PHSI 2023 Is Officially Over!

I closed the submission form this morning and just mailed/emailed the fifth and final batch of cards! I sent everyone in the fifth batch an email today that either confirmed your Holiday Card has shipped or included your eCard, so double check your inbox and junk folders if you didn’t see anything come through. Please wait patiently for the delivery of your physical Holiday Cards; they can take up to 2 weeks to be delivered.

Also, thanks to everyone who has donated to my Ko-fi for this project so far! Your kindness has covered 61% of the postage and materials for everyone’s cards so far this year!

PHSI 2023 might be over, but not everyone's cards have been covered yet!

The percentage grew from last week again (thank you everyone who donated), however there's still a need to spread kindness and support PHSI by covering the cost of your card or someone else's! Over the course of PHSI this year I mailed almost $400 USD of Holiday Cards! As of today I have received just over $225 USD in donations. Ko-Fi doesn't take any fees out of donations, but PayPal does (about 20% on average), so the donated amount I receive to pay for the cards is even lower!

If you can help cover the cost of this wonderful fandom tradition, even in just a small amount, please consider donating so everyone’s cards can be covered this year. After all, doing something nice for others is what this initiative is all about! Random Interesting PHSI 2023 Stats!

This year I mailed/emailed a total of 112 cards all over the world! These cards reached Portal Fans in lots of places, like the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Poland, India, the US, Romania, Italy, and New Zealand!

About 83% of people chose to receive a Physical Card this year, which is good feedback considering the change from making the cards myself to using an online service. While the cost per card ended up being a lot higher (just over 2x the cost of making them myself), it was definitely worth it to not have to print, cut, fold, type, label, and mail them all on my own!

I plan on running PHSI the same way next year, as well as looking for ways to bring the cost of the cards down while maintaining the same level of quality and novelty you're all used to! Thanks again to everyone who participated this year, and special thanks to @purrtal2 for providing the artwork for this year's cards!

The Night Stalker

⚠️Trigger warning there is a picture of a creepy dollbat the end of this chapter, just wanted too warn you all incase you don't like them⚠️

Chapter 8

Jake's POV

It is now day 5 I still don't know what Alan as in store for MC, but I know one thing he will not be getting near her. He continues too send her boxes and strange message's. MC is trying too stay as strong as she can but I know it's breaking her inside. It breaks my heart too see her going through this but she is not alone I will always be by her side.

I have been watching the cameras for most of the night, Alan spent quite a lot of time in the upstairs room filled with surgical equipment. He continues too set the equipment up. There are no clues as too what he's planning.

MC's POV

I wake up from an awful nightmare the space next too me empty, I start too panic as Jake is not there. I quickly get up and start shouting Jake's name, it feels like hours before he comes out of the office. I quickly wrap my arms around him tight unable too control myself the tears start too fall.

Jake: hey, what's wrong?

MC: it was awful I had the worst nightmare and when I woke up you wasn't there.

Jake: I'm sorry my love, it's okay I'm here now do you want too tell me about it

MC: Jake it was so awful Alan had me locked away in this strange room every few hours he would come into the room and...and....

Jake: you don't have too say it if you don't want too

MC: h-he-he forced himself onto me and slept with me.

Jake: he will never ever do that too you I won't allow him too, I won't ever let him near you.

The tears fell even more jake held on too MC as tight as he could not letting her go for one second. After MC had claimed down Jake made MC some coffee and took her into his office and sat her across his lap. Jessy had just come back from the bakery with MCs favourite pastry's.

Later that afternoon MC had spent most of the day with Jake, watching him work away on his computer. MCs phone buzzed yet again another message from Alan.

Alan: good morning my sweet angel I hope you have been having a good day, only 5 more days too go my love and we will soon be together. I have so much planned I can't wait for you too see everything. I hope you forgive me for not sending you a gift this morning. I have it all ready too send but too make up for it I have sent you this eCard I love you my sweet angle. Xxxxx

Lucky MC was out of the room making coffee when the message came through, Jake had already taken a look and the sick message. He quickly deleted the message before MC came back. Jake went back too looking at the camera's he could see Alan sat down at a desk writing.

