I can’t be the only one who never liked the “Ishimondo are Chihiro’s parents” thing right?
Idk, it just always felt weird to me. Like, I like Ishimondo and I do enjoy the Taka+Mondo+Chihiro dynamic, but when people put them in the stereotypical family dynamic (ie; Taka’s the mom, Mondo’s the dad, and Chihiro is the child) it just loses it’s uniqueness y’know?
And it kinda infantilizes Chihiro which I’m also not a fan of.
From my perspective, I’ve seen people treat Chihiro like they’re a toddler who doesn’t know what sex is or needs their ears blocked from no-no words and stuff.
Hello!? She’s an adult with a teenager’s mind basically. Not a toddler.

When Dawson and Matt got divorced on Chicago Fire, I was sad but I understood why it was happening. They were in different places after losing their adoptive son, and other things, and that was okay. They remained friends, with no promises to fix things, not leaving vain hopes for the fans.
But with Hailey and Jay on Chicago PD is a totally different story, if it indeed happens. If it was a natural, steady progression of their relationship, fine. But it isn't. Why would Jay move to Bolivia, for a specific amount of time, and say, I quote, "It's not forever. It's eight months, maybe a little longer. But I swear to you that we're going to get through this because you're the love of my life, and if I'm yours, then you'll know that you have to let me go.", if the writers had, apparently, no intentions of bringing him back and give them proper closure, even if it wasn't as a couple? It just feels like lazy, poor storytelling and writting. For the fans, but especially for the characters, that have been on the works for years and deserve a much better ending. Chicago PD has had writting issues for years, but this is the final straw for me. I refuse to watch this downfall.
Why generate so much sadness/disappointement/frustration when there could be a story that attracted views and good, positive attention? I don't understand. It doesn't make sense.
May I just add that I don't intend to ever see anything that involves Gwen Sigan, because it is just too much.

trigerring marauders fans: i despise fanon marauders. this is more like my opinion on the fans rather than the fandom itself but anyways.
i. characters were ruined.
firstly, our main characters: the 4 marauders themselves. why does every single body in this fandom believe they are all gay. remus and james are canonly straight. i despise the fact that people believe regulus & james are true loves and wolfstar is basically canon when in reality the canon thing is jily and remadora. i may not like jily but at least i can accept the fact that it's canon. people go as far as saying you're homophobic when the only thing you said is "i dislike wolfstar" (based on true events). hated how the fanon marauders had zero personality and were treated like gods who only had a small flaw and that is bullying a person that had gone through enough hardship at home and the only reason it started was that snape wished to be in slytherin.
secondly, the not-much-screentime-but-still-important: lily evans. all i have to say is: she is canonly straight and died before taylor swift was even born so she would never get the chance to become a swiftie like yall's "headcanons".
thirdly, the this-was-entirely-made-up: the bunch of barty crouch jr., regulus black, evan rosier (i forgot his name but its that evan guy), pandora lovegood (she was mentioned for half a second in the books), dorcas meadowes, frank & alice longbottom, mary mcdonald. these are the people that were mentioned in the books for half a second and yall made them a whole alternative universe where evan rosier and barty crouch are dating and then theres mary/lily or dorcas/lily or mary/dorcas and all that. sometimes i appreciate yall's creativity.
ii. the fans
here is a list that will automatically get you hatred from 99.9% of the fandom:
being against wolfstar
being against jegulus
being against mary/lily or dorcas/lily or mary/dorcas (idk their ship names)
shipping remadora because rEmUs LoVeS sIrIuS!!!
saying characters such as lily, james, remus were canonly straight.
disliking the swiftie lily headcanon
shipping snily
being a snape fan
i can go on for three years but this is getting long so lets just go to my next point.
iii. the bullying of snape
stfu and stop excusing every single action james & sirius did to snape because "tHeY wErE kIdS!!" did you know snape was also their age? sure they grew up to be more mature but that surely does not mean their past actions should go down the drain and disappear like it was never there. james and sirius literally hung him upside down, was partially the reason why snape lost his only friend, hung snape upside down for their own entertainment, making snape face even more hardships at hogwarts when he was looking forward to escape his abusive household (just because he wanted to be in slytherin).
that is all for today, now thank you for coming to my ted talk.

