sure are,” Varghese said with a laugh. He noticed Percival’s uncharacteristically serious expression. “But sometimes they hold a deeper meaning. Understanding your dreams can help you learn a lot about yourself, you know?” Varghese said.
“Like what?” Percival asked.
“Well, they say that we share our dreams with our soulmates. Your dream could be a hint as to what your soulmate is like or how you’ll meet.”
“My soulmate…”
Percival stood up, a determined look in his eyes. “Gramps, I’m leaving to find my soulmate.”
“What?! Right now?!” Varghese looked in shock as Percival ran to the edge of God’s Finger and let himself drop down. Varghese ran after him at once. “Percival!”
“I’ll be back soon, Gramps!” Percival shouted as he grabbed onto a chunk of land to keep himself from falling. “And I’ll see you soon, soulmate.”
Nasiens would be lying if he said he hadn’t been thinking of Percival. How could he not? He was dreaming of him night after night after night. And now he even started to think of him when he wasn’t even asleep.
It was starting to become a problem.
“SOULMATE! ARE YOU HERE?!”
Upon hearing the faint echo of that familiar voice, he dropped the medicine bottle in shock. He ran toward the window and saw the same boy he had been dreaming about, his soulmate.
“Percival.” Nasiens whispered.
Nasiens bolted out the door faster than he had ever moved before— it was like his body was acting on pure instinct. He ran toward him, yelling his name.
“Percival!”
Percival turned his eyes and his face lit up with joy. He ran toward Nasiens and threw himself at him. Nasiens fell to the ground with Percival in his arms.
“Why did you do that?” Nasiens sat up with a groan.
“Sorry, I got excited,” Percival laughed, scratching the back of his neck. “But I couldn’t help it! When I heard you call my name I just knew you were my soulmate.”
“Yes, it was the same for me. Perhaps it’s because of our connection as soulmates.”
“Wow, that’s amazing!” Percival said excitedly.
He wondered what else came with being soulmates. Maybe he should’ve let his grandfather explain about soulmates a little more before he left.
“Hey, what’s a soulmate anyway?”
“You… don’t know what a soulmate is?”
Percival shook his head.
“A soulmate is…” Nasiens lowered his hat to hide his glowing, red face. “It’s well… someone who you’re destined to meet. Someone who you’re meant to spend your life with.”
“Do you… understand what I’m getting at here?” Nasiens let go of his hat, finally meeting Percival’s eyes.
“Yeah, I think so.” Percival said, catching a glimpse of a green bird flying by.
“Hey, look over there! It’s the same bird from our dream!” Percival pointed at the bird as it flew across the sky, toward the same tree from their dream.
“That’s right…” Nasiens murmured.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw Percival chase after the bird. He began to climb up the tree and hurled himself onto one of the branches.
“Come on up here, soulmate!”
Nasiens looked up at Percival warily. He had never climbed a tree before but knowing that he was up there waiting for him gave him the confidence that he needed.
He climbed the tree slowly and carefully, hearing Percival cheer him on. Once he was close to the branch, Percival reached his hand out to him. Nasiens took his hand, lowering himself onto the branch next to Percival.
“You made it, soulmate!”
“It’s Nasiens, by the way.” Nasiens corrected him, letting go of Percival’s hand. But he found himself quickly losing his balance on the tree so he grabbed a hold of his arm. Instinctively, he leaned his head against his chest.
“What a view! This isn’t something you see everyday!” Percival exclaimed.
“Where are you from anyway Percival?” Nasiens asked. He couldn’t have been from Echo Gorge, Nasiens was the only human here as far as he knew.
“I’m from God’s Finger!”
“God’s Finger?” Nasiens asked.
“Right over there, see!” Percival pointed at the hazy figure that extended above the clouds in the sky.
“That’s where you live?” Nasiens asked.
Percival nodded. “I live up there with my grandpa. You should come visit some time!”