MC: coffees done

Jake: thank you my love

MC: your so sweet, I'm so lucky too have you in my life

Jake: I'm the lucky one

MC: Jessy is going out with Dan later so we have the place too out selfs, I was thinking I could cook something and just have some us time.

Jake: you know I would love that more than anything I would love too help

MC: I can't say no too you

They both shared a kiss and Jake went back too his work, while MC sat and read one of her favourite books. Later that evening MC was in the kitchen cooking dinner or at least trying too Jake kept pushing her up against the side for a steamy kiss. After dinner was finally cooked they sat down and enjoyed a romantic dinner together.

MCs POV

Today as been one of the better days after what happened this morning with Jake i feel more safe than ever, we got too enjoy dinner today and now we are snuggled up together on the couch watching a movie. Just as the movie started MCs phone buzzed.

MC: please say it's not him

Jessy: hey, hope your okay sorry too interrupt, just wanted too let you know I'm going back too Dan's tonight. So you have the apartment too your selfs ;)

MC: have fun ;)

Jake: everything okay?

MC: yeah it was just Jessy she's staying at Dan's tonight

Jake: is that so....

MC saw that devilish grin on Jake's face she knew there was no way they were going too watch this movie. Jake moved even closer too MC kissing her along her neck and biting her bottom lip. MC wrapped her arms around Jake's neck and deepened the kiss. Clothes started too fly off across the room, MC climbed on top of Jake moans escaping their mouths. The passion between them heating up as they both climaxed together.

They both lay back on the couch under a blanket, MC snuggled up too Jake kissing his smooth muscular chest.

MC: I want ice cream

Jake: me too

MC: chocolate chip?

Jake: my favourite

MC got up too get the ice cream and grabbed the bottle of chocolate sauce on the way back into the living room.

Jake: you only got one spoon?

MC: don't worry we can share plus I have other ideas

Jake: just the thought is getting me excited

MC: someone ready for round 2

Jake: with you I am always ready

The next morning Jake and MC wake up on the couch still naked but covered up, the empty ice cream tub and chocolate sauce on the floor.

MC: I think I better clean up before jessy gets home

Jake: not before I give you a kiss, Jake kisses MC softly on the lips

MC: come on at this rate we will never get cleaned up

Jake: fine you win for now

They both got up showered and cleaned up before Jessy got back home, Jake went into the office too check up on things while MC made some coffee. There was a knock at the door.

MC: Jessy you forget your key?

MC opened up the door fear took over her body unable too move frozen in fear her worst nightmare had come true. She tried calling for Jake but nothing came out of her mouth. After a few minutes MC was finally able too call Jake's name.

Jake: what's wrong?

MC: look, look what that creep as sent me! Why would be do this?

Jake: I'll take care of it go sit down in the office

Jake picked up the box and opened it inside was a creepy looking doll with a note attached too the hands.

Alan: too my one true love I hope you like my gift, it used too belong too my mother I would very much like you too have it. I know you will take special care of her her name is Amy.

27 on the 27th

It’s a twenty-sevenception!

When this year started and I was done writing the most memorable moments of my 2020, I kinda wished that my birthday wouldn’t top my list again for this year.

I mean, c’mon! Can we not have a better year for 2021?

But… My 27th birthday is a little difficult to beat—considering that 2021 is just a continuation of 2020, I’m already expecting that nothing good will happen throughout the year.

I celebrated my birthday for four days. This is not new, though. I usually celebrate my birthday on different days whenever it falls on a weekday.

I had a small celebration on the 27th with my family. My closest friends had a blueberry cheesecake delivered—much to my surprise—and it was, arguably, one of the better cheesecakes I’ve tasted.

I made matcha and espresso fusion to accompany me on my morning workload. My sister had McDonald’s delivered. And I worked until around past 9 in the evening.

These past few weeks have been one of the busiest times I’ve had since I started working at my present company.

And my colleagues sent out a birthday ecard for me. I literally laughed out loud when I saw it.