The Problem With Animated Shows Today
Tumblr media
I shouldn't have to make a post like this because I know there's so much more animated content now than there was when I was a kid. Yet for the better part of a year, I've sat through one abysmal failure of a cartoon after the other, and I just can't stand it anymore. I'm aware the title might come off as pretentious, but rest assured I'm not a pretentious person nor to I view this post as objective fact. I'm just here expressing the common problems I have with cartoons recently and what I feel are the best steps to avoid them.
Tumblr media
A common problem I have with cartoons recently is the awful writing on display. Shows like Samurai Rabbit, Hamster & Gretel, Ollie's Pack, and Mech Cadets all have writing that at best very underwhelming and at worst inexcusably amateurish. Scenes would go on for minutes at a time delivering boring exposition, unfunny gags, and very unnatural dialogue. It very much feels like the creators don't understand the value of basic writing principles such as "show, don't tell" "less is more" or "do much, speak little." Rather, they often go through the motions of a typical show so they can meet the given runtine and stay underbudget. For example, an episode of Centaurworld is around 26 minutes, which should be more than enough time to develop the characters, explore the world, have a good amount of funny moments and intense action scenes. What they choose to spend that runtime on instead is one note characters standing around arguing with one another, exposition dump upon exposition dump, unfunny gags, and underwhelming at best action scenes. This in turn makes the premise of the show feel wasted, like the creators only gave a successful pitch just to make something digestible to put bread on the table.
Tumblr media
It really does feel like characters in cartoons these days are one of 2 archetypes: the annoying chatterbox and the moronic dirtbag. Let's compare 2 characters that have the same idea but vastly different executions: Eddy from Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and Ollie from Ollie's Pack. Both are outcasts who aren't good role models, but we're supposed to find them entertaining and funny. Despite those similarities, Eddy is clearly the superior character in this scenario because he often gets his comeuppance for almost immediately, and he actually does care for his friends. Ollie, in contrast, is just a selfish brat who sees his friends as expendable and doesn't get his comeuppance as quickly. Not only are the main characters detestable and annoying, but the supporting cast isn't much better as often they're either underdeveloped and unfunny or they're just parrots that always share the same thoughts as the main character. And don't even get me started on how incompetent, pathetic, and annoying the show's villains can get. Seriously, I defy anyone to make a good case for characters like Lloyd Garmadon, Jamack, the Yokai from Samurai Rabbit, or any of the villains from Hamster & Gretel.
Tumblr media
An important aspect of animation that not many people bring up in conversation is voice acting. Voice actors are essential in giving life to characters in animation as they're able to make them sound believable and authentic. Or at least, that's what good voice acting should be. So many of the animated shows I've watched have such underwhelming or otherwise terrible voice acting that make the characters sound fake and kill my suspension of disbelief. Some of the worst vocal performances I've heard in recent memory come from Chris Houghton as Cricket Green, Meli Povenmire as Gretel Gomez, Allyn Rachel as Bee, and Danny Pudi as Tiny. They all have very terrible range, no sense of urgency in their tones, and don't sound the least bit believable as their characters. It's also frustrating to hear veteran actors give lackluster performances such as Aulil'i Carvalho as Hailey Banks, Chris Diantamopoulos as Thunder, and Karen Fukahara as Kipo. It's not entirely the fault of the actors for giving lackluster performances, as often they're at the mercy of bad voice direction who doesn't do a good job bringing out the best in their actors.
Tumblr media
It's a given that animation on television has more limitations than big budget animated films. The best animated TV shows ever made, though, are able to work around those limitations and provide some excellent visuals that make the world feel alive. Recently though, I've notice a common problem when it comes to the animation in shows like Mech Cadets, Super Giant Robot Brothers, Daniel Spellbound, Hailey's On It, Bee and PuppyCat and My Dad The Bounty Hunter. All of them look good from a design standpoint, but in actual animation, they look choppy and stiff. This is because these shows have bad animation direction. Most people don't think about animation direction when watching a cartoon, but we can definitely tell when animation looks good versus when it looks bad. Bad animation is not just what's being shown on screen but also how it's being presented. In Mech Cadets, a character is giving a backstory to another character in a dark control room, and the camera moves around the room, showing the walls while the character talks. This is beyond inexcusable as it showcases the lack of appreciation for visual storytelling and is a complete waste of resources. Other aspects of bad animation include choppy character movements, a lack of mass on the character models, disorienting cinematography, and poor use of lighting and shading.
Tumblr media
What can be done to avoid these shortcomings? Well, it starts by having good scripts that value showing over telling. I can't recommend Pixar's 22 Rules of Storytelling enough for aspiring writers who want to make the best scrips they can. I also think having your characters be likable and well-rounded will help a ton, especially if they're in a show about good triumphing evil. Having good actors is one thing, but it's equally important to have a very good voice director with years of experience bringing out the best in voice actors. Finally, collaborating with a skilled animation director or a very well established animation studio would do wonders. And don't be afraid to speak up and communicate with the producers on how to make the show bettee while staying within the budget. Animation is a collaborative medium and animated series today should do a better job reflecting that.

