disney treats their tva department like shit and i’m so tired of it. almost every recent disney show has been done dirty by disney in some way, whether it be bad scheduling, censorship, cancellation, leaks, an unfairly low budget, or bad marketing.
Ghost: Wait! You're telling me Disney let Phineas and Ferb get away with a fucking "booty call" joke, but Gravity Falls letting two old ladies kiss in the background would have been too controversial?
(To be fair, the booty call joke could technically be seen as being in the context of a queer-coded relationship, but still...)
and I have to say some of the censorship things that Alex Hirsch revealed are very ridiculous, especially when you consider what the show in fact did have.
For instance, S&P did not approve of the Halloween party flier that said there was a spin the bottle at the party leading to the flier saying “Not S&P Approved.”
But in episode 2 - Grunkle Stan makes the comment that he thought the kids were off playing spin the bottle with Soos to dismiss them coming back to spend time with him.
Why is one thing okay and not the other?
I mean the flier thing is beyond ridiculous but it gets somehow more so, when you consider the show has already had a line about spin the bottle.