Apparently, they’re trying to coax me into starting my own podcast series. What do you guys think? Should I start a podcast?

People have been encouraging me to start a vlog, but I always didn’t like seeing my face on the screen. Could a podcast suit me better?

Going back to my birthday celebrations…

On Saturday, the 30th, We had a mini party at my home with just my closest relatives. My sister bought me two cakes, and there was pancit, chicken, tacos, and lumpia. My little cousins were there. A few of my sister’s friends came over as well. We played Nintendo. I drank wine. They drank brandy. We sang karaoke.

The following day, my friends and I went out for lunch at this new food hub in our city. The food was… okaaaay. Just okaaay. And we talked a lot… for hours… because one of us has a relationship drama. I mean, we went to this local café and stayed there for so long that we thought the barista was already eyeing for doing so because we’ve already finished our coffee and more customers were already pouring in.

So we left, and just went home after.

At home, two of my sister’s friends were there. Karaoke was on, there was more food—actually, leftovers from yesterday’s party—and there was more wine too.

The fourth day of celebration...

On February 2, I had a Jollibee lunch and chocolate caramel cake. Remember our friend Roya who was the primary reason for our Boracay trip last 2019? Well… She teamed up with my sister so that I can have this gift from her.

Four days. Four cakes. Jollibee. McDonald’s. Tacos. Coffee. Family. And friends. Lots of them.

I turned 27 on the 27th, and even when the days feel so dark for me, at least four of them were bright enough to make me happy.

I should be embarrassed by how ready to answer this ask I am. Well anyway, here goes! XD

And now specifics, because I have those, because I am way too prepared for this and have thought this out in detail with their Top Two favorite genres of meme because I am a meme-loving fuck, myself:

Sans (Undertale): Of course he’s hip to the meme scene. No explanation necessary there, except for the types of memes he’s into. Minions memes? Minions memes. He is a troll and a garbage sort of person, so he both ironically and unironically loves Minions. The cornier and more played out the meme, the more he loves it and shares it with all his family and friends to the point that they start to hate him. He exits way too many text conversations with the gif of Stuart walking to the pool in the little red speedo and everyone is very sick of it. But another thing genuinely loves is those funny product reviews people do of stuff: When somebody leaves a long review on a useless or silly product, that is his jam. His longest running favorite is literally everything posted about sugar-free gummy bears, but whether the review is sarcastic or overly dramatic in tone, he gets a good, long chuckle out of the stuff these people come up with and is at any moment a few hours away from trying his hand at the medium himself.

Papyrus (Undertale): More meme-savvy than you’d expect, but he doesn’t sleep much and most of the stuff he likes to do out of the house have ‘reasonable business hours,’ whatever that means, so the witching hours are his internet time! He’s a blogger at heart, though, and his favorites are WarriorMale and shitty-car-mods-daily– the former because he deeply resonates with the fighting-positive spirit of it, and the latter because they are so wrong and he has so much to say about all those incredible cars!

Sky (Underswap Sans): Doesn’t have much spare time to spend on the internet, so he is almost meme-illiterate, and the ones he does know are usually pretty old. He loves fun and positivity, so any of those image edits about loving and supporting your friends get a smile out of him, and doggo memes crack him the fuck up, every time. Heck, they do him the real big laughter! Bamboozled again!

Paps (Underswap Papyrus): He’s online a decent amount, but definitely not enough to understand every single meme he sees. He gets the gist of the really popular ones and has a tendency to hold onto his favorites a little longer than their shelf-life, but who decides a meme is dead, anyway? He loves The Onion headlines as reaction images, and he never fails to chuckle at a good, old fashioned Cask of Amontillado meme. In fact, he has a whole store of them printed out just to look at later. He keeps them down in the basement, would you like to see them?

Jasper (Underfell Sans): Similar to Paps, he spends some time on the internet, but not that much–he generally figures he has better shit to do, but it’s fun for unwinding a little every now and then. He is The Worst with his memeing, though, because his favorites are engineering fails and uncomfortable images. Mailboxes built in the middle of a driveway and ramps with railings through the middle are hilariously stupid to him, but he also gets a very mean-spirited chuckle out of sending people things like horses with dog-mouths, or a hunk of meat decorated to look like a donut, stuff that’ll make just about anyone go, “Hmm, don’t like that.” If looking at it fills you with discomfort and possibly even anger, he will locate it and send it to you at two in the morning.