“Maybe someday…”
It hadn’t dawned on Nasiens that he and Percival had spent the whole day together until they were watching the sunset together. The days always felt long while he was working on his experiments alone but when he was Percival time seemed to pass in a blink of an eye.
“It’s getting pretty late…” Nasiens said as Percival let out a yawn.
“You’re right, I should probably get back home. Hope grandpa’s not too worried about me,” Percival felt a little bad for leaving his grandfather alone for so long. The next time he came to see Nasiens, he would definitely bring him along. “Man, I can’t wait to tell my gramps about you, Nasiens! He’s gonna love you, I just know it.”
Percival jumped up, throwing his arms around Nasiens. “Thanks for today. I had so much fun!”
Nasiens hugged him back, smiling sadly. “Yeah, me too.”
“Let’s meet again someday, Percival.” Nasiens surprised himself with how forward he was being.
Percival smiled and leaned forward, planting a kiss on Nasiens’ cheek.
“Of course we will. We’re soulmates after all.”

I've had a song by 《Panic! At the Disco》"The Greatest Show" on my mind lately.
And I've been wondering, what if Percival were the Sprechstahlmeister in a circus and everyone else was a circus performer?
.
P.S.: I don't know why, but I picture Lance as an animal trainer...😅
.
Based on the above, I want to provide you with sketches of Percy, the Sprechstahlmeister!
🌵 Please enjoy! 🌵

small thing i wrote for this au here
dont mind me i just got silly :3 dont repost!! (you can reblog though)
A chaos staff? I'll have to take him out before he can use it on somebody. But, as Harlequin raised his arm to summon Chastiefol, everything stopped. It hurt, hurt more than he could ever imagine. He collapsed to the ground, his breathing frantic. He realized all too late that the knight had activated the staff.
It felt like death itself, his back breaking as it sprouted new wings, his legs contorting into new forms. His blood-curdling screams transformed into guttural sounds, roars of a creature that shouldn't exist. His teeth grew into large fangs, his hands becoming long, grotesque claws, his spine extending to create a tail. It hurt, it hurt, it hurt so bad he thought he was going to die, thought that this had to be some sort divine punishment. It was complete torture.
Even after the transformation had finished, he continued to lie on the ground, his cries akin to dog-like whimpers. He was a monster, a creature beyond belief, a newly created beast.
The knight, satisfied with his work, walked away from the gruesome scene, leaving the Fairy King to cry in agony.

I had a AU/Headcannon idea that....Meliodas's decedent and Arthur's decedent would end up getting together. And Arthur's decedent is in possession of Excalibur.
I'm not sure if I should continue with this idea or not. What do you guys think?

…An au where the Tristan Platoon were the three musketeers, more specifically the three musketeers from Disney’s adaptation of it where the three musketeers are Mickey, Donald and Goofy
Idk if anyone knows this movie but this was a vivid part of my childhood and it is still iconic cuz I said so and I recommend you watch it:
Tumblr media
I’m watching it right now and my brain decided, ‘hey wouldn’t It be cool if the Tristan Platoon were the three musketeers in this movie, Isolde being Mickey, Chion being Donald and Jade being Goofy, while Tristan is the prince for obvious reasons?”
…so yeah, I’m probably gonna have a brainrot over this for the next few days

Tilly And Rowan as babies :)
Tumblr media
I've drawn these two before, but as older kids. I rarely draw babies but I really wanted to. I hope it came out well, my technique continues to evolve... I do eyes differently now and technically they're color gradients are a little different as I've reevaluated why I started coloring that way to begin with...
I tried to display a lot their personalities in this image. Not just their poses or expressions but other small ques like how Tilly has removed her own socks, and their outfits in general.
Honestly the entire time I was designing their clothes I was thinking about how viewers might interpret them. I spent a lot of time thinking about how it's probably going to be passed over as just...baby clothes. How Rowan is obviously a boy and Till is obviously a girl based on how I dressed them. But we recently learned from chapters of 4kota that Fairies kinda have a looser idea of gender and I personally don't care about gender roles anyway, their sexes actually have nothing to do with these choices. My first thought was actually practicality. With babies dresses and such are more practical because it's easy to change them that way. But keeping babies warm is usually important too.