Tmf isnt very accurate in many ways but I like to think that one of the main accurate things rosy nailed was the fact that the jomies have been bullies for years and still haven't been (onscreen) punished and not even stopped. You'd think that after middle school to junior year of highschool the school would notice and stop them for good, but guess what! Nope!
#very accurate to the real school system#btw this isnt a serious or deep post about the shitty school system#im just making fun of it in both tmf and irl#tmf#the music freaks#the music freaks rosyclozy#tmf rosyclozy#oh and what i meant by the statement that tmf isnt very accurate is that like#i doubt that jake could be forgiven in a single month by drew and hailey#let alone fall in love with hailey while still trying to work out their friendship issues and friendship in general#and vice versa#and also them switching up the club mysic preformance plans last second#i feel like if milly really got into a lot of fights the school would probably just take her out of the music club already#and like (not a nitpick but something else) how the hell did henry and liam climb up to the bully rank??? theyre so fucking goofy#(in a good way) but they dont feel like serious bullies or they arent on the same level as drew#the rest of the music club knew about hailey and zanders bullies (im pretty sure) so why didnt they know about jake??? he literally was#with them all the time and was very persistent in.. idk being an asshole#theres a lot of plotholes in tmf and i could sit here and ramble and rant about them all i want but i wont cause that would be stupid#i still adore the series for what it has and is#plus sometimes you can fill in certain plotholes for yourself to make the story more enjoyable in your point of view#idk idk man i like rambling about tmf A LOT.#this is way too many tags#oops#EDIT: SORRY SORRY i meant i doubt jake could be forgiven in a single month by zander and hailey#*music#goddamned typos

It‘s honestly inexplicable to me how an entire writer‘s room, a showrunner and producers could agree to this storyline. Those are the people who wrote lines like „Where you go, I go“ or „You’re the love of my life“
If an entire fandom can come up with a million better, more believable ways for writing Jay off the show, then the writers are obviously doing a horrendous job. And they get paid for it.
And the worst part is that they’ve destroyed Jay and Upstead to the point of no return. There is no way Jay‘s actions could be turned around. Hailey is never ever gonna trust him again.
The moment Hailey takes off her ring Upstead is going to be history and I hate it.
It’s just so unnecessary. I get it‘s a drama, but nobody forced Gwen to do it this way.

Literally ran to tumbler to see if I was overacting regarding this HORRENDOUS take on who Jay Halstead is and I see that the entire fandom - UPSTEAD OR NO UPSTEAD - not understanding wtf is going on. Who is this Jay character that is being written bc it’s clearly not the same guy that said “I’m not going anywhere, Hailey. Really, I’m not”.
Only to not only go somewhere but to turn around and extend the assignment without consulting his wife. What the hell is this?
Why THE FUCK did they marry Jay and Hailey only to trash the relationship like this? Why take YEARS of slow burn building up this relationship to throw it away so easily? I get Jesse left but do the writers AND showrunners truly believe this is the best path for these characters?
I am LIVID over this. Yes, it’s a show. Yes, it’s drama. But DAMN, I haven’t seen terrible writing like this in a very very long time and this is considering the abysmal end episodes of Supernatural.
Stop playing with the fans. You’re not going to have them for much longer.
Fucking bullshit.