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): Is not even really sure what a meme is. Has way better shit to do in real life, or at least believes that he does, to be online very much at all! That said, he does have a small collection of gifs from all the reality shows and things with Real Housewives in them to use as reaction images because one thing he can really appreciate is the kind of petty, cattiness those ladies get up to and he likes to co-opt it when someone’s giving him attitude over text. Another thing he likes, though he has no idea that it was ever a meme or even meme-adjacent, is the Troubled Birds images– he actually has the physical book, he got it as a gift from Jasper and he’d never admit it but it is genuinely a treasured possession of his. HE IS LOOKING FOR TROUBLE AND IF HE CANNOT FIND IT, HE WILL CREATE IT!

Mal (Swapfell Sans): Actually the worst about memes because he knows what they are, but…well, there’s no other way to put it, he’s the Facebook mom memer, it’s him. He adores wine-mom memes especially, as a wine-drinker himself, but he’s also a huge fan of those ecards with sassy, bitchy messages on them. “I need to stop asking people ‘how stupid can you be?’ They’re taking it as a challenge!” That’s the kind of thing that gets a laugh from him and he always sends it to his brother who just sighs every time he sees one at this point.

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): Now Rus spends a lot of time on the internet and it shows because probably his favorite sort of meme is what everybody keeps calling a resurgence in dadaist absurdism. Deep-fried images that don’t seem to make any sense, memes with at least twelve layers of meme-history that you need a Level 50 understanding of the internet to get, he loves those, which especially frustrates his brother because he doesn’t understand what Rus is laughing at??? WHAT IS FUNNY ABOUT THIS THING!!! …So naturally, the most confusing and weird ones are Rus’ favorites to send along to make his bro all pissy and confused, revenge for the daily stream of Mom Memes he gets from him. But more for himself, Rus is also subscribed to several channels and blogs that do stim or satisfying videos. They’re calming and…well, satisfying to him, and he likes to watch those whenever he’s stressed out. Frosting ones are probably his favorites, if pressed he might admit he thinks they’re even more satisfying than eating what the frosting’s going onto.

Slate (Horrortale Sans): He’s on the internet plenty! There’s just no guarantee that whatever the latest in meme culture is will stick in his skull from day to day, so he’s not always as up-to-date as he could be. Still, he has a couple of big favorites in the meme trends, and the biggest one is vine compilations! He loves those, vines are short and he doesn’t have the longest short-term memory, but seven seconds is very doable for him. There’s also a lot of repeated vines across compilations, so by virtue of seeing it over and over again, he tends to remember more vines than he forgets, which is awesome! He loves referencing a vine and getting a chuckle of understanding out of someone, it’s been awhile since he’s been able to be on the inside of an inside joke! Another trend he likes is the rating/reviews of stuff, like emojis or animals. The glib tone and nonsensical criteria as to what makes an ideal XYZ is just really funny to him, and since those things usually also come in big, compiled posts, each individual review is short enough to read and move onto the next instead of getting so in-depth into a text-wall that he starts to forget where he started.

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): Also doesn’t sleep much and spends a lot of his night on the internet! His personal taste in memery is a little mish-mosh though, because his big favorites are the translated Russian cat memes and any blog he can find that posts weird thrift store finds. The cat memes should require no explanation, but as for the thrift store stuff…If ever there exists a picture of an odd and/or utterly bizarre thing that makes you wonder how and why it ever came to exist, he’s both thrilled and delighted by it. He loves quirky and unique stuff and thrift stores are full of it! Seeing all the strange things people stumble upon makes him want to start doing some thrifting in real life to make finds of his own, but he also just loves to see what other people have discovered. He sends the most bafflingly odd ones to his brother… who usually responds with the Look What I Bought vine and the text, “its you.”