Ultimately I actually ditched practicality in favor of what each child would be comfortable wearing, which is the same idea that caused me to draw Tilly's socks on the floor instead of on her feet.
Rowan is timid and insecure, he'd feel more comfortable, safer, in a onesie like that.
Whereas Tilly is adventurous and confident, she prefers freedom. She'd probably make a habit of undressing herself in general, as many babies do for the first while.

4kota Zombie Apocalypse AU
Summary:
The day before Percival’s birthday, his father promised he’d have the best birthday ever.
On Percival’s 21st birthday, the zombie apocalypse began.
Chaotic Dead : Chapter One: The Beginning of the End | read on ao3
Percival ran and ran with all his might. He had been running for so long that he had lost track of the time. He couldn’t focus, all he could do was run as fast as his legs could take him or else he would catch him. And if that happened, he was as good as dead.
The only way to get home safely was to get off him off his trail. So instead of taking the short cut home he decided to go the long way. He ran through the farmer’s market where there were hoards of people waiting in line to get groceries. He snuck his way through the crowd of villagers and hoped it was enough for him to lose sight of Percival.
Somehow he managed escape unscathed. Percival stopped to catch his breath. “Okay… I think I lost him.”
”Boo!” A voice yelled, launching himself onto Percival’s shoulder.
Percival fell to the ground in exhaustion as he accepted his fate.
“You’re it now, Percival.” Diodora said, poking his little brother’s cheek repeatedly. He got off of him but Percival still wouldn’t move. “Come on, chase me now.”
”No… I’m too… tired.” Percival managed to croak out.
Diodora sat down next to him, pulling his legs to his chest. He looked at Percival who didn’t look like he was getting up to continue their game of tag anytime soon.
”Okay, I’ll let you off the hook this time. But you’re the one who wanted to play, you know.”
“And now I don’t want to play.”
“Well, what do you wanna do now then?”
Percival sprang up, suddenly filled with a burst of energy. “Oh, I know! Tell me what you got me for my birthday! I promise not to tell Dad or Gramps.”
“No way.”
“Why not?”
”Because you can’t keep a secret to save your life.”
”That’s not true!” It was true. But that wasn’t important right now, what was important was figuring out what he was getting for his 21st birthday.
“Come on, just a small hint?”
Diodora shook his head. “No.”
“Is it… food?”
“No.”
“Is it… a pet?” Percival asked, a little hopeful.
“No.”
“Is it—”
“Percival, I’m not telling you.”
“Please, Diodora,” Percival clasped his hands together. Combining that by batting his eyelashes at him and wearing a pout on his lips, it was practically impossible for Diodora to deny his little brother.
Diodora stared intensely back at Percival, having a battle of willpower with himself to not spill the beans. He couldn’t let himself ruin the surprise for Percival. Especially not now, the day before his birthday.
“…All I will say is that it is a very expensive gift and it’s something that you cannot lose, no matter what.”
Percival beamed. “What is it? Tell me!”
“No.” Diodora turned his face to avoid Percival’s puppy dog eyes. “Sorry but it’s a surprise. You’re just gonna have to wait until tomorrow.”
“But I can’t wait that long!” Percival kept looking at him with that same pleading expression.
But it didn’t work the second time.
“It’s getting late. We should get home and help Gramps with dinner before Dad and Uncle come home from work.”
“Diodora, please! One more hint!”
Diodora ignored Percival, grabbing his brother’s hand. He dragged him home as he kept insisting for another clue about his birthday gift.
It was a long way home.
“Gramps, we’re home!” Diodora called out, closing the door behind him.
“Welcome back you two. Did you have fun?” Varghese said.
“Yup, it was just like when we were kids!” Percival hopped on the counter. “Diodora chased me all over town but he couldn’t catch up to me at all!”
“That’s my boy!” Varghese ruffled up Percival’s hair and Percival laughed.
