Would it be possible to list some of the general differences between wolf and grass spiders? Thank you!
Sure! Grass spiders are funnel weavers, so you will often find them in funnel-like webs, usually with a big flat sheet of web around it. I see them often on bushes or in corners of siding and windows on houses. And of course over grass. Here's a pic of what you'd commonly see:

Wolf spiders on the other hand are active hunters, so you'd more often see them just running around freely or maybe in a burrow in the ground. They're a common sight in gardens, sometimes females carrying a little white egg sac from her abdomen.
Grass spiders and wolf spiders can look sort of similar, but they're easy to distinguish from one another with a few key features: the eyes and the spinnerets.
Of course there are a bunch of different species with lots of different markings so this is a generalization, but I'll choose two of the more common wolf spiders in the US, the rabid wolf, Rabidosa rabida, and Tigrosa annexa, which as far as I know has no common name. For grass spiders it can be difficult to determine exact species from photos so I'll just use the Agelenopsis genus.
The easiest way to ID wolves is with their eyes! They have 8, with 4 on the bottom row, two great big forward facing eyes in the middle, and then two on top of their head:

The eyes are almost always very obvious and easy to spot.
Grass spiders have two eyes on the bottom row, four in the middle, and two on top. The two center eyes in the middle row are not as exaggerated as the two large wolf eyes. Some views of their eyes:

Grass spiders also have long, visible spinnerets sticking off the end of the abdomen:

Wolves do have spinnerets, but they're not as long and pointy:

I'm p flaky about postin stuff like this, but I made an art vs artist for the first time :U

No one seems to talk about this (or I just havent seen it at all so please let me SEE IT👹)
Miguel would DEFINITELY tie you up with his webs. Yes we’ve seen the fanart but imagine it’s YOU this time. When you suggested it he was SO ALL FOR IT. Imagine being naked or half naked and he ties you up with his neon red webs (shibari style mayhaps) from your arms to your knees and your wrists, and he pounds you so hard and fast because you love feeling helpless and under his control (he also would feel the same). He would also tie your hands together and have a little leash on you so that he can move you around and manhandle you however he wants👹👹👹👹 He would be so into it that it would be his hobby and you are his muse and guess what happens when he finishes an intricate design on you 😏 Lord you will have bruises and rope marks all around you, people would think you got kidnapped but really you had way too much with Miguel the day before.
(if there are fanfics like this either reader or miguel tied up PLEASE LMK)
PLEASSEEE TELL US ABOUT YOUR MYTHIC MUMBATTAN AU PLEASE PLEASEE
>:) very well, my people
(currently screaming because i wrote a response but i accidentally CTRL+Zd everything out of existence lmao)
The Mythic Mumbattan AU is me pouring the following ingredients into an explosive mess:
Hindu mythology and Indian culture overload
college!Spider-Man shenanigans
revamping the original Spider-Man: India plotlines and expanding the lore
character studies!!! my favourite :)
a potential and self-indulgent crossover with another indian superhero (if we ever get there)
the horrors.
Pavitr and his personal cast!!! just!!!! THEY!!!!!!
(keep reading if you want more goodies >:D)
So the CoffeeBean is a coffeeshop that existed in the mainstream Marvel universe and in real life but that's another thing; the cast below frequently drop by to hang out with one another. The Mumbattan-equivalent of the CoffeeBean is actually the TeaHouse which is another real life thing but shh and so in-universe they're called the TeaHouse gang, but in my heart they'll always be the CBG 😌
Everyone goes to Brihanmumbai State University (BSU). Lots of crazy things happen here. Pavitr's relationship with the others is always in flux but ultimately they're super close with one another (fuck it, they might as well be poly). Their personalities I try to keep as close as I can to the mainstream universe E616 comics, but I'm being creative and letting a few things from the SMI comics and ATSV influence them:
Pavitr Prabhakar — Tamilar (Tamil); he has the charm and skills from his ATSV counterpart and the smarts from his SMI counterpart; he can be a bit of a jerk and a flake, but he tries to be a good friend, and is much more open than he was in high school.
Meera Jain — Kannadiga (Kannada); basically how I've written her in tibim: everyone's first impression of her is that she's carefree and seems to not worry too much about life. She secretly deals with a lot of self-doubt and personal fears, but the gang's presence is enough for her to push them aside.
Gayatri Singh — Gujarati (Gujarati); she's probably the most quiet of the gang, but undeniably the kindest. She's more similar to Pavitr, in that she's stubborn and quick to judge. She's the glue of the gang and always willing to extend a hand to others
Hari Oberoi — Maharashtrian (Gujarati/Marathi/Hindi); the son of the man who tried to bring literal hell to earth, but other than that he's okay. He's a people-pleaser despite having everything, and struggles with his own self-image and who he should become
Ekansh "Flash" Travasso — Goan (Marathi); the high school jock who's grown more understanding and compassionate. He knew Pavitr the longest, so they have quite an interesting collection of interactions. (ALSO I'M SO SORRY I WROTE THOMPSON IN THE ART POST INSTEAD OF TRAVASSO 😭 maybe i should go back and edit that)
Spider-Man is Spider-Man'ing. Mumbattan loves him (sort of. Inspector Singh has mixed feelings). But another question: why is that every where Spider-Man goes the demons of yore all start showing up and begin wrecking havoc? Why is that? I am taking the magic in Spider-Man: India and dialing it up to five million — horrors and magic of every kind! I can get my hands real dirty and /really/ push Pavitr to his limit >:)
That is all for now. There will be more characters, but they'll show up in time. Lots of stories too, all old and new and revamped and crazy, but they'll be told when they're ready. Perhaps this is enough to satiate everyone's hunger? (unless you want to know something else, then by all means go ahead and ask!!!)
Watching ""movie critics"" talk about the avatar franchise is an insane intellectual confidence boost. They’s say something like “what do the humans on Pandora eat? Where does the electricity come from?” And I think “not everything is poisonous to humans? They can eat Pandorian stuff just fine? Solars energy? Are you stupid or something?🤨”
A member of the brassica family Brassica rapa var. nipposinica (mizuna, Asian greens, Japanese mustard greens, California pepper grass, spider mustard) can grow with protection through the winter. The feathery leaves have a mild mustard flavour which are sweet enough for salads and older leaves can be cooked like spinach. This biennial plant was in its second year and so was producing flowers.
@moonshy submitted: I've been seeing quite a lot of these spideys recently and finally managed to get one in good enough shape to pin (amateurly)! I think I've narrowed down ID to the Agelenopsis genus, but I'd love if someone could help me get an exact match [loc: Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA] size 00 pins, limbs are spread roughly the width of a quarter
Yes, definitely Agelenopsis, but it can be difficult and sometimes impossible to determine species without looking at their lil spider genitals, and that's definitely beyond my skill. Very nice job pinning, though!
