Sobbing so hard bc even as wifey, Mizu wore pants, didn't want to wear that pretty kimono and makeup except for the wedding ceremony itself because I'm sure her "mother" made her or to try and soften his heart after their spar. I'm pissed at the CCG again. They were literally hiring those who're basically children, feeding them propaganda and telling them to put their lives on the line fighting their natural preditor. How old does one have to be to attend the academy? And what about those who were orphaned from ghouls and raised to be investigators? Just how young does the indoctrination start? And the quinxes were just 18/19 when they signed up (or were forced to sign up in the case of Saiko) to have a life altering experimental surgery for work purposes.

I feel like Takizawa is such a good example of how preditory the CCG is (hence why I like his human character so much). He joined so that he could be a hero and desperately wanted a promotion so he could get more praise for murdering more people but it was framed as though he was exterminating vermin. He was *22 years old* when he had to write a will and face Tokyo's most dangerous ghoul. To add on to that, he had been doing mostly mundane office work up until that point, we never saw or heard of him engaging in battle. Even if he was working out off screen, there's no doubt he had little to no experience in battle. That operation was only going to end in one way. He was always going to just be another number in the death toll. Only the truly talented and experienced investigators ever survived, everyone else was always fodder.

The CCG was a truly insidious company. And that's exactly what it was, a company. It never cared about human lives because of they did, they'd have worked to provide ghouls with ways to survive without killing. Instead, they simply murdered ghouls and prevented them from accessing food from the already deceased. The CCG only ever cared about money and promotions, not people.