“Yeah, and do you remember the part where I caught you and you collapsed?” Diodora asked as-a-matter-of-factly.
“Huh? Did that happen?” Percival scratched his head, playing dumb.
“Is that true, Percival?” Varghese looked at his grandson with concern. He put a hand against his forehead to make sure he was okay.
“Uh, maybe…” Percival muttered.
“What’s wrong, Gramps?” Diodora asked.
Varghese looked between both boys, hesitant. “…When your mother first became sick, she collapsed—”
“WHAT?!” Diodora exclaimed, rushing to their side. “Is Percival okay? Should we go see a doctor?”
“I feel fine.” Percival said.
“It should be fine. He doesn’t seem to have any other symptoms so we’re in the clear,” Varghese explained calmly. “For now. But if you start to feel sick let us know right away.”
Percival nodded.
Diodora started, “Percy—”
There was a loud knock at the door that startled the three of them.
“That must be your father. I’ll go get it, you two set the table.”
Diodora wanted to talk to Percival more about the topic at hand but he didn’t want his father to hear. He couldn’t imagine how he would react if that was the first thing their father heard when he got home.
He’d ask him another time.
“Welcome home, father,” Diodora said, hugging his father. “How was your day?”
“It was quite the day. But I don’t wanna talk about that right now. Let’s just enjoy dinner together.”
Diodora nodded. This was good, if Percival was stuffing his face he couldn’t get the chance to tell their father about what happened.
“Hey Dad, where’s Uncle? I thought he was joining us today.” Percival asked through a mouth full of food that his words were barely comprehensible. Though somehow Ironside understand his son.
“He’s working a little late today—”
Ironside’s phone began to vibrate at the table insistently. The four of them sat in silence, wondering if Ironside was going to answer or not.
But Varghese was the only one who said anything about it.
“Aren’t you going to get that, Ironside?”
But in that moment the ringing stopped.
Ironside swallowed his food before answering. “Must’ve called the wrong number.”
The phone proceeded to ring again and Varghese stared at Ironside, his gaze unwavering. Percival and Diodora looked at each other, wondering if it would be a good idea to break the tension.
“Answer it.” Varghese spat.
Ironside slowly picked up the phone and rose from the table. “Arthur, I didn’t expect to hear from you so soon.”
With each word he spoke the quieter he became until eventually he just left the dining room and stepped outside.
“What was that about?” Percival wondered out loud.
“Trust me you don’t want to know.” Varghese said, taking a sip of his beer.
Percival wanted to ask his grandfather what he meant but when he got like this it was just better to leave it alone. Until he was in a good mood, that is.
He’d ask him later. Preferably when he was drunk.
“Percival? Are you awake?”
Percival rubbed his eyes, blinking at Ironside in the dark. He yawned. “What is it, Dad?”
“I’m headed back to work now.” Ironside whispered.
“What?” Percival was wide awake now. “But tomorrow’s my birthday! Or is it today? Anyway, you can’t go to work!”
“I won’t be long. Only a few hours and I promise to be back by morning. You won’t even notice I’m gone.”
Percival pouted. “Well… okay. I guess I’ll let you go.”
”Thank you.” With Percival’s permission he stepped out of his room.
“But why are you going to work anyway? You asked for the day off, didn’t you? And why are only working for a few hours?”
Ironside froze as he was bombarded with questions by Percival. He slowly turned around, plastering a smile on his face.
“Sorry, that’s a secret!”
Percival gave him a look and Ironside sighed. He kneeled down beside the bed, placing a hand on Percival’s shoulder.
“Listen, it’s something that I can’t talk about right now but soon— very soon I will be able to share it with you. If all goes well, you’ll get to hear about it on your birthday.”
“Really?” Percival asked, excited.
Ironside nodded. “Percival, I promise you that this is going to be the best birthday you’ve ever had. You won’t ever forget it.”
“Is this about my birthday gift?” Percival was practically bouncing in bed now.
“Something like that.”
“It’s my birthday!”