After the past two days, I decided to hit the beach for some much needed water therapy and to try and rest my head about Jesse leaving PD. And I just couldn’t stop thinking about it all. Like even my body was facing the city of Chicago. Granted I’m 6 hrs away and the sun had a lot to do with that, but still I couldn’t escape.
I’m sad, I’m angry, I’m disappointed, I’m frustrated, I’m hurt, I’m a whole mixed bag of emotions, and I’m really struggling with how my one main source of escapism has come crashing down in the blink of an eye.
It’s literally a death of a best friend to me. Or the death of a happily ever after. I think I’ve been so gutted by this is because I got to live vicariously through Jay and Hailey. Their stories are somewhat similar to mine in real life, since I work in law enforcement, and their coupling and relationship both professional and personal have me hope that one day I could have that. And to have that ripped away has been detrimental to my already shaky mental status.
People keep leaving in my real life; I didn’t peg it to happen in my “fantasy life” too. Needless to say, the beach was beautiful, but it was anything but peaceful for me…

Angry Disney rant below the cut!
As we already know, The Owl House was canceled because Disney "didn't feel that the show matched their brand", despite having successful shows including Gravity Falls, Star vs. The Forces of Evil, etc. (We all know that Disney only canceled TOH show because of its queer representation...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the last episode of TOH just aired a few weeks ago, it seems that Disney is now trying to fill the void with a new cartoon... whose concept is absolutely disgusting to me. Allow me to explain why I already hate Hailey's On It!
Tumblr media
According to the trailers that I've been seeing, a figure from the future goes back in time to let the main character (who I'm assuming is Hailey, ofc) know that she has a list of tasks to carry out in order to save the world.
Tumblr media
The one task in the book that the trailer puts the most emphasis on is "#43: Kiss Scott Denoga", who just so happens to be Hailey's best friend.
Tumblr media
Hailey remarks that this is a task she'd rather put off as the last one to carry out, which only seems to be another attempt to add to its importance.
Tumblr media
Honestly, the fact that she has to kiss anyone, regardless of their gender, for the sake of "saving the world" was really offputting to me, but the fact that this blatant in-your-face-straightness is almost immediately following the cancellation of The Owl House did nothing but fuel my anger at Disney.
Think about it. The premise of this show is quite literally banking on a cishet girl kissing her male best friend. This is the cartoon equivalent of straight couples making out in high school hallways.
I don't have the words to express how much I hope this show doesn't even last through the first season. The fact that it even exists is really just a slap to the face of any TOH fan.
Disney severely dropped the ball on this one...
End of angry Disney rant!

To say that I'm disappointed with yesterday's episode is an understatement. I am sad, frustrated, angry and let down. I don't really see a happy Upstead ending happening anymore, although something in me still wants to be hopeful. I know Tracy is going to kill it in every episode, but I don't want to see everything going down like this.
For the last ten years, I have followed the show religiously. Although the interest started decreasing since the beginning of last season, this is the first time that I am not excited about a new season at all. And it not just because of the Hailey, and Upstead storyline, but it does play a big part.
It is just sad to say goodbye like this.

okay, I haven't watched the show all the way through because I'm a second hand media emotional unstable fandom cretan, but I've seen clips and read fan fiction and I am angry.
I’m so tired of media creating characters and having these amazing world building crossovers but hate how disposable the characters are. Actors should be able to leave and move one with their lives without the writers completely killing their characters, either literally or in personality?
Hailey deserves to be happy. Jay would NEVER hurt her or look down on her or whatever storyline they are pulling to have Hailey move on so they can give her another love interests (because that’s what it’s all about; more drama and love stories; never a happy ending). It’s not okay. It hurts.
It’s lazy writing if this is what they do. They did a great job in developing their relationship after Erin leaving, and if they destroy it now it will be lazy and hurtful  writing that will do nothing but leave fans reeling in the wake of it.
we should be allowed a happy ending. even if they are apart, they should get to be happy because they are in love.