Percival got out of bed and ran straight to his father’s room but it was seemingly empty.
“I guess he’s still at work…” Percival said sadly. He knew his father’s work was important but he still wanted him to be there with him on his birthday.
“Happy Birthday, Percy!” His grandfather and brother greeted him in the living room.
“Thanks, guys!” Percival hugged the two of them. “By the way, do you know if Dad is still at work? He promised me he’d be here by morning.”
Varghese grumbled. “That Ironside. What the hell’s wrong with him?”
“I’m sure he’ll be here soon.” Diodora quickly tried to lighten the atmosphere. He handed Percival a gift bag. “In the meantime, why don’t you open your gifts? And start with mine!”
Loud banging coming from the front door drew their attention. The person on the other side knocked insistently as if they were trying to knock the door down.
“…Is that Dad?” Percival asked, a little uneasy.
“I’ll go get it. You boys go find a safe place to hide.” Varghese ordered.
“But—”
Percival didn’t have a chance to protest because Diodora grabbed his hand, leading him into his bedroom.
“What’s going on, Diodora?” Percival asked, watching his brother lock the door. “Is Gramps gonna be okay?”
“…I don’t know.” Diodora answered honestly. “Let’s just stay here until he tells us it’s okay to come out.”
Percival nodded slowly. He closed his eyes and pressed his ear against the door. It was quiet at first, too quiet. He couldn’t even hear the sound of his grandfather’s voice and that scared him.
“Stop this!” Varghese’s voice could be heard shouting from the hallway.
That was all Percival needed to hear.
Percival threw the door open and ran outside. He heard Diodora calling after him but that didn’t stop. He kept running until he saw his grandfather on the floor and on top of him was his father, devouring him.
“…Dad? What are you doing?” Percival couldn’t believe his eyes.
His father was like a monster. He looked like one, skin a pale gray and bleeding from all over his body, not to mention the smell of rotting flesh. It made Percival sick to his stomach. But the sight that was the most unbearable was the sight of his father eating away at his grandfather’s skin.
“Get away from him!”
Ironside turned his attention to Percival. He let the blood drip down his throat and pounced at Percival like a predator to prey.
“Percy!” Diodora yelled, pushing his brother out of the way.
Percival fell to the ground, hopelessly watching Ironside take a huge bite out of Diodora’s face.
“Diodora!” Percival tried pushing Ironside off of Diodora but Ironside couldn’t even feel a thing. He pushed and pushed, begging for him to let his brother go.
“Dad, please… leave him alone…” Percival punched at his arm weakly.
“Percival, you have to run away. Get somewhere safe… please.”
Percival shook his head, hot tears falling down his face. “No, I won’t leave you by yourself!”
Diodora’s eyes widened. “Percival, behind you!”
Varghese gripped Percival’s arm and gave it a big pull. Percival screamed as his grandfather tore through his flesh with his teeth.
“Grampa, stop! You’re hurting me!”
His words were unable to get through to him, to both his father and his grandfather and the only thing the two brothers could do was let themselves be eaten.
“I’m so sorry, Percival. This is all my fault, I should’ve protected you. I’m the worst brother in the world…”
“Diodora…”
“We don’t have much time left, do we? We’re really going to die like this?” Diodora cried, his tears red like blood. “I didn’t even get the chance to give you your birthday present…”
“What— What was it?”
Diodora gave a sort of half smile, the only one he could muster given almost half his face was missing.
“It was a plane ticket to Liones.”
“Liones?”
“Yeah, it’s been a long time but we went when we were babies. Mother always wanted us to return someday…”
“That would’ve been fun.” Percival chuckled. “Hey, Diodora—”
Diodora snarled at him and lunged toward him, taking a bite out of Percival’s shoulder. Ironside followed suit, picking a spot on his leg to each.
Percival sniffled, looking around the room. He was surrounded by the people he loved most as they slowly ate him. He had thought about what his 21st birthday would be like for the longest time and he never would’ve guessed it would end up like this.
He could only hope it would end soon.
